David (dlee169@hotmail.com) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tommy and Tanner, Chapter 60 By Friday afternoon, the campus was nearly deserted. Students had the whole week off and very few were hanging around longer than necessary. Even most of the foreign exchange students had been invited to various homes for the traditional American holiday. The ones that weren't would be housed in the small hotel connected with the student union and be treated to a festive dinner courtesy of a local church. The Middleton school system was on the same schedule as the university, so younger siblings were home looking forward expectantly to a week away from classes and the return of their older brothers and sisters. A few of the parents, like Teri and Tark, would be free for the same period of time. When Tim arrived home after dropping Melody at her house, he was practically attacked by his brothers. Tuck was eager to share a nearly bone-crushing hug with him. Tim marveled at the boy's strength. He seemed to have grown up a lot since he'd seen him last. After exchanging hugs and shoulder punches with the males and a hug from his mother, Tim went to find Tori who was just waking up from a nap and about to cry for someone to pick her up. When she saw him, her face broke into a big smile. Although he'd been away a couple of months, she hadn't forgotten him. He changed her diaper and brought her downstairs to the family room where his brothers were assembled. Tori babbled and cooed all the way. Tark and Teri were in the kitchen nearby preparing a dinner which featured beef stroganoff, one of his favorite meals. All of the attention being lavished on him made him feel like the prodigal son must have when his father served the fatted calf at a party in his honor. ---------- At Lee and Peter's house, there was a similar celebration of homecoming. The men were going all-out to let Chris and Drake know how welcome they were. In addition to Jared, who idolized them, Chris's younger brother, Jake, was there to meet them. Because Jake had been living with his dad since their parents' divorce proceedings had begun, he wasn't restricted from having contact with his gay brother or anyone else he cared about. Chris was delighted to see Jake, and lifted the 8th grader off the floor when he hugged him. Drake greeted him the same way, hiding the momentary sadness that came with knowing he would probably never have that kind of relationship with anyone in his estranged family again. But when he stopped to think of it, he really didn't want to see any of them either – especially Cathy who had betrayed him, though he might enjoy seeing what remained of her car. After their initial greeting, Jake handed Chris an envelope which he was delivering for their father who was away on a business trip and wouldn't be back until Wednesday. Chris's eyes widened when he saw that it was stuffed with cash. He thought it would be bad manners to take the time to count it, but noted that the bills were mostly fifties with a couple of hundreds at the back of the pile. He estimated it to be over $1,000 which would be very welcome toward paying next semester's bills. Because he was off work early and didn't have to commute like Lee did, Peter had taken care of the meal preparations. He had a ham baking in the oven along with sweet potatoes. He had originally thought of roasting a couple of chickens, but had decided it would be too much like Thanksgiving dinner which was coming up soon. Drake and Chris were so hungry for a home-cooked meal that they wouldn't have minded. He could have prepared about anything and it would have been welcome. ---------- This guest list has grown way out of proportion," Tark commented to Teri. "I don't know how we'll pull it off." "Don't worry, dear, yes there will be a multitude of people, but with the help of Mom, Lara, Jennifer, and you, of course, we'll get it done without having to bless five loaves and two fishes," Teri joked. "But, the list keeps growing," he remonstrated. "So far, there are five of us, plus Dad, Lara, Jeri, and Floyd. That's nine immediate family members. Then we have Lee, Peter, Jared, Drake, Chris, Chris's little brother, Jake, and their dad, John. That brings us up to 16. When we add the three Bakers plus Dorothy and Herbert, we'll have 21, if my math is correct - and I'm not counting the babies!" "Well, that's not quite all. I've invited Melody and her parents too. I think it's time to admit that they may become Tim's in-laws. If not, Steve and Marge are still wonderful people to have as friends. So that's an even two dozen without the two baby girls." "I still don't see how we can cook for that many people and have it all on the table at once." Tark said. "Jennifer is cooking the two turkeys the day before. She will remove the meat from the bones and we'll reheat it in the oven on Thursday while the green bean casseroles are baking. Since we have a double oven, we'll be able to do that along with the yams and dressing. Lara is in charge of salads and will help Mom with the pies, Peter is bringing the wine, Dorothy is making her famous cookies, and you, with the help of the boys, will be pealing several bags of potatoes which we'll cook in two big pressure cookers. The only real last-minute jobs will be mashing the potatoes and making the gravy. I know you can do the potatoes in the big mixer in two or three batches while I make the gravy. We'll serve it buffet style which will make it move more quickly." ---------- The grandparent generation arrived on Tuesday afternoon to be there in time to do a lot of the food preparation the next day. Jeri and Floyd arrived first and got settled into Tuck's room. Jim and Lara came soon after. They said they'd be sharing whatever bed was left. Teri didn't bat an eye, but thought it rather strange since the two had gone to such lengths