Appendix 1 - The establishment of the Seabrook Brotherhood
and its secret documentation

 

The Founding Members of the Brotherhood:
Mitchell Seabrook (fka Highmoon) (22), a young officer in the forces of John de la Pole, 1st Earl of Lincoln, who was loyal to King Richard III.
The Seabrook brothers: Aldwin (10), Barden (12) and identical twins Manley and Maven (15).
Hugh Barclay (12), a squire in the forces of Henry Percy, 4th Earl of Northumberland, who was loyal to King Richard III
John Barclay (9), a squire in the forces of Henry Percy, 4th Earl of Northumberland, who was loyal to King Richard III

Many boys have been rescued and the Seabrook Academy for Boys started its first term on 31^st October, 1485.

Scene: The meeting room of the Seabrook Academy for Boys, Sutton Cheney, Leicestershire, England on the 23^rd of December 1485.

 

Once the large group of boys had settled in, firm couplings also became obvious. Mitchell, Manley, Maven, Hugh, Barden, John and Aldwin met, at lunchtime, on the 23^rd of December 1485. By now, Mitchell's bedroom was long since the business meeting room. It was now confined to Mitchell's lovemaking, with Manley and Maven only. All three slept together every night.

 

Mitchell spoke, "Now, you young'uns, you have now established firm unbreakable bonds with each other. There are, though, other boys, and men, who are developing similar definite couplings. I propose that we create, alongside our register of members, a register of couples and that each man, or boy, in a couple receive a numbered Seabrook Brotherhood ring, there only ever being two rings with the same number. On the death of a partner, his ring will be destroyed, just like the pope's ring is, when he dies.

 

The first and only ever triplet will, of course, have the special number of 0 and be: -

 

0. Mitchell, Manley and Maven Seabrook

 

The first three couples, numbers 1, 2 and 3, will, of course, be: -

 

1. Hugh Barclay and Barden Seabrook

2. John Barclay and Aldwin Seabrook

3. Dudley Daw and Lyndon Diccon

 

with today being their official coupling day."

 

The boys all applauded and the meeting broke up in an orgy of hugs and kisses, but that only. The first three couples, and the only ever triplet, were cemented forever.

 

The 23^rd of December is honoured, throughout the Seabrook Brotherhood, as Couples Day, the sixth most important day in a Seabrook Member's year after Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, his own birthday, and the date of the registration of his own coupling.

 

Mitchell, as head of the Brotherhood, always accompanied by Manley and Maven, interviewed any two boys, or a boy and a man, who wished to have their coupling publicly declared and recorded; only when all three of these founding fathers, of the Brotherhood, agreed, that true love was evident, would such a coupling be registered. It must be noted, though, that a queer coupling did not preclude either of both of the partners to later also marry a female wife. This means that many of the Seabrook Brotherhood, to this very day, have both a male husband and a female wife.

 

After the death of the founding fathers, the coupling interviews were conducted by the head of the brotherhood at the time, and the two eldest members who were in a registered coupling.

 

The first and only ever exception to `the rule of coupling for life was the 'tripling' of Mitchell, Manley and Maven. Manley and Maven both took wives and Manley's firstborn was named Mitchell Seabrook II, the first of an unbroken line of Mitchell Seabrooks, right up to this very day; the very youngest Mitchell Seabrook, the 24^th, was born in 2016.

 

The Seabrook Brotherhood Register of Members and Couples is still held, in a chained book, in the office of the eldest Mitchell Seabrook alive: it contains many thousands of names, and coupling records. All of the people listed were sworn, on pain of death, to maintain the secrecy of the brotherhood. In the glorious year of 2017, that secrecy was slightly lifted, when all laws against homosexuality, in England, were repealed and a redacted version of the chronicle was published. As the brotherhood condones sexual acts by consenting persons of 12‑years‑of‑age or over, some of the details of the brotherhood are still secret.

 

Seabrook Brotherhood members are to be found in the British Isles, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America but, so far as is possible, all Seabrook Brotherhood children are born in England, and thus have a British Passport. In the very rare cases where the birth is overseas, the passport is issued under the parental/grandparental rule. Of the current members of the brotherhood, there are less than 20 men and boys who have needed to take advantage of that rule and, over the last 200 years, there have been less than 100 such cases.

 

The oath of the brotherhood as been unchanged, since its first reading on October 6^th 1485: -

 

I swear, on my life, that I will keep secret from all people, other than members of The Seabrook Brotherhood, all activities, ceremonies, traditions, rules and regulations of the brotherhood, and its members, so help me God.

 

As on the first occasion of its use, the oath is always administered by the current head of the brotherhood, the eldest Mitchell Seabrook alive.
