Blake's Saga

Book IV – Chapter 6

Unforgivable

Today is just going to be a strange day; the type of Wednesday that feels like thousands of Mondays. Trace is home with some form of virus that everyone else in the house is hoping will not strike them. Trace is eager to kick the virus. For Ian and Blake, the school day is just about to begin. Another mile left in their commute and then they will be ready to arrive at school. There is something about this commute that Blake secretly loves. His dad doesn't know it though. The secret is that he enjoys spending a part of the morning with Ian. For as much as Blake loves riding with his dad, there is something about this morning that just makes him want to crawl back into bed. Trace being sick isn't the reason for him wanting to be home. He just can't put a finger on it though.

"Hey Dad, I want a reset button for this morning. I just have an odd feeling about today. Can I fake being sick for today?"

Blake asks, already knowing what his dad's response is going to be.

"Unless, you are throwing up your breakfast, hacking up green stuff, have mystery rash, having nasty stomach cramps, so you are going to school; no ditching in this family."

Another thing that Blake likes about the commute is hat Ian plays Blake's playlist, and they jam together. I suppose it could be distracting, but it's their thing, so who's going to stop them. Sure, Trace's co-worker could have some say in their duets, but no one has stopped them yet, so it's all good.

***

The morning hasn't been that bad so far maybe, Blake's butterflies were wrong this time. There is still forth hour to go though, and it's Mr. Reyes today. With 4 months left of the school, they had to get a new teacher because Mr. White had to leave his position. His wife's father got sick suddenly, and she wanted to be nearby in case her mother needed her. He didn't want to leave, but there really wasn't a choice other than leaving his wife. By some twist of fate, they were able to get Mr. Reyes almost immediately. There is just something a little off about him. There is just something a little off about him. Blake isn't the only one to notice, Ian has noticed, and he's made it known to Trace on a couple of occasions. No one can put a finger on his weirdness though. He's finally in a position where he can make a difference. Today, Mr. Reyes' classes have a quiz, so he's passing them out. During the exam, he sits back at his desk and monitors the test. But his eyes spent more time on other students, and it isn't completely unnoticed. All the kids seem to think that this guy is out to get someone. It isn't that he has his eyes on all the kids, just certain kids. When Blake is done with his quiz, he walks it up to Mr. Reyes, who has him wait up by the desk until he is done grading the quiz.

"Good job, Blake."

He says making sure to hand him the paper, so he can see that there is more on the quiz then just a grade and a percentage. As Blake walks back to his seat, he realizes that there is a note on the paper.

"Don't tell your daddy, but I want you to call me."

That is all the note says, but it sends chills down his back. Good thing, the bell is about to ring, and that means he can go to lunch, see his dad, and Ms. Browning.

"Think about it, Blake."

Mr. Reyes says to Blake as he walks out of the room. It really freaks him out, because it's clear what this authority figure is wanting. Blake escapes and goes down to the lunchroom with is quiz stashed in one of the pockets of his 5-subject notebook.

***

As Blake gets his lunch, he can't get Reyes' comment and message out of his mind. He was going to eat first but he can't, he simply cannot do it. Trembling a little, he walks into his dad's classroom. Ian is out of the room now, but he isn't gone too long. There has been a lot of drama in this young man's life in his first year with Ian and Trace and today adds just one more bit of drama into the mix. When his dad enters the room, he notices Blake has his head down in front of the lunch tray. Approaching his son, Ian puts his hands-on Blake's shoulders, which causes Blake to jump. Blake looks up to see his dad's face. Blake's eyes are red and wet.

"What's wrong, Blake?"

Ian asks as he sits down across from Blake.

"I...I...think-think, Mr. Reyes is a...predator. He...He..."

Ian's first reaction is to defend the teacher, but he seals his lips, so he can hear out his son. Plus, Blake doesn't usually respond this way. Blake can't get the words out so. Instead, he pulls out the quiz and hands it to his dad. The note is plain to see, and it stirs some anger in Ian's soul. Blake gets up and grabs a tissue and then wipes his eyes. Taking a deep breath, he sits back down in his chair and looks at his father.

"He looked...right at me as he gave me back my quiz, then as I was leaving, he told me to think about it, but not to tell you."

After seeing the note and hearing his son's emotions, he decides to waste no time.

"Come on, Blake, we have to make a phone call, and I don't want to do this from the classroom."