to let everyone know they weren't sharing a motel room the last time they came. It all made sense when the pair held up their left hands, showing off their shiny gold wedding bands. "What is this?" Tark grinned. "I thought I was going to be your best man this time around." "You are my best man, Son. Well, the oldest of all my best men," he corrected as he made a sweeping gesture toward his grandsons. "We decided to elope," Lara said. "Since we've both been married before and we're a little old for the big church affair, I convinced Jim that we should exchange our vows barefoot on the beach in the Bahamas. I hope I didn't spoil things for the rest of you. I never thought..." "I was teasing," Tark reassured his new stepmother with a hug. "I think it's wonderful. Welcome to this extended clan!" "Thank you! You've all made me feel like I'm part of the family already." "What would you like us to call you?" Tim asked. "You're too young to be a grandma." "I'm not too young, but you're a little young to be a lothario in training," she joked. "You may call me Grandma or Grandma Lara, or just Lara if you like." "I'd like Grandma Lara since you gave me a choice." Tim replied as his brothers nodded. "I'm fine with that too," Tuck spoke up. "Neither you nor Grandma Jeri look old enough to have a grandson Tim's age." "Tim, you've just been one-upped by your youngest brother. Your parents have done a wonderful job of teaching you good manners, with a bit of blarney on the side," Lara teased. "These boys are so cool that butter wouldn't melt in their mouths," Jeri agreed. "Since we didn't have a wedding reception, I hope everyone will drink a little toast with us," Jim announced as he opened the cooler he'd brought. After uncorking the champagne, he set out enough plastic flutes for everyone and filled them. Tucker felt pleased that he was included and that his mother didn't give him any disapproving looks or words of admonition about joining in a celebration that included alcohol. "As the son of the groom, I claim the right to make the first toast," Tark said. "Here's to a long and happy marriage!" Everyone took a sip. The adults all added their words of blessing, and by the time it was the boys' turn, their glasses needed replenishing. Tuck grinned as his grandfather came to refill his glass, but he asked him to stop about halfway. He was going to show restraint by not overdoing it. Teri was pleased with his self-discipline. ---------- The accommodations for the rest of the week ended up with Tuck sleeping in the trundle bed in Tommy and Tanner's room. Tim invited him to share his queen sized bed, but Tuck thought his older brother would move around too much during the night and hog the covers. Much as he loved him, he'd prefer to have the bed to himself unless he shared it with someone he wanted to cuddle. Having the bathroom between the two rooms meant that all the guys could sleep nude as usual without worrying about throwing something on in order to go pee. They certainly had no qualms about being naked together. ---------- Wednesday was a busy day of food preparation for all the women in the house. The guys set the dining room table while the three ladies were in the kitchen. The boys also brought in a couple of long folding tables and chairs to use in the family room to accommodate the overflow of guests. Many of the adults would be seated in the dining room. Tark and Teri, along with their parents would be there with the Bakers, Stacks, and Dorothy and Herbert. More than twelve could have been comfortably seated there, but the thought was that John would rather be near his sons, Chris and Jake in the family room since he didn't know anyone else very well. He had become well enough acquainted with Peter and Lee to trust them with keeping Jake while he was on a recent trip, and they would be nearby to visit with him too. When it was time for dessert, they would go to the family room so everyone could mingle. The aromas of pies baking made everyone's mouth water all day. They were very happy to learn that Jeri and Lara had conspired to make two extra apple pies so that everyone could have a taste for dessert on Wednesday night. ---------- When Thursday finally arrived, the guys bustled around after breakfast to set up the family room and help peel potatoes while the ladies decided which dishes would go where on the counters for serving. Todd, Jennifer, and Brendon arrived at 11:00 with the turkey meat in large pans to go into the oven with the bean casseroles. Brendon wanted Tim to take him down to the basement to show him some kempo moves, but Tim deferred to Tommy and Tanner because they were much better at it than he was. The boys kept him entertained while the other guests arrived. Remarkably, the lad stayed focused on what the older boys were teaching him. They decided to recommend that Todd enroll him in a beginner's class for boys his age at the Shogun. They would make sure to talk to him when Brendon wasn't within earshot so as not to get him wound up for it in case Todd didn't agree. When all the guests were there, the potatoes mashed, and the gravy made, Tark asked everyone to assemble in the family room where they bowed their heads while he offered a simple prayer of thanks for the food and the many blessings they'd all received in the past year. Dorothy and Herbert were invited to start the line with the grandparents and guests following. Teri and Tark were holding back to be last, but their sons insisted that they go ahead of them. Melody stayed back too, in order to be with Tim. Dinner was a leisurely affair, accompanied by several bottles of a fine white wine that Lee and Peter had supplied. The older boys and Melody were allowed a glass each, and Brendon was given cranberry juice. He complained bitterly about being left out, so Todd let him come into the dining room to take a sip from