Just like the week before, they had three games to play. Unlike the week before, the reason was not weather related. Before leaving for work, Phil said it was the result of, "Shitty scheduling by the idiots who run the league." "They had to make up the light schedule during graduation week somewhere," Larry pointed out. "There has to be better ways. I mean we have three games this week and then we have league playoffs next week? This is eleven-and-under ball—who has the kind of pitching to get through that?" "Hmmm, how about East Olympia and Kelso?" "Both of whom we beat," Phil pointed out. "Oh well, it is what it is. I'd be putting my pitching eggs into the playoff basket, not into this week's league games. After all, only two teams go on to the Washington State League State tournament, and I think we're good enough to be one of them." "No disagreement from me on that one," Larry grinned. Just as Phil started for the garage, Aiden came down the stairs wearing his t-shirt "skirt" and nothing else but socks. He had just showered after accompanying Phil on his morning run. "Are you guys talking about baseball?" Aiden asked. "You mean there's another subject?" Phil asked. "Not today." Aiden gave his dad a hug. "Have fun at work. Thanks for letting me run with you." "You're the weird kid who set his alarm for it." "I'm not weird. If I did it every day, that would be weird." "I thought you were going to go back to bed." "Not when I'm all sweaty and stuff. I'll take a nap on MY chair later." "Hey, I know I have my name on that chair someplace." "Only in your dreams," Aiden grinned as he headed for the kitchen and food. Phil gave Larry a second good-bye kiss and left for work. After breakfast, Aiden made his bed, took off his t-shirt, went downstairs, grabbed a book off of his shelf in the napping room, sat in what he claimed as his recliner, and fell asleep before even opening the book. Larry came into the room and admired the naked beauty sleeping on the recliner. Knowing that many boys became shy about their bodies as they hit puberty, he couldn't help but wonder how much longer Aiden was going to practice his naturist style of life. Gordy and Miles rode their bikes out to Aiden's house just in time for lunch. Fortunately, Phil always made sure there were either extra sandwiches available or the fixings for sandwiches. He wanted to be prepared for surprise company, a phenomenon what would become even more frequent as Aiden and his friends grew older. The boys skinny dipped after lunch, doing their best to obey Larry's cautions about overexerting themselves. He finally called them out of the pool after an hour of play. "You boys can splash around all you want tomorrow, but you do have a ballgame today." "Dad said we're going to be in the league playoffs no matter what," Aiden reminded his daddy. "Isn't that wonderful," Larry said with more than a hint of sarcasm. "And I say I think it would be great that you...", he looked at Gordy and Miles, "...and your teammates be prepared to play every game on your schedule." Larry gave his son his best teacher glare. "I'm sure that Scott and Connor told you the importance of where you place in the league when it comes to who your playoff opponents will be." "Yes sir, he did," Aiden replied without enthusiasm, but he knew the meaning of his daddy's glare and how to respond to it. He couldn't see what difference it made if they swam some more—they wouldn't be getting so tired they couldn't play. After all, they played okay the week before even after attending camp all day and that was much more tiring than playing around in the pool. Since they couldn't swim, the boys pulled the ping pong table out onto the patio and whacked the ping pong ball around for a while. At three, Gordy said he and Miles had to go. They put on their clothes, thanked Larry for the lunch, and said they'd see everybody at the game. The Yard Goats were scheduled to play the Centralia Scrappers at home, which in this case meant the East Lake Park baseball field. The Scrappers had a 10-7 record while the Goats were 11-6. Even though he had tried acting indifferent to the importance of the game that morning, Aiden knew from his coaches and his dads that beating the Scrappers would help them in how they were scheduled in the league playoff. A win over the Scrappers meant that the Goats would clinch at least fourth place in the league. Because the Scrappers were the toughest of the Goats' last three opponents, Trent was the scheduled starter. Aiden had started on Saturday which made him ineligible to start the game. Scott and Connor saw both Trent and Aiden as number one starters. Trent pitched his best game of the summer, giving up only one run on four hits over five innings as the Goats thumped the Scrappers 9-2. When the Goats scored five runs in the second inning the Goats' parents and fans joked about Trent thinking he'd died and gone to heaven with all of the run