This story is about sex between boys and is therefore a total fantasy. It was written by an adult for the entertainment of other adults. No children or animals were either involved or harmed in the writing of this story. Please leave now if you are not supposed to be here.

Writing the continuing saga of the Kids of Indian Spring has become a real community effort. My original intention was to conclude the Sandy Jacobs Story after Chapter 10. But my primary co-author and invaluable assistant, Pietar, convinced me that the many loose ends left open by the original author, Jonas Henley, needed to be resolved. As a result, he became the principal author of Chapters 11, 12, and 13. Thank you Pietar for your original ideas, brilliant writing and your continued dedication and commitment to this project. Now a third author, Nick, has volunteered to take on the role of crafting the future long-term direction of the story. You may recall that Nick was first involved in Chapter 12C. Please ensure you make Nick welcome by dropping him a line.

Sunday June 2, 1996 – Sandy Jacob's Home

There was nothing on television. Kevin had left because of appointments. Brad was out with Sean, probably at Cal Brewer's house. Stevie and Chase were out in the backyard, and Sandy was bored to death. Since school had less than a week to go he didn't even have any homework. As he stared out the front window, thinking about taking a walk to the park, a car pulled up in front of the house. It took only a moment for him to recognize his Uncle Carlton. He couldn't see everyone in the car, but it appeared to be the whole family. Sandy liked his cousins so this was a welcome sight.

"Dad," Sandy called into the kitchen where his Mom and Dad were enjoying coffee. "Uncle Carlton's here."

"Oh Good," said Sam Jacobs as he entered the living room and opened the front door. "He called this morning and said they'd be coming by. He has some exciting news that he wants to share with us."

"Cool," replied Sandy as he wondered what was going on.

The first visitor to come bounding through the door was his 10 yr. Old cousin Cecil. "Hi Uncle Sam. Hi Aunt Karla. Is Stevie here?" the energetic boy asked.

"He's out in the backyard with Chase," answered Sandy.

"Hi Sandy and thanks. I'm gonna go out back and see them," said Cecil as he headed toward the backdoor.

Next, Connor, who was 15, and his 12-year-old brother Cole came in. They exchanged hugs and handshakes with Sandy's parents and then came across the room to Sandy. "Hey cuz! How's it going," asked Connor.

"It's going good. How about you guys?" said Sandy. "I didn't expect to see you today. This is a nice surprise."

"We got a bigger surprise for you. Wait till you hear the news my Dad has," Cole blurted out excitedly.

At that moment Carlton and Susan Jacobs entered the room accompanied by their 11-year-old daughter Cindy. Cindy was a bit shy and stayed close to her mothers side. Carlton extended his hand to Sam and said, "Good to see you, big brother."

"Good to see you too Carlton. Don't keep us in suspense now. What's the exciting news you have?"

"Well, we just got down finishing up some paperwork with Mr. Hal Tucker and it looks like we are going to be neighbors soon. We're moving to Indian Spring."

"My goodness," said Karla. "That is news. Why don't you all come into the kitchen and tell us more about it. I've got a fresh pot of coffee and a real tasty pound cake."

"That sounds good to me," said Susan.

"Come on Carlton. Let's sit down and you can tell us all about it," said Sam as he gestured toward the kitchen door.

As the adults headed to the kitchen Sandy looked at Cole and Connor and asked, "You want to go outside and see what the kids are doing?"

"Sure," answered Connor. "I'm tired of listening to grown-ups talking. We've been doing that for the last 2 hours."

As the boys headed into the backyard and toward the picnic table where Stevie, Chase, Cecil and Ethan Tucker were engaged in an animated conversation with lots of laughing and arm waving. As the three newcomers sat down at the table Stevie said, "Ethan was just telling us about the movie Dragonheart. He got to go see it last night and it had really cool special effects."

"Sounds exciting. Did you know the guys are gonna be moving to Indian Spring?" Sandy asked Stevie.

"Yeah, Cecil told me and then Ethan came over to tell me too. I think it's great. We got enough guys for a Jacob's basketball team now."

"Hey," joked Ethan. "What about me?"

"You're here enough to be an honorary Jacobs," answered Sandy.

"When are you guys moving," Stevie asked Cole and Connor.

