This is a story of fiction, involving sensitive and controversial topics and sex. If there is any reason you shouldn't read such stories, then please don't read this one.

This is a `Coming of Age' story... It wasn't supposed to include a lot of sex, but the boys seem to have their own ideas. Sorry?

Hi Everyone:

This chapter got a little longer than expected.

A good place to pause if you need a break is when they land for refueling.

It's a little more than half-way thru the chapter.

Monday Morning

Day 4

We go back to the same breakfast place again, and get put in the same back room again... Good for them. Fortunately, by the time we get there we'd managed to recover at least a bit.

As soon as we sit down, Steve looks at the three of us a little worried, and says, "Dads and Michael. We're sorry about not waiting until the very end to give them the envelope, but we talked about it this morning, and thought it would be better if we did that before our final `goodbyes'. We thought it would be a little better to thank them before really saying goodbye. We hope you aren't... uhh... disappointed in us. We wanted to ask first, but there wasn't enough time."

This time it's Alex with red eyes. Rubbing Steve's back, who's seated next to him, and pulling him into a hug, says, "Boys, every time I think I can't be any more proud of you, you prove me wrong. What you did was absolutely amazing and perfect, in every way. You're right, it was much better the way you did it... And sons, thank you so, so much for what you said... That was the most amazing thing I've ever heard. I can't begin to tell you how much we love all of you. You're all totally amazing. And guys, if you always do what you think is right in your hearts, we will never be disappointed in you. Ever! We promise."

Ok, so after a few more red eyes and a few hugs and shoulder rubs, the boys show Michael absolutely no mercy wanting to know why he's `dressed up'. He doesn't give an inch.... `you'll see' is all they get. They are not happy.

No surprise, but Luke even tries the, "you said you would always tell us the truth," but Michael isn't having it.

Michael replies, "No, sorry Luke... we didn't say that. We told you we would never LIE to you. Keeping a secret is not a LIE. Sometimes there are good reasons you have to keep something to yourself," which I think even gets a little bit of grudging respect from Luke. Maybe?

That comment even makes Diego and Daniel look at each other... hopefully. And when he says it, Michael looks directly at Diego and Daniel and winks at them, which almost causes them to pee on themselves.

We finish and get on our way in plenty of time. We know the boys are kinda gonna freak out, but I don't think we were expecting how much. We start on our way with a constant barrage of questions about how we're getting home, always with the same answer, "you'll see."

Luke, especially, isn't happy, but I think the other boys, including Steve, are happy watching him squirm a little. Poor guy.

So, we get to the private airpark, park the car and go inside. We start to tell the boys to only take their personal things that they want on the plane, and then sadly realize they don't have any personal belongings. All their belongings are basically clothes. I see a big shopping trip in our very near future, and I can't wait.

The boys want to grab their luggage, but we tell them somebody else will get it. They look worried. We lock the car, and go to the counter, introduce ourselves, and after they confirm our information and flight, ask us if we have luggage. We give them the key to the car and ask them to hold the car until the car rental agency comes to pick it up. They say they gladly will. Of course, I'm sure we'll pay for that courtesy. Oh well.

We go over and take a seat, with the boys constantly running to the window to look outside. They have questions about where the plane is that they'll be flying on. They don't get any answers other than `you'll see'.

The boys didn't notice that Michael had quietly disappeared until someone comes thru a back door and comes over to us and says the plane is ready for boarding.

They look around and not finding Michael, panic. We tell them it's no problem, we won't leave without him, but none of them want to move until Michael is with us. After finally convincing them that Michael will not be left behind, and that he's waiting for us outside, they reluctantly agree to let the man escort us out back.

As soon as we clear the door, they look ahead and a little to the left at a plane, and notice Michael standing there in his suit. We had anticipated that, so we have a pretty good grip on each one's hand... we don't want them running across the tarmac out of control.

When we finally get near the plane, not nearly fast enough for them, it's like watching a big tug of war going on inside their heads. Is it Michael, standing by the stairs to the plane, or the plane? They can't decide which is more interesting at the moment.

Just as their heads are about to explode, the Captain comes down the stairs from the plane and introduces himself... to them.

Looking directly at the boys, "Good morning Gentlemen, I'm your captain today, Captain Andrews. I'll give you an update on our flight as soon as we get underway. It looks like smooth flying today... we'll make one stop, in Denver, to refuel. You'll be able to get off the plane for a few minutes and stretch you legs. If you have any questions that Michael can't answer, we'll be happy to help. We hope you all enjoy your flight today."

He shakes each of the boys' hands, and they all look like they're gonna faint. Then he comes over and shakes our hands and speaks to us for a few minutes. The boys are dying to get on the plane and not exactly standing still, so he makes it quick. He goes back into the office for something.

When the Captain leaves, Michael smiles, motions toward the stairs and very professionally says, while looking straight at THEM, "Gentlemen... (stressing that word), your plane is ready for boarding. Please watch your step, and feel free to select your seat."

I just thought for sure we were going have to look for dry pants for them all! They're totally freaked. It's really good when a surprise actually works. And boy did this one ever!

Of course the worst part is they're going to expect this always now. We don't do this often. It was a combination of not knowing how long it would take before they were ready to go back with us, to even wondering if they WOULD go back with us, but mostly wanting them to have a great experience as they get to go to their new home for the first time. But, we'll break the bad news to them later. For now, let them enjoy. These boys haven't had nearly enough enjoyment in their lives so far... and that needs to change.

I so totally expected Luke to beat everybody else up the stairs, but he doesn't. In fact, they all seem totally unsure what to do, so we leave it up to Michael, who gently encourages them to `go ahead, wont bite'. They go in almost like they're going into a `House of Horrors' or something.

We give them a little extra time to figure out where they want to sit before we go onboard. We don't want to influence where they sit. This time needs to be all about them.

This is not a big jet. It will accommodate ten passengers. It has two small loveseats in the middle that face each other across the aisle of the plane, and 3 rows of 2 individual seats, also across the aisle from each other. Two seats at one end of the sofas and 4 seats at the other end. The boys of course had all camped out on the loveseats. We thought they would, so they can sit beside someone. But, there're enough seats to go around.

Of course, the first thing they ask when we come onboard is, "Is it ok where we're sitting?"

"Yep, quoting Luke," I say, which gets a laugh... even from Luke.

I swear I have never seen bigger `boy eyes' in my life. It's like they're afraid to speak. They're just sitting and staring at us with open mouths. Michael checks to make sure the luggage all makes it to the plane, and then he comes onboard. He has some paperwork for the co-pilot or something.

He asks the boys what they want to drink. I wasn't sure any of them could actually answer, but they eventually all select something to drink, which Michael goes away to prepare. But, it's a small plane, so he doesn't have to go `far' away.

He comes back with drinks, and explains to all of us that we should be departing in a little over 30 minutes, which might be a few minutes ahead of schedule. He goes about showing the boys how to fasten their seatbelts, where the bathroom is, and explains they'll have lunch after we reach `cruising altitude'... wow. Their eyes are huge. They honestly look scared. I feel a little bad actually, but it would have been a really long drive.

Michael notices and asks the boys if they're all `ok'. They all say `yes', but they don't look like they mean it. They're turned around on the couches looking out the windows... watching as people do things around the plane. He assures them that it's perfectly safe and they'll love the trip... They do NOT look convinced.

Turns out only Daniel and Diego have ever flown. Bigger surprise than we expected, although I don't know why that was a surprise... our bad actually. We should have thought about that, and talked to them about flying. We're new at this. We apologize to them several times.

The boys gradually loosen up a bit. Michael wedges himself on a sofa between Diego and Daniel. They're the smallest by a bit and easiest to wedge himself between. He sits for a few minutes to chat after he gets all of his work done.

The Captain had come back onboard. Some ding goes off somewhere, and Michael gets up and closes the door, which retracts the stairs, and goes to the galley and puts a few things away. And then, just to impress the boys, takes the handset and announces,

"Gentlemen, we're preparing for takeoff. Please make sure your seats are in an upright, locked position, and please make sure your seatbelts are securely fastened. I'll come thru the cabin momentarily to help as needed."

That does it. I think the boys heads officially explode at that point. They're all looking at Michael like he is... something... not sure what. But, without a doubt, they're all impressed.

