Chapter One: A Dream It is the Saturday morning and I am glad that I am almost done with school. I was having a great dream about a beautiful being who was just smiling at me and telling me that he loves me and that he was glad he found me. I feel like I have met him before and know him very well but I cant put a finger on it and say from where. As I was thinking about this great being while facing down on my queen bed I realized that it is late in the morning and need to get up to start my weekend. And I really needed to pee. "Alex! Are you up" called my mom. You see our family of 5 always wake up late on Saturday and we have late breakfast. My parents are very cool about it and I guess they get to have their sleep as well. "Yes mom! I am coming down in 10 minutes!" I peed and took my morning dump then flushed. Once I was done brushing my teeth and combed my thick reddish brown hair I was ready to go down have late breakfast. " What took you so long today sunshine?" asked my dad. My dad is quite young, about 40 years old. He and my mom got married in their early twenties but had my brother when they were in high school. But some how they were able to get their college degree and get a good paying job. I admire them a lot and they are great parents. "Good morning to you too dad" I said with sarcasm. "I had a weird but a nice dream and was just thinking about it when I woke up". " Weird dream huh, was it a wet dream?" said my dad with a smirk. "Dad! I am sharing something normal and what do you do but turn it into corny Joke". I turned around saw Jasmine walk in and then she sat down with us and said, "What did I Miss? And what's with wet dreams?' Jasmine is my little sister who goes to same high school as me and 3 years younger. I love my little sister and protect her from high school hormone crazed jocks. You see she is a beautiful girl with same hair as me, blue green eyes, beautiful face, about 5'5, slim, milky white skin and very likable. "Your dad is just being silly this morning," said mom. "You can say that again mother". Dad laughed and said, "What's life without some humor? Right?" asked dad while he was looking around the table. "So honey tell us what did you dream about?" asked mom. You see I share pretty much everything with my family except for one thing, which I am still questioning. "Well, it was about somebody that I have never met and said they found me" I half lied. "By somebody do you mean a boy or a girl?" asked my little clever sister. I blushed a little and said, " It was a boy for sure but I don't know him or ever met him before". I was looking at my breakfast that mom made. She made scramble eggs, hash browns, sliced strawberries and toasted whole wheat bread with almond butter spread. While I was chewing on my toast I kept thinking about that dreamy smile and excitement that I felt when I saw him. " Well, its probably someone you are going to meet son" said dad with a warm smile. I looked up and said "yeah probably". The conversation moved on to everyone's plans for the day. Dad wanted to take us out for dinner later tonight but wanted to do some fishing with me while mom and Jasmine going to do girly stuff like shopping and doing nails and stuff. I think dad misses my older brother Luke. Luke is in college and finishing his degree in ancient mythology and minor in the Hindus civilization. He is into that kind of stuff. Always intrigued by the ancient cultures around the world but the Hindus from South Asia or India is his favorite. He is fascinated by the stories of their Gods and Goddesses and such. He is planning to go to Northern India and then visit Tibet and Bhutan. After breakfast Dad and I went fishing in local lake. We did not catch anything big but few fresh water fish that we can grill for lunch tomorrow. He talked about his work as engineer while I listened. I am not going to lie but I was daydreaming and not focusing on his words or anything. "What's the matter with you today Alex? You have been very quite, are you not enjoying our father and son time?" said dad with concern. " No dad I am, I just have a lot in my mind, you know I am graduating this year and going to college and all". Dad took a deep breath and said, "look son, I know you very well, I know something is bothering you. You know you can speak to me about anything right? Don't you trust me?" " I do trust you dad but honestly I am just thinking about college". I don't think that was convincing but he looked at me with concern and smiled and said " Ok son, don't worry you will be fine in the states and we will visit you as much as we can ok? And you can always let me know when you want to come and see us and I will book a ticket for you, ok?" I looked at my dad with a smile " thanks dad you are the best, I will miss you for sure". After we came back from fishing we took a shower and got dressed for family dinner. It was a very nice Thai restaurant. I think it was called Sawasdee. My family is not afraid to try different types of food from around the world. We pretty much tried all kinds of food. We talked about Luke not being there and me moving to California for college but it wasn't a somber dinner, we really enjoyed the family time outside of our dinning table. We came back home and enjoyed some TV time together. We were pretty tired by midnight so all of us said goodnight and went our separate rooms. Once I entered my room I started to think about the dream I had. I couldn't sleep well that night but I eventually did fall asleep. Sunday was a nice sunny day so I went out and hanged out with my best friends. Mike and Chris have been my friends since grade school. Mike is a tall, chiseled, handsome, chocolate skinned, and overall reliable friend. He is also the basketball star of our school. Chris is a tall, blond, blue eyed, funny, and rugged friend of mine. Chris always makes us laugh. He is also a big softy who plays in our school's football team as tight end while I am the quarterback and the captain is the, pretty boy, runner Marcus. I know, a runner is our captain that is because he is good at strategy and fulling the team together to wins. Going back to school on Monday was as usual not good. I hate Mondays and waking up early to drive to school. I fulled out of our driveway and started to head toward my school. My neighborhood is a quite nice one; we have a mountain near our house with a lot of trees and vegetation and always covered with mist. When it is not sunny, which most of the time, then its rainy and the mountain covered my mist and low hanging clouds. Dad and I like going there for hike. While I was passing by houses in our neighborhood, those have their back toward the mountain; I noticed that a new family moving in the newly vacant house. I wonder who moved into that house. I hope they are nice neighbors. Once I arrived to school I went straight to my class and I have both Mike and Chris there to keep me company. It is our English class so it can get boring. When I moved toward my seat on back of second row I noticed that someone else was occupying the seat on third row and one seat over mine since mike takes one on right side of me on first row and Chris on left; third row. This guy took my breath away. I just stood there and kept looking at him. I don't know how long I was standing there but mike snapped me out of it. "Hey daydreamer you ok? Sit down, Ms. Gushy is here". I looked at Mike and then at this new comer, who is just smiling that dreamy smile at me with those pearl white teeth. I know that face, the face from my dream.