"I'm not sure yet," replied Connor. "This is all happening so fast. I know Mom and Dad have to go to the bank on Wednesday and sign more papers, then I think we own the place."

"Are you gonna show us around and introduce us to the other kids?" Cole asked Stevie.

"You bet. I'll be happy to show off my cool cousin," answered Stevie with a smile. He liked Cole and the idea of him being around to play every day sounded good. He also thought Cole had a great body.

"You already know me," added Ethan, "and we'll introduce you to the rest of the guys."

"I can introduce you to the older guys," Sandy said to Connor. "Most of the guys around here are pretty cool."

"Thanks," said Connor. "I never moved before and making all new friends is kind of scary."

"What do you guys say to heading out to the driveway and shooting some hoops?" asked Sandy.

"Good idea," said Cecil. "I wanna show you how good I'm getting."

"Let's go then," Stevie said. "The basketball is on the front porch."

"I'll get it," yelled Cecil as he took off at a run. Cole and Connor followed and Stevie tugged at Sandy's arm to hold him back.

When the cousins were leaving the backyard Stevie looked at Sandy and stated "Cole is 12 now."

"I know." Sandy replied. "But don't you say a word about it. They might be kin but they're not Mackeys. Any talk about The Choosing could get you in BIG trouble. Understand?"

Stevie nodded his head. "The same goes for you Ethan. No talk about July 15th," Sandy said firmly.

"I got it," answered Ethan.

"Okay then, let's go play some B-Ball." Sandy said as they headed out to the front yard.

In the kitchen the adults were discussing Carlton and Susan's new home. "Mr. Tucker said this is the first deed he's gotten cleared but he's working on two others. He believes there's going to be bit of a boom in real estate here and I'm getting in on the ground floor. We could never afford this much house anywhere else around here," Carlton rambled on excitedly.

"We we're both real happy for you," said Sam as he put his arm over his wife's shoulder. "I think it's a great opportunity for you and Susan and I bet the boys will love it. We have the park nearby and a ballfield and of course the spring."

"Uhm, oh yeah, speaking of the boys," Carlton stumbled. "How about we go outside and check on them."

Sensing that his brother wanted to talk alone Sam readily agreed, and the two men walked out onto the front porch. The Jacobs boys and Ethan Tucker were playing in the driveway about 30 feet away. Sam couldn't help but notice how much Connor and Sandy looked alike. They could easily pass for brothers.

Both men paused a moment to admire their kids playing together. It was a friendly game and all the boys made an effort to keep Cecil, the smallest one in the group, involved and allowed him to make a few shots.

Carlton broke the silence. "Mr. Tucker said I should speak to you about local Mackey customs and Cole. I hear they have some sort of initiation for 12-year-olds and since we are going to be living here, I need to know more. Hal seemed to think it was important."

Sam was stunned for a moment. "Uh, yes. It is important if you're going to be living here. You caught me off guard on this one. Why don't we go around back where we can sit and I'll fill you in on things," he suggested.

"Sounds good to me," replied Carlton as he followed his brother around back. The two men each took a seat in the lawn chairs under the oak tree.

"Damn," laughed Sam. "I haven't felt this awkward about a conversation since Chase came home from first grade and asked me what Fuck meant. The only way I know how to do this is to get right to the point, sooo, the Mackey's have a tradition that dates back over 150 years that all their 12-year-old boys go through. Sort of a rite of passage and an initiation into the Mackey brotherhood. They take all the 12-year-olds out into the woods, strip them and bend them over a log and put them on display for all the other boys. The boys vote on who they think has the best ass by writing their names on the kids back. Each year the boys with the most votes are made what they call Community Bottoms. That means all the other boys are allowed to fuck them. But there are strict rules that govern who and how often they can be used. I don't remember all the provisions. If you need details, Sandy would be the best to speak to on that. He's on the Council that runs things."

When Carlton didn't ask for further clarification, Sam continued.