support he received. The Goats' bats had certainly heated up, producing 25 runs over their last two games. After the game the twins rode to Aiden's house with Larry and Phil to spend the night. The three boys were soon in the standard dress for summer evenings, underpants with no shirts. Aiden also wore socks, but the twins liked being barefoot. The boys were playing a video game on the big television in the video game room when Larry told them the scores from the rest of the league. The one that concerned them the most was the Kentburg score, an 11-0, five-inning, win over the Monte Bulldogs. That kept the Kentburg team a game ahead of the Goats in the race for third place in the league. If the two teams tied, Mayfield would earn third place since they had defeated Kentburg both times the teams played, albeit one of those wins was by forfeit. Aiden checked on Marty's game and saw that the Travelers had defeated the Tulsa Drillers 6-4 at home. One of the good things about where Marty was playing was that he was in the Central Time Zone. Since that was two hours earlier than Pacific Time, Aiden could get the final score before he went to bed. "How did Marty do?" Lance asked. Even though he and Lenny didn't know Marty personally, through their friendship with Aiden he had become their favorite pro baseball player. "He went two-for-four with a walk. He scored a run and knocked in two." Aiden scrolled down the box score. "Hah," he grinned. "He knocked in both of those runs with a home run. But that means he only accounted for two runs." "How?" Lenny asked. "If he scored a run and knocked in two runs, that equals three runs." "But, when he hit his home run since he knocked himself in you don't count the run he scored since his home run only accounted for one run," Aiden replied. "I don't get it." "Okay, if you hit a home run with nobody on base, how many runs does your team score?" "One," Lance called out. "Oh, now I get it," Lenny said. "Your team just gets one run for just your home run, so it, um..., it..." "...only accounts for one run," Lance finished. "Dang, Aiden, you're so smart to figure that out," Lenny said. Aiden often impressed the twins with his knowledge of the game. "I didn't figure nothing out," Aiden confessed. "I got told by Marty just like I'm telling you." "I don't care, you're still pretty smart." Lenny and Lance fell easily into boy crushes, but Aiden was their main crush. He'd been their friend since the day they met him at Lakeview school and that was important to them. The three boys stripped naked, took care of pre-bed business, and climbed under the covers of Aiden's bed. Larry grinned when he saw the twins' sleeping bags on the floor still rolled up and two pair of colored briefs tossed on the floor next to them. He gave each boy a chaste good-night kiss on the forehead, turned out the lights, and left the room. Aiden had already pulled Horace down from his perch to join them on the bed. Aiden understood how much Horace liked being around boys. "So, your cousins are coming for sure in a couple of weeks, right?" Lance asked. "Unless we make the State Tournament," Aiden replied. "Baseball will be over for them no matter what." "And that includes Logan, right?" Lenny asked. "Right." "Cool. Mom already said it was okay for him to spend a night if he was coming." The boys cozied up to each other, Aiden taking up the space between the twins. In spite of the eroticism of three often sexually active boys sleeping together, nothing sexual happened between them. More often than not, Aiden and his friends were worn down by the time they got into bed. Sometimes what they planned to do wasn't what happened as they zonked out. Even Mason couldn't be horny every night. That isn't to say there weren't nights when they played around sexually, but it wasn't always a priority. Aiden couldn't help but think that was going to change when Chase, Logan, and Darnell showed up for their visit. TUESDAY, JULY 17 It had been almost two weeks since Keegan accidentally came across his son, Aiden on July 4. Because he hadn't heard anything from his brothers or from anyone in authority, he assumed his brothers understood that his presence at Carkeek Park at the same time Aiden was there was nothing more than a gigantic coincidence. In his mind, Keegan had imagined him losing any chance of legally making contact with his son, let alone gaining custody of him. Had that happened, he was prepared to drink himself into a stupor. After all, he wasn't staying sober because it was what he really wanted to do, he was doing it so he could have what he wanted to have. Keegan thought about Drake and how often the fourteen-year-old kept coming on to him and his aunt. "If I can't get high, and I can't get drunk, and I can't get sex here, then I don't know why I keep coming here," the teen had complained on his last visit to his Aunt Natalie's apartment. "Nobody is forcing you to come here," Keegan