Chapter 07

The next morning after breakfast mike and Ethan explained to their brothers of the new addition to the family. As suspected, both brothers were thrilled at having another nephew to spoil rotten. Since everyone was on board, the boys called their lawyer to take care of the arrangements.

Jeremy assured them that he'll have everything taken care of. He had suspected what Mike's decision would be, and had similar papers to what Ethan had Rachel sign terminating her parental rights drawn up. With a few changes here and there, it'll be just what they're asking for, and air tight. The boys thanked him and ended the call. They then went to find their fathers to update them on the situation.

At the Matthews-Williams' house, Adrian and Gabriel were playing a board game with their boys when they were interrupted by Jeffrey bringing Adrian the phone. It was Mike calling with his news of the baby that he wanted to share with them. Once he knew who was calling, and at Mike's request, Adrian put the call on speaker so everyone could hear. Needless to say, they were all surprised at the unexpected revelation, but happy for he and Ethan. They congratulated him and wished him luck with the custody arrangement and his meeting with Valorie. They were sure it wasn't going to be a pleasant one.

Adrian, Gabriel, and their boys spent the day relaxing and enjoying their time together. However, DMoney, Julian, and their boys spent the day shopping for baby furniture and necessities. They wanted to be prepared for when the baby is able to come home and they didn't have much time to get everything. The next day Mattie was going back home, the adults were starting another week of work, and the boys were returning to school. No one was looking forward to it but they'll deal with it as usual. They could only escape the harsh reality of life for so long before it catches up to them.

After dropping Alonzo off at school, Adrian and Gabriel drove Mattie to the airport to catch his flight. It was a heartfelt good-bye for the guys but they manage to keep the emotions at a minimum. The two brothers wished they had more time together but Gabriel's assignment prevented that from happening. Mattie needed to get back to his own family and work and both guys were sad to see the visit come to an end so soon. They used their remaining time to plan another visit that included Mattie's wife and kids so the children could remain close as well. Finally, the Mattie's flight was called and the three guys hugged once again. Then Mattie entered through the terminal gates and was soon out of sight. Adrian and Gabriel watched the plane take off before leaving the airport and heading to Paradise Industries.

When they arrived at Adrian's office, the first thing they did was revised their plans with DMoney and Julian. After his plea bargaining with Stefano, Gabriel came up with a few new ideas he thought would work perfectly so they were added to the plans. One particular aspect will need to be in place right away which will be for Adrian and Gabriel to obtain. Hopefully obtaining this aspect will lead the two ladies right into their hands thereby killing two birds with one stone.

It was actually easier than either had expected. The proprietor was willing to negotiate and within no time they had struck a deal. The transaction was immediately process and another item was checked off their list. Everything was now in place with only a couple of things left to do which Gabriel will take care of. Now they just have to wait until their adversaries make their next strike which they thought wouldn't be too far off.

Unfortunately, that strike may come sooner than any of them had expected. Louisa and Jalisa were finalizing their own plans and were nearly ready to make their move. Jalisa checked her wall safe of her bedroom for some cash while Louisa made several calls. No one, including Gabriel, knew about the hidden stash because she only entered it when no one was around. She had it put in shortly after they had moved in and Gabriel was away on assignment. It enabled her to keep her accumulated wealth hidden and in easy reach at all times. After she had retrieved enough cash, and Louisa was finished making her calls, they headed to their first destination feeling confident that they'll finally get what they had been after.

They entered the building and were greeted by the same person working the front desk and were given the same treatment as on their first visit. They knew that copping an attitude would get them nowhere so they just asked to speak with the same man that they had spoken to on that day. After buzzing his office, they were told to have a seat and he'll be with them soon. Five minutes later he came out and reintroduced himself then escorted them back to his office. During that time the ladies did their own reintroduction and made small talk. Once they were seated, they got straight down to business.

Louisa presented him with the documents they had forged for this purpose. Unlike the previous ones, these were more concrete and conclusive with enough evidence to support the legibility to any untrained eyes without a thorough investigation. Both ladies were sure it would be enough to stick which should give them time to accomplish their next step and bring them closer to their goal. The man agreed and assured them that he'll put some people on it right away. That brightened up their morning and they thanked him for his help then made their departures.

The boys first day back at school was going well until the beginning of third period. Keith, Calvin, and their friends cornered Alonzo in one of the halls and started in with the taunting hoping to get under his skin.

"Well, look who we have here." Calvin said. "Did daddy and poppy get tired of seeing your ugly face and decided to send you back to school?"

Alonzo rolled his eyes. "You guys are really a huge pain in the ass, you know that?" He sighed exasperatingly. "Listen, I'm on my way to class and have no time to deal with Stupid R Us. And as for being ugly, you guys are the masterpiece that no one can compare to."

With that, he walked away, leaving the gang of goons standing there among the snickers of the other students passing by. However, that wasn't the end of it. Like all high schools; the gossip mill got wind of it and it spread with plenty of fabrication. The exaggerated version soon reached Mike and Ethan who could only shake their heads at the absurdity of it. They'll get the Accurint story from Alonzo when they see him at lunch. Unfortunately for Alonzo, there would be another incident just prior to the gathering.

He was on his way to meet up with the boys when he encountered the gang outside of the cafeteria. "We cross paths again for the second time in one day. You must really feel special now, right Alonzo?" Once again Calvin started with the taunting, but this time he was joined by his brother. "As well as he should be. Not everyone in school can say they had the privilege of multiple encounters with our gang of studs."

Alonzo tilted his head to the side with a raised eyebrow. "What's it like living in your fantasy world all of the time? Do you have a scrip to follow, or do you make things up on the spot? You should really give living in reality a try. You might find it fascinating. Who knows, you might even find yourself a boyfriend."

Both Mason brothers blushed at the last remark, but Calvin took a swing at him that never connected. Mike and the others had quietly snuck up from behind and suddenly Calvin found his arm being held in a hammerlock behind his back. One of Calvin's friends was about to attack Mike when Ethan stepped between them and stared him down. The boy was about to accept the challenge, but thought better of it. He knew he couldn't beat Ethan and he didn't want to embarrass himself by getting his ass kicked in front of so many people. Meanwhile, Calvin was groaning in excruciating pain from the pressure Mike was putting on his arm.

