Terry lay there in the bed he assumed would be his death bed. This young boy who had already seen so much of it. So much suffering. And now it was to bw his turn. But the strange beautiful man who had taken him from his home of death sat there next to him in what he believed to be his last place of living. This mans home and in the big sumptuous room that he lay in. But the strange and alluring man was now to tell him a tale that he would not believe at first. He would think Damon mad for such lunatic contemplation. But he had little choice but to hear the mans tale. A tale of death and rebirth. A tale of pain and pleasure. And a tale of a creature only told of in old wives tales. "Listen as I tell you dear boy" Damon began "There is no subtle way of confessing who I am. Or what I am for that matter" "I dear Terrance am a vampire" That when Terry began the doubtful glances at the man. But listened to the take that seemed oh so old feom the mans telling. "Yes boy. Believe this true" the vampire stated "I am what many have referred to at the undead" "Yet I am not" "I am if fkesh and bone as you are" "Yet I am not" Then Damon began to tell of who and what vampires really were. And how old they could get. How old he was comapred to a man of his appearance. "To you I am a man of 33 years" "But if I must say my boy Terrance" "My true age is about 276 years to human kind" He said how he was turned at 17. And how vampires aged. Amd how they could die as any plain mortal. "We are indeed immortal. But not eternal my boy" he continued It took Damon some time to explain this to Terry. But the boy did eventually believe him. He explained how the vampire virus that change the human DNA worked. How it slowed down the aging 10 fold or more dependant on the individual. He showed how old scares prior to the change remained. Pulling up his shirt to show a long fold in hia flesh near his ribs. "All things bodily remain save illness" he added "For the virus is the cure of all cures" "Attacking illness and erraticating it at an accelerated pace" Terry then had questions. He had many. "So you do not get sick?" He asked "Oh yes I can my boy" "Illness such as thw one inside you can bring us to bed ridden. " "But it would take a day or two for my system to devour it." "It would leave we weakened and vulnerable" "But it would not kill me" "More of a nuisance like a cold to you" "And it is why I cpuls not save your mother." Terry looked at him again and questioned why? If the vampire virus was so atrong why not risk a few days of nuisance to save her. The only one he had left in the world. How at least she could live on. And he would not be alone. Thats when Terry's tears began again. Thinking that if there was a way to save her that this creature should have tried. But again the vampire explained the vampire virus to him. A grim part of the virus. The change itself, were it to occur. "There is a limit even to my power to save" he said "She was at the final stage of her disease." "And even with the power of my blood coarsing through her" "The change alone would kill her" He again told Terry more of his blood disease and what it does to the human body upon infection. How it tears at the muscle and bone. Snapping, and pulling at it all. In essence restructuring the human form to take on its new power. And how in her last breaths, her pain would be unending And he body would just give up. And how her flesh would just year way at here before his eyes. And he leaned down over Terry in the bed. Almost glowering at him "Would you wish that upon her" he said finally Terry broke to tears again. Now understanding what the man said to him. But then came to fear upon he being inducted into the vampire change. "But will it not kill me too?" He huffed The vampire reach back to Terry's head. He gently strokes it. Pulling back the damp hair in his head from the sweat on him. "For your part. Yes" he said "You must die to be reborn" "But you are still strong Terrence" "It will be but just death. Quick and easy" "Then you will be stronger than you are now" He stroked the boys sweating face with the back of his hand. Feeling the heat in the boy. The heat of the death trying to creep in on Terry. But not rhe vampire death that Damom promised. But the slower most painful death of the horrible affliction eating away at the boy. Terry looked up at the man. This stunning creature that he seemed drawn to. Something he didn't understand, but wanted to be part of the world that Damon lived in. "Yes Damon" he then said "Yes. Please. I wish it" "I wish this" "Good" Damon said "I shall lead you no a knew life my son" "Trust me" His hand glided over the boy again. He then moved in on Terry. Lowering his head down to him. Damon kissed the boys head. Then he moved down his face to his cheek. Kissing it as well. "Trust me?" He asked He looked back into Terry's eyes. Deep into the boys eyes. Seeing the fear