I have been reading the stories on Nifty for quite a while and decided that I would finally try to do one myself. I know I know I am definitely an idealist when it comes to some of the details of this story, but I hope you enjoy this! I will also warn you that this story will develop kinda slowly, as I hate stories that are so predictable. I will try not to give away the whole plot in the earlier chapters. If you are looking for a quick jerk off, this is not the story for you. Sorry, I know the feeling searching for them ;). Please feel free to send me an email and let me know what you think of the story. As usual, if you are under the legal age to read this sort of material or it is illegal to do so in the region you live in, please hit the red ?x? in the top right corner of your screen now. I retain all creative rights to this story. Any reference to people of the same name is purely coincidental. This is all fiction, minus the cities and the celebrities. Special thanks to my best friend Kai for reading each chapter over and making sure it doesn't suck too badly. I love you! I don't know what I would do without you! If you have the means to do so, please consider donating to keep this fantastic website up and running. I am truly appreciative of this website for allowing me to share my work. Help keep it going for poor college kids like me! Opinions are welcome- rylanhanley@gmail.com Thanks! Rylan The Wrong Twin - Chapter Ten: Get Your Shit Together I knew I was in for a nice long trip back to Anaheim as soon as Dylan replied to my text. I assumed he was pissed because he had to break off his date with Maria. I quickly tried to come up with reasons for why I was all the way down in Irvine, but the alcohol was definitely fucking with my head. I couldn't come up with any valid reason for why I would be down here. I wasn't really friends with anyone who lived around here, and I was afraid to use Jake as an excuse for why I was here. It was unlikely that Dylan knew Jake was gay, but if Jake outted me to the school, I didn't want Dylan to know that I came here with him. That would simply validate Jake's story in Dylan's mind. Or at least it would create a seed of doubt. I was sure that Dylan would believe me if I told him that Jake was lying, but I didn't want to give Dylan any reason to doubt my story, if it was needed. About ten minutes after I made my way outside of the house, I saw Dylan's red Porsche Cayman pull up. He stopped in front of the house and I got in. "Hey thanks for coming to get me Dyl. My ride completely ditched me and..." "What the fuck are you doing down here in Irvine?" Dylan interrupted me. "You fucking smell like alcohol and sex. What gives?" I was taken aback by the fact that in a mere thirty seconds he deduced that I was both drinking and had sex. That was extremely impressive. I had once again underestimated my best friend. "Well I ran into someone from school that was coming to the party. I had nothing else better to do. Everyone else already had plans tonight, and I didn't feel like sitting at home and sulking to myself about not having anyone in my life. So I decided to go out and have fun! Fucking sue me!" I yelled. "Don't you raise your voice at me you ungrateful prick. You should be thankful that I even came here and picked you up!" Dylan countered. "You know I only care about you. We have been best friends since you moved here and I have never seen you act like this. Get your shit together! Sure Annie is a nice girl and all, but she is certainly not worth getting drunk and hooking up with random chicks over!" Right. He thought this was about Annie. Still not about to correct him. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that he was right. This was completely foolish of me. I already have lost one close friend in Kayden over this kiss, I am certainly not about to lose another one. "You are right Dylan. I am sorry I yelled at you. I have no idea why I am taking this so hard. I shouldn't be acting this way. I will get my shit together I promise. This is certainly not me.," I countered. "Much better. There is the clear thinking, level-headed Isaac Taylor I know and love! Is she really that special to you? I mean you haven't even gone out on a date with her," Dylan reasoned. Now I knew answering this question would be like avoiding landmines. I had to be as careful as possible to avoid revealing who my true feelings were for, while not giving too vague of answers so that Detective Davis would be suspicious. All while coming off a buzz from alcohol. What a fucking challenge this would be. "Well I know that we haven't known each other for long, but I still have never met someone that I have so much in common with. I mean, it may seem stupid, but I have never felt like this before. I don't quite understand it, but it is definitely there," I replied. I felt like that was an adequate answer for his question. It was vague, yet answered his question and was actually pretty truthful if I thought about it. Kayden and I had become pretty close in the short time that we had known each other. Plus Annie and I have quite a bit in common in well, so it was a plausible story to use. Yay me! "Yeah I suppose I understand. It does seem to me that you two do have a lot in common. I can understand why you feel the connection. You two probably have more in common than Maria and I have," Dylan concluded. "But that doesn't meant that it is acceptable for you to go to a random party with God knows who without any of your close friends and have sex. I picked you up this time out of pity, but I can promise you Isaac that next time I will not come pick your sorry ass up." "Alright, alright