The dads are trying desperately to figure out what's going on with Luke, and what to do about it. And they worry he's not the only one, so they decide on a drastic plan of action to make up for a decision they all made early on... thanks to Matteo's suggestion. The boys are pretty sure that they've all lost their minds.

Day 21 After Meeting The Boys

Worried Dads

All the boys are up a little early today. It seems like none of them slept very well or are in a good mood. Aiden and crew are already working on breakfast, although even they look a little down too.

The boys get juice or milk or whatever they want to drink and just go outside until breakfast is ready. Nobody's even talking all that much, which is a huge change from normal.

As the adults start showing up it's quickly obvious that something is wrong. It surprises them because they were all doing fine yesterday and when they went to bed.

The adults just kinda sit around and look at each other and the boys. They try to get a few interested in talking, but none of them seem very willing.

When breakfast is ready they all go to get their breakfast. The adults always let the boys go first... too many forks and knives. The boys all eventually get their food and come back out.

The adults go in to fill their plates after none of the boys are in the kitchen. Kevin says to all of them, "Guys, we have a problem... and thank you Matteo, for helping us figure it out... we think we know what the problem is, at least with Luke, but we don't have a clue what to do about it yet.

Kevin explains a little about what they think is going on with Luke. They don't want to invade his privacy, but they don't know how else to do it, and Kevin totally admits he's not sure about the other boys.

As soon as he finishes Michael adds, "I was going to tell you today, but Luke had a really hard time last night... wanting to know basically why you won't... have sex with them. He sobbed himself to sleep... it broke my heart so bad Alex," to which Alex, Kevin and Matteo just look sadly at each other.

Kevin explains, "Matteo pointed out last night that Luke may be looking for intimacy with us... and not necessarily sex. We know he sure as hell didn't get any intimacy from his 'sperm donor'... as Luke calls him.

"And thank you so much Matteo... we know it was hard for you to say what you did, but we appreciate it more than we can say.

We were so afraid they'd be freaked out by having two gay men as dads... we really have kinda avoided any kind of intimacy with them... other than an occasional hug or shoulder rub.

We've got to say something to them. I was thinking about trying to broach the subject... some damn way... after breakfast," waiting to see what the others say.

Ken and crew just look at each other and say they'll gather up their boys to give them some privacy. Kevin tells him they're welcome to stay... and he has no idea how their boys feel. Ken says he doesn't either... and that he doesn't have a clue why they're all so down today either.

They discuss it a bit longer and go outside to eat.

As soon as they sit down Luke says cheerily, "Uhhh Ohhh... looks like the old folks are planning something," which gets a nervous laugh from all the boys, including Luke.

Kevin figures this is as good a time as any to start so he says, looking directly at Luke, "As you would say, 'Yep'... we were talking about all of you (pointing, which really worries them). We noticed that you're all down today and we're kinda surprised. We thought everybody really enjoyed what we did last night. Can we maybe talk about it a bit after breakfast?" which causes the boys to look at each other nervously... but they eventually all say, 'ok'... without a single detectable shred of enthusiasm.

Nick does want to tell Javier and Matteo, "Guys, we changed the sheets and towels and stuff in our old room yesterday. And we vacuumed... sorry we forgot to tell you. So your room's ready," and he gives Matteo and Javier and big smile.

They both thank him, and it's still a little emotional for them to really be invited to move in with these families.

Kevin uses this as a chance to try to move forward also, "Guys, I'd like for at least our four to go with us... but I hope all of you will go with us and sit down and let's talk about something. It's not bad, but we need to admit to all of you that... we've totally screwed up as dads... at least Alex and I have... and we want to try to fix it, if you'll help us," which gets looks of shock from all of them... they don't have a clue what he's talking about. But they all say they will, even Ken and Jared reluctantly agree.

They sit and finish the quietest meal on record with the boys and nobody even goes back for seconds...

After finishing eating and getting the dishwasher loaded and helping with the kitchen cleanup that was left, they all head for the living room... looking worried.

The adults talked very briefly about how to approach this, and they're pretty sure the boys will think they're totally crazy, but they don't have any idea of how else to do it. The dads all think it's crazy too.

They all go in the living room and sit on the floor with their backs against a chair of some kind. The boys follow them to the floor.

Kevin chuckles and starts, "Guys I'm willing to bet this will be the craziest thing we've ever done with any of you... (which gets a really worried look from all the boys).

"I've said part of this before, but when Alex, Michael and I decided to try to adopt sons... we were terrified that you would all think that we... want to... do things with you guys... like Luke and Steve were worried about... before we met (which gets a sad look from them).

"To our boys, we can never do that... please understand that it would honestly kill us to ever do that with you... well, us dads anyway, that doesn't apply to the 'big brothers'. We just can't do that guys," which already has Luke looking even unhappier.

Ken adds the same thing, saying, "Guys, the same for us. No matter how much we love you... and we do, so much it scares us. Guys... we're your dads, and we can never have sex with any of you... so you don't need to worry about that.

"We would hate ourselves if we ever did anything like that with any of you... Michael, Corey, Matteo and Javier... can if they and you want that, because we trust all of them completely... but neither of us can ever do that... please understand it's not because we don't love you," which almost makes Michael, Corey, Javier and Matteo pass out... they're really not sure whether telling the boys that they can all have sex with them is great or terrible.

Alex asks Luke to come over to him, which he reluctantly does. He spreads his legs and asks Luke to get on his knees facing him. Luke does and Alex leans forward like he's going to kiss him, but stops and asks, "Cheek or lips, you decide," and Luke learns forward and kisses him on his lips... and wraps his arms around him, pulls him tight and holds their kiss for a very long time.

When he pulls back, Alex sees tears running all the way down his face. He wipes away Luke's tears and hugs him tighter than he's ever dared to hug him, and asks him to sit on the floor in front of him and spreads his legs further so he can sit between them... even though they're both naked.

Alex says, "Guys, this would be a lot less weird if we all had clothes on. We even talked about wearing at least shorts for this, but figured that would just draw attention to the fact that we're not treating you guys like the adults all treat each other, so we didn't put on shorts.

"If it freaks you out to sit with us like this... we don't have to, or we'll gladly go put on shorts and a shirt," but nobody wants them to do that, probably figuring they'd eventually have to stop being naked too.

Alex wraps his arms around Luke, who just leans back into him and lays his head on his chest... and actually looks a bit happier, except for all the tears.

He says, "Luke and all of you guys. I'm so sorry for being afraid to be affectionate with you like this. All of you. Like Kevin said, we were terrified that you'd hate us if we were too touchy feely with you guys.

"And we finally, thanks to Matteo (giving him a smile), realize that we probably hurt you by doing that... a lot... us too," he just pulls Luke tight to him and and leans forward enough and gives him another loving kiss... on the lips... chaste... but loving, which gets a little smile from him.

