"I don't think I can" Said Kevin "Things are a bit complicated at the moment" "What do you mean complicated" I asked "What have you done?" "Christine has thrown me out" He said "Why? Did you do something stupid?" I asked He rang off. I tried to call back, but he would not answer. I could not decide whether to call Jim and Stella or Christine. Eventually I decided to call Christine. "Hello Justin" She said "How are you?" "Uhh fine" I said "More importantly how are you? I just tried to call Kevin and he said you threw him out. What did he do?" "Last Monday I came home early and found him in bed with a guy" She said "I couldn't believe it. He was such a skinny runt. If he had to do something like that why in MY bed" "Can I come round?" I said "we can talk properly then" "OK" She said "But come round quickly I have stuff to do" I got Rex to run me over to her house. He stayed outside in the car. A very weepy Christine greeted me atthe door. As soon as I opened the door, she hugged me and started crying. "I can't believe it" She said "Why did he want to sleep with a guy like that" "It's OK" I said stroking her hair "You cry if it helps" I guided her into the lounge and sat down with her by my side. The tears kept coming for several minutes. Finally she wiped her eyes and looked at me "Did you know?" She asked "Not about this. No" I said "I saw him in a car park, and warned him I would tell you if I ever saw him again. I asked if he would see a doctor, but it sounds like he didn't" "What good would a doctor do?" She said "I'm no expert, but I think the problem is mental rather than physical" I said "It's worth a try anyway. I don't think he's very stable. He is split between his love for you and his sexuality" "I'm not convinced" She said "He seemed to be enjoying himself in my bed with that MAN. He certainly wasn't racked with guilt when he was being fucked up the arse" "I don't know then" I said "I just wish he would see sense and make a decision one way or the other". "The decision is already made" Said Christine "The little shit can fuck all the men he wants. I'm done with him. He's not coming back" "Have you spoken to Jim and Stella?" I asked "Yes, they have been great. I can't understand how a wonderful couple like that could bring up a shit like Kevin" "You loved him once" I said "That was then, this is now" She said "Anyway I have things to do. I'll call you when things have settled down" I made my way out and joined Rex in the car "He's such a git" I said "He brought a young guy back and they had sex on Christine's bed. She caught them in the act" "I don't blame her then" Said Rex "It must have been a huge shock" "I'm gonna talk to Kevin as soon as I can" I said # # # I called Kevin several times over the next few days and got no answer. Then one evening he finally answered me "You are persistent" He said "What do you want" "I want you to be happy" I said "Look can we meet - please" "OK same pub then" He said and arranged a time after work I bought two pints again and sat at the same table. Kevin arrived a few minutes late. He looked surprisingly presentable. I was expecting him to be pale and unshaven. "Hi" he said cheerfully "How's it hanging" "Hello Kevin" I said "Why all the formality" he said "Just because we've split up isn't the end of then world" "Are you happy then?" I asked "You have accepted that you have split up?" "Yes for the time being" He said "She'll need me when the boy is born. She'll take me back then. I just have to get back together" "Will you go see a doctor" I said "Yes" He said "If you think it's worth it I'll give it a go. I trust you. I really want to get back with Christine. She means everything to me" "Have you spoken to her" I asked "No she won't answer the phone" He said "Will you talk to her. That's why I agreed to meet you" "OK but you mustn't get your hopes too high" I said "She was pretty angry with you. It was a stupid thing to do" "Yes it was. I won't do it again" He said "I just want Christine and my boy" We ate a pub meal and a second pint, and talked for over an hour. He seemed contrite and willing to try anything to get back with Christine. In the end, I agreed to talk to her, but no more. If Christine still did not want to see Kevin, I would not try to persuade her. So the next day I called Christine and went round. "So you've spoken to him" She said "What did he have to say? What excuses did he make this time?" "None" I said "He wants to talk, and has agreed to go to the doctors, or whatever else you want him to do" "What if I don't want to see him" She said "Do you" I asked "Of course I do" She said "We are soul mates. We have been together since school. I love him and all his faults" "Can I tell him that" I said "No. I'll tell him maybe. I want him back, but I want him just for me" She said "He spoke about your child. How he wants to part of his or her life" I said "Well he is Kevin's too" She said "Look, Lets take it slow. I'll talk to him first and maybe, just maybe, he can come back. I don't want him back if he's gonna pull another stunt like last time". "I'll tell him, and get him to call" I said "OK" She said "Do you think we have a chance?" "I don't know" I said "If the doctor helps with his mental state I think it's possible, but I don't even know if the doctor would be interested" "OK" She said "well thanks for trying. We'll take it slow and see how it turns out" I was excited. It seemed that all was not lost. They actually wanted to get back together again. Maybe they would be prepared to work at it. I called Kevin and he agreed to call Christine the next day. Two days later, I got a call from Christine. "Justin" She said "Thanks for talking to Kevin. I think it might work. We are going to try to get back together again". "That's great news" I said "You gonna take it slow at first?" "Too right" She said "He's sleeping on the couch till we get a new bed. He's gonna get a flat pack one and build it for me" "Good" I said "Let me know how you get on. Has he decided to go to the doctor?" "Yes he's seen a doctor and been referred to a shrink" She said "The doctor seemed quite hopeful that the shrink might be able to help. It's not about being Gay or Bi or straight, it's about getting them all muddled in his head, something like that" "Let's hope it'll help" I said "I'm so happy for you" "Thanks to you" She said "We have one last chance. I don't intend screwing it up. I just hope that Kevin thinks the