Blake and Ian walk down to the office, and when they get inside, they stand right in front of Ms. Hall. She can see the anger in Ian's face, and then fear and sadness in Blake's face. Without knowing what's wrong, she gets up right away and hugs Blake.

"What happened?"

It wasn't Blake who answered though.

"Mrs. Hall, I am sorry to bug you, but I have a serious issue that needs to be addressed with Mr. Stanford and Mr. DeSoto, but first I need to call the police."

She nods her head, but then looks towards the principal's offices and then back at Ian.

"Mr. Richards, can you tell me what happened?"

Ian is hesitant to tell her, but he decides to go ahead and do it.

"Blake was given this quiz back in his 4th-hour room with the staff member's phone number on it, and a freaking note that basically told Blake to call him but not to tell his daddy..."

Blake didn't want his dad to speak for him.

"He...he told me to think about it as I left the room."

She started to document the situation.

"Do you have the quiz?"

Blake pulls the quiz out of the place that he had it and hands it to her. She quickly makes a copy of it, and then gives Blake the original quiz. Ms. Hall motions to Blake and Ian and then walks them over to Mr. Stanford's office. She knocks on the door, announces them, and then goes back to get Mr. DeSoto.

"Sorry for intruding but I think you should see this?"

Mr. Stanford reads the note and then immediately looks at Ian.

"Are you calling the police?"

The principal asks as he looks at Ian.

"Yeah, I am calling."

Mr. Stanford can clearly see the quiz. The grade, the percentage, and the note are all written in the same handwriting. He realizes that Mr. Reyes is a potential predator and he can't be allowed to do this stuff again. Mr. Stanford and Mr. DeSoto are quietly talking just outside of the principal's office. Meanwhile, Ian is calling the police.

"Hello, Tylerville Police Station, how can I help you?"

Ian wastes zero time in answering the operator.

"My name is Ian Richard-Andrews, and I work at Tylerville East High School. My son received a note on his quiz from the teacher that is bad. He's asking my son to call him when my son was leaving the room, he mentioned that he should think about."

It's quiet for a second, and then she is back.

"Have you reported this to your building's principal?"

She is asking him to be sure that he has reported it.

"Yes, he is aware of the situation."

He answers the operator as Mr. Stanford and Mr. DeSoto enters the room.

"We need you to leave the office, we are going to call him..."

Ian looks at Mr. Stanford with a quick glance.

The principal thinks about it for a second.

"Better yet, we will use DeSoto's office. I don't want to interrupt the call."

Mr. DeSoto and Mr. Stanford leave the office and head into the other office.

"We are sending an officer out to your location. They will want to talk to everyone involved, including your son."

The lady on the phone says to let him know what's going on at their end.

"Yes, that is fine. They are bringing the teacher down to the main office."

"We are sending an officer to the school, and Mr. Andrews, you are free to go wait for the officer."

As he hangs up his phone, Ms. Hall walks into the room.

"Stanford is having me call Mr. Reyes down to the office, so you may want to stay in this office."

Ian raises his eyebrows to her comment.

"Can we find someone to sit with my classroom?"

She smiles at him.

"It's already done."

She smiles at him and then he disappears for a second and gives Blake a bottle of lemonade.

***

While they are in sitting in the office, Mr. Stanford gets on the p.a. system.

"I need Mr. Reyes to report immediately to Mr. DeSoto's office."

It never occurred to Mr. Reyes that maybe he should leave the building after hitting on the kids. He leaves the classroom and heads down to the office. For someone about to get arrested, he is utterly confident as he walks down the hallway. Using his keycard, he's able to enter the office without any trouble. Only Ms. Hall is sitting there as he walks by with a smile. She is trying not to look disgusted as he walks by her. He can see Blake and gives him a good stare, but Ian is right there giving him a nasty stare that says you had better get moving. He enters Mr. Desoto's room and sits down in the chair that Mr. Stanford pulls out for him to sit in for this little interview.

"Mr. Reyes, do you know why you've been called down to the office today?"

He simply shrugs his shoulders. He's acting like a defiant teenager.

"Honestly, I have no clue why you called me down to the office. I haven't done anything thing."

Mr. Stanford and Mr. DeSoto roll their eyes in disbelief. They can't believe that he literally has no idea why he's been called down for this little interview.

