It wasn't an intentional kick; it happened as Miles turned in his sleep, but the result was the same as an intentional kick would have been—it woke Aiden. It was still dark outside. Aiden took a look at his alarm clock. It read 5:54, which was way too early to get up. Since he was awake and had to pee, he arose from his bed and padded to the bathroom, happy that he didn't have a morning boner. They happened to him on occasion which didn't surprise him. His cousin Chase had told him he would start getting morning wood more and more often as he moved into that mysterious phase that everybody liked talking about—puberty. Aiden took his piss, which was so much easier to do when he didn't have a boner, and climbed back into bed, snuggling up to his naked friend. He thought about what he and Miles had done before they fell asleep. With one slight exception they didn't do anything they hadn't done before. Yet for Aiden it felt really special. The last few days had been hard on the ten-year-old. After his up-and-down day on Thursday he was hoping he wouldn't have to go to school on Friday, but he found himself on the bus Friday morning. He sat next to Kalie, who asked him the question he would be hearing quite a few times during the day. "Where were you yesterday?" The only friend who knew where he was going on Thursday was Gordy. Now he would have to deal with the questions arising from his friends regarding his absence. His dads gave him a stock answer to tell them, which they thought should work just fine without being a lie. "I had a family thing," Aiden told Kalie. This answer was code for, "It's none of your fucking business." "Oh. Is everything okay?" "Yeah, it's all great." They said nothing more the rest of the way to school. Aiden appreciated Kalie recognizing his need for privacy and respecting his silence. Kalie might be a girl, but she was a good friend, he thought. Maybe one of these days I'll take her up on one of her invitations to visit her on the farm where she lived. She's always nice to me, he thought, so maybe I should do what she likes once. He was, as always, oblivious to the giant crush she had on him, unlike his awareness of the crush he and Nolan shared. As he rode to school, he realized he wanted to have an overnight with a friend. He hadn't done much of anything outside of school with his friends since the twins' birthday party. Of all of his friends, the one most likely to get last minute permission for an overnight was Miles. He texted his dads for permission to have a friend spend the night and waited for a reply. Kalie snuck a look the text and wished she could stay overnight with Aiden. After arriving at school, Aiden saw Miles with Mason as the two of them left the boys' room. "Hey, Aiden, you're back," Mason grinned. "Where were you?" "I had a family thing," came Aiden's automatic response. He checked his phone one more time for a response and was pleased to see that both of his dads had texted their approval. "Can you guys spend the night, tonight?" "Tonight? No way I can stay tonight or even tomorrow night," Mason said sadly. "You know how my mom is. She's got to know at least a year of ahead of time," he finished with what he thought was only a slight exaggeration. Miles said he'd check. Since she had an older son, Miles' mother had become an expert on dealing with the last minute nature of tween and teen life. Miles was just reaching that stage where doing things with friends was of high importance and his mother was at the stage where having one or both boys away from home for a night was a nice respite for her and her husband. At lunch, Miles told Aiden it was cool. Through their parents they arranged to be picked up at the school by Larry. He would come by about twenty minutes after school let out. What Aiden didn't know was that Larry and Phil knew that he was still stressed by Keegan's hearing and were pleased that he wanted to spend time with a friend rather than sit around the house sulking as he had done Thursday night. They saw that as the beginning of the healing process. They had even discussed if they might need to have Aiden spend a couple of sessions with Dr. Kelly, the child psychologist who had helped Aiden deal with his mother's death and his new life in Mayfield. What Aiden did know was that sleeping naked with Miles had helped make him feel better. Except for masturbating a couple of times and the make-out session with Nolan, he had almost forgotten about sex and about how nice it was to sleep with a friend. Oh yeah, the sex, Aiden thought. He and Miles were both rock hard when they went under the covers on Aiden's bed. Right after the tuck-in by Larry they grabbed each other's crotches and massaged their friend's cock and balls. They tossed off the covers and Aiden went down on Miles, causing his friend to cum quickly. Miles then sucked Aiden off to his best orgasm in what seemed like forever. "Roll over on your stomach," Miles said. Aiden did as he was asked. After what had happened a few weeks earlier, he wasn't surprised by Miles kissing his ass cheeks. What did surprise him was Miles rubbing on his grommet with his index finger. He moaned in pleasure at the new feeling. "John showed me that," Miles said. "He told me it feels even better to stick your finger all the way into a guy's butthole, but no way I'm gonna do that and I said he couldn't do it to me. But, it