He started to fuss at Luc for being careless, but Luc reminded him that it was he, Garret, who had sent the pictures. "I suppose I should of erased them, but I love being able to see your sexy body whenever I want." "You can see the real thing whenever you want, but I think you'd better move the pix to a flash-drive that you can stash somewhere safe. Please don't get us in trouble!" "I'll do it as soon as I get home. I promise. I like you too much to get you in trouble." ---------- "Wow" Blake said. "At last everything is set for going to the University of Minnesota next fall. All of my credits have been transferred and I'm done with Bethel for good! I'm sure that my parents will have a cow when they hear I'm not there anymore, but I couldn't care less. Once they know I'm gay, they won't have anything to do with me anyway." "You might not want to burn your bridges completely," Rob counseled. "I felt that way about my family too. As you know, I still hate the man I used to call Father, but Mom has really come around. My head hasn't stopped swirling over her offer of college tuition and our beautiful car. It should last us for years." "I love it when you say `our' and `us' like that, Rob. It lets me know that you're really including me in your life." "Course I am, Babe! I can hardly wait until we can get married and become a family." "You and Robbie are my family already. I'd be so alone without you. You have your mom and your brothers and sisters too, and they're loving and rational. You can't imagine what right-wing crazies my folks are." "I am lucky that Mom changed. I'm not sure it would have happened without Robbie, but at least it HAS happened. I wonder if Gloria will ever accept me. She didn't even look at me all day last Sunday." "She could come around too." "I don't think so; she's too much like her father." ---------- Eric and Josh were in the studio on Saturday morning trying to finish some details before their meeting with Mr. Shackford and Mr. Gilbert on Monday. Eric was busy amending his short children's book based on a silly rhyme that he had invented while entertaining Rob's two young siblings. It involved five armadillos and had a kind of moral to it, but he needed a catchy title if he had any hopes of having it published. He decided to call it "Armadillo Rap" thinking that might serve as the needed hook. Josh was working on illustrations for each of the five crossing scenes plus a couple more to help highlight the moral. These would be brightly colored and somewhat cartoon-like. He was also considering a more realistic rendition of an armadillo to accompany the short discussion of armadillos that Eric was thinking about adding to his "poetry" book. "What does this new beginning sound like to you?" Eric asked after he'd made a few changes to the meter. FIVE ARMADILLOS Five armadillos had to cross the freeway. The first one said: "Give me some leeway!" He was part-way there, according to plan, But HE got smacked by a moving van. "The other verses are the same, but I changed the last part a little too." If you must cross a road, but aren't an armadillo, Mind the cars or you'll be flattened like a pillow! When you make your way, hold your Dad's hand tight And never cross the street against a red light! "I like this version better," Josh enthused. "It seems to flow more evenly than the first one did. I see you've put in `mind the cars' instead of `watch out for the cars' and it fits better. But, will American kids understand what it means? It sounds kind of British." "They'll get it, I'm sure. Haven't you seen any of those `Thomas the Tank Engine' videos? Someone often says: `Mind the gap'. I know a three year old who used to repeat it all the time." "Who's that?" "The grandson of my neighbor, Alma, back in Illinois. I used to go over to help entertain him sometimes when she was babysitting and I was all alone. He'd intentionally leave a space in the track and then he'd yell: `Mind the gap, Dude' as he pushed his train engine toward it." "Cute!" "Yeah, I do miss Alma and him." "We could drive down to see them in the summer perhaps," Josh suggested. "Not until I'm 18. I'm not sure what my mother might try if I went back for a visit. Your dad said that she could contest my guardianship if she thought about it. He says the judge should have held a hearing with her present before he awarded my dad custody. Ben didn't bring it up because he didn't want to see us go through all of that again. He said we'd still win, but it could be an expensive and drawn-out process. He figured that I've pretty well backed her off with my `blackmail' threat. Hopefully she won't figure it out until I'm an adult." "Whatever, I'm glad that you're living with me!" "Not to change the subject, but do you think we should erase our homemade sex videos in light of the attention people are giving to `sexting'?" Eric asked. "That dragon tape is really sexy." "I don't want to because I love watching us make love. If we keep