pointed out. "Nobody but my mom. I'd spend the night at one of my friend's houses. I know they'd give me all three things, because they have before. But now my mom don't trust them. She says we'd be like teenage boys and get in trouble together." "Isn't she right about that?" "Fuck dude, we were doing sex and weed and shit when we were eleven. So what difference would it make if we do it now?" Keegan loved Drake and his wild boy attitude. As much as he wanted to, he knew he couldn't give Drake what he wanted. But Keegan also had to admit that if he lost access to his son, he'd be willing to become whatever Drake wanted him to be. After Aiden and the twins got out of bed in the morning, they squeezed into the shower together. After the proper amount of dick and butt washing and groping, the three boys finished their showers sporting wood. The twins got a thrill out watching Aiden pull his t-shirt "skirt" over his bare groin. They would have liked to have done the same, but they lacked both a t-shirt that was long enough and the courage to do it even if they each had one. It was t-shirts and briefs for the twins. Miles and Gordy showed up right about lunch time, causing Larry to ask them if they sensed the sandwiches in the refrigerator all the way into town. "We know where the best food is," Gordy said, "and Coach Miller makes the best sandwiches around—except maybe for my mom." Larry couldn't help but laugh at Gordy's diplomatic conclusion. After eating, the five boys played Whiffle Ball in the backyard until they got hot and sweaty, at which point they stripped naked and jumped into the pool. About fifteen minutes later a surprise visitor showed up at the front door. Kalie had finished her chores, ridden her horse some, and worked with Hi Strike, the rapidly growing colt. She decided she had time to ride her bike over to Aiden's house and surprise him. And a big surprise it was. "Well, hello Kalie." Larry worked to hide his surprise. While it was not unusual for Aiden's boy friends to show up for a surprise visit, like Gordy and Miles had done (although Larry wasn't entirely sure it was really a surprise for Aiden), Kalie had never shown up without a prior invitation. "I was just out riding my bike to Brittany's house and decided to stop and see what Aiden was doing," Kalie told Larry. "He's out back in the pool with some of his friends." "Can I go see them?" "They're skinny dipping." Kalie stood quietly for a moment, mulling over what to say. "I've seen naked boys before," she confessed, hoping that would earn her a ticket to the pool. "My mom don't care—she says farm girls know what naked is all about." "I don't think the boys are quite as confident in their knowledge," Larry told her, not knowing that Kalie and Gordy had made out naked in the basement of his house. It would have shocked him even more if he had known that Kalie had given Gordy, of all boys, a blow job and had slept naked with him. Nor did he know that Aiden and Kalie had kissed while wearing little more than their underwear. "You can go out on the deck to wave hello, but you can't stay," Larry informed the disappointed girl. But she walked out back, willing to take whatever was given to her. She knew she could always get more later. "Hi guys," Kalie yelled at the five boys in the pool. "EEEK, IT'S A GIRL!" Lance screamed in his high-pitched boy's voice. "That's not a girl, that's Kalie," Gordy said as he surprised his friends as well as Larry by climbing out of the pool. "Hi, Kalie," he called out, making sure that Kalie got a full front view of his naked body. "You want to come in the water?" "Aiden's dad said I can't do it," Kalie replied. "Why not?" Miles, who was now out of the pool as well, yelled out. Aiden pulled himself onto the patio and was now standing naked with Gordy and Miles, which almost caused Kalie's knees to buckle. Two of her big crushes, Gordy and Aiden, were both standing naked in front of her, even if it was downstairs from the deck. "Hi Kalie," Aiden yelled out. "Can't she come in, daddy? Please? Nobody cares if she gets naked with us." "I care," Larry said firmly. "And so do we," Lance whispered in Lenny's ear. He had no desire to have a naked girl in the pool with them, but Lenny wasn't quite as certain about that as his twin. "But why can't she?" Miles asked again. "Maybe some other time," Larry said, although he thought of that time as being about ten years in the future. "I don't want to make trouble," Kalie said. What she really wanted was to pull off her t-shirt and shorts in the worst way and at least jump into the pool in her girl boxer shorts. "I'm going to go see Brittany. Like your dad said, some other time." Nobody, Kalie included, missed the fact that Gordy was standing on the patio sporting a three-and-a-half inch hard on. "Damn Gordy, you got a boner," Miles grinned as the boys returned to the pool. "Is she your girlfriend or something now that you kissed