I threw him the keys to my new car. Once inside and settled, he reached over, placed his hand around my neck and pulled me into him. Jermz gave me the most tender, loving kisses I had ever received from him. When we broke the kiss after almost a minute, he just looked into my eyes. I could not figure him out in that moment. He had the saddest, almost fearful, look in them. I shrugged the feeling off as he started the engine and we headed down the street to Mr. G's. Jermz soon pulled up in front of the eatery. Both of us got out and headed to the door, hand in hand. Once inside, we still held hands as we approached the host's stand. "Hello. We had a reservation for two, but we are about twenty minutes late." "No problem, sir. We have extra tables tonight. Will it just be the two of you with us tonight?" "Yes." We followed the host to our table, one which happened to be in the back corner. It was rather private and secluded, and was just what the doctor ordered for our romantic dinner together. We sat on opposite sides from each other, but kept holding hands across the table. Soon our waiter came to the table with menus in hand. He caught us holding hands. He was a good looking young man, about twenty years old. He immediately became overly friendly with Jeremy, almost ignoring the fact that I was sitting right there as well. He handed us our menus and asked if he could get us something to drink. Jeremy looked at me, then said, "I will have an iced tea." He smiled back at the waiter. "I will have the same," I ordered. The waiter said he would return shortly and left us to our menus. I looked forward to a nice relaxing dinner with my boyfriend. I decided on the shrimp and tenderloin. Jeremy also apparently had decided as he set his menu down on the table. He again reached for my hand to hold. Our waiter, whose name happened to be Cody, came back a few seconds later with his pad in hand. Looking directly at Jeremy, Cody slid right next to his chair and rubbed Jermz's leg with his body. Cody said, "Are you ready to order?" "Yes, we are," Jeremy replied. We proceeded to order our dinners. They were excellent, and both of us soon became stuffed and left nothing but empty plates behind in our wake. Cody returned at the end of our evening with check in hand. Jeremy pulled out his credit card and returned it to the waiter. Suddenly, Jeremy announced, "Listen, Jess, there is something that we need to talk about. It's something that I am not proud of happening. I know it is going to hurt you, but it is my hope that you will be able to forgive me, and we can move on in our relationship." Jeremy shifted and rocked back and forth, looking almost sick as he did. "Jeremy, there is nothing you can't tell me, but this does sound serious." "I don't even know how to begin to tell you about what I have done. It something I never ever thought would or even could happen. I know it is a total betrayal of my love for you and your love for me. I just need you to hear me out and I hope you will be here when I am done." "Jeremy, you are starting to freak me out here. Just tell me what you're trying to say," I told him fearfully. "I have done something. I am not sure if you remember it, but back right after you came home there was one evening when I got a phone call. Well ..." "Yeah, I guess so, but what does that have to with whatever it is that you have done?" I asked, starting to get a sick and worried feeling in the pit of my stomach. "It was a call for me to meet someone. It ... it was someone who wanted to meet and talk some things over with me. I knew I should have ignored it, but I just couldn't for some reason. I was drawn to the meeting. I know I lied to you about it, and I have no excuse for that other than to say I am sorry." "Okay ... but what does that have to do with all this? What is wrong with going to this meeting? What happened at this meeting? Just tell me, for God's sake!" I was starting to get louder and upset to boot. "We ended up talking about some things, and one thing led to another ..." His voice was now shaking, Jermz was wringing his hands, and tears were even starting to flow. "I never meant this to happen! I ... I ... never meant ... I never wanted to hurt you! Please, Jess, you need to understand—it just happened! It means nothing to me ... please, Jess ..." Jeremy stumbled over his words. I jerked my hands away from him, looking at Jermz with horror in my eyes. "W-H-A-T the hell are you trying to say???" I demanded. "It ... it ... it ... just happened ... I ... I ... fucked him! That is all ... It was just a fuck! There was no love involved ... it just happened." There was a long moment of silence between us while I just stared at him. "I