Resume:- Trevor, doing his Ph.D. at Nottingham has met Kundi and engineering undergraduate from Nigeria. 1959 saw Trevor and Kundi working and playing hard. Isaac had taught Trevor that not wasting time meant that there was more time to do things, whether work, or play, or enjoying each other. Trevor's example influenced Kundi, who found that by applying himself he had sufficient time to get his work done, and to enjoy himself. Trevor continued to get exercise by rowing once a week. Saturday, either the whole day or just the afternoon and evening, and the whole of Sundays were especially their time together. Kundi's landlady, Mrs Cordor continued to go each weekend to stay with either her son or daughter. Frequently Trevor and Kundi went out, and returned to Kundi's in the early evening, often with fish and chips, before retiring to bed where they both continued to exult in the other's body. At Easter they went down to Leytonstone for a week. Isaac only joining them for a couple of days. He had been offered the post in Israel and had accepted. This meant that he would be moving to Tel Aviv in the autumn. Though this was a long while ahead there was much planning and arranging to be done. Trevor and Isaac discussed at length what should be done about the house in Leytonstone. It was eventually decided that they would let the house after the Christmas. "I want to spend Christmas with Kundi, and for us to be free to be uninhibited!" insisted Trevor. "Fair enough," responded Isaac with a broad grin. Trevor had to go over to Germany three times in that academic year. He always spent a couple of days with Isaac, and arranged it so that he returned to Nottingham on a Friday. This meant that he and Kundi could celebrate their reunion with the freedom they both enjoyed. *** Every week Trevor wrote to Isaac, and received a letter in return from the equally disciplined Isaac. Once a month he wrote to Paul, and at slightly more irregular intervals he wrote to Fergus. Fergus was now in the final stages of his medical training, and by opting to go to University first he had avoided having to do National Service. Paul wrote in March saying that he had found a parish in which to train. It was in a down-town part of Leeds. "It will show me how a great number of people in this country live. There is much bad housing, poverty, and crime. I think my eyes will at last be opened to some of the realities of life. This means that I will be ordained in Ripon Cathedral on Trinity Sunday, 24th May. Put the date in your diary NOW; and make sure it is in Kundi's too. [A little dose of pure religion might do you two good!]" Trevor and Kundi made an early start from Nottingham on that Trinity Sunday. It was a glorious early summer day. The sun was warm, and the trees were in their full fresh summer green. They were moved as they walked up the hill to the Cathedral, with a full peal of bells ringing out over the market town. The Bishop of Ripon made several men deacons, including Paul, and another group were ordained priests. Trevor awaited with interested to hear how Paul got on in his slum parish in the centre of Leeds. *** One evening soon after term had started in October 1959 when Trevor and Kundi were eating in the University refectory Kundi gave Trevor a nudge. "You see that couple who have just come in. The guy in the brown jacket with the guy wearing the thick pullover." "Yes. Well what about them?" "I think they're like us." "In what way?" "I think they love each other," whispered Kundi. "How do you know that?" "Just watch them together." The two men collected their food and came and sat down where Trevor could see them. "Can you see them?" asked Kundi who was sitting facing Trevor, and so had his back to the couple. "Just keep an eye on them." Trevor glanced at the couple from time to time. "I think you may well be right." "Maybe we're not the only ones here." "Maybe not," replied Trevor. "Perhaps we should try to get to know them. As the couple were in the refectory most evenings, as were Trevor and Kundi, it was not unduly difficult to get to know the other couple. Casual greetings, developed into short conversations, to the beginnings of a friendship with them all sitting at the same table. Greg was reading Law, and Mark Geography. It was Kundi who was the more brazen in finding out about the other couple. "You two in digs together?" asked Kundi. "Yea. We both rent a small flat in the Meadows. [A rather run down area in the centre of Nottingham] It's our finals year, and we were in the same flat last year. We decided not to try and get into Hall. [Hall of Residence] Do you two dig together?" "No, but nearby. It's a long and complicated story but I have quite a lot of meals round at Trevor's