Bacchus Springs Chapter 21 The Introduction by Tripp Savidge * Scene 1 * Caleb Ward "Ah..." Fuck, fuck, fuck. I buried my head in David's shoulder and tried to stop the groaning and moaning that seemed to come out no matter what I did. Besides that, it kept the water from the shower from going up my nose again. "Oh, he likes that, Dean. Get in there deep," David said. I could feel the rumble from his voice vibrate through his body, and I held on tighter. So much muscle to explore. I was sandwiched between Dean and David, my legs wrapped around David with Dean's huge cock buried deep in my ass. My dick was rubbing against David's with each thrust. Every time Dean pushed inside, he hit that spot-over and over again. "Fuck, yeah," Dean called out and stilled, grinding that fat dick inside me. I realized that I'd become somewhat fixated on big cocks and wasn't sure I'd ever be satisfied with less. Or maybe I'd just have to make up for size by taking more of them. I was pretty sure Dean just unloaded in my ass again, but I had so much jizz in my hole I'd probably slosh when I walked. I was vaguely aware of David turning me in his arms and handing me to Dean. I wrapped myself around him as David moved in behind me and shoved his horse dick inside me. Fuck, was he ever huge. Not that I was complaining. I wasn't sure how I was even still going. Maybe it didn't matter. I couldn't seem to get enough to satisfy the burning hunger in my gut-not for food-for sex. I needed to be filled as much as I needed to breathe, and it felt incredible. David and Dean both hit spots inside me I didn't even know were there. But David made me feel so incredibly full, and when he was all the way in, I wasn't sure I could move. All it took was him pushing inside me. "UGH!" I cried out as my body shook and my cock tried to shoot a load from my painfully empty balls. "Such an amazing young man, Caleb," David whispered in my ear. It was almost too much, his cock did things to my insides, and after so many times, everything seemed sensitive and over-stimulated. Dean adjusted me in his arms, lifting a little higher, and then I felt his teeth on my nipple. "Ahhhhh. Ahhhh," I moaned over and over. Didn't they know I was spent? I felt another wave of pleasure and pain as my body tried to cum again. But David's dick was relentlessly pounding inside me. I swear he was getting bigger, and then he stilled so fucking deep inside me and kissed Dean over my shoulder. "Damn, his lust is so friggin' sweet. It's addictive," David said. I was focused on breathing and holding on, which I wasn't sure I could do much longer. My limbs felt like jelly. "Do you mind? I need to get to work," Dean said. "Not at all. I'll clean up Caleb and put him back to bed. I need another half-day at home to finish up what I didn't get done yesterday." Everything got a bit hazy after that. I know David held me up and washed me before pulling me in his lap while he used a big warm fluffy towel to dry me. Next thing I knew, I was burrowed into his silky sheets and propped up on pillows he must have imported from heaven. "Go back to sleep, little prince. I'll be downstairs if you need anything." David placed a kiss on my forehead and tucked the comforter around me. I wondered if you could die from too much sex. Was that even a thing? Nah, couldn't be, but it did make me question what had happened to me. I'd always thought Coach Jensen was hot, and I was pretty sure I wasn't the only one who jacked off to fantasies about him. But it wasn't like this. Now just the thought of him and my dick got hard, and my hole clenched. I couldn't seem to get enough of him or David. The more they fucked me, the more I wanted. If I weren't so tired... Maybe if I sleep for an hour, I could get David to do me again. * Scene 2 * Rufus Jamal and I stepped into the store and glanced around, looking for Mr. Ward. "Can I help you?" a middle-aged woman asked. "We're here to see Mr. Ward. Is he available?" Jamal asked. "He's in his office. I'll take you back. Isn't it just awful? I don't know how he can be here with Tabby in the hospital." She led us to the back of the store and pointed us to an open door. "Thank you, ma'am," Jamal said. He entered first, and I followed. "James Ward?" Jamal asked, though I could have confirmed for him that this was Caleb and Danny's dad. "Yeah..." James looked up as if he was distracted. Confusion on his face first, then he spotted me and blushed before worry replaced the confusion. "Lord Bacchus has asked that you visit him at his estate for a chat," Jamal said, and the color drained from James's face. "I didn't have anything to do with it, I swear!" James said. "Just a chat, Mr. Ward. If you'd be so kind as to join us," Jamal continued. "But the store... I'll have to close. Dolores can't handle it on her own." "We'll wait until you lock up," Jamal said, crossing his arms and stepping out of the office. "You think he'll run?" I whispered. "I hope so." Jamal gave an evil smile. "Sadly, he seems too scared to think of it." It took about ten minutes before we were leaving the furniture store. The car was parked directly in front, so we didn't have far to go. Jamal directed James into the back and joined him while I drove. Bacchus Springs wasn't all that big, and it only took about ten minutes until we were pulling up at the house. We used the side entrance and left the car parked in the drive. Jamal stayed with Ward while I went on ahead to let Bacchus know we'd arrived and confirm where he wanted us to take Mr. Ward. I knocked and waited until Bacchus responded. I stepped in and closed the door behind me. "Did you bring him?" Bacchus asked. Benny was there as well, sitting on the corner of Bacchus's desk. "Jamal's got him. We weren't sure where you wanted us to take him." "My office is fine. Bring him here." Bacchus stood and gave a quick kiss to Benny. "You don't need to suffer through this one, love. It's a beautiful day; why not go out by the pool and get some sun." "Are you sure? I don't mind," Benny said, jumping off the desk. "I'm sure. You've had enough unpleasantness for a while." Bacchus smacked Ben's ass as he passed, making the jock laugh and blush. All of the Satyrs were a bit young and pretty for my tastes, but even I had to acknowledge that Ben had a great body. But for as much time as he spent working out, it wasn't much of a surprise. I followed Ben out and turned in the other direction to find Jamal waiting in the front hall. "Office." I nodded back down the hall. Jamal and I had worked together for several years and had become friends. He'd gone through the change at the same time I had, and we'd somewhat bonded. Most of the time, I tried not to think about that period of my life. Now, I was comfortable with my hellhound and could shift in a matter of seconds, and most importantly, with no pain. Jamal led James Ward into the office, and I followed behind. "Lord Bacchus," James said in a trembling voice as he bowed. "Ah...James. What am I going to do with you?" Bacchus said with a sigh. "Sir, I swear I didn't know they were coming after the boys." "Oh, I'm sure you didn't. But did you know what they were doing to your nieces and nephews? Did you know they were drugging them and pimping them out? Did you know about the artifact?" Bacchus's voice hit that low registry where it was closer to a growl. "I...uh..." Bacchus shook his head, then stepped up and placed a hand on either side of James's face, staring into his eyes. Bacchus began to glow, and both Jamal and I stepped closer to support James. We'd seen this enough to know that the one subjected to Bacchus's power couldn't stand on their own for long. "James, James, James. I am so disappointed in you." Bacchus dropped his hands, and Jamal and I helped James to the couch, where he tried to fold in on himself. I wanted to know what he found, but I sure wasn't going to ask. From the pitiful way James was acting and how he cowered, I didn't think it was good. "But..." James whimpered. "You knew about what they were doing for years, and you didn't think it was worth reporting? You didn't think it was suspicious when your brother said he'd worked it out, so I couldn't find out? And you didn't even ask how? How stupid are you, James?" "I..." "Well, I found out now, didn't I? Tell me, James. I'll give you one chance to explain, and it better match what I pulled out of your pitiful head." "Some of it started many years ago, but then about three years ago, Phillip met some guy in Portersville. He didn't tell us much, just that we'd earn good money and that the guy gave him a way that you'd never find out. He and Oscar bought a house in Portersville to use that was supposed to be invisible to your powers where we could take them for sex. Oscar and Ron set up some kind of online thing where clients could sign up for times. Phillip got the drugs from a pharmacist in Portersville that this guy recommended. He even told Phillip what to get and how much to give them. I swear, I wasn't involved in any of it." "Go on." Bacchus ground out. "The stuff that happened at Phillip's was just for us-the brothers. I...um...did some stuff I shouldn't have. Phillip's contact said we had to get them softened up and ready for the clients. I never went to the house in Portersville, that was the other three. Then, when Dan got older, they said he needed to be included. I refused, and they told me it was too late. They said Danny was the prettiest yet and would bring in good money, and if I didn't, they'd just take him and Caleb too." "And you still didn't come to me?" "I was afraid. I'd already done stuff... It had been years... I just focused on keeping them away and tried to avoid my brothers. It didn't work 'cause they started showing up, making threats, and then Tabitha caught part of it." "And she called me straight away," Bacchus added. The look in his eyes wasn't showing any promise of mercy for Mr. Ward. "I'm sorry." "So you