"You know, I'm getting very tired of you attacking my cousin every time I turn around." He spat with anger as he added more pressure. "Now listen all of you because this is your final warning. Stay... the hell... away... from my cousin. If you attack him one more time; then you'll have me to deal with, and next time I won't be so nice." He then addressed his cousin. "It's time you settle this thing between you and Keith once and for all and get it over with."

Alonzo nodded in agreement and turned to his former friend. "It's time and there's no backing out. I'm tired of you trying to make me out to be the bad guy while you continue to hide. You can name the challenge or I'll do it for you, but it'll happen regardless of what you decide. Either you face me one on one or we go our separate ways forever. You have until the end of school on Thursday to give me your answer."

The boys then headed into the cafeteria leaving Keith and his gang standing there totally speechless. After getting their lunches then finding a table to sit at, the guys looked expectingly at Alonzo. Alonzo took a couple bites of his food before telling them everything, including the incident from earlier. Once they heard the actual story, they focused on eating their lunch. Towards the end of the hour Ethan invited Alonzo to hang with them after school when they were going to do some more shopping for the baby. Alonzo called and received the okay from his Dad Gabe because his Dad Dray was in a meeting. Just then the bell rang and they had to head to class.

At Matmor's Security, DMoney and Julian had just returned from a lunch meeting when they saw a distressed look on Millie's face. They recognized that expression, and knew what was about to occur. But before she could utter a word, two policemen approached them from the sitting area. Once they had verified their identities, both men were placed under arrest and led away in handcuffs. Fortunately, DMoney had time to instruct Millie on contacting Adrian and their lawyer of the incident taking place. Unknown to them all, the same thing was happening at Paradise Industries, which left the two executive secretaries stepping in to take charge.

Like Millie, Judy had been forewarned by her boss and followed his instructions. After placing the call to Jeremy Wilson, she called Gabriel's cell to apprise him of the situation. Gabriel assured her that everything was under control and not to worry. He asked her to relay the same message to Millie. Hehe and Jayden will take care of everything and have the three guys back at their office before the day was over. That put Judy's mind at ease and she thanked him.

After reassuring Judy, Gabriel went to speak with his boss. He gave him a brief overview of the situation then he and Jayden left for Glenmont station. On the way, he gave Jayden the full story, including his plan to get the guys out. Jayden agreed to help, but suggested that he takes the lead since Gabriel was personally involved. Gabriel couldn't find any fault with his suggestion, so he reluctantly agreed.

As Gabriel and Jayden were heading to rescue the guys, Louisa and Jalisa were carrying out the next step of their plans. They arrived at family court just in time to consult with their lawyer before being ushered into the court room for the judge to hear their case. What no one knew is that the judge is a personal friend of the lawyer, and was doing him a personal favor. After presenting their phony claim and documents, the judge awarded them temporary custody of Jamy and Tony with strict stipulations and guidelines. As soon as they had the papers in hand, they waited for back-up before heading to Adrian's house to get the boys. Both ladies were ecstatic that things were finally going their way and everything would soon be under their control. Little did they know, things were about to take an unexpected turn that neither were prepared for.

Meanwhile, Gabriel and Jaden arrived at the station and flashed their identification cards and badges to the desk sergeant and asked to speak with the officer or officers in charge of the three cases. The sergeant knew better than to argue with a federal agent, so he sent one of his fellow officers to get the lieutenant. Five minutes later a middle-aged man came strutting out with a cocky demeanor. He looks to be about forty-five, short but well-built, brown hair and green eyes. Right away he tried to assert his authority and was quickly chastised by Jayden. He informed him that the three individuals were under their protection and no information will be divulged. All questionings must stop instantly and all evidence must be turned over to the FBI for further investigation. The Lieutenant tried to refute the orders by claiming that his department has jurisdiction, but Jayden corrected him on that.

"I'm sure you know that the bureau has jurisdiction over all departments involving cases under their protection, and that includes city and state. Any interrogation you conduct is illegal and put this department and anyone involved liable for prosecution by the feds. So, unless you want to be sitting on the other side of the interrogation table, I suggest you stop all questioning and release the three men right now."

After thinking about it for a moment, The Lieutenant decided against calling his bluff. Jayden's face was totally expressionless and he didn't want to risk the chance that this was on the up and up. He let out a grunt of annoying defeat and headed back to the interrogation rooms. Outwardly the two guys showed no expression but were inwardly smiling. Ten minutes later, the three guys plus their lawyer were brought to the front, and given a warning not to leave town. They just smirked in return and completely ignored him as they left the station.

They said goodbye to Jeremy then Gabriel drove Jayden back to headquarters before heading to Matmor's Security. Millie smiled when they entered and hugged them all as they passed her desk on their way to DMoney and Julian's office. They entered and took a seat at the little round table to discuss their counter strike against the day's attack. Two minutes later Millie quietly brought them some coffee and doughnuts then just as quietly left the room. She didn't want to interrupt or discourage them in any way.

They decided to strike tomorrow beginning with the place of employment and bank accounts. Both ladies had taken a temporary leave of absence that was about to become a permanent one. Once they have received confirmation that those had been accomplished, then they will move to the next stage which will be Jalisa's vehicle before delivering the final coup de grace. They finished their planning then Adrian and Gabriel left for Paradise Industries to close up before going home.

Louisa, Jalisa, and their backup raced to their destination ready to take the place by storm. They have the legal right to take the boys and this time nothing was going to stand in their way. However, what they had conveniently forgotten is that they have to get pass the security gate first. That gate gave Pat and Daren time to get Jeanette and the boys, including Theo to the secret room before their intruders reached the house. As soon as the door was opened, Louisa tried forcing her way inside but Pat and Daren were like a stone wall blocking her entrance. She started demanding to be let in but the two guys were unmovable and asked why they were there. Before anyone could say anything, Louisa started making her demands.

"I have legal documents giving me custody of my grandchildren." She thrust the documents at them with a big smile on her face. "Now step aside and let me in to get them or I'll have you arrested for violating a court order."

The guys just stood there as they read the documents over. When they found what they were looking for, they smirked in satisfaction. "I'm sorry but I can't do that Mrs. Matthews." Pat told her. "These papers must be served to the boy's legal guardian for you to take them. And since Adrian isn't here, you have no authority to take them anywhere."

Louisa snatched the papers back and read them over carefully. Printed there as one of the stipulations states that the order must be served to the current legal guardian before the children could be removed from the primases. Failure to serve the precise individual will result in kidnapping and/or abduction charges. That and a couple of other stipulations didn't sit well with Louisa and she started ramping at her lawyer. Her lawyer just waited until she ran out of steam before replying.

