21 - Palm Springs Family - Apart Tuesday Luke

Day 11 Since Meeting

8th Day In Palm Springs

Luke and Michael

Michael wakes up early every morning, because he's used to getting up to do breakfast. Aiden and his crew had already asked to do breakfast, for which Michael is both grateful and guilty.

He lies in bed just staring at a sleeping Luke, and thinking how incredibly beautiful he is. He leans in with his face so he can enjoy the scent of this magnificent young man.

Luke must sense Michael watching him, for he wakes up and seeing Michael looking him in the eyes, leans up and kisses Michael sweetly, which Michael gladly returns.

After a sweet kiss, they get up and pee and then brush their teeth side by side, and head out to the kitchen... and yes, they washed their hands first.

They find Aiden and helpers well into getting breakfast ready. Michael asks if they can help, but Aiden says it's all almost done. He tells them they can get their plates and start, as he's still making pancakes. Michael says they'll help clean up after breakfast.

They take their plates and go outside and sit down. All the other boys not cooking are already eating. They sit at the table with Sam, Kurt and Nick and have a nice chat.

The boys ask if they've heard from the other two, and they tell them that they talked last night, and that they had met two cute guys from Palm Springs that they're going to go sightseeing with.

A few boys roll their eyes and chuckle. Apparently none of them are surprised... or pissed off. They had talked about Steve going with Corey instead of one of them, but decided they'd seen a lot more of LA than Steve, and are happier staying in Palm Springs.

The four dads walk out halfway thru the explanation and ask about it. Luke and Michael explain about the call last night, and that they told them they had no problem with them sightseeing together and getting to know them better...

No mention of sex is made, although the dads are reading pretty quickly between the lines, but they don't see anything to be upset or excited about. They trust Corey to make sure things are safe and don't get out of hand.

Michael shows them the picture they sent with the four of them, and the dads agree that they're cute, and quickly notice the age difference, which Michael and Luke explain.

Kevin asks for Michael's phone, so he can see the picture a little better. After a few seconds it looks like something occurs to him. He asks, "Michael, while I'm thinking about it, can you send me a copy of this please? I'm starting to collect pictures of everybody... we may all enjoy them someday," which Michael says is a good idea, and he immediately sends the picture to Kevin's phone.

That reminds Kevin that they need to set up photo sharing on all the iPhones, thru Apple's iCloud, so all the photos will end up shared automatically.

Michael asks the dads if anything particular needs to be done today, and they can't really think of anything, so they have no exact plans for the day.

They all sit and have a great breakfast, chatting about anything and everything. As everybody finishes, they go by to thank the `morning crew' for their work... and several ask them to never stop cooking. Doesn't insult Michael at all... he's hoping that too.

All the boys run back into the house, probably to brush their teeth before they head to the pool.

It's a good thing boys don't dissolve in pool water, or all these would've been history a long time ago.

Alex says that he needs to work in the office for a couple hours, which he does a lot of mornings after breakfast.

Alex and Kevin's boys, and some of the others too, have all talked about it and wonder what he does in the office most mornings. As far as they know neither of their dads actually has a job... although they don't know how that works either.

At that point all the dads get up to start their grueling daily routine of chatting while sipping margaritas while watching the boys in the pool.

Life in Palm Springs can sometimes be very hard... uhhh... difficult.

It's A Small World After All

They all head inside, and as soon as they're alone, Kevin pulls out his phone and shows the picture Michael sent to Alex, and asks, "Do you recognize these guys, especially the older one, Chris?"

Alex takes the phone, but gives Kevin a very curious look, "I don't remember either Michael or Luke telling us their names? How did you know that?"

Kevin, being Kevin, just smiles and says, "Look carefully at that picture. Do you recognize either one of them?" which causes Alex to carefully look... It slowly dawns on him...

Alex asks, "Is that... oh, that's Jorge and Richard's partner... Chris. I'll be damned. I'm surprised Michael didn't recognize him, but I didn't either. And they just happened to run into Corey and Luke? Aren't they in the process of moving?".... (pointing somewhere out back)...

