I was but a few hours into my exile when I stopped at a large clearing beyond the forest. I looked around and saw trees, trees and more trees. The mountains loomed in the distance. I grabbed a piece of bread that was in my sachel. It was stale and old. I surmised this was all I was allowed. I figured they wanted me to perish out here. I sat down on the ground as I looked outwards to the vast wilderness before me. The soft tall grasses in the clearing swayed in the breeze that had kicked up. It touched my face, caressing it with its gentle stroke. I slumped down and began to cry again. "What am I to do" I said to myself "I cannot survive out here alone" "These lands have horrible beasts that will kill me" "Why have I been damned for my love" I sat there sobbing for some time, worried over my situation. But that's when I heard sounds and a trumpet. In the distance I saw being moving towards the hills. I jumped up and ran back amongst the trees again. I had to find something to protect myself. That's when I first really looked into my sachel. There I found some items I didn't expect. There was a drinking bag. There was a knife and a few useful items as well. Then I grabbed a looking glass. Something I had not expected to have. But then attached to it in a band wrapped around was a note. I pulled the note from it. It opened it and saw it was a message from Darmon. "I am ever so sorry my son" It started "Your sins are not accepted by the teachings" "And though I helped in you realizing them" "I am bound by the faith" I could not believe that he had betrayed me so. Why would he do this. He was the one who initiate the play. He wanted me, and I wanted him. "I love you" He ended the note with I tossed it to the ground in anger. Cursing Darmon and the faith. "Damn you Darmon!" I cried out "Damn you and God for this" Again I began to cry. Then I seemed to just lay down and curl up into a ball crying myself into a slumber. My head filled with thoughts of my betrayal and my betrayer. But as I looked at his face from my memory of our time together, I again longed for father Darmon. For his touch, For his rod inside me. I woke some hours later. As I sat up I looked up to the sky and the sun was waning and falling to the west. It would be dark soon, and I was hungry. I grabbed for some bread and ate a few more bites. Then I unwrapped one of the other items that Darmon was able to stow into my back. It was some dried meat that I loved to chew on. So I ate some of that as well. "Now to find a place to lay my head down for the night" I said So I grabbed my gear and got up. I then started off again. I had to find a cave or someplace I could hold up in. The nights were cool and I had a small blanket in my back. Not much of a covering in the cold. But if I was in an enclosed space, I could start a fire and huddle next to it in the dark. But all there was was trees, everywhere. I continued to walk for miles and miles. The night was beginning to creep in and I still could not find anywhere to put myself. I feared I would be out in the elements this night. I did find some fallen trees in an area with a lot of brush. I figured that this was where I would spend the night. I crawled into the bushed that flanks the large stump and broken tree. It looked to have been there for ages. "What was that" I said as I heard sounds in the falling night So I dared not start a fire this evening. For fear that what was out there would see it. I ate some more bread and dried meat before curling up against the stump and tree that lay there in the forest. I pulled the blanket over what I could and quietly dozed off again. And to my luck, the night was not bitterly cold. I woke in the morning to squeaking sounds. As I got up I saw a small mouse trying to dig into my bag. i grabbed his tail and pulled him from it. I then tossed him aside. He fell some feet away with a chirp. But he came back towards me. He seemed intent on getting into my bag. "It must be the scent of dried meat" I said to myself But I could not let the mouse have it. It was all I had. And it needed to last me. So I tried to shoe the beast away. "Leave me mouse" I called to it "This is my food" "Leave..." "What..?" Then I hushed myself as I heard the sounds of heavy feet. Fear quickly arose in me. I knew not what it could be. I knew it was large for the heavy sounds it made. I again crouched against the tree stump. Trying to hide myself from what ever it was. But still looked around to see. I saw a few horses as they moved through the forest. they were massive beasts at that. The steeds passed me and I looked at them as the moved on. I then heard voices. I pondered whether to call out to whomever it was. Maybe just someone passing through the forest. Maybe they could help me, Guide me someplace safe. I was going to get up and do so. That's when I saw them. The riders. "Nooo" I stilled myself as looked at them "Who or what are those" I looked up at the riders on the huge horses. They were man beasts. Pale grey humanoid bodies. They were average sized creatures, but they had the heads and horns of a ram. One looked over to his friend and