"I'm sorry Mrs. Matthews, but that's the law and there's no getting around it. You can't serve official documents to just anyone and expect to remove children from their parent and/or guardian. They must be served to the precise individual that the claim was placed against for them to take affect. Until Mr. Williams is served. The law is still on his side and custody belong to him. The children can't be removed until that happens."

"Fine then!" Louisa sighed exasperatingly. "We'll just wait for Adrian to come home and serve him the papers. I want my son and grandsons away from that degenerate and back in a loving and moral family like they should be."

"You just don't get it, do you?" Daren sighed just as exasperatingly as she did. "Gabriel's already in a loving and moral family. Just because it's not what you want, doesn't mean it not loving and moral. In fact, what you're trying to force upon him is neither loving or moral because it's not what he wants. That's why you're going to lose him and your grandsons in the end; because you can't and/or won't except him for who he is."

Just then Adrian and Gabriel arrived home. Neither Louisa nor Jalisa was surprised to see Adrian because they figured that his lawyer would be able to get him a quick bail hearing. Not knowing that it was Gabriel and his partner who actually got him out. They were however, surprised to see Gabriel getting out of the car as well. When Louisa saw that, she sighed once again, but this time it was in defeat. She knew what that meant but decided to keep quiet and hoped that no one would catch on.

"What are you doing here mother?" Gabriel demanded as he and Adrian approach the house. "I told you that you're not welcome here so you better not be here starting trouble again."

Pat handed him the documents as soon as they stepped through the door. "She came because of these, but couldn't do anything until Adrian came home to serve him."

Both men read the papers over thoroughly to be sure not to miss a word. They found what they were looking for, and gave one another a grin of comprehension, but it was Adrian who spoke. "Well, it's there written in black and white. Thank you for your time officer, but you can leave now. Please escort these people off my property on your way out."

"I'm sorry sir; but I can't do that." The lead officer said. "Those papers say that the children are to go with Mrs. Matthews. If you don't hand them over, then I'll have no choice but to arrest you for interfering with a court order."

"Did any of you bother to read the documents or just skim through them to verify what you had been told?" Gabriel asked with a devilish smile. "It clearly states that temporary custody is awarded to the paternal grandmother until the custodial parent and/or guardian returns home to resume parental responsibility. Since I'm both parent and guardian, my children aren't going anywhere, so your services aren't needed here."

Gabriel pointed out the section that he was speaking of for the officer to confirm which he did. At that point, he had no other choice but to have his men vacate the primases and escort the two ladies and their lawyer off of the property. Before he could do that though, Gabriel had some departing words for his mother and ex-wife.

"I warned you both but you didn't listen. Instead, you continued to try and destroy my family to suit your own wants and needs. Now you have to deal with Dray and I won't be holding him back from getting even with you. I hope you're ready to suffer the consequences for your actions."

He nodded at the officers who ushered them to follow. As they were being led away, they didn't miss the evil smile that Adrian was giving them. That's when Louisa began to realize that she wasn't going to get her way and she may have lost several members of her family. Gabriel was sure that she hadn't fully grasped the concept of her actions yet, but when she do, she will kick herself for her stupidity and stubbornness and would probably try to rectify her mistake with no success. He had warned her about her vendetta against the man he loves and their family several times, and wasn't going to forgive her for it.

Daren closed the door while Pat went to let Jeanette and the boys out of the secret room. Adrian and Gabriel checked to make sure that they were okay and weren't upset by the commotion. They then relaxed until it was time for dinner which was also when Alonzo came home from his outing with his friends. He quickly washed up and joined them at the table.

The rest of the night was laidback and peaceful.

Tuesday morning the first strike against the two ladies occurred. Louisa was first when she received a call from Kingston Travels where she works as a travel agent. It was her supervisor terminating her employment due to poor work Ethics. In the past two months her integrity had decreased to nearly reprehensible and showed no signs of improvement. Several complaints had been filed against her with Human resources and management had finally said enough was enough. She had been granted an extended leave of absence for a family emergency and now that extended leave had become a permanent one. Her final pay package including severance pay, would be wired to her account at the closing pay period on next Friday. The call completely threw Louisa for a loop that she couldn't even respond before the call had terminated.

Thirty minutes later another strike had made its mark in the form of Kennedy High School when the principle called Jalisa. She was informed that her employment as their part-time nurse was being terminated immediately. He had received some evidence concerning illegal narcotics being distributed at the schools. All evidence contains the name of the suppliers and substances being dispersed along with the day and time of transactions. The individual turning over the evidence wish to remain anonymous but wanted to help shut down the organization that's poisoning the children's body and mind. Unlike Louisa, Jalisa only took a short leave of absence and was due to return to work soon. Now that she's out of a job, it won't be necessary. As with Louisa, her final pay package including severance pay, would be wired to her account at the closing pay period on next Friday.

Both ladies were so stunned that they never suspected that they just been dealt a harsh blow by the guys whom they were set on destroying with more to come. They were both worried but for different reasons than the other. For Louisa, it was the matter of support and survival. She'd managed to save a sizable nest egg to live comfortably until she finds another job or for the next five years if she didn't spend extravagantly and only purchase the necessary items needed. She knew she couldn't call on Gabriel and Matteo for any support, her other children don't have the extent of money that they do, and Jalisa's too self-centered to think of anyone but herself. She wasn't even sure if she still has a husband to support her anymore. The last thing he told her before he went back home, was if she carry on with her vendetta, then she'll be completely on her own. Things were definitely not going as she had planned or hoped it to be.

Jalisa, on the other hand, was worried about her small organization that she believes no one knew about. As an employee of the school, she had easy access to a wide circle of teen youths in the community and surrounding areas to conduct her little side business without drawing any attentions her way. After all, who would question a sick student going to see the school's nurse? Her extra marital relationship with the school's vice principle is another incentive as well. It gave her complete and total access to a master key and the school. With her employment terminated, it'll be harder to use the school for her dealings and she'll have to think of other ways to continue on with her illegal activity.

After getting confirmation that strike one had been carried out, Adrian moved on to strike two. He called his friend at his local bank with the code word. His friend assured him that everything was arranged with the only thing left to do was to place the lock on the accounts. That was done as they were talking. Adrian thanked him for his help and arranged for them to have lunch one day next week before ending the call. He then called DMoney with the go ahead on his part.

