 Jake stopped the Millworks shop to check things out and make sure that
Parker didn't need anything after his stint in the city helping out, he had
come back and put his full force into the job. Parker was in his office as
usual but he had his head down on his work area, Jake gently walked in not
disturb Parker in case he was asleep.

 Jake looked around the office and it was not as clean as it normally was
there was a bottle water beside the small sofa and a box of soda cracks. He
walked up to Parker and laid his hand on the shoulder and asked, okay how
you feeling and what the hell's going on this place is not the way you
normally keep it.

 Parker looked up at his boss and then turned grabbed the trashcan and
barfed everywhere. You don't need to be in here Sir; I must've caught
something when I was at that hospital, I don't know what it is but I feel
like shit.

 Didn't take Jake just a couple seconds. Okay how far along are you and
have you told him yet? My next question is when are you seeing the doctors.

 Parker looked at Jake; what do you Sir, I'm just nauseous all the time. I
try to eat some crackers and some Clearwater and I throw it right back up,
anything too heavy it doesn't last two seconds and it's chunks everywhere.

 Parker how long ago did it happen, and did you tell him yet that you might
be.

 Parker still looked at Jake and had a total blank expression; what you
mean how long ago and did I tell who, all know it since I got back to the
hospital, I am so sick all the time.

 Boy who did you have sex with and don't deny it because there's plenty of
evidence that states otherwise and how long ago was it.

 Oh, shit I didn't think about that oh no it I can't be, I can't be
carrying it was only the one time, there's just no way.

 Okay talk about it tell me something right now, I need to know boy you're
my responsibility, you're my employee and I've got too much time invested
in this place. I need to know who did it to you.

 Parker started to cry; I did this it's nobody else's fault it's mine I did
this to me. I have no idea what to do.

 Well Parker it's like this first of all we're going to go get you an
appointment, and you are going to the clinic. We are not using the main
doors but the side entrance that way nobody can see you're going see the
new doctor, you're going to have a test just to confirm my suspicions and
you're going to have to tell me first whose baby is it.

 I worked late one Saturday, and the somebody showed up. We had a couple of
drinks because he brought something with him to celebrate a job that we had
just finished. One thing led to another and before I realized it, I shoved
him down and I tore his clothing off I mounted him and I rode him until I
was finished with my aggression. I scared the hell out of him, he gathered
what was left of his clothing and he left and since then he stays away from
me.

 Parker who is him, who did you mount?

 It was Randall, but I can't be pregnant because I didn't go through any
burn process it was my first time to have sex, I wasn't at my cycle yet but
I treated him like oh my, I'm so ashamed of the way I treated him.

 Parker don't worry about Randall he's a big boy you just probably shocked
and surprised him with the aggression. But I can tell you Genmen especially
purebloods don't handle alcohol. That's the reason it is frowned upon here
on the ranch and I'll talk to Randall about that. And as far as you not
being in your cycle and no burn process, thank you alcohol it removes all
that from Genmen. Now were going to go to my jumper and I'm going to drive
over to the clinic I want you to go ahead and ease out like nothing's wrong
and I'll tell the guys out here that you're not feeling wonderful and I'm
taking you to get something good to eat, no more soda cracks.

 Parker left and Jake got on his phone and called Wallace and filled him in
on what he suspected, and that Randall Rogers better have his ass at that
clinic in a very short time. Tell him that he was exposed to a virus and he
needs to come for a test, and not to worry about anyone else just get his
ass over to the clinic and use the side entrance.

As Jake walked out to the jumper he called up to the clinic and asked for a
private room for an exam and the scan to be performed by Dr. Sterling. And
as far as the patient's name, not to worry about it this was supervisor's
privilege.

 Jake got Parker to the side entrance, the tech that was working showed
them to room E-47 so that there would be no disturbance and told Parker to
disrobe and put on a gown.

 Parker came out of the dressing area wearing the gown and set up on the
table. Mr. Jake if I am expecting I can't keep it, number one I don't have
anything. I don't have anywhere else to stay, I'm staying with the Roland's
still, and with Francis due at any moment this is the last thing they need
on their plate another pregnant Genmen in their household.

 Parker just don't worry about it right now, I'm going to take care of
housing, it's about time that you were out of the Roland's house anyway and
as far as saying that if you're pregnant you can't keep it, I want know
what the hell that's about?

 This is not a planned anything Sir, Randall's nowhere around and when I do
catch a glimpse of him, he's gone in a flash. How can anyone attempt to
raise a child like that?

 Dr. Sterling came into the long with his assistant Rupert who was shocked
to see Parker laying on the exam table.

 Jake spoke up; Dr. Sterling it seems that this young man here had a little
incident a while back and he's not feeling the best in fact he's drinking
water and eating soda cracks then throwing it all back up. I suspect that
he's about a month and a half at my best judgment.