them well hidden and only share them with each other, I don't see how we could get into trouble. We should probably take another look at them to see how graphic they are." The boys locked the door at the foot of the attic stairs and put the video disc into Eric's laptop. They sat side by side on the rug – their knees touching - as they watched the hot scenes they'd recorded. After a few minutes of viewing, both boys had to adjust their pants. Eric gave up trying to rearrange his equipment within the confines of his jeans and removed them. Josh followed suit. He lay back on the rug, pulling Eric on top of him. Their lips met in a passionate kiss. The footage that they'd been reviewing was soon forgotten as they created a live scene that was even hotter. In a flash, they were undressed and making out with abandon. Heavy petting turned into all-out raw sex. Bathing each other's balls gave way to fully swallowing each other's cock as deeply as they could without gagging. Because they'd been so thoroughly turned on by the visual stimulation, they lacked the self-discipline or desire to hold back once their sap began to rise. They soon reached the point of no return, accompanied by moans and gasps. Their orgasms happened almost simultaneously. With all the cum they ingested, they wouldn't need a mid-morning snack! ---------- Ever since his finals were over, Blake had been working more hours at the country club. The manager was happy to have him available to help with the myriad of events that always occurred in the spring. There were weddings, graduation parties, first communion celebrations, as well as a prom to host. The weekends were especially busy. The club would be hiring additional summer help as grounds keepers and golf course attendants. The jobs ran the gamut from weeding flower beds to straightening the locker room to running the refreshment cart out on the course. Blake told Josh and Eric that they were assured summer jobs if they wanted them and that there would be a few slots for some of their friends as long as they were reliable workers. The boys said they'd spread the word AFTER they applied for the positions that interested them. ---------- The meeting with Mr. Shackford and Mr. Gilbert went very well. Both teachers were pleased with what they saw and made very few suggestions for changes. They were excited for the boys and also what it would do for the reputation of the school if two of their students could get a book published. Mr. Shackford said that it was a very difficult field to break into, but that he had connections with a couple of former students who might be able to open doors. Josh's successful exhibition and Eric's writing awards might help in getting someone to consider their work. The group set up a tentative meeting for the next Monday to check on progress. ---------- The following day, Dylan was waiting in the foyer for Eric and Josh before classes began. He looked rather down and the boys were quick to ask him if he felt okay. "That depends on how you mean it. I'm fine physically, but I'm hurting inside. Marissa and I had a fight last night and I think it might be over. She's become awfully possessive. I got her to back off earlier, but she's at it again. She doesn't want me spending so much time with my buds. When I'm not with her, she keeps calling or texting me to find out who I'm with and what I'm doing. It's like I'm on a leash! I'm being suffocated. But I really like the cuddling and kissing. We didn't do the deed, but I figured she'd be the one when I did it for real. Do you know how empty it feels when you've broken up with someone you love?" "I have an idea of what it's like," Eric said. "When you fight with the person you love it's like getting kicked where it hurts!" "Yeah it is," Josh agreed. "When you've made up, you hope that you never have to go through it again." "I didn't know you guys had girlfriends," Dylan frowned. "Where have you been keeping them?" "Should we tell him?" Eric asked. "I'm okay with it if you are," Josh responded. "Okay. Dylan, I said it hurts when you fight with the PERSON you love. I didn't say anything about a girlfriend." Dylan looked perplexed. "Oh, sorry. I know that you've had a bad time with your mom." "No, it's not that. Josh and I had a misunderstanding not too long ago. He thought I was cheating on him and we had a fight. Both of us were miserable thinking that it was over, but some friends helped us see how foolish we were." "You mean you two...?" "Yeah," Josh grinned. "We're a couple. I figured you'd have guessed by now – especially because of your bro. "Damn! I must be really dense. I had to practically be smacked over the head before I knew about Blake and Rob; I didn't know what Sam meant when he said he was into water sports. God am I naïve!" "Well, aren't you going to say if you're okay with us or not?" "Of course I'm okay with you guys. I'm a little disappointed that you didn't tell me earlier, but I guess I can