DMoney signaled over to Julian as he was calling Gabriel. Receiving the signal, Julian had the package they were holding onto deliver by carrier to Special Agent Jayden Vanwinkle at FBI headquarters.

One hour later the package was received and signed for. After viewing its contents, Jayden was meeting with his supervisor privately in his office. Ten minutes later, he was coming out with a warrant in his hand. Since Gabriel was personally involved, they couldn't partner up so he grabbed a fellow agent and left on the assignment. Gabriel will only be there as backup and eye witness in case of any trouble.

On another front, Jeremy Wilson was on a phone consultation with the attorney for the Mitchel's' family concerning the welfare of the baby. He informed the attorney that his client was seeking soul and full custody and wasn't asking for any support, all parental rights to the child is to be signed over to the father, the mother is to have no contact now or in the future unless requested by the child himself, and a college and truss fund each for the child of $500,000.00 with the person of his choosing as executive of the trust.

"Please inform your clients that if these conditions aren't met, then my client is prepared to take this matter to court."

"Is your client crazy? He has no idea on how to raise a child much less an infant. It will be best for all parties involved to put the child up for adoption. He'll go to a happy and loving family and everyone can move on with their lives."

"On the contrary; it wouldn't be best for my client or the child." Jeremy retorted with total reassurance. "As far as raising a child goes, my client had baby sat his younger cousins on several occasions, and is currently helping his partner raise his infant son and have the support of his parents. These are the conditions, so take it or leave it. I expect to hear back from you within two hours with your clients'' answer. Good day!"

He disconnected the call and reviewed the custody agreement. He wanted to make sure it was air tight so there wouldn't be any problems in the future. When he was sure that he'd covered everything, he called the bank. He was told by account management that the two accounts had been set up as requested and awaiting transfer of funds. He thanked him and said that he should be hearing back from him by the end of the day. He was now caught up with his work so he left the office for an early lunch.

The three agents arrived at Glenmont station and Jayden asked the Sergeant at the front desk if he could speak with one of their officers. Gabriel recognized him as the same officer from the previous day, and knew they weren't going to have any trouble with him. Likewise, the Sergeant recognized two as the federal agents from the day before, and figured that the third guy was one as well. He made no fuss and sent one of his colleagues to find the officer requested. When the officer arrived at the front desk, Jayden verified his identity then arrested him for forgery and read him his rights while the other agent handcuffed him. He had no qualms with doing it in front of everyone in the station. Perhaps it will be a lesson that no one is above the law; not even those who are sworn to uphold it. They proudly escorted him out of the station and put him in the back of one of their cruisers. Jayden and the third agent then transported him to headquarters for booking while Gabriel followed behind in the second cruiser.

The adults' morning was quite busy but the boys were easy going. After challenging his former friend yesterday, Keith, his brother, and their friends avoided running into Alonzo, Mike, and the other boys at school. That is, until after lunch. During fifth period, Alonzo asked and was given a pass to the bathroom. He had just finished washing his hand when the door opened and Keith entered. The two boys stared at each other intensely for a minute then Keith went over to the urinal. Alonzo thought nothing of it and moved over to the dryer dispenser. It was as he was drying his hands when he heard Keith say something to him.

"Why did you challenge me Alonzo? You don't want to fight me, and I don't want to fight you, so why do it?"

"I did it because you pushed me to." Alonzo replied as he stared him in the eyes. "You seem to have something to prove to everyone to hide who and what you really are. We could have gone our separate ways and never spoken to one another again, but you let your thug-headed friends influence you into being an asshole, and trying to make my life miscible!

I know what you want, and you know what I want. The only difference is that you're afraid of what people will think of you and I'm not. If you want to stay in the closet, then that's your choice, but you don't have to be an asshole just because I choose not to hide with you. One way or another I will find the one for me and be happy. Whether it'll be with or without you is up to you. I'm not going to push you one way or the other."

Alonzo finished drying his hands and left the bathroom without saying another word. Keith finished up and left shortly afterwards. He knew that Alonzo was right but what can he do? If he came out, his father will go ballistic, and his mother will back him just to stay married to him. He sees how their marriage works and wants more for himself. He doesn't want to merry a girl and have to support her just because it's the norm of society. He wants what Alonzo and Mike's parents, and even Mike and Ethan have together; and he believes that he can get that with Alonzo. He knows what he has to do and hope he can do it without anyone finding out about it.

That chance came at the end of school when he saw the boy walking to his locker alone and approached him. "Ethan, can I talk to you for a moment?"

Ethan turned around and was surprised to see Keith standing there but quickly recovered. "Sure, but make it quick. I have to meet the guys and get home to my son."

Keith nodded his acceptance. "I'm sure you and Mike have some idea as to the feud between me and Alonzo." Ethan nodded that he did and he continued. "I was wondering if I can talk to you about it without anyone around? I don't want anyone knowing until I'm ready to tell them."

Ethan pulled out a slip of paper and wrote down his number then handed it to Keith. "Here is the number to my cell. Give me a call and we'll set up something. I know what you're going through and can help."

Keith took the paper and thanked him. Ethan watched him walk away and hoped that he was ready to hear and deal with the harsh truth. After exchanging his books for the one he needed for his homework, he went to meet up with the others including Alonzo in front of the school. Both of his fathers were unable to pick him up so they were giving him a ride home. He decided to keep his little chat with Keith to himself until he knew more about the situation.

Just before locking up for the day, Jeremy checked to confirm that the money was deposited into the baby's trust funds. He had just returned from lunch when he'd received the call from the Mitchel's' attorney informing him that they had agreed with Mike's terms and would wired the money. As a last-minute stipulation, Mike insisted that Valorie be flown back to deliver the baby. They agreed to that as well, and hired a helicopter to have it done. Mike wanted his son born close to home, but far enough away so not to cause Valorie any tension. They agreed that Children Hospital in Washington would be the best place and by 3pm Valorie was admitted to the maternity ward. All was in order so he shut everything down and locked up. He'll call the Matthews-Morrison house on his way home and notified Mike of the developments.

After dinner, Keith went to his room to be alone so he can call Ethan. The questions that he needed answers to were best to be asked in private. His room was the only place in the house where he felt safe and comfortable to hold that conversation. He didn't get that anywhere else because his room was his private domain where no one bothered him so he can relax and be himself. When he had Ethan on the line, he began to have second thoughts and started to hesitate. Ethan understood how he felt and waited for him to begin.