her?" So far, only Aiden knew that Kalie had given Gordy a blow job. "She's not my girlfriend," Gordy replied lamely. There were times when he thought getting sucked by Kalie was the best sex thing to happen to him and there were times he wished it had never happened. Right then, he wasn't sure which one was true. It turned out Kalie wasn't the only surprise to come to the front door. Not five minutes after Kalie left, Larry noticed a car pull into the driveway. He was surprised to see Collin Ward open the back door and get out of the car. A combination of various circumstances had seen Collin's family leave Mayfield quite suddenly at the end of October. In a nutshell, Collin's father had an opportunity to take a temporary position with his company which required relocating to Manaus, the major city in the Amazon Basin of Brazil, for nine months. He accepted the position and uprooted his family, the idea being to give them the opportunity of a lifetime. Needless to say Collin and his two sisters were not happy about the sudden move. But, with the patient encouragement of their parents, they found themselves making many friends, learning a new language, and enjoying an entirely different style of life from the one they knew in Mayfield, Washington. Collin's mother followed her son up to the front door. He was already running out to the deck, shedding his clothes as he went. "Don't forget to pick everything up!" Collin's mother yelled knowing he was already out of hearing. "That was kind of a dumb thing to say," she said to Larry with a chuckle. "I mean, he has to pick it all up to get dressed again." She picked up Collin's shirt and shorts from the changing room floor, deciding that his underpants and socks could stay out on the deck. Because the Wards were a nudist family, Mary Ward wasn't surprised or concerned about her son shedding his clothes. She knew that Larry had allowed some "naturist" parties at the pool, but wasn't sure if this was one of those times. "I'll bring him back to get his underpants on if you want," she said in an apologetic tone. "Don't worry, he's dressed in the same swim suit as the rest of the boys," Larry laughed. Those boys were ecstatic to see Collin. While Larry had been totally surprised by Collin's appearance, Aiden, Miles, and Gordy were not. Collin had emailed Aiden a couple of weeks before that they would be returning to Mayfield soon. His father, who taught forestry and ecology at Centralia College, had been hired on as a consultant for the nine months the Ward family was gone. The boys were enthralled by Collin's stories. "A lot of the Brazilians love going naked and they liked it that I got naked with them right away," Collin rambled. "The American boys not so much but guys like Pedro, Dante, and Rafael, plus me, got some guys to get naked." Collin had attended the American International School in Manaus. "Did you guys mess around?" Miles asked. "Like, duh. What do you think?" "Even blow jobs?" Aiden asked, wondering if Brazilian boys even knew about blow jobs. "That, and, well...," Collin stood up in the shallow area and quickly spread his ass cheeks, giving everyone a glimpse of his pucker, "...I ain't a virgin back there any more thanks to Dante," he grinned as he slid back into the pool. Collin's status in the sexual hierarchy of the boys rose straight to the top after his confession. Aiden deduced that Brazilian boys obviously knew about blow jobs. "Did you do anybody?" "Four different friends. Dante and Rafael along with Cole and Steve. I took Steve's cherry," Collin said proudly. "Dante said that American boys never liked to do sex stuff with the city boys until I came. We were all sure doing it when I left." "How old was everybody?" Gordy asked. "The American boys were all like eleven through thirteen. I know Dante and Steve were thirteen and Cole was twelve. I wasn't sure of how old all the Brazilian boys were, but I'm sure the youngest one was like eight and the oldest maybe fourteen." Collin was twelve. Collin's telling of his adventures had given everyone boners, including the twins. The question now was, what were they going to do about it? "With my mom still here, I'm not doing much. She caught me giving Marco, who said he was ten, a blow job in my room. She wasn't mad or anything, just said to lock the door next time, but it was embarrassing. Then my dad had a talk with me about boys experimenting with sex and all that and for me not to let the Brazilian boys make me do things I didn't want to do." "Did you have to quit seeing the Brazilian boys?" Miles asked. "No. I told my dad we were just playing around like he said. What I didn't tell him is that I did all that stuff except corn holing right here in Mayfield before I ever met anybody from Brazil." The boys worked off their sexual tensions for the most part through just being wild boys in the pool, but that didn't mean they didn't keep sprouting little hard-ons. Collin's