Kevin says, "Sons, it was never our intention to make any of you think we don't love you, or don't want physical contact with you... we love you all... so much, but we were afraid to show you. So... guys.. we're thinking that if you're ok with it, we're going to try to be a lot less scared to do something like this... if it freaks you out, please say so, and we won't do this... but if it doesn't, please help us get over our own hangups... please come on over and pick a spot... guys, and we're so sorry if we hurt you.

"We didn't even realize it... oh, and don't be freaked out if we get boners... the big head knows nothing will ever happen between us and you, but the little one has a very tiny little brain of his own that only thinks about one thing," and the boys laugh nervously at that, and just sit and wonder why their dads have all gone crazy.

Steve looks over and sees Luke leaned back against dad Alex, his arms wrapped tightly around him, with tears running down his face... and he gets it. He comes over and can't decide where to sit... he says, "There's not enough places for all of us," which gets a little laugh.

Kevin says, "It's ok... just pick a place and have a seat. If you don't hate this, there'll be other chances to do it again. If there's not enough room, we'll double up," which gets a little chuckle.

Steve goes and kisses Luke first and wipes tears from his face, then kisses Alex on the lips, and then Kevin on the lips, and smiles and says, "It's not fair for Luke and me to take both dads... I'll sit over here, so Daniel or Diego can have you," and goes and kisses Javier on the lips and sits between his legs, who immediately wraps his arms around him and pulls him into him and kisses him again.

Steve figures Aiden will want to sit with Matteo because of the music, and they've spent a lot more time with Michael and Corey than the other boys have. And, Steve really likes Javier and Matteo.

Daniel and Diego look at each other... Daniel goes over and kisses Alex and Kevin on the lips, and says he'll sit with Michael so Diego can sit with dad Kevin.

Diego comes over and kisses both dads tentatively on the lips and sits down in front of Kevin, with his face already full of tears. The boys that have dared to come over are just sitting and enjoying their dads or big brothers hugging them and pulling them against them. Most of them are pulling the arms holding them even tighter around them.

The other boys look like they want to... but are afraid to do it.

Ken to his credit finds his voice, "Guys, we screwed up with you guys way more than these guys did, and we're so sorry. Like Kevin said, we... I've... always been afraid it would freak you out if I got too close to you, especially now that we're all naked so much... (which gets a chuckle) but that's not fair to you. If you want us to put on clothes first... we will. So, I'm sure you think we're all crazy, but if not... come on over," they look at each other and then start coming over... even giving a tentative kiss on the lips like the others did.

Aiden comes over first and kisses both his dads, explains that he'll sit with the dads next time to be fair, and then kisses and sits down in front of Matteo, who wraps his arms tightly around him.

Kurt does the same with Ken, Sam with Corey, and Nick with Jared.

Most of the boys have red eyes... pretty much all the adults do.

Kevin says shakily, "Guys, we were lying in bed with Matteo last night (which gets chuckles)... just talking... but after what Matteo had already said... it was so obvious that we were treating you very differently than we treat... any of the adults here. And we promised you we would never do that. We're so, so sorry guys... please forgive us, and help us get better."

Kevin continues, "Alex, Michael and I have a lot of nights when we sleep together but don't have sex at all... we just enjoy lying in bed and touching each other, talking with each other, just like we did last night with Matteo... we just laid together and talked and got to know each other better. It's a great way to just be with someone you love, and I'm willing to bet all of you do that with your boyfriends... just lie together and talk.

"Guys, please help us know what you're comfortable with... and what you're not. And, please don't freak out, but if any of you ever want to sleep with us at night... honestly we'd love that... but we figured you'd hate the thought of sleeping with your dads at your age, so we never dared to mention it... If you want to, we really would love that. So, any of you are welcome to join us... check with us first... just in case, we won't all fit at the same time (which gets a good laugh, and gets the boys hugged tighter).

They all sit and honestly are more freaked out than they've ever been, but gradually, as they find things to talk about... other than being poked, which does at least get a few big laughs... and a few adjustments.

At one point Luke reaches down, takes Alex firmly in hand and adjusts him... who squeaks... loud... and everybody laughs nervously, especially after Luke says, "Sorry... I needed to move that big thing... or sit on it, and you... said... I can't ever do that," as tears run down his face, and every tear is kinda like a big knife in Alex's heart.

It doesn't help when Luke leans in, kisses him for a good while on the lips again... and says into his ear, "I love you so much."

It's chaste, but Alex is sure he felt Luke's tongue on his lips. It takes Alex a bit to recover. Partly because he almost opened his mouth and actually kissed him back... Alex wants to do that so bad, and not doing it... hurts him too, and he knows it hurt Luke even more.

Eventually they discover that it really is nice just sitting and being held by somebody they love so much. It doesn't take long to feel safe and secure instead of totally freaked out.

Most of the boys kinda curl up against the person holding them and enjoy it, some turning somewhat sideways so they can see their face better to talk to them, and maybe kiss occasionally... but never moving away.

And they find a lot to talk about.

They talk about Aiden's singing, and Aiden admits he's a little down and tells them what he told Daniel and Diego last night about singing to his grandmother... at least in his mind. He also says that he talked with Daniel and Diego and thinks he'd like to try singing with the group... at least a couple times. Daniel and Diego make it clear they totally support him, whatever he decides.

Matteo and Aiden talk a little about what he wants to practice.

Sam asks Matteo a couple questions about his piano lessons, even though they're not sitting with each other.

Nick thanks his dads and Corey for being so amazing about... everything.

Michael decides this is as good a time as any to bring up what Ken asked him about being a flight attendant some, "Guys I'd like to ask all of you a question. If any one of you says 'no' I won't do it, ok?" which gets confused looks but they all say they understand.

Michael says, "Ken has asked me to be a flight attendant for him when he flies, at least some of the time. I'll be honest... I'd kinda like to do it. It would help Ken out, and make it a lot easier for him than flying with somebody he doesn't know... and especially having to spend so much time alone in some hotel room.

"It would also be nice to have something to do occasionally... probably a few times each month. I don't want to work full-time, that would take me away from all of you too much.

"With Javier, Matteo and Corey here, there's more than enough to help out some if I'm away for a couple days... assuming it's ok with you guys (looking at Javier and Matteo, who say of course it's ok).

"Would me doing that some be ok with all of you... and if not, please be honest. I don't want to do anything to ever hurt any of you guys," they sit and look at each other for a while.

Luke sits and looks... a bit shocked, but finally smiles and says, "As long as we get to sleep with you and Corey some when you're here... and maybe some with Corey when you're not. And when you're not here, you others better watch out... including the dads!" which gets a good laugh, although from the dads it's a pretty nervous laugh.

Michael leans over far enough to kiss Luke... definitely not chaste... obviously not missed by Alex.

Aiden turns all the way around on Matteo, kinda straddling him and his erection, and says, "Does that mean we might get to sleep with you guys too?" which surprises the crap out of him.