knew your nieces and nephews weren't cleared. You knew they were too young, and yet you said nothing. You let them be drugged and used like whores, and you thought that was okay?" "Well, no..." "But you used them too, didn't you, James? And let's be honest, the only reason you objected to them taking your sons was because you knew Tabitha would find out. You didn't object because you cared about the boys. You cared because you knew Tabitha would destroy you." James looked up with tears in his eyes but didn't say anything. Bacchus turned to me and Jamal. "He doesn't know anything more about the artifact or the contacts in Portersville. He's still scum, but there's nothing more to get out of him." "What would you like us to do?" I asked. At first, I was a little disappointed that I was going to lose a fuck, but the more I heard, the more I decided I didn't want him anyway. "It's going to take some work." Bacchus turned back to look at James, stepping in and putting his finger under his chin to force him to make eye contact. "Is your father involved in any of this?" "He..." James averted his eyes and snapped his mouth closed. "Damn. What a shit show," Bacchus said, looking back at me. "Old man Ward is in just as deep." "Should we take him to Hades?" Jamal asked, and James let out a cry. "Not this one. I think I have a better punishment in mind for him. Take him across the veil and turn him over to Thereus. Tell him to have him prepared and taken to the pleasure rooms. If James thought it was suitable for his sons, he should reap the same. He can be available to anyone, but I think the Centaurs will enjoy him most." "NO! Please, Lord Bacchus, forgive me, I'll make it right, I promise," James pleaded. "I know you will, James. I'll fix everything so your family is taken care of while you are serving your penance. Not to worry, I will check in on you in a few years..." Bacchus turned to look at me, and I did my best not to squirm. "You're welcome to use him any time you choose, Rufus." "Thank you, Lord Bacchus, but I no longer find him appealing." I bowed deeply, not wanting to give offense since Bacchus was trying to be accommodating. "Understandable. I'd like you both to escort him, and please give my best to Thereus. Let him know I will check in with him personally. It has been a while." "As you wish. Do we need to do something about the store or follow up with his family? It will create a stir if he just disappears," I asked. "Please, Lord Bacchus, I'm sorry, please don't-" Bacchus waved his hand, and James went silent. "We'll figure that out when you return. First I have to go visit Bart. I think James's father has some explaining to do." "Do you want us to go with you?" Jamal asked. "No, I'll call Jed and have him take me. We can talk later today." Bacchus turned back to his desk and picked up the phone. I still found it amusing that he used human devices when he could just as easily have spoken into the sheriff's head. "Come on, James." Jamal had to drag the man off the couch, and I got under his other shoulder. Didn't seem that James was too keen on crossing over the veil. We got him to the gateway, and Jamal activated it, selecting the location before we stepped through into the other realm. * Scene 3 * David Martinez I was making good progress on the work I'd missed the day before. I didn't have any appointments scheduled, but I had a number of things to review and emails to answer. Jon and Jake were already at work, and I made sure Ethan offered Dan a good breakfast. Obviously, Dan was still a little freaked out, but my boy had done pretty well at distracting him. I sat back and pictured Ethan for a minute- guilty pleasures-yeah, bad me. Who'd have thought after that first time he'd come in my room that he'd be a welcome regular. Could I be any more fucked up? No, bad question, the answer was an undeniable yes. I'd expected Ford's construction crew to be more apparent as they worked on the basement. So far, I hadn't heard much after I greeted them, and they headed downstairs. Ford wasn't with them today, but one of the guys said he'd be coming by later. "Have you heard anything more?" Dan asked from the doorway to my office. "No, buddy. Do you want me to call Paula?" I'd spoken to her first thing this morning when she'd called to check on the boys. She'd mentioned that Bacchus had assured her that they were fine and staying with me when he'd gone to help with Tabitha. That was how I now had her phone number. "Please?" Dan asked before he ducked out. I pulled out my phone to call when I heard someone coming down the front stairs. Seconds later, Caleb came in. "Morning, sport. You feeling better?" "Mm..." Caleb smiled and came over to me, pushing the chair back and sitting in my lap with his arm wrapped around my shoulders. He leaned in and whispered. "I'd feel better if you fucked me again." "Yeah? You're a needy one, aren't you?" I worried that maybe I'd fed too much from him. I hadn't made any more changes; he didn't need them; however, I had kept his fire stoked the whole night. And maybe brought his spent body back more times than was wise. "Please. It feels so good when you're inside me." "Why don't you eat breakfast and take a breather. I was just about to call Paula and get an update on your mom." I could tell his lust was still going strong. He'd probably sleep for a day once it finally faded. Caleb scowled but nodded and stood up. I let out a chuckle and dialed Paula. "Hey, David," she answered after the second ring. "Hi, Paula. The boys wanted me to check in. Any change?" "She was awake for a few minutes and was worried about Dan and Caleb. The nurses think they'll keep her another day, at least. They're monitoring to make sure the drugs didn't do any damage to her organs, and they want to keep her on fluids. But I think it would be good for her to see her sons in person." "Do you want me to bring them over to the hospital?" "No, I need to run to the house and get a few things for Tabby. I'll swing by and pick them up if that's okay with you." "What about later? I know they're old enough to stay on their own, but with everything that happened, I'd feel better if someone was there. And let's be honest, their dad doesn't count." "Bastard. You know he didn't even come to the hospital? He called. Damn son of a bitch called the nurses station, and that was it." "I tried to compel him to be a good husband. I'm not sure what went wrong," I confessed. "Oh, honey. You don't know those Ward men. To him, a good husband provides food and shelter and occasionally sex. What a jerk. But I'm not wasting any more breath on him. I'll stay at the house with them." "Okay, but if you need anything, just let me know." "Will do, sugar. I'll be there in a few. Bye." I ended the call and slid the phone back into my pocket. What a mess. I walked into the kitchen and found all three guys at the breakfast bar debating the merits of Pop-Tarts. "Hey, I talked to Paula, and she's stopping by to take you two over to the hospital. Your mom wants to see that you're both well with her own eyes." "Is she going to be okay?" Dan asked. "That's what they're saying. I don't think the doctor's done rounds yet this morning. Bacchus said she'd be fine, so I'm going with that. Paula's going to stay at your place until your mom comes home." "She oughta just move in," Caleb said around a mouth full of pastry. "Caleb! We're not supposed to..." "Pfft, he knows, don't ya, David? You know Mom and Paula are bumping uglies?" I couldn't help the laugh that snuck out. "Yeah, and I think it's great. But Dan's right, might be best not to talk about it until your mom and Paula are ready to go public." "Eh, okay." Caleb returned to his breakfast. I saw the meaningful stare that Dan and Ethan shared, but things were complicated enough without me trying to fix that. It would work out, and I'd make sure Paula knew Dan and Caleb were welcome any time. The front doorbell rang, and I left the boys to finish up while I checked. I caught Paula's profile through the window before I got to the vestibule. "Hey! Come on in," I was surprised when she pulled me into a hug. "Thanks for everything," Paula said, running a hand through her strawberry blond hair. "Sure, the boys are just finishing up breakfast." I led her into the kitchen. "Your place is absolutely gorgeous. It's hard to believe it's the same house." "Thank you." "Hey, guys. You ready?" Paula asked. "She's going to be okay, right?" Caleb asked. "Yeah, honey. The doctor came in right as I was leaving, and he said so far, everything looks real good." "Maybe we should just stay here so Mom can rest," Caleb suggested. Of course I knew that his reasons for staying had nothing to do with his mother's well-being. "She really wants to see you and give you a big hug. Tell you what, I'll let you drive. How's that?" "What?" Dan jumped in. "Did you bring the Camaro?" Caleb asked with wide eyes. "I did. You think you can handle it?" Paula leaned close and asked it in a conspiratorial tone. "Fuck, yeah!" Caleb shouted. "Language," Paula reminded him. "Hey! Why does he get to drive?" Dan objected. "If you play your cards right, I'll let you drive on the next visit." Paula gave me a big smile. Damn, that woman was dangerous. She got Caleb to stop thinking about sex. I was thinking I needed to make sure that she and Tabitha stayed a couple. The boys could use her influence in their lives. Once they were gone, things got quiet quickly. Ethan went over to the mayor's son, Josh Cavanaugh's house, and Emma was picking up some part- time hours working at the one and only daycare in town. I enjoyed the lack of excitement. My interim secretary, Kelsey called to remind me of social engagements scheduled with the new hires over the next several days. I was doing a dinner the next four nights plus lunch on Saturday with Troy Cavanaugh's nephew, Brian. I wondered if I'd be sick of Vine's, the restaurant at the winery, by the