digs. I was in Hall for my first year." "I notice that you often go around together. The two of you do rather stand out." "Yea, we're good friends," said Trevor. He and Kundi looked at each other, and gave each other a revealing grin. This was not lost on the other couple, who looked at each other, and one gave a slight nod to the other. "What does that nod mean?" asked Trevor. Kundi gave a slight chuckle. One of the men, whose name was Greg, blushed, and was obviously embarassed. Trevor gave a slight laugh. "Have you two being putting two and two together, and examining the answer?" "I don't know what you mean!" exclaimed the other man, whose name was Mark. Trevor and Kundi looked at each other and laughed. Trevor lent forward across the table. "I have a car. Kundi and I often go off somewhere together on a Saturday afternoon, and usually end up having fish and chips somewhere. Would you two like to join us this Saturday?" They looked at each other briefly. "Yes, please," said Greg with enthusiasm. "That'd be great." "And you can come back to our place for a drink." Mark had no sooner said that, than he clamped a hand over his mouth. He knew he'd said too much. Trevor realised what had happened, and replied at once. "Yes, that'd be great." And then to ease the conversation. "And where would you like to go?" There followed a discussion, and they ended up agreeing to go to Newstead Abbey, the home of the mad and bad Lord Byron. Later that evening, Trevor and Kundi discussed the conversation. "Mark regretted making the invitation, didn't he? I wonder why?" "One double bed?" suggested Kundi with a laugh. "Lucky Greg and Mark, if that is so," said Trevor. The next Saturday afternoon the four of them piled into Trevor's Morris Traveller and went to Newstead. The autumn leaves were at their best. There was some discussion about the activities of Lord Byron, but none of them raised the possibility that he enjoyed man to man sex as well as man to woman sex. They got some fish and chips on their way back through Nottingham, and then went to Greg and Mark's flat. It was a small upstairs flat. Once they were in the flat they were confronted with three doorways and one closed door. The doorways revealed the bathroom, the very small kitchen, and a sitting room. Trevor and Kundi were shown into the sitting room. It was in a typical male student state. Books and papers were everywhere. Trevor wondered what the meticulously tidy Isaac would have thought. The four of them spent a pleasant evening together, drinking beer and talking. It was just after eleven when Trevor and Kundi got up to leave. They made their way out into the small hallway. Kundi took the initiative. He just opened the one closed door, saying, "Is this your bedroom." There revealed for all to see was an equally untidy bedroom with one four foot six double bed. Mark and Greg looked highly embarassed. Kundi burst out laughing. "I told you so!" he said to Trevor. "You lucky fellows, able to sleep together every night!" "You are like us then?" "I reckon so," said Trevor. "We sleep together whenever we can." "We had wondered," said Greg, "But didn't know how we could find out. We could go to prison for what we do." "I know. It is about time somebody in Parliament had the courage to take the bull by the horns and try to get Wolfenden implemented," said Trevor. That evening broke the ice. Both couples were relieved to find another couple like them. They started going out altogether fairly frequently, but they were was no sexual fraternisation between the couples. Isaac went off to Israel. It was expected that he would have to come back to London two or three times a year for business purposes. But the long term future of the house was still undecided. Greg and Mark took their final exams in the summer of 1959. Both had got jobs in London, and were talking of wanting to find accommodation together. It was then that Trevor had the brain wave. He wrote to Isaac to discuss it with him first. Then he put it to Greg and Mark. "Would you like to rent part of Isaac's and my house in Leytonstone. I say a part, as both of us would like to keep a room for oursleves when we have to be in London. You would have two bedrooms, and the rest of the house, as long as we could share it with you when we want to be around. I cannot see either of us wanting to be in the house for long spells." So it was arranged. *** Trevor and Kundi spent Christmas 1959 at Leytonstone, sharing the house with Greg and Mark. It worked out well. The first six months of 1960 were hard work for both Trevor and Kundi. Trevor was in the final stages of work for his doctorate thesis, and Kundi was preparing for his finals in May. Trevor had set himself the target of starting to