Date: Sun, 7 Apr 2019 23:20:32 +1000 From: Lucas Fan1 Subject: A New Place - #2 Chapter 2: The School Welcome! This is my second chapter. I'm still new to this type of writing, and haven't written for a long time (since I finished high school actually), so forgive me if I'm a little rusty. Please don't forget to donate to nifty if you love reading these stories! I really hope you like this chapter! * * * I woke up at 7:30am, perfect timing. In Australia, schools mostly start between 8:30-9am, which meant a little sleep in for those who live close to school. Unfortunately, I was not one of those people, so I had to be up and ready for the bus to pass by at 8am. Unlike the US, we don't really have school buses, unless you happen to go to a private school, which is the case here. I get up quickly and jump in the shower, no time to sit around, or even to jerk off today. I had prepared my lunch already last night, so all I had to do was shower, breakfast and leave. I felt like my shower was the quickest I've ever had. Normally, I like to chill in the shower, not do anything, but just feel the water hit my back and run down my body. It calmed me in a way that not many other things could. I jumped out of the shower and jumped down the stairs, something I'm definitely going to have to get used to. Mum had made me some toast to eat while I walked to the bus stop with Caleb. "Thanks mum!" I shouted as I walked out the door, mouth stuffed with vegemite toast. "You're welcome sweety! Don't forget to look after your brother!" She shouted back. We walk together in silence to the bus stop, as I was eating my toast. When we arrive at the stop 15 minutes early, we sit and wait for the bus. "So, you ready for today little bro?" "Yeah! I hope that the kids here are nicer than the last school though" "I'm sure they will be, there is a very different culture at this school, and I've heard only good things about it so far, so I'm sure you will be fine!" I give Caleb a hug, and he hugs me back. He squeezes me a little too long for what I'm used to, but he's my brother, so I just let him. After 15 minutes of waiting, the bus arrives. This bus works on a sort of hierarchy of years. The older you are, the further back you sit. This meant that year 5s would sit in the front, while I'll be around the middle. I sat down in a free seat, and put in my earphones. We are not the last stop, but we are not the first, so there were some seats, but the bus was definitely not empty. As the bus continued, more and more kids started to file on, most of them were older kids, who all seemed to know each other, it felt like the senior school (years 9 to 12) were all friends as they all stayed in a large group and were very loud. At one of the stops, not sure which as I was not paying attention, this boy who looked to be about my age came on, and wow, he was cute. He had short, light brown hair, bright green eyes and a few pronounced freckles on his face. He was slim, but not skinny, and had an ass to die for. He had earphones in already, and sat on the seat in front of me. Maybe he was in the year below, either way, probably shouldn't have been thinking about him because he gave me a boner, which I had to pray would go down before we arrived at school. Fortunately it had. When we arrived, I walked with Caleb to the office to sign in. This is what we were told to do on our first day, and the teacher would show us around and help us get settled, or so they said. We walked into the office and to the front desk. "Hello there, may I help you?" Spoke the calm lady. "Uuhh, yeah, I'm Lucas, and this is Caleb, we are new here, and were told to come here when we got to the school". "Of course! Yes, Mr Drover told me about you boys. Here, let me show you around. I'm Mrs Drover, the principal's wife." Mrs Drover took us around the yard, and started to show where each of the classes were. She handed us a book, that contained a map, and our class schedule. By the time the tour had finished, classes had started, and it was about 9:30am. \ We went back to the office to find Mr Drover standing there with two other kids. One looked to be my age, and the other Caleb's. "Hello boys. I would like you to meet your buddies. These guys will help you find out how this school works, and will be your first friend". Yeah right, the boy my age looked bored already, and he had only just got here. My guess was he wanted to get out of class, as if he was from my class, maths was the first one up. "This is Julian, he will be your buddy Caleb. You both have English class first". Julian smiled at Caleb, and told Caleb to follow him, they walked