time I was done. Since everyone but Brian would be staying at the resort, I figured they'd already avail themselves of Dion's. Most of my new hires had scheduled a tour of Bacchus Springs and were going to meet with a realtor for some house shopping. Well, everyone but Brian whose family was already living in Bacchus Springs and who was being personally handled by his uncle, and Gray Laurenzano who hadn't committed yet. I was pretty sure that was because of his wife, but Bacchus already agreed to help me with that one. * Scene 4 * Benny Donaldson A beautiful sunny day. I had planned on relaxing at the pool yesterday, but Dad had called and asked me to pitch in at the gym when one of the guys called off sick. I'd bailed on him so many times I didn't feel like I could refuse. It ended up only being for a few hours, and the distraction was nice. Especially given the mood Bacchus was in. I walked through the pool gate and couldn't help but smile when I saw how many of my fellow satyrs were there. According to Victor, who'd been a satyr the longest of all of us, living with Bacchus was like our own private Club Med. I couldn't say, having never been out of the states. "Benny! I'm surprised you're still walking," Sin teased as he got up from the lounger and walked over to me. The whole curse thing was really a crime. Sin was gorgeous, and his brown skin glowed and contrasted nicely against the yellow speedo. I missed the sex we used to have. "Eh...a little tired but otherwise doing good." I'd slept more than usual yesterday, so was almost back to normal. "You've got to tell us all about it. Come on." Sin grabbed my hand and dragged me over to the lounger next to him. Spreading out one of the towels for me. "Did you sunscreen?" "Not yet." I usually waited until I was at the pool. They kept a supply of sunscreen with the towels, and there was almost always someone else to help you get the hard to reach places. "Hey! Don't hog him, Sin!" Jinho called out, coming over with a bottle in hand. His skin was already darkened to a beautiful deep gold. He wore his hair long-down to his shoulders-but often had it pulled back. Today it was loose, and I found it hard to look away. He was more pretty than handsome, and the black thong left almost nothing to the imagination. He claimed his ancestry was Korean, but he sounded like any other Bostonian. I never heard how Bacchus found him. "How about we share?" Sin said. A sharp snap and pain had my head swiveling. "Damn it, Matthew!" "Good to see you're still moving, little bro," Matthew said, twisting the towel for another go. "You should talk! How many times have you slept the entire day after being at the Martinez's?" "Not nearly enough." Matthew smiled and got a dopey look on his face. "Ugh. Don't remind us, Benny. Not everyone gets to play with the erotes." Jinho gave Matthew a withering glare. "Jealous?" Matthew snickered as he found a chair. "Very," Jinho snorted. "Not my fault Bacchus put limits on who could help them out." Matthew stretched out, showing off his athletic build and finely honed muscles. Other than me, Matthew and Juan Carlo were the most built. Sin pushed me back onto the chair and squirted the lotion in his hand and began rubbing it in, starting at my neck. He handed the bottle to Jinho, who started on my legs. "So, spill. How was it?" "Sex with Anteros was amazing. Having to watch the furies work on Mrs. Walsh, not so much." I told them what happened, probably in more detail than was necessary, but they wouldn't let me skip over anything. They continued spreading the sunscreen, and Jinho seemed to be really worried that my speedo might shift and I'd get a sunburned dick. Not likely, but I wasn't going to complain when he pulled it off and made sure every inch of me was very well attended to. They had me flip over, and I didn't even object when he worked his fingers into places where the sun would never reach. I'm just a cooperative guy like that. "So you think he'll be back around?" Sin asked, sitting back on his chair. "No idea. I'm more worried that Megaera will show up." Sin shuddered, and I could tell he of anyone knew exactly what I was talking about. Jinho said he'd never met any of the Furies and had no plans on doing so. He was still rubbing my ass and thighs as we talked. I wasn't sure if he was intentionally trying to get me worked up or if it was just habit. We spent so much of our time seducing people-well, only men for me-that some touches and moves became second nature. "Lie flat," Jinho ordered. "Were you with Bacchus last night?" Blaze asked as he sat on the edge of Sin's chair. Unlike the rest of us, Blaze was in full board shirts with a long-sleeved sun shirt and bucket hat. He still looked good, but I understood why he was so careful with his milky white skin. "Yeah, why?" "He seemed pretty upset and distracted at dinner," Blaze said. "Ya think?" Jinho said. "He was. I don't know exactly what happened, but his meeting with Zeus wasn't pleasant and I think he was more than a little angry that the Wards managed to hide so much from him. He also has to visit Hades today, and that always makes him grumpy." I was expecting another angry fuck tonight. "I feel so bad for Caleb and Dan. That must have been awful, and their cousins...geesh," Jinho said as his finger started absently teasing my hole again. "I'm glad he took the others across the veil. I assume he's going to talk to Hades about the uncles?" Blaze asked. "He didn't explain when he told us what happened." "Yeah. But get this, he's taking David with him." "Shit. Is that a good idea?" Blaze sounded worried. "I'm sure he knows what he's doing. Fuck, Benny, you are so tight. I thought for sure Bacchus would have made good use of this hot ass." "Mmm... He did, but that was hours ago." I found it harder and harder to think as Jinho's finger went deeper, sending tingles through my body. "The wonderful magic ass." Blaze reached over and rubbed Sin's leg. "Hey, it's going to be okay, Sin. David told me that he and Jon are going to make sure you get fixed up. And...when you're all better, you can fuck me as much as you want." "Ha-ha, me too," Jinho added. "Probably not a brother here who won't gladly help you make up for lost time." "Thank you, guys. You don't know how much that means to me." Sin said. "I'm going to go get a water. Anyone else want one?" Blaze asked. "Yes, please," I said and was echoed by Sin and Jinho. "Guess it's a little early for beach drinks." "Pfft, never," Jinho said as his finger hit my magic spot. "Ughhh... Would you quit teasing and just fuck me!" "Here ya go, Jin," Blaze said, and I heard Jinho catch something. Moments later, I felt the warm slick of lube being spread into my hole. Guess he hadn't tossed a water bottle. The lube was kept with the towels too. "Mmm..." Jinho pushed a second finger into me, then a third as he got me prepped. I was considering begging when he finally got into position and gave me what I wanted. It still burned a little as his cock slid inside me. Once he was fully seated, he began to thrust and stretched his body over mine, sliding his arms under my shoulders to hold me in place. "So good," I moaned. "I was thinking the same." Jinho turned my head and kissed me. "Guess the party has started." Victor's voice cut through the haze. "I mean, who can resist this ass?" Jinho laughed. "Pretty much, no one. But I'm thinking Matthew over there looks kinda lonely. Hey, stud! Slick up that dick. I wanna ride," Victor shouted. "See what you started? It's going to be an all-out orgy soon," Jinho whispered. He was fucking deep and hard as his tongue trailed along the shell of my ear. "Fuck. I hope so," I groaned. I wouldn't mind having a couple more after Jinho was done. Jinho gripped my hair and pulled my head back. "Look what Julian has for you," Jinho said. Julian was straddling the chair, his hard cock in my face. He gripped it and spread his pre-cum over my lips. "Just what you wanted." I tried to take him into my mouth, but the angle wasn't right. Jinho must have realized because he sat back, letting me prop up on my elbows before he wrapped himself around me again. "Go for it, Benny. Everyone knows you're never satisfied with just one dick," Jinho teased. I opened for Julian and sucked him in as Jinho continued to fuck me hard and deep. Jinho was right, I did prefer having a dick in both ends, but then again, so did the other satyrs. I'm not sure if it was the magic or the nature of satyrs but all of us were versatile and liked having sex with multiple partners at a time. "Think you started something," Jinho said. "At least Matthew didn't decide he was too good for us. I mean with as much dick as he's getting at the Martinez's I was worried he'd give us the cold shoulder," Julian said. "Nah. If anything, he and Blaze are hornier than ever. He'll take Blaze and Victor and still want more," Jinho responded. I couldn't turn my head far enough to see. Besides, that would have meant letting Julian's dick out of my mouth and that was not happening. Though I was still able to hear them and I had no trouble picturing the scene with Matthew pounding into Victor while he sucked Blaze. "Hey Benny, I'm coming for your ass next!" Matthew shouted. I smiled around Julian's cock. It was going to be a good day. * Scene 5 * David Martinez I looked up when I heard a knock at the door to my home office. "You have a second?" Ford asked. "Hey! I didn't even hear you arrive." I looked at the handsome man and my body responded immediately, my mouth watering. I could smell his savory lust, and having fed from him before, I was ready to have another taste. "I was going to give you an update and get you to take a look at where we are. We're down to the final finishing work, and I want to make sure you're happy with everything so far." "Sure." I stood, pushing the chair back, and walked over to him, the scent of his arousal more enticing the closer I got. He didn't