While they're just sitting there and afraid to answer, Jared speaks up, "Guys, I'll be honest... we were... shocked... honestly... and a little freaked out when Alex and Kevin let Luke and Steve sleep with Corey and Michael... but... we've thought about that... a lot, and we know you're all healthy gay boys (which gets a good laugh) and heaven help us all, you're only going to get hornier," which gets chuckles and groans from them.

"We know it would be totally unfair and hypocritical for us to say you can't have sex, and you'd just sneak around anyway... like Luke told these guys (pointing to Kevin,Alex and Michael) at the amusement park that day (laughs). So guys, we have no problem with it on a couple conditions...

"In the first place, it's totally up to them... if they want to or not... they can certainly say 'no'... but even if they say 'yes'... please remember sons, they all have their own lives and relationships. So please don't assume they're your personal playthings... Ok?" which gets a good laugh...

"And guys, these four (pointing to Corey, Michael, Javier and Matteo) aren't as young as you, so they might need a lot more nights off than you, so please don't wear them out," which gets big laughs from the boys and protests from the four 'old ones'...

The four 'old ones' can't decide whether to laugh or be really annoyed at being called old, and are very worried about being offered out for stud service for eight horny preteens... or more excited than ever. It could go either way.

Nick, to everybody's surprise, decides to ask, being afraid of the answer, looking directly at the four old ones, "Guys... does that mean... we might be able to... uhhh... maybe... uhhh... actually... uhhh... in the shower..." making it pretty obvious he's having trouble actually saying it.

The four old ones look at each other and Corey blushes bigger than he ever has, but finally smiles big and says, "Yes... at least for me. We've all talked about it, and we know it's going to eventually happen... but we decided it's up to you guys... to make it happen... not us," which gets huge smiles on eight faces... and a few unhappy looks on the faces of four dads... and excuted horny worried faces on four older brothers.

The dads look like they just bit into something really sour, which doesn't go unnoticed by some of the boys... but none of the dads change their minds about not doing the same thing with the boys. Yet.

They sit and talk about anything and everything anybody wants to talk about.

Luke, being Luke, smiles at the dads and says to Daniel and Diego, "You guys want to sleep with dads tonight or us? Either way is fine with us... if it's ok with you, dads," which gets big eyes from Daniel and Diego, and the dads say that would be great.

Daniel looks at Diego who nods and says, "You can tonight, but dads... we'd like to also, if that's ok. And thank you. It's really nice being held again... it's been a long time," and leans against dad Kevin, hugs him and sheds a couple tears, which takes a few moments for both of them to recover.

After everybody mostly recovers, Luke with a big smile asks, "Do we have to wear anything?"

Kevin, Alex and Matteo laugh big and Kevin says, "I bet Alex and Matteo last night that would be your first question (which causes everybody to laugh... and Luke to blush). Ok... very good... so what do you think my answer will be?" which causes Luke to furrow his brow for a bit...

He eventually smiles big and says, "Well... we understand we can't have sex with you... at all (with his smile now gone and his frown back)... but since we don't any other time... I think you'll say 'you decide'," which gets a good laugh.

Kevin says, "As you would say, 'Yep'," which gets a big laugh and Luke leans over far enough to kiss dad Kevin on the lips... for a while.

Kevin adds, "But if you want us to, we'll wear shorts or something... just please don't say 'pajamas'," to which they all laugh and say 'NO!'.

They sit and talk for probably thirty more minutes, in various positions... and end up enjoying it a lot more than they thought they would when it started.

Aiden eventually asks, "Dads, when Daniel and Diego sleep with their dads... can I... uhh... maybe sleep with you. I'd like that dads," which gets him a big hug from Matteo...

Ken says, "To quote Luke, 'Yep', and in fact if you ever want to, it'll be crowded but I imagine all three of you'll fit... (and looking at Sam, Kurt and Nick) you guys too... And guys, are you really ok with this? You don't ever have to do this. We really don't ever want to do anything that makes you uncomfortable... or totally freaks you out," which gets a few nervous chuckles along with a few protests.

Kurt just turns around completely, straddles Ken's erection, which doesn't worry Ken at all... yeah right... in fact all the adults seem to be holding their breath, and kisses Ken on the lips for a while and says, "We love you dads and Corey... and everybody... thank you. I haven't been held like this... since my parents died in a car wreck... And my dad would never do something like this... Daniel's right... I forgot how nice it feels," and just hugs him, puts his head on his chest and tears up a bit.

They sit and talk quietly with each other for a while, and eventually dad Kevin asks, "Guys, you all looked a little down today. Is everything ok?"

Nick volunteers, "The three of us talked some last night... about us being together... we're afraid you're not really ok with it. Sorry. We hope it's really not a problem, but we weren't sure."

Both of their dads assure them that they have absolutely no problem with them being together. Ken laughs and says, "Nick... guys... you know about our relationship with Corey, so we'd be total hypocrites to have a problem with the three of you. And guys, it'll take some time to figure things about... but don't worry about all the details right now. Just enjoy each other," which gets him another big hug.

Aiden looks sad and admits, "It was harder than I thought... singing again. I hadn't sung anything since my grandmother died... until the other night. I really enjoyed it... especially singing with Matteo (looking up at him, who hugs and kisses him), but it was a little sad too."

Luke looks at dad Kevin and dad Alex and says, "Dads... thank you. I guess I was feeling... I don't know... left out... or jealous I guess. It just seemed like you hugged and kissed... and slept with everybody... except us. I know you love us as much as we love you... but it still hurts," which causes Alex to tear up. He leans down and kisses Luke on the lips... almost chaste... but not just for a half second either.

Alex clears his throat and says, "Son, I'm so sorry my own hangups about being a gay dad got in the way... I'll tell you something I only admitted to Matteo last night...

"Luke... that day when we talked about the extra margarita... I asked you to come over and sit on my lap... because there wasn't a seat beside me. Luke... I enjoyed that so much. I just loved you sitting there and I wrapped my arms around you and you laid back against me... I really did... feel completely, totally like your dad doing that. I was just afraid you'd hate me if I did it too much," and just sits and hugs Luke tight for a while.

Luke gets up and turns around and straddles his lap and hugs him for a long time. He realizes he's poking him in the chest and looks down, laughs and says 'sorry', which gets laughs.

Finally he kisses him and says, "I really loved that too dad... so much. And like you all tell us... I'll never hate you... ever. And you're the only dads and big brothers (looking at Michael, Corey, Javier and Matteo) I've ever had or wanted. I love you so all much..." and then just hugs him with tears.

Steve has been sitting and watching with red eyes also. He looks up at Javier and kisses him briefly and says, "Dads... Michael... Corey... Javier... oh crap... everybody," which gets a big laugh. "I've finally admitted to myself that I'm honestly happier here... than I was even with my parents... certainly being with Luke... and all of you.

"I used to feel really guilty even thinking that. My father was a terrible bigot. He would have totally hated me if he ever found out I was gay... my mom was much better... and I really miss my little sister... but I love you all, and I love being here... more," and then can't continue. Javier just holds him and lets him cry a bit too.

