I can rent databanks to find good movies!" Gilbert said as we feasted on his dishes. Surprisingly, they taste kinda good, but lacks salt and some ingredients. The sun finally set and the hues on the night sky, mixed with the brightly colored holographic ads and buildings was truly magnificent. "Yeah, music helps me relax! Oh, that reminds me, I found new music databanks! Come on! They're limited edition!" I said, pulling him back to the uplifter as the robots cleaned up the mess we've made. "Please don't tell me.... it's ancient music, isn't it?" He asked as we got to my room. "They're not ancient, they're from the 1960s! Isn't it amazing how these databanks survived for almost 400 years? These sound so cool!" I showed him some databanks from James Taylor, John Denver and from C.S.N.Y. The songs that these gentlemen made makes me feel relaxed and focused. "Yeah, ancient! They're 400 years old! Were in 2354 now and you're still listening to those? Taking elderly years to a next level, huh?" Gilbert said as I ignored him and played them on a whatchamacallit called an mp3 player. "Just, immerse yourself and listen to their relaxing music." I said as I pushed him to the bed as I laid down beside him and staring at the ceiling. The mp3 player did it's magic as wonderful tones came out of it. I managed to fix the sound quality of these ancient databanks they called 'USBs'. Ancient people used to sing to make music. Now, we rely on machines to make good quality tones, but their music was...music to my ears. Does that mess up my point? "Yeah, they're not bad, actually. It actually sounds good." Gilbert yawned as we kept listening to ancient songs. I was feeling pretty tired as I fell asleep. The mp3 player was on repeat and I woke up to the sound of Gilbert's voice, singing. I giggled, half awake as he heard it. "What's....ugh....so funny about singing? You're jealous that I can sing?" He said as I opened my eyes and giggled at him. Yeah, his voice was terrible. I looked at the clock as it showed that it's 3 am in the morning. "Let's go back to bed. It's still early. Wait, go back to your bedroom for fuck's sake! My sheets smell like grease!" I said, turning off the mp3 player and pushing Gilbert outside my room. "Me? Smell like grease? You're the grease monkey here, not me! You should take a bath!" Gilbert said as I sniffed myself. Turns out, I'm the one who smells like grease. That reminds me that I actually forgot to take a shower. "Fine! But it's still cold! It's 3 am and it's not the ideal time to take a shower." I said. "Yeah, good point. Scoot over. Your bed is much more comfy than mine!" Gilbert said as I moved to the corner. He lays down and grabbing the pillow that's on my feet. "Just, stop moving and no shaking! I feel dizzy easily! Good night or dawn I dunno. It's almost 4 am and we still have school at 7." I yawned, Gilbert hugging me as we both fell asleep. "Arthur, bud. Wakey wakey. You have school today." I heard Sir's voice as I opened my eyes. Gilbert was sleeping on my chest as I pushed his head away. He looks...cute when he's like that. I woke Gilbert up as he opened his cerulean blue eyes at me. He smiled at me as I pat his cheeks. "Good morning, Artie." He yawned as I got up and helped Gilbert get up. We got out of my room, Sir was cooking and was on the phone. Gilbert went to hit the showers as I went to wake up Artemis and Kelly. "Hey. Kelly, Artemis. Wake up. Sir made hot chocolate!" I whispered as they both woke up. Works everytime. They got out as I cleaned their room. 8 year olds are messy. I found Kelly's drawing about her family. Aww, this is so sweet. She called me and Gilbert, her big brothers. That's cute. "Hey, where's the hot chocolate?" I heard Artemis' voice echo through the kitchen as I bolted out of their room. Shit! I forgot to make it! "Hey now. Just, play some bricks there. Your hot chocolate is gonna be ready soon." I said as the 2 of them nodded and sat down to watch TV(yep, still exists here). I heated the kettle as I mixed the chocolate mix to the hot water. I gave it to them as they drank it. Gilbert finally finished taking a bath and it was now my turn. Judging from his messy blonde hair, he didn't used shampoo. "Uhh, Sir. We're out of shampoo." Gilbert said as Sir opened the grocery bag and gave Gilbert the shampoo. Gilbert went back to the shower as I listened to the TV. "Howdy ho, folks. I'm Janna Fielding, live from New York. Millions gathering today for the international tree planting ceremony. They say that billions of saplings will be planted in every household in every single building." The news anchor said as Sir took out his shovel. "Oh yeah! Anyways, you don't have to worry about your saplings, kids. I'll plant them outside our house. Take care of them, okay?" Sir said as he took the pots with our names and saplings in it. Gilbert finished showering as he grabs the bread from my hand. "Sorry. I'm just really hungry." He said as water dripped from his hair to the bread. "You can have it. I'm gonna take a bath anyway." I said as I entered the shower. I stripped off, turned the hot water on and took a nice, warm shower. I didn't really notice it, but I had some hair growing at the base of my dick. It had 3 or 4 strands of hair. Our science teacher said that it was a normal part of puberty. I also noticed that my dick grew a bit. I cleaned every part of my body as I got out of the shower, feeling fresh and clean as Sir called us to have breakfast. Gilbert was already making