see why you might not want to. Jake may be gone, but there are still some assholes in this school who might make it difficult for you. Aaron's done pretty well though." "So you won't be uncomfortable in the showers with us next swimming season?" "Hell no! Hey, I just figured out why you didn't mind shaving each other's pubes before the state meet. But you didn't throw wood like Garret did." "You noticed Garret?" Eric asked. "Not noticing that would be like not seeing a piece of firewood in his skivvies! That boy is really going to please someone with his tool." Eric and Josh giggled. They'd thought that Dylan had been completely oblivious to Garret's "problem" at their shaving party. Dylan might be a bit innocent, but he evidently wasn't blind. "Hey guys, you've cheered me up like I knew you would. I feel better already. Maybe we can do some guy things together now that I'm single again. I'd like to maybe canoe and camp again when school's out if we can work out our schedules. Or, maybe we could go biking. I kind of envy you because you have each other and can still do guy things." "So will you come to our wedding someday?" Josh inquired. "Sure. And congratulations on finding the right person," Dylan said as he bumped fists with both guys before they hurried off to their first class of the day. ---------- "What are you guys so happy about?" Rob asked when Eric and Josh joined him in science class. "We came out to Dylan this morning and he was great with it!" Josh answered. "Well duh. What made you think he wouldn't be? He loves and protects Aaron." "But a guy would do that for his bro," Eric insisted. "Not everyone. Dylan is a caring person. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but I'll bet he could put a major hurt on someone in a fight." Rob replied. "I know we can rely on him being on our side even if he's not on our `team'. That's the kind of friends we need." "Wow, we're out to you, Luc, Garret, and now Dylan." Josh grinned. "When we come out publicly at school next year, we'll have several guys we can count on." "And we have the LGBT club." Rob reminded them. "That ought to make it easier for all of us." ---------- Robbie was unusually fussy on Tuesday night. No matter what Rob did for him, he wasn't happy. "Let's check his temperature," Scott suggested. "He's been running about 99 this afternoon and I think I know what his problem is." Robbie's temperature was slightly elevated, but not enough to cause concern. When Scott checked the baby's lower gums, he felt a slight hard spot toward the front. Robbie seemed to like having Scott's finger there and proceeded to kind of chew on it. "I think our boy is cutting his first tooth." Scott said. "That would explain his recent behavior. I bought a package of teething biscuits last week in order to be prepared. Eric was nearly six months old when he started teething." "Josh was almost seven months," Ben interjected. "I thought he was going to be gumming his goodies until he turned 18, but he managed to grow a mouthful of teeth long since. He's never missed a meal that I know of." "Dad!" Josh exclaimed. "Must you tell everyone how under developed I was?" "I'm glad it was only your teeth!" Eric snickered. Chewing on a biscuit seemed to calm Robbie to some extent. Having his daddy hold him until he fell asleep helped too. "I suppose I'm spoiling him by not putting him in his crib and expecting him to go to sleep without being held," Rob admitted, "but I can't let him feel his pain alone. I did the same for Nicky and Mickey when they were cutting teeth and they turned out okay." "I don't think that's spoiling him," Scott said. "When your child is hurting, it's important to be there for him. It's not like you're indulging him with material things; you're caring. He senses that. He'll develop a strong enough bond not to stray too far when he's a teen." "Is that why Josh and I are so sweet and obedient?" Eric asked with a big grin. "Yes it is!" Scott replied without hesitation. "I suspect that somewhere in your subconscious little mind you remember that I did things like that for you. We weren't alienated until after the divorce." "Yeah, I remember running to you whenever I had a skinned knee or bloody cut. You always held me till I felt better. I DO remember. You talked calmly to me when the doctor had to stitch my forehead when I was about four. You explained everything to me so that I wasn't scared anymore. You even told me it was going to hurt some and I remember that I didn't even cry. That's why I was so pissed when you left us." "You must know by now that I didn't want to leave you." "Yeah, I do. I love you, Dad!" "I love you too," Scott said with a catch in his voice as he hugged his nearly grown son. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Author's notes: Thanks to the following who wrote since last posting: Simon A, Carroll, Jim C, Karserus, Bill K, Rutabaga, Jim We, Gary McC, Alan R, James K, Paul R, Caleb H, and Karserus.