"I have a class to get back too, can we please get a move on with whatever this is, please."

Mr. DeSoto suddenly became even angrier.

"You are not going back to class."

Mr. Reyes looks quite upset by the comment by the vice-principal.

"Why?"

Mr. Stanford at this point is beyond mad at this guy, but he's trying hard to be professional.

"We have solid evidence that you gave your number to a student and propositioned him."

Mr. Reyes suddenly becomes very angry.

"I gave him my number so I could get him a tutor that ungrateful ass."

Mr. DeSoto brings up Blake's grades to verify if Blake needs any tutoring. Glancing at the screen he shares the information with Mr. Stanford.

"That is a load of crap, he doesn't need a tutor. His grades are good enough that he could be a tutor."

"I...I...guess, he wouldn't."

For the first time since coming down to the office, Mr. Reyes' seems short of confidence.

He doesn't want to give them any satisfaction of being able to pin anything on him.

"Look, I don't know who told you that I propositioned Blake, but I didn't. I didn't do anything wrong."

That is when they hand him a copy of the message from the quiz.

"Is this your handwriting?"

Mr. DeSoto says at Mr. Reyes glances over the quiz.

"Maybe the kid copied my handwriting to get me in trouble. We're done here."

At this point, Mr. Stanford texts Ms. Hall to see if the officers have arrived. He gets verification that yes, indeed the police are in the front office, so they don't stop Mr. Reyes from trying to leave the office.

***

As soon as Mr. Stanford opens the office door, two officers enter Mr. Stanford's office, preventing him from leaving the office.

"Here is a copy of the quiz."

He hands it over to one of the officers who has already spoken to Blake. Mr. Reyes would love to get his hands on this student who betrayed his trust.

"Why are the police here? I already told you that I didn't do anything?"

One of the officers glances over the quiz. He looks Mr. Reyes in the eyes and then speaks to him:

"You didn't do anything wrong? It sounds to me like you want this student to call you, and apparently, you don't want his father to know about it. So why would you; a grown man, to call you? Why would you then tell him to not tell his dad?"

Mr. Reyes was silent for a second or two.

"He asked for my number?"

Mr. DeSoto rolled his eyes. The officers saw him roll his eyes and took that as a sign that they had just been lied to by Mr. Reyes.

"You seem to know something that he's is keeping from us or hasn't told us. Do you mind sharing?"

The officer asked Mr. DeSoto about whatever Mr. Reyes is keeping from them.

"He told us that he wrote the note on the quiz so that he could get tutoring, but this student doesn't need any tutoring."

The officer doesn't like what he just heard from the vice principal.

"Sir, we have in your own handwriting; your phone number and a message for the student not to tell his dad about the phone number and or the phone call. I believe that you are trying to get with this kid. We can't have adults getting with minors. We need your driver's license now."

Mr. Reyes hands his license over, and the officers quickly call it into the station. In two minutes, they find out that he's basically clear except for a couple of restraining orders, which he refuses to explain why he's got the two of orders blocking him. They hand him back the driver's license, read him their rights, and then place handcuffs on him. During the interview by the principals up to the arrest, Ian was on the phone with Trace.

***

Ian has already placed the call to Trace, and we are getting ready to join that conversation.

"Honey, how is your day going?"

"Um...Babe, actually, I am sitting with our son in Mr. Stanford's office."

Trace is immediately worried about his son.

"Why are the two of you in Stanford's office?"

Trace heard about something happening up at the school on the scanner, but he was busy in other parts of the house and hasn't been listening to it the entire time. When he is off, he tries hard to ignore the scanner. If they need him badly, they will call him on his cell phone.

"Um...are you sure that you want to hear this?"

Ian says, hoping to have this discussion, but the cat is already out of the bag. He is starting to wonder if he should have called Trace.

"I asked you, didn't I?"

Trace responds with a question.

"Well, Blake got the phone number from that new teacher today. It was implied that he wanted something a favor from Blake."

Instantly, Trace's heart and stomach drop to his feet.

"Don't fuck with me Ian because this isn't funny. Fuck!"

Ian isn't faking, and Trace knows it.

"Trace, I am not messing with you. He literally wrote on the note on Blake's quiz. He gave Blake his number and wrote a message on the quiz telling him not to tell his daddy, and then he told him to "think about it.""

