The boy was adopted by a loving family and he is thriving. His friends knows he wears diapers, but they don't care, since 2 of his friend still wears GoodNites to bed. This is fiction, however, never abuse anyone. Please support Nifty, so people like me can write trash ????, while others can write great stories. Nifty is free to read, but what will happen if it goes offline? Chapter 2 will be a description of the neighborhood, the town and local landmarks. The town is a fictionalized version of my hometown in Connecticut. The local landmarks will be English, Algonquin (Native American language) and Dutch (since Dutch were in Connecticut, too.). I'll translate the Algonquin names. The first part of Chapter 2 is about the neighborhood and the town. Yes, you might get bored ????, but it'll be worth it. --------- The neighborhood, Forest Park One and Forest Park Two, is a fairly new housing development. The streets are named after trees of Connecticut and the development has about 250 homes when it will be finished. The main roads, White Oak, Ironwood and Hazelnut loops around the development with other streets, branching off of them. Forest Park One, the first part was built about 10 years ago with American Elm, Black Gum, Tulip, Pepperidge and Redbud, like all of the minor streets branching off White Oak, Dogwood, Red Spruce, Cottonwood and Poplar branching off of Ironwood and Linden, Willow, Honeysuckle, Sycamore, Hornbeam and Cypress branching off of Hazelnut. Forest Park Two, started 5 years ago and some homes are still under construction, with Butternut, Black Walnut, Chestnut and Mulberry branching off White Oak, with Shagbark Hickory, where my parents house is, Paper Birch and Hemlock branching off Ironwood and Hazelnut has White Cedar, Laurel and Sugar Maple, with homes under construction, branching off it. The development, was the farm of one of the town's first settlers, the Forbes, who farmed the area and is one of the oldest companies in the USA. They still farm - dairy, fruits and vegetables, nursery stock and tobacco, but Forbes Family Farms is diversified with retail (Farmworx, stores that sells lawn and garden equipment, clothing, power equipment, hunting accessories, camping equipment and home improvement), logistics (Forbes Logistics), food processing (Forbes Farms, Sunshine Valley and Hillsdale Farms), pet foods (Yellow Sun), seeds (Forbes Gardens), Nursery Stock (Gardeners' Pride) and land development (Forbes Land and Properties) The development was created from the Forbes Farm, which still have 107 acres of farmland in town. The Forbes family has more acreage in the surrounding areas. At the entrance of the development is John Forbes Park, an 18 acre park with the Forbes House as a museum. At the east end of Ironwood is green space, which is known as Forbes Tract. It is 209 acres that is owned by the town. Running through the green space is a railtrail, the 17 mile long Cassacubque (high rocks) Tunnel Rail-Trail. It goes from downtown through the Cassacubque Tunnel to Whitestone Quarry State Park. The town, Ruxley, is a bedroom community (that is where most commute to either Hartford, New Haven, New London, Connecticut or Springfield, Massachusetts) of 46,568 with 4 major industries: Ruxley Precision Technologies (a aerospace parts manufacturer), Quinnipac (a Native American nation that lived in the New Haven area) Medical Devices, Pope Recycling and the Ruxley plant of AmeriPaper, which makes tissues and diapers. Also, Ruxley has 4 industrial parks - Ruxley Industrial Park, rail served by the New Dartford branch of the Connecticut Interstate, the Powntuxet (at the falls) Industrial Park, rail served by the Cobham branch of the Connecticut Interstate Railroad, the Wonkituck (Bent River) Industrial Park, rail served by the Wonkituck Valley Railroad, a short line created when Connecticut Pacific Railroad's Cassacubque Branch was abandoned 26 years ago. The Wonkituck Valley is a 9 mile long line from New Dartford to the CDP of Keelersville, in northern Ruxley. The fourth Industrial Park, is the Spencer Farms Research - Industrial Park. It is at the eastern end of the Ruxley Precision Technologies. The park is mostly an incubator for new businesses. The town is well watered with three small rivers - the Quinapoxet (long swamp) River flows through downtown from the northeast and empties into the Contotook (nut tree river) River, which is the western boundary of the town, the Pissapogue (hothouse) River, which flows from the southeast and empties into Shad Cove, an inlet of the Contotookin the southwest. The Muchquachema (squirrel) River flows west near the southern border before emptying into the Contotook. There are a few ponds in town, the biggest is Quinapoxet Lake, a man-made lake in the downtown area and a few - mostly unnamed - are located in the woods in the town, along with some streams, mostly unnamed. In downtown is the main branch of the library, which is next to the town hall and the town green. There are 4 other branches of the town' library system, which is the Brakefield Library located on Brakefield Avenue, Blaxland Mills Branch on High Street in the CDP of Blaxland Mills, which surrounds the old Blaxland Powder Mill, now condominiums, Roberts Park Branch on Park Street in the CDP of Roberts Park and the Pissapogue Avenue and Marine Science Branch on Shad Cove Street in the northwestern part of town. The downtown is in the western part of town about 2 miles from the Contotook River. The downtown's buildings are single, two or three stories buildings, mostly built at the turn of the century to the mid 1960s. South of downtown is the main plant of Ruxley Precision Technologies, along with a Coke bottling plant. Main Street runs north - south through downtown from the town line of Penhurst, a small town of 1,367 in the south to New Dartford, a town with 11,458 people. East of Ruxley is the towns of Bromley in the northeast, which has a population of 795 people, the city of Cobham, population of 22,458 and the town of Hartley, population of 3,567, which shares the southern