 Matt was all professional he took his job seriously he did the normal
routine question and answer which Parker was a little vague on. Young man
I'm going to do exam on you, I will take samples from your vent. I take a
long swab and I insert it inside your vent and I rub it around bring it
back out and a place it in this tube and process it here. If you're not it
will turn red, if you are carrying is going to turn blue. I need to know
have you told the father yet.

 Rupert set up everything and had all the testing kit ready for Matt to
use.

 Dr. Sterling I've made a phone call and the other party to the incident
that occurred is on his way here, he doesn't know anything about this he
has not been told anything in fact he thinks he's coming to be tested for a
virus.

 Rupert remarked; the nine-month virus. It will get you every time you're
exposed to it.

 Matt kind of chuckled; this was the first humor that Rupert had ever
shown.

 Okay Parker before I get started tell me how this all happened.

 As I was telling Mr. Jake, I was working late we had just finished up a
big job and the other person showed up with a couple of beers. I had never
had one and we set on the sofa in my office at the workshop and we consumed
them. Before I knew it, I shoved him backwards I ripped off his clothing
and I rode him until he completed injection of his seed. I took a break and
disengaged from his reproductive organ and sat down beside him, he grabbed
his clothing and ran for the door and left me in the office. I went to
sleep, the next morning I realized something had happened it was a little
foggy at the time, but I fully remember now I forced him down and I took
from him what I wanted. I thought I was safe because it was my first time
and I wasn't on cycle yet, but I forgot about him being human.

 Rupert looked at Parker; you're telling us that you instigated the
intercourse, you ripped Randall's clothing off and you mounted him and you
took from him what you wanted. Talk about being decisive and taking control
of the situation I got hand it to you, you screwed the human.

 A knock come at the door and Jake opened to see who it was, just in time
Randall Rogers you need to be here for the results of the first portion of
the testing.

 A terrified Randall walked into the exam room and almost passed out when
he saw Parker lying on his back with his feet in the air.

 I don't understand what the hell's wrong here what happened how did
anybody get exposed to what?

 Matt was nonchalant about the whole thing; he took the mixing vial and
inserted the swab into it and broke the test kit inside. Within
milliseconds it turned bright blue, he held the vial in his hand and tossed
the whole unit to Randall who caught it.

 What the hell does this mean, it's blue what is it anyhow?

 Rupert looked at Randall, congratulations you two are going to be parents
in 7 ½ months get a grip on yourselves and act like adults now, no
more alcohol, you two have responsibilities to live up to now and as far as
the late nights. They're going a lot longer especially when you're trying
to get a hybrid child to sleep whose got colic because of his human side.

 Parker busted out in tears crying, Randall was literally lost he didn't
know what to do.

 Jake stepped up; Randall about a month and a half ago on a Saturday night
you brought a couple of beers to the office, which is in direct violation
by the way. And the two you celebrated, then things got very dicey and
carried away. This here's the results of a careless, no I mean reckless
action.

 Randall was in total shock, what the hell happened and how did he get
pregnant.

 Well Randall if you don't know how people get pregnant then you need to
start wearing a chastity belt because a vent divided by cock and stirred
vigorously results in ejaculation which in turn brings fertilization of an
egg and that can turn into a baby retorted Rupert.

 Matt was almost ready to explode with laughter when Rupert explain the
simplicity of the situation.

 Jake helped Randall set down before he fell out, but the beers were
nonalcoholic, I made sure that he wasn't exposed to any alcohol plus I
can't have alcohol due to allergic reaction I blackout.

 Well Randall it looks like you got a hold of the real stuff, I don't know
where you got the beers at but it happened and now, we have this happening.

 Matt asked for the scanner so that he could see what was going on with
Parker's insides and how the baby was doing.

 Rupert applied the gel for the scanner to Parker's lower abdomen.

 No sooner than Matt set the wand on Parker's abdomen it was very clear
that there was the development of a child. Well look here guys look at the
screen here's your baby there's the head and eyeball there's his nose,
these little flipper looking things are his arms and down here are his
appendages that will be his legs. We're looking at seven weeks gestation, I
want to make sure everything else is here that he's in the correct place so
I'm going be looking at other places here on your abdomen and running the
scanner across you, you'll get to see your insides if you've never seen
them before.

 As Matt began to move the imaging wand, he saw what looked like a foot, he
kept on moving across and sure enough it was baby number two. Not wanting
to shock either one of the new parents he didn't say anything and shook his
head no to Rupert so he wouldn't say anything he continued on and baby
number three appeared quickly followed by number four. No wonder Parker was
so damn sick, quads on a first time Carry and they were hybrids.

 He finished scanning everything and recording everything then he hit print
for hardcopy. He labeled each child A, B, C and D. Jake's mouth fell open
when he saw what Dr. Stirling was marking on the print out.