Trace is so mad right now that if it were possible steam would be leaving his ears. Mr. Reyes is lucky that Blake's other dad wasn't at the school and he's fortunate that he wasn't available to come to the school to arrest him.

"Where is that, that sicko now?"

Trace asks trying to make sure that Blake isn't around him.

"He is with Mr. Desoto and Mr. Stanford in DeSoto's office."

When Trace learns from Ian where the creep is at, his next mind focuses, and his mind is cleared a bit, he realizes he forgot to ask about his son.

"How is Blake?"

Blake isn't showing it, but he is shaking on the inside. The poor teenager is beside himself. Ian hands the phone over to their son.

"Hey, Dad."

Trace is worried about his son. Sadly, this isn't the first time that Blake has had a close encounter with a predator.

"How are you doing Blake?"

Trace is cringing.

"He...he...hit on me. He...he...wanted..."

Hearing his son's voice, Trace suddenly gets even angrier.

"Blake, I'm sorry buddy. Do I need to come down to the school? I'll be there in a second buddy."

Trace stays on the phone and heads out to the school. He's hoping to see this predator because he wants to have some words with him.

"Dad, I don't need you to come here, but I won't stop you."

Blake hands the phone back to his dad.

"Hey Sweetie, I take it you are on your way to the school?"

Ian asks Trace, wanting to know what's going on with his husband.

"Yeah, I am on my way to the school. I want to make sure that, this creep gets what is coming to him."

Ian is pretty sure that the police are going to be called.

"There is no doubt that they are going to arrest this guy."

Trace smiles at the thought of Mr. Reyes going to jail. When he arrives at the school, Trace is buzzed into the building, and Ms. Hall directs him into the office where Ian and Blake are sitting.

"Ian, how the hell does this guy get past the background check?"

Ian shrugs his shoulders.

"Trace, I honestly don't know. Maybe no one has reported him before, or this is his first time acting out."

Trace isn't sure if he should be mad at the school system or if he should hold his anger for the creep that made moves on his son. Apparently, this guy has lied to a whole bunch of people.

"I know one thing, he had better get fucking fired. He's messed with Blake, and I won't put up with it. Sorry for my language."

Trace says to everyone in the room.

"I'm sorry, Buddy."

Trace says as his hands wrap around his son.

"He's going away, Dad?"

Ian is the first to answer his son's question.

"Well, I just saw the police enter the office, so I am going to say that they are going to arrest him."

Ian speaks up after he looks out the window and into the office. Blake is so happy that Mr. Reyes is being arrested. In, he joins Ian at the door, hoping to watch them walk the guy out of the office. Trace is also watching his co-workers escort the predator out the door of the office. After the police leave with him, they can see Mr. Stanford approaching the phone. A few seconds later, he comes over the P.A. system.

"Sorry for the interruption again, but I just wanted to say that the lockdown is over. Thank you, everyone, for your cooperation. Students who would normally have Mr. Reyes for 5, 6, and 7th hour, you are to report to the library for the remainder of the school day."

He sets the phone down on the base and then walks away from it and heads towards his office.

***

Mr. Stanford walks into his office to find Trace, Ian, and Blake sitting near his desk. He sits at his desk, pleased that the family is still by his desk.

"Hi everyone, I am sorry for the events leading up to this little meeting. Now, I can't speak for the superintendent, but I don't understand how this man was able to get into our school system as a teacher. Nothing in our interview, nothing screams to us that this occurrence would have been a possibility. Blake, do you think he did this to other students?"

Blake spends a few seconds thinking over the question that Mr. Stanford asked him

"He was always looking around the classroom, but yeah he did seem to be eyeing other guys. But I can't say for certain who else he might have talked with or sent notes too."

Mr. Stanford was quiet for a second or two. He gets up and gives Blake a hug.

"Well then, we have a hard job ahead of us. I want to do right for all my students. With that in mind, the school is offering any kid who comes to our counseling. In the meantime, we have to find the other kids who might have received phone numbers or additional notes from Mr. Reyes. Ian, Trace, I promise you this man is going away.

"Mr. Stanford, is everyone who works in the school is required to do a background check?"

"Yes Trace, we require everyone from the custodians on up to the principals to have a background check. I honestly do not know how he slipped through the cracks. He did have a background check, but it came back clean."

Usually, Trace would speak his mind, but today, he's trying to hold stuff inside. It's not happening very well, though.