Kevin smiles and says, "Yeah, in a couple weeks, the last I heard. I think a dinner is in order, don't you. Ken, do we know when they're coming back? They've been gone one night already."

Ken thinks and says, "Last I heard I think they're spending three nights... So, Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday Nights in LA and they're coming back Thursday."

Kevin types something on his phone for a while and then puts it away, smiling and thinking that this will surprise a lot of people. They all go to brush teeth and other morning duties... and then Alex heads for the office.

About twenty minutes later Kevin's phone rings and he excuses himself to take the call.

In The Other Room

Kevin answers, "Hello, this is Kevin. Is this Jorge?"

(* other half of conversation unheard *)

Laughing, "Yeah, I was surprised too. Apparently two of yours found two of ours."

"Yes, me too. It has been way too long. We think they're coming back Thursday, if that works for you I'll ask ours to be here in plenty of time for dinner."

(* other half of conversation unheard *)

"Perfect. I think that will be a nice surprise. Get here `5-ish' or so, eat about `6-ish'. But I imagine your boys will head to the pool with ours, so honestly any time after 2 or so is fine, we'll have the margarita machine going. How's that? "

"Great, see you then... I assume you remember where the house is," while chuckling.

(* other half of conversation unheard *)

"YEAH, YEAH, YEAH... We'll see everybody Thursday for dinner. Looking forward to seeing you all. Oh, I'm willing to bet almost all of our boys will be naked as soon as possible, so plan accordingly."

"OK, Great, we'll see you then. OH... This is important. Please do NOT tell them you're coming here for dinner... be vague. Don't mention us at all. I really want to surprise all of them. OK?"

"Great, we'll see you all Thursday."

After that it's pretty much a 'boring' day, if you can call seven naked boys, four dads and Michael playing grab ass, and volleyball most of the day boring.

2nd Tuesday

Bored

Michael is thinking the day is pretty boring too. Nobody has anything they really want to do. The boys still spend a lot of time in the pool. They just went downtown yesterday, so no reason to do that again this soon. To do much with all the boys, they'll need Corey back to help... not that the boys will get out of the pool anyway.

Michael and Luke go get in the pool with the other boys. They have a few rousing games of volleyball, although it seems to be mostly about finding a good excuse to grab each other naked.

And it looks like the other boys are quickly getting over their shyness about grabbing Michael. He's pretty sure they're spending as much time grabbing him as they are throwing the ball around... and he does not object. He does get hard a lot, but so do the boys, and he doesn't mind that either. The boys all have really big smiles.

Eventually Michael tires out, so him and the boys come over to sit with the dads, and chat about everything. The dads notice that the boys seem to be getting tired of doing nothing but the pool, which makes them happy too.

During a lull in the conversation, Luke has been wanting to ask for a while, "Dads... I was wondering... can I... uhh... would it be ok... uhhh... never mind," which gets the dads curious.

Dad Kevin says nicely, "Luke, you can ask us anything... you know that I hope," which gets a frown from Luke that pretty quickly turns into a big smile.

He finally says, "Dads, I found a weight bench and weights and dumbbells in the shed next to the garage. Can I use those... if it's ok? We had a small weight room at the group home and Steve and I liked to do that some... Daniel and Diego did that with us some too. I... don't really get to walk or exercise or row across the lake or anything here," looking down at his shoes most of the time. Daniel immediately says he'd like that too.

Michael looks at the boys with a big smile, "Guys, that's a great idea. Those are mine. I used to lift weights a lot... I'd like that too, and I'll do that with you, and any of you other guys that want to, and I can show you what I do if you haven't done it before," and most of the boys sound pretty excited.

The thought of a really sweaty Michael... and probably Corey too, lifting weights is more than they can resist... especially if they're naked.

Michael says, "That'll be great guys. There's a lot going on today and tomorrow, but maybe after that we can go in and clean everything up and get it ready to use," which gets a happy agreement.

Alex adds, "You can move the stuff in there to the garage. We've never used that garage. It's really old and too small and too far back from the driveway. I've always wanted to tear that building down and redo it... into something more useful.