mom called him from the deck about an hour after he arrived. She was holding a towel for him and set it down on one of the deck chairs. Next time, I'm coming without her and we can have fun in Aiden's basement," Collin grinned as he charged up the stairs to the deck. "I can't believe he really went and did it up his butt," Gordy said, as if getting one's butt fucked was not something a Mayfield preteen would think of doing. The twins, who had been silent through all of Collin's sexual monologue, looked at each other and grinned. The only question in their minds was when they were going to "do it" themselves. That night the Red Hawks played the Elma Eagles at the Mayfield High School ballpark. Aiden, Gordy, and the twins were there along with Trent, who showed up with his dad. Miles and Muddy were the Hawks' batboys for the game. Aiden and Gordy were surprised to see Eddie sitting in the stands four rows behind the Mayfield dugout. Eddie was sitting with Roger, Russell, and an older boy they'd never seen before. The Hawks lost to their fellow raptors 7-3. Peter Astor went hitless, but played well in center field, making two nice running catches along with a couple of routine popups. Aiden and his friends left the stands through a breezeway on the third base side where Aiden was going to meet Larry. They were stopped by Eddie, Russell, Roger, and the older boy as they entered the paved courtyard behind the stands. The older boy was Eddie's thirteen-year-old cousin Gary Edmunds, whom everybody called Bud although nobody could remember why. Bud lived in Vickers, which was between Kentburg and Clark Pass. "Hey guys, do you miss me on the baseball team?" Eddie asked. "Russell says you don't," he went on without waiting for an answer. Russell shook his head to indicate he never said anything like that. "Why should we miss you?" Aiden asked pointedly. He was looking directly at Eddie and had missed Russell's head shaking. "Because I'm cool, and I'm better than you faggots." "Do you even know what a faggot is?" Gordy asked. "It's somebody who lets guys fuck them in the butt," Bud said in a surprisingly deep voice. He looked straight at Eddie when he said it. Bud was one of six boys who had left their sperm in Eddie's ass. Roger, Russell, Barry Bender, Muddy, and, of course, Peter Astor, were the others. As far as Bud knew, he had been the only person to fuck his younger cousin's ass, but that impression was not close to the truth. "Yeah, like Bud said," Roger agreed. Russell was keeping his mouth shut. He wished he hadn't agreed to sit with Eddie during the game, because then he wouldn't be here facing down his teammates. He was trying to make himself small, hoping Aiden, Trent, and Gordy would forget that he was there. "I guess your definition of faggot does not apply to us because we don't get our butts fucked, so by your definition we are not faggots," Gordy said in the precise manner used whenever he wanted to show off that he was much smarter than whomever he was dealing with. Aiden called it Gordy's snooty voice and loved it when Gordy put somebody down with it, especially if that somebody was a teacher. Bud stepped right up to Gordy and grabbed him by his shirt. "Don't give me that shit punk. I bet everybody here has fucked your ass. I know that Eddie has done it lots of times." Aiden moved into the fray and had his hands raised to push Bud away when the area that the teen had occupied suddenly became empty space. Aiden looked down at the ground and saw the bigger boy flat on his belly. It was then he saw Muddy, who had moved in fast and shoved Bud to the ground. "Oh, I think Mudrak accidently tripped Bud," Muddy said sweetly as he put his right foot on top of Bud's torso. "Are you okay, Bud?" "Is there a problem here boys?" Larry asked. He'd just stepped out into the courtyard and saw the boys milling around. Recognizing some of the boys led him to the correct conclusion that there was trouble brewing. He didn't recognize the big teen, which meant he was not a Mayfield boy. "No problem," Aiden lied. "Muddy accidentally tripped Bud." Larry gave Aiden a look that said he didn't believe a word of it at the same time waiting for Bud to get back on his feet. "Is that what happened, son?" Larry asked. "Yeah. It was an accident," Bud grumbled as he shot Muddy a look of sheer malice. It wasn't the first time Muddy had bested him. If he'd known Muddy was behind him he never would have put his hands on Gordy. When Muddy had been close friends with Eddie, he and Bud had seen a lot of each other. Once, when Bud tried to molest Muddy, the teen ended up with a loose tooth as his reward. A couple of other incidents taught him not to mess with Muddy. He had always thought Eddie was a tough little bugger, but he wasn't in the same league as Muddy. Larry walked away, satisfied that the incident was closed—at least for now. Eddie and Bud walked away with Roger. Eddie was depressed. He was