"I just hope that there isn't more kid suffering because of that asshole. Sorry, Mr. Stanford, for my language."

Mr. Stanford shakes his head. Mr. Stanford, Trace, and Ian are all hoping that the other students will come forward. Hopefully, Mr. Reyes never got a student alone (Really quick author's note; he never did get a student alone. I refuse to even consider the possibility. Now back to the story.)

"Since we went on lockdown today, there will be a call go out to all the family's have students that attend this school. Trace, Ian, I'm really hoping that this was a single incident, but my heart says that it wasn't. Blake, I would love for you to stay today, but I understand if you want to go home. I'm okay with it if your dads are okay with it?"

Blake looks at his dads to see if they are okay with him going home, and he is okay with either going home or staying at school. Suddenly, there are signs of emotion bubbling in his eyes. He is sitting there between his dads and in front of his principal, and he is ready to cry. He knows how serious this whole mess is, and he also realizes that not everyone can be trusted. He's seen it with Mark and again with Mr. Reyes. Who besides his dads and his family can he trust? What would have happened if he ran away from Trace on their first encounter? What if...he had listened to Mark's lies? His tears have started? Trace and Ian waste no time in wrapping their arms around their son. Right there, right in that second, his dads decide that he could go home. Ian, on the other hand, he is going to stick with the day.

"Blake go get your stuff from your locker."

Mr. Stanford says to Blake as the tears slow down to almost nothing.

"Okay...okay, I'm going to use the restroom first."

He didn't want his dads to worry about him; if he wasn't back right away. Blake gets up and walks out of the office to use the restroom.

***

Stopping by the restroom by his dad's classroom, Blake hears what sounds like crying coming from inside. As he walks into the restroom; another student is standing over by the last urinal. It's evident that he isn't peeing, but when he sees Blake, he tries to hide his face. Being the kid that he is, Blake isn't about to let it go.

"You okay man?"

At first, the other student ignores Blake and pretends to zip his pants up. Blake sees his face, and his eyes are red and puffy, and his cheeks look wet too. What happens next surprises, Blake.

"You're in Mr. Reyes 4th hour class, right?"

The teen asks Blake. By the way, his name is Toby, and he is in Blake's 4th-hour class.

"Yeah, I am what happened?"

Toby starts to cry again and pulls out a piece of paper that from the back closely resembles the quiz that Mr. Reyes passed out today. His hands are trembling a bit as he gives it to Blake. As soon as Blake sees the note, his stomach becomes a little sick. Without going into what the note said, it was a little bit more explicit than the note that Blake received from the teacher. It suggested what could happen between teacher and student.

"Look, dude, I know this won't be easy, but you need to come with me to the office and talk with Mr. Stanford. Thye have already arrested Mr. Reyes, but anyone who might have been propositioned by him that comes forward might mean more time in prison for him."

Toby isn't sure if he wants to go to the office or not, but something that Blake said helped to him the nerve to go.

"Only if you'll go with me."

Toby is not a jock, but he does work out a bit, he could have physically taken down Mr. Reyes, but he didn't.

"I'll go with you, but I have to stop by my locker first."

The other kid nods his head and follows Blake to the locker. As soon as Blake has everything he needs from his locker, they head up to the office both boys are still pretty shaken by the actions of one bad teacher. When they enter the office, Blake gives Ms. Hall glance, and that was all it took for her to get up and escort the boys into Mr. Stanford's office.

"Mr. Stanford, Blake is back, and he brought Toby Prince with him."

She smiles at Toby and gives him an encouraging pat on the back and then she walks away from closing the door behind her.

"Mr. Prince, how can I help you?"

Mr. Stanford asks Toby. Blake doesn't think that his family should be in here to hear Toby's story.

"Hey, I think we should go."

Blake tells his dads, but then Toby gives it a thought.

"Blake, can you maybe stay?"

Blake sits right back down in his seat, while Ian and Trace leave the office. For the record, Toby and Blake know each other, but the boys don't associate in the same circle of friends.

"Okay, I need one of you to tell me what's going on here?"

Both the teens look at each other, and then back at each other, as they decide who is going to be speaking. Toby tries to speak up, but almost immediately, the tears start all over again. He gathers himself up enough and hands the quiz over to Mr. Stanford. Their principal reads the quiz, and its accompanying note, and then he gets up and walks out of his office. When he returns to his office, he comes with Mr. DeSoto, who also reads the quiz.