he had at that moment. He smiled down in the boy. His hand moved to the nape of the boys neck. Finding the pulsating vein that he would strike. He would feed on. But to also inject the virus into his neck. Terry was scared. There was no certainty to what this man said. Was he being lead to something new. Or just death. He did not know. But he did somehow trust the man. So he just nodded to Damon. Giving him the okay to do what he planned. To make the boy immortal. "Be at piece" Damon said "And soon you will be alive once more" "Be one with me" He kissed Terry's yeah again. Then moved down to his neck. Gazing at the throbbing vein along the boys neck. Hunger entered his head. Need. He smelled the blood running through those veins. The smell much sweeter that clean blood. But still fragrant and delightful. Then he pressed his nose to the soft neck. Taking in the aroma. One last time. He. Pulled back and let his fans decend. Terry glance over to see them. And fear rendered him again. But thats when the vampire bit down. Sinking his fangs into him. There was a sharp sting. Like that of a needle to a finger tip. But then it was a numbness as the vampire virus flowed through his veins. Then a cold. A hard bitter cold began to consume him. Like tiny splintery daggers stabbing at him. Millions of them. "I can't." He started to huff "I - I- I can't breathe" Panic set in as Terry felt the stabbing at his body continue. His chest felt like it was going to explode. Soo much pressure. Then he felt as unconsciousness fell to him. He couldn't breath and his vision was getting hazy. Then he heard a loud pop and crack inside himself. Like his bones were breaking or something. And then the blackness fell. A deep cold blackness. The blackness of death he presumed as he floated inside it. "This way boy" came a distant voice "Listen to me and follow me back" The voice seemed to be of Damon as he lead him through the darkness. And then he felt the pressure return in his chest. His body started to convulse and his breath heaved forward as it returned in a deep gasp. His eyes shot opened and he coughed and turned in the bed. Spitting up a few wads of blood. He coughed for a bit longer as he looked at the bed. Then the floor and wall to where the curtain was. Then up to the man sitting next to his bedside. "Damon" he chirped He looked diffrent some how. This man that revealed to him he was a vampire. His features more prominent. The colors about him stronger, deeper, richer. Then he looked about the room. And it was as if he could see beyond the shadows and gloom. Because this room was dark just moments again. But now it was clear as crystal and everything was seen through new eyes. Damon would explain this to him. How vampire eyes were sharper than that of a hawk. How they could see things mere mortals could not. "Soo ckear" he said. "Almost blinding" "You will acclimate to the new eyes" Damon said He looked to the wall and saw a tiny spider crawling on it. Even through the intricate wall paper he cpuld clearly make out the tiny legs and thorax. As if he were staring right at it from inches away. It was astonishing. And he cpuld also hear it's tiny legs as they touched the paper. A soft tap as each one moved over it. "Wow" he said "I can hear it too" "Yes my dear Terence" Damon said "All your senses are 20 fold stronger." "It helps with the hunt" He still coughed up a bit more blood. And he still felt Ill. But not so much as before. And hus breathing was returning to normal. "You will be yourself within the day" the vampire said "I will have the ward bring you something" "Then later we will talk" He bent over amd kissed the boys forehead. Then Damon got up and left him there in bed. And it was then that Terry was indoctrinated into the world of the vampires.... ...Terry hadn't seen his old vampire friend Dieter in a good 30 years. And although it was but a drop in the bucket in vampire years it's still a bit of time nonetheless. They had stayed close and by one another for near 2 centuries. Especially after Dieter had become a vampire too at Terry's hands. But Dieter wanted to finally be on his own for good those 30 years back now. It was a bittersweet goodbye for Terry. For he was his only long living companion. And others had long ago passed and died. His own maker as well. "I smell something familiar" he said to himself "Dieter" He was out in a hunt one evening when he recognized the scent of his old friend. It lingered in the air as he sniffed for fresh kill. Then he saw his old friend gazing at him from across the street. The man hadn't changed much in 30 years. Save for longer hair. He saw Dieter smile before he crossed. And then the two embraced. "Terry you old fuck" Dieter declared "Its been years" Terry smiled and then the two stopped their hunt to go to a restaurant to reconnect...... +*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+* To be continued