write the thesis at Easter, but he knew that this target might prove impossible to keep. He continued to pay occasional visits to West Germany. He also had regular sessions with the flamboyant and energetic Double O'Brien. She was full of encouragement as the outline of Trevor's thesis began to evolve. "I think you may be saying something more widely relevant here. Europe is growing together economically. There is increasing working together. The horizons are widening. What happened in Germany after reunification in the Nineteenth Century may well be relevant to what is happening in the second half of the Twentieth. Some Ph. D. theses get published just as they are, and are read by a few. If yours turns out to be as good as it's looking at the moment then maybe you should think of rewriting it for a wider readership." "Does that really need to be done?" asked Trevor, appalled at the prospect of a drastic rewrite. "There is a world of difference between a published thesis, and a book based on a thesis. A few read a published thesis; there is too much jargon and an eye on the examiner. But a book is written with a different wider readership in view, it could make your name, Trevor. Could make your name!" The seed was sown, and Trevor continued to apply himself diligently. Kundi did not find his Civil Engineering Course easy. Trevor was a great help, not because he knew anything about Civil Engineering, or even of the maths that was involved, but because of the way he applied himself to his work. `Work hard, play hard,' was Trevor's motto. Even if playing hard meant strenuous exercise one afternoon a week, and preferably close to and on the bed with Kundi at least twice or three times over the weekend. In March Trevor received a letter from Paul. My Dear Trev, As you can see I am in hospital! I was rushed in with an emergency appendicitis and was operated on that evening. But I've met this most wonderful nurse! You will laugh. The day after the op she gave me a bed bath. I was still feeling damn grotty. But the second day I was feeling much better. When she started washing me, my John Thomas decided to get a hard on. I was so embarassed. She just laughed and said, "I hope the rest of you is as glad to see me." She's wonderful. Great fun. A vicar's daughter. I've asked her out for a meal when I am fit. Trev, I think I'm falling in love. Love Paul. Trevor read the letter, and roared with laughter. He promptly wrote back wanting further details, so he made out a form for Paul to fill in. It came back. Name:- Elizabeth Radmore - usually called Liz or Lizzy. Height:- Two inches shorter than me. Hair colour:- Ravishing blond Eye colour:- The most wonderful blue. Home town:- Her old man's vicar of St Pendreuth in Cornwall. Three weeks later there was another letter. "I am in love, and I've asked Lizzy to marry me. She has said, `yes' but it's not to be made public until I've met her folks. Stand by to be best man." Trevor wrote, "I'm coming up one Sunday to inspect this woman of your dreams. I hope she does not disapprove of me." Trevor met Lizzy Radmore. She was certainly good looking, and also great fun. "Paul has told me all about you." "Oh has he?" she replied. "I gather it all started when you were giving him a bed-bath in hospital, you saw what was on offer, and that was that." Lizzy roared with laughter. "It was the biggest and best on offer in the hospital." They both laughed. "You'll do, Lizzy. You'll be good for our Paul. I fully approve, he couldn't have chosen better." *** One warm Spring Saturday afternoon Trevor and Kundi had gone out walking in the countryside. They were delighted to find pimroses, violets, and wood anenomies blooming in the woods and hedge rows. "When do you have to go back to Nigeria?" asked Trevor, as they were walking through a wood. "Soon after finals. Why?" "Put off that evil day for as long as you can. What happens when you get back?" "Presuming I get my degree, I will be offered a job. There are great openings for Civil Engineers, buildings to be built, roads to me made, bridges and dams to be constructed. It will be an exciting time for us. Independence from you Brits at long last." [1960] He gave Trevor a nudge. "About time you grew up and looked after yourselves, you tree swinging load of cannibals!" said Trevor nudging Kundi back. "It will be back to my family," said Kundi seriously. "I shall be expected to support them. Perhaps pay for another member of the family to come over here to go to University." "Not another savage! Or will he be like you, and help me warm my bed?" "I doubt that. And I shall be expected to get married. They may well be finding a wife for me now." "What do you think about that?" Kundi was silent for a moment before