"You're going to need a bath yourself after you finish," said Jude as he watched the hairy, half-naked Italian wash his charge. "Why do you think I've taken nearly everything off?" he replied as the little guy shook himself and soaked everything within four feet. "I'm surprised you're not completely naked," continued the young Marine, wearing the stupid grin of a young man in love. "It's still a little chilly to be walking the dog naked-come back next month and you'll see a big difference," he replied and then turned to look at Jude who was still wearing the same smitten look and, at 0630, still the clothes he wore the night before. "So, it looks like you got hit by the thunderbolt last night," Al said with a smile before adding, "did you run out of clothes or are you just getting home?" Jude went red and lost the grin, which immediately was replaced by a dazzling smile. His eyes became wide with excitement as he joined Al in the towel drying of the little geese-chaser, all the while giving him a rundown of his night. "We went to the bar, met Grace's friend and hung out for about an hour," he started, "but it was too loud and we couldn't talk so we decided to head out and go for a ride. We ended up at a neighborhood bar in a place called Delaware City-it had this great deck and a view of the river. When it closed we went across the street and sat on a bench on the waterfront and just talked and talked until dawn," he said and then yawned; it was if relating the last bit triggered his exhaustion. But he still had a silly smile and Al recognized it as the smile of young love. Grace was like a daughter to him, and even though he had known the boy for only a week he couldn't be happier that the two had connected-his mother always told him he had a buon naso -a good nose- when it came to people. "You know, I've known Grace since she was born; in fact I'm her godfather," Al said. A look of panic appeared on Jude's face, "We just sat and talked-I swear," he replied defensively. Al gave him a warm smile, "No, buddy, you got it wrong. I already got you pegged, it's all good and I'm glad you guys enjoyed yourself," he said as he watched Jude relax hearing his words, "I just want to add a little wisdom from my mother-"don't refuse love that is offered." Jude looked a little confused until Al place a hand on his shoulder and squeezed, "I'm glad Jim found you and I hope you'll be happy," then he wrapped the wet puppy in and towel, walked away leaving the happy young man to figure it out for himself. __________ "No egg!" shouted a determined Kelly as he pushed his plate to the center of the table to the amusement of his brothers as Matt pushed it back in front of him. The test of wills had been going on for about ten minutes and daddy number two was losing patience. In an effort to calm himself he turned to Clinton, "Are you all packed, bro?" He asked. "Yeah, what time are we pulling out?" Clinton asked as he attacked a plate of Al's special frittata and home fries. "I was thinking 1000; hopefully Romeo will be up before then," Matt replied between mouthfuls. It was a typical Sunday breakfast-Al cooked for an army and the boys ate like new recruits. Clinton was now well enough to return to work, but Matt had insisted that he stay with Tom for a few weeks until he was strong enough to put in a full day. The other consideration was that Tom's house was a rancher and Clinton's condo was a second floor walk-up. They would be taking Matt's BMW to Tom's before Matt flew on. While getting ready for bed, the three lovers decided they would give Matt's little-used BMW to Jude-but not tell him it was a gift until his next trip up to the farm. Today he would just think he was doing Matt a favor by driving to Virginia Beach first before Jude would take the car and make the three hour trip up to Quantico. A handful of scrambled eggs hit Matt in the side of his face causing him to spin in his seat just in time to see Jim scoop Kelly up, booster seat and all, as everyone laughed. "Whoa sport, let's go to the kitchen and see if Uncle Buck can get you to eat," Jim said shooting a 'count to ten' look at his lover. Before Matt could respond, Jude appeared looking tired, but still grinning making everyone laugh, "Hey lover boy, I'm surprised you're up already." "Didn't want to miss the last of my visit sleeping-I'm fine; I can sleep in the car," he replied while grabbing a plate and heading for the buffet and the steaming chaffing dishes. "Maybe not," Matt said causing Jude to turn with a questioning look at Matt who had mischievous smile on his face. "Okay?Does Uncle Jim sing while he drives?" Matt laughed, "Yes, but well, no. I was wondering