still feels pretty good to have your hole rubbed." Aiden wasn't quite ready to return the favor, but he was ready for a spirited sixty-nine. He and Miles came within twenty seconds of each other. They had moved around so much that Miles almost fell out of the bed when he came to a shuddering climax. Aiden finally got his thoughts to slow down and fell back to sleep. When breakfast time came, they went downstairs wearing only long t-shirts and socks. "This is just like me and John do at home now," Miles grinned. "I started doing it just like him right after Christmas." Aiden liked being daring by coming downstairs not dressed by the rules. He liked having a friend like Miles who was willing to stay the night at the last minute and who made him feel good. But even without the sex part, just being with a friend started the process of bringing him out of his "family business" funk. WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 31 Much to the surprise of the regulars at Aiden's lunch table, Muddy sat down in his usual spot—or what had been his usual spot until he suddenly starting sitting with Ed, Autumn, and their friends. Aiden and his friends couldn't figure out what that was about, especially since Muddy had been in two fights with Ed—both of them away from school. "I thought Ed and them were your new friends," Aiden remarked casually as he tried to gauge Muddy's state of mind. "Shut up," Muddy grumbled, eliciting gasps from the boys at the table. "Does this mean you like us again?" Mason asked. Mason was often slow to take a hint. "Shut up, Mason. You're a pansy faggot queer and I never liked you. You should go sit somewhere else." Mason looked like he'd just been slapped in the face. Before he could say anything, Aiden jumped out of his seat and moved quickly around the table and stopped next to Muddy. Aiden looked down at him. "Mason's not going anywhere. You can go sit over there with your new friends if you don't like us." Muddy stood up and now he was looking down at Aiden. At four foot eight he stood five inches taller than Aiden, who looked right up at Muddy and didn't flinch. "You better apologize to Mason or we don't want you sitting here anymore. You've become a real asswaffle, Muddy." "You are not my boss." He looked around the table for support. Miles, Brody, and Gordy told Muddy in a three-way jumble that Aiden was right and he needed to apologize or go. "Mason treats all of his friends good, and you don't," Miles spat out. "I don't think you want to be our friend no more." Before things could escalate further, Matt Richards, who was the assistant lunch and playground supervisor came up behind Aiden and Muddy. Matt was a student at the Kentburg branch of Centralia College and was an alumnus of Mayfield High School. "What's the problem here?" he asked harshly. He lacked the smoothness of the regular supervisor, Mrs. Manke, who was out sick. "Nothing," Aiden said. "Aiden was just talking to Muddy about breakfast," Mason said, which confused everybody. "Breakfast, huh?" Matt asked doubtfully. "Yep, about how good his waffles were, today." That got Miles to start giggling, which started Mason going, and Gordy joined in as well. It sounded to Matt that the situation, whatever it was, had been defused. He ignored the fact that Aiden and Muddy were still toe to toe with each other. "Well, you guys sit down and finish your lunch and go outside," he told them, hoping they would do just that. "It's raining. We have indoor recess, today," Aiden said as he returned to his seat. "Whatever, just eat and go play." This was the first time Matt had been in sole charge of either the lunchroom or the play areas and he wasn't feeling very good about the job he was doing. Muddy grabbed his lunch and stood up. He glared across the table at Aiden and said, "You better be careful, Aiden Miller. Lots of people don't like you." He left and sat next to Ed Schaffer and his buddy Grant Stovey. "I didn't have waffles for breakfast," Aiden grinned, breaking the momentary silence. "I was just reminding Muddy that he is an asswaffle, now," Mason said with a straight face and the entire group broke out into laughter again. None of them noticed Muddy and Ed Schafer glaring at them. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 3 It was finally moving day for the twins. Leslie Hazen had rented a small truck for moving their few belongings to their new apartment. Jeffrey, Nick, and Justin Mercer, a baseball player at the high school who was a friend of Jeffrey and Nick and a senior, had volunteered when Larry asked if they could help. Jeffrey and Nick then "volunteered" Sammy to lend a hand as well. Sammy was not happy about being volunteered, but then Sammy was generally not happy about much of anything. He felt like his life was being watched 24/7, if not more. He resented Marty, his brother, his father, his mother, and his drug and alcohol counselor, whom he had talked to just once, at his orientation. He knew things could be worse; he could have been stuck in a rehab center like Marty or Rich's brother Mike had been. Starting next week, he would be required to attend outpatient treatment at the rehab center in Olympia. The treatment class would meet on Tuesdays and Saturdays, meaning he would have to ride with one of the people he resented. The heavy work would start when the twins' Uncle Jeff came down from Seattle with a