After they recover, they just sit and talk and make smalltalk for a while, about anything and everything.

Before they all get away Kevin decides to say a couple things, "Guys, first I want to thank our breakfast crew... again. Guys, we really DO appreciate all your work... and your breakfasts... you do an incredible job, but we don't want you to feel like you always have to do that. If you get tired of it I'm sure us dads and big brothers can come up with something... that won't kill anybody," which gets a lot of laughs and loud pleas for their brothers to NEVER stop cooking.

The dads and big brothers look a little insulted, except they're laughing as much as the boys.

Aiden laughs and says, "As long as Matteo helps naked... I'm never quitting," which shocks his dads... but they all laugh. He turns around and gives Matteo a pretty serious kiss, definitely not on the cheek... or chaste, which doesn't help anybody not have a boner.

Sam speaks up and says, "Dads... we've all talked about it, and we all want to learn to cook. We really like it when we've done that together. It's a lot of fun together... and it's a great excuse to practice our Spanish," which gets several other brothers agreeing. Javier and Matteo too.

Luke's Betrayed

Steve thinks for a second, knowing that if he does this... it could go very badly, but asks anyway, "Please, everybody... stay here for a second. I need to get something," and runs down the hall to their bedroom, leaving all the adults staring after him.

As soon as Luke see's him coming back he blushes a lot and starts to object... which Steve ignores and sticks out his tongue at him, which gets a big laugh.

Steve starts, "Dads... everybody... you know, I'm just going to say 'everybody' from now on... that takes way too much time... so, everybody. When you asked us what we liked to do... piano, singing... and stuff... Luke didn't say anything, but I'd like to show you what he likes to do... and is really good at, since he won't.

He puts everything he brought back on the floor, then he lifts a very nice looking piece of painted and glazed pottery and says, "At the group home we had a lady who was teaching us to make pottery. Luke made this one and painted it. Luke used to make a lot of small figurines that she would sell in her shop in town. They were kinda like the ones we saw at that booth last night... but not quite so... gay," which gets laughs.

"She would split what she got with Luke, and she said they were her most popular items... That's how Luke got the money for our rings (holding up his hand, and Luke reluctantly does the same... after Steve glares at him a bit)," which surprises everybody.

Steve continues, "This drawing and this painting are both something Luke did... the drawing is of my little sister. He did that from one old photo of her that I have. Luke made her look older than she was in the picture I had... and he's exactly right. It's exactly how she looked... right before... " and he tears up and wipes his eyes with the back of his hand and sniffles, and doesn't continue for a bit.

He lifts a bigger painting showing a big green meadow with a big tree and somebody sitting under it, "Luke painted this of me sitting under our favorite tree. We used to go there and lie out and watch the clouds and the birds... and wonder if we'd ever find a family... or be able to be together (stops to wipe his eyes again)... and even a few times at night, although they really didn't like us being in the boat at night... the stars were so amazing.

"We had to row a boat across a small lake... We took Diego and Daniel with us a couple times (which gets big smiles from them). This is the first place we kissed... I was in really bad shape when I came to the group home and was put in a room with Luke... he never did anything with me except hold me, and sleep with me fully clothed... for weeks.

"One day we rowed over to our tree and Luke took a painting set and drawing pad. He said he wanted to paint a picture of me and our favorite tree... this is it. The first time he ever painted anything other than a flower vase... I think (to which reluctantly Luke nods 'yes').

"After he finished, we sat in the grass and he showed me what he had painted... of me... and our tree. It was so amazing... so beautiful. I... I'd been trying for days to figure out how I could tell Luke I loved him... I finally just leaned over and kissed Luke... and told him I loved him," and can't continue. Steve's face is full of tears at this point... as is Luke's.

Luke goes over and hugs him tight... for a very long time. All the boys can relate to their pain... and are silently crying along with them... as are the dads, who all read their background information they received... multiple times, but still can't believe everything that all of the boys have been thru.

Kevin eventually says, "Luke, all of these are very, very good son... we'll help you get both of them framed. Son... why didn't you tell us?"

Luke wipes his eyes, sniffles once and finally says, "Dad, I figured you'd go out and buy a potter's wheel and kiln or something... you've already done too much. I would like to use some of my allowance to maybe buy a sketch pad and a few things... if that's ok," and Kevin comes over and hugs him, and it's hard to tell which one has more tears.

Kevin finally lets go and says, "Luke... all of you guys, you can use your allowance for anything you want, you don't have to ask us... well, maybe not margaritas... (which gets a laugh) How about this... we'll go today and get whatever you want.

"And as for pottery, I think they give pottering... pottery... I don't know the word, but they used to give lessons at the Palm Springs Art Center downtown... which is the same building that the PS Gay Chorus uses for some of their concerts. I'll check on that. Art lessons too...

"But guys... all of you, please tell us if there's something you want to do... please," which gets some mumbling and looking down at the floor.

The boys and others all come over to look at what Steve brought in and everybody is very impressed. They all tell him they look great. A few had noticed it in their room. It wasn't really displayed on a wall or table. The dads actually hadn't even seen them.

Dad Kevin tells Luke, "Son, we can go anytime you want... there's a big art store not far from here... There's also a Hobby Lobby, but they're anti-gay assholes, so I won't go there. But if we can't find what you want in any other store, we can order it from Amazon. I'd much rather give the money to Amazon than those antigay assholes at Hobby Lobby," which surprises the boys since they've never heard dad Kevin say anything like that.

Things move on to other topics, with all the boys still sitting right next to a dad or big brother... and everybody acting like they're very happy.

Nick tells Javier and Matteo, "We'll help you guys move your stuff into your room if you want us too," which gets him and nice hug and kiss from Javier who's closer.

Javier tells him, "Thank you Nick, but we don't really have much stuff here yet. We need to start moving our clothes and stuff over."

Looking at Alex and Kevin Javier asks... hesitantly, "Guys, are you sure about this... we feel like we're wearing out our welcome here.

Alex hugs and kisses Luke, just for the hell of it, and says, "As Luke would say, `Yep we're sure... it's great'," which gets a laugh... even from Luke. "Guys, we're all very, very glad you're here."

Matteo asks Aiden if he wants to practice anything?

Aiden looks at his dads and says, "Dads... I want to ask the man from the chorus what I need to do... about singing with them, if that's ok."

Ken says, "Of course it's ok, son. Do you want us to call, or would you like to call? And anytime is fine, we'll make sure you get there... although we don't know where 'there' is," which gets a chuckle.

Aiden thanks him and says he thinks he should call, and he'll let them know what he says.

Steve wants to tell everybody, "A couple guys asked about printing some pictures... Come find me when you're ready and I'll do that... or show you how, either way. And dads, several of us have a couple pictures we'd like to frame... if we can."

To which Kevin says, "Of course. When we go after Luke's stuff, anybody can come that wants too... and we can also order frames online like the one's we used for the other pictures... and the store has a pretty big selection of frames, so either way. And I think the store can even make custom sized frames."