answering. "Very, very few men in my tribe do not marry. Those who do not marry are regarded as abnormal, more or less freaks. There will be great pressure on me to marry, and have children." He paused. "I expect I shall marry. I only hope that I will be able to do the necessary." "Sexually?" "Yes, sexually. I think for me the natural thing, what I really want, would be always to have sex with a man and not a woman. But it is terribly taboo for us. I think there are men who like men, but if they are found out they are shunned, mocked. It would be difficult to keep a good job, my family would throw me out." "I hope I haven't made things more difficult for you." "Whatever happens I will remember with great happiness my friendship with you, Trev, every part of it. I will never as long as I live regret all that we've done together." They stopped walking and looked at each other. Kundi stretched out his arms to Trevor. "Trev, I want you. I want you now, here in this wood." Trevor looked around. "We'll have to do it standing up, the ground is far too wet to do it lying down." He led the way into some thicker undergrowth. They faced each other again, and put their arms round each other and kissed. "You don't know just how much I love you, Trev." "I dread your going back to Africa. You are one big part of my life, and thinking that I shall never see you again, or never feel you again, just breaks my heart. How do you want me?" "I want you to stick your cock up me first, and then I want to stick mine up you," giggled Kundi. "What happens if I make you come?" "Then I shall have to come a second time, won't I?" Kundi undid his trousers, and lowered them to his ankles. He turned and lent against a tree. Trevor lowered his trousers and spat on his hands and lubricated his cock. "This may hurt, my love, it's only spit, not the usual." "Don't worry. I want you inside me whether it hurts at first or not." Trevor moved up and placed the head of his cock against Kundi's puckered hole, and pushed. Slowly he made his entrance. "I shall dream of that, your cock forcing its way into me for the rest of my life." "And I shall dream of your lovely brown buttocks wide apart taking my hard pink manhood into you." Once his cock was fully embedded in Kundi, Trevor stopped. "I would like to do this to you every day for a thousand years." "I think you are just one old romantic, Trev." Trevor began to pull his cock almost the whole way out of Kundi before pushing fully back in again. He did it very slowly. There was no hard thrusting to begin with. Kundi begn to groan in appreciation. "Why've we never done it like this before?" "Because either the ground has been dry, or we've had a bed. You like it because it's different." Trevor ran his hands up and down Kundi's back, and then grasped his hips. Gradually he increased the rate of his thrusting. He felt his scrotum tighten. He knew his climax was approaching. Kundi sensed it as well. "Please, Trev. Please, Trev. I want your spunk deep inside me." Trevor pushed deep into Kundi and stopped. There were three long seconds before his cock went into spasm, and he felt his life juice leave his cock-head in great spurts. His right hand reached round Kundi and felt the wet warmth of his life juice on his hand. He collected as much of it as he could in his hand, and then brought his hand to his nose and sniffed. "I love your African smell." He licked his hand clean, "I shall miss the taste of you." Kundi felt Trevor's cock shrink and soften. It just slipped out. Kundi turned and straightened up. He put his arms round Trevor. "Thanks, Trev. I needed that" They stood together, knee to kneee, groin to groin, lips to lips, arms round each other for several minutes. Then Trevor felt a small stirring against his cock. "You're hardening already. I just don't know how you do it." "Because I am with the man I love," answered Kundi. He turned Trevor round so his was facing the tree trunk. Trevor leaned against the tree and presented his arse to Kundi, who promptly bent over and kissed it several times. Kundi now lubricated his cock with his own spit, and placed his cockhead on the target. "I love the feel of your cock there, just before it makes its entrance." So Kundi held his cock and rubbed the cock head over the puckered hole several times. It was now Trevor's turn to groan with appreciation. Then Kundi pushed and slowly his thick cock took possession of Trevor as it had so many times before. It was not long before Kundi climaxed. It was not his usual copious deposit, but it was a lot by most male standards. "Thanks Trev," said Kundi, as they pulled their trousers up. "I will remember today." "Yea. One of the special times, like the first time in the field, and our our first full