"I'll have to find somebody to draw up some plans for that space (which gets Nick's attention... although he doesn't say anything). Maybe we can do a weight room in there... and build a new garage closer to the front," which excites Luke and Michael. Michael misses lifting weights, and wouldn't mind having an actual weight room either.

And in fact, Alex has already been thinking about what else he can do in that spot... even thinking about a steam room for when it gets too cold for the boys to get in the pool so much. Alex and Kevin put a small steam room in a house they renovated once, before they met Michael, and it was great to have, especially in the winter. And honestly, he wouldn't mind having a steam room either.

Diego decides that this is also a good time to ask, "Dads, we were wondering too... we're all getting a little tired of staying in the pool all day. We were wondering if we can use some of our allowances to buy a soccer ball and maybe some shorts for playing in... all of our shorts are too nice to use for that?"

It's hard to tell who's happier, the boys or the dads. They all look at each other with a big smile.

Dad Ken, of all people, speaks up and says, "Guys, that's great. We've all talked about it and were hoping you'd eventually want to get out of the pool, at least some (little laugh). We'll buy those things for you... we don't want you using your allowances for that," which starts to get some protests, but after one look from dad Ken... nobody is really up for challenging him much... so they decide not to say anything other than, "Thank you."

Alex and Kevin are kinda annoyed that when Ken says something like that, nobody challenges him... unlike them. And no... it's not like he's mean or anything... he just just some way of saying things that doesn't leave it open to debate. And no, Alex and Kevin aren't really annoyed, but they have noticed the difference.

Luke's realized for a while that he's getting tired of having nothing to do, except maybe sex, but he's afraid to bring it up. What he'd really like to do would involve buying a couple things, and he's still guilty over how much his dads spent on clothes, shoes, iPad and iPhone for him and his brothers. He can't make himself ask about anything else. He would gladly use his allowance, but he's afraid to ask. He's pretty sure it would go the same way as the shorts and soccer ball.

Michael says, "We won't all fit in the car, but how about giving your sizes to the guys going shopping and we'll see what we can find at Walmart. How's that?" which gets a pretty good agreement.

Luke speaks up, "Michael, Steve put all our sizes on the phones after we went shopping for clothes... on a... List... or something... I think he said," which surprises the dads, that Steve had done that.

Dad Kevin suggests, "Guys, why don't you all put your favorite color for shorts and t-shirts on the list and these guys can buy some when they're at Walmart. We'll all go out later and get more, so maybe just one or two pairs each for now, and then you can all pick your own later," which gets a very happy agreement.

So, it's decided... and the dads are at least as happy as they boys.

They all manage to kill enough time to make it to lunch, so after a bit Michael and Luke go to prepare lunch, since the other guys have been doing most breakfasts the last few days. But Aiden and crew say they want to help, so it doesn't take long to get everything ready.

Today is nothing special. Luke has already learned to grill hamburgers and chicken, since a few boys and adults prefer that. Nick asks about helping, so he goes with him. Michael goes with them and starts showing them how to clean and light the grill... and is very happy to have the help.

Luke was going to say that he wants to wear Michael's assless 'Naked Chef' apron, but he offers it to Nick instead, who quickly puts it on with a very big smile, which gets a big laugh out of everybody, even though they've seen it before... I mean the apron... well, Nick's ass too. Oh... never mind.

Luke's the oldest of the boys, and will be turning thirteen first... in August. Nick will turn thirteen in September, and Steve in October.

All the boys think they both have nice asses, but it's not nearly as nice as Michael's and Corey's... yet. And none of them can wait until they all have asses like Corey and Michael... and they're all starting to imagine what they can do with them... all.

Aiden and his 'crew' are getting things ready inside, including the hamburger patties for Luke and Nick to grill. Sam and Kurt tell them they'll go start cleaning the outside tables.

The dads are sitting and watching all the boys want to help... and are very happy. They're not sure what's going on, but maybe the boys getting bored is a good thing.

It doesn't take long to get everything ready and the two families have a great group-effort lunch, and a nice conversation... or more accurately, about five different conversations going on at the same time.