I don't think they'll ever see Michael as just a, well, `driver', `cook', `housekeeper', `lover', `brother'.... I know they don't have a full idea of Michael, or us, yet. I mean, they can't. We have literally spent less than three days together. But, if they get bored on the flight, we have a way to start to fix that... we hope.

We really don't fly on private planes much. I honestly don't think they're as safe as bigger planes. And they're way more expensive. We don't want to burst their bubble, but it may be a long time before they're on a private jet again, but don't tell them today.

Michael used to work as a steward, and has kept his certification for those times we do fly private... we, uhhhh, prefer him to be our steward instead of some blonde bimbo, for obvious reasons. And, he's talked a bit about giving it up, but of course it's totally up to him. He used to take occasional trips to cover for some of his steward friends, but that has pretty much not happened for a while.

Just as the boys are beginning to relax a little bit, the Captain just has to screw that up,

"Good morning Gentlemen, this is Captain Andrews speaking. Our first officer today is Lt. Murphy. Our flight today to Palm Springs, California will begin shortly. We're awaiting final clearance from the tower. We expect our flying time today to be just over five and one half hours. We will stop for refueling in Denver, at which time you will be able to leave the plane for about 30 minutes if you wish. All reports are showing clear flying, with no turbulence reported or expected. We do, however, ask you to always wear your seatbelts when seated, and any time the `seatbelt' sign is lighted. If you have any questions, please check with Michael. And, to our special guests today, we will open the cockpit doors and invite you in for a quick tour of the cockpit once we are fully underway, probably after we leave Denver. Please relax and enjoy your flight with us today. Thank you, and we appreciate you flying with Executive Private Air today. Michael, please prepare for takeoff."

WOW! Cockpit tour... that gets their attention. They look like they can't quite breathe.

Michael gets out of his seat, goes back to the PA system, and announces, "Gentlemen, please prepare for takeoff. Please put away all loose items. Please insure that your seatbelts are securely fastened. I'll come thru the cabin to assist as needed. If you have any questions, please let me know."

Michael is giving the boys the entire package today. It's clear he loves these boys as much as we do. And he does. He goes thru and carefully checks each seatbelt to be sure it's secure. The boys look at him with total `worship'. Alex and I can't stop smiling. After checking everything for each of his little brothers, he gives each a big kiss on the cheek, which they seem to love.

We actually thought the boys would switch to the individual seats for takeoff so they can see out the windows better, but they don't. I don't think they thought about that. They just turn around sideways, as best they can, once they're buckled in, but they don't seem to mind.

And yes, for the record, I considered mentioning it before we take off, but I'm really trying not to be one of those impatient parents who won't ever let their kids discover things for themselves. Damn this is hard. And, they'll have another chance when we take off from Denver.

One final message from the captain before takeoff, "This is the Captain again. We have received final clearance from the tower. Michael, please take your seat for takeoff."

We're a little surprised that the Captain addresses Michael by name, instead of as `cabin crew' or `steward'. Maybe they do that for really rich people who fly with their own staff - NOT US for the record. Maybe it's because he knows Michael is special to the boys. If so, I don't know how he found out, probably Michael, but I am damn impressed... and very thankful.

And, with that, and really big eyes, we are off... to home. It's been a surprising trip so far, and we'll see how this part goes.

I think all four boys 'squeal' once the plane starts to move. And they quickly figure out it's hard to sit on a couch, turn sideways to look out the window, while holding the hand of your security blanket. So, they're sitting looking forward out of the window, with the person behind reaching forward to hold the hand that's reached behind. It looks pretty ridiculous, actually... and funny. But it makes for some great pictures.

All the boys let out a big `oooohhhh' when the plane takes off and actually leaves the ground. And very big eyes.

If you've ever flown, you know there are a lot of `thunks' and things that sound like growling gears or something... especially when the landing gear retracts after takeoff. It does. The boys all jump and look very worried.

Michael, who's seated in one of the regular seats at the end of the sofas nearest the galley, assures them, "Guys, it's all normal. That's just the sounds of the landing gear, the wheels, coming up. It's no problem. Are you all doing OK. We apparently forgot to ask if you've ever flown before."

Daniel and Diego, who turns out had flown once, say, "Yeah. We flew once.... well... after. But it was a real big plane. I like this better," with a big grin.

Steve and Luke both assure us they're `big boys' and fine, which gets a `yeah right' look from Diego and Daniel. None of them entirely look it, but they're doing great actually.

As soon as the plane gains altitude and levels off, and the seatbelt sign is turned off, Michael gets up and goes into the small galley kitchen, and starts prepping lunch, we assume. Lunch is our last planned joke on the boys ---- at the moment. We'll see how this goes.

The boys are all turned sideways looking out the windows as best they can, and we take pity on them and tell them they can unbuckle their seatbelts if they want, but we recommended they wear them when they're just sitting still.

They do... a little reluctantly, but that allows them to turn a little more. Then one of the boys decides to move to one of the other individual seats. Then they all do. They're side by side, with two in front and two behind, which makes conversation easier, plus the seats swivel... but not all the way around.

They even re-buckle their seatbelts. Damn. Didn't even have to mention it. And you know, that's going to be the hardest thing of all about having kids... knowing when to keep my mouth shut long enough to let them figure things out for themselves.

It's going to be much better than us/me always telling them. I just hope we/I can. It's also something I need to get way better about with Alex and Michael... just saying.

Mile High Club

We were really worried about how the boys would react to Michael being an intimate part of our relationship, once we EVENTUALLY explained it to them... years into the future. We had NOT counted on the little buggers figuring it out on their own, although it was stupid to think that four gay boys wouldn't notice. Damn this is hard.

And that's the same reason Michael winked at Daniel and Diego, about how keeping a secret is not the same as telling a lie. He's pretty sure they're pretty `close' to each other too, just from seeing them together the last couple days. And he wants to let them know it's absolutely no problem.

And, we also want to find some way to explain to them that our opinions about sex, and even about them having sex with... well, whomever, are absolutely going to be different from the typical straight parents, but how do we do that without confusing the hell out of them about why Alex and I are willing to `cheat' on each other with Michael. Except, of course, we don't look at it as `cheating'. I just don't know how we can ever explain it.

We had discussed maybe explaining about the `Mile High Club,' but we never figured out HOW to explain it without seeming creepy or something. We don't know. But, they may only ever have this one time, at least for a long time, so while we have at least 20 minutes waiting on lunch, I thought we should bring it up.

Alex and Michael weren't very enthusiastic about broaching the topic. But I do anyway, mostly because it'll give the boys a better understanding about how we feel about things like them having sex.

Michael sits with us except for needing to get up to do something in the galley occasionally.

So, I start, "Guys, while we're waiting on lunch, can we talk to you about something?"

They all seem pretty happy to say `yes', although they look a little worried too.

Continuing, "Guys, I guess you've figured out by now that we're not going to be like your normal straight parents," which gets a pretty good laugh from all the boys.

"We can, if you want us to. (which has all four shaking `no'). We know you think we're all ancient, but we were, once upon a time, boys your age. And, we were gay boys too. None of us, however, had ANYBODY to talk to about stuff like sex... (four big-eyed boys just lost all the interest they had in talking to us).

"We all had to be very sure that our parents would NEVER figure out we were gay... and NEVER EVER figure out we were having sex (four boys looking for a window to jump out of). We all know that you're going to hate this subject, but guys we want you to feel comfortable talking to us about anything, including sex (If looks could un-adopt).

"First, we want you to know that we're not going to freak out with you about sex. You already know about us and Michael, and we assume boyfriends, AND brothers, are probably having sex regularly," while pointing to the correct `couples'.

Diego, looking close to passing out, stammers out, , "Dads, we're brothers... we... uhhh... we... aren't... supposed to have sex with each other."

We all notice he didn't say they weren't having sex with each other, probably confirming our suspicions..

"Diego, can I ask why you say that?" I ask.

"Because everybody knows that brothers, or brothers and sisters, aren't supposed to have sex with each other."

"Can you tell us why you believe that?"

"Because people say it's wrong. People say it's a sin. Our family was catholic. We're not really religious (looking at Daniel, who nods `no' also), but everybody says it's wrong."