Meanwhile, Mike was trying not to give into his urge to ease drop on his boyfriend conversation. It was just after dinner when Ethan's phone rang and he stepped into the study to take the call. That peeked Mike's curiosity in whom he was talking to and the topic of their conversation. He had an idea because unknown to Ethan, he had a similar conversation with the other half of that topic while he was waiting for the others after school. At that moment his phone rang and it was the other half he was thinking of. Since Ethan was using the study, he went to their room to take the call and feed EJ at the same time.

After a few minutes of small talk, Keith still hadn't asked the questions he needed answered. Ethan figured that he was losing his courage to start so he helped him out. "Keith, I know what you want to ask, but are afraid to. Admitting that you're gay to others is harder than admitting it to yourself. You don't know how they will feel or what they will say and that can be scary. Waiting and/or hiding will only make it harder to come out because the fear has time to tighten the hold on your bravery and convince you to stay in the closet. However, all it will do is convict you to a life of unhappiness and possibly losing the best thing that will ever happen to you. Is that what you want?"

"No, but that's not all that scares me. Where will I live? Who will take care of me until I'm able to take care of myself? What will I do for money? Who will pay for my education? The wrong decision could end up causing me everything." Keith rambled on with uncertainty.

"Or it can end up gaining you everything. You don't know what's going to happen either way." Ethan gently responded with certainty. "I can talk to my dads' about letting you stay here; and I'm sure Alonzo wouldn't leave you out on the streets." Just then he heard Keith gasp. "Yes Keith, I figured out what the incident between you and Alonzo was about. Mike and I both did; but you don't have to worry, we won't tell anyone."

Keith was a little mortified that someone knew, and it showed in his voice. "Ho, how, how did you figure it out?"

"You mean besides the way you two always look at each other?" Ethan bluntly asked with a little teasing added in. "It's how you guys always fight. You may give each other insults here and there, but the insults are never hurtful, and the looks you give each other confirms it. Like when he challenged you, the look you gave each other was so intense you could have cut it with a knife; but it wasn't threatening. It was like you was begging him not to do it and he was telling you to give him a reason not to.

It's obvious that you two are equal in size and strength but Alonzo is more dominant. You don't want anyone to know that because it'll make you look weak. If they're truly your friend, then they won't care who you love as long as you're happy. Look at me and Mike. We're equal in size and strength but Mike's more dominant than me. I don't have a problem with that or care what people think. The more you care what other people think than what you think, the harder it will be for you to live your own life, and find that happiness that you deserve."

"But my dad always says that the whites should be stronger than the black man; and that the man is always the boss in the relationship."

"Sorry to tell you this bud, but your dad is a homophobic and racial bigot." Ethan stated with a lot of hostility before taking a deep breath to calm his anger. "Race and gender have nothing with who is or isn't the boss. Mike doesn't boss me around; and I don't boss him around either. Our relationship is give and take fifty/fifty and that includes how we raise our son. You need to decide what you want out of life, and is it worth going after or letting go."

Keith listened closely to everything that Ethan was telling him and took it all to heart. He was expected to have his questions answered but ended up getting more than he had bargain for! Ethan told him the truth and didn't beat around the bush. Now it was up to him to figure out what to do and do it. He thanked Ethan for the talk and asked if he could call again if he has any more questions. Ethan told him to call any time and he'll be there to listen then they ended their call. He then went looking for his boyfriend and found him in their room just getting off his own phone. He asked who he was talking to, and Mike answered Alonzo, then threw the question back at him. Ethan answered Keith and that started them off in their discussion about the two boys. Ethan told Mike what was concerning Keith and that he needed some questions answered that would help him make a decision.

Nike nodded in confirmation regarding his earlier assumption. "That's what I thought. I had a similar conversation with Alonzo. Only he knows what he wants and that it's worth it but doesn't want to push Keith. He wants Keith to make his own decision, but isn't going to wait much longer. He believes that two years is long enough. Anyone who looks closely can see that those two belong together."

"I just hope Keith realizes that before it's too late. Yes, they're both equal in size and strength, but Alonzo is definitely the more dominant of the two, and I think Keith likes and prefer to be the submissive one. I know I do most of the time."

That put a smile on Mike's face and a twinkle in his eyes. He just loves his boyfriend and best friend with all of his hart. The two shared a passionate and loving kiss before going to see what the others were up to.

The next morning at breakfast Keith was upbeat and happy thanks to his talk with Ethan. His parents paid no attention to it but his brother did. He didn't know the reason for it but was thankful that he was hopefully starting to cheer up. For the past two years he had been kind of lonely and depressed but no one except Calvin noticed and had his suspicions as to why but kept it to himself. He just hopes that his brother was ready for what's to come if he does what Calvin think he's going to do. Whatever happens though, he will support his brother in any way that he can. He loves his brother too much not to.

On their way to school, Calvin voiced his suspicions to his brother. Keith clamped up but relaxed when Calvin told him that he will be there for him and support him no matter what. If he was sure, if he was really sure, then don't let his chance get away because he will regret it sooner or later. He knows how that feels because he let his chance get away and he had regretted it ever since. He didn't want that for his brother because it could ruin a good friendship, and he only wants the best for him. Keith leaned over and hugged his brother which he returned it one arm since he was driving. That got Keith thinking and when they had broken the embrace, he asked Calvin if that what happened between him and Mike.

"In a way it did." Calvin affirmed with much sadness in his voice. "Mike, Ethan, and I were like the three musketeers when we were going up then puberty set in. Mike and Ethan started getting closer and I began to get jealous over it because I wanted Mike for myself. They never treated me any different then they always have, but I knew how mom and dad felt about homosexuals, so I never told Mike how I felt about him. Meanwhile, they continued to get closer, and I became more jealous until it got to the point when I couldn't be around them without giving them the evil eye, so I stop being friends with them. I'm kind of like Ethan is, more dominant than submissive, but Mike's more dominant than either of us. That's what you have with Alonzo, but is afraid to admit it because you think it'll make you look weak. Am I right?"

Keith admitted that it was and he didn't want it any other way. "I know he'll let me dominate him every once in a while, if I wanted to, but I rather have him in control most of the time. He just has this aura that says I'm the boss and don't you forget it!"