Between the pool and video games they all manage to kill the afternoon. Several of the boys were on the computer in the corner for a while.

Kevin asks Michael and Luke, "Have the guys said when they're coming back? Last we heard was Thursday," which causes a little discussion with Michael and Luke. They both think they're coming back Thursday.

Alex can't resist asking, "Luke, I'm surprised you're not really unhappy about Steve being gone so long," which causes Luke to consider for a moment.

Luke finally says, "Nope. Dad... I'm having a great time and I bet him and Corey are too... I'm really looking forward to him being back, but I want him to have a good time... Dads... honestly I'm surprised too... but... we never thought we would ever have a family we love again... and who loves us... and we really want both of us to enjoy everything... But I do miss him... a lot," and all the dads notice his red eyes.

Somehow that makes them feel a little better.

They finish lunch, the boys start going wherever boys go when they're not eating, but pretty soon only the adults and Luke are left. They notice later that several of them are playing some video game in the TV room, and from the amount of noise wafting down the hall they seem to be having a good time.

Kevin says to Michael and Luke, "Guys, I've invited some friends over for dinner Thursday. They may get here as early as 2PM so their boys can enjoy the pool. Can you please be sure that they're coming back Thursday, and ask them to get back not too late, if that's ok, so they'll be here in plenty of time for dinner? If they want to stay longer, let me know and I'll reschedule dinner."

Michael and Luke say they'll let them know.

Kevin continues, "Also guys, maybe ask Aiden and his `crew' to help with dinner... they really do seem to enjoy that. We want to help the three of them keep cooking since they obviously enjoys it, but we're feeling a little guilty about them cooking all the time... We don't know whether we should increase their allowances for working this much or not... this is hard!" which causes Luke and Michael to laugh out loud. They know figuring out all this stuff is hard, too.

Michael adds, "Yeah, I feel guilty about it too, but every morning when I get up they're already busy in the kitchen. They do a great job, but I don't want them to get tired of it."

They say they'll gladly ask Aiden if he wants to help.

But it occurs to Kevin that they should just go talk to the three. Since they're not in the TV room with the others, they decide to just go talk to them.

Daniel, Diego and Aiden's Room...

Apparently

Kevin, Michael and Luke walk down to Daniel and Diego's room, since Aiden is almost always with those two. They hear sounds as they come down the hall, and it sounds like the three are there.

As they walk up to the open door they see all three piled up on the bed naked, very cozy with each other... with Aiden in the middle. They're all three standing there looking very surprised as the boys notice them and look up.

Their first reaction is to panic at being 'caught' by dad Kevin, Michael and Luke, but they look at each other and decide they're not doing anything wrong.

Diego says, "Hi dad and guys. We're just hanging out... What's up?"

To which Kevin is both a little surprised and very proud that they don't freak out. He just says they wanted to talk to them a bit.

There's only one chair in here, so Luke goes and sits on the bottom of their bed, Michael goes over and wedges himself on the bed beside Luke, and dad Kevin sits in the one chair.

Kevin starts, "Guys, we just wanted to talk to you a little about your cooking," which gets a look of panic on Aiden's face.

Aiden blurts out, "Did we do something wrong. I'm sorry..." which causes Kevin to raise his hand to object.

Kevin smiles big and says, "No! Guys, everything you've done has been great... absolutely wonderful. We just all feel guilty that you're spending so much of your time cooking and cleaning afterwards.

"We really just wanted to ask you what WE ALL can do to repay some of your hard work? We certainly love all of you helping out in the kitchen, it's wonderful... but we don't want to work you to death," which causes a big look of relief on their faces.

Diego says, "Dad, we love helping. We used to help our mom cook a lot of the time, and we really enjoy helping Aiden. He's really good. Aiden does most of the work, we just do what he asks us to do," making Aiden blush.

Aiden objects, "Uhhh... Dad?... I don't really know what to call you... but Daniel and Diego help a lot... they know how to cook a lot of things too, especially baking and Mexican Food, so we were thinking about maybe doing a Mexican dinner some time," which excites everybody.