move, and I was almost pressed to him before he said anything. "Maybe once we're done, you could feed from me and maybe give me another go at that magnificent dick. I've missed it," Ford said. "Yeah? I'd like that." I closed the distance and kissed him, his mouth opening to me and his arms wrapping around me to pull me in. He made the sweetest moans as our bodies ground against each other. "Mm... That is a lovely sight." Bacchus's voice startled both of us, and we jumped back from each other, turning to see the man standing in the middle of my office, a smirk on his face. I must have really been in the zone because I didn't hear him or smell anything when he arrived. Now that I wasn't focused on Ford, I wasn't sure how I missed it. Whether it was his power or his scent, my body took notice of his presence. I couldn't help but look him over and tried not to react to his knowing grin. Unlike his usual casual attire, the Greek god was dressed in a bespoke dark suit that accentuated his handsome features. "Sorry to interrupt you-because I really would have enjoyed watching that play out-but I have to steal David away for a while." Bacchus walked up to us and gripped the back of Ford's neck, pulling him into a kiss. "Hello, Ford. It's been a while. You taste just like I remember. Maybe I'll have you and David over for an evening. You know, to make up for stopping your fun." "Sir?" Ford looked either stunned or scared, from what I could read, maybe both. "If you don't mind excusing us, we need to be going." Bacchus turned Ford to the door, his hand gripping Ford's ass. "I'm confused," I said when Ford was out of sight. "I told you. We need to go visit Hades. Now...that will never do." He looked me over from head to toe. "Hades is not into casual. Go put on a suit." I was too unnerved to question him. I ran upstairs and searched through my suits to find the new one I'd had custom made on Bacchus's orders. It was a dark charcoal, almost black, but it set off my coloring really well. Of all my suits, it also showed off my build the best. I grabbed an ivory shirt and a simple regimental rep tie. Cufflinks and pocket square were the last touches. I glanced in the mirror and tried to get my hair to cooperate. It was getting long, but Bacchus forbid me from getting it cut again. When I stepped back into the room, Bacchus gave me a smile that warmed me. "Perfect. You ready?" "No. Are you going to tell me what we're doing or more importantly, what you expect of me?" "It's time you met Hades. We also have to follow up on the Ward brothers and let Hades know why we sent them into his care," Bacchus explained as he extended his hand. "You don't need to 'do' anything. Look pretty and answer any questions he asks. Pretend you're in a courtroom." "You do remember I've spent very little time in court? Different kind of law." "You'll do fine." Bacchus grinned and gripped my hand tighter before the tingling sensation of his magic flowed over my body. The next thing I knew, we were standing in what appeared to be a large underground cavern. There was a subtle red glow keeping the space from being completely dark, but it wasn't enough light for me to see but a few feet. In the distance, I could hear the sounds of water as if waves lapped against the shore. "Please don't tell me we're crossing the river Styx." My voice didn't sound nearly as strong as I'd hoped. "Of course not. That path is only for the dead. Come along." Bacchus took my hand again and walked away from the sound of water. I bit back the argument that according to legends, there were others who crossed the river. But then again, they were trying to rescue the souls of those who'd died. Maybe that made a difference. I was glad Bacchus was leading because I couldn't see anything to indicate where we were going. We entered a much narrower cutback into the cave wall. I could feel the stone brush against my shoulder periodically as we walked. We must have entered a larger cave. I could tell by the air currents and the way the sound echoed. There was a tiny red light ahead, looking very out of place. Bacchus led us right to it and reached out. A chime sounded, and I heard a swoosh. Part of the cave wall slid back. He stepped forward, pulling me along with him. Bacchus put his arm over my shoulder and turned to face the way we'd come. It was so dark I couldn't tell what was going on. "Hades likes dramatics. So you know, this is the entrance for welcome guests. Why he can't have a normal lift like everyone else, I'll never know." "Shouldn't there be guards? Maybe Cerberus or hell hounds or I don't know demons?" Bacchus laughed. "Don't believe everything you read. Cerberus was taken out of Hades's realm long ago by Hercules. And being here, I can assure you our presence is known. If we weren't welcome, we never would have made it past the main cavern." "I also thought you could just pop in whenever you wanted. Didn't Rufus and Jamal just visit yesterday?" "Yes and no. As hellhounds, they have more freedom to come and go. But even they only have access to certain places. Time works differently here as it does when I cross to the Olympus realm. I assure you they had to be cleared and wait, just like we will." I startled when I felt the ground move. Maybe this "was" an elevator. The doors opened revealing what looked like a modern office building. Bacchus dropped my hand as he exited and walked to what looked like a security or reception desk. The normal look was completely ruined by the man, or at least I assumed it was a man, behind the desk. His skin was reptilian in a deep red, and his eyes were bright yellow. Not to mention the extended pointed ears. "Lord Bacchus, welcome. And this handsome man must be the new erote, David, right?" The man said. "Correct," Bacchus replied. "You can go on up, he's expecting you. Have a good visit, gentlemen." He turned back to his console. We walked over to a kiosk where Bacchus entered the floor number and then proceeded to the lift it indicated. "Not what I expected for hell," I muttered. Bacchus chuckled. "For some, corporate life is hell. To each his own. But seriously, this isn't Tartaros. Consider this more of an in-between, connecting Hades's realm to earth, sky, and sea. Though definitely still in the underworld. The dead do not usually come here, it's mainly for the living and those who serve Hades." "Great hell has a headquarters' office." The lift looked normal when we stepped on. To say I was nervous would be an understatement. What if Hades didn't let me return? "Breathe, David. You aren't in danger, and no, he won't keep you here." Oddly the elevator didn't display the floor and made no sounds when the doors opened. I followed Bacchus into another open reception area. It was ultra-modern, chrome and glass. Unlike Bacchus's taste which leaned toward old-world grandeur, with lots of wood and leather, this was cold and sterile in comparison. A woman stood from her desk and approached us. At first, I thought she was just a typical human until I saw the horns peeking out from her blond hair. She looked at me and flashed a smile, revealing long canines and red eyes. "He's expecting you, go on in." Her voice was deeper than I expected and a bit gravely. Bacchus approached the large double doors, giving me an encouraging smile, he turned the handle and ushered me inside. Again, not at all what I expected. Still extremely modern, but Hades office was white, like really, really white. White marble floors, white area rugs, white walls, white leather-looking furniture. The desk and tables were either glass or acrylic-I couldn't be sure. The modern artwork on the walls and the pillows on the couch were the only splashes of vibrant color. One whole side of the room was floor to ceiling windows, but as I watched, the view changed from a cityscape to a mountain scene. Maybe not really windows? "Bacchus! And..." The man behind the desk, who I assumed had to be Hades, let out an audible sigh. If it weren't for different coloring, he could have been Bacchus's twin. Movie star handsome, with jet black hair, eyes, beard, and a milky white complexion. "The trouble maker." Uh-oh, that didn't sound good. "Now, Hades-" Bacchus started. "I know, I know, it wasn't his fault. Sorry, David, isn't it?" Hades approached and extended a hand. I took it more than a little worried but trusting that Bacchus had my back and wouldn't let me do anything stupid or life-ending. "Hm...you certainly look like one of them. And let's be honest, all of the love gods bring trouble, whether they intend to or not. But you...so many headaches." "As you said, none of that was his doing," Bacchus reminded him. "Forgive me. You know I hate having to apologize and being indebted to Aphrodite makes me twitchy. She took great exception to one of mine interfering." "I assume the guilty party has been dealt with?" Bacchus said. "Assuredly. I offered up the rogue demon to Aphrodite, but she insisted I deal with him. He's now living in eternal pain and torment in Tartaros, as are any of the others who assisted him or turned a blind eye." I wondered if they'd ever discovered why or if there was anyone else behind our problems, but I wasn't about to ask. I figured that was for Aphrodite and Bacchus to deal with. "May I?" Hades asked, lifting a hand to my face. "Um, okay?" I wasn't sure what I was agreeing to. Like the other gods, I could feel his power, even stronger than Bacchus or Aphrodite. As the god of the dead, I expected him to be cold, but instead, a warm heat filled me as his hand cupped my cheek. His dark eyes seemed to look into my soul, and I felt frozen to the spot. I was doing my best to keep my mojo locked down, but it was getting harder and harder to concentrate. I was becoming more aroused by the second. It almost felt like he was prodding my powers. Hades's fingers stroked over my lips. 'You are very tempting,' his voice echoed in my mind. 