"That's how I feel about Mike as I'm sure Ethan does too. I don't think I'll ever feel that way about anyone else and I'm not looking for it. That ship had sailed and I missed it. Don't let that happen to you."

They arrived at school and parked the car. When they got out, Calvin fully embraced his brother and whispered into his ear to be true to himself. A few spaces away the Matthews/Morrison clan observed the brotherly affection with Mike and Ethan giving each other a look of wonder before heading into the building. They were about to enter when Adrian pulled up to drop off Alonzo so they walked over to say hello. He has a busy morning at the office so he didn't stay long and told them all to have a good day at school and gave them all a hug before leaving. The boys headed towards the building once again when Mike pointed towards the student parking lot. Alonzo looked over that way and spotted Keith and his brother coming their way and the two boys locked eyes. They stared at one another for a moment that spoke volume before breaking contact and continuing on into the building. Mike and Ethan nodded at one another and followed behind the others. If there were any lingering doubts in their mind, they were now put to rest.

Adrian was at the office checking his emails and messages when Joe and Judy arrived and he looked at them with concern. Usually, Judy is already at the office when he comes in, and her not being there this morning had him a little worried. He asked if there was anything wrong and she said no. They just had some difficulty getting Joey to sleep last night and had overslept this morning then ended up in a little traffic due to a small accident that caused her to be late. Adrian then asked if Joey was okay and Judy replied that he was fine but cutting his first tooth which was the cause of his crankiness.

After bringing him up on her tardiness, Judy went to her desk to let Adrian and Joe get to work. Joe was meeting with him to go over his portfolio and determine which stocks he wanted to sell and which he wanted to keep. Ever since Joe had been Adrian's broker, he had done a superb job with investing his money, and had doubled most of them within six to twelve months every year. He had done the same with other members of his family and had made them very wealthy people. They trust him completely and wouldn't have anyone else handling their money.

At Joe's suggestion, Adrian did some refiguring in his and the other guys' portfolio to recover the lost they had suffered in their plan within three to four months. From time to time the four guys have no problems with giving one another access to their investments so it was no surprise to Joe that Adrian had authorization to the changes for the three guys' accounts. He gave Joe the green light to work his magic and see what happens. Just keep them updated in case they wanted or needed to pull out on anything for any reason.

After Joe left, he did some paper work until the start of normal business hours. That's when he made a call to set the next stage of his plans in order with instruction to be notified when it had been carried out. At the same time DMoney was making the same call and giving the same instruction on his part of the plans.

It was now morning break at school and the boys were getting something from the vending machines when Keith and Calvin walked up to them without their friends. They didn't sense any hostility or animosity coming from the brothers but they weren't completely letting their guard down. After all, they haven't been on the best of terms for the past few years, and were skeptical of their attentions. However, they didn't have to worry because the brothers only wanted to meet with them and resolve some conflicts. They agreed and Mike and Calvin arranged a time and place to meet after school away from others that may cause trouble. Through that short discussion, Keith and Alonzo just stared at one another. One with indecisiveness; and the other with hopefulness. The bell rang at that moment indicating the end of break so they returned to class. As they were departing, Alonzo gave Keith a small smirk that he understood completely. "You'll submit to me. You know you will." He answered it with a small perceptible nod that only Alonzo noticed.

Louisa and Jalisa were clearing the table after breakfast when they heard some noise outside. They looked out the window to see two burly men loading Jalisa's SUV onto a transport trailer and rushed outside. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Jalisa barked at them. "Where are you going with my car?"

"This vehicle is being repossessed for nonpayment." One guy answered while the other continued to load the trailer. "I suggest you settle payments with the dealerships finance department if you want to regain possession. But I warn you, the dealership is under new ownership and all credit is being closely scrutinized."

Jalisa frown wondering what that has to do with getting her car back but Louisa had the feeling that she knew. She thanked the man for the information then grabbed Jalisa by the arm and dragged her back into the house. When they were behind closed doors, she told her what she was thinking.

"I think this is another strike against us by my son and his friends. No one else we know have the money, resources, and hatred for us to pull this off. And if that's the case, then the only way you're going to get that fancy car back is by paying it outright because I don't think you're be able to finance or get a loan to purchase it. The repossession will definitely go against your credit and put-up major roadblocks."

"Fuck that!" Jalisa spat out angrily. She then went on a tirade about how Gabriel promised to take care of her when they were married, how she deserves the best things in life after hours of labor to deliver his spoil brats, and how he can afford to buy it for her without putting a dent in his bank accounts. "He'll have no other choice but to buy it for me because I won't take no for an answer."

"Good luck with that!" Louisa pessimistically replied. "You haven't been able to make Gabriel buy you anything lately; and I don't see him doing it now that Adrian got his claws well hooked into him. They're going on the offense now and have been doing a damn good job of it so far. Let's face it, nothing we tried has work, and I'm beginning to wonder if anything will."

Jalisa knew that Louisa was right but wasn't ready to admit defeat. She still believe that she can get Gabriel to submit to her will and buy her anything that she desires and no one can tell her otherwise. Louisa however, thought she was fooling herself but had to let her find out for herself and clean up the mess when she fails.

When school was over, the boys headed out to meet up with Calvin and Keith at a local establishment call Smokehouse Barbecue. They were just seated at a table when the two boys walked in and joined them. Not knowing what the two boys wanted to say, they waited until they had ordered their food before anyone began speaking. On the way there, Calvin and Keith had discussed it and decided that Calvin would take the lead since it all began with him, Mike, and Ethan.

"I want to apologize to you all for the way I'd been acting, especially you two." He said looking in Mike and Ethan's eyes before looking directly back into Mike's. "You see, when we hit puberty, I started to have feelings for you but I didn't know how to handle it or how to tell you how I felt. You know how my parents are; plus I had my brother to consider. My parents would have kicked me out and wouldn't have let me take him. Then you two kept getting closer and I got even more jealous because I couldn't watch that and be happy for the two of you. It was then I began to hate my parents.

Then Alonzo and my brother became friends. I always had to run interferences when my parents were beginning to catch on. I started to see some similarities and had to support my brother through it. I knew Alonzo had all of you to go to for help, but Keith only had me, and big brother mode set in. I also needed to buy time until I was ready to play my hand.

I'm ready now but I need help to pull it off and you guys are the only ones I can trust to help without my parents finding out."