it won't happen again I promise." We rode the remaining five minutes or so in silence, which was quite fine with me. I was beginning to feel rather tired as the effects of the alcohol wore off. When we arrived at Dylan's house, I thanked him once more and proceeded to walk over to my house to bed. I had a long night, and still a lot of thinking to do. Once I got up to my room, I decided it was time to do some reflective thinking. First off, what the fuck was I thinking going to some random party with a guy I just met? I don't do stuff like that. I think that may have been the second time I have ever been drunk in my life. The first was when my family was on vacation in Mexico, but that doesn't really count. I mean let's face it, anyone can get drunk in Mexico with no problem. Secondly, I just hooked up with a guy. Me. Isaac James Taylor. And if I am honest with myself, I enjoyed it. I mean sure the alcohol had something to do with my lowered inhibitions, but Jake going down on me was awesome. I suppose in retrospect, I should have returned the favor. However, I don't think I am ready to do that. I am surprised I even initiated the whole thing. I must have had more to drink than I realized. Fuck. Jake. I totally forgot about him. Oh shit!!! What if he outs me? What if he took a picture or something? What if someone from the party says something? Oh my goodness my life is ruined!!! I should text Jake right away and apologize before he gets all pissy and tells people I made out with him. Also, reputation aside, it would be the right thing to do to apologize. I mean I was a dick to him (no pun intended! Haha). (Author's note: when I use asterisks in the following conversation, that indicates that the communication is being done via texting...one asterisk represents Isaac, while two represents texts from Jake) *Hey Jake, it's Isaac. I just wanted to apologize for my actions at the party. I realize now that I was a complete asshole to you. I should have never allowed you to go down on me* Now to wait for the response. Fortunately, I didn't have to wait long. **Don't worry about it, Isaac. I understand. I know you aren't gay. I was taking advantage of you** Well, I certainly wasn't expecting that. Shit. Now if I ever do come out, Jake will be pissed because he will realize that I am, in fact, gay, and took advantage of him actually. But, on the other hand, if I admit to him that I might be gay, I risk him outing me to everyone. What to do!!! *Listen Jake, I may or may not be gay. I think I am at least curious. But I just wasn't ready to give a blowjob. I knew that. I should have stopped you. I am really sorry. Also, I BEGGGGGG you not to tell anyone about my potential homosexuality. I am CERTAINLY not ready for that.* What a big fucking risk that was. But I knew that somewhere down the road, this was bound to creep back up and cause a huge problem for me in the future. It was best to nip this situation in the bud and come clean. **Ohhhh wow, I didn't see that coming. Ok, that makes a lot more sense. I appreciate your honesty. I will keep your secret, on one condition...** Oh fuck. *Umm...fine name it.* **You have to go out on one date with me.** Hmm...well that wasn't too unreasonable of an offer. I mean Jake does seem like a cool guy. One date couldn't hurt..right? *Ok fine! But I have two conditions. One, it can't take place in Anaheim or anywhere around here. And two, there cannot be expectations going into this date of sex or relationships or anything.* **Done. I will pick you up next Friday night at 6. Dress in a polo and khakis.** Well, that certainly went better than I thought it would. Honesty pays off kids! ************************************************************************************* ***** Nerves usually don't bother me. But for some reason, I had butterflies in my stomach all day before our first game. Practice went normal, as did school on Monday. Today, however, I was a bit nauseous. Typically, I remain composed and focused. I have no idea why I was all worked up today. I think part of it had to do with the fact that we were playing Irvine today at home. I knew I would have to face Jordan again. Also, the fact that Kayden still texted Jordan all day long, despite the fact that we were playing him that night, sorta pissed me off. I mean seriously dude, this is more important than your one week old fucking relationship. Irvine was a tough team. It really sucked that we had to face them in our first game. I felt like we had state title hopes, but so did they. Basically, an early season loss could derail your entire season. I knew what was at stake. I was afraid that Kayden didn't, and that could kill us. I guess it didn't help that Kayden still ignored me. Someone really needed to get over himself. Our team sat together during lunch, and when I attempted to talk strategy with him, he simply turned to his phone and continued to text Jordan. What. The. Actual. Fuck. I was really pissed off, but I chose not to make a scene. I knew that this could have a huge negative impact on our team chemistry. Fortunately, up until this point, the team remained relatively unified, despite the quarrel between Kayde and I. I honestly tried not to think about it, but I couldn't get Kayden and Jordan out of my mind the last half of the day. I couldn't decide whether or not it was because I was still jealous, or because I was pissed at Kayden. That's when it dawned on me. Why am I mad at Kayden and not Jordan? I should be furious at Jordan! I fucking told him that I may like Kayden, and yet he still went after him!! He should have known as soon as he met Kayden that that was the boy I was talking