truck load of items that the twins' father had placed in storage. It turned out that they were moving at the right time since the twins' father had somehow forgotten to pay the storage fees. Leslie Hazen's goods were going to be moved out of the storage room that coming Monday. Her ex-husband had finally paid the back rent on Friday. He was in a great deal of trouble for being delinquent on his support payments and made sure he was paid up on whatever else he owed his former family. Larry and Aiden arrived at the duplex just before the truck from the trailer park, which Phil was driving. Leslie and her brood were already there. With so much available help, the truck was unloaded quickly. Uncle Jeff arrived soon after and by eleven everything had been moved into the house. The teens were treated to lunch at the Burger Barn after everything was moved in. Leslie and Larry thanked them for their hard work and they took off for Jeffrey and Sammy's house. That afternoon Aiden helped the twins set up their room. The twins were happy to have all of their games, toys, trophies, various posters, and knickknacks, as well as the rest of their clothes, which they were certain would no longer fit. They were half right about the fit. Aiden was invited to spend the night and he happily accepted the invitation. Leslie ordered two large pizzas from The Bear for dinner. She thought two large pizzas would be too much. While they were enough, she did not realize how much three ten-year-old boys could shovel down. What she didn't know was that they were barely scratching the surface when it came to eating capacity. In another year or two she would begin to wonder if it was possible to sate the hunger of growing boys. The twins now had two full-size beds. "One is kinda tight for three," Lenny said. "They're not like Aiden's bed, which is bigger," Lance added. Aiden had a king-size bed. "Well, me and Lance can sleep in one bed and Aiden can sleep in the other one...," Lenny suggested. "...or one of us could sleep alone and the other one sleep with Aiden...," Lance added on. "...which would be more fun than me and Lance sleeping together since we sleep together all the time," Lenny finished. "Which idea do you like, Aiden?" Aiden had to replay the bouncing conversation of the twins, trying to be sure of who said what. "I like Lance's idea," he finally said. "Who do I get to sleep with?" Lenny and Lance looked at each other and wordlessly agreed that Lance would be Aiden's bed buddie. "But, I get him next time," Lenny said. Aiden had no idea how the two decided what was going to happen without saying anything. "We're sleeping naked," Lance said. That was how Aiden got to sixty-nine with Lance for the first time, but Lenny was the one who ended up sleeping with their guest. After Aiden and Lance had their dry orgasms, Lenny asked if he could be sucked by one of them. Aiden went over to Lenny's bed and they were soon in the same position as Aiden and Lance had been in. After their dry orgasms, Aiden ended up staying in Lenny's bed with him and Lenny wrapped up together. "I get him next time," Lance said as nobody moved from his brother's bed. "For sure," Lenny said quietly. Lance knew that his brother meant what he said. THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8 Aiden had never given Valentine's Day much thought. For him, Valentine's cards were only given out at school and all of his teachers had had the same rule: give cards to everybody in class or to nobody in class. This year was different. He had best friends who weren't in his class and he wanted to give them a Valentine's card. But what if they don't want to give me one? he thought. How am I supposed to feel about that? And what if somebody gives me a card, but I never gave them one? Will that make them mad? He decided the best thing to do was to ask Marty and to ask his dads, which is what he ended up doing over the weekend. The advice from all three of the male role models in his life was the same. Don't worry about it. "When I was your age I didn't have a lot of friends, so I never gave them out," Marty told Aiden during a Skype chat. "You've got a ton of friends, so just give out the cards and don't worry about it. Do what you think is right." Aiden decided to give cards to Gordy, Mason, Miles, Brody, Lenny, and Lance. After thinking about it for a couple of minutes, he added Kalie to the list. The toughest decision for him was whether or not to send a card that he would have to mail. On Friday night, he went to the Mayfield High School basketball game against Monte High School. He and his dads arrived at half-time of the junior varsity game. Aiden saw that Miles and Mason were already there. He was happy to see Mason, since his mother didn't usually allow him to attend the basketball games. "She thinks it's dangerous to for me to walk in the dark," Mason once said. "She must think there are zombies hiding behind the bushes or something." Aiden recognized Peter Astor, who played guard for the Mustangs. He noted that Peter was not only a very good basketball player, but that he looked kind of hot in his basketball uniform. As the team broke their huddle for the start of the second half, Peter glanced up into the stands and saw Aiden. The boys locked eyes briefly as Peter noted that Aiden was a sexy looking little boy. Peter turned and went on the floor wondering what that