'I think you should visit me again without your chaperone. The time without Persephone is dark and lonely, and I promise I could show you pleasures you haven't even imagined. I can assure you that she is not jealous of me taking men to my bed, so you need not fear her wrath. And unlike your brothers, you are more man than boy. That appeals to me very much.' I was struggling to breathe. I seemed to be held fast. My body reacting to the god of its own volition. Part of me was terrified, and yet another part of me wanted nothing more than to lie with the god of the underworld. It didn't hurt that he was more attractive and handsome than I'd ever imagined. He dropped his hand, and I felt my body's control return to me. I hadn't answered his mental question, but from the sparkle in his eyes, I'm not sure he expected me to. "Truly stunning. Have you taken him to Olympus? They'd be all over this one, so handsome, and his power..." Hades visibly shuddered. "Erotes, can't resist them even if you wanted to. But you... He's just a baby, isn't he?" "He is very new to his powers. Though Eros said he will be as strong as the rest," Bacchus said. "Impressive. I'm honestly surprised you and Aphrodite were able to pull it off." He turned to look at me again. "I see the resemblance, and from the feel of his power, I'd guess Eros's line. You'll need to be careful with this one. He's still too naive and innocent to protect himself. I don't think his mind has caught up with his abilities. Though, now that I've met him, I can feel yours as well as Aphrodite's mark. The demon had to have been stupid and blind to miss it. " "Not that I disagree, but my mark is recent. Aphrodite chose him when he was a teen. We are both keeping a close watch over him and his son, Jon. You also may be interested to know that Aphrodite has taken an interest in the human world again. She is now a frequent visitor and has requested a temple." "That is interesting. I think you started something. My sources tell me the pantheon is watching you closely. Your success and building power has caught their attention." Hades gestured to the couch. I waited until Bacchus took a seat before I joined him. Hades sat across from us in one of the chairs. I had to wonder if Bacchus heard or knew that Hades was speaking into my mind. Would he care? "I have offered to include you if you ever wish to do more in the world above," Bacchus said. "I appreciate those you have sent my way and would like to continue with our current arrangement. I don't need a temple, the dead come to me regardless, and it's not like I need you to hurry them along. Ares does that just fine on his own. Now, I'm sure you're not only here to tempt me with the new love god." "No, that wasn't my intent. But I did want you to meet David in person, so you didn't hold the recent unpleasant events against him, and I wanted to follow up on the three I sent to the kennels yesterday," Bacchus said. "He clearly is an innocent, though..." A cold smile spread across Hades's face. "That's not going to be workable once he comes fully into his powers." He gave a meaningful look to Bacchus that I couldn't interpret. "Then again, you know that. As to the men you sent, I've heard their screams and pleas, yes I'm aware of them. Your timing was perfect. I'd just bound several new souls into hounds. They're always so aggressive and horny while they adjust to their new form. It takes a few weeks before they'll be able to shift back to human." "I'm glad you could make use of them. If you haven't weighed their souls personally, I doubt there is any question of their ultimate destination," Bacchus said. "Are you sure you don't want to just send them on? You're right, there's no question they'll be going to Tartaros, not Elysium. Interesting that their father passed through earlier today." Hades let the statement hang in the air like a question. "Then you already know he was of a similar ilk. And yes, I may have given him a nudge. As for the brothers-if you are willing, I would like to witness their suffering for a time. Pay them a visit now and again to remind them of their errors. You always say you have trouble finding the right type for the kennels. I thought they would do nicely. Besides, I rather like the idea of them being knotted and bred regularly," Bacchus said. I had to fight the urge to grimace or squirm in place. I was hoping Bacchus wouldn't bring me along for that trip. Hades kept his poker face, showing nothing of his reaction. "As long as my hounds enjoy them. The hellhounds are my priority. And you'll leave their disposition to me? If I choose to keep them in the kennels and let my hounds use them or send them on?" "Of course." "I will not count this toward our agreement or your tribute," Hades said. "Agreed. I will still send you the young men and women we agreed on." Bacchus glanced at me, and I felt the unspoken command not to say anything or ask questions. I was so ready to leave. "You haven't asked about her," Hades said as if we should know who he was talking about. "As I told you, I relinquished all claim and left that to you and Aphrodite to work on," Bacchus said. That's when it clicked into place. They were talking about Dean's soon- to-be ex-wife, Kelly. "And Aphrodite didn't tell you?" "No, and I thought it best not to ask and remind her of the situation," Bacchus admitted. Hades shrugged. "She does have a temper." The hint of a smile played across his face before it vanished just as quickly. "Let me show you. What is the new expression? A picture is worth a thousand words?" Hades stood and waited for us to join him. I could feel some apprehension through my connection with Bacchus but didn't know how to interpret it. Was he upset or more worried about my reaction? Since no one was asking my opinion, I assumed I'd just have to suck it up and do my best not to show any emotion-no matter what I saw. I tried to keep my imagination in check, assuming it wouldn't be as bad as what my mind conjured. As we left the office, I was struck again with the strong resemblance between the two Greek gods. They were also both dressed similarly in dark suits that were perfectly tailored to their physiques. Hades had a much more conservative, short haircut, but even so... "I was explaining to David that this is not Tartaros, but rather a place in between," Bacchus said as we walked back to the elevator. "As good a description as any. This place allows me to deal with my servants as well as the living, and for some who have died, it is a place for penance. I've also found that completely cutting myself off from the sky, earth, and sea is not to my benefit. I'm still able to quickly get to the Elysium or Tartaros when needed. The dead who serve here will eventually pass on to Tartaros, but for a time, they work for me, keeping everything running smoothly. Those who died and led holy and just lives immediately pass on to the fields, though on occasion, I've had a few requests to work for a time before they moved on." Okay, that kind of made sense, and while what I'd seen looked a bit cold and formal, the setting was better than what I pictured of his realm. The lift doors opened, and I could see a sea of small cubicles, which I certainly would have considered purgatory. A man stepped onto the elevator, bowing to Hades but not saying a word. He traveled with us for what I assumed was a few floors, then exited to another sea of cubicles. The doors closed and Bacchus snickered. "You do have a cruel streak." "Please. It's only fair and just that they toil for a few centuries after the number of those they trod on to make their fortunes. They never cared for those below them when they were alive." "I assume that was a soul serving penance?" I couldn't help but ask. "Yes. It takes them a while to remember, but they didn't all start at the top of the ladder. It will never be enough to save them, but at least they have a clearer understanding of the misery they caused before the real punishment begins." Hades's words were matter of fact, with no emotion. "You haven't mentioned the old biddy. I don't think David's up to seeing that one. I'm afraid my demons went a bit hard on her when they were playing. I had her softened up some before I stripped her mind to get all the useful information we needed... Demons don't always understand restraint and certainly don't believe in safe words." "She's dead and moved on?" Bacchus asked. "No. Though I'm sure she wishes for death. She's being kept alive for the demons' pleasure. Her beliefs and mindset made her almost too perfect for their entertainment. A much better fit than Kelly. I'll let them play with her until her mind is gone and they tire of her. Once she passes into Tartaros, all the memories of what they did will come back. She'll get to relive them for eternity." Okay, so I really hated Mrs. Cokesbury, but that still seemed excessive. I wondered if Hades got some pleasure or enjoyment out of the punishment, but I didn't get that sense from what I could read from him or his expressions. The next time the doors opened, the scene before us was completely different. We stepped out into what I'd describe as an opulent palace. The floors were elaborate stone inlaid with semi-precious gems. The room was over the top, accented in more gold than I'd ever seen in my life. Mirrors reflected the gems and gold making the entire space sparkle. Hades led us through grand rooms and parlors, one after another, that were jaw-dropping in the excessive use of riches. We reached a long, mirrored hallway lit by massive crystal chandeliers. Their light reflected off of even more mirrors giving the gold leaf an almost unreal glow. We moved past several sets of gilded doors with gold handles, finally stopping. As soon as we'd entered the hallway, my power had resonated with the amount of lust nearby. Muffled sounds that I had no doubt originated from sex and depravities I didn't want to see. Maybe if I weren't an erote, I'd