Date: Tue, 23 Jan 2001 23:55:08 EST From: UnCutNpoz@aol.com Subject: The story of David...or..The Dance My friends and I sit around the table discussing the days events. The mood is very festive. I glance around the crowded bar room from my table. Elliot is sitting at the table directly to my right. A Gentleman I have never seen before is sitting there with him. All I can see is his profile, but I can tell he is a very handsome man and one I do not recognise. When the song changes, my friend Celeste and I go up to dance. When I dance I escape into another world, a world into which no one else can penetrate. As I am dancing I close my eyes...when I open my eyes there is a man standing in front of me, it seems his eyes can not move from me. He noticed that I saw him standing there, and he smiled. As he smiled I saw a lgiht around him that began to grow, as if his whole being was glowing. In that moment I memorized his face and his body. I knew the inner light he possesed. His height almost matched mine, he was thin. He had very dark hair. One could get lost in his beautiful dark eyes. That is if they could get past his blinding smile. His aura was that of a child like spirit. Very glad to be alive..loving to love and be loved. "You dance really Hot." He says to me. "Thank you," I smile and look down before I blush. We continue to dance. I lean to where my lips are very near his ear. "You dance very well also." "Thanks. You are so hot!" "You are hot yourself." I say this, not really knowing what else to say. The music ends; so does the trance I am in. I slowly make my way to the bar, talking with friends along the way. Then I return to my table. As I sit there drinking from my drink, Leonard approaches me asking me to dance. We go to the dance floor with some other friends. The music comes and goes with me in my world of dance; not caring who is around me in this world. When I do finally return to this plain of reality, I glance around the dance floor. My eyes find his. He smiles. Again no one else exists. I leave my dance partner and follow his light until we are dancing. He has taken his shirt off. His lean muscular arms and chest are gleaming with sweat. For an instant, he and I are the only two on the dance floor. The music is playing only for the two of us. I had already written my number down with the intent of giving it to this man. As we dance I slip my number into his front pocket. I am unable to remove my eyes from him. When the music ends we leave the dance floor together. "My name is David." He whispers in my ear. "I am Arlis," of course I have to repeat myself. "You dance really hot, Arlis." David says to me. "You are very hot, too." I reply. After having a drink, he asks me to dance. He takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor. As I drift into my own world, I notice a glimmer of him there. After the song ends, I stay on he dance floor with a friend. He leaves the dance floor. When my friend and I finish our dance, I go to find David. He is by the bar telling a friend good bye. I go to him and tell him I gave him my number. "You did?" He asks. "It is in your front pocket." He reaches into his front pocket and finds the number. "I didn't even realize you placed it in there." We are talking by the bar. He is sitting on a bar stool, and I am standing beside him. I ask him to dance. He takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor. We go up to the center floor, which is slightly higher than the rest of the dance floor. As we dance we hold hands, hips, and each other. I move into a crouched position, my face is level with his crotch. As I raise into a standing position my face moves up his body until our lips meet. As our lips meet I notice I am not alone in my world, he has crossed over into my plain where I normally go alone. The song changes, and we change levels on the dance floor. We continue our dance. The world is no longer spinning, time stands still. We are the only two beings in the world. I spin him out, he spins back to me. We continue our dance. Spinning together as I spin him out and he returns to me. Then he pulls me to him. We kiss. Now we are dancing as one being across the dance floor. The song ends. We are no longer dancing. I look around, all eyes are on David and myself. We leave the dance floor. He is telling me good bye and thanks me for the dance. "Do not forget you have my number." "I have it right up front, I won't forget" He smiles. "Bye." He turns and leaves. I watch him walk away from the me. As he walks out the doors of the bar, all I see is the profile of a man I now recognize. Arlis Young 5:44 PM 1/17/01