off the baseball team, his dad was still treating him like shit, and he couldn't even bully somebody with his teenage cousin backing him up. As far as Eddie was concerned, life was exactly the way Peter said it was—it totally sucked. Russell stayed behind. "I never said what Eddie said I said, I swear. You gotta believe me," he pleaded. "I like playing with you guys." Gordy and Aiden both told Russell they believed him, even though they weren't sure they did. That night Bud spent the night at Eddie's house. Bud was supposed to be Eddie's boy sitter, which was why he went to the game with his cousin. He knew Eddie wanted to spend some time with his friends and thought he could check out some girls. He was disappointed when there weren't any girls at the ballpark worth checking out, which led him to the conclusion that Mayfield was a sexual desert. The only sitting done between Bud and Eddie was by Eddie who spent a lot of time sitting on his older cousin's cock wishing he could get wasted while he was doing it. Peter Astor got home just after his dad, who had been at the game. He turned down an offer of a beer, saying he was tired. He went to bed and jerked off wishing he could have a girlfriend in his bed, or even a boyfriend—any kind of friend, even Eddie would do. Yeah, Eddie is right, Peter thought—life really totally sucks. WEDNESDAY, JULY 18 The Yard Goats played the Monte Bulldogs at Monte that evening. Yonder Gomez started the game for the Goats. He didn't have good stuff right from his first pitch, walking three of the first four batters he faced. The Bulldogs ended up scoring four runs in the first. Even though Monte didn't have a good team, they played the Goats tough, taking a 10-8 lead into the fifth inning, which the umps said would be the last one due to the impending time limit. Lance had pitched the bottom of the fourth inning and was the first Goat pitcher to throw a scoreless inning in the game. Yonder had been replaced by Jared Finn with two outs in the second inning after Yonder allowed three more runs, making the score 7-3 after two innings. The Goats scored two runs in the top of the third to make the score 7-5, but Jared gave up three in the bottom of the inning and suddenly it was 10-5 Bulldogs. But, the Goats scored three in the top of the fourth and Lance came into the game to pitch a 1-2-3 fourth. It was arguably his best inning of the season. Of course, Lenny was in the game as Lance's catcher. Then came the announcement that the fifth would be the last inning and the Goats knew the pressure was on them to score. After cutting the score to 10-9, the Goats loaded the bases with two outs. Aiden came to the plate needing to knock in a run to keep the game going. The Bulldog pitcher was wild and quickly fell behind 3-1. This was the last game of the season for the Bulldogs. Having won only five games, they wanted badly to finish their season with a win. The Bulldog pitcher knew he had to throw a strike or he would walk in the tying run. He concentrated very hard on getting the ball over the plate to avoid issuing the walk. He ended up being very successful at throwing a strike. Aiden, who had come to the plate totally locked into his zone, saw a pitch in his mind that was so fat it looked like a cantaloupe coming to the plate. There were times when Aiden's eyes would have lit up at what he saw, causing him to try too hard and over swing. Because he was locked in, this was not one of those times. He kept his head on the ball, uncoiled a hard, but controlled swing on the fat pitch that was right in his wheelhouse, and sent it over the fence in left-center field for his second career home run. It was what was known as a grand salami by baseball fans in Washington State. Other than to touch each base, Aiden's feet never touched the ground as he rounded the bases as quickly as he could. When he touched home plate, he made the score 13-10. Trent grounded out hard to shortstop and the Bulldogs had one more chance. Lance gave up a one-out single, but the Bulldogs never threatened and the Yard Goats raised their record to 13-6 while the Bulldogs fell to 5-15. Lance earned his first win ever as a pitcher getting equal billing with Aiden for game heroics. The Goats had one regular season game left. Aiden and Miles spent the night at Gordy's. Before getting into things with his friends, Aiden called Marty. "Let's see," Marty said after Aiden related how the game went that evening, "this season you've hit your first home run, pitched a no-hitter, and belted a grand salami. You might as well retire, there's nothing left for you to do." "Marty, you're being silly. I'm supposed to go out every game and have fun, so there's lots more games for me to have fun playing." "That sounds pretty good to me. There are probably some championships waiting for you, too." "Lance got his first win ever. He pitched really great. Only one hitter got on base against him in two