if you would like to drive down to Virginia Beach with Clint and me instead-then keep the car until you get your next forty-eight and drive it back to the farm-that is if you want to visit again," Matt teased. The grin on Jude's face went from goofy to?well suffice to say the boy had it bad? then it changed as if a cloud had passed overhead. He turned back to the buffet and began filling his plate; he took a seat the table and began to eat in silence. "What's up Jude, would you rather just have Jim drive you?" "No sir," he answered quickly, "it's just that I was planning on spending a couple of hours with Grace before I left," he said. This explained to them his sudden change in countenance and all suspicions were thus confirmed-the boy was in love. "Not a problem Dog Face, go call her-if she wants to ride down with us, I'll get her a ticket home on Amtrack. Ask Al for her number, I'm sure he has it," Matt teased. The goofy love sick grin returned as he jumped to his feet, "No problem, sir, I have her cell number memorized," he said and hesitated. "Go use the phone in the office," Matt said. After Jude made a quick exit Matt pulled out his cellphone and punched in a number, "Hey bro, I hope I didn't wake you," he said to Tom. "Nope, just got home-had a date last night-she has a hot tub," Tom replied as Matt could just picture his older brother wiggling his eyebrows when he said that. "Glad you had a good time but I need you to do me a favor," He went on to explain the change in plans and asked Tom to hit the Apple Store when it opened. "Get him the best phone, and make sure you choose an unlimited plan-I have a feeling he'll need it," Matt said and laughed, "put it on the company card for today and we'll sort it out tomorrow." "No problem, Matty, we can put him on the payroll as?well as something, Grant can figure it out," Tom said and then went on to give highlights of his date. __________ "Eighteen," said Clinton to no one in particular as they crossed the bay bridge tunnel. The comment caused Matt to avert his gaze into the rear-view mirror that showed Grace and Jude huddled together looking out at the ships anchored in the bay waiting to move up to Baltimore, "Eighteen what?" he asked Clinton. "Dead seagulls, I think they are constantly flying into tracker-trailers, then splat," Clinton answered. "Sucks to be them," Matt said with a chuckle. Twenty minutes later they were at Tom's condo where he and Grant welcomed them. Jude tried to refuse the gift of the phone but Matt, of course, won out. He thanked Matt and promised to call the three of them at least once a week. He asked to be excused from lunch as he wanted give Grace a quick tour of the base. "More like to show off to a few of his buddies, the hot chick he scored," Clinton remarked as they waved to the departing couple and laughed at the joke. Monday, May 10, 2010 Matt watched San Diego grow closer as the pilot began his decent. He had slept for most of the flight. After not getting to bed until 100 and getting up at 530 to make the 730 meetings at Stratton, he was beat. Everything looked to be in order and Tom and Grant were excited to have Clinton in the office again. Most of the discussion centered on how to move some of the money that Junior had embezzled into a legitimate account for Jude. Tom thought this shouldn't be a problem; he just needed a few weeks to figure it out. Stepping through the door, Matt smiled. The weather was perfect and he was anxious to see the little Trips. His smile faded when he was close enough to see Denise. She was standing next to her car and looked tired and frazzled. "Hey buddy," he said, giving her a big hug and from the way she hung onto Matt he knew something was wrong. "Is everything okay?" "Yeah," she said unconvincingly, "I've just been really busy at work and the Trips have been keeping me up," she said feebly. And Matt wasn't buying it. He still spoke with Oliver at least twice a week and knew almost everything that was going on-and it was nothing to do with work, directly. On the ride to the house Matt kept the conversation limited to the boys, Jim and Barry, and the discovery of Jude. He had decided that he wouldn't get involved with what was going on with Tina, but just be supportive and not comment. He also planned to get Oliver alone and have a nice face to face chat; it was easier to discern the truth when looking someone in the eye. As Denise pulled into the driveway Matt noticed that she grew tense, but again he didn't comment. "Denise, I'm going to be here a few days, why don't you and Tina take a little overnight trip?" He offered. "I would love that, but I'm not sure how things are going