I'd like to say thanks for being patient with the story, I really don't have much time these days to write and I apologise for leaving the story unfinished for so long. Also, a few people have emailed telling me about the contradiction in the last chapter, where I'd mentioned that the twins hadn't seen the pool despite mentioning they had in the previous episode. This was purely down to not having the time to re-read the chapter, and the fact I wrote it in an hour. I'll try not to make this mistake in the future. ---- From last chapter: I then took Denholm to the side where the twins couldn't hear. "Denholm, I'll need you to look after the place for a few hours okay?" He agreed, with a slightly disappointed look on his face. "Can I not come?" "The twins are going back tomorrow, do you not want to spend today with them? I'll still be here tomorrow." I said with a warm smile. He reluctantly nodded his head, before he finished his breakfast with the twins, telling them that I'd be going out. Matty then rushed out before I could leave, and told me he didn't have anything to wear to swim in. "I'm sure you'll be just fine going in naked." I winked. Making him smile in response. "Since Sam got to do things with you last night, can I tonight?" "I'd love to, but later, I've got to go now!" And with that, I left, saying goodbye to the other two, and kissing Denholm on the forehead. ----- I headed into town by a double decker bus, sitting on the top floor near to the back. It wasn't full in the slightest, with just myself and a younger blond boy further ahead. A few stops after, a group of lads about Denholm's age came upstairs and sat a few rows in front of me. They looked a little rough though, one of them holding a lighter in his hand as he sat down with his legs spread across the seat as if he owned the bus. Thinking back, I'd noticed these boys at my school. Of course they were in a lower year than I was, but I'd still see them in the corridors or in the cafeteria. The boy I'd just mentioned had a bit of a reputation for violence and bullying other kids, though quite how much damage a 12 year old can inflict on another person I wouldn't know. A few minutes later, he'd lived up to his reputation by throwing a plastic bottle down the bus, narrowly missing the blond boy's head, who simply looked back and didn't retaliate, as if he was used to it. I watched on as these boys in front giggled and whispered, clearly wanting to annoy this poor kid at the front. Before he could throw another bottle that he was gripping onto, I decided to intervene, and said with a stern tone, "Kid, stop it, he's done nothing to you." The whole group looked back at me by this point, with dirty facial expressions, until one of them straightened his face, and muttered something to the bigger kid, who abruptly stopped scowling too. "Are you James Dellow?" He asked, cautiously. I was confused at how he knew my name, but replied, "yes, why?" "Are you the one that fucked up Harry Mitchell's face?" I didn't really know how to reply to this. I was trying to tell them to stop being violent towards someone, whilst also being responsible for a much more serious incident. I guess I was being more than a little hypocritical, but it didn't seem to matter, as they just turned around, with one last, "I told you he was." Coming from one of them. So basically, because I'd had this one fight, the first fight of my life, I now had a reputation for being someone not to mess with? Well, I guess that's how school works these days. But this was fine by me, at least it stopped a kid from being bullied. A few stops later, the group of boys got off the bus, with a few glances back at me, almost with a look of respect. When the bus started moving again, the kid at the front stood up and moved closer to me, swivelling himself on the seat so he was facing me, his brown eyes immediately grasping my attention. He was similar in height and build to Denholm, but his face was different, with smaller lips and thinner blond eyebrows, barely noticeable against his head. "Thanks for that..." He began, "they're all pricks." He finished with, a smile emerging from his left cheek, showing one small dimple. "I figured they were," I laughed, "are they in your year group?" He nodded, then said, "they normally pick on the younger kids, but they'll do the same to us when we're alone." "Us?" "My group of friends. I'm meeting them now. But I live further away so I have to get the bus to meet them. I think I live near to your house, the one at the bottom of Grange Road?" I nodded, a little surprised he knew where I lived even though I hadn't seen him before. "Was it your dad who took in that kid? We were told about it in school that there would be a new kid joining after the holidays. They said he'd be living with you I think." "Yeah he is, he's called Denholm." "Denholm? That's a weird name. Tell him if he wants to go out anytime then he can come out with us. It's gotta be hard not knowing anyone around here." "Yeah I will do, what's your name? " "Jordan. Here, give him this number." He said, while reaching for a pen and writing it on my arm. For the next ten minutes, we talked casually, mainly about school and what kinds of stuff he and his friends got up to. I'll admit I was a little jealous when he started mentioning things like quad biking, which I'd never really done before. He lived close to me, so I figured he was also quite rich, allowing him to do these sorts of things. When we reached town, I got off, saying goodbye to Jordan as I