"Anyway, the bottoms serve a term of a couple of years. They pick a different number of bottoms each year and the kids that serve are sort of highly respected. During the Choosing Ceremony the boys usually have to give a couple of blow jobs, supposedly for misbehavior, but it's really just part of the rite. Bradley went through it last year and Stevie's in it this year. It's kind of important if your kids want to be part of the community. All the descendants of Payton Jacobs, that's our great-grandfather, are considered Mackeys in Indian Spring terms. That means, as soon as you and your family move here, they'll be considered Mackey as well. Sandy missed the Choosing Ceremony when he was 12 because we lived in Bartlett at the time. But that came back to bite him in the ass, when we moved here."

"Big brother, if I didn't know you better, I's swear you were pulling my leg. I had heard rumors of Mackey rituals, but I never knew they were true. You say this rite is supported by most of the community?"

"It's more than supported, it's part of the way they do things around here. I told you this has been going on for a long time. It's probably the biggest event of the year for the kids," Sam said.

"This is kind of a lot to take in at once," said Carlton. "I'm not putting my kids in danger, am I?"

"Hell No," answered Sam. "I told you my kids are involved. There are rules for safety and an elected Council of the older boys that oversee things for fairness. I know it sounds wild, but it's just part of living here."

Sam looked at his brother before continuing, "There are two categories of families living in Indian Spring. The largest group are the Mackey. They are all descendants of Thomas, James, Andrew and Oliver Mackey, the original European inhabitants of the region dating back to 1832. The Jacobs intermarried with that lot a dozen times in the past, so the Jacobs family are considered part of that extended clan through family and blood connections. The second category of families living here are called "Near Springers" and are generally not bound by regulations affecting Mackey youth, but may find themselves caught up in the "old traditions" in certain circumstances. For example, Hal Tucker's own son, Kelley, was at the Choosing last year, because of some obscure loophole. The thing is, being a full Mackey around here sets you up for life in terms of acceptance by the community. That might change as more new families move in, but who knows?"

"My plumbing business has developed a good base in Bartlett and Cool Spring. I am really hoping to grow more here in Indian Spring. I need to be a part of things. I don't want to be an outsider," Carlton thought out loud. "What should I do Sam?"

"To be honest, I don't know. New families moving in is not an everyday event here. Let me talk to some people and I'll find out how this should be handled. For now, don't say a word to anyone, especially the boys. Just knowing about this could get them in trouble. Give me a day or two and I'll call you. Don't look so nervous Carlton. We'll work this out."

"I trust you Sam. I'm just starting to understand now why your kids always look so happy. They can get laid whenever they want and they won't get in trouble," he said with a smile

"Come on Mr. Comedian, Let's go get some lunch." The two men headed toward the kitchen door as Sam pondered how he was going to help his brother.

Sam suggested they go get pizza, but the ladies wouldn't hear of it. Karla was assembling a cold cut platter; Susan was making soup, and Cindy was folding napkins and setting the table. When Sam went to call the boys in he discovered Brad had returned accompanied by Sean and Kevin. Having Sean, Kevin or Ethan joining them for a meal was not unusual, but all three at once, plus Carlton's family, was a bit more than the Jacob's dining room could handle. Sam suggested the boys get their lunch and eat out back at the picnic table. The kids were more than happy with that plan. As the kids filled their plates they headed outside the adults, plus Cindy, enjoyed a quiet lunch indoors.

After the meal and, a quick clean-up, Carlton announced that they had to go. Moving day was coming quickly and there was a lot to do. Once the visitors had departed the boys returned to the back yard to discuss the new neighbors.

"Ethan thinks Cole is cute," said Stevie with a big grin.

"I didn't say that," muttered Ethan as he began to blush. "I said he had a nice butt."

Brad joined in and agreed with Ethan." He does have a nice little rear on him."

Sandy was shaking his head in disbelief. "Guys, these are our cousins. You shouldn't be talking like this about them."

"Well, they aren't my cousins so I'm allowed to say Connor is Hot!!" joked Kevin. "He looks a lot like you Sandy so you should take that as a compliment."

"I'll vote for Cole," said Sean. "His little body looks great to me."

"God," Sandy groaned. "You guys are impossible."

"It's the time of the year," replied Brad. "Everybody starts getting horny thinking about July. We can't help it." This got a laugh from everyone except Stevie. He was more nervous than horny but he didn't really care to admit it.