was about—after all, he was supposed to hate Aiden Miller. Peter ended up being the high scorer for the Mustangs with 18 points. He was only a freshman, but he was starring on the JV team. Even though Peter had more than once hassled and bullied him, Aiden was fascinated not only by his play on the floor, but by his looks. After all, Peter had also been nice to him a couple of times. By the time the JV team won their game 51-47, Gordy, Brody, Trent Hallion, and some friends of Aiden's friends had all arrived. The group of boys sat together, ready to cheer on the Mustangs in the varsity game. Aiden nudged Gordy with his elbow. "Look who's sitting together in the end bleachers," he whispered. Gordy looked in that direction and saw Muddy sitting with Ed Schaffer, Grant Stovey, as well as three sixth graders, Barry Bender, Roger Clauson, and Russell. All of the sixth graders had bullied Mason at some time and tried to bully Aiden. "Muddy has really become an asswaffle," Gordy noted. "Worse than that, he's a butt snuffler," Miles said. "And that's even worse than being an asswaffle," Mason added. He felt proud when all the boys shared a high five following his remark. "I thought the twins were coming," Gordy said. "I guess not," Aiden said. "Maybe we should have picked them up." Aiden had forgotten how far away the twins' new house was from the high school, which was on the outskirts of town. "I guess we'll have to help them get here next time." Following the game, which Mayfield won 69-49, many of the boys went to The Bear with their parents or with the parents of a friend for after-game pizza. After a Friday night game, The Bear was always packed, and this Friday was no exception. The people of the Town of Mayfield took their sports seriously, as well as their pizza. When Aiden got home with his dads, he went up to his room, stripped down to his socks, green and blue briefs and a t-shirt. He took Megrez from his shelf and went downstairs to the reading room, where he found Phil and Larry busily reading. He climbed into his favorite recliner, which Phil was currently occupying, and snuggled in close to his dad, setting Megrez on his lap. Aiden got right to the subject he needed advice on. "Can I ask you guys a question?" "Anytime," Phil replied. "Ask away." "Well, you know that Wednesday is Valentine's Day, right?" "Since we purchased a box of cards for you to distribute to your classmates on Wednesday, we deduced that might be the case," Larry replied. "Daddy, I'm serious," Aiden said with the kind of impatient tone that a pubescent boy can muster by instinct. Larry immediately realized his son had taken him down a couple of notches. "I'm sorry, son. As your dad said, ask away." Larry moved from his overstuffed chair to the love seat to give him better eye contact with Aiden as they talked. "Okay, I got my cards for my class and some special ones for Gordy, Mason, Miles, Brody, Lance, and Lenny because they are my best friends," Aiden reminded his dads. "Yes, we discussed that," Phil said. "Plus you have one for the girl on your bus. Kalie, right?" "Yeah, but only because she's my friend and we talk every day, not because she's a girl or something like that." Aiden was trying to make it clear that Kalie was not in any way a girlfriend. "Since we've discussed this, and you apparently decided to distribute the cards to your best friends, I'm not quite sure what the problem is." Aiden sat Megrez up on his lap and stroked the stuffed penguin's head. "I have one more card to give to a friend." "You don't need our permission to do that," Larry said. "I know," Aiden said impatiently, wishing his dads would just be quiet and let him talk. "But, I got a friend who lives in another town and I want to know if it's okay for a boy to, like, mail a Valentine's card to another boy." "Are you talking about Darnell?" "No, we said we weren't going to send each other cards. We'll just sent a Valentine's Day text to each other." Phil and Larry had so expected Darnell to be the boy Aiden was talking about that it took them a moment to connect Aiden with another out-of-town boy. Phil put his arm around Aiden's thin shoulder and said, "Are you talking about Nolan?" Aiden nodded. "What's the problem with sending him a card if he's a friend?" Larry asked. "He might think it's weird since we're both boys." "Just remember what your dad and Marty and I have been telling you—don't worry about it." "If you guys were older, maybe it would be different," Phil added. "But Valentine's Day is as much for friends as it is for couples and the like. If Nolan is your friend, then send him a card as a friend. There is nothing weird about sending a Valentine's card to a good friend." "What if he doesn't send me one?" Phil gave Aiden's shoulder another squeeze. "Then, I guess you won't get a card from him. Don't worry about it." Aiden thanked his dads for their advice, gave them both a hug, and went back up to his room. He picked out what he thought was the nicest card in the group of cards he had. As he started to write a greeting to Nolan on the card he hesitated. Aiden suddenly felt a depth of feelings he had never felt before. He knew that Nolan was more than just a friend – he began admitting to himself that Nolan was also more than just a best friend, but he didn't know exactly how to handle his feelings. Aiden was a bit too young to realize it, but he had felt the feelings of love for someone for the first time. He briefly considered asking Marty for further advice but decided against it. In the end, he wrote a simple "Your best friend, Aiden" on the card and slipped it into the envelope. He wasn't sure how Nolan would react or whether he would like the card he was sending—in spite of what Marty and his dads had told him, he was worried about whether Nolan would send him a card. With perhaps more hope than confidence, he addressed the envelope and got it ready to mail on Monday. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14 At school, Brody said he felt badly about not giving Aiden a card. Aiden gave him the best answer he could think of. "Don't worry about it." He and Kalie had exchanged their cards on the bus on the way to school. Aiden received more than a Valentines card. For one thing, when he handed his card to Kalie, she gave him a peck on the cheek which sent him into a full body blush. She also handed him an invitation to her birthday party on March third. "I'm going to be eleven," she told Aiden in case he couldn't figure it out. Damn, Aiden thought, Kalie isn't just a girl, she's like six months older than I am. Then he realized that because of his September birthday everybody he knew in the fifth grade, except for Mason, was older than him. "I'll have to ask my dads if I can come." There was one thing he needed to know—he paused for a moment before asking, and then decided to go ahead and ask. "Will Autumn be there?" "No, but Brittany is invited." Kalie was reasonably certain that Aiden was okay with Brittany, but she thought she should make sure. "That's okay. She's not so bad when Autumn isn't around." When Aiden got off the bus after school, he quickly checked the mail. His heart had been pounding hard during the entire bus ride home and he didn't know why. When Kalie had started talking during the ride, he gave her a look that said, I don't feel like talking. Kalie was astute enough to know to keep quiet the rest of the trip. Aiden did say good-bye to her, however, as well as to Mrs. Emerson as he got off the bus in front of his house. Aiden went straight for the mailbox and opened it. There was the usual junk mail, their copy of the Sports Weekly newspaper, a couple of letters for his dads, and a larger sized red envelope. The address had obviously been written by a child, which got Aiden's heart racing even harder. He quickly looked at the return address, saw the words Meadow Park, and then the name Nolan Moyer. His knees started to shake and he quickly dashed through the garage into the house. He tore open the envelope and saw a Valentine's Card. He opened it and saw a big star with little red hearts surrounding it. "You are the Big Star in my life," it read. "Be my Valentine." It was signed, "Your best friend, Nolan." Aiden thought he was going to faint he was so excited. He was now even happier he had mailed a card to Nolan. He thought the card Nolan sent was better than the one he'd sent Nolan, but he didn't care, because right there on the card it said, "Your best friend, Nolan." He had written, "Your best friend, Aiden" on the card he'd mailed on Monday. Life simply couldn't be any better than it was at that moment. He left his backpack on the dining room table and took the stairs two at a time to his bedroom. He quickly stripped naked, then lay back on the bed, working to make his cock hard. It didn't take a great deal of effort for him to get erect. Grabbing his bottle of lotion from his top right desk drawer, he lubed up his now rock hard two-and-a-quarter inches and started to furiously masturbate. In his mind he worked on images of him kissing Nolan on his bed, and of his hand snaking inside of Nolan's pants, and moving inside of his underpants. He could almost feel Nolan's cock as he jerked off to images of his new best friend. Aiden's hand was flying along his boner and it didn't take long for his little body to shudder and for his cocklet to quiver and for an orgasm that caused his ass to bounce up and down on his bed. "Nolan is my new best friend," Aiden said aloud. He wondered what Nolan had thought of his card as he fell asleep until his daddy arrived a half-hour later. What Nolan had thought of Aiden's card could be measured by his initial reaction. It could be measured by Nolan madly jerking off. It could be measured by the force of his orgasm as he realized that the only boy he had ever kissed was now a new best friend. What Nolan did do that Aiden hadn't done was have a clear drop squeeze out of his piss slit. When he saw it, he whooped out loud. As small as the drop was, it meant he's just had his first wet cum, just like he had learned would happen. And the best part about his first drop of cum is that he had made it while thinking about Aiden. After all of the fussing and stewing, Aiden ended up thinking he had enjoyed the best Valentine's Day ever. He had his bundle of cards from his classmates, some of them having a personal message of friendship written in them. He received individual cards from Gordy, Miles, Mason, Kalie, the twins—and finally, from Nolan. THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15 "I liked ur card," said the text from Nolan. "I liked urs too," was the reply from Aiden. If it wasn't for the fact that their parents reserved the right to check their texts they might have said more. If they were a couple of years older they might have called and told each other about what they had done after receiving their card. But, they weren't quite there yet in their development. Aiden also enjoyed the Valentine's card Darnell had emailed to him. Aiden had sent Darnell a text decorated with hearts. When Aiden learned that Miles and Gordy had been invited to Kalie's party he made up his mind to go. When Miles and Gordy learned that Aiden had been invited, they made up their minds to go. Such is the life of a ten-year-old boy who has been invited to a girl's birthday party. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 17 Aiden, Mason, Gordy, Miles, Lenny, and Lance were riding to Centralia in the Odyssey. Larry and Phil were taking them to hit in the cages and to practice fielding in the field house. Aiden, Gordy, Miles, and Lenny also worked on pitching in the bullpen under the supervision of Phil. Baseball was getting close, especially for Larry. He had called the first team meeting for the Mayfield Mustangs for Tuesday after school. In Seattle, Chase was disappointed. Since it was President's Day weekend, he had hoped his dad would take him and Hatcher to spend a night or two at Aiden's and maybe at Sammy's. Chase and Sammy had all kinds of sexual exploits planned together and Hatcher was eager to join in. But, Chase's family had too much planned and both of his parents had to work on Friday, giving them a three-day weekend as opposed to the four-day weekend the kids were enjoying. Troy and Sue didn't decide until Wednesday that there would be no trip to Mayfield over the weekend. The fact that it was a last-minute decision was what disappointed Chase. But it wasn't all bad news. After lunch, Troy told Chase and Logan that he would look into going to Mayfield at a time the boys could spend a couple of days with their cousin Aiden. That helped to assuage Chase's disappointment. Still, the weekend wasn't a total loss. Chase and Hatcher fucked each other twice on Thursday night. They went to a movie Friday afternoon. They had talked about making out during the movie if it wasn't too crowded, but when Sue told Chase they had to take Logan with them that ended any chance of making out. But, it didn't stop them from clandestinely holding hands, something that Chase's ever vigilant little brother didn't fail to notice. That night Chase and Hatcher fucked again, but it was not as wild as the night before. Chase fucked Hatcher and since Hatcher hadn't had an orgasm, Chase took care of the problem by sucking him off. Logan knew there was sex going on in his big brother's room and wished he could take part in it even though he wasn't sure just exactly what he would be doing if they let him join in. On Saturday afternoon, after Troy had told his sons he would work with their Uncle Phil and Uncle Larry, Chase and Logan sat in the home theater downstairs and put on a movie. "I want to see those twins again," Logan said. "They're the same age as me and we had fun at Thanksgiving. Their names both start with L like my name does, and I think that's kinda cool. They are Lenny and...um...Lenny and..." "Lance," Chase reminded him." "That's right—Lance." "And when you and Aiden meet with the twins I can mess around with Sammy," Chase said, forgetting that Logan knew what he meant by messing around. He also hoped that Hatcher could go with him and all three of them could mess around. Logan looked around the room for lurking parents and then said: "I saw what you and Hatcher were doing at the movie yesterday." Chase felt his heart shoot up into his throat. "What were we doing?" he asked, hoping that Logan had seen something different than what he thought Logan had seen. "You were holding hands like Hatcher was your girlfriend." That was what Chase was afraid of. How could Logan have seen us? Chase thought. We were being really careful. "We were just playing around," Chase said lamely. "I was waiting for you to kiss or something," Logan told his brother. "That would have been even cooler than holding hands." Where the fuck did he get that idea? Chase thought. He's only nine. Chase brushed aside the thoughts that his little brother was learning about sex from his cousin Aiden, just like Aiden had learned from him, or that Logan had jerked him to an orgasm. Logan moved over to the couch and sat next to his brother. "It's okay if you hold hands with Hatcher. I don't care. I won't tell anybody. I've seen boys kissing, too. You can kiss me if you want." "Logan, I can't kiss you, you're my brother." "So? It's just kissing. Just once, please? Just so I can see what it's like. I made you cum once so you should be able to kiss me." Chase looked at the pleading puppy dog look on his little brother's face and in his brother's eyes. He thought his brother looked so cute—not sexy, just cute. He decided he had turned his brother down too often and maybe it was time to say yes—just this once. Like Logan had just said, "It's just kissing." Chase surprised Logan by leaning into him and placing his lips on his little brother's lips. Logan squeaked as he enjoyed the feel of his brother's lips on his. Chase broke the kiss and smiled at Logan. "That's all there is?" "There's more, but mom and dad could catch us here. If you want more follow me up to my room." Within seconds the two brothers were sitting next to each other on Chase's bed. Chase