to go tonight-unfortunately I have to tell her that I'm being sent on another cruise. It's just three months, but the bad part is I leave in three days," she said as they were getting Matt's bags out of the trunk. He turned and looked at his ex-wife-the mother of his son and still a dear friend. "Okay, let's get through the night-but don't worry about anything, I'll talk to Oliver and extend his contract," he said picking up the bags and heading for the door with Denise by his side, "and then we'll have him find someone to help part time," he added and, when he saw her reaction, further added, "and I'll pay for it so she can't give you a ration of shit," he finished with a smile. "Thanks, Matty," she said warmly as they went towards the house. "Once more into the breach," she said grimly as they walked up to the door-the five words speaking volumes. Oliver must have been watching from inside and had the door opened before they even reached the front steps. He came out to greet them, shaking Matt's hand first and then taking his three-suiter from Denise. Matt couldn't believe how much the babies had grown as he saw the three little ones were lined up in their swings smiling as they were rocked back and forth being soothed by the mechanical clicking. The boys were indeed like mirrors and adorable-but Frankie, well, she was enchanting. He was just about to pick her up from her swing when Tina entered the room. "Well look who's here, Daddy Gay Bucks," she sneered, her snide remark catching Matt by surprise; he had always gotten along well with her. When he turned to face he noticed the drink in her hand and understood so he let the comment pass. "Nice to see you too, Tina," he said evenly as he picked up his daughter and kissed her. He was keeping an eye on Denise who looked like she was ready to explode; so he deftly moved the conversation to the kids. It wasn't long before Denise dragged her well-lubricated lover off to their bedroom for a private chat, he assumed about the upcoming cruise. "She's been hitting the grog quite a bit lately, bro," Oliver said quietly, "I didn't tell you 'cause I didn't want to alarm you," he added before Matt could ask why he kept it a secret. "Is she drinking during the day?" he asked the hunky nanny. "Nah, mate, she at least waits until tea time," he said with a smile, "but their bluing has been getting worse-especially since you said you were visiting. "Fuck you Denise!" they heard Tina shout, "If you think I'm going to be stuck here taking care of these babies by myself you're crazy!" she was shouting-her voice was getting louder indicating she was heading towards them. "It's not like you're alone-Matt was going to ask Oliver to stay on." When Oliver heard that he gave the Captain a huge smile, which Matt took as a yes. "And Matt was going to hire a part-time nanny to help him so it wouldn't all fall to you," his ex-wife continued, trying to calm her partner down. By this point they had reached the living room and a red-faced Tina continued, "Oh, so Matt has everything figured out." She stood aggressively in front of Matt, "except for one thing, he didn't bother to consult me. Who in the fuck do you think you are?" she shouted at Matt causing Rocco to start crying, "It's bad enough you have your fag nanny here to spy on me?" When Matt made to speak she stopped him saying, "I know he calls you almost every day and reports the goings on around here-I've heard him," she announced. "And now you've come to town and decide you're going to tell me how to run my home?" Her anger was rising, Denise was in tears, and now all three babies were crying. Knowing it was pointless to engage someone this agitated he remained silent. "Well fuck you, Captain," she spat before turning and heading to the bedroom with Denise hot on her heals leaving the two men to quiet the babies. They could hear the raised voices but the closed doors prevented them from hearing what was said. Not more than ten minutes had passed before they heard Denise call out, "Tina," and they looked up to see her heading to the front door with a suitcase. When Denise entered the living room she looked completely drained. She looked blankly at Matt and appeared to be in shock. "She's left me," was all she said before collapsing into a chair. Wednesday, May 12, 2010 "I don't know Jimmy, we've heard nothing from her since Monday night. She hasn't used here credit cards-Denise has checked online." Matt was feeding Benny and Rocco their lunch while he had Jim and Barry on speaker phone. "She did take two grand out of the checking account yesterday morning through from a branch somewhere in LA." "How about their friends?" Barry