"Since you guys brought that up, I want to remind everybody that Connor and Cole are not Mackey's. Well, not yet anyway. Watch what you say around them, or you could get in big trouble."

Everyone nodded their agreement. Since there was school tomorrow, the group broke up early and they headed toward their respective homes.

Brad and Chase were in the house chatting with their mother. Stevie had not yet returned from walking Ethan home. Sam Jacobs was in the living room reading his newspaper and Sandy was enjoying some alone time sitting on the front porch. He had expected it to be a really boring day, but instead it had turned out to be fun. He was a bit concerned about the Cole situation. Cole was a good-looking kid and would probably get quite a few votes if he were in The Choosing. Being bottomed as soon as you move into the neighborhood would certainly not make you feel welcome. He didn't live here yet and maybe the List would be out before they moved in. They probably wouldn't want to add a kid after the List was out, or would they? If the kid didn't go through The Choosing, he wouldn't be a real Mackey and he'd be excluded from a lot of the things that the Jacob's boys would be doing. This was going to be a real problem.

Sandy was running all the different possible scenarios through his mind, when his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the front door opening and his dad stepped out onto the porch.

"Mind if I join you?" Sam asked the boy.

"No, come on out."

"What do you think of the idea of your cousins moving into the neighborhood?" Sam asked his son as he sat down next to him.

"I like it," Sandy responded. "Connor is a good guy and I think Cole and Cecil will fit right in with Stevie and his gang."

"I agree," said Sam. "What do you think about Cole and The Choosing?"

"That's what I was just tossing around in my head. I'm not sure what I think. It's really complicated."

"Do you think I should talk to somebody about it?" Sam asked.

"No, don't do that Dad. I agree we need to talk to someone, but I think I should do it. I'm going to get with James tomorrow after school. I'll fill him in on what's going on and see what he thinks. As the Near Springer Representative, he has a foot in both camps."

"That sounds like a plan," said Sam. "Let me know what you learn after you me with him. I want to tell your Uncle what's going on so he can talk to Cole first if necessary."

"What does Uncle Carlton think of all this?" Sandy inquired.

"He wants what's best for his kids. He doesn't like the idea of them being left out of things. He wants the whole family, himself included, to be a part of things here."

"Good," said Sandy. "It's a lot easier to figure out what to do if we have the parents support."

"I guess that about covers what was on my mind. Let me know what James says tomorrow. Right now, I'm gonna go and see if there is any of your mom's cake left. Wanna join me?"

"Yeah. That sounds like a good idea, Lead the way," said Sandy as he followed his dad into the house.

Monday June 3, 1996 - Sandy Jacob's Home

The school day had passed quickly. Final exams were over and there was more socializing than work. Just 2 more days and the school year was over. Brad hadn't come home from school yet. Stevie had headed over to Ethan Tuckers place and Chase was busy watching cartoons. Sandy had no homework so he was only waiting on his mom to get home so he could go over to James Cormack's house and talk about Cole. He was making himself a glass of chocolate milk when the doorbell rang. He was hurriedly putting the milk away when Chase yelled, "Sandy, James is here."

When he got to the front hallway, he saw the older boy watching TV with Chase. "Hey James, I didn't expect you."

"My mom said you called to say you needed to talk with me and she said you sounded serious. Is anything wrong?"

"No. Nothing's wrong, but somethings come up that I'm not sure how to deal with," said Sandy.

"Well tell me about it and we'll see if we can't solve the problem."

"Why don't you come in the kitchen and we can talk," suggested Sandy.

"Sounds good. I was just catching up on the adventures of Ren and Stimpy with my friend Chase here," answered James as he tousled Chase's hair getting a big smile from the younger boy. "Lead the way."

The two teens sat at the kitchen table and Sandy explained the situation with Cole moving to town. James listened and then started asking questions.

"First, do you know when they're moving in?"

"Somewhere around the first week in July," answered Sandy.

"Damn," said James. "It would be a lot simpler if it was after the 15th."

"Yeah, I know. Then we'd have a year to figure it out," added Sandy.

"I'll tell you what I do see," explained James. "Since he's a relative of yours who's going to be living in Indian Spring and he's 12 years old, he's going to have to go through a Choosing. The question in my mind is should it be this year or next. This year's list will already be out so he doesn't have to go this year. But that means he'll be on the list next year, and until then he'll have no rights or privileges. Does he know anything about this yet?"