"Hey guys, can you go with Mr. DeSoto? I want to call the police to see what they want to do, and then I am calling the superintendent's office."

The guys get up and follow Mr. DeSoto as they walk into the office. This office is the one that most kids try to stay out of if they can help it. Poor Blake has been his office a couple times before, and it was not a pleasant experience. He won't leave till he knows that Toby is good.

"Toby, Did Mr. Stanford ask you any questions?"

Mr. DeSoto asks him, so he knows where to begin. Mr. DeSoto starts a little interview with Toby. He asked Toby if anyone else was contacted, and like Blake, he said that he didn't know. Mr. DeSoto can see that Toby is distraught, so he gives a minute to pull himself together.

"Toby, we offered Blake the opportunity to go home, would you like to go home for the day?"

Toby doesn't look happy, but he's appreciative of the offer nonetheless.

"I don't have anyone to pick me up. Mom and Dad are both at work."

Mr. DeSoto wants to do the right thing here, so he thinks for a minute.

"Toby would you like someone to talk too about it?"

He doesn't say anything, just nods his head.

"Okay, I'm going to write you a pass to go to Mrs. Green's office. I want you to know that this is the right thing by coming in to speak with us."

He hands the student the pass, and Toby heads out to the counselor's office. Blake leaves, the office and then joins his dads.

"I'm ready, Dad. Let's go before Stanford..."

Ian gives his son a quick glance.

"I mean...Mr. Stanford changes his mind."

Blake corrects himself and then heads out of the office. Trace says goodbye to his husband before he leads for the school's exit.

"Ms. Hall, I need Toby Prince's emergency numbers?"

She digs through her database till she finds what she's looking for, and then passes it on to Mr. Stanford. He takes a deep breath and then picks up his phone. He calls the first number, which is Toby's mother, but just gets her voice mail. He doesn't go into details and chooses to have her call him back. Next, he tries to call Toby's father, but again just got voice mail. In the end, though only his mother called back and for whatever reason, she just didn't seem all that upset. His father doesn't even bother to call Mr. Stanford back. It pisses him off big time. He walks out and goes into Mr. DeSoto's office to gripe.

"So, I called Toby Prince's parents, and the only his mother called me back, either his father already knew that I had called the mother or this really explains why we've had some of the problems we've had in the past."

He says as Mr. DeSoto rolls his eyes. Toby is a great kid to be around, but his parents not so great. They haven't taken too kindly in the past to having calls from anyone in regards to their son's schooling. Meanwhile, Trace and Blake are at home, relaxing, and trying to stay calm.

***

It's the end of the school day, and by this time the whole school knows that Mr. Reyes was fired, and but no one knows who was approached by the guy. Blake has tried his best to be around Trace all day. Blake has not wanted to be alone all day. Being alone gives his mind time to wander, and that means doing the "What ifs." Blake is downstairs with Trace when there is a knock at the door. Blake gets up to answer it, and it's Ben with a face full of worry. Ben immediately wraps his arms around Blake.

"Are you okay?"

Ben asks while still hugging Blake.

"What do you mean?"

Ben gives his boyfriend a smirk. He knows what's up, and between what Ian said and what was being said at school, Ben figured out why Blake wasn't at school.

"Dude, I know what happened at school."

"Yeah, it was crazy. I've heard of teachers doing something similar or worse, but it's sad. I should be safe at school. I...should...be able to trust the adults at school."

Blake is one hundred percent right about trusting the adults at school. Every adult that works at a school should be trustworthy.

"Mr. Reyes is in the minority, so it's a good thing that you can trust most adults."

Trace says he when he hears his son's comment. Ben breaks his hold on Blake, and the guys move to the couch.

`I'm so glad that Ben decided to come by to see me.'

A boyfriend should be there for their guy for the bad and the good. Blake wants to kiss him, but he won't do it in front of his dad.

"Will you have to testify?"

Ben asks Blake. The question forces Trace to pay close attention to Blake.

"I will if I get asked too. I will do whatever I can to get this guy put away."

Trace pats him on the back.

"Proud of you, Blake."

Trace is super proud of his son for doing the right thing. Getting, Mr. Reyes put away for a little longer would be amazing. Trace knows that Ian will be coming home soon, so he starts working on dinner, tonight needs to be something good; something Blake will love. Today has not been an easy day. Blake and Ben have been kicking back and watching some movies.