did so. I shopped for about two hours, buying shoes for myself and picking out a nice suit for Denholm. I also booked a cab to take us to the funeral on Friday. We'd have to leave at about 9 o'clock in the morning, and would be back for about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Besides Friday, I was really looking forward to the weekend. First me and Denholm would be going to the first football match of the season, meaning he would experience a full game without having to leave early because his dad decided to fight someone. I was also looking forward to it because it was against Liverpool, and the atmosphere at this game in the past has been electric. We'd also signed some decent players, so maybe we would be in with a chance of winning the league again. Sunday, again was football. But this time I'd be playing it, and hopefully so would Denholm. I felt like I was fit and ready to play, and I couldn't wait to see the look on everyone's face when a twelve year old humiliates them. Hopefully they take it better than Harry did. Speaking of which, I wondered if he'd be at the game, or worse, his dad. I'd heard stories about his dad. He was, to put it one way, a nutcase. He'd been in and out of prison more times than I can remember in the time that I'd known Harry, normally petty theft but occasionally assault, which is ironic given I'd narrowly avoided that exact charge thanks to Harry. By now, it was three o'clock, so I decided to head home, admittedly eager to see what was going to happen that night. Matty wasn't going to hold back tonight by what he said that morning, and Sam seemed to be the horniest kid I knew. I did think back to what Denholm said the day before, that he wanted to fuck me instead, which I was excited for but also a little worried. I'd never done anything like that before, the furthest I'd gone was with my own fingers, which I found painful even then. I didn't want my first time to be in front of the twins, so I decided to wait until the next time I was alone with Denholm. By the time I'd reached home, it was about four o'clock; traffic was quite bad for a weekday and the bus was considerably more packed than the way into town. I walked in shouting up to my room where I figured they'd be, telling them I was back. They all rushed down, Sam almost tripping on the last step. I was greeted with smiles and inquisitive looks on what I had in the bags. I had to disappoint them when they found out it was all just boring clothes and some food for dinner. I took out the suit and held it against Denholm to see if it looked like the right size. After making sure it was, I asked if it was okay. "Yeah it's fine. Thanks." His smile now fading from his face. I sensed he was now thinking back to what he had to face on Friday, so I quickly pulled him in close to my side and said, "It'll be fine, I'll be there too." He forced a smile, then abruptly changed the subject. "What's the room for next to the garage? It's locked..." I had to think for a minute about which room he was referring to. Then I realised that he was talking about the home gym that I occasionally used. "Oh that's a gym, you can use it if you want, it's just basic weights and stuff if you're interested." "Yeah, sounds good. Maybe I can end up as built as you." He laughed, mockingly posing as a steroid-ridden body builder. We all giggled at this, before I said "I'm not sure you'd suit that look to be honest." "What's that supposed to mean?" He carried on, playfully pushing me and pretending to be aggressive. "You wanting to go in the pool again?" I laughed, before picking him up over my shoulder again and heading toward the kitchen, with groceries still in my left hand. The twins were egging me on at this point, telling me to throw him in the pool. I put the groceries down in the kitchen and headed outside. "Don't don't" Denholm began, barely able to breathe due to laughter. I stopped before the edge of the pool, and pretended to throw him, before Sam pushed us both in, soaking us in the process. This was the second time that day that I'd ended up in the pool fully clothed, and it ended the same way, with both me and Denholm shivering and smiling as we headed back inside, peeling off our clothes and putting them in the tumble drier. I was walking up stairs naked behind Denholm, with the twins following us. I couldn't help but stare at the two magnificent cheeks in front of me, causing me to bone up unintentionally. When we reached my room, Matty moved close to me, wrapping his left arm around me and grabbing on to my shaft with the other, moving it slowly up and down, and then saying, "Is it my turn already?" While smiling at me. "Not now Matty" I replied, gently moving his hand away. "We need to eat first." "Hmmm, fine." He said, as I walked to my wardrobe to find some shorts and a t-shirt. "It'll be ready in about an hour, why don't you play on the Xbox for a bit?" They all agreed and followed me out of the room, as I headed to the kitchen to prepare dinner. I'd picked up a chicken pie from the butchers on the way home, it was big enough for all of us so I put it in the oven and started peeling some potatoes to make mash to go with it. While I waited for the pie to cook, I headed to the gym next to the garage, hoping to work out for at least half an hour. I didn't use it that often, I never really had time when I was still in school. But over the summer I guess I would be able to keep at it with no excuses. There was a weight bench, a rowing machine, some kind of stomach exerciser