night together a couple of Christmases ago." They kissed, and made their way out of the tangle of undergrowth and resumed their walk. *** Easter came and went. Kundi was busy with revision, and ten days after Easter Trevor began writing up his thesis. All to quickly Kundi's exams came and went, and he awaited the results. Trevor found his study in Beeston a good place for a mornings work when it came to writing his thesis. It was a warm bright room. He was working there on the morning when Kundi was to hear the result of his finals. His attention was totally into his work. He heard a noise below, and some excited voices, but thought nothing of it. Then he heard someone coming up the stairs two at a time. The door of his room burst open. "I've got a Two One, Trev! A Two One." Trevor stood and turned to Kundi. They hugged and kissed. "Congratulations." "Mine was the best West African result. I beat the lads from Ghana!" said Kundi triumpantly. "And a lot of it is due to you. Your help, your example, your keeping me at it. Thanks Trev." They went downstairs where Sue Bamford was standing with a delighted look on her face. She put her arms round Kundi and kissed him. "Well done." They talked for a few minutes. "Special celebratory meal for tonight?" Trevor and Kundi looked at each other and nodded. "I must ring Ron and Betty to tell them the good news. I'll ask Mrs Corder round as well. And I must get to the butchers quickly." The celebratory meal that evening was of roast pork with masses of crackling on it, with apple sauce, roast potatoes, and fresh garden peas. Sue made one of her special sherry triffles for their pudding. A bottle of champagne was drunk. Mrs Corder was brought round for the meal in her wheel chair. The celebration went on until late in the evening. *** Events followed thick and fast. Paul was ordained priest on Trinity Sunday 12th June in Ripon Cathedral, and Trevor and Kundi attended. On Wednesday 23rd June 1960 Kundi graduated. The ceremony was held in the Albert Hall in the centre of Nottingham. Kundi chose Trevor and Sue Bamford to be his two guests at the ceremony. There was a great deal of leg pulling about Kundi being Kundi Akinola B.Sc [Eng]. On Saturday 9th July Paul and Lizzie were married. There had been a great deal of discussion as to where this ceremony should take place. Cornwall, the home of Lizzy's parents. was too remote. Paul would have liked it to be in the church where he was curate, in the slums of Leeds, but the persuasion of both sets of parents prevailed and it took place at Winchfield. A marquee was erected on the lawn at the front of the Manor, and the English weather behaved itself for a change! Trevor was the best man, and looked very smart in his morning dress hired from Moss Bros. He made a very accomplished and witty speech, and received many congratulations afterwards. Kundi, who wore his Nigerian robes, almost stole the show. He also enjoyed the spectacle and rituals of an English upper class wedding. He wondered what his own would be like, if and when, back in Nigeria. Trevor finished the writing of his thesis at the end of July. With relief he hand over the script to be typed and bound. This left Trevor and Kundi ten days before Kundi's return to his home. Kundi said goodbye to Mrs Corder, and to the Bamfords. They all gave him presents. Trevor and Kundi drove down to Leytonstone for the final seven days before Kundi sailed from Tilbury. He had elected to go home by boat, rather than to fly as was increasingly becoming the prevailing means of inter-continental travel. In many ways those seven days were like the last days before Trevor went into the Army, or his embarkation leave before going out to Korea. But they were worse, because both men knew that they were unlikely ever to see each other again. Both men became more aware than ever before just how much they meant to each other. Mark and Greg who were living in the Leytonstone house, tried to give them as much space as possible. They worked it that they would go and stay with friends over the last three days. On their last full day together they had gone walking in Epping Forest. They walked up to High Beech, and over to Amesbury Banks, which were reputed to have been used by Queen Boudicca in her rebellion against the Romans. The day was hot and still, and the leaves on the hornbeams seemed to watch them in silence. Often they walked in silence; the pain of parting was bearing down on both of them. They got home, and Trevor popped out to get some fish and chips. They were Kundi's request for this last time. In the early evening Kundi said, "I'm going to have a bath, and then bed." "I'll follow you," said Trevor. Half an hour later Kundi lay on his front sprawled across