Date: Fri, 22 Mar 2013 20:04:23 -0700 (PDT) From: Mack Thomas Subject: Mate (Part 6) Mate Lucas pulled Lisa's sleeping figure further onto his chest. He smiled when heard her let out a sigh of contentment. He had been waiting on her hand and foot much to her resentment, but he absolutely refused to allow to exert herself. He kissed her on the forehead and she let out a little smile which made him smile as well, but he held some fear in his heart. He was in quite a bit of trouble and he needed help, but if they came for him before the rest of Lisa's pack returned they'd both be in big trouble so held his mate protectively while she rested. `Damn!' Anthony swore. He and Brett had found the house, but since it was about five 0' clock they had to find a way to sneak in. After surrounding the area they found no weak spots in the house and were back to square one. `We're going to have to wait until nightfall.' Brett glared at him. `There is no way in hell that I'm leaving my mate in there with that ...' He was cut off by a deadly scare. `I have tolerated your disrespect out of empathy, but you will NOT tolerate it anymore. Is that understood?' Brett dropped his gaze and nodded. He realized that he had overstepped his boundaries and corrected himself. `Now we are going to return home until we are covered by the darkness of night and then we will come and rescue our mates. Brett wanted to object but he nodded his head and followed his alpha. Callum had no clue as to how he and Mack were to escape, and he kept trying to think of a way to get them out of this situation. Mack had fallen asleep, but his body had continued to tremble. Callum wanted to shift, but the chains were so tight that he would've crushed himself so he just held his sleeping best friend as he started to drift himself. The door swung open and startled both of the young men into consciousness. He walked over to Mack and kneeled before him. `Okay my pup your time's up. I'm going to need an answer.' By the time Anthony and Brett arrived home they could smell another lycanthrope on the property. Immediately they ran through the front door and up to the room that Lisa was staying in. As soon as they walked into the room they found Lisa sound asleep and Lucas standing on guard. When he say who they were he immediately calmed, but Anthony and Brett did not. `What are you doing here?!'Anthony snarled, but quickly calmed after taking a whiff. `Y...You told him to come see me.' Lisa said struggling to sit up. `No I didn't, but I see why he came. You guys are mates.' Anthony said. Lisa looked at Lucas angrily and he looked down sheepishly. `I...I lied, but I just had to see you. Please don't be mad.' He whispered. She gestured for him to lean down towards her and kissed him on the cheek. Lucas blushed a little and couldn't help but to smile. He looked up at Anthony and Brett and gained his composure. `Guys we have a huge problem.' He said. Before Mack could answer Callum stood. `I challenge you Gage.' He said. Gage looked at the blonde and smiled. `And what are your demands?' Callum looked at the werewolf with fire in his eyes. `If I win you let us go and you never bother any of us again.' Gage smirked and said. `And if you lose I'm going to fuck you and then kill you.' Callum nodded, never breaking eye contact. Mack shuddered at the thought, but kept his mouth closed. Gage released Callum from his chains and the two squared off in the basement. Callum quickly shifted and gave a ferocious growl. The two circled each other waiting for the right time to strike. Callum knew that if he lost he'd die. `What is it?' Anthony asked although he was pretty sure that he knew what was wrong. `We have a new Alpha in town, and he's ferocious. They call him Ripper and he's come from Miami. He was exiled from his pack for torturing their former Alpha before killing him which was a direct violation of the rules. They chose a new Alpha and Ripper has been going from state to state terrorizing lycanthropes. He heard about our lack of leadership and he's focusing on being that leader.' At this Lucas started to tear up. `H...he killed my entire pack.' At this everyone in the room was stunned. `He is recruiting lycanthropes, but those who oppose him...he kills them.' Callum leaped at Gage and the two toppled over. Callum bit and clawed at Gage's flesh as Gage grappled with the lycanthrope. Surprised by the strength of the pup Gage realized that he'd have to shift to defeat him. He threw Callum off of him the lycanthrope collided with the wall. He started to his painful shifting process, but something odd happened. He couldn't completely shift halfway through the transformation it just stopped. Gage screamed in pain as his shift was put on hold. He thought about what could've been the cause of this and he thought back to the old woman at the magic shop. He remembered her giving a quick prayer before ripping her to shreds, and the smile on her face. `Bitch!' He thought. `She put a spell on me.' Before he knew what hit him Callum had taken him down and ripped a significant amount of flesh from his neck. Brett paced back and forth trying to gather his senses. He was too concerned about his mate to think about this Ripper character. Anthony walked over to his friend and placed a hand on his shoulder. `It is almost nightfall, we need to get ready and Lisa has healed well enough to come with us. I'm know what you're going through and I promise to get your mate back.' Brett nodded and prepared to head back out. Lisa had sent most of the day healing so she was fine by nightfall and she wanted Lucas to come with them. Anthony approved the request and the four lycanthropes left to retrieve Callum and Mack. Gage fell to the floor and Callum immediately capitalized on it. He bent down and assaulted Gage biting and clawing at everything that he could. He only stopped once Gage had stopped resisting. He got off of the wounded werewolf and shifted back to his human form. `I won, now we get our freedom.' Callum said and turned around and walked towards Mack. Gage was down, but not out and he was finally able to completely shift. He lunged out and assaulted Callum from behind. Callum was completely defenseless and was mauled ferociously. Gage flipped Callum onto his back and went for the finishing blow. `WAIT!' Gage stopped and looked at him. `I...I made my decision...I lay with you.' The four lycanthropes ran as fast as they can to get to the werewolves house. Brett was almost in a state of paranoia about what his mate must be going through. Anthony had remained strong all day, but he was starting to break. He figured that Mack was okay, because he was a mate. Elsa had warned them that mates would be greatly desired by all creatures, but Callum could be in serious harm. Just the thought of his mate in harm made him run