 Matt patted Parker on his arm and told him it was all okay and that he
needed to get dressed maybe Randall could help him but when they were
through, he wanted to talk to both of them and Jake in his office to
discuss the pregnancy.

 Rupert congratulated the two, Jake said; I'll see you in the office and
everyone left the new parents to deal with their own.

 Randall looked at Parker; I'm so sorry the beer was marked non-alcoholic I
would have never done anything to put you in danger much less myself you've
got to believe me.

 I believe you Randall, but you gotta know that you didn't cause this. I
literally attacked you in the office you didn't attack me, I ripped your
clothes off I was the aggressor and mounted you, I got what I deserved.

 If you hand me my shirt, I'll put it on but I will need some help putting
my shoes back on, its already hard for me to bend over and put them on.

 Randall help Parker, he wrapped his arm around Parker shoulders as they
walked to Dr. Stirling's private office.

 Rupert was there waiting at the door to show them into the office, he told
them to have a seat and Dr. Stirling would be in in a minute to speak to
them concerning the baby.

 Matt set down and looked at both of the new parents to be. I don't know
what will happen between the two of you, if you will become a couple and
will raise the child as your own or as Parker had suggested possibly
finding a home for him once he arrives.

 Randall looked up and said no way; I was raised in a group home; I was on
the streets most of my life and there's no way any child of mine will have
to live like that period.

 Well there's something else that you two need to know, there is a
situation here involving the baby and it's causing Parker to be very
sensitive and also very sick because of the pregnancy. Now the morning
sickness will pass, it does with all Genmen that suffer from it. I can give
you vitamins and nutrients that will help you with this but, what I'm going
to show you is going to knock you for a loop. This is a photo of your child
and when I show it to you don't be surprised there's nothing wrong with
him, he is forming perfectly and so are his siblings.

 Matt laid the picture of the four children in front of the two parents.

Jake spoke up; You don't have to worry about anything we're arranging
housing for the family. I have spoken to Mr. Z and the Hawthorns, you're
gonna need family support and I believe the Roland's will help with
everything they can once you tell them. But congratulations you are having
quadruplets.

 Parker sat there stunned, poor Randall slid out of the chair and hit the
floor as he passed out. Jake, chuckled and reassured Parker not to worry
about anything it was going be fine, but the hours spent at the office were
going to be scaled back until after the babies were born and he would have
an assistant.

 Jake got an urgent beep on his communicator, headed to the clinic get
there fast, baby arriving. Matt's beeper system went off as did Rupert's,
it was notifying them that Constantine's baby was on the way.

 Matt looked at Jake, it's about half a dozen steps down the hall, you can
wait on him, it won't take long to deliver the baby and if I don't get to
this in a few minutes from now Congratulations.

 Jake was waiting on Constantine when he arrived, it took a couple minutes
to get him into the chair and with a couple of pushes and grunts, young
Julius was making his way out. It took a couple more lite pushes and Julius
was born weighing 11 pounds and 3 ounces. Constantine was doing great as
was the baby. Jake was there with his mate and their new child; Matt told
Constantine that he would need to lay down for a while and rest but within
an hour he could go home with his new family. Within a couple of seconds
Zack came to the door to check on the two and a see how the little one was
doing. Jake called the office to let everyone know that Julius Traylor had
just arrived at 11 lbs. 3 oz. and everyone was doing fine, to continue the
good work and he would see them in the morning.

 Matt was impressed with Rupert's performance in the delivery area, this
guy kept on exceeding All Expectations. Too bad he was genman because he'd
make a hell of a Dr. everything was working out great, he felt that Rupert
might be ready to set in on a surgery in the human world at the
hospital. And he decided that he would talk to Ed about this plus a few of
his colleagues without Rupert's knowledge, kind of a surprise.

 Over the next couple months everything progressed as usual, there were OB
appointments to be taken care of and scrapes and everything else with the
young ones on the ranch nothing outlandish at all. Matt was growing closer
to Rupert than he even realized.

 Clark was at the ranch visiting for a few days when Matt spoke to him
about taking Rupert to Hawthorne Memorial Medical Center and let him see a
few of the staff members in action. Maybe they would get lucky enough that
he could sit in on a surgery or two, Rupert was very interested in the way
the human body worked on the inside. He was reading every crossed medical
journal and medical procedures book he could get his hands on too.

 Clark thought it was a fantastic idea, as good as Rupert was doing, he
would be a great help there at the ranch when no one else was available if
he had general knowledge and some practical experience.

 Matt was in the office early and he along with Clark were discussing the
future trip, it was agreed that it would take place on Thursday and would
last the entire weekend and the two would return Wednesday.

 Just like clockwork 7:59 AM Rupert walked in the door with 2 cups of
coffee, when he noticed that Dr. Wooten was there, he was embarrassed that
he did not have a 3rd cup to offer but instead gave his to him.