He then explained how he prepared. First, he learned how to pick the lock on his father's home office where he knew all of the important items and information were being held. Next, he had to figure out the combination to the safe (his parents' anniversary), and the password to the computer, (his grandfather's first name). Afterwards, he had to copy all important document with duplicand copies. Finally, he had to record all important telephone and/or bank account numbers. As he was doing this, he conversated stacks of money (enough to be undetectable) to support he and his brother until he was old enough to claim his inheritance and secure his brother's. He stashed that away in a safe deposit box that his parents don't know about. He then explained what he needed their help with and how soon he needed it before his parents catch on to his plans.

Just then their food arrived so the conversation was put on hold. After a few bites of food, everyone had questions but they let Ethan and Mike take the lead because it was out of their elements. "I'm sure we can help you out but it might take some time." Mike said with sympathy.

"I understand, but please try not to take too long." Calvin replied. "I don't want my parents' catching whim before I have everything in place. I want it all secure before they can prevent anything from happening and try to stop me."

The three oldest discussed the plans more until it was all ironed out. Just then Ethan and Mike's attention were drawn towards the door which got Calvin turning to look. Entering and heading to the counter was one of Calvin's friends from school. Spotting them, he turned and headed in their direction.

"Hey guys; what's going on?" Andrew asked curiously. "You look like you were deep in conversation."

"Maybe we were. What's it to you?" Calvin asked with a note of suspicions.

"I was just hoping that was the case. I could always tell that Calvin was unhappy after a confrontation with you guys when no one else could but didn't want to say anything in front of anyone." He then looked at Calvin, Ethan, and Mike. "I knew that something happened between you guys years ago but didn't know what it was and/or how to help, so I did the only thing I could do, and that was to be a friend to Cal when he needed one. Hopefully, you can get pass the problem or problems and repair your friendship. Don't worry; I won't say anything to anyone until you say I can." The last statement was spoken directly to Calvin.

As Andrew talked, Mike noticed the surreptitious looks that he and Calvin kept giving each other when they thought no one was looking. He offered to refill everyone's drinks and asked Calvin to go with him because he wanted to talk to him in private. He waited until they were out of hearing range before saying anything. "Have you ever noticed how Andrew looks at you?"

"Yeah, he's cute, but I keep getting mix signals from him, so I haven't said anything to him about how cute I think he is. I don't want it getting back to my father that I hit on him." Calvin replied hesitantly. "But damn, does he have a great ass!"

Mike giggled heartily. "I think you have to be the one who makes the first move. He obviously to scared and won't be the one because he's afraid of what you will do if he does."

"There's several things I like to do to him; and none of them involves pain. At least not much!" Calvin giggled back humorously.

After a good hardy laugh like they used to do when they were little boys, the two finished refilling the drinks and returned to the table passing them out. When Calvin passed his brother his, he nodded towards Alonzo signaling him to talk to him now. Keith's eyes merely popped out as he shook his head franticly. Calvin excused them from the others and took him aside for a private talk. Five minutes later he returned to tell Alonzo that Keith wants to talk to him privately outside. Andrew raised a curious eyebrow at him but Calvin shook his head. He wouldn't betray his brother's trust by revealing something so personal without his brother's consent.

Not long after the boys returned with smiles on their face, which made Andrew even more curious but he took Calvin's response to his unasked question and didn't ask again. "Well, I better get to work."

"I didn't know you work here." Calvin said sounding surprised.

"I sort of do." Calvin's copped an eyebrow so he explained. "My family owns the restaurant and I do deliveries for them part-time. I'll see you guys later."

Just then Andrew's mom could be heard calling him from the front. "Andrew." They all returned the parting and he went to see what his mother wanted. When Calvin thought he was far enough away, he muttered to himself as he stared. "Damn that's a hot ass!"

Everyone at the table heard that and giggled. It made Calvin blush extremely from being over heard. Unknown to him, Andrew heard it as well and smiled to himself. He has had the biggest crush on Calvin ever since they had met in the ninth grade but didn't want to have the shit kicked out of him if he was wrong. Hearing him say how hot his ass was; gave him hope of Calvin asking him out. Now he has to wait to see if he can get the guy that he's been lusting over for years.

When the giggles had settled down, and Andrew was out of hearing range, Keith turned to his brother with a daring look. "Why don't you ask him out? You know you like him and I bet he's waiting for you to ask."

"I will once I'm sure his launch pad is ready and set for the rocket." Calvin grinned mischievously.

Mike and Ethan laughed at the confused looks on the other boys faces. "I'll tell you what it means later. Right now, I need to make sure that we're all in agreement with my plans."

Everyone agreed that they were. On his way out the door to make a delivery, Andrew saw they were still there and asked Calvin if he could stay until he gets back. "It's not far, so it should take only about twenty minutes."

Calvin checked with the others and they nodded in agreement. He told Andrew that he can stay, but not for long because he had to get home before his parents gets suspicious and start asking questions. Andrew said he understood and he will be as fast as he can. While they waited, the others tried to get Calvin to ask Andrew out but had no success until Keith threw his words back at him that convinced him. "You never know unless you try." Then he just smiled.

Calvin glared at his brother who just continued smiling which got Alonzo laughing lightheartedly. Calvin knew he was cornered and couldn't expect his brother to take his advice if he couldn't so he reluctantly acquiesced. "I really hate you!"

"Love you too big bro!" Keith replied humorously because he knew his brother didn't mean what he just said. They always tease one another all the time.

They used the twenty minutes to reminisce and to build old and new relationships. As promised, Andrew returned and joined them just like he had been a part of the group from the start. After fifteen minutes, Calvin rose then said that he and Keith better get home. "Let me know what you find. I really need to find a place for me and Keith ASAP."

Mike said that he and Ethan will get right on it as soon as they get home and talk to their fathers. At that moment Andrew directly asked his crush. "What's going on? You're not moving, are you?"

Calvin heard the preservation in Andrew's voice when he asked the questions. He thought he was losing Calvin before he even got him. "What I'm about to tell you has to stay between us. Will you give me your word on that?" Andrew swore and Calvin continued. "I'm planning on leaving home and taking my brother with me as soon as I have a place to live. I'll be going to the same school and everything so I'll still be around but I can't trust any of my so call friends so the guys are helping me. It needs to be done in secrecy so you're the only one who knows besides them because I don't want my parents to find out before I'm ready to tell them."