told Logan what he planned to do. "I heard guys say a French kiss means putting your tongue in somebody's mouth," Logan said, "but I thought they were lying." "Nope. Now, here's how it goes." Chase kissed his brother for the second time, only this time Logan had his mouth open the way his older brother had instructed. He felt his brother's tongue enter his mouth and push against his tongue. Logan pushed back. He knew that some of Chase's spit was mixing with his. He was about to break off the kiss when he felt his brother's right hand go under his t-shirt and rub his tummy and chest. He moaned and then fell back on the bed, which did break the kiss. Logan looked up at his big brother with a grin. "You rubbed me inside my shirt. That must be, like, a sex thing." "Something like that. Did you like the kiss?" Chase asked. "Not really. You had your tongue and your spit in my mouth and that is gross. It felt kinda good, though." "Well, you've asked about people sucking cocks, and that means putting somebody's cock inside your mouth." "That kind of sex is way too gross. I don't know why people do it. But, when you rubbed my chest, that felt really good and wasn't gross." Logan pulled the hem of his t-shirt up to his chin. "You can rub me more if you want." Chase pulled off Logan's t-shirt and did just that, paying special attention to his nine-year-old brother's dime-sized pink nipples. From the way he started squeaking and groaning and squirming, Chase knew he was making Logan feel good. His hand moved down to his brother's belly, causing the younger boy to giggle. "That tickles." Chase said nothing, moving his hand inside the waist band of Logan's soccer shorts and then inside his briefs, his fingers stroking Logan's bare pubic area. Logan sat straight up. "What are you doing?" Before Chase could say anything, Logan answered his own question. "You were going to touch me down there!" "It's what guys do when they mess around," Chase told his brother. "I thought that's what you wanted to do." "It was, but now I don't." Chase could see that his brother was confused. "I'm sorry, Logan. I thought you wanted to mess around." Logan fought back tears. "I want to, but now I'm scared about it." Chase removed his hand, which had been frozen inside of Logan's underpants. "There's nothing to be scared about. If you change your mind, let me know, okay? I promise I won't start anything with you." "Are you mad at me?" "Nope. I was scared about stuff when I was nine, too. Fuck, I was scared when I was ten." Saying that made Chase appreciated his cousin Aiden even more. Aiden had been nervous about doing stuff, but even when he was nine, he had not been scared. "I'll do it, I promise. I just have to not be scared." Chase knew that Logan hadn't been scared back during Thanksgiving. He also understood that Logan was nine and not real sure about stuff. Chase also knew that when Logan said he was ready, he wouldn't hesitate any more. He wanted to be sexy with his little brother and would do it when the time was right. Gordy spent the night with Aiden after the session in the batting cages. That meant mac and cheese that was cooked up by Phil and chocolate chip cookies for dessert that had been baked by Flo, Gordy's mom. After an evening of games, TV watching, chatting baseball with Aiden's dads, snack munching, and getting tucked in, Aiden and Gordy were now naked in Aiden's bed. "Want to mess around?" Aiden asked his best friend. "Let's do the humping thing," Gordy suggested. "With kissing?" "Only way for me to be an expert on how to kiss a girl is to keep getting practice with my BFF." Aiden no longer thought about Gordy's long-standing reluctance to play around. All that mattered now was that Gordy liked doing it. Maybe not as much as Miles or Mason or even Aiden himself liked it, but he had gotten over much of his reluctance. What Aiden did know was that Gordy much preferred sex with him than with Miles or Mason or anyone else. Aiden understood and accepted that. It was like how his friends liked to mess around with Muddy and nobody liked doing it with him. The two preteens put their boners together. As usual, Gordy's was about an inch longer than Aiden's and it was bigger around. Aiden shrugged it off and planted a kiss on Gordy's lips, which soon led to Aiden's tongue entering Gordy's mouth, which soon led to the two friends rubbing their little boners together, which led them to stopping so Aiden could fish out some lotion, which he rubbed on both of their dicks. At that point the kissing continued, the kisses became wilder, the humping grew more frantic, until the two naked friends were wrapped around each other humping and kissing and then cumming, dryly but intensely, first Aiden and then thirty seconds later, Gordy. The boys stayed wrapped together, recovering their breath. "Chase says when you get to puberty the cums get even better, especially when you shoot stuff out," Aiden said. It wasn't the first time he'd said that to Gordy, or his other friends, and it wouldn't be the last. It was like Aiden wanted to remind himself that the best was yet to come both for himself and for his friends. As the cuddling naked boys drifted off to sleep, Aiden wondered what messing around with Nolan would be like while Gordy wondered how different messing around with a girl would be. TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20 Larry picked