 Clark motioned for Rupert to sit down that the three of them needed to
speak and it was pertinent that he listened.

 Rupert tomorrow morning you and Dr. Stirling are leaving the Z1, you will
be an independent observer and a guest of the faculty of Hawthorne Memorial
Medical Center. For the next few days, you will make rounds with the other
doctors, see patients with the other doctors and you will even set in as an
observer for some very complex human medical procedures within the surgical
department. This is not a vacation, you will be quizzed by every one of the
doctors that you shadow, Dr. Stirling will be there also but you will be in
the care of others at the hospital. Now I would like to ask you if you're
interested.

 Rupert was tongue-tied for the first time; he couldn't hardly say yes fast
enough. The first thing he wanted to know was what time they were leaving,
when they were leaving and how much should he pack.

 Matt spoke up; 6 AM tomorrow morning you will be taken to the Medical
Center by the first transit unit. We will leave our bags in the staff
lounge and start our first day at 8 AM. So, we will have a few minutes
after we arrived a gather ourselves. I don't want you to change anything
about your wardrobe, I want you to show them how we here on the Z1 relax
our patients and make them comfortable with us being there doctors. Just
because you don't have a degree on the wall, don't sell yourself short when
it comes to education, I fall below you and I have to keep on learning to
keep up with you.

 Now I'm not gonna lie to you Rupert, there will be some of those that
won't look on to you kindly and will try to look down their nose at you, be
condescending and down out right rude, but I think if you used proper
diplomacy and the wit that you have you can handle anything they come up
with.

 Dr. Matt I forgot to ask you, who will handle the patient load here, we
just can't leave the Z1 without a doctor.

 Clark Wooten looked at Rupert then remarked; what am I chopped rackknar, I
thought I had a little deal behind my name here that says I'm a MD OB/GYN.

 Rupert blushed, I'm sorry Dr. Wooten I forgot about you sitting here, I
was so enthralled by what I was being told, this wonderful chance that has
been bestowed upon me, you escaped my mind and nothing ever does.

 Clark chuckled; it's okay Rupert I tell you what today, I'm going to
handle most of the load along with Lex since he's been slacking here
lately, even though he's expecting it's no reason for him to forget his
obligations. At lunch time you are being dismissed to go home and pack
everything up for the trip and don't worry Dr. Matt Stirling will be doing
the same thing no matter what he thinks. I would like for both of you to
enjoy yourselves have a great time and represent the Z1 with pride.

 Rupert was on cloud 10 for the rest of the day. He went back to his
sufficiency quarters and opened his closet then realized he had some old
bags the used for market foods but he didn't have anything to put his
clothing in. He thought for a minute and decided to go to the Roland's home
and asked if he could borrow a clothing bags for his trip.

 Francis was surprised to see Rupert at the front door, when Rupert told
Francis exactly what he was needing and why he needed it Francis startled
Rupert when he threw his arms around him and hugged him. Congratulations I
am so honored that you have been chosen to represent the Z1 in this
fantastic opportunity. I have several bags you can pick from don't worry
about it some them are fancier than the others some of them are just
hand-me-downs but we need to make sure that you have a nice one so that you
can impress everyone at that human place. I'm always getting on to Lester
about dragging the old luggage here that people walk off and leave behind
or don't claim but guess what this time his frugalness has come in handy
here is going back to the shed and show you what we've got in storage.

 Rupert was very surprised at the amount of luggage that was stacked in
that building, he located two nice tapestry bags that matched and other
than a little dust they were like new. May I borrow these two pieces right
here possibly?

 Francis looked at Rupert's choice and remembered that there was a third
piece to that a small carry-on that would suffice for a certain piece of
equipment that need to be taken along. He reached over and found the third
piece and handed it to Rupert explained to him what he would put into it if
it were him.

 On my, I had forgotten about my pump system. Can you imagine if I'd gotten
all the way there and I didn't have my pump system to help with the nectar
gathering if I needed to do it.

 Well it looks like you got your luggage and you can go home and start
packing your stuff but at 7 PM you return here for supper it's my decision
to give you a going away meal and don't worry, Dr. Stirling will be here
too because I will not let him say no.

 Rupert thanked him and left out of the door headed down the path to the
front gate with his three pieces of luggage.

 Denton came walking up the pathway and looked back as Rupert walked away,
what's he got bags for?

 You my son will find out tonight, he and the good doctor will be our guest
for supper so don't you be late Denton.

 Yes, dad you don't have to worry about that, I can never be late to see my
boys and their wonderful dad.

 Francis didn't know that tonight, Parker was going to surprise everyone
and tell them he was expecting and just how far along he was in his
pregnancy also who the father was.