"Ok, would those be the same people who say it's wrong, and a sin, to be gay?"

Nobody looks like they want to answer, but eventually, Daniel says, "Probably."

"Ok guys, do you believe that there is anything wrong with being gay?"

I get a strong, but worried, "NO" from all of them.

"Good, we don't think so either. I DO want to say that brothers having sex isn't the same thing as a brother and sister having sex. So, I guess the question is, why do you believe them about brothers having sex, and not about being gay?"

Daniel asks, looking ready to die, "What's the difference?"

Good for you Daniel, I was hoping somebody would ask that.

I say, "Because you two can't get each other pregnant, no matter how many times you try," and looking at Luke and Steve, "neither can you two." Redder faces have rarely ever been seen on boys before.

"Also, please guys, if you have sex with ANYBODY other than your partner, please let us talk to you about `safe sex' first. Please? There are, unfortunately, a lot of things that someone can catch thru sex. We just want you to be safe. If you ONLY have sex with one other person, or even just with just your brothers, it's very unlikely it will ever be a problem.

"In the linen closet close to your bedrooms at home, we've already stocked it up with LUBE and CONDOMS," but stressing those words didn't help the boys' stress at all.

"Guys, we enjoy sex, and we're assuming you do too. We just want you to be safe. And, we hope you'll eventually feel comfortable enough to talk to us about things like this."

"I'll let you in on a little secret. We almost weren't willing to try to adopt at all, because of having to explain our relationship with Michael. We were afraid it would freak you guys out. I'm actually really glad you figured it out, because it gave us a great chance to ask if it bothers you. You said it didn't. I hope you're still ok with that."

Steve hesitates but says, "Dads, like we said, we talked about it after the first full day together. Luke figured it out... the first day. We love all three of you. It doesn't bother us. It was a surprise... but we're glad we have two dads and a big brother, and it doesn't bother us at all. I'm... not sure we understand... how or why, but we're glad you're together. It wouldn't be the same at all, if Michael was just paid to help out with us. We love Michael... and you both, too."

Kevin continues barely, "Thank you boys. We're very glad... and we love all of you so much too. We want you to know that we'll never freak out with you guys about sex, we promise. There's no reason to be embarrassed about it. That doesn't mean we want to watch you going at it in the living room (four squirming boys), but we're not worried about what you do in private... as long it's safe, and as long as everybody involved agrees.

"Guys, please understand that `NO' means `NO'... no trying to change the other person's mind, no getting mad if they won't do what you want... it just means `NO'... ok?"

Four stunned heads nodding...

"Before I ask this question, I want you all to know we're all three 'members'... in all possible combinations, but only two at a time... all three of us won't fit at the same time," which gets some very confused looks.

"So, do any of you know what the 'mile high club' is?"

After considering for many seconds, Luke finally says, "It's something about sex in an airplane, isn't it?"

"Yes son, it is. Very good. It means having sex in a plane lavatory... or bathroom... that's at least one mile above the ground... (looking down at my iPad connected to the plane's entertainment systems), we're now a little over six miles high," which makes four boys look alarmed. Not sure if it's because they can join the club, or how high we are.

"We're just saying... you may not be on a private jet again for a long time, so don't let this opportunity pass you by, just because it's embarrassing for you. If you do, or don't, it doesn't matter to us. We won't kid you, or embarrass you about it. We won't be mad if you do, or don't. We won't treat you any differently. We won't even mention it to you. So, after lunch what you do is up to you. Is that ok?"

The boys just sit and stare at each other... First at their partners, then at their other brothers.

Leave it to Luke, "Uhhh... Dad... Are you really saying that it's ok if we... uhhh..." pointing to the lavatory.... "together?"

"Yep... If you want... If not, no problem. And boys, (looking at Daniel and Diego), that goes for you too. So it's up to you. You can EACH decide, ok?"

"Ok," kinda scattered response.

Daniel and Diego are not looking comfortable, and Daniel finally says, "Dads, we can't really have sex with each other... can we?"

"Why not sons? I had sex with my step-brother every time I could when I was your ages. And, if I'd had a full brother, that would have been great too. And a twin would have been even better! So, don't be embarrassed or bashful if you want to ... uhhhh... you know," which gets big eyes.

Daniel and Diego look at each other with red eyes. Can it really be this easy? Will their dads really love them just as much... if they know how they feel about each other?

Dad Kevin has his suspicions about Diego and Daniel too, mostly because he knows what he'd do if he had had a gorgeous twin at that age. But he's not sure how to tell them he has absolutely no problem with anything they do together.

Dad Kevin sees the worried looks exchanged by them and wants to say to all four, "Guys, no kidding. We'll never have a problem with you guys... loving each other! We're not going to freak out on you... over sex. We promise," which they all think is the best Christmas present they'll ever get... but they're going to be careful, just in case.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Michael asks if they want anything else to drink before he brings lunch, and gets it for everybody. He comes back and puts some small tablecloth thing out on each place to be used for lunch. He says lunch will be ready in about 10 minutes.

So they settle down and are talking quietly when Michael comes to bring us our lunch. He just comes in and puts it down and turns to the boys and says, "Be right back with yours."

If looks could kill... or cancel four adoptions. We had both asked for a salad with grilled salmon.

"Uhhh, fish? Is that what we get too?" our `lovable beloved problem child' asks.

"Sure. Don't you like fish? All growing young men like fish and salad don't they?" I couldn't resist.

"Uhh... ooookkkkk," he says, totally unconvincingly.

Michael comes back carrying a tray. He had covered it for effect. He puts it down, and with a flourish, lifts the cloth to unveil... Deep dish pizza... with fruit and a couple side things.

The looks of relief on the boys faces are priceless, and I just happen to have my phone ready to take pictures, which gets a few dirty looks, but they're smiling and laughing and happy. Especially after they ALL get their pizza.

We chat about anything and everything during lunch. The boys are busy comparing... well... everything they'd noticed, and how we had `fooled them'. We're not sure how, but sure. We'll go with that.

The boys are noticeably more relaxed... and chatting and having fun. It's so good to see... don't cry!

We all finish up lunch, Michael clears away everything, checks with the boys for drinks, tells them there are snacks available if they want something later.

He comes back and starts passing out iPads and earphones, so they can check out the entertainment choices. It's pretty obvious most of the boys have never even seen an iPad up close. Steve is apparently the only one who has actually used one, and bless his heart, he takes over showing them how they work, and he's very quick to figure out how to access all the movies and entertainment. We're all very impressed.

We figure the boys have a LOT of questions about, well, everything at this point. We had thought that we would offer to have a '50 Questions' session with the boys during the flight if they got bored, but so far that hasn't happened.

L+S Join The Club

Luke leans over and whispers something in Steve's ear that causes him to blush bigly, then he stands up, takes Steve's hand, and announces that THEY need to go pee. So off he goes, dragging poor embarrassed Steve along, who does NOT seem to want to look anybody in the eye.

Luke opens the door and practically pushes Steve inside, and after a little while locks the door, because the `OCCUPIED' light comes on. Must have taken some time to figure out that little door latch thing. I agree. First time in an airplane lavatory, it's totally not obvious how that door works. Push? Pull? Slide? Kick?

Luke immediately attacks Steve's mouth, hugging, rubbing, kissing, groping his sexy boyfriend. He immediately drops to his knees and goes for the zipper, then for what's behind it. Thank goodness they're the first ones to use the lavatory, so at least the floor isn't covered in pee... sorry... not a pleasant thought... for most.

He pulls Steve's pants down just enough to get Steve's dick in his mouth and be able to play with his balls. They both decide it isn't a bad place to do this. The plane makes enough noise in the cabin that there's no way they can be heard, so why the hell not?

They do have to go out eventually, but at this point they're both already embarrassed, but feel comfortable enough that their three-some dads aren't going to totally freak out.

Luke takes only a few seconds to admire and inhale his sexy lover's cock and balls before giving him one of the most excited and best blowjobs he's ever given him. Maybe it's the stress of hurrying, maybe it's the stress of knowing that everybody `out there' knows what they're doing `in here', including their brand new dads and big brother and their two other brothers, but damn it's hot.

