We journeyed another full day before stopping at another village again. But I was not even let into this town. For as Val spoke to the guard as I waited there some feet away, the contempt on the mans face was certain Val came back and just said that they took no sinners to the sacred laws in their village. The man sneered at me as Val spoke to him. He was an ugly man too. Not like the big guard that soared me before. "Now what was his name" I pondered "Ahh yes. Gorham" "He was a good man" "May he be blessed" Val came back over and told me what I already knew. Apologizing again for failing me. But then his companion turned and suggested something. "What of the Trimean valley Val?" He suggested "Hmm." Val then pondered "That is a possibility" I looked at the two beasts. Confused at the name. I had never heard of such a place. But they seemed to know of it. The two looked at one another. "It is far" Val said "Yes. But there are old huts that he can use as shelter" I looked at them and asked what they were talking about. Val turned back and said there was a valley that was several days strip. It was an old human villages that was abandoned thousands of years ago. "Stories tell it was the human habitat prior to the start of your beliefs in gods" Val said "What"!! I crowed Then he decided to tell me the story handed down to his kind for thousands if years as well. How the human creature once was the dominant creature so long ago. And the beasts were relegated to slaves and such. "We were so few" he said "But then came the cataclysm that ended their reign" "When they believed a God fell to earth and nearly wiped out the humans." Val continued on that's when the sacred scrolls were started. How we as a human species started to believe in gods and such "But the truth is further than what you have been told my boy" he continued He then explained how there were no gods that fell to earth. How it was a comet that struck the world. A comet that wiped out their cities. How it was the readers that remained that began the tales of gods and their deaths. The lowest and poorest were told this to keep them in line. At first I could not believe such a tale. The beasts had to be lying. But in my heart if hearts. That and my utter doubts about my religion made me not push his words away entirely. "I promise to show you" he said "All the answers are there in those ruins" "Come then..we shall go there" "Yes we shall" I said back Then we were off. But he suggested they stop by the ramgards village for supplies . "It is far. So we should have much needed supplies" he said I was surprised that we were actually going to his village. Especially after what he had said before. But he mentioned it was just a quick stop for supplies and such. And I would have to wait outside of it for him. I wanted to see his home, but understood. We arrived at the ramgards village and I was to stay with Tork. Val was to go in and get to his home. He would get some supplies and meet us back here. I saw many other ramgards as they came and went from the gates where I stayed standing. They regarded me for but a briefs moment. But then went on as if I weren't even there. Tork smiled at me as he stood there next to me. "Don't worry" he said "They are just befuddled that you are here" "Its a very rare occasion we have a human around" I saw several makes as they passed me. Some had incredible bodies too. I felt a tingle in my loins as I saw them. A few wearing but the smallest codpiece. They left little to one imagination as to the equipment the beasts had. I found my loins aching for something by the time Val returned. "Sorry for the delay" he said "Its a long journey" "So we should get going" Then we turned and left the home of the ramgards. I looked back at them as they all seemed to glare strangely at me. I looked at Tork and Val. I half smiled at then as we made out up into the hills again. How I wished I could have stayed there in their village. But I understood. "How long did you say the journey is?" I asked him again Val looked at me and then said it was several days. And we would pass through some desolate terrain. He mentioned if where the crater of the cataclysm was. It was but a brief 50 or so miles from the valley they had mentioned. How we would pass through it. How nothing ever grew in the crater. But all areas surrounding it had begun to thrive again after hundreds of years. "Its an astonishing sight" he said Of course I was intrigued..... ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ More to come