the bed. Trevor stark naked, freshly dry from his bath, made his way softly and silently upstairs. He stood in the doorway of the bedroom and looked down on the dark brown Nigerian as he lay on the white sheets of the bed. Kundi sensed Trevor's presence, and opened his eyes and looked up to see Trevor looking down on him. He smiled. "What you looking at?" "You. You're beautiful, Kundi. . . Your back, - the muscles in your arms, - that perfect bum. I thought, I have touched every part of that body. I know it as well as my own. I know what you like, what turns you on, and what you don't like." "I can't think of anything you've done to me I've not liked," murmured Kundi. "I think I have kissed every part of you." Kundi rolled over onto his back. "Especially around here," he waved a hand over his cock and the surrounding area, and giggled. "It's hard! I think Juliet got it wrong when she said, `parting is such sweet sorrow'. Tears came to his eyes and began to trickle down his cheeks. Trevor kissed them, and tasted them. "I have never tasted your tears before. I wish I could place them in a bottle and keep them." Then, as if a switch had been thrown, both cocks stirred. "One friend greets another," said Kundi. Trevor got onto the bed, and put his legs and arms round Kundi and kissed him passionately. "I love you, Kundi. Why must you leave?" "You know why. I know why." "That's reminded me," said Trevor. "I've got something for you. In some ways it is a strange gift, but perhaps appropriate." He got off the bed, and went across and opened a drawer and took out a small book. It was small, and old. It had a hard back and was covered with velvet. He handed it to Kundi. Kundi opened it. "Poetry?" "Yes, I found it in a second hand book shop some weeks ago. It is a copy of Alfred Tennyson's In Memoriam. Tennyson wrote it in memory of a friend Arthur Hallam, who died. They were close friends." "Did they?" asked Kundi. Trevor grinned, "I don't think so. Almost certainly not. Arthur Hallam was also a close friend of William Gladstone who became the greatest Prime Minister of the last century. And they also did not." added Trevor with a laugh. Kundi opened the front of the book. He read some words that Trevor had written, `It's better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.' He had then just added the letter T. "Thanks Trev. I'll always treasure it." He put the book down and held out his arms to Trevor. There were moments during that long summer night when their love making was soft and tender, and there were other times when it was rough and violent, as they tried to get even closer together. There were times when they just lay arms round each other, both awake, neither wishing to lose a moment of consciousness in sleep. They heard the striking clock downstairs tell out in inexorable passage of time. "Trev, I'd like you to do something. I hope you won't be upset at what I'm going to ask." "Anything for you, my love." "I want you to place some of you sweet cock nectar, some of your delicious love juice on the cover of that book." "It'll spoil its look." "I know. But I shall know that the marks are yours. That they come from your love." And so it was done. It was when the light of dawn began to penetrate into the room that Trevor made his request. "I would like something from you." "What?" "Hold on a moment." Trevor got off the bed and went across to a chest of drawers and took out a pair of nail sissors "I want some of your hair. Some from your head, and some from round your cock.." Kundi giggled. "On one condition. I can have the same from you." So they both cut a couple of small tufts of hair from each other. Trevor went downstairs and got four envelopes, and the hair was put in them, marked KHH, KPH, THH, TPH. "I shall have to think of somewhere where I can keep that safe," said Trevor. "Same here," said Kundi They had discussed how they were to spend this final time together. They had set two alarms, one went off at 7.00. This was intended to wake them, but they were awake. For the last time Kundi sucked Trevor to a climax. Then for the last time, Kundi's thick cock pentrated Trevor, but after that night of love making, even Kundi could only produce a little love juice. At 7.30 the second alarm went. They kissed, and got out of bed. Their final kiss, so reminiscent of Trevor's embarkation before he went off to Korea, took place in the hall. Trevor drove Kundi to Tilbury. He was allowed to accompany Kundi on board. He saw the cabin he would share with three others, on the voyage to Lagos. Then came the order over the loudspeakers for those not travelling to disembark. They shook hands, their eyes moist, and Trevor made his way down the gangway. Jeff at jeffyrks@hotmail.com