With those kind of sexy thoughts, Steve doesn't last long, but he sure as hell doesn't mind. Luke comes up with a mouth full of his cum, and attacks Steve's mouth... sharing, swishing, kissing, savoring, swallowing. "Damn Steve is hot, and I'm never letting him go," Luke thinks to himself... and has never been less afraid of having him taken away from him... for the first time since they've known each other.

After both mouths are thoroughly drained of cum, Steve returns the favor while savoring every moment, every inch, every drop of pre-cum, and then he really enjoys the main course. He massages his balls and sucks his dick until not a drop is left. Standing up, he repeats the amazing kiss and swap that Luke had given him. "Damn he's hot, and I love him so much," Steve thinks to himself...

And, they're both thinking, "This has to be the best dessert ever!"

After the big heads take over from the little ones, they look into each other's eyes with love, which fairly quickly turns to worry, not having a clue how long they've been in here..

Pulling up, zipping up, wiping lips, but of course they each use their tongue to `wipe up' any remaining evidence, wash hands and then try, as hard as they can, to go back and not look so guilty that they'll immediately be busted.

I look up when I notice the `occupied' light goes off, and out they come, and it's pretty obvious it isn't the first time they had `come'.

They do try to totally avoid our eyes as they come back and sit down. Diego and Daniel whisper something to each other when they come back.

I happen to look over at Michael who's giving Luke and Steve a `thumbs up' just as they both look at him and smile.

Even Alex has a big smile on his face. And so do I.

Luke and Steve look at each other, then turn to all of us with the biggest cum-eating grin they can manager. Guess no permanent harm was done to their psyche... good.

But, it doesn't take too long for the novelty and available entertainment to wear off. About an hour into the flight, Luke asks us if he can ask us some questions. Since I was hoping they would, I immediately say `Of course'.

Luke nervously adds, "I don't want to ask anything that I shouldn't. It's just... we're kinda unsure of a few things. It DOESN'T MATTER, but I would just like to ask a few things, if I can... and if it's not...."

I gently interrupt him with, "Luke. All of you guys. We know you're going to have a lot of questions about things, especially us, so we want you to feel comfortable asking us ANYTHING. And we mean that guys, AND we hope that we can do the same with you guys... after we get to know each other better. Like we said in the dining hall, we promise we will never be offended, or insulted, or hold it against you. So, please, ask us anything you want."

All the boys honestly look shocked that we would do that, so...

Leave it to Luke, who wants to know,

"Do all three of you love each other?"

I go first, "Absolutely. I love both of these guys with all my heart, just like I love the four of you, but of course in a different way. You're our sons, so sex is not involved, and never will be, between us." I think it's important to tell them that, just for their own peace of mind.

Michael goes next, "Yes, absolutely. I fell in love with them as soon as I met them. I totally love them, and can't imagine my life without them. Or you!" which gets a few red eyes.

Alex says, a little emotionally, "Yes, absolutely. Michael is absolutely a very important part of our family, a very important part of our relationship, and a very important part of our lives... just like all of you guys are. And we hope he never leaves us... or you," to which Michael says, "Never."

Then Luke, asks, "Are the three of you boyfriends?"

I consider and then ask, "Michael, how would you answer that?"

Michael says, looking thoughtful, "I guess we are. I don't usually think of it like that, but, yeah... I guess we are... I guess I think of us as `partners', `lovers' certainly. Unfortunately, the three of us can never marry each other, but otherwise, honestly, I think of them as my husbands. I hope that doesn't freak you out... sorry," but heads are all nodding no.

This time it's Daniel that responds, looking very sad, "Yeah, that must really hurt that you can't marry. It must be harder because of that."

Now, I have several suspicions about Daniel and Diego. I certainly think they're having sex with each other, not that I blame them in the least, but I suspect it's a lot more than just that. I can see how that question would hurt them too.

Michael responds, "Yeah, that is hard... very hard. I wish we could, but honestly before I met your dads, I don't think I ever even thought about getting married... I just figured as a gay man, I'd never be able to marry... but now that gay people can marry, now I do think it about it some, and yeah, it does hurt that we can't, but it doesn't change how we feel about each other."

The last one seems difficult. I guess because Luke can't't quite figure out how to ask it without using the `sex' word.

"So, dads and Michael, do the three of you always... uhhhh... how do you ...uhhh... is it always the three of you together?", looking like he really is going to pass out.

I want to make him feel a little better, so, I chuckle a bit and say,

"Guys, we know this is all new to you, being able to talk to ANYBODY about any of this stuff. We get it. We really do. Please don't be embarrassed about... well, anything with us. But you can use the word `sex' with us.

"Guys, we might be embarrassed by some of your questions, but the worst that will happen is that we'll blush... a lot... so, I think Michael would be a better person to HONESTLY answer this question. Michael?"

Michael, looking like he just swallowed something he shouldn't have, finally says, "Uhhhh... Pretty much. The three of us sleep together a lot, almost all of the time actually. Sometimes one of us doesn't... feel... like... uhhh... sex, (while giving me a dirty look, and getting four laughs), and if it's me, sometimes we'll still sleep together, or sometimes I just sleep in my room that night, and Alex and Kevin are alone to do whatever they want. If it's one of them that's not in the mood... for sex, he might sleep in my room, and I'll sleep in their room. Sometimes, the one who wants to be together that night, comes to my room. How's that?"

Luke stammers out, "Yeah... that's enough. Okay. Thanks," while looking at how pretty his shoes are.

Steve hesitates but eventually asks, "Dads and Michael... when did you figure out you're gay?" which causes us to chuckle a bit, remembering a long-ago time.

Michael laughs a bit and says, "I think I always knew I was gay... certainly when all my friends went crazy over girls... I went just as crazy over boys... but of course I couldn't let anybody know that. But honestly, it was before that. I always knew I liked watching boys but not girls... even before I knew why," which gets a big laugh... and several agreements.

Alex says, "Yeah... me too. I certainly knew by the time I was about your ages. I never had any interest in girls at all."

Just for turnabout, I ask, "Guys, that's a good question. How about you all? When did you decide you're gay?" which seems to surprise them that I'd ask.

Luke starts, "Dad, I figured it out... about a year ago. I never had any interest in girls," and the other three basically say the same thing. We all sit and talk about how hard it is to know you're gay and can't say anything to anybody, especially your friends.

Steve says basically the same thing.

Diego and Daniel sit and look at each other for a bit and Daniel finally says, "Uhhh... we figured it out... about a year ago. We had to be really careful. Our parents were very religious... and we knew they'd hate us if they ever found out," which leaves both of them with tears running down their faces.

I get up and go over and hug them a bit... they eventually say they're ok, and hug me and even give me a kiss on the cheek.

Great, now I'm crying. Well damn.

Daniel eventually asks, "Was it hard for you... growing up gay?" which both surprises and impresses all three of us.

Michael starts, "Yeah, it was really really hard. It suddenly felt like I didn't have anything in common with my friends that I grew up with, especially my best friend at the time. It's like everything changed when I suddenly wasn't like my friends any more... and it was scary guys.

"Like... dad Kevin just said, I didn't have anybody I could talk to about it. I certainly couldn't go to my best friend and say, "You know how you want to have sex with a girl... I want to have sex with you," which gets some very nervous laughs.

Michael continues, "So, yeah... it was hard and scary and it took a long time to feel better about all that. I think you guys will have it way easier... you have your dads... and me... and we know how it was... and guys, you can always talk to us about this stuff... we promise," which gets red eyes, and not just from the boys. I so want to hug them all, but they're buckled in.

Alex and I both say essentially the same thing.

Maybe this did actually help.

Diego and Daniel

They don't say anything for a few minutes, then Diego whispers something to Daniel, which makes him go beet red... with an olive twist. They just look at each other for a while, and finally Diego asks, "Dad? It's... uh... really.... ok... if we... ?"

Trying to think about what Luke might say, "YEP! Have fun!"

Luke laughs out loud and says, "You guys really aren't like normal parents are you?"

My answer is, "HOPE NOT! You want us to be?"

Luke says, "NO!" as do ALL of the other boys, and everybody laughs pretty good.

Looking at Diego and Daniel I say, "Guys. I'm really not trying to embarrass you... I promise. I just want all of us to be able to talk about stuff, even stuff like this. If I hadn't said anything, there's no way you two would dare to do that. I just didn't want you to be left out. I'm sorry."

