"Hi Sam, do you mind if I join you?" He asked as he picked up his knife and fork to start eating his lunch, "It's a bit late if he does isn't it," Jorge said slightly sourly. I guess he might have been suspicious of Jamie's motives. I'd mentioned a bit about my SPB meeting but not specifics about who was there, "Good point!" Jamie said with a laugh, then lowered his voice, "I just wanted to make a public statement that I'm on Sam's side. Without blowing my own trumpet too much I reckon I've got a fair bit of respect in Year 10. By me making it clear Sam is my friend hopefully that will rub off on others. All the SPB reps are going to do what they can to stamp this bullying of Sam out. It might take time but things will improve I'm sure of it!" "Wait, Sam is your friend? When did this happen?" Olly asked, looking confused. Wow, we were friends? We'd only just met! But having a friend or ally like Jamie would be useful. Ignoring the fact he was drop dead gorgeous. I explained that we'd met at the SPB and Jamie chipped in to say how well I'd done. This gave me a warm feeling inside, maybe I wasn't quite the fuck up I thought I was! Jamie also knew how to turn on the charm and said to Jorge and Olly how impressed he was at their football skills. "As captain of Y10 team I like to check out the boys from other teams to see if we can steal any!" He said with a grin. "Ha good luck with that, Mr Franklin would go crazy if you tried!" Jorge replied also grinning. His ego had definitely inflated somewhat at the compliments being paid to him. "What about you Sam? Mr Johnson said you don't play for the team anymore, any reason why?" This was old news, an old wound really. Self inflicted admittedly. Basically I was worried that spending time with other boys in a state of undress might make it obvious I was gay. Of course that was totally stupid but that's the way I felt. Now I was out there was no way I'd rejoin given some of the boys on the team actively hated me. I didn't really want to rehash old ground though so I kept it simple. "Yeah, I didn't feel comfortable with the attitude of some of the boys. It was all a bit macho and some of them were homophobic. So I left last year. Not that they'd have me back anyway even if I wanted to." "Me and Olly would! We're not as good without you!" Jorge protested. "Thanks but others wouldn't, like Richard and his mates." Jorge looked like he was going to disagree but clearly realised I was right. "What position did you play?" Jamie asked moving the conversation away from the awkward silence, "Left wing, probably because I was the only left footer on the team." "Well you should play again!" "I don't want to be on the team with some of the boys who bullied me like Richard. As I said I doubt they'd welcome me back anyway." "Play for year 10! I'm the captain and we could do with someone like you!" Jamie said with a smile. "Thanks but you've never even seen me play!" "That's not true, I've seen you when you have kickabouts at lunchtime. You've got good skills and you're pretty fast." "Really?!" I asked in surprise. "Yeah as I said I like to keep an eye on who is good. You wouldn't be the first boy to play for a year group that wasn't his. Fourteen, fifteen, there's not a massive amount of difference. It's probably a bit more physical in Year 10 games but if you played on the wing you'd really just speed up and down and get some crosses in. Promise me you'll think about it." I said I would but the same issues probably remained for me. I'd be getting changed with other older boys in a state of undress who would know I was gay. Maybe they showered afterwards and would feel awkward about it? Then again a flutter in my stomach happened at the thought of seeing Jamie naked. "You boys play FIFA?" Jamie asked as we finished our lunches, this took my mind off seeing him naked which I was relieved about. "Yeah, although Sam scores the most boring goals. Run into the box, pass it across the keeper to a player who is blatantly offside for a tap in!" "Ah the classic FIFA offside bug. I'm not ashamed to say I've scored many a goal that way! We should do some online matches together! Like a mini tournament!" Jamie said. The school bell then rang to let us know lunch was almost over. It had flown by and so we quickly cleared our trays, got our bags and went off to class. "Be careful with Jamie," Jorge said to me later on our walk home. "Careful? Why? He seems really nice!" "Too nice maybe. Wanting you to join the football team, wanting to play online with you. Maybe he's..you know grooming you. He knows your gay and wants to take advantage of you!" "Seriously mate, he's just being friendly!" Jorge looked thoughtful, "Maybe you're right, apparently he's got a girlfriend anyway so I guess he's not too suss. Just...I dunno, watch yourself. Remember me and Olly are your best mates and we have your back." "I know and I love you for that." "You're so fucking gay!" Jorge said and we both giggled for most of our journey home. I had some thinking to do about joining the football team so I decided to speak to Tom. First of all though I had homework to do and then some handwork on my dick. The thought of seeing all those Year 10 boys potentially naked, or even just half naked left me very excited and I had a very satisfying cum! After I'd cleared up and I went and said to Tom I needed to chat. I sat on the floor while he lay on his bed and asked what was on my mind. "So you know Jamie from Year 10?" I asked. "Which one? I think there are a couple of Jamie's. What's his surname?" "Um I don't know actually! He captains the football team and is their year rep." "Ah that one, yeah he's sound. Nice boy, sensible, hardworking, but if you're expecting me to try and see if he wants to go on a date with you don't waste your time! He's bound to be straight and being brutally honest probably well out of your league. Only because he's in a year above though!" "Well thanks big bro," I said rolling my eyes, "My motivations asking you are strictly business, nothing more than that. Basically he's asked me to join the Year 10 football team, or at least tryout for it." "Great! Be good to see you using all that fancy footwork again!" Tom said enthusiastically. "It is tempting but I'm just a bit worried." "About what?" I blushed as I decided to be brutally honest, "Well.....first of all they might hate that I'm gay and be mean to me. Also...they might all shower afterwards and if I'm expected to shower naked with a load of other naked boys then I'm a bit worried how my body will react." Tom nodded, "I can see why you're worried, you wouldn't be the first boy to get hard in the shower but given your situation that would be unwise! But I think you're worrying over nothing, I imagine the boys will all shower at home. Did you used to shower naked after Year 7 games?" "Well not usually, I saved it until I got home." "Well there's your answer! You're stressing over nothing little bro. And even if they were showering naked you don't have to. Look I know it's hard, no pun intended, but you've got to adapt. You can't just hide away because you're gay. You love football, Jamie is nice, I am sure the other boys will look out for you.. Who is going to bully you in Year 9 when you have the whole Year 10 football team on your side?" "Good point! Okay I guess I'll tell him yes then." "Yes you will! Look, the last few weeks have been shit for you. But with the SPB, joining the football team, these are things that will help you make more friends. And let's be honest, some influential, respected friends. I imagine some boys see you as some strange monster, totally different to them. Once they see you're just a normal boy who just happens to like boys not girls they'll be fine. You never know you might get some action out of it! Maybe there's boys hiding in all sorts of closets!" I smiled at Tom who was clearly trying to make me feel better about everything. "I don't think anyone will touch me with a barge pole after all this kerfuffle but thanks for the vote of confidence anyway! It'll just be nice to be part of a team again." Tom stood up and gave me a hug, "Sam, just remember, me and you, we've got each other's back and we're always on the same team."