asked him something. There was talk between the two of wolfen in the area. "I hear tell that they are killing cattle" One said to the other I looked at them as they paused there no more than yards from me. The strong muscular legs on them as the sat on their horses. Their strong muscular chests that had pale looking fur on them. And they weren't as hairy as a beast would be. but definitely more than a man. They were stunning creatures. Even their ram like facial features seemed oddly stunning. Then one of them climbed off his horse and down to the ground. as he did I gazed at the loin covering he wore. Nothing more than a curtail cloth draped over the front of him. under it I caught glimpse of a cod piece covering a sizeable lump. Then as he stepped down he reached down and lifted the cloth and adjusted a very large mound. He reached into a sachel hanging from the horses side and pulled out some dried meat strips. he placed one in his nouth and tore a piece of it off. Then he chewed it a bit. His muscular arm held the delicious looking morsel in hand and flexed at his bicep. He then looked up at his friend and patted his horse "I shall survey this area" He said to his friend "Be wary of wolfen Tork" "You as well Val my friend" said the one on the horse Then Tork took off in a flurry of blowing leave. Val just stood there waving away his companion. Then he seemed to turn in my direction. I backed up against the stump again. Hoping he would not see me. Then he grabbed a staff that was in a holster also at the horses side. There was a large arrow head blade at the one end. He grasped it at midway and then placed it to the ground. Then he started off in the other direction from where his friend went. "Come" He told his horse "Let us walk a ways" I watched as he walked away from me. I slowly crawled out of my safe spot as I watched him some ways down now. I needed to see if I could find another village or something. For I could not go back to mine. I believe I had been told of the nearest village of humans from mine was at least 4 days trip to the west. I looked up to the sky and the sun. I watched the shadows on the ground to gauge which way I needed to go. I looked around and surmised it was still mid morning. As shadows were falling to one side of the trees.. This helped me decipher which way was west. So I took a deep breath, grabbed my bag and headed out. I still had a many hours before nightfall, so I made as much haste as I could. I wanted to get as far west as possible before evening came. Then hopes in finding someplace to lay my head in. To try and get some sleep. That first night was tumultuous to say the least. Dreams and horrors that filled my head making me toss and turn the whole night. "I hope I can keep a steady pace" I said to myself "And not lose the shadows." "For they are my guide" It was about mid day that I found myself at a river. I decided to stop and rest. besides the shadows had disappeared as the sun was overhead. I would need to wait at least an hour before I could decipher them again. I went down to the waters edge and refilled my water bag. Then, leaning against a large stone near the shore, I pulled out something to eat. A piece of bread and dried meat. I knew I would soon need to get more food. My rations of what I did have would only help me for a few days at the pace I ate. Then I saw a fish jump in the water. I then thought realized I could get food out here. Small animals and fish were abundant. So with knife in hand I looked around for what I could use and fashioned myself a rod to fish. A large flexible stick would do. Some strong vines fastened to the stick. All I needed was something sharp to use as a hook. I took some stiff wire from the ribs of my sachel and fashioned a hook with it. Raking it across a stone to try and sharpen the tip as best as I could. "Lets see if this works." I said to myself. I attached a piece of my stale bread to the makeshift hook and tossed it to the water. At first it was one failed attempt after another. I would get bites but somehow the fish would free themselves after enough pulling and squirming. I feared my hook was not grabbing to them. And I was losing bread quickly. So I grabbed my hook and bent it some more. Then attached a second piece of wire to it to create a double hook. Then tossed it back into the water. And that was how I caught my first fish. It was fairly small, but it was food. "Success" I shouted "I have caught you" I was ever so pleased with my creation. I put it aside and then started a smell fire. I cleaned and cooked the fish in a skewer I fashioned from stick and then ate my meal. I then tore some remaining strips of fish and placed them in a damp clothe for later. 