Diego, with tears in his eyes, says, "No dads... it's ok. Thank you. It's just that we... well... we... uhh.. never ever told anybody."

Luke, bless his heart, says, "We figured you did, so no surprise."

Daniel looking very shocked blurts out, "YOU DID? Why?"

Luke, laughing says, "You're boys and we figured you're horny too," which gets a few chuckles... but not from Diego or Daniel.

I add, "And boys, we figured you do too, for the same reason. And guys... we promise you, we don't blame you... and none of us have any problem with it... at all," and you can almost see the relief on their faces.

They sit for about 10 minutes or so, and then sheepishly get up, avoiding all eyes, and head to the Lavatory.

D+D Join The Club

But, as they pass me, I notice that their eyes already look a bit red and teary. Damn. I really didn't intend this to be hard difficult for the boys. I really did just want to let them know that we're not going to freak out on them over... well, sex... and let them enjoy this chance.

I start to say something to them, but apparently I'm not doing that as well as I thought... so I don't say anything. I'll wait to see how they are when they come back... assuming they do! Damn this is hard.

- - - - -

Is It Really This Easy?

Daniel and Diego go in and get the door locked faster, probably because they flew once, when they were brought to the group home, although we've never understood why they were taken from San Diego to New Hampshire, but we're very glad they were.

They turn to each other, grab each other and just hug... and cry for a bit. They're both so relieved that their dads apparently don't hate them... for this. It's like a huge burden just lifted off of them.

Diego says to his twin and lover, "Daniel, our... dads really don't seem to hate us for this. I really hope it's not a problem... but let's be careful... just until we're sure. Knowing we have sex... might not be the same... as knowing how we feel about each other," and Daniel nods. And then kisses the only person on the planet that he loves more than his dads and brothers at the moment.

It takes a while to let go of enough pent up stress to enjoy the moment, but they do. Daniel gets on his knees in front of this twin, thinking about how many times they've done this with no idea of what would happen to them. But this time it all seems different.

It's almost unbelievable that their lives have gone from having no idea of what would happen to them, to having a family. And an amazing family at that. Dads and Michael, that they'd not even met three days ago. And Luke and Steve, who they never thought they'd get to share a life with.

It's all been so stressful, and as much as they want to believe it's all great, they've learned to never say too much too quickly. They've learned to be very cautious. But they are certainly more hopeful than they've ever been.

And for right now, ready to make up for many days of no intimacy because of all the stress.

Daniel looks up into Diego's eyes, feeling nothing but love and hope, for the first time ever in their lives. As much as they loved their parents, and still do, they knew their lives would always be one of hiding and running. This feels so much better. Not that it helps their guilt for thinking that.

So, it's with these thoughts, with this hope, that they enjoy one of their hottest times ever together. And without a doubt, their weirdest time together. Ever. Never would they have thought they'd have sex with their new dads and Michael sitting just feet away. Along with their new brothers. Waiting for them to... finish.

But damn does it feel good.

They're gone about 15 minutes or so, and finally get the nerve to come back out.

Everybody expects them to hightail it to their seats, avoiding looking directly at anybody. And they almost do, but as they pass dad Kevin they both have a need to stop and hug him, longer than they've dared to at this point. And they both whisper 'Thank you' in his ear.

Dad Kevin just whispers "You're welcome sons, and we love you both," and feels much better about putting the boys thru all of this. And even leans over and kisses them on the cheek.

By mutual agreement, none of us say anything. We just want it to feel normal for them. Well, as normal as two people having sex in a plane lavatory ten feet from their dads and brothers can possibly feel.

They quickly go back to their iPads for movies or something.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

After a bit of getting back to 'normal', Alex says, "Oh guys, as soon as we have time, we'll take all of you to buy iPhones and iPads, and stuff."

He didn't want to say computers, because we're not sure they want or need both, just yet, but if they do, they'll get them. We'll certainly get at least one desktop computer for them to share, even if not laptops right now.

"REALLY?" they all kinda say at once.

I add, "YEP! Really," but I notice Luke has a very odd look on his face... and it doesn't look exactly happy, but I have no idea why.

They're getting a little antsy anyway, and about that time the Captain announces that we're beginning our descent into Denver for refueling. And that we can get off the plane for 30 minutes if we wish. It'll be in the private jet airpark, not the main airport, so it'll be a lot less hectic.

=======================================================

Denver

We land, and get a tiny squeal from the boys and the tires when the tires hit the runway, but they're getting better.

The boys do want to get off and stretch their legs, which we all do. We give each of them $10 in case they want something. I think a couple raid the candy machines, but they all manage to make it back, not that we let them far out of our sight at any time. Hey, we're new at this.

All back aboard the Captain gives his usual update about the flight, and tells Michael to get everything battened down for takeoff. With all the boys buckled in, and no squeal this time, we head for home again. Still a few big eyes at all the `thunking' and `clanging', but no panic or wet pants.

This is going really well. Who knew?

- - - - -

We decide to change up the seating a little. The boys are wearing out the swivels enjoying the individual seats, so Alex and I each take one of the loveseats at the end where the boys are seated in the other four seats. That'll let the two seated behind come over and sit with each of us, if they want to. They do.

Luke comes and sits down beside me. He looks a little down. I'd already noticed he was being unusually quiet. I just figured he's nervous about the plane or getting to his new home.

He kinda leans into me a little and puts his head on my shoulder. I'm NOT gonna cry. I put my arm around him as best I can while sitting, and pull him in a little. He looks up at me, but he's sad, or worried, with wet eyes. I ask him what's wrong.

"Dad, I'm not sure you're going to want me as your kid," he says very quietly, which almost makes my heart completely break... and makes me immediately start leaking.

"Luke, son... why would you say that. We're all so incredibly happy that ALL of you guys agreed to let us be your dads. What would ever make you think that? Luke, please tell me."

I said that low enough that I THOUGHT no one else could hear.

He looks up with wet eyes, "Dad, I lived in a mobile home. My parents were drunks. My father killed my mother. I've never had anything in my life. You guys fly around in private planes. You're going to buy us stuff. You're rich. I don't know anything about any of this," and he just starts crying more.

Oh damn, what were we thinking? This isn't going at all the way we hoped it would. Ok, now I'm crying too.

I hug him tight and barely manage to say, "Luke, son, please, please believe me. That doesn't make ANY difference at all, to any of us... Luke, I grew up poorer than you did, I promise. My parents were both drunks too. They divorced when I was just a little over a year old. Luke, my father and my mother both TRIED to kill each other every time they got drunk, which was a LOT. I'm not kidding, Luke. Some relative would come and get me when they started fighting, and keep me until it was all over. One of them would usually end up in jail, and the other one would end up in the emergency room.

"We had absolutely nothing Luke. My father could never keep a job because he was drunk half the time. Luke, we couldn't even afford to live in a mobile home," which gets really big eyes from him.

"Luke, I'm going to tell you something that I've never told ANYBODY except Alex before, because it embarrasses me... a lot," looking over to Alex, to see if he's going to object... but, I'm sure he won't... he never does, even when he should.

Continuing about as shakily as Luke, "He already knows what I'm going to say. I've never even told Michael. Luke, I never even lived in a house with an indoor bathroom in it son, until I went to college. Until then it was always outhouses. I promise you Luke. None of that matters, none of it, not to any of us."

I say that without realizing that it was suddenly very quiet. I look up and notice all the boys staring at me, with their mouths kinda open, including Alex and Michael. Well, crap. This is not how I intended this to go.

"Dad, really? Is that true?" Luke wants to know.

Well, we DID offer to answer any of their questions, no matter how embarrassing.

"Yes son it's all true. Look guys, let's talk about this for a bit, if that's ok," I say loud enough for everybody to hear, although they had obviously already heard everything anyway. They all kinda put their tablets down, still looking a little concerned.

"Guys, we don't fly around in private jets, hardly ever. We did this for you guys. We thought it would be something you'd really enjoy. We wanted, honestly, to make the trip to YOUR new home as special for you as we could (more damn tears).

"Guys, we knew it would be hard for you, leaving where you were, leaving your friends, leaving the people you trusted. We just wanted to do something special for you guys. Something memorable... we will always do anything we can for you boys... always.