faster. `Don't worry Callum, I'm coming for you.' He thought. Gage quickly leaped off of the half dead lycanthrope. Gage immediately wrapped his muscular arms around Mack pulled him to his chest. `He's acting as if he had not almost murdered my best friend.' Mack thought. Even though he was extremely angry at Callum for attacking him, he was still his best friend and had even risked his life for him. Gage started kissing and sucking on his neck, and Mack felt as though his body was no fire. Every time Gage touched him he felt like washing that body part in bleach, but then a thought occurred to him. `If I can give energy, can I take it away as well?' Mack pushed Gage to the ground and lay on top of him. He leaned down and focused his eye contact focused on sucking the energy out of Gage. Slowly, but surely Gage started to nod off. Mack reached behind his head and pulled a silver seashell out of his locks. He had plenty of shells located in his dreadlocks, but the one silver one was sentimental. Gage's eyes started to drift and was vaguely aware of Mack opening his mouth. He thought that he was about to receive a kiss, but instead Mack dropped the silver shell into his mouth causing an immediate reaction. Brett hauled ass to the front door and kicked it in. He heard what sounded to be a violent strangling sound coming from the basement. He had never heard a noise like that before and it sounded like someone being severely almost fatally tortured. His mind immediately went to the worst place. `Oh no Mack!' He thought as he rushed down the stairs. What he saw at the bottom absolutely shocked him. Anthony didn't reach the house as fast, because he stayed back with Lucas to keep an eye on Lisa. She was doing better, but she was still not at one hundred percent. As an Alpha it was his duty to stay by her side. Once they had arrived to Gage's house the three lycanthropes heard sound coming from the basement. Once they made it down the steps Anthony couldn't believe his eyes. (Five Minutes earlier): Mack dropped the silver shell in Gage's mouth and the silver immediately slipped down his throat and started burning through his flesh. Mack wasn't positive that silver actually hurt werewolves, but he had guessed correctly. Gage pushed him off and tried to spit the shell out, but it was no use. The little shell started burning through his organs at a rapid rate and even as he tried to transform once again he just couldn't heal fast enough. Gage was dying a slow, and very painful death. Mack was a bit dizzy from his landing, but he knew that he had another job to do. He stumbled over to his dying best friend and kneeled by him. He gently placed one hand on his forehead. `It's going to be okay buddy, I promise.' Mack then began to release his energy to save Callum. As Callum began gradually began to heal, Mack's energy rapidly decreased. Callum was much more injured than Mack originally thought, but he continued to give his energy until he fainted. Callum was able to open his eyes, but he was still extremely sore. He turned his eyes to the left to see Mack on the floor unconscious, and then looked to his right to see Gage with blood squirting out of him mouth as the little shell did its work. Brett immediately ran over to Mack and went to see if he was harmed. He physically calmed just at touching his mate. `It's going to be okay. I promise you that it's going to be okay. He wrapped his arms around the unconscious body and sobbed. Anthony came in to see the gruesome sight before him, but all he cared at that moment was Callum. He ran to his lover and checked on him for wounds. Mack had healed them all, but Callum was still practically immobile. `Callum I am so sorry, please tell me that you're okay.' Callum tried to talk, but he couldn't get his lips to form words. He struggled to say `I...I...I...l...l...l...love...y...you.' Callum said as one lone tear fell from his left eye. Lucas and Lisa watched in horror/shock. Lisa had tears falling down her eyes and her right hand covered her mouth as she could only imagine what the two young men must have been through. Lucas was actually surprised that the two of them were actually able to defeat, albeit barely, the fierce werewolf. `Well it seems as though I've underestimated the two of them. The two of them seem to make a pretty damn good team.' He thought. The thought of them being in alliance was oddly comforting now. After seeing that Mack was going to survive Brett ran towards Gage's slowly dying figure. As he got within five feet he was apprehended by Anthony. `They've taken care of him Brett. We do not kill unless it is absolutely necessary, besides if you rip him to shreds he would die an honorable death. Let him die in a pathetic heap of blood like he deserves.' Brett nodded and he and Anthony scooped up their mates and returned home. As the night progressed Callum gained mobility and he started to move around more and more with each passing hour. Once he was able to stand on his own he was able to tell the story of what happened to him and Mack over their time with the werewolf. Even though he was dying Callum was still able to see Mack use the little silver shell on Gage. The other lycanthropes as well as Callum were impressed that Mack was able to come up with such a plan. Brett beamed with pride at the thought of his mate kicking the ass of a werewolf that even four lycanthropes couldn't defeat. While listening to the story Lisa snuggled up to Lucas, and Callum snuggled up to Anthony while Mack was still resting on Brett's chest. Lisa beamed with pride about how much bigger and stronger her pack had grown. Anthony was happy that everyone was together and safe. Brett was proud of his little mate about beating a werewolf, and saving a pack member. Callum was just happy to be home and alive. Lucas on the other hand was on edge, he couldn't get his mind off of Ripper. He saw this man in action and he knew that this fight would be much worse than the werewolf. Especially since many lycanthropes had already submit to him to save their lives. This would be the fight of their life. (Flashback: Ninth grade. Callum was on the ground crying after being attacked by some bullies. He looked up with his glossy blue eyes and saw a beautiful ebony skinned boy reaching out for him. `W...who are you?' he asked shyly. The boy smiled broadly shaking his short dreads. `I'm a friend, but I'm not a bodyguard. I want to help, but you have to defend yourself first. If you choose to fight, I'll always have your back. Now come on and let's get some lunch.' Callum reached into bag and pulled out a silver shell. He reached out and grabbed a lock on the boys head and placed the shell there. `What was that for?' the boy asked. `For being a friend' Callum said with a smile and the two new friends headed towards the cafeteria).