Tuesday as his meeting day because the basketball team was playing at home so there was no basketball practice. This way, anybody who played basketball and planned to turn out for baseball could make the meeting. Since he expected more than 40 boys to attend the meeting he held it in the auditorium so there would be plenty of room. Most of the schools in the Seamount League had dropped their freshman baseball programs for both budgetary reasons and for not having enough players available to justify having three teams. Mayfield was not one of those schools. Between the Mayfield Parks recreation teams, the various travel teams, and the interest generated by the player-run Mayfield Baseball Club, there was a lot of interest in baseball. Mayfield, Kentburg, Monte, Meadow Park, and Harbor View High Schools still had a freshman baseball program. All of the high schools had JV and varsity teams. Larry noted that having the meeting in the auditorium tempted a few of the players turning out to try to hide in seats as far to the back as they could get away with. He was not surprised to see Peter Astor and two other freshmen take seats almost three-quarters of the way to the back of the auditorium. Peter had done everything he could to avoid Larry. Larry remembered the waves he and Peter had exchanged at Halloween. He knew Peter's was half-hearted, but at least the young teen had acted half-way friendly. Larry also remembered wishing Peter a great vacation right before winter break only to have Peter act like he didn't listen. Larry couldn't help but chuckle knowing that if Peter Astor wanted to display his talents on the Mayfield baseball field he would have to live with the fact that Larry Sanders was the head coach. At the same time, he also knew that Peter wanted nothing more than to display his talents on the Mayfield baseball field and that Peter really was a good athlete – a classic challenge for a coach. "You gentlemen way up there near the top need to come down and join the people who will likely be your teammates," Larry said forcefully. Peter grumbled quietly, hoping Coach Sanders could tell he was unhappy to be asked to move. Knowing which side his bread was buttered on, Peter did move and the two freshmen with him followed. Peter's attitude made him unpopular among many of his peers, but the fact that he was an outstanding athlete helped overcome some of the bad feeling. After sitting in the last occupied row, Peter did his best to feign disinterest. Larry talked to the players about expectations, about when the first turnout would be, about how anyone playing basketball would not have to deal with making any of the teams until after the last basketball game. He also went over the paperwork that had to be filled out, what they needed to bring to practices, what would be provided at practices, proper practice gear, and other sundry items. The JV and freshman coaches passed out the permission slips and health forms that needed to be completed. When the meeting ended, the players were herded to the main door where Larry, Coach Morris, the JV coach, and Coach White, the freshman coach stood. Coach White was also the JV football coach, which Larry thought would give him some leverage with Peter and his two cronies. That was not why he was given the position, but it didn't hurt to have a coach who had already dealt with Peter and his negative attitude. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24 The first Mayfield High School baseball practice of the season started at ten o'clock. There had been 45 students at the meeting and 36 had showed for practice. Five of the missing nine players were excused because they were on the varsity basketball team. Their season was still ongoing with a league playoff game scheduled for Tuesday. Junior varsity, except for the players who were both JV and varsity, and freshman players were expected to be at the practice. One missing player was excused because of illness and the other three were no shows, which all but eliminated them from making the roster. Despite his misgivings, Peter Astor showed up for practice. Aiden, Gordy, and Trent Hallion helped set up practice and take care of equipment. Sammy wanted to help, but he had his drug and alcohol treatment class to attend, which did not have him in a good mood for the weekend. Aiden figured Sammy wasn't missing much. While it wasn't raining, the air felt damp and the sky was a dark gray with a chilly wind blowing across the field. Everyone, from coaches, to players, to ball boys was bundled up. Larry knew what February weather was like and made sure to schedule drills that had everyone moving as much as possible. While the cold bothered Aiden and his friends, baseball was starting and Aiden was happy even as he found himself shivering on occasion. He was wearing long underwear, a sweater, a hoodie, a stocking cap under his baseball hat, and gloves. It didn't feel like baseball, but it was baseball, and as far as Aiden was concerned this was as good as a cold February day could get. March was close and March meant spring was coming. Turnouts for the ten and under travel team would start in late March and early April—the start of spring. Time couldn't go fast enough for Aiden—he was ready for practice and for games and for everything to do with baseball, including helping his daddy with high school practice. Next: First Kisses