and a treadmill. Although I never really saw the point in the treadmill, I'd rather run outside in the fresh air. I think we'd set up the gym rather optimistically, obviously my dad couldn't use it much with his back condition, and I wasn't really into fitness or anything then. Over the years it has become a bit of an obsession, something about exercising really helped me to relive stress and anxiety, and I'd always loved the quote from Socrates, "it is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable." But thinking back at this now, I'd realised we don't have to be strong to be beautiful, especially thinking about Denholm. I'd worked out for about half an hour, mainly using the weights bench, although at a low intensity since I didn't want to end up sweating and needing another shower. I looked at my watch and figured that the pie would be ready by now, so I went into the kitchen and served it up on to four plates along with a decent helping of mash potato. I shouted to the twins and Denholm that it was ready, then we sat down at the raised kitchen counter and began to eat. With his mouth half full, Sam asked, "So James, do people know you're gay?" A little surprised by the forwardness of the question, I hesitated, then shook my head. With this, he said, "so what do you do when girls ask you out but you're not interested? I'm guessing that's happened before, given... your looks..." I found myself blushing at this point; I'm not too good when people compliment me. But I sensed he was asking for a reason beyond idle curiosity, as he maintained eye contact with a serious and interested look on his face. I then smiled at him and said, "Is this something you deal with often?" He looked down at his plate, as if I'd caught him out. He then glanced back up and said, "nobody knows I'm gay, or Matty. But girls always find it 'cute' that were twins, and always ask us out or try to hug us and stuff." "And you don't like that?" "It's nice to be noticed I guess... But I always have to make an excuse so that I don't have to go out with them." I smiled again, knowing I was like this throughout recent years. I swallowed a mouthful of pie and said, "The worst thing about being gay and people not knowing, for me, is that girls have no idea, and you always have to seem interested in them, without stepping over the boundary leading to them wanting a relationship. You have to talk to other guys about how hot a certain girl is, and have to answer awkwardly when they ask why you haven't got a girlfriend or why you're not looking for one. And for me, it's torturous to keep such a big secret." By now they were all listening closely, clearly they'd been through similar stuff, but probably not as much given they were only 12 and pressure to have sex or have a girlfriend clearly isn't as bad as it is at my age. "So when will you come out?" Matty asked. I didn't answer him straight away, mainly because I didn't really know the answer. I'd asked myself this question for years. And I'd never built up the courage to do it, I'd never felt the need to. There was so much pressure from others to conform to the norm, and I'd figured I'd 'come out' when I left home, when I had the chance to start afresh. I wasn't planning on hiding for the rest of my life, but since Denholm had come into it, I'd began to want to come out from hiding earlier, as if I'd finally found a reason to do so. I tried to explain this to them, except the part about Denholm, and they hung to every word, not bothering to eat. I looked over at Denholm specifically, who seemed to be contemplating about his own feelings as he stared at the wall behind me before finally, he began to speak with such a soft tone in his voice, "People from my old school knew I was gay. And I was bullied for it. No-one wanted to get changed near me in PE or seem to be too close to me incase they, 'turn gay' too." The twins giggled at this last part, but I was saddened by what he was saying. It made so much sense that he was so shy, given he'd spent the last few years of his life being neglected by his parents and stigmatised by his friends. He continued while looking over at the twins, "the only people that didn't mind were these two." They exchanged warm smiles before Matty turned to me and said, "I'm glad he's got someone here that accepts him. But it sucks that we don't get to see him as much." I finally contributed again, "you can come over whenever you want if your mum lets you. And you can always call or text him if you need to." "That sounds good, especially if we get to sleep in your bed." Sam added with a wink "My turn tonight though." Matty pointed out, moving closer to me as if he were claiming me as his own. "Then it's my turn.." Sam responded. "Turn?" I asked, laughing at the implication that I was being considered as an object passed around the three of them. "Denholm, you wanting a 'turn'?" I asked, Receiving a laugh from each of them. "You belong to me anyway, I can use you when I want." He joked, with an evil grin, moving away from the serious nature of the previous conversation. We carried on talking for about half an hour until we'd finished eating, then Matty and Sam offered to wash up, with Sam making sure to tell me with a menacing look, "make sure you're ready when we get upstairs." ......... End of chapter 10 I'd intended to write more for this chapter, including what happens in the second night. But this would mean posting it at a later date so I thought I'd post this chapter now so you don't lose interest in the story.