"Sons, we've all three worked all our lives. We made pretty good money in our jobs. Your `dad Alex' is very good at managing our money. Thanks to him we invested our money very well. In addition to our jobs, we bought some apartments that we fixed up back in North Carolina, and we bought and fixed up a few houses to sell, there and in Palm Springs.

"Guys, we have enough money now to do things like this, sometimes, but we don't do it very often guys. We'll all take some nice vacations together. We would love to take you all to Germany some time, and show you why we love Germany as much as we do. We will do lots of things together, we promise."

Taking a deep breath and barely continuing,

"But guys, it's not about the money at all. We have enough money to promise you all that you'll all be able to go to any college or university you want to go to... if your grades will get you in. We have a nice comfortable house. We'll get a bigger car... thanks to you guys (which at least gets a few giggles). But sons, this is all about you, not about us trying to show off how much money we have. We promise guys. We love you guys with all of our hearts... all of us... all of you. We promise. It has NOTHING to do with money."

Kevin takes a big sigh and continues, "Guys, please trust me. My early life sucked. So, none of you have to worry about anything like that, ever."

Steve asks with tears, "Dads... you really just did this for us? Really?"

"Yes son... we did, but not to impress you. We wanted to do something really special for you guys. We really do want your first memories of coming to your new home to be special... did it work?" I ask with the biggest showing my teeth grin I can muster...

That gets a really big "YES" and everybody a big group hug. Even Luke looks happier... at least a little. I even get a very little smile out of him.

But, before he gets away, Luke gets the biggest, tightest, longest hug I'd dared to give him to this point. He even gets a kiss on his forehead. I'd never dared to do that either. And he looks much happier.

And then I let my stupid mouth get me in really BIG TROUBLE.

"Guys, I'll let you in on a little secret. Even `dad Alex' and Michael don't know this (which gets worried looks from both of them). I've been kinda writing a story that's kinda about my early life. I thought if I ever get it finished, I might post it on a gay story site. If you ever want to, I'll let you guys read it, if Alex and Michael agree. It has a little mild sex, and some... uhhh... bad words in it, but I can probably go thru and take those things out.

"NO! You said you'd never lie to us, so we think we should get to read it with those things in it!", Luke says, smiling pretty big, while looking at the others for support.

"Looks like Luke's feeling better!", Michael can't resist, which gets a round of laughs and causes Luke to blush bigly.

Alex, looking a little concerned, asks "How much sex and bad words are there? And, when were you planning on telling us?"

Laughing a little I say, "Not a lot. This first story is only a little ways done, it'll end the summer before college... so, nothing too serious. And possibly never, as far as telling you! (laughs) I honestly didn't think I'd ever get more than one sentence written. I think I'm up to about chapter 4 or so now."

Alex says, "Michael, what do you think. I don't guess I see much harm in it. But sons, are you sure you want to read about `dad Kevins' sex life? Really?" which gets a few nervous giggles from the boys.

Michael says he doesn't have any problems with it. Of course, that's probably because if we weren't to the Palm Springs part yet, there would be nothing about him in there with us.

The boys all look a little unsure what to say. "Guys, it's nothing at this point other than how my father walked out of my life and dumped me on his mother, my grandmother. It has a little about discovering the joys of jerking off... maybe my first blow job... anything else happens later in the story, but guys, if you don't want to ever know about those things... trust me, I get it. Reading ANYTHING about MY PARENTS sex life... oh, gawd, shoot me now!"

They all laugh, but if four boys could die from embarrassment, these four would have. This is going well.

"How about this? The first THREE chapters don't contain much sex or bad words at all, just about how screwed up my life and family were. You can just read those three if you want to... and then nothing else. You can each decide for yourselves, and trust me, I'm not pushing you to do this."

They look at each other, and then to nobody's surprise, Luke says, "I want to."

"Ok, how about this? Read just the first chapter, the Prologue... that kinda gives a little information about the story... but no sex or anything. After you finish that, we can talk about it if you want. You can quit reading anytime you want. Or, if you want, after we talk, you can keep reading a little."

I reach down and get my iPad. We use Apple's cloud service that lets us share files on any device. I navigate to the section of where the story is downloaded, select the file "00 - The High Shoals Chronicles-Prologue" and open it and hand the iPad to Luke. He slowly takes it, and looking nervous starts reading. Pretty soon, four heads are all trying to read the screen.

I move back to the other seat, and the boys all cram onto the couch. Luke slides down to the floor in front of it so the others can read over his shoulder.

Alex asks if they want to use his, as does Michael, but I point out that I have downloaded it only on mine. And that can't be done at this point on theirs without internet access.

So they start reading. Alex is `surprised' that I'd done this and not told him. I explain that I really just did it because of a story I read. I was bored. I needed some distraction from worrying myself stupid over possibly adopting these guys. I wondered if I could actually write anything that anybody might be interested in reading. I explain to both of them, Michael's sitting in the seat beside me, that I would certainly have told them before ever putting it online.

There are a few giggles coming out of the boys once in a while. They get to one point and Luke reads out loud, `a southern mostly-educated redneck hillbilly', which gets Alex's and Michael's attention. They just look at me and laugh and shake their heads. I just smile at them and shrug. If they want to know, they're going to have to read. I'm not making it that easy.

A little later Luke asks, "Dad, what does W-T-F mean?" looking at me.

Oh crap, "Well, that stands for... no. Before I say this... NONE OF YOU (wagging my finger wildly at them while laughing... which makes them laugh too) get to use bad words, at least not often, OK? SO, if you read this and see a word you shouldn't use... then don't. Agreed? Do we have a deal?"

Luke, being Luke, says with a big smile, "You know we know bad words don't you?"

"Yes sons, we know. And we know you're going to use them, especially when you think you can get away with it (everybody laughs). We just don't want you using them all the time please. Or, even much. Guys, we get it. It sounds `grown up' to use words like `fuck'. But guys, it also gives people an impression of you that might not be very good. If they hear you say things like that often, it's not going to make them respect you at all." I had already decided that I'm not going to beat around the bush with them... to a point.

The boys all look a little thoughtful. That's good right? Leave it to Luke.

"How often can we use words like `fuck'?" which gets a nervous laugh, and not just from the boys... me too!

Still laughing, "I'll be honest guys. I TRY to not use them at all. You should too. I DO use them, sometimes, when I get really mad or frustrated with something. Your `dad Alex' and Michael are both much better at NOT using them than I am. But, knowing that at least some of you guys might be coming back with us, I've been trying to use them a lot less. How's that?"

"Dads and Michael, I don't think any of us use bad words much. I don't think it sounds good either," Diego adds.

"Good son, you're right. It doesn't, and I'm trying to stop. But, to answer your question guys, W-T-F stands for `What The Fuck'. Happy now?" which gets a few laughs.

They keep reading. We hear a few giggles here and there. They finish and then Luke reads the last line of the Prologue out loud,

"This story, however, I guess, should begin where my old life abruptly ended... a small southern red-clay-infested `mill town' of about 600 people, when the mill was actually running, in what I thought at the time must surely be the GROIN of the world... and, at the time, how sad is it that I had no earthly idea how much FUN groins would come to be!"

Which gets snickers, even from Alex and Michael too. I'm proud of that line. The boys all giggle enough when they read it, apparently they like it too. Although, they probably only giggle because of the word 'groin'.

Luke says, "Dad, that's really good. What is that about `the sex curling your toes, after you move to Palm Springs'?"

"Oh crap, I forgot about that," which gets a few laughs. "Well, that part isn't written yet, and if it ever is, it'll be all fiction. Made up. And you will NEVER read it! Clear?"

Luke of course says, "That's not fair..."

"Sadly nobody ever said life is fair, kiddo... (reaching over to hug him). How about this? We'll see. Right now I doubt that this part of the story will ever be finished, much less `college', then `after college', then `Palm Springs'... so, I think it's pretty safe to say it's nothing to worry about. If I ever DO finish the story, you'll all probably be at least thirty years old anyway and can read what you want. I may have to change that line in the story about `toe curling', however," which gets a few laughs.

I give in and let them read the first three chapters. I won't repeat all that here. There's one point where they all gasp with a few `OH NO's... I know exactly what that's about, so I ask, "Puppies?". They all nod with moist eyes.