innings. Jared and Yonder weren't real good today." "But, like any good team, you guys did what you needed to do to win," Marty reminded his protégé. "Did you know that the Goats are 13-3 since we lost our first three games? Only the Owls have had a better record," Aiden said proudly. "Wowsers, I knew you guys were winning your share of games, but I didn't realize how good you were playing." "How did you do today?" "I thought you'd never ask," Marty chuckled. "Well, the Travelers won 2-1, I went oh-for-three with a walk, and made what I thought were a couple of good plays at third." "So that was a pretty good game since you won." Aiden figured something out on his phone's calculator. "So, you're still hitting .302 with the Travelers even after going hitless. And you've got a new game tomorrow to make it even better." "I like your attitude, little bro." "Hang on. Gordy has something to tell me." The news Gordy had was that the Centralia Scrappers had defeated Kentburg 5-4, which meant that the Yard Goats and Kentburg were now tied for third. Aiden quickly told Marty the news. "Since we beat Kentburg twice, that means we will win the tiebreaker and get third place." "Don't forget that you have one important piece of business first," Marty reminded Aiden. "What's that?" "You have to beat the Bears on Friday." After he finished his chat with Marty, Aiden joined Miles and Gordy in Gordy's room. The three of them were stripped down to t-shirts, underpants, and socks. "Do you think your dad knows you lied to him about Muddy knocking down that Bud kid?" Gordy asked Aiden, referring to the incident of the previous day. "Yeah. He always knows when I lie," Aiden answered. "So why did you lie?" Miles asked. "To keep Muddy from getting in trouble when all he was doing was helping Gordy. I didn't think it mattered how that asswaffle ended up getting knocked to the ground." "Yeah, but if your dad knows you lied, then he knows he can't trust you." "I told my dads that I lied last night, and I told them why I lied. Then I slept with them and I knew they still loved me and trusted me." Miles wished things were that simple in his family. The boys talked about how it had been awhile since they'd messed around together and decided to do something about that. While Gordy's bedroom wasn't the most private of the three boys, they managed to move from cock to cock sucking and jerking until they each had two dry orgasms. The boys squeezed into Gordy's bed, with Aiden in the middle, but didn't sleep naked—something they would have done if they'd slept at Miles' or Aiden's house. THURSDAY, JULY 19 With the high temperature for the day predicted to get into the mid-80's, the pools at Aiden's house and Trent's house were the places to be. If a boy wanted to be a skinny dipping naturist, he could do so in Aiden's pool. If he was uncomfortable with the naturist scene, he could swim in Trent's pool. A couple of the boys at Trent's house secretly wished they could skinny dip, but they didn't know Aiden well enough to ask about doing it. Trent made no secret about liking to skinny dip, but he knew what the rules at his house were and he had no problem with them. He liked having his friends come to his house. In the end, swimming was swimming. One of the plusses to wearing swim suits was that Kalie came to Trent's house, which didn't bother any of the boys there. Trent and his friends liked ogling Kalie in her bikini, wondering amongst themselves if her boobs were starting to grow. Gordy, Miles, Mason, Lenny, Lance, Brody and Collin gathered at Aiden's pool. Eight-year-old Gage Polk and his best friend, Skip Emerson, were invited as well, and were more than happy to get naked with the older boys. Larry called on David Fitzgerald to watch over things. All the boys were disappointed when David sat at poolside in his board shorts; they wanted to see him wearing less. The other Goats who went swimming that day were at Trent's house. They were Kenny Gray, who had turned twelve on Sunday, Muddy, Jared Finn, Yonder Sanchez, and Vince Madden. Some of Trent's old Parkwood buddies were there as well. The only active Goat not at one of the pools was Russell, who never responded to either invitation. Aiden had invited Nolan to the swim party. He hoped that this would be a chance for Nolan to spend the night since his team, the Centralia Bears, would be playing at Mayfield Friday night. But Nolan said his mother wouldn't be able to drive him out to Mayfield and back. She obviously didn't think much of their spending the night idea. FRIDAY, JULY 20 After thinking everything over, Aiden wondered if finishing ahead of Kentburg was as good as it seemed. The first round of the league tournament consisted of two round robin brackets. If the Goats finished ahead of Kentburg then they would be in the same bracket as the first place Owls. Everybody agreed that the Owls would be tough to beat. He mentioned that to his dads, only to