***

After dinner, Ian gets a phone call on his cell phone. He takes the call in the office, so it stays private. It's from the superintendent of schools. He called to apologize for what happened and to basically make certain that Blake was okay. Course, he's trying to figure out if he needs to be worried about a possible lawsuit. Ian isn't willing to let him get comfortable. He ends the call giving the superintendent at least a little reassurance, that there won't be a lawsuit coming towards the school system. Ian finds Trace in the kitchen and begins to talk.

"So, the superintendent just called me."

Trace stares at Ian for a second or two, as he waits to find out why the superintendent called the house.

"What's going on with him?"

Trace asks his husband.

"Well, he called to apologize and to make sure that Blake was okay."

Ian answers his partner and then says one more thing that upsets Trace just a little.

"I think he was phishing for information to see if we were going to take legal action on the school system. What do you think, Babe?"

Trace is quiet as he thinks about what Ian's just said.

"I'm not sure that it will serve any purpose to sue the school system. Is that what you're thinking too?"

At this point, Blake rejoins the room, and their lips are sealed. Blake isn't dumb, though; he knows there was being discussed.

Another day has come in the lives of Andrews-Richards household, and for Blake, that means facing the school. School means facing the student body and the staff knowing that they know about Mr. Reyes. He has spent hours feeling like everyone's eyes are on him. It sucks big time. The day is almost as bad as the days that Rick made his life hell. All he wants is for the day to end so he can go home and go to bed. At least he has lunch to look forward to with all his friends.

Lunch comes, which finds Blake and his friends all sitting around a table in the lunchroom but today is different. Today, everyone is talking about yesterday. First Blake, then Toby, and now two more guys have come up to Blake to tell him about their experience with Mr. Reyes. Each kid got told the something different by the predator. They all echo Blake's emotions now. By the time lunch is over, Blake just wants the Mr. Reyes issue to disappear. Each of these kids was what you might call pretty boys. Kids who didn't give Blake much thought are speaking with Blake. All because of one bad person, they now have a common bond.

During Blake's final hours of the day, Mr. DeSoto calls down to the classroom to have Blake sent down to the office. When he gets there, Ian and Trace are there along with Toby whose parents are on speakerphone. Toby and Blake aren't sure what to think. Now more then ever, Blake wants the day to end so he can go home.

"Hi Blake, Toby, I'm Doctor Goodwin, the superintendent. I just wanted to personally say that I am sorry for what happened to you. I've had a chance to speak with your parents about the situation before Mr. DeSoto called you down to the office. Today, I spoke with the police and our attorney. The police have found out that other students who didn't come forward yesterday, that Mr. Reyes sent notes too. The good news is that he confessed to each and every one of them. We have every single note that he passed out on the quizzes. He's going to get put away. I don't know when, but, our attorney may want to speak with you guys."

Blake and Toby are stunned, neither of the students wants to face this man all they want is to go home. The Doctor Goodwin, Mr. DeSoto, and Mr. Stanford have all promised that this won't happen again. How do you stop something like this from happening? Hopefully, they are right.

Trace, Ian, and Blake are all sitting in Ian's classroom just relaxing. Trace is at a table in front of Ian's desk, and Blake is sitting next to him, while Ian is at his desk working at the computer. The guys really aren't talking, so Blake takes the opportunity to finish up on some homework. Blake is willing to do anything to keep his mind from the events of yesterday. He's hoping the world will return to normal soon.

"You want some ice cream today, Blake?"

Trace wants to keep Blake's mind off of yesterday. Ice cream is always an excellent way to keep your mind off of yesterday.

"Absolutely, Dad."

He could use some spoiling at the moment. They decided to head out, grab an ice cream, and relax a little bit. They decided to head out, grab an ice cream, and just relax a little. The ice cream was terrific, and Blake's mind off the whole Mr. Reyes thing.

Some good news came out from all of this, Blake and other victims had some excellent news. A month later, Mr. Reyes was sentenced. He had his teaching license revoked. What made them happy is that with all the teens that he propositioned, the judge gave Mr. Reyes 5 years jail time and upon release, he must register as a sex offender. What ticked off the judge the most was this guy used his power and influence to attempt to the teens to know him better.
