 Well lets take him for instance. He was there and I broke two of his
fingers. He probably still can't bend them correctly.

 You told me that you weren't there.

 I didn't think he remembered.

 Oh I remember. I remember everyone of you, especially Larry Betz and his
brother.

The brass knuckles boy from the bowling alley.

 If I was you Gary.  I would separate myself from your family. All they are
going to do is bring you down. I see good in you. And I think we could
actually be friends. But as long as you run with the bully boys, that will
never happen. You need to choose where you want to be in ten years. In jail
or living a good life. Think about it Gary.

 Gary listened carefully to everything that Mattie had just said to him.

 You not considering anything that he just said to you?

 Of course not, just trying to figure out what hes up to.

 Good thing cause we need to go, your uncle said to be at the docks by
noon. He has an errand he wants us to run.

 You two go ahead . I need to run back home and get something.

 Okay but don't be late or he's going to be pissed.

 Gary had no intention on running any errands for his uncle. He needed to
go see a certain person. The only person who he could talk to about all
this and not judge him for it. Gary jumped on his bike and headed off
towards the bowling alley.



Johnny had tracked down his boyfriends exwife in Portland.  She was working
as a cocktail waitress at a biker bar. Her boyfriend was the second in
command for the Portland Eagles harley bike gang.

 Johnny looked up an old friend who worked for Vice for the Portland police
department.  He warned Johnny that the department was corrupted and that
their chief and two Lt.'s were on the take. He had been undercover for four
years collecting evidence to take down these men and their associates.

 Johnny staked out the bar and after two days of waiting got his first
sighting of Joe's little boy. He looked malnourished and abused. The boy
looked like a six year old but Johnny knew he was eleven.

 Johnny took several pictures and sent them to a judge friend asking for a
warrant to seize the boy and take him into protective custody.

 It was that night that Johnny saw something that made him the most
disgusted.

 Joe's son along with another boy were taken outside and had a hose turned
on them as two ladies scrubbed them clean with a bar of soap and a
brush. The boys were crying throughout their cleaning.

 Johnny couldn't do anything as he had no jurisdiction without the court
order.

 When the boys had been thoroughly cleaned and rinsed off, they were put in
a pair of ripped shorts and chained like a dog to the trailer outside.

 A man came out and put two bowls on the ground along with a blanket and
left.

 The two little boys got down and devoured the food and drank the water.
Then they laid down as several different men came and went from the trailer
all night long.  It was around five am that Johnny got the go ahead to take
the boy into his custody.  But he knew that he'd be taking both boys with
him.

 Johnny knew in order for this to work. The boys would need to be quiet. He
refused to use tranquilizers or chloroform. He decided to just take his
chances. He had in his possession Joe's sons favorite stuffed animals.

 Being very careful about his approach.  Johnny crawled the fifty feet to
the edge of the trailer. Then he kneeled down and went under the trailer
about halfway until he was were the boys were sleeping.

 Joe's son heard something and opened his eyes to see this black man right
above him. He went to scream but then his eyes locked onto the pink panther
the man held out to him. The boy reached out and grabbed it. He started to
whimpered like a dog.

 The door suddenly burst opened.

 If I have to come out there, you'll be doing more then whimpering. Do you
hear me boy?

 Yes sir, he said

 Good now shut up and go to sleep or I'll send you back to the dog pound .

Johnny didn't know what that meant but he saw the fear in both of the boys
eyes.

 It was then that Johnny became aware that the other boy was also watching
him. Johnny took the stuffed tiger and handed it to the boy.

 I'm going to take you two boys to safety but its important that you don't
make a sound.  Do you understand Johnny whispered?

 They shook their heads up and down.

 Johnny took out his hand cuff keys and unlocked the boys from the chains
and then put the cuffs on his belt. Next he had the boys crawl to the front
of the trailer and wait.

 Johnny went back and slipped out from under the trailer and took the
handcuffs off his waist. He used them to lock the trailer hasp on the doors
so they couldn't open either one from the inside.

 Johnny crawled back under the trailer and up to the front where both boys
were waiting for him.

 Okay you two. We now have to be the quietest that we can be. Over there is
my vehicle.  I want you two boys to get on my back a hold on as I'm going
to crawl over to those weeds.

 Johnny took his time and made it over to the concealed part in the tall
grass. But when he reached his car, there were two men checking out his
vehicle.

 The men looked inside but couldn't see anything through the dark tinted
glass.

 Let's go back and get the tow truck. Then we can strip it for its parts.

 Okay sounds good but you stay here. I don't want anyone else laying claim
to this car.

 The man headed back to the building way off in the distance as the other
man jumped up and sat on the hood and waited for his friend to return.

I told the boys to wait there until I motioned for them to come.

 I was able to get right next to the car but he was facing towards me and I
didnt have the advantage. I was afraid he'd call out and alert his other
friends

 The two boys saw that I was stalled. So they both got up and walked out of
the brush. They went over to the other side of the car. The man turn his
back to me and looked at the boys.