asked. "Nobody's heard from her and her cell goes directly to voicemail," Matt replied putting down the empty bottle and picked Rocco up and placing him on his shoulder to burp him-three taps on his back and the little one belched loudly. "Damn, he sounds just like his father," Jim said. "His burps are heard coast-to-coast." "Can it Gunner-I don't know what I'm going to do-Denise is a wreck and is supposed to leave tomorrow on her cruise. Would you guys mind if I stayed another week-maybe we'll be able to find Tina and talk some sense into her." "No problem, Captain. Stay as long as you need too-by the way, where is the sexy Kiwi?" Jim asked; Matt could picture the smirk on his lovers face. "He's in the nursery changing Frankie." "So have you slipped him your egg roll yet," Jim teased. Matt actually laughed at his corny joke. "No, with all that's going on I haven't even thought about sex. Besides, I'm not sure it's a good thing to be banging the nanny." "You're no fun," Jim whined, "after Denise leaves we should set a play night on Skype-me and Bazza can watch." Matt's phone signaled an incoming call-looking at the screen he saw it was Denise calling. "Jimmy, I have to go-it's Denise." "Hey Denise, what's up?" Matt asked cautiously. "They found her-I got a call from the UC Medical center. They said my "cousin" was in the psych ward and asking for me." Matt could tell she was having trouble holding it together. She took a deep breath and continued, "They found her in a hotel room-she?she had taken some pills and was drinking. They pumped her stomach and she's going to be okay. I'm on my way over now. Do you think you could meet me there?" "Sure buddy, I'll be there as soon as I can." __________ Matt's first call was to the lawyer that drew up the agreement with Tina and Denise when they started the in vitro process. And then he called Dave and asked him if he could fly down-he figured he could be very helpful. The chairs in the waiting room were not very comfortable-and the TV blaring Jerry Springer was even more maddening. Matt had just spoken with Oliver and one of Tina's friends was there giving him a hand with the babies and everything was quiet. Denise was in the room and she had been in there for over an hour when she finally appeared before Matt who was typing a text into his phone. "Hey Matt," she said before taking a seat. It was apparent that she had been crying-the funny thing was, she looked calmer then she had since he arrived. She went on to explain that overdose was no accident-she finally admitted that her depression was getting the best of her and that she couldn't handle life as a mother and a partner. Matt was amazed at how calmly Denise was relaying the information and then his amazement turned to concern. "You seem awfully calm about this," he said when she paused to collect her thoughts. "I'm not calm, I'm relieved-I knew in my heart that this relationship wasn't going to work, but by that time she was six months pregnant and I didn't want to be just another in a long line of people who have deserted her in her life," she replied. "I had to wait for her to discover it on her own." Matt thought about her admission and he was just a bit peeved that she hadn't thought about this before going through with the baby-well, babies. Before he could finish his thought Denise added, "And before you ask why I went along with her having a baby, I thought, apparently wrongly, that having a baby just might help her feel grounded and part of a family for the first time in her life." "What about her family?" Matt asked, not remembering the story. "She was an only child and her parents divorced when she was young-they also both died young so she is really all alone." "So what do we do about the babies?" Matt asked, having already made up his mind he wasn't going to leave them alone with her even if she wanted it. "She wants to ask you to take them," Denise said while pleading with her eyes, "she needs to stay in here for a few weeks, and then needs intensive outpatient counseling after she is released." Matt tried to hide his excitement, but he couldn't as he asked, "But what about you two?" "We've already spoken to Susan-we called from the room-she's agreed to move in with her while I'm gone so she won't have to be alone," Denise explained and then smiled. "She also said she would turn straight if Oliver would have her," getting a laugh from Matt. "Do you think your husbands would mind three new babies in the house?" Matt laughed again, "Between the kids and the four dogs I don't think they will even notice." And then he got serious. "There is just one condition. I've been thinking about this while