his glass. The little boy's face clearly revealed that he didn't like it at all. His father told him to be careful what he wished for because sometimes it turned out not to be what you thought it would be. Whether or not those words of admonition would stick with him, Todd figured it wouldn't hurt to make the point. After the main courses of dinner, everyone selected their desserts and took them to the family room so that they could all be together in one place. The boys brought in a few extra chairs from the dining room to supplement the seating. The crowd was large enough that it spilled over into the kitchen, but that still allowed for mingling among the guests. Dorothy smiled the whole time. Her old house was alive again like it had been when her husband and children were there. She was pleased that she had made the right decision in "selling" it to Tanner for the $500 of earnest money he'd given her to save it for him to purchase. As she looked over at the boy, she couldn't help but think of the unselfish love in his heart that motivated his actions. She could also tell that he adored Tommy and that the two made each other happy. She felt the same affection for others in the room – Lee and Peter, chief among them. They were sons to her. It was like the second family that Job was given after his first one had been tragically taken away. In taking Chris and Drake, as well as Jared, into their home, the men were following in her footsteps of giving a helping hand to kids who needed it. Yes, this was her family. "Are you okay, Love?" Herbert asked. "I thought I saw a couple of tears." "Tears of joy," she beamed. "I have a loving husband and a houseful of children and grandchildren. I have so much to be thankful for!" Dorothy wasn't the only adult feeling blessed at this holiday gathering. Chris's dad had thought he and Jake would be eating in some restaurant because he wouldn't have had time to prepare a festive meal for the two of them. As it was, he got to be with both of his sons and had a splendid meal to boot. He felt kind of guilty that his only contribution had been in the form of a store-bought veggie tray, but his hosts had seemed pleased with his participation. As he sat watching the scene around him, John thought of how fortunate he was. He had the love of his sons and Drake. His wife, who hadn't been affectionate in years, was now completely out of his life. She had settled for less than he'd expected because of moving in with a boyfriend whom she wanted to marry quickly. The whole experience hadn't left him penniless. He too was thankful. ---------- Dorothy and Herbert were the first to depart. They said that as much as they'd like to stay, nap time was calling them. Of course, the ladies in charge of the cooking didn't let them go home without a sizeable "care package" with plenty of leftovers for supper later, and probably enough for lunch on Friday. The Bakers left next. They felt it was time for Brendon to unwind and get out of the boys' hair. He'd kept them on the go from the moment he'd arrived. He was begging Todd for kempo lessons and asking to be taken to activities at the high school to watch Tuck and Jared wrestle, and Tommy and Tanner swim. He was quite interested in both sports. Todd said he'd do his best to fulfill his son's wishes. John departed soon after the Bakers, taking Jake with him and asking Chris and Drake to come by his place the next day. He invited Lee, Peter, and Jared to join them for lunch too. Jake wasn't eager to leave because he'd been having fun with Jared, but he understood that they probably shouldn't wear out their welcome. Teri convinced Melody's parents and Peter and Lee's household to stay for a longer visit and help eat leftovers later. Jeri already had the turkey bones simmering in a large pot for homemade soup to accompany sandwiches and whatever salads hadn't been wiped out. The adults sort of migrated to different areas by gender, with the men and boys watching football in the family room and the women visiting in the living room. The arrangement wasn't completely like a Quaker meeting, because Melody stuck closely by Tim. The ladies ended up in small conversation groups rather quickly. Teri and Marge discussed the growing relationship between their children and agreed that they would support the couple if they decided to get married before they graduated from the university. "I suspect they will want to move in together in the next year or so and I'd rather they got married first," Marge confided. "I can understand the pressure these days about not waiting until they exchange vows, but I think formal commitment is a good thing." "I agree." Teri said. "Your daughter is a lovely girl in every way, and I'd be very pleased if she turns out to be Tim's wife. They seem well matched and I love how they take care of Tori. They'll make great parents." "I think they'd produce beautiful children too, because they're both very good looking. Your son is a handsome young man as well as a compassionate one. Melody will be lucky to have a husband with qualities that are deeper than good looks." ---------- After watching the game they were most interested in, the boys, minus Tim, went up to Tommy and Tanner's room where they played video games and fooled around on laptops. Tim took Melody to his room for some time alone. They were circumspect, leaving the door open, and not engaging in anything more than some kissing before falling asleep nestled on his bed. Tommy awakened them when Teri called them to eat around 7:00, but not before he took a picture with his phone. ---------- At the Mosbeck's home, Devin and Andy spent the day caring for the twins and having a little time together when they napped. Cathy, Charley, and Chris Roberts all had to work on the holiday and were planning to have a traditional dinner as an extended family on