 What the hell are you two pups doing off your chains the man screamed at
the boys.

 But that would be the last words he spoke to them.

 I stood up and went over behind him.

  As he turned to see who was there, all he saw was the blurred vision of
my fists hitting him in his jaw. He went out like a light.

I unlocked the car and rushed to put the boys inside. I put the keys in the
ignition and turned them on but didn't start the car. Instead I put the car
in neutral and rolled down the hill a good hundred feet away from where I
was parked before I started the car and pulled away without the use of
headlights. As I was already wearing my night vision goggles.

 I used my cell phone to call Joe and told him to meet me at the state line
and to bring the calvary.

 I knew that I only had a little time to make my escape.  I headed up
towards Vancouver Washington but they were already on to me and had that
route blocked. I cut across county and made it over to 84 heading towards
Bonneville dam bridge.

 I could hear the roar of the bikes off in the distance behind me. Still
running without lights I made it to my turn off. I knew if I made it to
cascades island I would be in the clear. I was less then a mile from the
state line when I came across a road block. Word had been sent to not let
anyone pass into Washington state.

 Johnny was searching for his options when he heard a loud rumbling noise
getting closet and closer to him. Then he heard the sound of metal being
crushed

That's when he saw the explosion in front of him as an Army bulldozer
pushed through the vehicles that made up the roadblock. The bulldozer
cleared a single lane path for Johnny to pass through. The army engineer
who was on the bulldozer backed up following Johnny into Washington state.
The bulldozer positioned himself along side two other bulldozers fully
blocking off all lanes of the bridge and the only road leading onto
cascades island.

 Joe was waiting there with a first flight helicopter.

 Allen cried out to his daddy when he saw him. The two boys and Joe got on
and went straight to Kettle Falls hospital emergency medical center.

 Johnny would stay and file his report with the Army base commander.  Then
meet up with Joe and the boys later.

 The governor of Oregon was notified that corruption was running amok in
his states highest post and the national guard had been called in as well
as the FBI to take over the investigation.

 A special swat team along with loyal State Troopers were dispatched to
round I the Portland Eagles harley bike gang.

 Joe recognized the other boy as his sisters son. What the hell had they
done to these boys. They were safe now and only love and care would help
correct the damage that had been done.

 Gary walked into the back entrance to the bowling alley and saw the man he
was looking for right away.

 What are you doing here boy. Your uncle has already called here twice
looking for you.

 Uncle Bill. I don't want to live this life anymore. If I keep this up I'm
just going to end up in jail and someone's punk.

 When dad was killed and I was sent to live with aunt Clara. I had a good
life but then uncle Larry came and collected me from aunts Clara's saying
that there was some type of mix up with ths custody paperwork.  Which I
know now was all a lie. But now aunt Clara's dead and your my only hope of
escape.  Your the oldest dads older brother and offered me a way out 8
years ago. I'm asking for you to let me take that way out now.

 This is what I can do for you. I can give your guardianship over to anyone
who is willing to raise you. But they must agree to do this for you. I can
hide you for seventy two hours before I must alert your uncle who has been
caring for you the last few years. You must stay out of sight and find
someone who will raise you in seventy two hours.

 Nicolas woke up disoriented and in the dark. He called out but all he
heard was his voice echoing off walls very close by.

Simon, Pauley and Nicky each were in separate rooms away from one another
but in reality only a few feet apart. They were gagged and blindfolded and
hands tied to the bed they were laying in. Nicky thought he heard someone
yelling off in the distance. He couldn't understand why he was tied up. The
last thing he could remember was being taken into this nice house and fed
dinner by a nice lady. He called out again but it came out as a gargling
noise. For the first time in his life, Nicky was really scared.



Gary and Sal pulled up behind Jeff about an hour before sunrise. They got
out of their vehicle and got into Jeff's car.

 From what I've observed and scouted. Along with my gps tracker. They have
the crated boy and the other three in that storage building. There must be
an underground passage that's connected to the house. Four people are
inside. Three men and one lady.

 Thats good and we've identified the women as the Assistant Director
Margaret Stone of the CCPA and the black man as her boyfriend who is
connected with Black Jack's private mens club. Those other two men are
somehow connected to Mrs. Stone. According to my connections with the
Canadian Mounties, those two were released into her custody.

 What do you want to do Gary?

 I say that we wait until they leave and take them on the way to the
auction. We can take them out at the junction before they enter Nelson. I'm
sure that they aren't going to make a move before nightfall.

 Sal how far away are your brothers by now?

 Jose and Juan will be here by nine a.m.

Okay when they get here I want them to see if they can possibly find a safe
way into that storage room just in case we need to move sooner.

 What about your friend, do you think he could get us backup.

 Not unless we can give him absolute proof that the house is where the boys
are being detained. Only then will he act.