The stern tone in Calvin's voice told Andrew not to cross him. "I won't say anything to anyone. I really hope it works out for you."

"Once I'm settled in, I'll invite you over for dinner. I can cook but I'm not an expert so it won't be too fancy."

"How about I come early and make dinner myself. I'm a great cook. In fact, I already got accepted into the Culinary Institute of America. I'll make enough to last a couple of days." When Calvin was about to object, Andrew pleadingly insisted. "It's not a problem. I love to cook for you!"

Hearing the pleasing tone in Andrew's voice made Calvin quickly reconsider. He didn't want to disappoint and/or upset him ruin his chance of happiness again. "Okay, but the second date is on me, and I won't take no for an answer."

Andrew smile gave Calvin his answer that Andrew was really hoping for that second date. Reluctantly he and Keith said goodbye to everyone and headed home. Five minutes later, the rest of the boys also said goodbye to Andrew and left as well.

When they got home, Mike and Ethan thanked Maryanne for staying until they arrived and told her that there will be a bonus in her pay this week. She tried to tell them that wouldn't be necessary but they insisted then released her for the day. She thanked them then left for home as Mike and Ethan started fixing dinner. A short time later the dads came home.

During dinner, the Matthews/Williams and the Matthews/Morison house discussed the two boys' situation and how they could help. DMoney told the boys he needed to make some calls and get back to them. He had a couple of places in mind but wasn't sure if they were still available. The boys accepted that and the rest of dinner was spent talking about mundane things.

When dinner was over, Gabriel was feeding Tony while helping Alonzo with his homework, Adrian went to his office to call his realtor. He gave her a short explanation of what he was looking for then she told him of some places that just became listed with her agency. He was about to respond when her other line rang so she asked him to hold on and Adrian agreed. Five minutes later she clicked back over and arranged to show him and DMoney who was on the other line of the places that she has for listing.

Wednesday morning the gang met in the student lot before school for Mike and Ethan to tell Calvin about the places that Adrian and DMoney were going to look at for him. None of Calvin's friends had arrived yet and the others didn't care so no one was suspicious. However, one teacher did notice and hoped the boys were settling their differences. He had been one of Mike, Ethan, and Calvin's teachers in junior high and he seen how close they were. It had to take something significant to come between a close friendship like they have. Andrew arrived with his brother half way through and heard the rest of the conversation.

"Good, because dad is beginning to piss me off with his homophobic bullshit. He's gotten worse ever since Mr. Williams and Mr. Matthews reconciled. I don't know how much I can take before I tell him off and out myself."

At that moment Andrew interrupted to ask something he's been wanted to ask for a while. "I can ask my parents if you guys can stay with us, if you want?" He suggested to Calvin and Keith.

"That won't be necessary; I can handle my father even if he doesn't think so." Calvin gently refused Andrew's offer. "He's no threat to me, so I never leave Keith alone with him until he knows more about self-defense. Dad's a good street-fighter, but he's no Bruce Lee. That's why I'm giving him martial arts lesson so he can protect himself."

"Hopefully Dad and/or Uncle Dray will find a place where you can be yourself without having to hide who you really are." Mike said.

Just then Andrew's friends started arriving, so the guys headed inside and went their separate ways.

At Paradise Industry, Adrian called Jeremy Wilson about the Mason boys. After giving him a brief explanation, he asked for his assistance. "That's not my area of expertise; but I know someone who may be able to help." He then gave him the name of his colleague. "If anyone can help, he can."

They talked a while longer before disconnecting. Adrian then called Lamar Washington to see what he has to say. He gave him more details than he gave Jeremy regarding the boys and they discussed how they could help. Twenty minutes later they thought they had covered everything then Adrian left to meet with DMoney and the realtor.

For the next two hours they looked at accommodations for the brothers to live. Only two out of the three they were shown fit their exportations therefore giving them a short list of choices. They asked her to hold the two properties and she agreed so they scheduled another showing. On his way back to the office, Adrian called Gabriel to see if he was ready for the next stage of the plan. Gabriel said he was, but Adrian could hear the preservation in his voice and felt bad over it. Gabriel told him not to feel bad because they should had stopped their vendetta but chose not to and now have to suffer with the consequences. Adrian offered to bring an early lunch for them to have and insisted that he invite Jay to join them. Gabriel couldn't refuse that generous offer so he acquiesced.

At school, the lunch bell had just rung so Mike and Ethan headed to meet up with the others. Just as they got to the cafeteria, they got a text for them to meet after school and for them to bring Alonzo. They quickly replied that they'll be there and sent one to the other recipients then pocket their phones before they got in trouble for using them during school hours.

After lunch, Gabriel and Jayden headed out on their assignment. Adrian kissed Gabriel for luck in hope that it'll calm him down but Gabriel was too emotional although he did appreciate the sentiment. Adrian walked out with them because he was heading back to Paradise Industries and he needed to make some arrangements.

To Be Continued...

Writer's Corner:

Welcome back one and all to another chapter of Where My Heart Belongs. I hope you had enjoyed reading this chapter as much as I did writing it. Now let's get to the summary of this chapter, shall we?

I need to apologize for such a long time between chapters. I was hospitalized after an insulin reaction in March and now I can only type with one hand until they heal.

As suspected, Mike and Ethan's brothers were thrilled of getting another nephew to spoil.

Alonzo challenged Keith in front of his friends to settle their differences once and for all or go their separate ways.

A new character was introduced in this chapter. What will happen between Calvin and Andrew?

We now know the situation between Mike, Ethan, and Calvin as well as Alonzo and Keith that came between their friendships. Will they let bygones be bygones and rekindle their relationships?

What assignment does Gabriel and Jayden have that's making Gabriel emotional and how will he feel afterwards? How will Adrian calm him down later so he wouldn't upset the boys?

I started a new story that ties in with this story. Can anyone guess who and what it relates to?

How many caught the double cliffhanger?

Don't forget to read my other stories. Best Friends located in the Gay/Beginnings section and Malibu Hearts and A Wishful Miracle located in the Gay/High School section of Nifty.

If I had missed anything in my corner, I hope my editor will catch it in her corner. I need to get started on writing the next chapter for you guys to enjoy reading.

So much is going on and not enough time to write it all out! New plots are going to open and some will close. Keep reading the future chapters and enjoy! Please let me know how I'm doing. I look forward to hearing your comments and suggestions at {romeo1.jacobmillertex@gmail.com} thanks.