Before they all get on with their day, Corey looks around the room at all of 'his' brothers... they're almost all sitting on or standing and touching one of their dads, or Michael or Javier or Matteo or him. A few have their arms around one of the dads. And Sam's almost glued to Corey's side. Corey reaches up and messes up his hair. Sam smiles big and leans up and kisses Corey and lays his head against his chest.

He's so happy to see his family this happy. He was sure this family was what they needed... the very first day they met, but it's all worked out so much better than he ever thought it would. He leans over and kisses Michael with all the love he has.

It doesn't escape Michael's attention either how happier all the boys... and dads look.

Alex is standing behind Luke with his arms over his shoulders, holding him back against him... and Luke looks happier than he has in a while, with his arms holding Alex's tighter against him. Alex's dick has basically slid between Luke's legs, but both are afraid to mention it... so they try to ignore it. Luke seems to have a much bigger smile than usual.

Kevin is standing with some of the boys looking at what Luke made... and drew... and painted, with a big smile on his face... and Diego has his arm around dad Kevin.

Steve almost forgot, but says to Matteo, "Let me know what music you want on the iPads and I'll download it," which gets a hug from him.

Singing Again

After everybody kinda goes their own way, Aiden goes to find the card from Rick, the man with the PS Gay Men's Chorus. It's almost 10:30AM by now, so he figures it's an ok time to call.

He dials the number and the other person says, "Hi, this is Rick," and Aiden introduces himself and says he sang with them yesterday.

Rick chuckles and says, "Hi Aiden, I'm glad you called. I certainly remember you, and it's great to talk with you. Have you thought about maybe singing with us?"

Aiden says, "Yes sir. I've talked to my dads and brothers... and I'd like to try out... or whatever I need to do."

Rick chuckles and says, "Aiden, I think we can consider what you did yesterday as your tryout... and you nailed it, trust me. What we usually ask people to do is come prepared to sing a couple songs... two or three, so the director can see what kind of range you have. Do you have somebody who you want to play piano for you when you sing? If not, our piano player, Larry, can play for you... but a lot of people prefer to sing the first time with somebody they know."

Aiden gets a big smile and says, "That would be great... Matteo plays great and we're practicing together... but I don't want to hurt Larry's feelings."

Rick chuckles and says, "Trust me Aiden... it's not a problem. A lot of guys do that. Do you have a couple songs you like to sing?"

Aiden thinks for a bit and says, "I have a couple I sang in our school group, and a couple more I really like but never sang with a group, if that's ok. I can give you a list and somebody can pick which ones they want to hear. Matteo and I did some of them for our dads and brothers the other night... I'll ask them to help decide," which gets a laugh from Rick.

Rick tells him, "Aiden, that's great... we just want to see what kind of range you have, and if you're OK singing in front of people, although after you sang at the street fair, I don't think you'll have a problem with that either (gets chuckles). And we encourage everybody to sing something they know and like and are comfortable with."

Aiden asks him where and when... and wants to know if a couple of his family can come with him, and Rick tells him where and when, and tells him he can bring his entire family if he wants... there's plenty of room in the auditorium they practice in.

As one last thing Rick asks, "Aiden, I'm surprised your dads didn't call," since he's pretty young.

Aiden just chuckles and says, "They asked if I wanted them to call, but I thought I should. Our dads always encourage us to do anything we want to do... but they always help us with anything we need. Is that ok?" to which Rick says it's great, and is pretty damn impressed with this young man... and his dads.

Turns out the next practice is tomorrow, Saturday afternoon, and Rick says they'll have him sing before they practice, which doesn't give him much time to practice, but since he knows the songs already, Aiden thinks it'll be ok if Matteo can help him practice.

They chat for a few minutes and Aiden thanks him and tells him he'll be there unless something comes up, but if it does he'll let him know.

They both end the call pretty happy.

Life Goes On

Aiden first goes to tell his dads and Daniel and Diego what Rick said. They all think that sounds good, although the dads are still a little freaked out about their twelve year old son being quite so public with a gay group, but they know they can't ask him not to do it.

Daniel and Diego couldn't be happier for him, and none of the other brothers have any problem with it either apparently... which makes the dads all feel even older than they are. Maybe it's just a 'generational thing'.

Aiden then goes to find Matteo and tells him what the guy said. They discuss the names of the songs for a bit, and says he's played two of the three before. He also says he'll be available to go with him... he's not working at the car dealership this weekend. Steve is with him and says he'll find and download the music... he'll need about 30 minutes or so to do that.

They all go off to do their own thing.

Kevin finds Luke and asks when he wants to go shopping, and Luke says after lunch would be best. It's getting kinda close to lunch... and eating always comes first.

The three other older brothers offer to do lunch, since they figure Aiden and Matteo want to work on his songs.

A little later as they're all doing various things they hear Matteo playing the piano. They go look and see that the big wooden sliding doors to the sunroom are closed. They can still hear the piano, but it's not as loud or clear. Aiden's not singing... they figure Matteo must be practicing playing something.

Turns out Steve had downloaded the songs Aiden wants to sing and Matteo's practicing a couple songs that he hasn't played before. They all think it sounds great. They eventually hear him playing other songs and Aiden singing some of them. That goes on for at least 30 minutes or so and then lunch becomes more important.

Lunch

The older brothers put out lunch and tell everybody it's ready.

Aiden's embarrassed but tells everybody he's going tomorrow at 2PM to sing with the chorus, and says everybody can go... if they want to. Everybody does.

Matteo tells Aiden, "We can practice all afternoon if you want... I don't have to work today. I've played the new songs a couple times... I think it's ok for us to practice...

They have a usual lunch... about six different conversations going on, and a good bit in halting fumbling Spanish, including all the 'old farts'.

At one point all of the dads just look at each other. They realize they've all been sitting and just watching their sons... and their familes. Everybody seems to be back to being their normal happy selves.

And that's an important point to these dads and boys. Even though all of these boys... and adults, have some very emotional moments, the overwhelming feeling around here is happiness at their new lives and families. They don't sit around depressed and they don't want that to ever change.

Nick stands up and reminds Javier and Matteo that, "el cuarto' (the room) is ready," part English and part Spanish, and they'll help move their stuff if they need help. Spanglish at its best.

Javier and Matteo hug Nick, Sam and Kurt and thank them and tell them they can move everything. They ask Sam if he'll help them hang the pictures Kevin gave them... they'd already asked Alex about putting them on the wall. Alex's only comment was, "They're your walls." And Sam is very happy to be asked.

Matteo is working with Aiden on practicing 'singing' words in Spanish, just different terms that might come up when singing, mostly just to introduce a few new words... and also to help take Aiden's mind off of being nervous, although as quiet as he used to be, Aiden really doesn't seem to be very nervous about singing. Matteo is pretty sure he's more nervous about playing piano for the tryout.