 One of Margaret's men went down and checked up on the boys. He gave the
caged boy some water and an energy bar. Then he checked on Simon and Nicky
and gave them water and an energy bar as well. Lastly he saw Pauley and he
untied him. Then he removed the blindfold. He gave him a pill of some type
and had his way with the young sissy boy. After he was through with him, he
left him on the be but untied as the boy was still high from the pill. He
then left but give him a bottle of water and an energy bar. I'll be back
after breakfast to get my dessert he told the boy.





 The courthouse was bustling this morning as those arrested in the raid
were being arraigned today.

The man residing over the proceedings was a special judge bought in by the
federal assembly.

  The ADA didnt want any chance of these men getting a free ride because of
who they were.

 Bail was set high on most of them. All defendants were ordered to wear a
tracking device as well as forfeit their passports.

 By some court error, the two Oregon firefighters had been released prior
to going to court. They were also reunited with their sons and disappeared
from sight.

 ADA Dillon was furious and opened and investagation into the matter.

 The special judge that was bought in didnt seem to be that tough as he
gave half of the accused bail instead of remanding them to custody.

 Joe leaned over and whispered to Johnny about his suspicions about
this. He directed Johnny to use all his resources to find out who assigned
the judge as well as to check those people out also.



Trent and Lee had gotten up early with Nanny and Becky who all headed over
to get ready for this coming weekends runner's events.  Each year Wishes
Bakery was one of the sponsors and always had a booth set up for the event
that ran from Friday morning through Sunday evening. The bakery was up and
running but wouldn't be open to the public until the following weekend.

 Mattie and Tommy had a light breakfast. They cleaned up their mess and
went outside. They did some stretching out. The boys had decided they would
run every morning that they had time to do .

 Today's run took them down by the bowling alley and skate park. They then
turned and headed for Lincoln park. Once there they decided to go down the
training trails. At each challenge stop, they read the board and did the
exercise required before moving on to the next one. It was Tommy that saw
what looked like a boy but was to far away to be sure or recognize who it
was.

 Mattie look over there.

  If that is a boy, he might be in trouble.

 The two of them stopped and ventured off the trail to what looked like and
old abandoned shack. As they stepped inside both Tommy and Mattie were
shocked to find a gagged and tied up Gary Betz hanging from a chain
attached to the ceilings beam.

 It was easy to see that he had been beaten up pretty badly from the
swollen shut left eye, his bloody and split lip, the dried blood in his
hair. Gary was barely concious when the boys found him.

 They stepped forward but felt the boards under their feet start to give
way.

 Quickly, look for something we can use to pull him to us.

 Tommy found a pool hook that he thought was a strange item to be out
there.

 Good going Tommy.

 Together they were able to pull Gary over to them. They carefully lifted
him up off the hook, the chain he was hanging from.

 They carried him back out just before the trail. Using the knife's the
boys always carried with them, they carefully cut away the ropes binding
Gary from his arms and legs. They then carefully pulled the duct tape from
his mouth.

Tommy took a water bottle from his belt attachment and gave Gary a few
sips.

Mattie used his water to wipe away some of the blood on his face and
head. Taking out the compact emergency first aid kit that each boy also
carried in their runners belt attachment, they fixed Gary up the best they
could.

 Okay Tommy, I'm going to go out to the road and call 911. You stay here
with Gary till I get back.

A weak NO was heard by both boys.

Gary you are hurt to badly.  You need to see s doctor.

 They will get me.

 Who Gary, who will get you.

 My uncle Larry.

 Okay then we will call the police.

 Not them either.

It's okay Gary, I'm friends with Sheriff Booth.

No. Lt Connors is my uncles first cousin. He will take me also.

 Okay. You need to trust us. We're going to take you back to the Brownstone
with us.

 Tommy and Mattie worked together a cut two six foot long branches from a
near by tree. Next they removed their shirts a put them through the arm
sleeves. Now they were stretched over the branches. Using both of the belt
attachments, the boys seceud the shirts and made the make shift gurney
sturdier. They gently put Gary on the gurney and began the long journey
back to the Brownstone. They had to make several sprints across the streets
as to not be seen. But it just so happened that one set of eyes did see the
boys. But luckily for them, the person couldn't tell what the boys were
carrying.

 When they reached the back side of the house, Mattie flipped up a hidden
panel that Tommy hadn't noticed was there before. Then he pulled the handle
down and a part of the back wall popped open.

 They pushed the wall aside and carried Gary inside. Then pushed, closed
and locked the wall behind them.

 Wow.  The twist and turns just keep coming. I hope that you all like this
new chapter as I made some changes to the last chapter nine. The person I
had edit it.  In short he didn't and just posted it instead.  So if anyone
wants to help me in the future. I'd be glad to chat with you to see if were
a good fit. I need someone who won't bash me for the topics I write about
and just edit what I write.