have been able to ignore it or perhaps not had such clear images as to the cause. Hades opened the door to lead us into a room worthy of a high-class bordello out of a gothic romance. The difference in this room was the deep red carpets, wall coverings, and bedding. A huge round bed took up the center of the room. I blushed at the sight of those occupying it. Several men were enjoying the favors of a woman, scantily clad, in revealing silks and more gems. Even with the silks, nothing seemed to be hidden. My face heated even more. When Hades and Bacchus remained silent, I knew I was missing something. I moved a little to the side and closer to see the woman's face. Given that it was buried in a muscled man's crotch with his dick down her throat... Oh my god. I stumbled back, my hand over my mouth. "She has been very popular. It took a while to get her trained, but I think she's finally caught on. My human hellhounds and servants have been enjoying having another dedicated pleasure slave," Hades said. I was still stunned. The woman on the bed was Kelly. Dean's wife. The one who made the deals with the demons and offered Emma and Ethan as payment. A nauseous feeling grew in my gut seeing much more of Kelly than I ever wanted. It didn't matter how attractive she was, that was once Dean's wife. I looked at Bacchus, hoping he could give me a hint. I was getting used to him always knowing my thoughts. "It's very simple. She took the place of the two children she tried to barter. The contract she signed and the one she attempted for Ethan would have put them where she is now. She is still living but must fulfill the deals she made with the demons," Bacchus explained. "But the one for Ethan never went through," I said. "Well I did make some adjustments. I let Mrs. Cokesbury take Kelly's place with the demons and assigned her to my servants instead. It was a better fit for both of them. You must understand, David, she signed the contract and made a commitment. I interceded and stopped it when I learned of questionable arrangements before her children were taken. But Kelly is still obligated. If I understand correctly, you are a lawyer. You of anyone should know to always read the details before you sign," Hades explained. "What, payment was due even if nothing was delivered?" I asked. Hades raised an eyebrow. "A deal with a demon is never in the other party's best interest." I guess that's when Kelly noticed we were there. She let out a scream and tried to pull a sheet up around her to the dismay of her partners. They growled when she moved away from them. "No, no, you can't see me like this!" she shrieked. "Get back to work, you weren't done!" one of the men shouted. I felt bad for Kelly. I could see the tears and knew she was distraught having me see her in her misery. I think I would have been happier never to have seen it myself. "Please. You brought this on yourself, Kelly. You can't try to hide it now. You have men to take care of and more waiting their turn. Don't take our observation as an excuse to slack." Hades's words were sharper than I expected. Then again I wondered how jaded you would become if you had to deal with all of humanities' depravities. "For how long?" Bacchus asked, ignoring the scene before us as Kelly was pulled back into the orgy with the three men. Every orifice filled. Bacchus turned and followed Hades back into the hallway. I was glad to be out of there. "Two lifetimes, as was in the contract. She does not need to sleep and will not age until her contracts are fulfilled. After that, the years will catch up with her, and she'll likely pass on to Tartaros. It's possible if she serves well and without hesitation she could change her fate, but I don't think it's likely." I couldn't help but wonder if that's why the gods guarded their lives and immortality so carefully. Were the fates to cut their threads, I had no doubts there'd be very few if any sent on to the Elysium, either the Lethean fields or the Isles of the Blessed. "So she'll never return to earth?" I asked. "No. Let it be a lesson that you pass on, David. Don't sign deals with demons," Hades said. "Um, isn't it in your best interest for the demons to make deals?" "Not at all. I'm impartial and allow the other forces to work as they will. They do not become my concern until their death. I keep the balance, and just as I don't interfere with love gods making matches to fulfill people's lives, I don't stop demons from destroying them." I didn't like the answer, but I could also see his point. We were back on the lift, and I assumed returning to Hades's office. My assumption was proven true a few minutes later. We returned to the seats we'd had before, and I took the opportunity to let my mind sort all the revelations from our visit. "I notice you have a new assistant," Bacchus said. Hades scowled. It was probably the most emotion he'd shown since he'd been in my head. "Yes, Persephone took exception to the nymph-as usual. I liked her too much to risk reprisal, so moved her to a different position. It's not quite as convenient, but maybe it is better not to rub it in Persephone's face. If she spent more time here, it wouldn't be an issue. And we all know she's not keeping her legs closed when she visits Olympus." "You do what you have to do. Doesn't she visit here? I thought that was part of the reason you set up this realm," Bacchus asked. "She does and it's better than before. But she still spends too much time with Zeus's crowd. Fortunately the longest we're apart now is a month," Hades explained. "Speaking of my father, have you spoken with him recently?" Bacchus asked. "I try to speak to him as little as possible. But I did hear he was in quite a rage last evening. That wouldn't have anything to do with your visit, would it?" "Sadly. The three Ward brothers you're hosting had an ancient magic relic that hid them from any in the pantheon. You can likely expect one of father's court to request access." "I'm sure we can work something out. I assumed you'd already pulled everything from their minds you needed," Hades said. "I did. But you know how they are, he'll want someone to verify what I reported. Since it would have affected you as well, you may want to read them yourself. I'd hate for you to be caught off guard if by some misfortune one of yours was involved." Hades sighed. "I'll look into it." "I made sure to send several cases of our best wine to the bar. I'd have been glad to bring it here, but..." "That's fine. We can get deliveries from the other realms, but it's easier just to have them brought to the bar. Thank you. Before you leave, I wanted to ask if we could do another party? It's been an age, and I do so enjoy your people." Bacchus laughed. "You mean my nymphs?" "Some of the satyrs too. You've collected some lovely young men." I wondered what kind of party they were talking about and how often this happened. I couldn't help but notice that Hades and Bacchus seemed to have a very cooperative relationship. There was no posturing or one- upmanship. I'd been reading up on some of the Greek writings and wondered if they had always been close. It might explain why some thought they were one in the same-especially with the strong resemblance. "Are you ready to venture out, or do you want to have it here again?" Bacchus asked. "Best if you bring your people here. With the screw-ups of late, I don't dare risk taking my eyes off them for a while." "Understood." Bacchus stood and glanced down at me. "We've taken enough of your time. Thank you for seeing us and for taking care of some of my recent trouble makers." "My pleasure." Hades turned a heated gaze on me, and I heard his voice in my head. 'Speaking of trouble makers, I do hope to see you again soon, David. I think you would do well to have a few more gods in your court. I'm sure we can work out something mutually beneficial. I'll give you a way to contact me. You should know I've been in Kelly's mind. I know so very much about you and those around you. So many attractive souls.' "If I can be of any service, you have but to ask." Bacchus bowed and took my hand, drawing me toward the exit. 'Such an amazing ass, David. Why I'd say, it was so good as to be made for the gods. And, David...welcome to the family.' I heard Hades's mental chuckle as I stepped out, and Bacchus closed the door behind us. He gripped the back of my neck, and I felt his heat and power flow through me. "Breathe. We're leaving." The path back seemed shorter than on the way in and as soon as we reached the dark cavern, Bacchus zapped us back to my house, and I found myself standing in my office. "Wow, that was a lot to take in," I muttered, running my hands through my hair. "True. But necessary. You need Hades's support, David. He and I have always had a very good relationship, but I'm under no false assumption that it's more than a mutually beneficial business deal. I know he was drawn to you. Okay, maybe that's stating it mildly." "You knew he was mind-speaking me?" "I didn't 'know,' but from what I picked up, I assumed. We still need to teach you how to shield your thoughts. Did he proposition you?" "It wasn't so much of a question as an indication of intent," I admitted. "His powers far surpass mine; that doesn't surprise me. Many of my family are more prone to taking what they want than they are of asking." "Advice?" "Don't anger him. Figure out what you can accept and use your negotiation skills. Hades loves to make deals, and he's much more honest than his demons. He'll respect you much more if you play hardball." "The strong resemblance?" I asked, wondering why they looked so much alike. Unless the writers had it wrong, Hades was more like an uncle than a father. "Genetics and maybe for your benefit a little glamour. If he sensed you found my appearance pleasing, he's not above playing that up. You do realize that the more powerful gods, like Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon, can