The Wounds Within My Heart Part Three The Relationship Begins Chapter Five Nohea I stood before Pietro that morning after we showered. We had awoken at a little after 9:00 A.M., and since no one was up, we snuggled for a while just talking. Well, we did do that, but first, we used the restroom after awakening. It felt really nice laying in Pietro's arms, and as he held me, I told him about how much I loved our time together over the weekend. I also told him about how much I especially loved last night. He smiled when I said that, then made his usual happy sound. He hugged me tighter for a moment, then kissed me tenderly on the lips, and kissed my neck a couple of times just as tenderly. I returned the kisses, then rested my head on his chest as he gently stroked my hair. I could have easily fallen back to sleep because of how relaxing that was. He did stop for a moment, as if sensing my desire to sleep again. "Yeah, it's probably good you stopped," I said smiling up at him. "I love you Pietro. I love you more than anything, and I'll always treasure the memories of the weekend we shared together. I really wish it didn't have to end." "Neither do I," Pietro typed, once he retrieved his device. "Holding you in my arms last night was so special, and I can't see myself laying in bed at night without you here with me. I think the bed will feel rather cold once I'm alone again." "Yeah, I think my bed will feel the same," I answered. "I'm just working on enjoying the time we have together right now though." "So am I," he replied. "Do you know what else is hard to put into words?" I asked. "No, what?" he answered. "The connection we have," I said. "It truly felt like we were psychically linked or something, even when we had been apart. Sure, I felt like we were still connected when we would be away from each other at certain parts of the day while still at the blind school. I mean though, that I felt that link even more, once you had moved away. I felt like you were trying to look out for me, and..." I stopped so I could figure out how to express my feelings. My mind went to the dreams I was experiencing when I imagined what Pietro clearly had gone through when almost drowning. I began talking again. "I had been having a couple of really horrible dreams," I went on. "It was like I was within your body, and there was water. I could see that it was a swimming pool. I was being taken away in an ambulance, but it was as if I was seeing it through your eyes. I could see in the dream as if I had complete use of my vision. I could feel the shock of the defibrillator they use on a person's heart. I also could feel when they put the breathing tube down my throat, or your throat rather." Pietro gasped, then sat up. I could sense his eyes looking down at me totally fixed on my face. I sat up at that point as well, then he took his machine and began typing. After he told me the whole story, I understood. "Holy shit!" I breathed my voice just above a whisper. "Those weren't dreams, as much as they were signs that you were in trouble!" "Clearly they were," Pietro replied, reaching for my hand, then letting go to type again. "I had dreams about you too. I had dreams about you going through the hurt of not being able to be by my side while I was in the hospital, as well as not by my side in general. I could feel the deep hurt you were going through. I tried to think of a way to reach out to you." "A couple of times, I felt like I could almost sense you strongly, then it changed to only a little," I said. "It's truly amazing the bond we have. I don't ever want it to be broken." "Neither do I," he answered. "I want our bond and our love to grow stronger and stronger. I also want us to be boyfriends for always." "I want that as well!" I said. "I don't want anyone else but you. So, it's official? We're boyfriends?" "Absolutely!" he responded. We shared a deep and long kiss, then got up to get showered. It was just as well, for I could hear Pietro's parents moving around in the kitchen. I then heard Lexy talking to them. All these thoughts ran through my mind as I stood before Pietro after we returned back to his room. We had just put on our clothes, and with the exception of our shoes, we were fully dressed. I was looking up at him as he slowly caressed my cheek. I melted into him and he held me for a long moment. I could have stayed with him like that for all time! The knock on the door ended that moment. It was Amy calling that breakfast was ready. "We'll be there in a moment," I called. We had sausage and pancakes for breakfast that morning. It was really good, and Pietro had seconds. I watched, then decided that I could use another plate of food. We all talked while eating, and Bryan said that he really enjoyed having me over for that weekend. Amy said that she was really glad that Pietro and I were able to reconnect again, and Lexy agreed. "I really appreciate you guys having me over for the weekend too," I responded. "Thank you for that, and I also want to thank all of you for allowing Pietro and I to be back in each other's lives again! Thank you, Lexy, for working with my dad to bring us together again. I'll never forget it, and I'll always be grateful to you for that!" "You're welcome, Nohea," Lexy said. "I'm really happy that I could play a part in bringing you and Pietro back together again. I really hope that you guys can