waiting and I figured it might come to this. I will take them provisionally-after the lawyer completes the paperwork, but only until their first birthday. If you guys split up and she feels she can't handle being a mother it becomes permanent-I don't want them being ripped from the family after that age when they are old enough to form attachments with their brothers." "I don't have a problem with it; but you know that if she changes her mind in the future, a lawyer will shred the agreement claiming it was signed under duress," Denise said stating what Matt already knew. "Then we will deal with it if and when it happens. In fact, I'll be willing to stay here and wait until she is released-that will give her more time to think about it and for the medication to kick in; it will also mitigate a bit of the 'under duress defense' if it ever came to that." Saturday, May 15, 2010 "I can't wait for you to get home, Captain. Al has turned into one tough son-of-a-bitch DI-I'm surprised he's not wearing a lemon squeezer and I'm wondering when he's going to start using incentive torture on us-he even has Dad and Finn hauling ass," Jim said while wearing a big smile. They were talking on Skype; it was 2300 for Jim and 2000 for Matt. Things had moved quickly since Wednesday. Tina was surprisingly grateful for Matt taking the babies and she agreed with his terms. Denise left for her cruise leaving Oliver and Matt to care for the three little one's until Tina was released. There was great excitement at the farm and Jim and Barry were very supportive and even the boys were looking forward to the Trips arrival. Al was in charge, rearranging room assignments, setting up the nursery, and sending the guys on shopping runs for all the supplies. "Don't worry, he'll calm down as soon as the painters are finished," Matt said. "So where are the boys?" "Travis took them up to Philly for a baseball game and they are spending the night at the house. They'll be back tomorrow-and there're bringing Tim." Tim had been living at with the guys in Philly and working. He was going to start at Penn in September and was coming back to the farm for the summer, moving in with Frank and Finn who were now living next door in the old farm house. Travis and Billy were also moving next door for the summer, which worked out great and freed up two bedrooms at the house for Oliver and the Trips. "So where is Bazza? I thought he was going to talk dirty to me so I can beat off," Matt asked, already stroking his erection. He was lying naked on the bed and ready for some action. He had decided not to play around with Oliver-temping as the hunk was-he was worried it may complicate matters in the future so he was content with some 21st century internet sex. "He's here, wait a second," Jim said with a huge smile, and then he heard him say "hit it" and the picture on his screen changed to a full shot of their bed at the farm. Jim was lying naked on the bed, his back to the headboard, his legs spread wide with Barry between kneeling between his legs-face planted firmly in Jim's crotch. "Holy fuck! What is going on?" Matt said as his cock throbbed in his hand. It was like a live porn movie starring his two lovers. "Bazza rigged this up- he's not just hot, he's a hot geek," Jim said grabbing his lover by the ears and moving him up to this leaking cock. The show lasted more than thirty minutes. It concluded with Jim working his thick tongue up his lovers ass and then fucking him with long deep thrusts until he pulled out and shot all over Bazza's back for show causing Matt to shoot one the biggest loads of his life. "So whatcha think, mate?" Barry asked Matt before settling next to Jim and then giving him a sloppy kiss. "That was fucking hot, buddy. How come you never do that shit to me?" He said teasing Barry. "That's bullshit, I do this shit all the time-you're just too old remember," Barry countered. "Okay stud, when I get home we'll tape it so I have proof," was Matt's answer. Then the three lovers moved on to more mundane business-the business of raising kids. "Seriously guys, do you realize that we are about to become fathers of seven kids, eight if we count Derrick?" Matt said as he wiped up the semen that was beginning to run down his body. "Yeah, and five of them are yours," Barry pointed out getting a laugh from his two partners. "No biggy, Captain," Jim added, "think about it, by the time the Trips are in kindergarten, the boys will be in high school-built in babysitters, then in no time they will be in college. It will all be over before you know it." "Say's you," Matt threw in, "let's just hope one of the boys doesn't knock anybody up." To be continued?