about. What a fucking prick!!!!! I trusted him with my information, and he used me! He knew Kayden was gay and went after him!!!! Right then and there, I decided I was going to fuck him up during the game. I took that attitude into the locker room when we began to lace them up for warm-ups. "Jeez, Isaac, what has gotten into you?" my friend Alex asked. "Just focused for tonight Alex. I know what is on the line, and I am ready to go out and make sure we start this season off with a bang," I replied. My intensity and focus was all for not in the first period of the game. My line, with myself, Alex, and Pat, was matched up with their top checking line, while Jordan's line was matched up with our third line. Our third line consisted of our more defensive forwards, while my line and Kayden's line were considered to be more offensive oriented. It always makes more sense for the good defensive lines to be matched up against the good offensive lines. So anyways, I obviously didn't get to see any ice time when Jordan was out there. Nonetheless, my line still played very well. Alex scored once, with Pat and Dylan getting the assists. However, one of Jordan's line mates also scored a goal. We finished the period tied at 1-1. The second period was more of the same close checking game. It was really physical out there. I knew I would need some time in the hot tub once I got home from this game. There was so much on the line, and for it being our first game of the season, my muscles were screaming at how much work they were doing. There was no more scoring after fifteen minutes of play. Fortunately, we managed to get a scrappy goal, when Kayden's line mate Vince put in a rebound off of a shot from the point. We were barely holding on to the lead when I jumped on the ice with around five minutes left in the period, and went up to the faceoff circle to the right of the Irvine goalie. Much to my surprise, I saw Jordan taking the draw against me. He gave me a smirk, which caught me off guard, and he won the draw cleanly. Needless to say, that really pissed me off. The puck was then moved from behind the net, up the boards and into our defensive zone. Dylan picked up the puck behind Kyler (the goalie), and attempted to move the puck up the boards and out of our zone to Alex, who was on the left wing. Unfortunately, a kid from Irvine intercepted the pass and began to set up their offense. I saw him look towards Jordan, who was skating in the center of the ice with his head down. I knew this was the perfect time to send him a message. I put my head down and skated hard at him, plowing my shoulder right into him. He never saw it coming, but he sure as shit felt it. I put every ounce of my weight into that hit. The ref immediately blew the whistle with his arm up. It was only then that I realized the pass never came to him. Instead, the player saw me coming and chose to dump the puck in behind the net. For those of you that don't know hockey, you cannot just hit a player who doesn't have the puck. That is interference. I knew I would be in the penalty box for two minutes for that one. But it was certainly well worth it. Jordan was fine, and jumped right back up in my face. "Ohhh nice hit pussy. Way to be a man and hit me when I am not looking," He said. "Fuck you asshole. You deserve anything coming your way bitch," I replied. "Is someone jealous that I got Kayden and you didn't? Look at the poor little baby. All heartbroken and..." Jordan didn't get a chance to finish. I punched him right in the facemask. The ref broke us up and informed me that that was also a penalty. Therefore, I would be in the sin bin for four minutes, two for interference and two for roughing. Since Jordan didn't throw a punch, he would not be penalized. Fuck. I paid for those four minutes in a big way. While I was sitting in the box, Jordan managed to score two power play goals. That meant that going into the third period, we were down 3-2. And it was all my fault. I knew coach was going to be pissed. Once we got into the locker room, I reached my stall and felt a push from behind. I turned around to see Kayden looking all pissed. "What the fuck was that cheap shot on Jordan about?!?!" He screamed. "Are you seriously fucking questioning me?! He is on the other team! Tell your boyfriend to keep his head up and we won't have to worry about it!!!!!" I shot back, getting right back up into his face. I could feel my face reddening and my fists clenching. "Oh so that's what this is about? I am gay and Jordan is my boyfriend?! Are you fucking kidding me?! Get over it you fucking homophobe!!!!" He yelled again. Turning to walk away. "Listen up you fucking prick, I am not a homophobe!!!!" I shouted as I grabbed him from behind. Just then, I felt a pair of strong hands grab me by the shoulders and yank me backwards, causing me to fall on my ass. "Enough you two!" Coach Carney bellowed. He was a large man at 6'4" and could throw me around like a rag doll. "I have no idea what the fuck is going on between you, but I am sick of this bullshit!! Isaac, that hit was so fucking stupid. What were you thinking?" I just sat on the ground avoiding his eyes. I really had no answer. I let my emotions get away from me, and that was simply unacceptable. "Yeah, that's what I thought. It was a bonehead move that cost us the lead," he continued. "Now, our offense hasn't been able to generate anything all night. So I think it is time we shake things up a bit. Jason, you are back on the line with Alex and Pat. Isaac, you will be centering Kayden and Vince this period." "But Coach!" Kayden protested. "None of your shit. Don't be selfish. I honestly don't give a rat's