border with Penhurst. West of Ruxley is Crayford, population 46,710. West of downtown is two office towers, a 14 story called the Ruxley Tower, which is the home of the Ruxley National and the 11 story Massasic (Great Meadow) Plaza Tower, home to accountants, lawyers and the headquarters of Forbes Farm Industries. Nearby is Contotook River Marina and south of the marina is being built the new Ruxley Institute of Marine Sciences school of Connecticut Atlantic University, which is relocating from Kane Avenue School, which was a school that was closed in the 1970s. Also at Massasic Plaza is RuxleyCitizensFinancial headquarters, which is a two story building. RuxleyCitizensFinancial is a credit union, which started out as the Ruxley Town Employees Credit Union. North of downtown is the intersection of Interstate 88 and US 47 and state Route 69, which was part of a planned I388, I255 highway project. The project was planned in the 1950s but was finally cancelled in 1990s. Now the state is creating a better intersection, which will return 76 acres to the town. Main Street has 7 major streets intersecting it. From the south, the first is Rochambeau Lane, named for the French general who help Washington. Rochambeau Lane goes east to the Hartley town line. Second is Copperpot Brook Road, named for a minor brook in town. It goes east to a north south minor road, Owenville Road, that goes from Penhurst to New Dartford. The third road intersects Main Street, which is called Crayford - Bromley Road, which goes west from Crayford to Bromley. The fourth major street is Massasic Road, which runs west to Crayford. On the southwest corner of Main and Massasic is the First Congregational Church and the northwest corner was the old Ruxley Plymouth dealership, now the Ruxley Bread Company, a coffee and sandwich shop. North of the interstate is the fifth major street, which is Mosshassack (Great Meadow place), which Ys off Main Street with Mosshassack on a left. Mosshassack runs to the CDP of Mosshassack, in New Dartford. The sixth major street is just below the Connecticut Interstate Railroad, which branches off to New Dartford and to Cobham at the Ruxley Railyard, which is Cobham Turnpike, which runs to Cobham. The seventh major road is Constitution Boulevard, which runs northeast to West Cobham, a CDP of New Dartford. ------ Sorry all, this first part is a bit boring. I did this to help you about the town. Now back to the story. ------- When I was woken up on New Years Day, I was in Greyson's crib, I thought back to New Years Eve. I had fun being Baby New Years. I had a new pair of footed pajamas with mittens on my hands. Dad came in and picked me up and carried me to the breakfast nook and placed me into Greyson's old highchair. I looked around and Michael and Owen were here. Owen looked at Michael, then at at me. He said, "How are you this morning, baby? Did you have a nice sleep? Would you like us to feed you your pancakes?" I smiled and said, "Yes! I had a great sleep. You can feed me my pancakes." I knew that they wanted to feed me. Owen said, "You are going to be a good little baby for us today?" That was supposed to be unanswered by me, then Owen kissed me and said, "We are going over to my house for today and tomorrow. We have a surprise for you, baby." Owen's parents has a nice house. In their backyard was a small barn, which was in disrepair until Owen, his siblings and his brothers fixed it up. The barn was remodeled into an office, a woodshop, an oversized 5 car garage, storage space, a full bathroom and a small kitchen. The barn was ruined by a winter storm 7 years ago, but they started to remodeled it 3 years ago. Owen and Michael fed me my pancakes and a bottle of milk, then Michael started a bath for me. He unzipped my footed pjs, unsnapped my onesie, pulled off my plastic pants and unpinned my cloth diapers. He hugged me and said, "Your daddies love you as a baby boy. Now, daddy is going to bathe you." He opened the cabinet under the sink and got out some bath toys. "You daddies got some toys for your baths." He threw the new toys in the tub, then took me and placed me into the bathtub. He played with the toys with me and started to wash me while I played with my toys. After I was bathed, Michael took me to the changing table and put me into a disposable diaper, plastic pants, a onesie and overalls. He put socks on my feet than a coat and said, "Baby, we are loving you so much. Let's go to Daddy Owen's house " Owen's parents house is on Sycamore, so we started up Shagbark Hickory then down Ironwood to the green space between Ironwood and Hazelnut. I walked between Owen and Michael, who were holding my hands. The day was clear but it was cold. We stopped to talk to Rhys Culver and Rowan McQueen, who were schoolmates of ours until they decided to homeschool. We talked to them about their Christmas and the weather, then as we left, Rhys said, "See you at the meeting on the 9th. Bring Tucker, he might like it." We continued on the path between Ironwood and Hazelnut, then we walked up Hazelnut to Sycamore, then to Owen's house. We went into the house and I said hello to his parents and his siblings, then they led me to the barn. Owen opened it up and I saw a playpen 6' by 6' with 5' high walls. Owen sat down and put me on his lap. "Our baby has more surprises today! Would you want to be our baby? You know that we are boyfriends and we'd love you to be part of it, too." I wasn't sure if I could be their baby, but I'll give it a try. I shook my head, then I was undressed with me just in my diapers, plastic pants, onesie and my socks, then was placed in the playpen. I looked around and saw a Brio train set, so I started to play with it. I didn't mind being in a playpen, but I wonder what other surprises will be. ------- Rhys, who was 14 years old, looked at his 12 year old boyfriend and kissed him. Rowan said, "He looked cute as Baby New Years last night. I think he'll be surprised." Rhys said, "Almost as cute as you do, baby. I'll let his daddies decide if he likes being a baby. I think he will enjoy it."