"No, I don't think so. He may have heard stories, but he never mentioned it to me," Sandy said.

"How about his parents?" asked James. "How do you think they'll react?"

"My Uncle Carlton has a business. He wants to fit in and be part of the town. I heard him tell my Dad that."

"Good. That will make it easier to deal with them."

"Do you want to talk to the parents or do you want me to do it?" asked James.

"My Dad said he'd explain it to my uncle first then I'll explain it to the guys."

"Guys!" said James. "I thought we were talking about one boy."

"I guess I didn't mention the others. There are 3. Cecil is 10 so he's not a problem right now. Cole is the 12-year-old and his brother Connor is 15."

"Wow, the town is growing," laughed James. "You're right. We don't have to worry about the 10-year-old now, but big brother Connor is an issue too. I'm not sure how we'll deal with him. Now I understand why Mom said you sounded concerned. This is complicated."

"Yeah, well I want to do it right because they're related to me and I don't want anybody to think they got special privileges. You understand?"

"I'm going to fill Jason in on this. In the meantime, let your dad talk to your uncle and explain things. Cole is going to have to go through a Choosing whether it's this year or next. Then, if your uncle agrees, you talk to Cole and his big brother. No point in bringing in the 10-year-old yet. Be straight with them. Don't sugar coat things or make any promises. The kid's chances at selection time are the same as anybody else."

"I'll do that. After I talk with them I'll let you know how it went," said Sandy.

"Good. I want to be kept informed. Actually," James added thoughtfully. "I'd like to meet your cousins. Do you think you could arrange that after you talk with them?"

"Sure, I can set something up."

"Okay then, you take care of your part and I'll fill Jason in. If he has any more ideas, I'll call you."

"Thanks James. I don't feel like I'm handling this alone anymore," said Sandy.

The boys shook hands and James went on his way. Sandy filled his Dad in on the talk and Sam said he would contact Carlton. Sandy felt like he had made some progress.

Friday June 7, 1996 - The Hardin House

The week passed quickly and school was finally out for the summer. Tim Hardin had just gotten himself a Coke out of the frig and was heading outside when there was a knock on the door. When he opened the door he found his 13-year-old cousin Kyle.

"Hey Tim. I got some information you wanted," said the younger boy.

Tim was not quite awake yet, and he had no clue what the boy was referring to. He gave his cousin a confused look and sat down on one of the chairs on the porch. "What are you talking about Kyle?" he asked.

"You remember you said you needed a kid with a big dick for something you're gonna do at The Choosing? I think I found the right guy for you."

Tim's mind sprang to life. He was interested in this. It could be the missing piece of his master plan. "Who is it," he asked.

"Remember, you said you'd get me a jar of shine and a joint if I found the right guy," said Kyle.

"I remember and I'll keep my word. Now who are you talking about?" demanded Tim.

"Jeff Garvin," stated Kyle. "Everybody told me he had one of the biggest dicks in the 7th grade and yesterday I saw it and it's true."

"Did you ask the boy to show you his dick?" laughed Tim.

"No, I didn't have to. We were down at the creek yesterday and Jeff got up on the bridge and took a piss. It was hanging right out in front of me and it was as big as a hot dog. I'm not lying."

Tim was smiling from ear to ear as he listened to Kyle's story. Now if he could just get Jeff Garvin to play along things would be perfect. "Does Jeff get high?" Tim asked Kyle.

"Course he does," answered Kyle. "He likes to party."

"Good job Kyle. I knew I could count on you."

"So do I get my reward?" asked Kyle.

"If Jeff will help me out you will get what I promised. Hell, I'll make it 2 joints," said Tim.

"Cool," replied Kyle. "I'll talk to Jeff if you want."

"No, you leave that to me. I'll tell you if I need any more help."

"Okay. I'm heading over to the park to see who's hanging out. Is there gonna be a bonfire tonight?" Kyle asked.

"You bet." said Tim. "Come on by and we'll have some fun."