out towards the year 5 area. "And this is James" Mr Drover continued. "He will be your buddy Caleb, you both have maths together, so I suggest you both hop along to that class before you miss too much". James walked ahead and started to the year 8 area, as I was leaving, I looked back and caught Mrs Drover looking a bit annoyed at her husband, she was clearly disapproving of his choice of buddy, and just as the door was closing, I heard him say "He was the only volunteer". Great, what a way to start off my first day at my new school. "Hi, I'm Lucas. I'm---" "Listen, I'm not going to be your buddy. I have no interest in that school crap. I just wanted an excuse to get out of maths for most of the class, as we only have 15 minutes left now". Awesome, the first person I meet is a jerk. We walk back to class fairly slowly, as I didn't know where to go and I guess James didn't want to go to class. This really sucked for me because I actually really liked maths, and was not looking forward to my English class next. We arrived in class and James walked straight to the back and sat back down with his mates, laughing with them, I assumed they all got a kick out of me being the new student, and made a mental note that I would avoid these kids from now on. There was only one seat that was free, and lo and behold, it was in front of the kid from the bus. I doubt he recognised me and it was not like we had talked though, so I didn't say anything and sat down. The teacher, completely undisturbed by the recent addition to the class, continued to talk, finishing up the class, which was simple algebra. As the bell rang, everyone got up to go to the next class, everyone except me and the boy behind me. I was looking at my map for room 304, which had my english class, the boy behind me seemed to be busy finishing a maths question. "Um, excuse me, but, do you know where room 304 is? I have my class there now and I'm not sure where it is, this map isn't very helpful". It was like a deer in headlights. The boy looked up at me in complete shock, like my asking of this question would never have occured in his mind in 1000 years. Then, just as suddenly as he was shocked, his face loosened. "Uh, yeah! You have the same english class as me then, with Ms Hetherford. Follow me", he chucked all his books into his bag and waited by the door for me to catch up. We walked the hall to get to room 304 in pretty much silence. I tried to keep sneaking glances at this boy as we walked, but he was always looking in my direction, and I really didn't want to get beaten up for being gay on my first day of school. "I'm Lucas by the way" "Oh!" The boy sort of jumped, like he wasn't expecting me to talk. "I'm Thomas, you can call me Tom though". He giggled. "Well, here we are." We walked into the room that was roaring with the sound of kids talking about their weekend and their daily lives. There was two seats in the middle, so Tom and I were sitting next to each other, on my right, however, was James. This was going to be an interesting class. The class was rather uneventful due to the teacher mostly talking the whole time, but it was good for me, as James didn't seem to like English either, and I'm pretty sure he would have annoyed me if he had the chance. It was now recess (yes, Australia has recess and lunch all through schooling), I knew this was going to be the hardest part of the day, as where I sit would be important. Unlike America, Australians do not have a cafeteria, rather a canteen to buy food if we want, otherwise just a large yard area, and at this school, it was combined with the junior kids, from years 5 and 6. I walked around looking for somewhere quiet when I heard a voice "hey Lucas!". It was someone I hadn't met yet, but was sitting with Tom. "Hello" "Hi, I'm Corey, one of Tom's friends. You can sit with us if you like." He smiled very wide, surely something was up. Corey looked quite cute as well. He had dirty blonde hair with brown eyes. His hair was a wavvy, curly mess, but it was obviously styled like that. Corey also had a pair of black-rimmed glasses, that made him look both nerdy and cute at the same time, he was a real turn on. "Uh, thanks! I will". I sat down with Corey and Tom, and they continued in their conversations. "So, as I was saying, you should just do it man, who knows what will happen if you do, maybe it will work, and maybe not". Tom however, did not seem to want to continue what they were talking about, because he had turned beet red, and started to splutter. At this, Corey cracked up laughing and started to roll around on the ground. "Shut up Corey" shouted Tom, but he