But he would undergo one final adventure that would return him to his original persona by accident, the reason being that River had told him about some really sweet buds they grew up in British Columbia. Kieran felt the craving grow. He really loved smoking out and chilling with his boyfriend, as he played the guitar, some mellow folk tunes while they hung out naked each morning, letting the waves from the surf blow into their sparsely furnished cabin. If he could get his small, delicate, joint-rolling hands on some of the bud that would make the experience even more chill, he was in. But River was more essential to maintain the life of the commune, so Kieran volunteered to make the trip alone, hitch-hiking up along the coast. He carried only the essentials with him, in a small rucksack. He needed very little indeed, just some Vegan food and water, a shirt, when he cared to wear one, maybe a pair of camo shorts with a hemp belt when it was too hot to wear his bellbottoms. He remained mostly barefoot, his leather thongs kept mainly tied to the rucksack, along with his guitar slung across his narrow shoulders. Just a small, unbelievably cute blonde hippie boy letting Nature take care of him to see his mission through. And so a month or so later he found himself in Seattle, a city that seemed vaguely familiar, though it seemed a bit too rainy and urban for the likes of Kieran. Kieran liked the touch of the sun once in a while, especially while surfing, but there was something cool about the fresh atmosphere the rain brought to the sidewalks, and so he neglected to even put on his thongs, happily letting his size 10 bare feet get wet. He was a bit hungry, so he stopped in the nearest place that might not throw him out for the way he was undressed, a coffeehouse that seemed to have quite a few alternative types hanging outside, though none seemed to be hippies. They were smoking cigarettes, checking out the hippie in their midst with a sneer. He wrinkled his nose at the stink of the smoke. Not at all like pot, and Kieran liked keeping himself healthy, staying away from those cancer sticks. Kieran was feeling a bit self-conscious, not at all in his vibe, unaware that the need to change had kicked in. He walked into the shop, his flat tummy grumbling. Anyone could see how slim he was, as he neglected to zip up the rainbow-striped hoodie he wore over his bare torso, leaving his light six-pack abs and tight, flat pecs on full display. His large, blue eyes roved about the crowd, searching for solace, but he was met only by mocking and snickers. The atmosphere in here was very sullen, angsty, the music played very moody emo songs. Already, Kieran was feeling his heart sink, a darkness beginning to overtake him as well. Maybe life wasn't always as great and chill as he always believed. He tried to shake off the gloom, ordering a chai tea and sitting at one of the tables, almost tripping over one of the many skateboards strewn about the floor by the skating crowd. He didn't mind. There was something cool about skateboarding anyway, just an urban form of surfing. He let his tanned, bare foot slide onto the surface of the board, gripping the side with his long toes as he sipped his tea and admired the many fine boys that hung out here. They may not be his style, but beneath their dark attitude and emo fashion they seemed pretty cute. He felt some of it stirring again in him, the life sucks but whatever, dude, attitude, and memories resurfacing of belonging to this crowd, but his hippie self still tried to shake it off. The boys were all slim but firm-muscled, very pale and prone to wear black clothes and makeup, their dyed black hair usually worn almost to their shoulders, the bangs sometimes dyed blonde or some other color, like purple. Piercings were common too, in eyebrows, noses and lips, as well as the more common ears. All had a rather dark energy to them, a mix of emo-skater and Goth, others rather punkish, and they all chose to ignore Kieran but one. God, he was hot, thought the hippie boy, the emo skater staring at him. He wore the typical black skinny jeans, a tight black T-shirt that advertised the band "Panic! At the Disco", and leather straps on each wrist, complementing the black stars on the back of each palm. Like the others, his complexion was nearly snow white, his narrow face framed by salon-cut black hair falling down over his smooth cheeks, a few of the longest bangs dyed white. Black eyeliner ringed each ice-blue eye, but it seemed to be smearing below the eyes, and Kieran could tell the boy had been crying, his bright, crystal eyes watery. He approached Kieran, causing the small boy's heart to beat stronger, probably even visible in his bare chest, as he said, "I don't know why, but I'm sure I know you, dude. You don't look anything like him, but I can see Ryder in there. It's me, dude, Justin, your boy!" The name seared into Kieran's hippie brain, a flood of memories resurfacing, as his eyes also got watery. Fuck, only emo boys cry this easily, he thought, but he was starting to feel more and more like one. This was no place for a hippie anyway, and he had missed his skateboard... He picked up the board at his feet, again looking at the taller boy beside him with his innocent, large blue eyes, and whispered, "Justin?" He shook his bright blonde head, fingering the long braid that River had done for him, but memories of River were already fading, and he knew he needed the boy in front of him. It was ok; he wasn't monogamous anyway. As if an unconscious signal had been given, Justin gently took the smaller boy's slender, tanned arm, his other arm still gripping the skateboard, leading him to the back area, where a curtain would give them some much needed privacy. On the way, Kieran felt his hippie persona rebelling, screaming for him not to do this, that he would lose the totally chill, happy life he had at the commune, but his hippie ideology also told him there was no harm in a hookup; even