ass why you two won't play on the same line. But you better work it out or otherwise you are both cut from the team. Get your shit together and let's go!" He screamed. I wasn't sure if that was directed towards just Kayden and I, or the whole team. But it was clear from the silence that we all got the message. I glanced up at Kayden, and our eyes met. "Look, let's just put this aside for fifteen minutes and play some hockey," I offered. "Fine, for the team," He replied. The third period started out the same as the first two, tight checking and great defense. Finally, after about ten minutes into the final twenty of the game, the switch clicked in my head, and my vision on the ice returned. Kayden scooped up a loose puck in the neutral zone near our bench, and I looked up and saw that the left defender was out of position. He pinched up the boards on Kayden, leaving a large gap between himself and his partner on the right side. I immediately made my move, cutting up the center of the ice. I didn't even need to tap my stick on the ice for a pass, Kayden saw me and hit me with a perfect tape-to-tape saucer pass right to my blade. I shielded the right defender off with my long reach and snapped a perfectly placed wrist shot right under the bar over the glove-hand of the Irvine goalie. Tie game. Ten minutes left. From the faceoff following my goal, to the final horn, every inch on the ice was earned, not given. I couldn't find any space whatsoever. There was no room to breathe from either side, that's how closely the defense was playing on the opponent. The horn signaling the end of the third period blew, with the score remaining tied at 3. As per California High School Hockey rules, we would play five minutes of sudden death, 5 on 5, overtime. If there was no score after those five minutes, a best-of- three shootout would decide the game. I was determined not to allow it to come to that. I informed Coach Carney that my line would be taking the opening faceoff. He decided to trust me, and sent myself, Kayden, and Vince out for to begin the overtime. Irvine countered with Jordan's line. As if I needed any extra motivation to win this game. "You are going down, bitch. I won Kayden, and I am going to win this game too," Jordan remarked as we bent over to take the faceoff. I was too focused to respond. He was not getting into my head this time. Jordan still managed to win the draw back to his defenseman. I made a quick mental note to practice face-offs. I got beat way too many times in the circle that night. Anyways, the puck moved up the right side to the Irvine left winger. He collided with Dylan along the boards, who managed to kick the puck to me in the center. I looked up, and my vision clicked again. I could tell that I could beat the right defender with a quick move, which would draw the left one over in support. All I would need would be a pass to my winger, who would have a breakaway to end the game. I looked over at Kayden along the left wing boards, who made eye contact with me, nodded, and took off down the left wing boards. I made my move around the defender with a quick between the legs move. The left Irvine defender came in support, just as I predicted he would. As soon as he committed to me, I fired a no-look saucer pass right to the blade of Kayden's waiting stick. The look of panic on the Irvine defender's face was absolutely priceless. He knew he was fucked. Kayden took my pass and skated all alone into the offensive zone. I knew exactly which move he was going to do. He faked a forehand shot, and then proceeded to shift the puck over to his backhand. This quick shift caused the goalie to open up his five hole, trying to cover the left side of the net. Kayden quickly recognized the open five hole, and shifted the puck back to his forehand, and then slid it easily through the goalie's five hole and into the back of the net. The home crowd went nuts!!! It was such a gorgeous move! We won!!!! I was thrilled!! I skated over and joined the rest of my teammates in mobbing Kayden. It was the perfect beginning to our season! We moved into the handshake line. As captains, Jordan and I went last. I took this opportunity to give my warning shot to him. "Hey Jordan, nice game," I offered. "But just remember, I won this one, and I will win Kayden too." He just glared at me and moved on to shake Coach Carney's hand. After the game in the locker room, everyone couldn't stop talking about my no-look pass and Kayden's dirty move on the Irvine goalie. I was so excited. I could feel the tension between Kayde and I were slowly melting. I thought I may have found my chance, so I took it. Kayde finished up his shower before I did, and made it out to the parking lot before I had a chance to catch up to him. I found him standing next to his car talking to Jordan. I knew this could be a testy situation, so I decided to yell from a distance. "Hey, Kayde! Great goal!" I yelled. "Thanks Isaac! Couldn't have done it without that disgusting pass of yours!" He yelled back. "Haha thanks bro! Hey we should grab coffee sometime this week! I think we have some things to work out and talk about!" "Sure Isaac, I would love to do that!" He responded. I had a huge smile on my face, and I certainly didn't miss the scowl plastered across Jordan's face. My night couldn't have been any better! Sorry about the delay, my computer was having driver problems. I finally have it back and plan on doing one more chapter before the end of my Winter Break, which ends on Monday. I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! Hope you liked this chapter. Feel free to drop me a line. I am very busy, but I respond to every email.