Kyle headed off to the park and Tim sat on his porch thinking. I wonder how Sandy Jacobs is gonna feel about a hot dog sized dick going in his little brother's butt. The thought made him laugh out loud.

Saturday June 8, 1996 - The Jacobs House

Sandy was as prepared as he could be. He had been making plans for the past 3 days and while he wasn't comfortable, he felt he was up to the task at hand. Wednesday evening his dad had called his Uncle Carlton and explained things to him. Cole would not be forced into this year's Choosing, but if he didn't attend he would definitely be included in next year's event. And being the only 13-year-old on the line was never a recipe for success. Uncle Carlton said he would have a talk with Cole and Connor and fill them in, but he wanted Sandy to talk with them also. He felt that someone their own age might be better able to explain what was going on. Sam suggested that Carlton bring the boys over for a sleepover on Saturday so they would have all night to talk. Since he expected this to be a serious evening for the older boys, Carlton suggested he take Chase and Cecil home with him and they would rent a movie or something.

Sandy called a "brothers" meeting with Stevie and Brad and told them the situation. Both boys agreed they would help any way they could. As the Jacobs boys discussed Cole's situation they all agreed it might be better if Cole went this year. Stevie would be with him and he wouldn't have to worry about it for a whole year. Sandy decided he would try to convince Cole of the advantages of going this year, but the final decision was Cole's.

At 1 o'clock the visitors arrived. The adults went into the living room to talk and Sandy helped Connor and Cole bring in their sleeping bags and pillows. Bradley and Stevie had set up the cellar with a cooler full of drinks and a snack table. Carlton and Susan didn't stay long as they wanted to give the boys as much time as possible to talk. Just after they left with Chase and Cecil, Sam and Karla Jacobs announced that they were going shopping and would be back in a few hours. The five boys now had the house to themselves. At Sandy's suggestion they moved into the living room and everyone took a seat.

There was an awkward silence in the room as the boys stared at one another. It took Sandy a moment to realize this conversation was not going to get started without his help so he opened up with a little speech he had rehearsed.

"Okay guys. We all know why we're here and I understand that this probably feels really weird to talk about but it's important for Connor and Cole to learn what it's going to be like when they move here. I know your dad told you a little about this," Sandy said as he looked at his cousins. "So why don't we start by you telling us what you know."

Cole, who was blushing a bit, spoke first. "Dad told us that they have kind of an initiation each year where they take all the 12-year-olds, strip us naked and make us bend over a log while they check out our butts. Then they vote on which butts they like and the ones who get the most votes have to let the other kids, uhh, you know, fuck them. Is that really true?" Both Cole and Connor were staring intently at Sandy waiting for his answer.

"That's a really simple version of things, but yes. It's true."

"I think that's crazy," said Cole with a mix of anger and frustration in his voice. "I don't wanna move here," he added tearfully. Connor gave his brother a sympathetic look and Stevie got up from his chair and knelt in front of his cousin.

"Don't say that Cole. We want you to live here. I think you're gonna like it. The Choosing isn't fun if you're 12, but it's not as bad as it sounds. I'm in it this year and if I can do it, I know you can."

The fear that had been building up inside the boy since his dad had told him about The Choosing finally broke out. "I don't like people seeing me naked, and I don't want kids I don't even know to fuck me," sobbed Cole.

Stevie got up from the floor and slid into the overstuffed chair with his cousin. He put his arm around Cole's shoulder and held him while the boy wept.

"What about me," asked Connor. "Do I have to do it too?"

"They're not really sure how they're going to handle you yet because of your age. They could put you through The Choosing, but the truth is nobody really wants a 15-year-old bottom, so it would just be for show. I'm waiting to hear what they say and I'll let you know," Sandy told him.

"Are bottoms the kids who get picked to be fucked?" asked Cole still a bit teary.

"Yes," answered Sandy. "The full title is Community Bottom."

"Dad said some kids get fucked there and have to give blowjobs in front of everybody. Is that true?" asked Connor as he adjusted his growing dick inside his pants.

"It's true," said Sandy. "The kids who get selected as Bottoms get publicly fucked at the end and kids who earned checkmarks have to give blowjobs."

"Do the kids who get picked end up turning gay?" Cole wanted to know.