'Well at least I shall not starve " I said to myself But I still needed to find a place to stay. I was on my way. Trying to stay along the river as much as possible. I was making some fairly good time later in the day when I had to stop. I was upstream some miles from where I had made another stop to catch another fish. Pausing to clean and cook it. Eating a bit and then saving the rest. I also had filled my water bag again. But I was about to leave the familiarity of the river to head up at towards the hills that lead west towards where I knew I would find that other village. As I crossed the river in a shallow area I paused behind some trees as I saw movement in the distance. Had it been something small, like a rabbit or so I would have just continued. But the figures. And there were several were larger. I could not clearly see what they were. Only that they were at least 5 feet or more in height. Dark figures that seemed to be searching for something. "Please go" I said softly to them "I wish not to know who or what you are" I pondered heading back across the river. But thought it best not to move, for their movements were bringing them closer around. I hunkered down against the trees and brush I was near. Praying to what ever gods there were to keep them from me. I glanced through the brush to see them better. The hairy beasts were larger than I had presumed before. More like 6 feet in height. One of then brought his long nose to the air. I then could hear him as he sniffed the air. "Wolfen" I said to myself "Those are wolfen" "And he is smelling the air" Fear enveloped me, for I worried they could smell me. I saw as he raised his hands and pointed in my direction. "The scent is that way" He said "Fish!" the other said My eyes widened in horror. They did smell me. it was the fish catch in my bag. I knew I could not fight them off. So my only option was to run. My heart began to pound in my chest as I took off. Running back towards the shore. it was when I reached it that one of the wolfen say me. He pointed at me as I started across "There. A human" he shouted "He has the fish" "Get him!" I moved across the water as quickly as I could. I was part way across when I looked back to see them at the shore. The thumping in my chest was that of my heart. Pumping blood through me to get my body moving faster. I was panting and heaving as I finally crossed. But the beasts were not far behind, and gaining. I turned and ran into the forest. Trying to move fast through the trees. I then began to cry out for help. Shouting at the top of my lungs. Praying someone would hear my calls. "Help. Help me please!" I yelled "Please someone" I passed through some bushed and then stumbled. falling hard to the ground. "Ughhnn" I huffed as I hit. But I could not pause. No such time to collect myself. I crawled back up and started off again. I turned back through more bushes and ran into a vast fields of tall grass. I pushed through the grass and got no further than a few meters before one of the beast was upon me. I felt his grasp as he reached for my arm. "I have you human" He growled "Nooo!" I screamed as I was pulled down and to the ground. "Noo!" The beast was now over me. HIs big frightening snarling face a few feet from me. He pushed me down to the ground and held me there. Then his comrads showed but moments later. "Good move 'Gal" the one said "We have him now" "Grab his bag. That is the source" The one pulled at my bag and I fought him for it. Screaming and kicking at him. "Leave me beast" I shouted "Leave me" But his big hand grabbed at my throat, then he squeezed. I coughed as he tightened his grip on me. Then his friend yanked the bag from me. "I have it" He declared "Now what to do with this puny human" Said Gal "Kill him" said the third one. The one that had my bag opened it and pulled out the fish. He brought it to his face and inhaled. Luxuriating in the scent of my catch. "Noo that is mine.." I tried to say But Gal again squeezed at my neck. His face then leaned in closer. he then bared his teeth at me. I feared this was it, my doom was here. But that's when I heard a whispering whine. like a bird flying by. Then the one holding my bag was hit with something. He dropped my bag and my wrapped fish. Then he cried out from pain. "Aeeii Owwww" it turned to a howl of pain "There" the other shouted. "To the south. Ramgard" Then Gal released me. He turned and faced his friends assailant. I looked up to see the ram beast I had seen before. 'Val' was his name. He was drawing an arrow on a bow he held. Then he aimed. "Release him wolfen. " he shouted form the distance Gal bare his fangs in a menacing stance. The ramgard moved in closer. still aiming his bow at the beasts. "I have struck your friend, and he bleeds" He said "Shall I drive one of these through your heart beast" "I do not miss" The third wolfen grabbed at Gals arms and pulled at him. "Lets go brother" he said "Mera is injured" Gal growled again. Then turned and growled at me. Then he and his friends ran off back into the forest. Howling at the sky and back at me and the ramgard as I lay there. I sat up, coughing and gasping for breath as the ramgard came closer. He was now standing over me. A muscular and magnificent form. I looked up and from my vantage could see under his loin covering and at the very large mound of something confined inside his codpiece. My loins began to strangely itch. "Are you alright?" He asked. His hand out to help me up........ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ to be continued