change their appearance and form at will? Who knows at this point what their 'true' form is." "Oh." I should have expected that. There were more than a few legends, but mostly those were attributed to Zeus. But as brothers, it did make sense that the others could have similar powers. "What's next?" "Back to life as usual. I'll look into who best can teach you and Jon how to shield. Likely it will be one of the erotes. I'm still working on the fallout from the Ward's but nothing I need from you at the moment. And you do have the Dara men to deal with." "Why us? Rakesh is your servant and he's been doing this stuff for a while. Why did you let him?" Bacchus reached out and put his palm to my cheek. "Because the fates told me that you and Jon would need to handle Rakesh. Taking on Sin was simply the logical choice." He then lifted his head and inhaled deeply. "Ford is still here, and I think you need to feed. I expect that Hades may have affected your hunger. You should take care of that." I didn't like his answers. How many other things had the fates set out for me? Why was it better for us to take care of Rakesh? I agreed with Jon that we couldn't let him continue but shouldn't it have been dealt with long ago. I was disappointed that Bacchus wasn't volunteering but I had that gut feeling that this was yet another part of some game, and I was a lowly pawn being moved on the board. "Until later..." Bacchus gave me a quick kiss and vanished. * Scene 6 * David Martinez I checked my watch and saw that we still have plenty of time. "So, you guys staying in tonight?" "Yeah. I promised Ethan we'd game with him. Maybe order in pizza," Jon said. "We're trying to distract him from worrying about Dan," Jake added. "Tonight's your dinner with Drake and his husband?" Jon asked. "Yeah, have you met them? I think all the new hires are staying at the resort except for Brian Cavanaugh." After everything that had happened, I was especially glad that only Dean knew about my unusual excursion. "He wouldn't be related to the mayor, would he?" Jake asked as he grabbed a soda from the refrigerator. "Yup. His nephew. He even looks like him, or maybe all the Cavanaugh men are blond, blue-eyed pretty boys." "Dad! Not very PC," Jon teased. I shrugged because it wasn't the first time we'd talked about Troy and his son Josh. "Just to warn you, Drake seems pretty chill, but his partner...eh. He gives me bad vibes. Might need some work. He comes across a little bossy and condescending. He stopped by to ask what the dress code was for Vines and seemed put out that ties weren't required." "Interesting. I really liked Drake. What'd you think?" Jon smirked. "Tasty. Nice body and pretty good looking. I think he'll fit in well, and just so you know, if he drools over you half as much as he does me, he'll be begging for it." "Wait. Who's begging?" Dean said as he walked in. He'd been upstairs changing to something more casual than what he wore at the bank. Dean had gone for a nice sports jacket over a snug tee and very form-fitting jeans. I approved. "One of Dad's new hires. You'll like him. I'd bet he's an otter, and I'm pretty sure he'd be down with you guys sharing him." "Yeah?" Dean asked with a grin. "Fuck!" Jake burst out laughing. "I am so glad I'm not the only one." "Only one, what? Did I miss something?" Dean looked confused. "I've been feeling guilty and thinking I must be a perv getting excited over the thought of the men Jon might bring home. Since I guess that's a thing." "If Eros was being honest with us, he pretty much said it was guaranteed," I said. "We got to roll with it for our men. Right, Jake? Eros said we need to make sure they're well fed," Dean said. "I'm still adjusting, but I'd do anything for this stud." Jake grabbed Jon and pulled him into a kiss. I bit my lip to keep from laughing as they went from PG to R in about ten seconds. "Hey! Save that for later. You promised me game time. Tell you what, if you can hold off, I'll suck off both of you. Or...even better you can both fuck me," Ethan said as he came into the kitchen." Dean grabbed him and rubbed his knuckles over Ethan's head. "Hey, watch the language. And don't even pretend that would be a sacrifice." "Guys! Can we not? This is supposed to be a family safe space, and I really don't need to hear all your plans." Emma glared at her dad and brother. I hadn't even realized she was there. "Ooooo. We could talk about Sin, and his big, magic dick and all those weird sounds he gets you to make," Ethan teased, then must have realized the danger because he tore out of the room. "You brat! You promised you wouldn't say anything! I'm going to kill you!" Emma screamed as she chased after him. Jake snickered. "Another normal day in the Martinez-Jensen house." "Well, we can set ground rules later, Dean and I need to get going." Ethan's comment just reminded me of what Bacchus said-like taking care of Sin, and I guess, his father. Sin I felt bad for, Rakesh, not so much. "Oh, and Jon, I'm leaving you the Audi. We're driving Drake and his partner, and the SUV works better for that." "Fine. I guess if you have to," Jon said dramatically. "You're spending too much time with Ethan," I said. "I heard that!" Ethan called from somewhere. Dean and I walked out the garage, and I realized how much I laughed and smiled since we were all living together. "So are you going to tell me about it?" Dean asked. "My trip to hell? I'd rather not talk about it, especially before dinner. Besides, there isn't time given how long it takes to get to the resort." "At least tell me, was it bad?" "As with all things related to Greek gods, it was complicated." I didn't look forward to telling him about Kelly. But we weren't going to build our relationship on lies and deception. I'd tell him everything and then help him deal. "I've been thinking..." Dean said as we climbed into the SUV. "Yeah?" "Is the invitation still open for us to officially move in?" "Of course." "The kids have both said they don't even like going in the old place, and yet, when we're at your house they laugh and joke around. I think it's time to move on. Clean out the old one, get rid of the memories, and sell it." "I'll help in any way I can. I'd be glad to pack up Kelly's stuff for you, so you don't even have to deal with it. Actually, if you tell me what you want to keep and what to pull out, I'll take care of all of it for you." "I love you." Dean reached across and squeezed my leg. "Love you too. And if there's anything you're not sure of or that you're just not ready to part with, we can store it." I was hoping he'd take me up on the offer. I knew that if he tried to do it himself, it would be rough and emotionally draining. Maybe being assured that Kelly wasn't coming back would help after all. "You wouldn't mind?" "Absolutely not. I'm pretty sure Jon and Jake would help me. There's no reason to feel guilty." "Deal. I'll start a list, and if you guys run into any questions, you can always ask," Dean said. I gave his hand a squeeze then turned into the drive for the resort. I was still adjusting to how close everything was after living in a New York City bedroom community. I pulled up to the entrance and parked. "Wait here, and I'll go in and get them." I jumped out and waved to the bellman. There were advantages to practically everyone in town knowing you on sight. I spotted Drake as soon as I got into the lobby and gave him a wave. I saw his partner stand from where he'd been seated on the couch, facing away from me. At least from this angle, I was pleased. He turned, and his eyes went wide, and his mouth dropped open. Okay, so my ego might have gotten a boost. I hadn't locked down my mojo, but I wasn't trying either. Given Jon's tentative warning, I was going to go for the jugular early on. I had enough stress in my life. "Oh. My. God!" Drake's husband finally said once his wits returned. Unfortunately, he said it loud enough that all the people nearby turned to look. What does it say when the people who were from Bacchus Springs looked at him, looked at me and smirked, then returned to what they were doing? I wasn't sure this was really the reputation that I wanted to precede me. Drake and his partner came up to me, and Drake extended a hand. "Mr. Martinez, it's great to see you again. This is my husband, Ross." "Pleased to meet you, Ross, and welcome to Bacchus Springs. I hope your time so far has been enjoyable." "Yeah..." Ross nodded but still looked somewhat glazed. He turned to Drake. "I get it now. He really could be the twin of that guy at the front desk. I thought you were exaggerating." "Oh, so you've met my son, Jon?" I asked, hoping to move them along. I gestured to the door figuring at least Drake would catch on. "Your son? You don't look old enough to have a son his age." "Oh, I can promise you, Jon is mine. I'm just blessed with good genes. It runs in the family." "Shit," Ross muttered. I opened the back door of the SUV for them to climb in. "Drake and Ross, this is my partner Dean." "You two are married?" Drake asked. "Not yet. But we will be." I didn't want Dean to doubt me, even for a second. His smile was all the reward I needed. I noticed Ross was drooling again, and from what I was picking up, Drake wasn't unaffected. Damn right I had a handsome man. "Have you started house hunting?" Dean asked. "Yeah. Nothing for sure yet, but we found a couple that might work," Drake said. "I still can't believe how much cheaper it is here," Ross added. "Have you decided what you're looking for?" I asked. "We're trying to keep an open mind. Right now, we're in an overpriced apartment, so just having our own space will be nice. We do need a place that has room to set up a home office for Ross. One of the places we liked used to be a farm. It still has a lot of land, but I never thought it was something I'd even consider," Drake said. "Well, as long as you're in Bacchus Springs, it's worth keeping it