same" CHAPTER 11 Kevin and Christine met at a local Indian for Sunday supper. Christine did not want us to go in with her, but asked us to wait around a street away "Just in case". Dinner went well and Christine phoned us and told us that Kevin would drive her home. We set off ahead of them and again waited a street away. After sitting in the car for ages watching the light coming from her window we finally decided to stop for the day. "Do you think it will work?" I asked Rex for the umpteenth time. "I truly hope so" He said "but somehow I doubt it. If he has failed over and over in the past, I think he'll fail this time too. I think he's gay and is hanging onto Christine because be can't admit it" "I think he will. He's tasted what it's like without Christine and I think he'll do anything to avoid that again" The conversation went on and on. Our answers were different every time we discussed it. Two days later Christine called. "It's been really good" She said. "We've talked it over and Kevin has gone to see a shrink. He's on some medication and seems really relaxed about things" "Is he still on the sofa" I asked "You little pervert" She said "Yes he is, but we made love last night and he was as good as ever". "I'm glad. Keep it slow, and don't take any nonsense" I said "We'll get there, and of course the baby is nearly due" She said "He's arranged to be there at the birth" "Wow. He's volunteered to watch?" I said "Well kudos to him. You won't find me anywhere near the sight of blood" "Wimp" she said "I hope you'll be there. Kevin has arranged to call Jim and Stella and they will call everyone else" "Keep it up and keep in touch" I said "We're here if you need us "Bye" she said and rang off. We got another call a week later "Justin, great news. I wondered who would want to know and I immediately thought of my little pervert" She said "He built your bed and you shared it for the first time" I said "No. He built it ages ago, but yes we shared the bed last night" She said "Well good for you" I said "Is it OK to have sex while you are pregnant?" "We are very careful. We do it on our side, or doggy-style and it works well." She said "I can't believe I'm telling you this" "You know me. I'm kinky" I said "Well not as kinky as me" She said "I bought a dildo and we tried it out in the shower. I had a go first, then we put a condom on it and I tried it on Kevin. He loved it. He made love to me for ages afterwards" "Wow, even Rex hasn't tried that on me yet" I said "Will you tell him and maybe he'll get the idea" "Do you think a strap-on might work, once the baby has come" She said "You never know" I said "Worth a try" "I'll look on the internet and see what's available" She said "You do that" I said "If it works I'll buy you one for your birthday" "I look forward to that" She said "Got to go now - see you later" "Laters" I said and rang off. # # # Stella rang a month later, while we were making out in front of a horror film. "Christine's in hospital. She's in labour. Get down here quick if you want to be part of it" We quickly finished what we started and spent a few minutes wiping our cum from Rex's chest. I got none on me. "We'll have to sit the other way round" Said Rex "We can wipe cum off your chest easily. It takes ages to get it out of all this damned hair" "Maybe a shower" I said "No chance if we get in the shower, you'll get horny and we'll miss everything" Sniggering I got dressed. Rex threw the cummy facecloth at me and it hit me on the ear. "Now I'll have to wash me ear" I said "Come over here" said Rex and took me in his arms and licked my ear clean "Now I have a boner and a wet ear" I said "I'm gonna have to wear tight undies or I'll get all embarrassed" We arrived at the hospital and went to the reception. We were led to a waiting room and found Jim and Stella, and a friend of Christine's. We all introduced ourselves and sat. "Where's Kevin?" I asked "He's in with her" Said Stella "He's the dad, he should be there at his son's birth" "Do we know for sure it's a boy" I asked "Yes" said Jim "He's gonna be called Kurt" "What a lovely name" Said Rex "Yes" said Stella "and there's no short form, like Kev for Kevin, or Chris for Christine. I like that. I wish we'd have thought about that when we named Kevin" "Have you been here long" I asked "About two hours, but it all started quite a bit before that. They came 30 minutes ago and said she would be done soon" Said Jim "I'm not sure how long soon is though" "Can I get you all a coffee" Said Rex He took their orders and searched in his pocket for change. I gave him some shrapnel from my pocket and he went off to find a vending machine. A few minutes later, he came back with a tray full of coffee and tea. "Help yourself, sugars are this side and you can tell the blacks and whites" Said Rex "Yuck" I said "not wanting to be ungrateful, but this is horrible" "You can get your own next time" Said Rex He took a sip "Ugh. You're right it is horrible" he said "Sorry folks I guess that's why you weren't drinking it before we came. That's disgusting". We drank the coffee anyway. It was hot and wet and gave us something to do and something to moan about. Finally a doctor appeared. "You are the family of Christine and Kevin?" He said We all nodded "The baby and mother are fine" Said the doctor "Kevin is with Christine at the moment but should be out shortly. It's been a tiring labour and Christine will be sleeping for a while. You can see the baby with Kevin" The doctor left and fifteen minutes later Kevin came in. He looked pale and tired. "I have a boy" He said "Christine wants him to be called Kurt. He suits the name, and he looks beautiful" Everyone got up and shook Kevin's hand or hugged him. "Congratulations" said Rex "Though I think Christine probably did most of the work on this one" "She still needed my DNA" said Kevin "and I loved donating it" We all laughed. Rex's laugh seemed forced. He was not very happy for some reason. We all went down a corridor and looked into a ward where Christine slept with Kurt beside here. "The doctors want Christine and Kurt to sleep" Said Kevin. I'm gonna stay and you are all welcome to stay too, but you might as well come back tomorrow morning. Jim and Stella agreed to stay, but the rest of us decided a good night's sleep would be good and left. We promised to be back the next day to see Kurt and Christine. ------------------------ This is a fantasy, entirely fictional.