 At 5 o'clock Parker arrived home at the Roland's house and went into the
room which he shared with Houston. He was scared shitless not only was he
pregnant but it was by human which made the baby a hybrid, and there wasn't
just one baby there were four of them. He had no doubt that his boss Jake
would make sure that there was suitable housing like he promised one child
was a lot for him to swallow but four of them. And with Randall really step
up to the plate and be the father that the children needed and the mate
that he needed support from. Suddenly a nauseous wave hit him and he felt
like throwing everything up.

 Houston popped his head in the room; Parker don't worry it doesn't last
long I know you're sick as can be but give a little while longer and the
morning sickness will dissipate. I'm not can ask who because it's none of
my business and your secret is safe with me but dad is getting a little
worried and thinks maybe you should need to go see the doctor in case it's
a little something different. You are always so punctual so he doesn't
think that you slipped up and conceived a child but it's okay if you
did. It's just part of being a Genmen we come into cycle and we get
pregnant, we deliver, we get pregnant. We find a partner we get them
pregnant and in turn they get us pregnant again. Parker you need to lay
down you look a little squeamish.

 Parker thanked Houston for his concern and told him that tonight was going
to be a very big night for everyone here. And yes, you're right I just
found out today but don't tell anybody not even your dad, I want to tell
everybody what I found out.

 Houston smiled and bounced out of the room.

 After about a half an hour Parker was feeling better and went into the
main area of the house to speak to Francis; if you don't mind, I've invited
a guest over for supper tonight it's one of the crew leaders that I work
with on the construction crews. I've been ranting and raving about your
food and how well you can cook and he mentioned that he wouldn't mind a
good home-cooked meal for a change so I invited him if it's okay?

 Francis looked around and said; not a big deal I've got a couple of guests
coming over tonight also, the new Dr. and his assistant before they go to
the city for a week on a special assignment at the hospital.

 Parker thought about it for a minute; that's fantastic sounds like it's
going be a great time if you need any help, I can help you. I can't hardly
boil water but I can help set up the table and do other little things if
you tell me what they are.

 Francis told Parker; follow him to the kitchen he needed a few things
handled but for the most part everything was done and it was Houston's job
set the table properly or he would have a talk with his son.

 It was just a few minutes until 7 PM, Dr. Matt Stirling and Rupert had
arrived. Parker was waiting on Randall and he was getting very nervous. A
knock came at the door and Houston answered it, there stood Randall Rogers
holding a bouquet of flowers for the household, he presented them to
Francis and remarked; I was always told never to show up for a dinner
invite without flowers for the head cook of the house.

 Francis thanked him for the flowers it was a very nice gesture and told
his son Houston to get a vase so they could be set on the table.

 Randall set next to Dr. Stirling and breathe a sigh of relief, thank you
for being here in case I need a way out the front door.

 Matt smiled; you're okay and when everything is explained you don't have
to worry about anything.

 Lester remarked; we're still waiting on one other special guest show up
he's running a little bit late because he needed to finalize a few plans
for a special event this will take place. He told me he wanted to stop by
here and talk to everyone here at the house.

 Francis looked at his youngest son, already ahead of you dad I've got
another plate setting on the counter ready to go on the table.

 The doorbell rang and Francis went to the door to invite the unnamed guest
in, he opened the door and there stood Mr. Zack. Francis was all over
himself he was so overwhelmed that the owner showed up at his home to
partake a meal with his family, as humble as it might be, he was glad that
he had plenty.

 Zack went around and shook Matt's hand and kind of glared at Randall. He
hugged Rupert and wish them well on their trip and when he came to Parker,
he hugged him and whispered into his ear that everything was going be okay.

 Parker set beside Randall and took a hold of his hand when he whispered to
him it's time and we need to tell them all. Randall shook his head okay.

 Parker cleared his throat and told everybody to please remain before the
supper table was started, he had an announcement. Everyone was looking at
him until Randall stood up and placed his arm around his waist. I found out
today that I am expecting, it was not planned and I can assure you that it
came just as a shock to both of us as it does to you. You know for a little
while that I have not been feeling my best and I'm usually sick but there's
a very good reason. Dr. Stirling here was the one who examined me and we
found out a lot today.

 In 7 ½ months I'm going to give birth; Randall is the father; he's
made it abundantly clear to me that I won't be doing this alone. I'm not
going to go into how it happened or why it happened but I can tell you that
I'm going to get huge, this is my first carry and of course you know
they're going to be hybrids first-generation.

 Rudy looked at his brother did you say they?

 Yes, big brother I said they, they as in quadruplets. I have photos thanks
to the doctors and so far, so good. Jake is told me I must dial-back my
hours and I will get a new assistant to help me as I progress, and not to
worry were not overcrowded you because he also told me that we will have
housing. I'm terrified yes and it first when I found out that I might be
pregnant it was my initial reaction to find them somewhere to live and
someone else to raise him because I wasn't prepared to be a single parent.