on the list. Nothing is too far away, so it's not like you have to worry about a commute," Dean said. "We told the agent we were only interested in places in Bacchus Springs," Ross added. "Guess I should have told you this before, but we're going to the restaurant at the winery this evening. We don't have a lot to choose from, and the other classy place is Dion's, which is at your hotel." "We were planning to try it tomorrow night," Drake said. "You'll like it. Or at least I hope you do. Nothing here is as formal as in the city, but I promise they have a five-star chef, and the food is excellent. Vine's is the other upscale choice. It's a little more rustic and overlooks the vineyards, but the food is amazing. Their specialty is steak." "Sounds good to me," Drake said, and in the rearview mirror, I caught him giving a warning look to his husband. It didn't take long until we were being seated. I was pleased that Ross had relaxed a bit and was perhaps more impressed than he expected. I ordered wine and appetizers to start us off while everyone checked out the menu. I already knew what I wanted, so took the time to really look at Drake and Ross. I was pretty sure you couldn't help but like Drake, probably because of his smile. His eyes sparkled, and he had such an open and welcoming expression you couldn't help but be sucked in. I decided to go a little deeper. Drake was an open book and easy to read. He was really excited for the new job and moving. I already had a good feel for him and his likes from when he interviewed. I confirmed that his lust for me had only increased and that he was very attracted to Dean and was hoping we were in an open relationship like he and Ross. I was glad I made the decision to hire him. I had no doubt he'd fit in well. Ross, on the other hand, was a convoluted mess. Not that he was bad looking, he was better than average. I'd guess around five foot ten, with a blond fade and a short-cropped beard in a darker shade-edging toward brown. His blue eyes were wary and calculating, not welcoming like his partner. On the inside, he was struggling not to throw himself at me. I found it amusing that he considered himself a dedicated top. I had no issues with a man having a preference, but to not even give your husband what he wanted? No, that wasn't cool. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I felt Jo approaching. "Good evening, gentlemen." Joanna Campbell greeted the table, her hands resting on my shoulders before she leaned in and kissed my cheek. Then she did the same with Dean. His blush was adorable. "What brings you out this evening?" "Jo, let me introduce Drake and Ross Bailey-Parks. Drake is one of the new attorneys who's joining us. Guys, Joanna is the C.O.O. of Bacchus Industries, among many other things, including the overlord of Vine's and the vineyard operation." She gave me a playful smack. "So you're allowed to have outside interests?" Drake asked in surprise. "Well, technically, this is more of a business venture, and don't tell anyone but it's owned by Bacchus Industries," Jo whispered as if imparting a secret. "Don't fall for it. Everyone in town knows. Most of the executives have businesses they mentor. It falls under the 'other duties as assigned' section." I thought Drake found it interesting while Ross looked skeptical. "Well, regardless, welcome and please enjoy your meal. Don't hesitate to ask for me if needed." Jo gave a wave and moved on to the next table of guests. "That's one put-together lady," Drake commented in admiration. "She is, and you'll likely have the opportunity to work with her at some point." The server returned and took our orders. I was pleased that neither Drake nor Ross chose things for image rather than what they wanted. "So what's the business that you're mentoring?" Ross asked. "I'm new enough that I don't have one yet. However, there are plans to open up another bar and restaurant that I've been told will be my responsibility." "You have experience running a restaurant?" Ross asked, and Dean burst into laughter, trying to cover by taking a drink of his water. "Goodness, no. We hire the experts for that. We're more like champions to get them funding, help them resolve political issues with town, and act as ambassadors." I found it hard to explain when the couple had no understanding of Bacchus or the control he had over the town and its people. They'd learn but for now, trying to explain more was pointless. Conversation returned to more mundane topics like what they'd seen of Bacchus Springs and how the house hunting was going. I wasn't planning on making any adjustments or feeding off either of them just yet. I wanted them to get more settled before I threw that at them. My powers weren't completely shielded but enough so that we didn't cause a scene. Drake and Ross still couldn't help but stare occasionally, and their thoughts were quite interesting and maybe informative. "Okay, I gotta ask," Ross said. "I look at the two of you, and I can't tell. Which one of you is the top?" Drake gasped, and Dean gripped my leg where his hand had been resting hard enough to cause pain. "Excuse me?" I managed to get out politely. "You know, if you're a couple, one of you is the pitcher, and one of you catches. I mean, no one is going to miss looking at us and not figure out that I'm obviously the top. But you're both such jock types and muscled, I can't figure it out." Drake buried his face in his hands, and I felt his fear that he'd likely just lost his new job. Dean still had a death grip on my leg, and I knew he wanted me to make an example of Ross. I had already formed some tentative plans for what I'd do; this just cemented them. "That's somewhat of an archaic, misogynistic, and heteronormative question. Dean and I are equals in everything. And to be honest, what we do in the bedroom is none of your business." "I was just curious, no need to get all bent out of shape. We're all in the community, right? But I guess that answers my other question on whether or not you guys are in an open relationship." Ross seemed oblivious to the impact of his questions or comments. "Oh, I assure you we're much more complex than that. We don't follow what I'd call the traditional concept of an open relationship but do enjoy bringing home a treat now and again to share." I looked at Drake and smiled, letting my power wrap around him while I whispered into his mind. 'Like you.' Drake's eyes went wide, and his heart rate spiked. Not only was he somewhat thrilled with the idea he also wondered if that might mean he still had the job. "I think as you get settled, you'll find that Bacchus Springs is not your typical small town. We are extremely LGBTQ welcoming, and you won't have issues with public displays of affection, though I do recommend keeping it PG. I'm not sure what your employment situation is, Ross, but Drake will be pulled into all kinds of activities once he starts working." I heard Drake let out a sigh of relief. "I'm a software developer and was able to keep my job since I work remotely anyway. All I need is electricity and internet, and I'm good to go. It worked out really well for us," Ross explained. "Well, not to worry, once you're moved in and somewhat settled we'll make sure you have lots of opportunities to meet people and get involved in the community. I'll warn you though, just like most small towns, everyone will know you and your business. Fortunately, here, they are very accepting." "We can drink to that," Drake said, raising his wine glass. I could feel that Ross was primed for several more questions or comments, but Drake must have done something I missed to shut him down. I felt a little bad for him, he was such a vibrant man, and I had to think that Ross was holding him back. No matter, I'd get it all sorted out. The love was there, so I just needed to do some fine tuning on Ross. I was already thinking of ways to make his initiation special. This whole dedicated top thing had to go. I thought Drake deserved more. Fortunately, the conversation turned to more neutral territory, and Dean and Drake found some common interests, which helped everything calm. While we waited for dessert, Ross excused himself to go to the restroom. "Can you point me in the right direction?" Ross asked. I folded my napkin and stood. "Better yet, I'll show you." I was pleased when we entered the men's room, and no one else was there. I still planned on waiting to make any serious changes, but I needed to do something with Ross. I watched as he stepped up to the urinal and smirked as the idea hit me. "Hey, what?" Ross said as I moved up behind him, reaching around and grabbing his dick. "Shhhh," I whispered as I drank in his lust and slipped into his head. "No need to hide it, Ross. I know how badly you want me. Won't be long until I invite you home with me. You'd like to join Dean and me, wouldn't you? Of course you would." I fed the lust back into him, not making changes but planting some ideas and images where they'd keep coming back to him. I pressed my dick against his ass and rubbed against him while he finished his business. I shook him off and gave a couple of strokes. "Until then, you can dream about it." I stepped back and made sure he was steady on his feet before I washed my hands. When I looked back over, he still had both hands on the wall propping himself up and hadn't moved. "You're serious, right?" Ross asked without looking at me. "Very. I know you're worried that you won't have the opportunities you're used to, moving to a small town. But I promise you'll find more than enough excitement here to satisfy you." He turned, and his eyes were dark with lust. "Don't worry, Ross, you and Drake are going to love it here." In my head, I gave an evil 'muah ha ha' laugh thinking about what was in store for Mr. Ross Bailey-Parks. Oh, he'd be satisfied all right, just not in the way he was thinking. >>END CHAPTER 21<< Please donate to Nifty!