am so sorry, Jess ... can you ever forgive me?" Jeremy sobbed softly. I remained calm, or at least I tried to, as I held back the tears and tried to suppress the wrenching in my gut that was almost forcing me to vomit. I clenched my jaw and looked at Jermz in disbelief. We had not even gotten to the point in our relationship where we were having sex with each other. I mean, we had jerked each other off, but we had never even come close to having actual sex between us. I knew Jeremy was more experienced than I was, but this was way over the limit of anything I could accept. How was it he could just fuck some random guy? My mind was racing. I didn't know what to do. I needed more information. I don't know why, but I needed to know more. "Is this where you have been all the nights and times that you have been missing? Is this why you have been different and so secretive?" I demanded. "Yes and no ... It only happened a few times. I knew it was wrong, but for some reason I could not stop it. Then I would come home and face you. I would face you after having just fucked him. I knew it was wrong. I didn't even know why I was doing it. I had to stop it, and I did. Then I was so disgusted with myself, it became hard to look you in the eye or even be close to you, knowing what I had done. So I sometimes just went out for drives, so I would not have to face you. I am so, so sorry, Jess. If you can just give me another chance, I know I can make it up to you. Please, please, Jess ..." "It should have never, ever happened. If I am your boyfriend and I mean anything at all to you, then it was meant for me, and no one else. You betrayed everything! You betrayed my trust and love for you. You are the one who pursued me, Jeremy. I didn't start this relationship. If you had feelings of love—or more likely, lust—for this other guy, why approach me? If it had not have been for you, I would not have almost been killed by your football team. I don't think I can get past this—it's just way too much." My voice was very calm but firm, and I refused to let the bastard see that he had torn my heart out. But that's exactly what he had just done to me. It was as if he took his hand, plunged it through my chest, and ripped my heart out. Then he threw it on the ground, and jumped up and down on it. I had to get away. I had to get out of there—away from the pain and breakdown I knew was inevitable. I stood up next to the table and looked down at him. "Can you at least tell me who it was, so I can be prepared when I see him?" In that moment he looked down at the table, unable to make eye contact with me. Jeremy Lawton looked like a defeated man for the first time in all the weeks I had known him. He knew that he was beaten and this time he had done something he could not fix with words ... or anything else, for that matter. "It's not important who it was. What is important is that I love you, Jess. You are the one I want." "You are so wrong, Jeremy. It is important. If I was the one you truly loved, then we would not be here talking about this. We would be at home in bed. We could be making love. You could be inside me right now. If I was the one you truly loved, you would have controlled your penis, and not stuck it into some other guy ... some guy who you say you have no feelings for." I continued, "You know, the sad thing is—and I don't know if you have thought about this or not—when you were fucking this guy, did you tell him you loved him? Does he have the same feelings of love for you that I did, and for that matter, I guess I still do? Have you thought that maybe you ripped his heart to shreds also? Did you ever stop to think what the hell you were doing, Jeremy?" I thought about the irony of it all as I asked Jeremy, "That's another sad, fucking thing here, Jeremy. Didn't you hear what I just said? I said I still love you and have feelings for you. How fucked up is that? You betrayed me, yet I still love you." Jeremy jumped in. "That's all that matters, Jess, that we still love each other and we can still make this work." "There is way more to it than that, Jeremy. Yes, I do still love you and will always care about you, but does that mean there is a future and a relationship with you? I really don't think so now, Jeremy. This is just way too much. I guess I just need time. However, I don't think even that will help." "Now, I asked you a question, and I think you at least owe me a response. I want to know who you did this thing with? I need to know who took your heart from me. I don't want to face this person." "Don't worry, please, Jess. You won't have to face him. He doesn't go to our school. He doesn't even live close to us. Just please let it go and forgive