"Yeah, that was true, unfortunately," which gets a lot of even sadder eyes.

There was one other point where they ask about my `kinda sorta twin step brothers'... they weren't really, the story explains it. I just say, "Yeah. That's also true. It'll be explained in the first three chapters. I'll warn you... really warn you guys... it doesn't have a happy ending."

"Oks" are heard.

I almost decided that I would go in and delete what happened to them... before they could read it. But that really would be unfair... I guess. And what happened to one of them, at the hand of the other, is a very important lesson about what can happen if parents are careless.

They read... and read... The chapters aren't very long, but long enough that it takes a while. There are a few comments along the way, like "EEEWWWW, catfish sound yucky".

They ARE yucky, trust me.

They finally all finish... and they all come over with teary eyes and hug me and tell me they're sorry for what I had to go thru. Luke, especially, gives me a big hug and says, "Wow, dad. I'm sorry... that sounds terrible. Your family sounds as bad as mine," which is actually the exact reason I wanted them, especially Luke, to read it.

"It was bad son, but so was what you had to deal with. What ALL of you have had to deal with."

Steve asks, "Dad, was what you said about... was it Ricky or Randy? Was that true?"

I take a very deep breath, trying to figure out what to say here, and how to not cry.

But eventually, "Yes sons... that was true. They were twin brothers, probably about 11 or 12, about a year older than me... they were in their house one day and they found their father's gun. One of them just picked it up... it went off and killed his twin brother. The other brother and his family... disappeared after that. But it has always made me worry about what happened to him. That would have been so horrible to have to live with. I really hope he found a way... it was just an accident... but damn!"

I look up and it's not just the boys that have tears.

I had forgotten that was there, "Guys, I'm so sorry. I totally forgot about that. I would have removed that before you could read it... but sons, it's a very important lesson about being very, very careful around guns," which gets some nodding to go with their tears.

The `step brother' reference was explained in the story. It was because their mother was my father's first wife. They had divorced before Ricky and Randy or I were born, and they both remarried... As far as I know they were not my actual half-brothers, but I never knew my father had been married before that happened either, except to my mother... so who the hell knows.

I also came to find out about several other illegitimate children my father 'sired', if you can call it that. The twins were about a year or so older than me, so... Maybe we were half brothers. Who knows?

Both my parents were married three times, they were both each other's second mistake. Family values my gay ass.

But I want to finish my point about my life, "Guys, you know what. As far as how hard my life was... except what happened to Randy and Ricky... I'm actually glad I had to go thru all that," which gets a lot of surprised looks... and not just from the boys.

I explain, "Guys, if my life had been really, really easy, I wouldn't appreciate what I have now. I would have taken all that for granted. Sons, I had to work really hard to get TO college, much less get thru college. I'm the first and only one in my family, as far as I know, to ever go to college... and I didn't get any help from my father or anybody else to pay for it. I had to work and I had student loans, and fortunately a scholarship because my grades were really good.

"But guys, if I hadn't gone to college, I would never have met your dad (motioning toward Alex), and we wouldn't have met Michael (motioning toward Michael). Which means we wouldn't have been together to adopt you guys.

"So guys we know you've ALL had a hard time so far yourselves. A terrible time honestly. We know. But, please sons, don't ever let that make you give up. Let it make you more determined than ever to have a better life than you started with. It did me. It did all of us. None of the three of us had an easy life guys, but we survived it. We learned from it. And, it made all of us want to help ALL of YOU have a much better life than we did... I promise!"

Okay, bad choice of what to say. We get mobbed by four weeping boys, who refuse to let go for a while... not that we want them to let go... ever. And when they finally do, I honestly think they have a little better feeling for why we adopted them. And I hope, we all hope, that it makes them feel at least a little better about losing their own parents. We hope.

Just then we hear something behind us, turn around and the Captain is standing there, looking a little embarrassed.

"Hello gentlemen, and young gentlemen. Sorry to... intrude."

Michael, who's sitting near us and being hugged by a couple teary boys, looks like he'd seen a ghost, "Captain. I didn't hear you call, I'm sorry."

The Captain smiles and walks over and puts his hand... kinda lovingly actually... on Michael's shoulder and says, "I didn't Michael, no problem. I just wanted to stretch my legs and grab some coffee. And, I wanted to tell these young men that the cockpit door will be open, and Michael can bring you in, one-at-a-time, and we'll give you a quick tour."

His offer certainly gets an excited `yes sir' from all the boys.

Personally I'm thinking that the Captain is hot as hell and I wouldn't mind him putting a few of his body parts on me either. I'm not much into uniforms, but this man, in this uniform, I wouldn't object at all. No, No, No... I can't do that anymore. Damn this is hard. Literally.

Leave it to Luke, who asks somewhat panicked, "Who's flying the plane?"

"Don't worry, the First Officer has everything under control. But I'd better get back," the Captain says with a chuckle.

The captain goes to get his coffee and goes back to the cockpit, leaving the door open behind him.

Luke, being Luke, "Dad, are you going to write about us?"

"Well, son, who says I haven't already started?" I couldn't resist, which gets a lot of worried looks. "But, I think it'll be a long time before I know enough to write about you, about all of us. We'll see, but it won't happen anytime soon."

So fortunately, thanks to the cockpit tour, they forget about my life for a while. I wonder if Michael co-ordinated the timing with the Captain. Nah, probably just being paranoid.

The boys are taken in, one at a time, for a `tour' of the cockpit. Luke and Steve insist that Daniel and Diego go first.

It isn't much of a tour, they basically go into the cockpit about a foot or two, standing in front of Michael while the Captain and First Officer point out a few of the instruments, and let the boys see everything.

I think what impressed them the most was actually just the view out of the cockpit windows, and they haven't stopped talking about it yet.

Thankfully, Michael saves the day, "Guys, how about ice cream? You can even have a Sunday," which certainly gets their attention.

After the cockpit tour, and the ice cream, the boys pretty much settle down on the sofas, looking out the windows, and snuggled up with their security blanket, boyfriend or twin, and even something that simple is amazing because it shows they're getting more comfortable doing that around us.

I think the travel and long day is taking its' toll. I believe we have about an hour before we're home, if my calculation is right.

Good timing, because around 40 minutes later, the Captain comes on to announce, "Gentlemen, we will be beginning our descent into Palm Springs shortly. I'm turning the seatbelt sign back on, so please take your seats. I hope you have enjoyed your flight with us today. I'll speak with all of you once we land. Michael, please prepare the cabin for landing."

I can feel the mood of the boys change. It suddenly goes from being excited about the plane and the flight, to thinking about their `new home'. I think there is some worry about that. Not surprising I guess.

The boys all have their noses pressed as close to the glass as possible, `ooohhhing' and `aaahhhing' over whatever they're seeing out the window. There are several comments about how much sand or something they're seeing. Alex explains that Palm Springs is in a pretty big desert, which gets even more comments from the boys.

Michael finishes up what he needs to do, mostly picking up and stowing things around the cabin and in the galley. I retrieve my iPad and put it away - we each have a small carry-on bag, unlike the boys.

We're getting back a little after 2PM, so the boys can see everything before it gets dark at least. We're directed immediately to a landing slot, Palm Springs not usually having much delay on takeoffs and landings. A little squeal, from the boys and the tires, when the tires touch the runway, but they're getting better.

Private jets are serviced out of `Signature Air', which is located across the tarmac from the main airport. The jet lands and then taxies to the designated spot. After coming to a complete stop, we can hear things happening outside. A ding goes off and Michael gets up and does a few things, and then speaking on the phone, to the cockpit we assume, opens the jet door, which lowers the stairs.

Michael has Alex go down first, I'm sure to grab the boys and hold them still as soon as they get to the ground. The boys start going down the stairs. I hear somebody say how hot it is - it's not even really summer yet... and then how big that mountain is. It is, and very close to Palm Springs. We all make it down, Michael had already told us the Captain wants to speak to us before we leave, if possible.

The Captain comes down the stairs, and goes to the boys and hands them each a little box, and shakes their hands. He explains, "You each get your `golden wings', for flying with us today. (looking at Daniel and Diego) I understand you two guys have flown once before, but they didn't give you your wings. So you have all now officially flown for the first time. We hope you all enjoyed your flight with us today."