was not really annoyed or anything. "We can talk about this later. So, Luke, where are you from?" This was strange, normally I correct people when the call me Luke, as I would rather Lucas, but when Tom says it, it just feels good, something about the way that he says it just makes sense in my mind, not sure why though. "Um, from a town called Wagga Wagga". "Oh wow, a fair bit away, well, that's fine though mate, it's better down here anyway, no funnel webs." laughed Corey. This was great news to me. Funnel web spiders were horrible death spiders that existed where I lived, but they didn't like the cooler climate of where I moved to, which was a huge pro in my books. Corey and I talked a bit more about the place where I grew up, and why I moved, but I noticed Tom hadn't really said anything during the conversation. "Hey Tommy-boy, are you doing alright mate?" "What? Oh, yeah, I'm fine, just have a lot on my mind right now" "I bet you do" Corey cracked up laughing again, and Tom blushed again, putting his face in his knees. I was not sure what was going on, but pretty sure it was some inside joke that I wouldn't understand. Maybe Tom had a crush on one of the girls in his class, who knows. The next two classes passed uneventful, with History and health being boring as they usually are, lunch however, was interesting. I walked to the are we were sitting at last break, only to find that Tom was crying, with Corey sitting there comforting him. As I got closer, Corey looked up at me and mouthed "Not right now", and I knew that I shouldn't disturb them. I left them and went and ate my lunch by myself near the playground, all the time wondering what was up with Tom. Well, my next class was my chance. Science was a much-loved class for me, and when I turned up, I saw Corey sitting down talking to one of the girls in the class. "Oh hey Lucas! Come sit with us". I walked over and sat down next to Corey, with the girl on his other side. "This is Lucy, she's my sister". "OLDER sister, that is" Lucy smirked. "By ONE MINUTE" Corey exclaimed, both of them breaking into laughter. "Hey Corey, what was up with Tom at lunch today? Do you know why he was upset?" Corey's smile dropped immediately, and Lucy grew curious. "Wait, Tom was crying? Is he ok" "He is fine Lucy, and sorry Lucas, I can't tell you, if I did I'm pretty sure that tom not only would never speak to me again, but he would also kill me". What could be so important that you need to threaten friendship with the secret I thought. Then I remembered that I am gay and that if anyone found out, I'd probably die inside so it makes sense, maybe he likes someone. The class then starts and we didn't really have anymore time for talking as there was a lot of work to do, but we did have to pick a group to start a project, so I was paired with Lucy and Corey, who both seemed like relatively smart people. As this was the last class, as it ended, we were all sent home. I boarded the bus and sat down next to the window about half way through. Not long after I sat down Tom walked on. He walks onto the bus, and gets to about next to me, and looks straight to the back. He is looking at this girl sitting on the back of the bus, with long brown hair, who looked back at him. He then quickly sat down next to me. "Hey Tom". "Hey Lucas. I didn't see you at lunch, what happened?" "Well you were upset and Corey told me to go away" I explained. Tom went red in the face at this news. Evidently he had not known I had seen him at lunch time. "Oh, you saw that, sorry, I was being stupid". "Don't worry about it, everyone is allowed to be upset sometimes, it's not good to keep your emotions all bottled up anyway" "Yeah, I guess you're right" he sniffed a little, but seemed to perk up after hearing this. "So, how was your first day here at school". "Yeah, well it was pretty good, I made at least 2 new friends today, you and Corey". Tom definitely blushed at this one, it made his freckled face way too cute. "Aww shucks, well, you seem like a great kid, I'm sure we will be good friends". The bus stopped, and Tom stood up. "Well, this is my stop, I'll see you tomorrow Luke!" And with that, he was gone. * * * That is the end of chapter 2. Thanks for all your emails guys, keep them coming at chemicalgaming6@gmail.com. I know this chapter had nothing super hot in it, but I promise you chapter 3 will, and it will hopefully be a little longer, as this chapter and the last were more just introductions of characters and the scenes. Next chapter we find out how Caleb's day went, and maybe even why Tom was crying during lunch? Stay tuned to find out more! :) ~LucasFan1