They finish lunch and everybody helps with cleanup.

Aiden and Matteo go back to work on his playing and Aiden's singing.

Kevin, Luke, Diego and Sam get dressed to go art supply and picture frame shopping.

Corey and Steve both say they'll stay and help a couple guys print a few pictures to frame when they get back...

Michael and Corey also help Javier start moving their clothes and stuff... but they don't have a lot of stuff here yet. They say they'll start getting stuff out of their current apartment and the other two say they'll help when they're ready to start moving things.

Never Hobby Lobby

The shoppers go to the biggest local art/hobby supply place in Palm Springs... not Hobby Lobby. They spend a lot of time looking around and shopping and find everything they want, and have a pretty good time.

The boys have never shown any interest in spending any money, and the dads know they haven't spent a penny of their allowances... of course, they'll have to leave the pool to actually spend any money.

Kevin gets a shopping cart and has the boys put everything in, and they immediately object. They figure he's going to pay for everything... he just tells them that the guys interested in piano lessons don't have to pay for the piano... and asks them to please let him pay for some things for them. They more or less agree.

They start by looking at picture frames, but Sam decides to look online for picture frames instead. Although the store has plenty, Sam wants some to match what dad Kevin and dad Alex had ordered for the pictures that he helped get on the wall.

After that they wander over to the art supplies. Kevin says he wants to pay, but Luke especially objects. Kevin pleads with him a bit and he finally gives in... mostly.

Kevin finally persuades him to get everything he wants, including some watercolors, oil paints, a couple actual canvases, drawing pencils and brushes and a few other items.

Dad Kevin tries to get him to get an easel to put his canvases on, but he won't. He says he'll just prop them up. Kevin figures he'll try again later... although it totally breaks his heart so see the boys so worried about what everything costs... especially Luke. And especially seeing how excited Luke is at being here and talking about drawing and painting again.

A couple other boys buy a few things, including a drawing pad that Nick asked about... nobody knows why.

They leave with enough stuff to keep Luke and the others happy for a while.

By the time they get home they can hear Aiden singing along with Matteo... The doors to the sunroom are still closed and all the boys break out laughing as soon as they figure out what he's singing... holding their hands over their mouths so Aiden won't hear them laughing.

They decide those songs will work great for a gay chorus. It sounds great, and they think two of the songs Aiden is singing are really funny and are surprised he'd pick those... including his dads, who laugh despite their concerns about him singing with a gay chorus.

Alex goes with Kevin and some of the boys and they wander down to find Javier arranging things in their new room. They all just go over and take turns hugging him... and a few kisses help too... why not?

He tells them, "Guys, you don't know how much this means to us... to invite us into your home like this..." Alex just hugs him for a while.

Alex tells him, "Javier... this is your home too... for as long as you want it... if you'll let it be. We really want both of you here," which doesn't help the moment of red eyes, but eventually, after a very long hug, and a deep sigh, he's able to just say 'thank you'.

Alex continues, "And guys, we don't know how much of your own furniture you have... but if we need to get some of this out, let us know. And you may want another chair or two in here, or a desk... whatever you need, just let us know please," and he thanks them. One fortunate thing about older houses, they have bigger bedrooms. There're actually decently large.

Javier eventually says, "Alex, we don't have a lot of stuff. What we do have is pretty old... we'll probably donate it to Revivals* or somebody... if they'll take it. The biggest thing is the bed and the one here is way better than ours."

(*Revivals is a large Second Hand Store that's run by Desert AIDS project. It's been around since the mid 1990s, and they've even expanded to other local cities. They also provide various levels of health care, especially for HIV patients... but not exclusively. It's the 'go to' place for HIV tests. It's very widely supported by the communities at large, not just LGBTQ+ folk. We have personally donated lots of stuff to them, like lots of other people:

Established in 1995. Since those early days, the profits earned through the reselling of donated, preloved goods at Revivals have supported the entire array of programs and services at DAP Health.)

The dads tell them that they'll use the SUVs to help them move anytime they want, and rent a truck if they need it... either to bring stuff here or take it for donation, although Revivals will also pick up big stuff.

That reminds Alex. After Luke's comment about them all sleeping together and how crowded the bed was, Alex announces to the boys there, "Guys, maybe Sam can help you all pick out new, bigger beds if you want. And we want to get desks for each room too. Let us know and we'll help you measure the room, but I think they're all big enough for at least a California King bed... A regular King bed is wider, but not as long... but if it'll fit, you guys decide which you'd rather have... please tell your other brothers too."

Some of the other boys are in the pool, although it sounds like a couple are in the office... probably printing pictures... which reminds Alex he better talk to them and order some more photo paper. He's not sure what type or sizes they want... or how much they have.

They've told the boys they can each have one-half margarita per day, so the boys don't have to wait for them to tell them every time. And they've loosened up a tiny bit with giving them a half glass of wine occasionally... but not often. They're still too young to be getting very much alcohol... probably any.

After the boys finish in the office, Kevin uses the quiet time to sneak in to do something.

He prints off a couple pages of courses that are offered at the Desert Art Center to give to Luke. The auditorium part of the building is where the PSGMC is practicing tomorrow, so he's thinking they'll run in to the center so Luke and anybody else who's interested can see what they offer.

Aiden and Matteo come out about 4PM and decide they want something to drink before continuing. They start with water and then go claim their margarita... or half in Aiden's case.

But they also ask the dads if they can invite all the guys in later if anybody wants to listen. They of course say that would be great, and say maybe after dinner would be best.

The three older brothers not involved with singing or piano playing get dinner ready, with a huge assist from Daniel and Diego... the adults are really happy, and a littler worried, for Aiden being so good at singing, but figure the boys are going to start complaining if Aiden, Daniel and Diego stop cooking completely.

They do a grilled dinner with some sides, and Daniel and Diego actually do most everything except the grilling... which Luke is actually in charge of... with his ass-less apron. They call everybody for dinner and everybody seems to enjoy it just fine...

After everybody kinda gets enough to eat, the dads decide to tell them about a few things going on.

Dad Ken says Aiden has a surprise for them, which causes him to blush.

He stands up and says, "Guys... You may already be tired of this, but Matteo and I are going to practice what I'm singing tomorrow... and if you want to, come in and listen... but if you're tired of it... I understand and it's no problem," to which they all object and say they'd love to hear him.

None of them tell him they heard him a little bit already, and they all really want to hear it without doors in the way. They decide 7PM will work great.

Dad Kevin also has a surprise too, "Guys... the place where Matteo and Aiden are... playing and singing tomorrow is in the same building as the Desert Art Center. The back part is an auditorium that the chorus uses sometimes for practice and shows. The front part is an art studio and they offer lots of classes.

"I printed off a list of some of the classes that they offer, but there are a lot more... if anybody is interested. I thought we can go thru there tomorrow, either before or after Aiden and Matteo do their thing," and hands it to Luke.