me." "Forgive you? Forgive you? I can't even begin to. There is something you're still hiding, Jeremy. We both know that." I was starting to get even more upset at this point as I still stood at the table side. Getting louder, I slammed my hand down on the table. "I want a name now, damn it! Jeremy, now!" As I yelled, the restaurant instantly turned quiet. I didn't care or even realize it at that point. He glanced up at me with a look in his eye I couldn't explain, but I knew the answer I was about to hear was something that would cut me even deeper. Looking back down at the table, Jeremy murmured a simple, one-word answer. He breathed, "Chad." I was right—it was like a blow to the gut, or a knife to the heart, taking all my air away. I got light headed and felt like I was going to pass out or something, but I knew I couldn't. I looked down at Jeremy with utter horror in my eyes. Without even thinking, I suppose I went on auto pilot. I pulled my open hand back, swinging it at his face. I made contact with a hard slap to the side of his face. It was completely silent in the restaurant with everyone now staring at us. Cody was standing a few feet away with Jeremy's credit card in hand, his mouth hanging open in disbelief. I knew I had to get out of there before my world came crashing down altogether. I turned and started to run. I ran right into Cody and knocked him to the ground. I didn't even stop to say I was sorry. I kept going and hit the front door at a good speed. I ran out of the restaurant into the dark of the night. Once outside, I realized that I had not been the one driving. I had no way to get home. There was no way in hell I was going back into the restaurant to ask him to take me home, though. I just ran as fast and hard as I could down the street and cut through some park. After about ten minutes, I stopped and sat down on a bench at the edge of the sidewalk. I was still in total shock. How in the fuck could he do this to me? What could he have been thinking? I started to cry and kept on crying. I cried my eyes out, I think. Meanwhile, back inside the restaurant, Cody picked himself up off the floor. He went to the table where Jeremy was still sitting. He had a look of concern on his face for Jeremy. The rest of the people slowly returned to their meals and conversations. Jeremy was also in some sort of shock and simply sat there in silence. Cody put his hand on Jeremy's shoulder and suggested the two of them go outside. He helped Jeremy to his feet and led him out the door to the parking lot. "If you want to talk, I will take a few minutes break?" Cody offered. "I fucked up! I screwed around on him. I've lost him," Jeremy managed to get out before starting to cry. "Wait a minute! I know you guys! You are the ones, or should I say, he is the one who was in the paper, right? The kid who was raped and almost killed! Oh my God, what that poor guy has been through! How could you do this to him?" Cody asked incredulously. "It's not that simple! It was not a random hook up or anything. It was with my best friend. I care—or did care—about him. It just sort of happened." "There is no excuse for what you did to him! You don't do that to anyone. Even tonight when I was flirting with you, you did nothing to stop it, even with your boyfriend right there. I am a jerk for doing it, but you're a bigger jerk for not stopping it," Cody said, getting upset himself. Jeremy just stood there. "Wait a minute, I heard you tell him in the end ... `Chad.' Is that the guy you had the affair with?" Jeremy could not answer. He just stared ahead. "Chad is the fucking asshole who beat that kid almost to death, isn't he? That's what I read in the paper. I also remember the paper said it was a group of your friends that did it. Am I right?" Cody began to raise his voice through his last bit of questioning. Jeremy still could not answer. He kept right on staring ahead. Cody was now totally pissed. Without warning, he clenched an avenging fist and took a swing at Jeremy. The first blow made contact with Jeremy's left eye, the second with his nose, and the third with his jaw. Jeremy just stood there, however, taking it like he knew he had it coming. The final blow came to his gut. Afterward, Jeremy doubled over and fell to the ground. Then Cody landed two swift kicks to his body. Jeremy just winced in pain as he heard a crack from inside his torso. Before turning to go back to work, Cody spit on Jeremy and left him there to himself. That's what I deserve, Jeremy thought. To be alone. —Jess's Point of View— After what seemed to me to be about five minutes, I looked at my cell phone. It was 12:30 in the morning. I was cold. I didn't know what to do or where to turn. I