In 1989, the most dangerous STDs were Syphilis and Gonorrhea, which could be cured by penicillin, or the new antibiotics. Condoms were not needed for gay sex, thus unprotected sex was common practice. Please send a contribution to NIFTY to keep this site up and free. Young Jefferson was bright! He was very bright! He was so bright that he got a full scholarship, tuition, room and board, to Columbia University in New York City. He was in fact, of genius level. His father, Daniel, drove him into Omaha to get a plane to New York City! On the drive to Omaha, Daniel came clean and told Jefferson of what happened in Vietnam. He confessed that he was not young Jefferson's biological father, but did consider himself Jefferson's Dad. (Jefferson knew that their family was strange as his mother slept alone, and Daniel slept with Richard. He had never mentioned it at school.) Daniel gave young Jefferson the address of Tom and Jeff in New York City. Young Jefferson arrived in New York City. He registered at college, moved into his dorm room, and opened a local bank account. He got a "subway" map and quickly oriented himself. He located all the important buildings in his college. He attended Freshman Orientation. Classes would not begin for several days, so he played tourist. He saw all the major Tourist Attractions of New York City including a visit to the Statue of Liberty and the top of the Empire State Building! He was amazed by how expensive everything was! He then considered if he wanted to meet his biological father. The question obsessed him. Finally, he decided to meet him. He went to the address on the holiday card. He found himself in the Village, in front of a "brownstone". The ground floor was a store front, and above were several apartments. The ground floor storefront was a photographic studio. He stayed outside working up his courage. After several minutes of stalling, he went inside. Upon opening the door, a bell rang. Young Jefferson found himself in an area that was like an art gallery! The walls were covered with large prints of various photo-portraits. As he walked around, a man came out of the door marked "Lounge." The man stayed behind the counter and looked at the young man. He stared for several moments then said: "Your name is Nutley and your from Nebraska!" Young Jefferson was flabbergasted and exclaimed: "How did you know?" The man behind the counter started to laugh. He then called out: "I predicted it, and I think it is funny." he called out: "Jeff, there is someone here to see you." The man continued to laugh as another man came out of the Lounge. He took one look at the young man, and stopped in his tracks! Genes are funny things. They combine in different combinations and no two people are the same. Each (with the possible exception of "Identical Twins") is unique. Sometimes they come out in the next generation, sometimes they hide for years. Tom had gone to photo school with a girl from Switzerland. She had straight black hair, slanted eyes, and white-white skin. It seems that when Atilla the Hun invaded Switzerland, one of his soldiers had raped one of her ancestors. The genes had been hidden for over 1000 years, and came out in her: and NO! Her mother had not cheated on her husband. Tom looked at the two men. The one was a younger version of the other! Except for age, they were identical. The two just stared at each other. Finally. Young Jefferson said: "My name is Jefferson Davis Nutley and I think you are my biological father!" After a few moments, Jeff answered: "My name is Jefferson Davis and I think you are my biological son!" The two continued to stare at each other. The moment was getting awkward! Tom decided to end it. He said: "Lets go into the lounge and talk" He raised the section of the counter that was the door, and escorted Young Jefferson into the back room. Jeff followed. In the lounge, Jeff and Tom sat on the couch. Opposite the couch was an upholstered chair, in which young Jefferson sat. There was a moment of silence, then Jeff asked Jefferson: "What do we call you?" Young Jefferson said: "My full name is Jefferson, but I answer to Jeff. My father mentioned someone named John." Tom said: "We haven't seen John in years. When I had my first exhibit, he came down to congratulate me. We haven't seen him since!" Jeff asked: "What do you want from us?" Young Jefferson said: "Nothing! I am here because of curiosity! I wanted to meet you! After all I am named for you!" Jeff said: "I never expected to have a son. I knew that Daniel would be a good father! If Daniel told you about what happened in Vietnam, you know about homosexuality. Are you straight, gay, bisexual or versatile?" Young Jefferson said: "I don't know! I am still a virgin!' Jeff then asked: "Which turns you on, guys or gals?" Jefferson answered: "Both! I have not yet settled on an orientation. I don't know what I am!" Jeff then replied: "If you want to discover what it means to be gay, come to us! We will introduce you to homosexuality in a setting where you will not be hurt!" Silence returned to the lounge. Tom took advantage of the silence to get up. He went to a filing cabinet in the corner of the room. He opened a draw and started looking for something! Jeff asked Jefferson: "How are your brothers and sister?" Jefferson relaxed and answered: "They're fine. Steve is helping my Dad and Uncle Richard run the farm. Mark is working on his doctorate. He is working on crops that don't require much water. He replumbed the main house and the Hired Hands House. The showers and the sinks drain into a storage tank, passing through several filters, and this "Grey" water is used to flush the toilets. We are using about ½ the water we used to. Amelia is like her mother. All she wants is to be a farm wife. She is dating the boy on the farm down our road. Dorthy is aging gracefully and is happy trying to run our lives. She has not succeeded, but she won't give up!" At that point Tom found what he was looking for. He handed an 8" by 10" glossy print to young Jefferson. Jefferson looked at the print and said: "I never had a camera like that. How did you get this photo of me ?" Tom answered: "That is a picture of Jeff in Bangkok, in 1967. Yes, you do look like your biological father!" Jeff addressed Jefferson and said: "Please remember that we are here for you. If you need something or have questions, we are here! I had nothing to do with your growing up, but, now that I know of your existence, I do feel some responsibility for you." They, all three, stood. They walked back into the showroom. Jeff said: "If you need anything, remember we are here!" Young Jefferson stopped and addressed Jeff: "It has been an interesting experience, meeting you." It was another awkward moment! Hesitantly, Jeff put his arms around Jefferson and hugged him. Jefferson went out the door. Jeff turned to Tom and asked: "Well, what do You think?" Tom answered: "I think it is funny! Remember, I predicted it. Your son is a very sexy young man." Jeff exclaimed: "What" Tom said: "Relax! He only turns me on because he looks like you did a long time ago, in Vietnam." Jeff answered: "I hadn't noted that he was sexy as he is my son." Tom asked: "If the opportunity arose, would you sleep with him?" Jeff answered: "I don't think I am ready for that!' Tom said: "Well, I could!" Jeff's mouth dropped open. Tom noticed and said: "It would be like getting in a time machine. He looks like you did 20 odd years ago! That is the only reason he turns me on. It would be like being with you! If the situation does come up, I will take the lead. We will see what happens."