Luke looks down at it and gets a huge smile on his face... he starts reading off some of the things:

- DRAWING BASICS - provides a wonderful grounding in the fundamentals of drawing, with emphasis on form, perspective, light and shadow

- WATERCOLOR - welcomes beginners as well as those wishing to improve their watercolor techniques

- OIL PAINTING

- HANDBUILDING AND CERAMICS - You will be shown basic to advanced techniques in slab building and 3 dimensional clay modeling, as well as the use of different clays

- WHEEL CERAMICS - Learn the process of clay throwing on the wheel through trimming, glazing, firing

Luke looks up and he has a huge smile. He just puts the paper down and comes over and hugs the crap out of dad Kevin... and kisses him pretty good on the lips... chaste... we think. Either way, dad Kevin looks like he's gonna pass out.

He says, "Dads, really... can I take some of these? I'll pay with my allowance. Please?" which makes the dads both happy and sad at the same time.

Dad Kevin hugs him tighter for a second, gives him another quick kiss... on the lips, and says, "Luke... all of you guys... you can take as many as you want, but we're paying for them," which gets an immediate objection from Luke.

This time Kevin's not giving in, "All of you guys... please understand. We give you your allowances for helping out around here, and so you'll have some spending money, just for things you want... not things that you need... and what you do around here is a huge help to all of us... please believe us.

"But sons... all of you... we consider things like this and piano lessons and Spanish lessons... we think of those things as part of your education, even if it's something you really like doing.

"Guys, we promise you that we won't make you pay for your school books with your allowances when school starts... and we don't want you to pay for things like art classes.

"Please guys. Please believe us. We're so happy to do things like this for you... please let us. You have no idea how incredibly happy we are to have all of you here in our lives... and guys, trust us... we knew you wouldn't be cheap before we got you (which at least gets a good laugh... maybe even from Luke too).

"Please guys, let us do some things for you too. Please?" which still gets some objection from Luke, but he eventually agrees.

What dad Kevin says, and how emotional he is about it doesn't escape Steve either, who looks over at Corey, who's sitting with a sad smile listening to that.

Steve finally realizes just how much it would hurt his dads if he would refuse to even consider college because the dads have to pay for it... with red eyes he just mouths 'thank you' to Corey, who nods back, also with red eyes... Alex sees this... and is confused.

Aiden and Matteo decide they've done enough rehearsing for now and head for the pool. They're already naked. Luke and Steve and most of the others join them.

Alex and Kevin walk over to Corey, and Alex asks Corey if he can ask what that with Steve was about.

Corey panics a bit and looks at Michael, who he had told what Steve said...

He says reluctantly, "If I tell you I'll have to betray something Steve told me... I will if you insist, but I hope you believe me when I say... it's just something that Steve talked to me about... that would involve you spending money. He said he didn't want to do it because it would be unfair for you to have to pay," which makes both dads look sad. And he certainly doesn't repeat the last part, "for somebody else's kid."

Corey adds, "I told him it would really hurt both of you for him to think that. I think hearing what Kevin said to Luke just now makes him realize how much it would hurt both of you if he refused...

"He just mouthed 'thank you'. And that was a while ago when Steve said that... on our way to LA. I think Steve has changed a lot since then."

Alex and Kevin look sadly at each other. Alex just says, "Thank you, Corey. I won't ask you to betray his trust... and thank you for doing that... it means an awful lot to us," and hugs and kisses him quickly, as does Kevin.

At one point the kitchen crew all get out of the pool and head to prepare dinner, despite the older brothers offering to cook. They cook a simple dinner with a casserole they had prepared earlier and several other dishes, and all the boys actually even eats a few vegetables.

And this time Kurt goes with them to help. All the boys have decided to start learning to cook, but it's too crowded if they all do it together. So, they're going to divide up and somebody help out... most of the time. They figure it'll take longer to learn as much, but they'll all get to do different things along.

Life goes on until the appointed time, then they all head for the sunroom.

Songs From The Heart

The boys and dads all go in and take their seats... except Luke.

Luke, who had planned to get there after his dads, comes in and walks up to Alex and leans forward and kisses him... sweetly.

He asks, "Dad, can we sit together, like this morning... please?" which causes Alex's eyes to redden a bit... he stands up and Luke hugs him maybe tighter than he ever has... and then moves down to the floor and Luke sits down and scoots back between his legs... right against him, which worries him a bit, but hardon be damned, he's going to hug his son.

Alex hugs Luke tight to him and just leans forward and puts his face lovingly against the side of his neck... and inhales his scent... his son's amazing scent... He's never felt so close to the boys ever, and it's very emotional.

All the other boys and dads just stand and watch... with a little envy.

Then all the other boys start going to their partner of the morning, and do the same thing. They're all just sitting and hugging, but this time they're more smiles than red eyes.

The dads+4 never expected that their crazy attempt this morning would even work... and it scared them to death to think that it wouldn't... or worse, totally freak out the boys.

They're sitting around and talking when Matteo and Aiden walk in, wearing nothing but the black bowties, which gets a huge laugh... even if they've seen it before.

And seeing what the others are doing is emotional for them too. Aiden just turns around and hugs and kisses Matteo... it takes a few seconds for everybody to recover, but things eventually get back on track.

Aiden is blushing head to toe, and since he's naked, it's very obvious, despite his Palm Springs tan, but he manages to say, "Hi everybody... I promise I won't drag you in here every time, but since I haven't done this in a while... I'm a lot out of practice singing in front of anybody. Thank you for helping me practice.

"So, they said they want me to sing two or three songs. Most of these are songs I sung before with the school chorus, but... they had a girl sing a couple of them... I think you'll see why when I sing them, but we both (looking up at Matteo, who nods) think it'll be a lot of fun to sing them for a tryout with a gay chorus. We hope," which gets a little laugh, especially since they heard a little of them earlier.

He adds, "We'd love it if you guys will help us pick out three or four songs that you like best," to which they thank him.

Unchained Melody

Aiden says, "You heard this one the other night... sorry, I know it's hard for several of us... if you don't want me to..." But he gets objections from Luke and Steve both, so he agrees to sing it anyway.

Aiden closes his eyes for a moment, which affects Daniel and Diego because they know he's imagining his gran sitting in the room... Aiden then looks at Daniel and Diego and smiles... then looks over to Matteo and nods when he's ready.

And sings it flawlessly, and they think even better than the other night. It doesn't make it any less emotional, especially for Luke, Steve, Daniel and Diego.

They're not quite sure whether to applaud or not... but then the dads do, so they follow their example.

I Will Follow Him

Aiden blushes but continues, "This next song I've only sung as backup... It was written as a religious song and they always insisted a girl sing the lead, but we hope the chorus will think it's... funny to have a guy sing it," He closes his eyes for a few seconds, looks at Matteo and nods.

He comes in at the exact right time and sings his heart out... looking at Daniel and Diego most of the time, which causes them to be pretty emotional too.

When he finishes they all applaud, not even waiting on the dads this time.