was not thinking clearly. I figured the only way home was to start walking. I was headed home when I thought, Oh my God! Where is home? I can't go to his house. There was no way in hell I was going near that bastard after what he had done. I started to cry again as I was walking. How could he do this to me? It's one thing to cheat on someone ... but to do it with the person that almost killed you? How fucked up is that? I also didn't want to face my dad that night. I just didn't want to talk to anyone. I reached for my wallet. Good! I had my new credit card. At least I could go to a hotel for the night and wouldn't have to sleep in the park or under a bridge ... that was a good thing. I headed toward downtown where there was a Super Eight. It was a nice place—nothing fancy, but it would be clean. I had walked about half way there when I felt a car pass me. The brake lights came on as I was passed, and the vehicle pulled over to the curb. At first my thoughts were, Who the hell is this and what the fuck do they want? I figured if it was someone that was going to kill me I might as well let them get it over with. It sure as hell will hurt less than what I am going through now. I approached the car on the passenger side. The driver rolled the window down. As I bent down, I saw a face I recognized. "Hey, it's Jess, right? Don't know if you remember me?" The figure asked as he bent over and looked out the window at me. "Yeah, that's me ... " I said, sniffling. I tried to hold back more tears, and quickly thought about the way I must look. I tried to compose myself. It must not have worked. "God, Jess, what is wrong? What are you doing out here at this hour?" the voice said as he reached to open the driver's side door handle. "Get in here, please." "I ... I really shouldn't ... I need to get home." Before I could do anything, though, the figure was out of his door and was standing next to me on the sidewalk. He put his arm around my shoulder and tried to give me some comfort as he pulled me into him. I began to weep as I clung to him. He helped me get into the car. I had no resistance left, so I simply complied. When he got into the car, he asked, "Do you want me to drive you home?" I must have had a look of fear or worse in my eyes. I grabbed the door handle and began trying to get away from him and the car. Before I could make any progress, however, he grabbed my arm and held me back. "We don't have to go to your place. Do you want to come home with me? My roommate is there, but she will be okay with it." All I could do was shake my head no. I was so upset, I couldn't even speak. I began almost involuntarily curling into a ball, not knowing what else to do. "Well, where do you want me to take you?" he asked. "I am not leaving you alone tonight." With a faint voice all I could get out was, "Super Eight." He must have understood what I meant because he put the car in gear and off we went down the street. In a matter of minutes we pulled into the parking lot of the Super Eight. There were only about five cars in the lot. He got out of the car and helped me into the hotel lobby. I walked, even though I could not really feel myself doing it. I am glad he was there to help me. We approached the desk. I reached into my back pocket and pulled out my wallet, handing it to him. We were greeted by a middle aged woman who did not look very friendly. "How may I help you gentlemen this morning?" she asked suspiciously. "We need a room for the evening please," he said. The woman stared at us. I am sure I know what she was thinking. She probably thought we were a gay couple that had had a fight or something. I am sure she thought we wanted the room to continue or fighting or fucking for the rest of the night. She gave us a very disapproving look down her pointy long nose. He handed her my credit card. She asked me what my name was and a couple of other questions. I could hear her, but I could not make my mouth work to respond. "I am sorry. If he can't answer, we won't be able to check you in," the clerk said rather snottily. "Fine. We will use my credit card ... put it under my name," he said. She took the card and ran it through the machine. "I am sorry, Mr. Chris Zodrow, there seems to be a problem. Your card comes back declined. Perhaps you two should go down to the strip motel near the river. They have rooms there by the hour, and they take cash. We don't really need your kind here anyway." I could tell Chris's blood was boiling at the comments, yet he remained standing there. Saying nothing, he put his arm around me and we turned to leave the hotel. Then a second voice came from behind the wall. "Just a minute, you two. Come back here. Mary, I will handle