coffee as I grabbed the bagel from his hands. "Sorry, I'm just hungry." I giggled as Gilbert proceeded to serve the rice. I went to my room, clothed and arranged stuff. I noticed that Gilbert touched our 'family photo'. He looks really cute here, not gonna lie. Yes, I agree, he had a smile that could outshine a billion stars. He's... god! He's too cute! There I am. A redhead with an insane amount of freckles. My eyes had a yellowish tint when in contact with sunlight and turns back to deep green when I go to the shade. Sir said my genetics were rare and that seems kinda cool. Sir said that there was a pendant on my basket where he found me. I had no idea what it meant, but whenever I wear it, I feel safe. Sir also said that my parents wrote their messages, my name and birthdate. They said they needed to leave and escape Chicago due to some reasons. I still believe that one day, they'll eventually find me. But for now, I'm happy with all I have. I wore my pendant, slicked back my hair and had breakfast. We said goodbye to Sir and got to the school bus. "Pecans!" I shouted as Gilbert dropped his databanks in shock. "Okay fine, I'll wait for you. Just be quick and make that 2 bags of pecans." Gilbert said as I crossed the street. Nuts are the most amazing food in the face of the earth! Macadamia, walnut, pistachio, almonds, every kind of nut! I bought 2 small bags of salted pecans and went back to the bus. For the first time, I didn't bring any blueprints to write my ideas with. The bus ride was calm and Gilbert held my hand as he and I ate the nuts. I loved the feeling of Gilbert holding my hand. It feels warm and cozy, just knowing he's beside me. I looked down on him as I turned on the mp3 player and we listened to some ancient songs. I didn't notice it but his head ended up on my shoulder. It felt...nice to be frank. He looks up at me as his he smiled warmly at me. His other hand ended up on my thigh as Riley came to us. "H-Hey Arthur. Gilbert, I want to talk to Arthur." She said, waking Gilbert up. "Sorry. As his half brother/his bestest friend in the whole name of the goddamn universe, I'll say no. He's still in the post-breakup phase and no. I don't want you to meddle with my therapy session." Gilbert said as Riley pulled me out of my seat. "Look, Arthur... I'm terribly sorry about breaking up with you. I..... It's just....uhh..." I stopped her from talking. "No, it isn't your fault. It's not you, it's me. I've been selfish for the past few weeks." I said. "O-oh. That's mature of you to say that." She kissed my cheek softly as we got off. Gilbert walked with me. "So, you and Riley back together?" He asked. "Uh..no. Why?" I asked. "Just curious. Why are you still after Riley?" He asked again. "Yeah, she's amazing not gonna lie." I answered. Riley was cool. "Why do you need Riley? You obviously have me here!" He said, covering his mouth. What? "Uhh...what now?" I giggled. "I mean...you have me here to...console you and make you feel happy! Always remember that, Artie." He said, hugging me. "Oh. That's cool, Gil. I value your companionship too! You're the bestest friend ever!" I hugged him tightly as well. "Yeah. The power of friendship." He said, but in a weird tone. His face frowned as I held his hand tightly and we hugged again. I had no idea what I was doing, but a powerful urge came to me and wants me to kiss him. Fuck! Arthur! Get.... the... fuck.... back... to... your... senses! No matter what I did, it just snapped. Our lips touched for 2 and a half seconds as we jumped and repelled away from each other. "Dude! What the fuck did you just do?!!" Gilbert said. "I-I don't know! I was just....doing what you were doing! You know what, maybe it's just emotions playing around with us. Let's agree to not talk about that ever again." I said as we both laughed awkwardly. Shit! I don't know what the fuck happened there, but...why do I want to kiss Gilbert?! That was entirely wrong. Unintentional and nothing at all. Maybe we'll just laugh about this one day. That's not supposed to happen. It was all just... emotions playing with us. We got in the classroom as our History teacher came in. Gilbert can't seem to let go of my hand as Tyler came between us. "Hey Arthur! How's your rocket powered jetpack going?" Tyler said as Gilbert said that I was grounded. "Hey, it actually works! I just need the steerer to be connected. Man, I hate it when I'm grounded. My mind's running wild and I desperately need a blueprint I can work on." I said. Tyler was bummed out by that as Mr. Peterson told us to shush. We were discussing about the carbon footprints from the 22nd century when I noticed that Gilbert can't stop looking at Rosetta. "Maybe you should ask her out rather than spying on her like a creep." I whispered as I may have startled him. "What? No! I can't do it! It's not like I have the skills and the looks." He said. "So you do like her!" He smiled as he nodded. "Oh! This is epic! You need to man up and tell her how you feel!" I said as a brilliant idea came to my mind. "How about I teach you some skills I learned from the past month? You know why all the girls I loved before are still head over heels for me? Well, I have the skills! Since I'm your half brother/your bestest friend in the whole name of the goddamn universe, I'll help you! I'll be your trusty wingman! You'll be like Mario and I'll be your Luigi!" I said as Gilbert and I were excited about it. I sure hope it'll turn out great. --------------- TO BE CONTINUED...