Friday. "Family" was the correct term for their growing relationship because all of them knew the boys wanted to be married as soon as they turned 18. Practically from the moment they'd become acquainted, they had felt a connection that some people never realize in a lifetime. Fortunately, their parents understood and supported them. Nick and Nikki were up to some of their usual sibling rivalry, but their teasing wasn't as intense as it had been in the past. Cathy had admitted to Devin that his fake spanking of Nick during last year's snow storm had taught Nikki a lesson that seemed to be lasting. Charley had agreed, but had also joked that his younger son was finally "growing a pair." Nick didn't put up with as much hassling from his sister without pushing back, and she was less bossy as a result. The boys experienced a fairly lively, but civilized day with the twins. The two munchkins even played a couple of board games together without getting into a squabble over who won. Before nap-time, they settled on the sofa in the family room between Andy and Devin for reading time. Each got to choose one story and they both went to their rooms without a fuss when it was time. "Would you like to take a little nap with me?" Devin grinned, when his siblings were fast asleep. "Would we have to sleep?" Andy asked with an equally big grin. "Not if we lock the door..." The boys didn't engage in much conversation after that. Their communication mostly involved body language punctuated by giggles, kisses, and lustful moaning. They stripped quickly and crawled into bed. It had been several days since they'd had the chance to make love and they could barely wait. As they kissed and fondled each other, their steady flow of natural lube gave testimony to the intensity of their needs. When Devin began to massage the opening to Andy's most private place, the latter pulled his legs up to allow easier access. "Take me," he moaned. "Don't you want to save it for Christmas?" "It's only a month away. I don't think I want to wait any longer." "Let me get the lube and something to put under us." Devin said in a voice quavering with excitement. Devin got the items and began to lovingly prepare his boyfriend for their first experience of coupling. He wanted it to be pleasurable for both of them. He was ready to press on when they were interrupted. "I'm sick!" Nikki cried rapping on the door. I'm gonna throw up!" "Run to the bathroom and try to do it in the toilet. I'll be there in a minute," Devin called out. "Damn the luck!" he griped as he threw on his sweatshirt and jeans. "I'll come too," Andy sighed as he also began to dress. At least their luck held out as far as the barfing was concerned. Nikki had made it to the toilet before unloading everything she'd eaten so far that day. She had gotten some of it on her blouse, so Devin went to find her a clean one while Andy got her washed up. He felt her forehead which seemed rather warm, so when Devin returned, he suggested they take her temperature. Nikki was running a fever of just around 100 F, so there was no cause for alarm at the moment. However, they would monitor it to make sure to take action if it went up. She was absolutely wiped out, so Andy carried her back to her bed. Since she didn't want to be left alone, he lay down beside her until she fell asleep again. Then he tiptoed out. "Now we know what it's really like to be parents," Devin smiled ruefully. "Yeah, but they're worth it." "Well, if you had any second thoughts about what we were doing, you could say that she saved your ass..." Devin snickered. "Funny, but I was looking forward to giving it to you. The interruption did sort of put a damper on the moment." "Come back to bed and we'll do something to make up for it," Devin invited. They got into bed naked again and cuddled for a bit. Then Devin licked his way down to Andy's throbbing phallus. Andy drew in his breath sharply as he felt Devin's tongue flick across the most sensitive spot just under its head. He put his hands gently on Devin's head, massaging his ears, while Devin brought him slowly, but steadily toward a mind-shattering orgasm. "Oh God, oh God that was so awesome!" he gasped as he continued to ooze in the aftershocks. Now make me yours." Devin again prepared Andy for their first union by using his fingers and lots of lube. When Andy nodded his assent, Devin slowly pushed through the anal ring, watching for signs of discomfort on his lover's face. Finding nothing but a smile, he continued. After pausing a minute to allow Andy to adjust to the big intruder, Devin took long, slow strokes. He knew, by Andy's reaction, each time he stimulated the magic spot. When Andy started raising his butt to meet each thrust, he sped up. The excitement was so powerful that he couldn't hold out long. With a cry of ecstasy, he blew his pent-up load. He trembled all over as he collapsed on top of Andy. Andy caressed his back and ass tenderly, loving the intimacy of that moment. "Oh, you've got to try this. It's awesome!" Devin exclaimed when his breathing began to be somewhat normal. "I'll have to take a rain-check because I doubt we'll have time to do it before one of the kids is up." Andy smiled. "Stay over tonight, please. I want you in me too." "Okay." Their mood of euphoria was broken by the sound of someone stirring in another bedroom. They quickly wiped up and threw on clothes again. ---------- Despite looking after a sick little girl, the boys had dinner on the table when Devin's parents arrived home after work. Cathy and Charley rewarded them with plenty of praise for their handling of the day. Andy stayed overnight and received his reward from his lover after they went to bed. By then his batteries were fully recharged and he made love to Devin in the same manner he'd received it in their afternoon tryst. Needless to say, both boys slept soundly that night.