continue to be in each other's lives forever, and you're really good with each other." "I'm glad you stayed here with us this weekend," Amy added. "You're a really nice and caring person Nohea, and I can tell just how much Pietro really cares for you. There's a glow about you now, Pietro, that wasn't there before." Pietro made a sound of agreement, and then pushed away his plate after finishing the last bite of food. "I'm just wanting to enjoy the time we have left until I have to return home later," I said. "Me too," Pietro answered. After breakfast was finished, Pietro and I returned to his room, and we sat down to listen to some music. Just then, Bryan called for Pietro. I waited while he walked out of the room. He returned a moment later, and he told me that he had good news. "What is it?" I asked. "My school is closed tomorrow!" Pietro said, sitting down and putting his arm around me. "They're having to do a couple of meetings among the staff that they weren't able to reschedule. I don't know what's going to be happening with your school, but me being off tomorrow would mean that you and I could..." My phone sounded a text alert, and Pietro paused with typing. I checked the text, and it was from dad. I read it then smiled. "Your school too?" Pietro asked smiling. Voice Over on my iPhone read out the text, and Pietro was able to hear what it said without me having to slow it down. "It looks that way," I said. "I'll call my dad to get more details." After I finished up with talking with dad, I put down the phone. "We're off tomorrow as well," I said. "They're having basically the same meetings, and they're meeting with your school's teachers too." Pietro and I had the same idea, and I texted Dad while Pietro went to talk with his parents. Once he returned, and after Dad texted back, it was set. Pietro would be coming to my house to spend that Sunday night! Dad came to pick us up about 20 minutes later. Triston was back at the house with Aunt Beth, and the two of them were busy getting things ready for Sunday dinner. They would be getting a few more things from the store since Pietro would be joining us. After saying goodbye to everyone, Pietro and I got into my dad's car and we headed back home. Once back home, we entered the house just as the first drops of rain began. The rain started pounding down harder once Pietro and I got in my room and he got his bag unpacked. Dad was in his office putting his phone on the charger, and I then heard an in-coming text alert on my phone. Picking up the phone, I opened the text, and it was from Aunt Beth. She was welcoming us home, and she let me know that Triston said hi. I replied back that I couldn't wait to see the two of them, and I told her to tell Triston that I said hi as well. Soon Aunt Beth and Triston were coming through the door. I heard bags being set down in the kitchen, and I went out to help, with Pietro following behind me. He and Aunt Beth shook hands, and Triston hugged him. I was glad to see the warm reception he was getting from my aunt and brother. He was clearly fitting into the family really well. After putting away the groceries, we all visited in the living room for a bit. Pietro told us about the activities he was doing in school, as well as what his plans were for when he got older. He talked a little about wanting to go into some sort of social work in which he could work with other disabled people. I was sure he would be really good at that, and I told him so. Dad, Aunt Beth and Triston told him how much they supported him, and that meant a lot to hear. Eventually, we all separated, with dad and aunt Beth going into the kitchen to begin preparations for dinner. Triston went back to his room to decompress. I was glad to see that he was still calm, and that there were no signs of over-stimulation. That left Pietro and I. We went back to my room, and I sat down on the bed with Pietro closing the door then coming over to sit beside me. "I'm really glad to see that my family has taken a liking to you," I said as I snuggled into Pietro's side and he tightened his arm slightly around my shoulders. "Me too," he typed with his other hand. "I'm really glad that we were able to have you over here for tonight," I went on. "I definitely wasn't looking forward to being without you when I thought I'd be going back home and you staying back at your house. Thank God for school staff meetings." Pietro laughed, then agreed. "It looks like it's going to rain for most of if not the rest of the day," I said. "Do you know what you wanted to do after dinner?" "I'd love to spend more time with you," Pietro answered. "I was hoping we could cuddle for a while. I mean, that is, after we spend a little time with your dad, Beth and Triston." "That sounds good," I answered. "It definitely does," he replied. Author's Notes I know this is a short chapter this time around. I did want there to at least be a little more time for the two boys to talk about their connection and for Nohea to tell Pietro about his dreams. I hope you all like how I did with that. In the next chapter, everyone will get to read about the family and Pietro enjoying their dinner, as well as Nohea and Pietro enjoying a lot more alone time later in the evening. I really hope you guys like how that turns out. All that being said, I hope you're all having a good evening, and I'll see everyone in Chapter six.