 Randall cleared his throat; but I squashed that idea, I was raised in a
children's home. I can tell you that's not a life that I would ever choose
to place child. Even with the best intentions when it's not your blood
child sometimes there's not a bonding ambience and these are going to be
hybrids, they can be a little more difficult because of their human
aspects. Yes, were going to need a support system, but we will be raising
our children together.

 Rudy looked at Parker; I didn't know you were dating anyone much less this
man, I thought you said he was a pain in your ass.

 Houston and his normal adolescent smart mouth remark; oh, it was a pain
all right but it wasn't in his ass, just bit lower. This remark products
sudden wrap upside the head by his dad.

 Parker chuckled; if I could remember, it be great but let's put it this
way, I was sore for a couple of days, I bet he was even more sore than I
was.

 Everyone was looking at Randall; don't look at me as I don't remember
anything other than waking up the next day and barely being able to walk.

 Lester looked at the two of them; just how can neither one of you remember
anything about the event that produced these children.

 Rupert spoke up; it seems that there was a beverage involved, it was
clearly mislabeled and when it was introduced into both of their systems
one went wild and the other one lost his mind. It should have been
non-alcoholic like it was labeled, but after doing a little research there
was one beer company that inadvertently mixed up their labeling system and
about 20% of the non-alcoholic beer had alcohol in it. You know how alcohol
don't Genman doesn't mix well together and Randall has an allergic reaction

 Francis thought for a minute; it doesn't matter how the babies got here,
all it matters is that they're taking care of properly when they arrive,
parents can work out their differences and raise them together because with
four children at one time it's going be very taxing, Mama Celeste will
probably be glad to help and I imagine the whole community here will pitch
in.

 Zack spoke; Jake and I along with Ed are already working on a plan. We
will have a new pod home in here within the week and it will be expanded to
a four-bedroom unit with three baths. All of the trim work and everything
has already been laid out unbeknownst to Parker. In other words, he
designed the inside of his new home without even realizing it, I'm sneaky
like that. Give us two weeks and it will be finished and it will be
furnished.

 Parker couldn't believe what he was hearing and started to break down and
cry, Randall wrapped his arm around him and told him it would be all
right. The babies would have a home, two parents that would love them
unconditionally and the entire Z1 ranch to watch over them.

 Francis smiled; I hate to say this break up a good conversation but the
baby that I'm carrying is hungry, and so am I. I'm going to the table and
I'm eating.

 After everyone went to the table Lester asked Dr. Stirling where they
would be staying while they were in town for the conference.

 Matt smiled reminded Lester again that on informal occasions out of the
office it was preferred that he called them by his name which was Matt, and
answer your question right across the Boulevard from the hospital was a
hotel and arrangements were worked out with them for the conference for all
visiting physicians and their assistants.

 Well that will make it easy just to drop you off and of course I know
exactly where it is to pick you up at the streets are wide enough to get
this transport through without a hitch so how long we all be there.

 Matt responded; we will be there until next Wednesday afternoon when we
disembark and return to the Z1. We have a double room reserved for us so
that both of us can have our privacy at night.

 Houston mumbled out; too bad or y'all could get something going, that was
countered by sharp look from Francis. He's decided not to say anything else
for the fear that his head might fly across the room and bounce off a
couple walls.

 Rupert was definitely wound up, he said that he had all of his clothing
and books packed for the trip, so his bags might be a little bit of a heavy
load.

 The next morning Matt walked up to the transit stop at the Z1 to find
young Rupert waiting. Matt had a simple hang-up garment bag along with his
necessities pouch that contained his razor to shave cream colognes just
bare necessities. Rupert on the other hand had one super jumbo size wheeled
suitcase a midsize case that wasn't much smaller and overnight case.

 What in the world have you got in all that luggage boy asked Matt?

 In the small bag Sir is my pump that I have to have and containers for
storage for my nectar, the second one is my basic clothing along with
plenty of extra vent shields in case of moisture release and the biggest
one over there is books. I've got everything I need to study up wind there
at the hospital.

 Rupert you do realize that the hospital has its own medical library you
don't have to bring your own unless you just want to bring it.

 But Sir a lot of these here are A&P books about Genmen and hybrids just in
case we run across one I have to be prepared. Then there's no medical
journals and my personal journals were all write all of my cliff notes from
patients I've seen with you and everyone else and in case I get to sitting
on a surgery or two I'll be ready.

 Had just shook his head and patted Rupert on the shoulder, my young
protégé be ready to have your eyes opened up to a whole new
world that you've never been in. Stick close to me unless you were assigned
to a fellow staff member, interns and residents do not get to tell you what
to do you take your orders from staff members or myself only unless is the
Chief of Staff Ron Smithers and he's over everyone. But just be your normal
self, Ron already knows that you ask a lot of questions and everyone has
been instructed to answer them for you when you ask because without asking
you will never learn the truth.