You would have thought they'd been given real gold. Nice touch by the Captain, although I guess it's something the company does for kids.

The Captain looks at the boys, then at the dads and Michael and turns to ask us, "Gentlemen. I know this is probably inappropriate, and I apologize if I'm overstepping, but my husband and I just adopted four boys several months ago. We live close to LA, but they're here to pick me up. I was wondering if I could maybe introduce you and your boys to them. They're having a little trouble adjusting to us and LA, and I thought it might do them good to meet your boys."

If the Captain thinks he said that quietly enough that the boys wouldn't hear, he's wrong. So immediately, there are lots of "Where are they?" So, I guess that's a yes. We shrug and chuckle. Smiling, the Captain leads us inside the terminal.

Once inside we see two very handsome men standing off to the side with four boys, who all look to be about the same age as our sons, about twelve.

Boys, I guess, will be boys. They immediately go sprinting over to the group and immediately start talking to the boys, who after about 10 seconds of wondering what's going on, give in. Fortunately, the two men standing with them come over our way to escape the excitement.

They walk up and introduce themselves as Jared Turner, the Captains Spouse, and Corey Taylor, their `live-in companion' and `big brother' to the boys. Sounds familiar. Hmmmm...

Michael and Corey seem to immediately take a keen interest in getting to know each other. They walk off to commune with nature, or something. And damn, is Corey hot. He has dark hair and eyes like Michael and Steve and Diego and Daniel, within an inch of Michael's height, but a little more defined... damn. Stop that!

The Captain and his spouse and Alex and I are left to talk. It starts by us noticing the puzzled look on Jared's and Captain Andrew's faces. They have something akin to a frown, so we ask if everything is all right.

They turn to us and Jared says, "Damn. This is the first time in two months that the boys have shown any interest in anything. Even us. What's going on?"

The Captain chuckles and explains to Jared that he had overheard us talking with the boys on the plane and how well we were getting along with them and communicating with them, and thought it would be good for the boys to meet. He goes on to explain that we had JUST, days ago, met and adopted our boys. Jared looks surprised, to say the least.

The Captain then says to us, "Gentlemen, I apologize for overhearing a bit of your conversation. I had come out to invite the boys to take a cockpit tour. Michael had told me that you had just adopted the boys -- just days ago.

"I came out just as you were consoling one of the boys. I didn't hear much of the conversation, but none of the three of us have had anywhere near that good of a connection with any of our boys... and then all the boys came over to hug you (pointing at Kevin). We're not sure what we're doing wrong."

"Captain, I promise you. I've been a complete basket case since this whole final visit started. I was scared to death that the boys hated us before we even met them. We all have just tried to talk to them, and be there for them," I say.

Alex just has to chime in, "Captain, don't believe it. Kevin has some way of talking with these boys that I certainly don't have. Michael has said the same thing. We don't know what it is, but they can relate to him better than us."

Giving Alex my best dirty look, "Oh, come off it. You know that's not true. I just run my mouth more than either of you. (a few laughs) Guys, I just try to pay attention to what's bothering them. I don't really know why they seem to relate to me, but I'm certainly not complaining about it," I say looking at the Captain and Jared.

I figure I'm so going to regret this, but I have an idea... maybe not a good idea, but WTF, don't tell Luke,

"Captain and Jared. We don't live far from here. Why don't you guys come back with us for a while and let the boys get to know each other a little. But, we have to warn you. Our neighbors behind us, who also adopted four boys a couple months ago, are waiting for us at home. They'll be inside our house actually. I texted them as soon as we landed. Their boys are going to jump out and surprise our boys when they come thru the door. Let's give THEM a little surprise. There'll be EIGHT boys, instead of four. We'll hold back and let them sort it out. Should be fun, right? But don't tell them, ok?" I asked.

The Captain and Jared both laugh and then the Captain says, "Well, first, I think first names are in order. I'm Ken, Ken Andrews. This is my husband, obviously, Jared Turner. That (pointing to Corey who is standing very close to Michael, talking) is Corey Taylor, who... uh... has lived with us 6 years, and takes care of the house, the boys and us."

We both introduce ourselves, giving our first and last names, for us and Michael. We also explain that Michael has ...uh, lived with us for almost six years, and takes care of the house, the boys, and us. Hmmmm... nobody says anything but we kinda all look at each other... knowingly.

Something occurs to Ken, who says, "But, wait. You adopted four boys, we adopted four boys, and your neighbors also adopted four boys. That's a pretty weird coincidence isn't it?"

Just about that moment all eight boys come over noisily, eager to ask us something... good timing apparently.

"Dads can we invite our new friends to come by and visit... and... uh... spend the night? We know we haven't even seen our new house yet, but... can we?" and this from Luke. No surprise there.

After all of us finish laughing out loud, including Michael and Corey, who had joined us, the boys are looking a little irritated that we're all laughing at them.

"Dads, that's not funny... we're serious," which of course makes us laugh harder, which makes Luke especially even unhappier.

Not wanting them to be hurt I hug Luke and say, "Guys, we're not laughing at you, I promise. Sorry, you're not going to believe me, but we just asked the same thing. Well, at least about the visit, but honestly guys, (looking at the three adults) we have a guest house with one King bed, and at least two other free bedrooms... the boys will double up anyway. And we can come up with another bedroom if needed," meaning Michael's, I say a little hesitantly.

I'm REALLY hoping Luke won't pipe up and say, `they sleep together anyway' while pointing to us and Michael.

Plus, at the moment, I think it might be Michael and Corey sharing a bed, but can't exactly say that out loud either. Damn this is hard.

"Well," Jared says, "how about... let's start with the visit, and we'll see about spending the night. We didn't bring any clothes, or toothbrushes, or things to sleep in, so...."

I just knew I could count on Luke, "We already admitted we all sleep naked, so no problem with things to sleep in."

Now we're the ones blushing. Fortunately everybody laughs pretty good.

Alex, looking like he's going to pee himself, looks directly at me and says, "YOU wanted kids!"

Another rounds of laughs, but the boys aren't sure whether to laugh or not, and look hurt.

"YES! I did. And so did both of you, so don't make the boys think you didn't! And Ken, you know what you were saying about adopting four? We actually went for two, but they were having a SPECIAL and threw in two extra!" I was sure I wouldn't get away with that, and I didn't.

"Daaaaddddd, that's not nice!" says one of the `extras'.

"You know I'm just kidding," while hugging him tight, and at least he's laughing.

"Actually, what happened is... this one, Luke, decided we were going to adopt his brothers too," which gets the same reaction from Luke... "Daaaaaadddddd!"

"Whaaaaatttt? You were right weren't you? And it was a wonderful idea... thank you for suggesting it," which gets a few laughs, and a hug from Luke and the two `extras'.

We quickly get introduced to the four fine looking new boys, Aiden, Kurt, Nick and Sam. All twelve years old, all about the same height range as our four. First quick impressions, Nick is the most outgoing and Aiden is the quietest. I'm never going to remember which is which. I gotta find some name tags.

"It's very nice to meet you guys... But, our first problem is, we have more people than seats in our SUV. We thought we were coming back with two, and our car only has five seats... SO," I say.

Corey quickly volunteers, "We have one extra seat. Michael, if you want to ride with us, you can show us the way," to which he happily agrees. I wonder if they had that planned? Nah, probably not.

"That'll help. Boys, I know it's not really allowed, but will one of you maybe ride in the back... we'll get another car as soon as possible. I promise."

Daniel volunteers, "No problem. I've done that before," and sadly I believe he probably has. We could call UBER or something, but we only have a short trip home. PLEASE, no accidents.

As everybody starts heading for the two SUVs, I grab Michael and tell him quietly not to go in when they get there, that J&J behind us are there with their boys, to surprise ours. He gets a wicked grin.

We find and load our luggage before anybody runs off.

It ends up being too tight to let Daniel get in the back, once we get all the luggage in. We slide the front seats forward as far as they will go, and the boys are able to fit Daniel in the seat with Diego, both under the same seatbelt. Not exactly legal, but I survived much worse as a kid... but not exactly a good example to set for the boys. Sorry.

SO.

Welcome Home Boys.