if he had a boyfriend, it was only natural to do what Nature demanded, and it was certainly demanding evidenced by the straining six-inch cock in his bellbottoms, which he needed to pull down soon. That justification won out, as Justin pulled Kieran behind the curtain and kissed him passionately, their tongues intertwining. The cock strained further, needing release. Justin broke the kiss, staring at the boy hungrily. "God, I've missed you, Ryder. I've kept myself for you. There's been no-one else." Part of Kieran's personality found that laughable, that monogamous romanticism of the emos, but a growing part of him found it sweet and natural, the way things should be between heartfelt lovers. Kieran was rapidly slipping away... Already, his bones seemed to be stretching, his tan fading back to whiteness, as the boys locked tongues again, Justin fumbling with the bellbottoms, pushing them down and off Kieran's naked bottom. Once the jeans were flung aside, they instantly morphed into tight, black skinny jeans, just as Ryder once had. The bare feet were pushing outward and narrowing, also growing whiter, black nail polish beginning to appear on the toes. Soon he was again a size 12, his wiggling feet missing his Vans but knowing for the fun they were having it was going to be easier to forgo fashion for now. Justin peeled the hoodie off of the rapidly changing hippie boy, who was starting to look a lot like his old boyfriend again, pale and perfect. They wrestled their tongues again, Ryder grabbing Justin's cheek with long-fingered hands that also had turned white, also with black nail-polish, which Ryder hadn't sported previously. Because something else was kicking in here, the need to change to an even more extreme emo persona, perhaps actually a bit more Goth and "Scene Boy" than actual skater emo, perhaps in the subconscious hope this doubly dark personality would keep him firmly with Justin this time, more difficult to change. Ryder's cock, freed from those nasty bellbottoms, had slapped up against his firm, pale stomach and finally, growing a bit, was pulled downward so that it wrestled with Justin's. The skater also had removed his tight jeans. Soon the now circumcised cock had grown from six to Ryder's seven and a half, a bit thicker as well, and it was leaking precum onto Justin's taut, skater-worked thighs. Justin's wild blue eyes looked at his boyfriend's restored cock, the blonde pubes now fallen away to reveal the smooth shaved area, with just the hint of the brown stubble that Justin remembered. "My boy's back!" Justin exulted. He roughly pushed the growing Ryder, now almost matching Justin's six feet of height, against the wall, just the type of rough play they used to have before Ryder had moved away. He began pushing his eager cock into the firm, pale butt, needing release. And Ryder needed this as well to initiate the final changes, as he moaned in time to his boyfriend's thrusts. As he gripped the wall, much of his skater strength restored to him, the once slender youth now having the firm, taut muscle of a nineteen-year old skater hunk, the peace symbol tattoo faded away, replaced by a medley of black stars that spread across his long arms. The long, blonde hair quickly lost its hippie braid and grew darker again as it grew a bit shorter, just framing his face and caressing his cheeks perfectly. A few streaks of violet adorned the black bangs, which fell into eyes that were no longer innocent blue but a mysterious, mischievous green. His snakebite piercings had returned to his full, kissable lips, along with a few silver earrings and cuffs. Even a silver ring in one nipple and in his deeply indented navel. A few other black stars traced their way up the side of his hip. Yeah, Ryder was definitely back with a vengeance, an angsty, sullen, poetry-writing boy whose only happiness lay in his boyfriend Justin and their frequent love-making sessions. He opened his green eyes, now outlined thickly in black, and moaned in delight as Justin came into him, followed by Ryder's violent spurting onto the back wall of the coffeehouse. In the afterglow, they kissed passionately again, sucking face as if their life depended on it, none wanting to ever leave the other. Ryder could feel the long-repressed emotions welling up. He was going to be a crying mess for some time, but in this crowd, it was ok and encouraged. He stretched out his long, pale, body with its firm but small skateboarding muscle, as Justin admired the returned body art and those cool, green eyes he always had loved. Then they both shimmied back into black skinny jeans, Ryder finding his old "My Chemical Romance" T-shirt in the pile. He slipped it on so that it hugged his lean torso and left just an inch or so of hip showing, enough to flash his black star tattoos, just above the white studded leather belt that gave at least a touch of bright contrast to the overall black effect. A few leather studded wristbands, his old studded collar, and then his black socks with the checkerboard Vans followed, completing emo Ryder's ensemble. He flicked his polished nails into his hair, making sure it was perfect, before he reapplied the beanie, and then he looked into a nearby mirror, seeing a couple of total emo dudes, though Ryder seemed much more vampiric and even paler than Justin. He could never be a golden hippie boy again; he fucking hated the sun and avoided its damaging rays at all cost. Justin offered him a cigarette from out of the pack in his back pocket. Ryder curled up his pierced lip a little, the closest he could get to a smile: Justin knew just what he needed. It felt like he hadn't had a smoke in a year or more. He took one and lit up, enjoying the first puff. Picking up his beloved skateboard, which he kissed, he then held hands with his restored boyfriend and went out to join the waiting crowd of their peers. Ryder's journey was over for now, but perhaps another time, in another place, the cycle would continue...