 Lester pulled up the transport and open the door, you two young men leave
your bags there and one of our porters will help load them underneath the
storage area and rest sure we don't lose our customers luggage.

 Rupert walked in and asked Lester; where am I allowed to sit at Sir.

 Lester look at Rupert and at the back of the empty transit, anywhere your
heart desires young man you're the first to own and you get choice seats on
this transit Genmen and hybrids are never restricted where their allowed to
sit because we own these transports.

 Rupert almost ran to the back of the bus he was walking so fast and got
into the observation area of the upper deck and took his seat waiting on
Matt to arrive.

 It took Matt a couple more minutes to get to the observation area and he
took a seat next to Rupert. Before he knew it, Rupert had his hand clasped
in his and rubbing it against his face thanking Matt for thinking of him
for this special occasion so that he could learn more from other
professionals in the medical field.

 Matt patted his hand and told him it was all could be just fine, they had
a room and it was a big room double room to huge beds to sleep in it have a
nice walk in shower with a bench in it so that they could relax and if they
were really lucky they got a Jacuzzi tub, that would be even better because
it would help soak up sore muscles and the vibrations of the water would
relax them even more.

 Rupert was like a kid in a candy store looking at everything looking at
farms and ranches as they passed him by waving at people walking down the
sides of the road even though they couldn't see him he still thought they
could. He stood up in his seat as high as he could to look at the city as
it appeared in the distance.

 Everyone, looked at Rupert a couple times, Matt told them not to worry
about it, this was his first time to the city and he was a special
case. Rupert just smiled at everybody and people truly thought he was a
little shy in the head so they left him alone.

 Lester made good time on the transit that morning and arrived early so he
decided to let Rupert and Matt off directly at the hotel. Rupert had
regained his composure and walked off the bus like a proper regal person
would.

 The Porter help retrieve the bags from underneath and they were carried
into the hotel.

 Matt along with Rupert walked up to the front desk to check in, the young
man standing behind the counter had a badge on and his name was Norman
Taylor.

 It didn't take Rupert for just a second to see another sign and it read
"Absolutely no Genmen or hybrids allowed in this establishment". He was
quick to point out to Matt who told him to disregard it but don't publicize
who you actually are.

 Matt told Norman that they were here for the medical conference at
Hawthorne Memorial across the road and we have a double room under the
names of Matt Stirling and Rupert Spinelli.

 Norman looked up after he viewed on his monitor, I'm so sorry sir I have
you here for a queen single and I would upgrade you but there are no other
rooms available. It does have the deluxe bath but it's not the double king
plus suite that you are charged for, I hope the two you don't mind sharing
a bed because there's no portables available either.

 Matt looked at Norman, we reserved a king double sweet and we have a
deluxe queen single room and that's it.

 Rupert stepped in; Norman can we speak off the record for a second. I know
that you're just the front desk clerk and you're the head clerk for this
shift. You have a supervisor that likes to keep his guest happy and since
there was a dismal effort on my behalf and the Z1 ranch's behalf to
accommodate us which is not your problem. But this is my demands so that it
can be made up to us and it'll actually come out only your end better than
our end, Mac he's a slob so we'll need maid service every day, clean linens
throughout the room, hotel supplied robes that will be a complimentary gift
to us when we leave and I don't want any of these small hotel motel bar
soaps I want the deluxe ones out of the king plus rooms, turndown service
and complimentary breakfast in the dining room every morning that we're
here and I believe that that would serve us quite well. We'll check into
the room only if these accommodations can be met by your
management. Anything less and we expect a full refund and accommodations at
no charge. And if your upper management has anything at all to complain
about just remind him Hawthorne Memorial is right across the road and you
get a lot of business from them, I would hate for Mr. Ed and Carter
Hawthorne to find out about this little debacle.

 Norman was all smiles, let me go to the manager's office and I will lodge
your complaint and tell him of your remedy for this problem and I'm sure
that we can come up with something that will be pleasing to you both. An
off the record I like you very much you remind me so much of Gregor my
mate, he is not allowed in this place because he's what he is. Norman
turned around and walked away through another door and went to
administrative offices.

 Within five minutes Norman returned to the desk with two key cards and a
smile, all of your accommodations are being met and I even threw in
complementary laundry services while you were here just a help out a little
bit.

 Matt and Rupert thanked the young man, Rupert smiled and replied; that the
hospital they have a nice coffee bar understand maybe if you have a break,
we could all get together and we could meet your mate Gregor.