Michael adds, "Guys, your cooking is great. You fix a way better breakfast than I do, and everybody loves your biscuits, so I know your brothers would rather have you cook than me, but I feel guilty making you do it all the time."

Aiden is very happy, "Uhhh... dad... I really like having something to do. It makes me... happy... knowing I'm doing something my gran taught me. Thank you for letting us help out. You're all letting us live here, I'm really glad we can do a little to help out."

Kevin is always impressed by the boys and says, "Guys, we're really happy that you're all here, I promise... and we really, really do appreciate all the work you do... So Aiden, Daniel and Diego, we have a special request... if it's not too much. We're inviting some friends over for dinner Thursday. We want Corey and Steve to be here, and we think they'll be back Thursday in plenty of time.

"There will be three adults and 3 boys. We'd like you guys to decide what to fix... if you're ok doing that.

"And guys, please don't try to do too much... If the boys want to order pizza that's fine, or make hamburgers, as long as it's not too much for you guys to do... Whatever you think the guys will like... and feel free to ask them. What do you think guys... is that something you'd like to do?"

Aiden turns to Daniel and Diego and they have a quick conversation... of some kind. It doesn't exactly sound like English... or Spanish. They seem to know what they're talking about, but I have no idea.

They turn around and Aiden says proudly, "We'd love to do dinner. Do you know what you want to have for dinner? I think our brothers would probably rather have pizza, but we'll ask," which gets a little laugh.

Kevin really wants to let Aiden do anything he's comfortable with, but doesn't want to freak him out or give him more to do than he can do.

Kevin says, "We can come up with what to have... or you can, if you're comfortable doing that. How about you guys think about it tonight and then let us know tomorrow morning. We can shop for most stuff tomorrow, and still have Thursday to get last minute items and to start getting things ready. You guys obviously know how to plan breakfast and lunch, but you tell us. If you're not comfortable deciding what to have, Michael can help."

Which prompts Michael, "Guys, Luke and I will help any way we can. If you get your shopping list on the phones early we'll shop tomorrow, and then help with anything we can. How's that?"

Aiden, with a huge smile on his face, says, "Great, we'll get started on that. Dad, any idea of things they do or don't like to eat?"

Kevin says, "We know these guys pretty well, I don't think there's anything in particular... One of them isn't a big fish fan, kinda like Luke (giving him an evil smile, which gets a laugh)... but nobody is a vegetarian or anything. So I think pretty much anything will be fine. What do you think?"

Kevin knows that Jorge and one of their sons if of Mexican Hispanic heritage, but doesn't want to overly influence what they prepare for dinner.

He does volunteer, "Guys, actually I just thought of something. These guys do have a home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They also love Guadalajara... they talk all the time about how good the Mexican Food is in both places. But I don't want to influence your decision about what to have."

Aiden looks at Daniel and Diego, who nod, and says excitedly, "OK. With Diego and Daniel's help, I think we can do Mexican Food. Our brothers might even like that. What do you think guys?"

Daniel and Diego look at each other and Daniel says, "Yeah, we can certainly cook Mexican Food. Our family was from Guadalajara too, so maybe it'll be the same."

Aiden adds, "I think that'll be pretty easy. We'll ask our brothers to see if they want to eat the same thing or pizza or hamburgers... No problem. I think everything will be fine. Oh, how... uh... how dressed up will everybody be... I mean, is this like a real fancy dinner or anything?" trying to ask if this is a formal kind of dinner.

Kevin laughs pretty good and says, "No, not fancy at all. I've told them it's clothing optional if they want, and they'll all probably be naked as fast as you guys. So, no... not fancy at all. I've also told them to get here anytime after about 2PM, so you guys can spend some time with their three boys and give all of you time in the pool if you want. Is that OK?" not expecting it to be a problem.

Aiden and crew immediately say, "No problem... Great."

Kevin is so proud he can hardly say, "That's great guys. And if you change your mind and don't want to do this, please let me or Michael know. It won't be a problem, I promise.

"Also guys, we need to think about getting some everyday plates and stuff to use. We don't have enough that matches for everybody. Michael, do you have any idea where to go for dishes? I don't."