this." As we turned around, Mary strutted off with an incredulous look on her face. A young man came from out of sight behind the wall to stand at the desk. I recognized him immediately. It was Chase Reynolds, a senior jock that had graduated the previous year. "Give me Jess's card," Chase said. He took it and ran it through as he punched a few keys on the computer. "I am sorry for what happened before," Chase said with a smile as he handed us two key cards. "Can I help you guys or get you anything?" Chase asked sincerely. "No, thanks. I think we will be fine," Chris said as he was steering me toward the elevator. The room we were given was on the top floor of the hotel. We were soon there and inside. It was a great room. Obviously Chase had given us one of their better rooms with a king bed. I still had no feeling left in my body. I must have gone into some kind of shock after what had happened in the restaurant. I still could not figure out why Chase had been so nice to us. I would have figured him for another jock asshole like Chad and the rest of the boys were. I didn't need to think about that now, however. I had bigger problems on my mind. I sat on the side of the bed. I could hear Chris talking to me, but I comprehended none of what he was saying. Fifteen minutes passed, and then there was a knock on the door. Chris answered it. It was Chase with a cart. He had gone to the hotel kitchen and made us some sandwiches and brought along some drinks. "I thought the way it looked down in the lobby that you might be hungry," Chase said as he wheeled in the cart. Chase and Chris talked for a few minutes between themselves. I could not hear what was being said. Both of them looked at me with deep concern. Soon both of them were at my side, however, helping to get me undressed. When I was down to my underwear, they started moving me toward the side of the bed. They began to put me under the covers, but I pushed at my underwear. I wanted them off—I knew I would rest better ... that is, if I could rest at all. Chase knew what I wanted and helped get the underwear off my body. Even in my clouded state I still wondered what was up with this guy. I was soon in bed asleep. While I slept, Chase went out into the hallway into the next room, and came back in through the connecting door between our rooms. They left the door open as Chase said, "Let's go in here so Jess can rest." Chris had taken my cell phone. He and Chase began talking in the other room. Chris said, "I have no idea what is wrong with Jess. I found him wandering the streets on my way home. He was just in some kind of daze. He got very upset when I wanted to take him home." "Well, he has been though hell these past months, at least from what I have read in the paper. How do you happen to know Jess anyway? I knew him from school, or at least who he was. I guess I really never truly knew him, though." "Oh, I met him when he came into the jewelry store I work at to buy a present for his boyfriend. We kind of hit it off. He stood up to my boss and I got a decent commission out of the sale." "Yeah, he is going out with that jerk, Jeremy Lawton. I would not put anything past that guy. He always impressed me as the kind of person that trouble just followed around ... Wait! You said that Jess didn't want to go home?" Chase asked. "Yeah. When I suggested it, he just totally froze. He looked like he was scared or something." "I bet this has something to do with that asshole Jeremy. According to the paper, Jess has been living with Jeremy and his parents. I am thinking that's why he didn't want to go home. I bet Jeremy did something," Chase said, looking pained. "You could be right. I just wonder what is up. I don't know who to call or contact about him," Chris said as he opened my phone and started scrolling through my contacts list. "There are not many numbers in here. There is Jermz, The Lawtons, his dad—I am not sure I want to call any of them." "No, I agree ... that would not be good. Is there anyone else in there we can try?" Chase inquired. "The only other name is some guy named Daniel." "That's it! Call him! I know him, too, from school. He is an excellent guy. Daniel was the kicker on the football and is the one who helped Jess when Jess was almost killed. Because of that, he was pretty much outed himself as being gay. Call him, but just be careful what you say." Chris nodded and hit the number for Daniel. The phone rang twice. "Hey Jess, where are you guys?" came the voice on the other end. "Ah ... Daniel, this isn't Jess," Chris said. "Who the hell are you, and what are you doing with Jess's phone?" Daniel demanded. "My name is Chris—Chris Zodrow. I am a friend of Jess's," Chris explained. "Okay ... " Daniel still sounded suspicious of the caller. "I found Jess last night on my way home. He was wandering the streets alone about 1 a.m." "Wait! Wandering the streets? He was out with Jeremy last night! What the hell happened?" Daniel exclaimed. "I wish I knew, Daniel. Jess is in a state where he can't even talk right now. When I offered to take him home, he got violently upset." Daniel said, "I just figured those two were out late having a good time, and that's why they had not come home yet." "Daniel, I think all this has something to do with Jeremy, but I am not sure," Chris offered. "Okay, well, bring him here. I will take care of him." "I would love to, but first, he would not let me, second, he is asleep in bed," Chris advised. "Wait! You took him home? If you hurt him or did anything to him, I will fuck you up, man," Daniel growled protectively. "Whoa, Daniel, I would never hurt Jess in any way! I am his friend. I only want him to get better ... you have to believe me." "Well, where are you then? I will come there," Daniel said firmly. "We are at the Super Eight." "Fine, I am leaving now." Daniel started to hang up the phone. "Wait, Daniel. Chase says to come in through the front door, and use the main elevator and come up to room 525." "Chase? Who the fuck is Chase?" "He is a friend and he works here at the hotel." "Okay," Daniel said, satisfied for the moment. They both closed their cell phones. It wasn't long before there was a knock on the door. Chase answered it. When the door opened, Daniel immediately recognized Chase and knew that Chris's call had been accurate and not some kind of prank. Daniel looked at Chase with a softened looked on his face. He entered. The two exchanged a brief hug. "Well, it appears you two know each other." "Yeah, from school. Plus, Chase's dad owns this hotel. Not to mention we came out to each other when we were sophomores. We never dated or anything ... just helped each other a lot." "I was wondering how he had so much pull." "This is Chris," Chase said to Daniel. "Good to meet you, and thank you for helping Jess. Speaking of him, where is he?" "In the next room," Chris said, pointing to the open connecting door. "I will take it from here, Chris, you can go," Daniel said. "If it's all the same to you, I would like to stay. I feel kind of responsible now." "Have it your way. I am going to see what I can do. I will close the door for now, if you don't mind," Daniel said as he walked into the other room. Once there, he looked at Jess, who was sound asleep. —Jess's Point of View— Daniel thought it best not to wake me, so he stripped down to his birthday suit. He climbed in bed with me and snuggled into my body as close as he could. I didn't know what was happening, at least in not in so many ways. I knew somehow, though, that Daniel had come to take care of me. I could feel him and smell him. As I felt the covers move, Daniel lay next to me just looking at me. I was asleep, I think, but yet I knew what was going on in the real world. Daniel was staring at me with a look of concern on his face. He extended his hand, brushed his fingers through my hair, and then gently ran his fingers down my cheek. It was odd, but somehow I got some relief from his touch. I heard him whisper, "What is going on with you, Jess? Why are you hurting so badly?" I felt Daniel shift in the bed. He was soon in his usual place lying next to my right side. Once he was there facing away from me—I assume trying to get some rest himself—I rolled onto my side. I slid myself to rest on his strong back, and I put my arm over his body to pull him even closer. My cock came to rest in its favorite place, the crack of Daniel's ass. Meanwhile, in the other room, Chris relaxed on the bed while Chase stretched his body across the chair. They talked for a while, until Chase bacame tired and Chris started to fade as well. "Well, if I am going to stay the night, I'd better go down and pay for the room," Chris said. "You're not paying. The room is on me ... it's the least I can do," Chase responded. Chase nodded, got up, and headed for the other side of the bed. He shed his uniform down to his boxers. He looked tired. Chris took Chase's stripping as his cue to do the same. Each of them pulled back the covers on the different sides of the bed so that they could at last climb in to rest. They stretched out next to each other, not touching at first. After a couple of minutes, however, Chase rolled onto his side and placed his arm over Chris's mid-section. Chase then nuzzled his face into Chris's neck. He whispered, "Do you mind?" Chris caressed Chase's arm gently. "No, it's nice," he replied. Both of them were soon asleep. To be continued...