 Matt spoke up; I've got even better idea than that, maybe we could all
attend dinner one evening as friends getting to know each other. I'm sure
we have some interesting stories and a lot of information that we can share
with you and your mate. Matt slid a piece of paper to Norman folded up,
it's my personal number so you can contact me.

 Norman had a Porter take their luggage up to the room with them to make
sure everything was okay.

 9 o'clock rolled around fast and Matt along with Rupert were at the
hospital checking in getting all of their clearances for Rupert.

 Chief of Staff Ron Smithers walked up to Matt; now would you please
introduce me to the young man that you are always raving about I believe
his name is Rupert Spinelli from the Z1 ranch.

 Matt turned to Rupert and introduced him to Dr. Smithers, who gladly shook
his hand.

 Okay young man how do I just address you. As a Med Tech are just simply as
Rupert Medical Services Provider In-Training like it says on your badge.

 Rupert was a little embarrassed; Sir you can address me anyway you want to
I am here to learn from the best so that I can pass it on to the rest of
the individuals who live in or around the Z1 and Hawthorne Ranches.

 Well Rupert; one night you and Matt will have to attend supper with my
family, they are certainly very interested in meeting you. Never in my life
would I have ever expected to meet such a gifted and talented young genman
who is taking to the medical profession as you have. You are a shining
example of what Genmen are capable of doing when given the opportunity to
learn. You will no doubt meet the ones that will be jealous because of your
special ability of retention of learning, but that only means that they
have to work harder to make themselves important.

 The auditorium was being made ready and everyone was going inside, Chief
of Staff Smithers showed Matt and Rupert two were there seats were down in
front. It'll be easier when I introduce you later on but first, I have
things to attend. Need to get this show running.

 Rupert was setting taking some cliff notes drawing a diagram of the
auditorium and where everything was placed and who set where in the front
when a very nice-looking young man dressed in a white jacket took the seat
beside him, Rupert smiled and said hello young man looked at him and looked
away.

 These actions called Matt's eye and he knew there was to be some problem
with this asshole who was now sitting beside Rupert. But he also knew that
Rupert could handle anything this jerk off had to bring to the table.

 Chief of Staff Smithers came back to the front row to check on Rupert Matt
make sure everything was okay, when the young man asked if he could speak
to him. Ron being a sensible man told him to speak his piece.

 Sir I come here to learn the best not the rest, and I wish to be moved
away from this thing that is setting in this chair.

 Ron looked at the audacity of this young man and noticed his name badge,
Caleb Allen let me inform you that you are sitting next to Rupert Spinelli
he is a pure blood genman and a resident of the Z1 ranch where he serves in
the medical department. He is an accomplished draftsman and computer
technician as well as an assistant in the OB/GYN department and minor
medical emergencies. He has more knowledge in his head then you have in
your entire medical libraries that you have studied in. You will never ever
in my presence or anyone else's presence in this hospital referred to him
as a thing. You owe him an apology now young man.

 Rupert cleared his throat; Chief of Staff Smithers, young Caleb here may
not be able or even capable of knowing what an apology is until he gets a
personality transplant or better yet an enema so that he can clean himself
out because he so full of himself.

 Ron wanted to laugh but he had to suppress himself, but others did not as
the whole section laughed out loud Caleb Allen. Ron thought for a minute
and then he had the perfect remedy for the arrogant young Mr. Allen. Rupert
you have your first assistant, he will shadow you he will follow you he
will take notes and learn from you and you will give him assignments that
he has to complete and bring back to you. Mr. Caleb Allen meet your mentor
for the duration of this symposium his name is Mr. Rupert Spinelli and you
will show him respect if you ever expect to put MD behind your name,
because until you pass his requirements you will never meet even the
minimum of mine, you have two choices sit there shut up listen and learn or
get hell out of my damn hospital. This is not up for discussion you think
you've been through a lot in med school, boy you haven't seen anything yet
and if you ever want to be something other than an ambulance wagon
attendant.

 A humiliated Caleb Allen sat in his seat and put his head down and replied
yes or I understand Sir it will never happen again Sir I'm here to learn
not to judge. He turned to Rupert; please accept my most humble apologies
Sir what I did was totally beneath me and I should've never ever prejudged
anyone I just hope that I am worthy enough to meet your requirements Sir.

 Rupert reached into his backpack and pulled out another notebook and told
young Caleb to make sure and take good notes because he would need them in
the future.

 Chief of Staff Smithers spoke to Caleb; you will be in the cafeteria every
morning waiting at a table with your notebook and a fresh cup of coffee for
your mentor, you will follow him every step takes you will shadow him
throughout the day you will even stand outside of the restroom when he goes
to the restroom. If you are not with him you better be doing an errand for
him or I will take great joy of throwing your ass right now this hospital.

 Yes sir, I understand Sir I will do my best to make you proud of me.

 Ron smiled and remarked; he's all yours Rupert mold him the way he needs
to be molded.