Aiden hesitates but says, "Uhhh... dad?... you mentioned getting dishes a few days ago. We've been looking online for that (pointing to Daniel and Diego and him). Bed Bath and Beyond has the best selection. Target also has some, and we can try Walmart too, but they don't seem to have as much," which surprises and impresses the hell out of Kevin, that they all checked.

Kevin says, "Guys. Wow. Thank you for looking into that. That's great... Michael and Luke, maybe tomorrow morning you can take these guys and see what they have. Are you guys OK looking at everything they have and deciding on what we need? Michael can help if you need.

"There is... well... our family of fourteen, plus J&J of 7, plus... well, let's plan on enough for 30 people... with maybe a few extras of everything in case something gets broken. And get whatever you think we need... plates, bowls, and all that stuff. They can all match or you can get a variety... How's that guys? "

Aiden, looking both excited and worried, says, "Yeah... Ok... We can do that, right guys? " looking at Daniel and Diego.

They both say, "Yeah, no problem," and then Daniel asks, "Dad, how much can we spend on all this?"

Aiden adds, "Yeah... dad, would you rather get things that look better, or are cheaper? From what we've seen, there can be a big difference in price."

Kevin says, "Whatever you think is best, but I'd rather pay extra for something that looks good. Michael can pay for everything," giving Michael a smile.

Laughing, Michael says, "Oh great, thanks. Paper plates it is... (everybody laughs)... just kidding guys. I have a credit card that we use for things for the house like this... it's not really my money, so no problem... anything you want (giving Kevin a big smile back). So guys how about after breakfast tomorrow we go shop for dishes... And Aiden, if you guys want to sleep late, Luke and I can fix breakfast tomorrow."

To which Aiden and his crew object, saying they've already planned breakfast.

Michael gives in, but says, "Ok guys, and thanks... and if you can get your list of things you need on the reminder list by then, we can go shopping for a soccer ball and shorts and things, then dishes, and then food after dishes. It'll be a big shopping day," and the boys all agree excitedly.

So it's decided.

Michael talks to Luke and they decide to let Corey and Steve know about dinner and be sure they're coming back Thursday... which they do, being sure to tell them they can stay later if they want and dinner will be rescheduled.

Gran's Soup

Before Kevin and Michael disappear, Aiden and crew ask if they can do dinner.

Kevin says, "Yes, of course," but he's feeling pretty guilty because they're doing so much. He mentions it and Aiden gets up off the bed and comes over and hugs him pretty good and says he loves it, so he gives in... pretty gladly actually.

Kevin, Michael and Luke barely get back to their grueling routine of sitting around when the kitchen crew comes back out and heads to the kitchen. Aiden says they're planning on something simple tonight.

Since they had a pretty big lunch of chicken or hamburgers, potato salad and fruit, they don't go all out on dinner. Michael tells them he'll help, but they say they'd like to do it and surprise everybody, so everybody kinda stays out of the kitchen. Aiden says dinner will be ready in about an hour.

Michael's really happy the boys want to do something like the weights, so he asks, "Guys, since we have an hour until dinner, you want to go out and we can start cleaning up the shed a bit?" which gets a unanimous agreement. So all the boys not cooking head for the shed, which delights the dads.

Michael asks them to go put on shoes and clothes first. He doesn't want anybody to hurt themselves cleaning out all the stuff in there. The boys don't even object to getting dressed.

It takes about an hour or so before they come out and tell everybody that dinner is ready, so they head back to the kitchen. They say the boys and Michael are still cleaning the shed, so Daniel runs out to get them.

When they get to the kitchen, what they find surprises them all.

Aiden had made his gran's favorite potato soup, cornbread muffins, salad and fruit. Everybody loads up their plates and bowls and head outside... and everybody is amazed at how good everything is.

Kevin asks about the soup and Aiden explains that his gran always loved this soup.

It's a simple soup of just sliced potatoes that are boiled until they're tender, and then the water is thickened with flour mixed in a bit of water, with cooked bacon or ham and milk added for flavor. It's a wonderful thick soup.