have Phil remind him that the Goats had given the Owls one of their two losses. "Quit thinking about crap and just play baseball," Phil told his son. "You sound just like Marty." "I take that as a compliment." In the end, Aiden knew that the best thing the Goats could do was play their best against the Bears. He also knew that the best thing he could do as the starting pitcher was stay focused. Then, with a secret, interior smile he thought about how he could top that by not allowing Nolan to get a hit against him. The Goats ended up not being challenged by the Bears. They moved out to a 6-0 start after three innings and finished with an 11-3 win. Aiden pitched four innings, Lenny got a rare chance to pitch, going one inning, and Kenny Gray pitched the last inning. Aiden didn't fulfill his secret goal, however. He struck out Nolan in his first at bat, but Nolan doubled off of him in the fourth. If anybody else had stood on second with a big grin after hitting a double off him, Aiden would have thought of him as an asswaffle. In Nolan's case, it just made him want to run to second base and kiss that beautiful smiling face. The Yard Goats had won their last four games of the league season to finish 14-6 and in third place. The Bears finished 8-12. The tiebreaker with Kentburg ended up not mattering when Yelm surprised the Stingers 7-5. Aiden couldn't help but wonder if the Stingers tanked the game so they wouldn't have to play the Owls. He'd have to ask Keith when he had a chance. After the game Nolan and Aiden found time to talk to each other. Nolan's dad talked to Larry and Phil while the boys enjoyed some time together. "Did you see what I saw about the tournament next week?" Aiden asked Nolan. "I might have, but I don't know what you saw. I know we're in the same round robin," Nolan answered. "Did you see more?" "I guess we did see the same thing," Nolan grinned. "Our first round-robin game is against each other." "Is that cool, or what?" "I'd rather wait to play each other in the second or third game." "I don't care about that," Aiden said. "We gotta play each other sometime. I thought it was cool that we both saw the same thing." "Yeah, great minds think alike." "I wish we could kiss right now," Aiden said in one of his sudden changes of topic. "I gotta pee," Nolan said, momentarily confusing Aiden. "Follow me." Aiden quickly got the idea and followed Nolan into the bathroom. The two preteens slipped into one of the two stalls and quickly put their lips together. Like a pair of experienced lovers, the young boys knew what they wanted as they wrapped their arms around each other, their lips locked. Their tongues battled as they traded spit and slobbered down their chins. Aiden reached for Nolan's crotch and groped him, pleased that his friend had removed his protective cup. He was even more pleased that what he was feeling may have been as hard as the piece of plastic he wore in his jockstrap. Aiden shuddered when he felt Nolan's hand feel his own hard pubescent erection. "I wish you could spend the night," Aiden panted as he broke the kiss. "Me too. I want to do more right now, but we better get back." Aiden reluctantly agreed. When Larry and Phil saw the two boys emerge from the men's room, they wondered what had transpired between the two boys. When Judge Moyer, Nolan's dad, saw them come out, he simply thought they were two boys who had just finished taking a piss. The league playoffs were scheduled to start on Monday. The weather forecast was for sunny and hot, with highs in the upper 80s and even into the 90s. The top eight teams in the eleven team league would play in the first round, which consisted of two round robins. The top two teams in each round robin would play in a single elimination tournament. The top two teams in the tournament would advance to the Washington State League Tournament. Aiden was excited about the rest of the summer. Next week was the playoffs and, if they were lucky, the state tournament would be the week after. That same week Chase, Logan, and Darnell would be coming for a visit, unless the Yard Goats went to state. There might still be a visit, but it would have to be cut short. After that came a week away from home at baseball camp. What excited Aiden about the camp even more than the baseball part was that he and Nolan would be bunking in the same cabin for the entire week. The week after that, Aiden would be traveling with his dads for a week. For Aiden Miller, the summer so far had been the best of his life and what was coming up might be even better than what he'd experienced so far. That night before falling asleep, Aiden expressed his gratitude, something he hadn't always been faithful at doing. "I am grateful to have the best summer ever, and the best dads in the world, and the best friends anybody could ever have." Aiden wrapped himself around Horace and fell asleep feeling warm and loved and happy. Next: Playoff Baseball