Aiden's dads are a little overwhelmed at the moment.

And to hell with waiting, Daniel and Diego go over and kiss the crap out of him.

Aiden introduces the song, "This is another song I've sung as backup chorus... but they'd never let a boy sing it without changing the words... but for a gay chorus, we hope it'll be fun..."

Matteo starts playing and Aiden as usual sings perfectly, singing the chorus' part also since he doesn't have anybody to sing backup.

Everybody howls with laughter when he starts... and applauds like crazy when he finishes.

Everybody can't believe Aiden, quiet shy little Aiden, is going to sing these songs for the tryouts tomorrow... or whatever it is... for a gay chorus.

His dads in particular are on the verge of totally losing it... mostly with laughter, but certainly not entirely.

Aiden says about this song, "I love this song... it's from The Phantom of the Opera, but my voice isn't really deep enough... so please be honest about how it sounds," and looks over at Matteo who starts playing...

Aiden comes in at the perfect spot and sings it beautifully,

Aiden takes a deep breath and says, "I love this song... and I hope you do too. Matteo has really been helping me on this," not wanting to say too much, and smiles really big to Matteo... who starts playing...

Everybody almost falls over when he starts singing, especially the parts in Spanish, and is amazed that he can sing the Spanish as good as he does. And Aiden is really moving around as he sings... They all just sit and listen and look at each other thinking they had no idea he could sing like this. When he finishes they all clap like crazy.

Aiden first goes over and hugs the stuffings out of Matteo... for a very long time and kisses him... definitely not chastely, which makes Matteo almost pass out... and get hard.

Aiden thanks Matteo and tells him that he loves him in Spanish. He turns and sees a lot of smiles...

The effect on Daniel, Diego and Javier is very emotional... he hadn't let them hear this version... or at least had hoped they hadn't heard it thru the doors. He really wanted to see their reactions... and it's... very good.

Javier is the first to say anything, "Aiden, oh my god... that's amazing. I've never even heard that song... you sing it beautifully... I love it," which causes Aiden to blush more than he has in a while. Javier comes over and hugs and kisses him and Matteo too.

Aiden's dads are just sitting here stunned... They finally can speak, "Aiden, I agree with Javier... that's beautiful son... incredible. And I love the Spanish. Wow... are you going to sing that one? I hope you do." and kinda trails off...

All the others pretty much agree and all come over to hug Aiden and Matteo. Daniel and Diego just sit with red eyes. When they all finish hugging him, Aiden goes over to Daniel and Diego and they all hug... they say something to Aiden in Spanish that he apparently understands, based on the kiss he gives them.

Eventually everybody gets it together enough to tell him how much they loved everything.

Aiden asks if they have any favorites but nobody wants to pick... they say he should sing all of them.

Aiden's not sure, "I don't think they'll let me... Did I sing that one OK? I love that song, but don't know if I sound good enough. And guys, looking at the Spanish speakers, how did I do with the Spanish... Matteo has been helping me a lot, but it's certainly not perfect," which gets a lot of protest saying it was great. He doesn't entirely believe them but he appreciates what they say.

The dads ask him how he's feeling about everything. He thinks for a bit and says,

"I feel good actually. After gran died, I felt like I never wanted to sing again... I never thought I could sing without missing her... so much... but like I told these guys last night... I just close my eyes before I start and try to imagine her sitting here with a big smile... with all you naked men. I think that would make her really smile," which gets a long loud laugh, although they also know it's really hard for Aiden too.

Dad Jared, channeling dad Kevin, says, "Son, we know it's sad for you and we're really sorry. But it sounds like she really loved listening to you sing... and I'm sure she really appreciated it even more after she got sick... and loved you even more. Aiden, what was your gran's name?"

Which gets a big smile out of Aiden. He wipes a tear and says, "AIice. She was 81 when she died... and she kinda raised me," but can't really continue.

Dad Kevin asks, "Aiden, do you have any pictures of her that you'd like to frame. We'll gladly help you do that," which causes him to smile...

He says, "I have a couple pictures of her, but they're not in great shape... I wish I had some better ones."

Steve says, "Can I look at them sometime? I might be able to scan them and touch them up... and print them bigger. It would be easier if you had the negatives."

Aiden gets a big smile and says, "I do. I didn't know they could be used for anything, but they're in that envelope thing with the pictures."

Steve gets a big smile too and says, "Aiden that's great. If I can borrow them I'll see what I can do. No promises, but dad's scanner has an attachment to scan negatives... let me try," and Aiden thanks him and says he'll get them for him later...

They're already in Palm Springs, because he asked Steve and Corey bring them back. They're very important to him and he didn't want to risk losing them or having them get damaged.

They go back to the living room and all sit down... on the floor, the same as before. The dads had decided not to offer more wine tonight... but they plan to have a little toast tomorrow, after Aiden's and Matteo's... singing and playing. They're not sure what to call it either. Rick had said that singing with the group at VillageFest was his 'tryout', so what is tomorrow? Nobody knows.

They just talk until everybody is kinda tired. Luke looks at dad Alex and Kevin and asks, "Dads, is it really ok if we sleep with you tonight?" and Alex just hugs him tighter and says, "You better... I'm counting on it," which is of course exactly what Luke was hoping he'd say. Alex is rewarded with a nice kiss.

After a while nobody has much else to say, and a couple are already yawning.

Alex asks, "Guys, are you ready? If we wait any longer we'll all be asleep... and I really want us to talk some first," which gets huge smiles from Luke and Steve.

Sam asks his dads, "Dads, it doesn't have to be tonight... but, we'd really like to sleep with both of you too... if we can... but we won't all fit... will we?

Dad Ken says, "We would love that guys... you decide who and when, we're pretty flexible. And it'll be tight, but I think we'll do ok... at worst we can lie in bed and talk until you're sleepy... even if you want to go back to your bed, but we hope you don't.

"And guys, all of you, not just ours, we thought Kevin and Alex were nuts this morning and you'd go running and screaming to get away," which gets a big laugh and several boys, not just theirs, say they thought they'd all really lost their minds... which gets more laughs. But they all say that they're really glad they did it, which makes the dads feel a lot better about trying it.

Ken thinks about it some more and says, "You know guys... tonight is great actually... if we don't all fit, we can at least spend some time just lying in bed and talking and then you guys can go back to your bed to sleep... if you want to. How's that?" and all three say great...

He adds, "Aiden, Daniel and Diego... you too, just let us know when," and they all smile and say they will.

They finally get up and do their goodnight hugs and kisses... which takes a while.

They all go with Javier and Matteo to see their new room and welcome them to the family, and it's a great excuse for more hugs and a few more kisses... not that any of these guys need many excuses for that.

Luke, being Luke, says, "We're sure you guys want some time together... but guys, we really do miss spending some time with you too," and just hugs them. They tell him they miss all of them too.

So they kiss each other goodnight.

The boys sleeping with their dads tonight go off to get ready.

The dads start worrying.