"No, not at all," Brad jumped in. "I have some real good friends that are bottoms and if I didn't tell you you'd never know. They're just regular kids like you and me, but they have a special job."

"Do the other kids make fun of you if you're a bottom?" Connor asked. "I mean, you know, do they spread it around school that they fucked you and stuff?"

"Hell no," said Sandy. "If they did they'd be in BIG trouble. This is all very secret and only Mackeys know about it. Which means you two can't say a word about any of this to anyone except us. If you're caught telling Mackey secrets they'd make you a bottom real quick."

Cole, who was regaining his composure looked at Stevie and asked, "Are you scared?"

"No, not scared really. I'm worried. I don't really want to be a bottom. Some days I think about it a lot and kinda get worked up. But then I talk with Ethan or Brad and they help me calm down. I'm gonna be taking my chances like every other kid there and whatever happens I'll deal with it."

Sandy was noticing that throughout most of the conversation his cousin Connor was discreetly rubbing his dick. He hadn't seen Connor naked in a long time and he found himself thinking about what the older boy looked like. Then Brad broke the silence.

"You guys must play around a little right. I mean sex play. Everybody jerks off and stuff."

Brad's statement drew Cole's attention and Connor started blushing.

"You don't have to be embarrassed. It's normal. Kids our age get horny. With the bottoms you can play around and you won't get in trouble," Brad added with a smile.

"Yeah, that part is cool," said Stevie as he and Cole exchanged glances. They had played around and explored each other's bodies on numerous occasions.

"Do I have to decide today?" asked Cole softly.

"Heck No," said Sandy. You don't have to decide until July 14th if you don't want to."

"Good, this is just too much to think about right now. I'm not sure what I want to do," his cousin replied.

"Look," suggested Sandy. "I think we've talked about this enough for now. Why don't we all take a walk and we'll show you around town?"

"Sounds good to me; Let's go check out our new surroundings little brother," said Connor as he rose from his chair and gave Cole a pat on the shoulder.

The boys started their tour just a few blocks away at the Brewer home. As Sandy rang the doorbell he told his cousins. "This is a good friend of mine and Brads and he has a little brother about Cecil's age. Chase comes over here a lot in the summer because they have a pool."

Ben Brewer opened the door and said Hi to everyone. "Cal's out back, do you want me to get him?" the youngster asked.

"If it's okay with you we'll just go on back," answered Sandy.

"Sure," said Ben. "I'm watching TV. Where's Chase?"

"He's away for the weekend, but he'll be back tomorrow," Sandy said. Ben nodded, slightly disappointed.

Brad led the group back to the pool area where they found Cal enjoying a little skinny dip.

When Cal saw the group with two kids he didn't know he hopped out of the water and grabbed his towel from the deck. Sandy noted that Connor's eyes followed him on his naked walk.

Brad took charge of the introductions and Cal shook hands with the newcomers. Connor got very talkative with Cal. They talked about the pool and swimming. The neighborhood and little brothers.

Cole leaned over and asked Stevie, "Do you come over here to swim?"

"Sometimes," answered Stevie.

"Do you swim naked?" asked Cole with a grin.

"Whenever I can," said Stevie with a giggle. He was happy to see his cousin laughing.

Cal offered the boys a soda but Sandy declined for the group saying they had to keep moving as they had more territory to cover. The Jacobs boys said good bye and headed out. Connor kept looking back hoping Cal would lose the towel and jump in the pool, but it didn't happen.

The next place Sandy took the boys to was the field. The field was just that. A big open field a little over half the size of a football field. At the far end was an old metal Quonset hut with a sign that said County Maintenance. The County workers were rarely there but they did mow the field once a month or so. It was the perfect spot for a game of football or baseball or kite flying or whatever you wanted. Some kids came here at night to catch lightening bugs or just hang out and talk.

Next on the tour was the ballfield. There was a game going on so there were a lot of kids there. As they neared the fence where everyone was lined up watching the game, they were spotted by Kevin and Sean Mackey. Kevin was still a little miffed that Sandy had told him they couldn't get together this weekend due to some family business, but when he saw the Jacobs cousins, he got over his attitude. He had been concerned that Sandy was hanging out with someone else. Kevin couldn't control his jealousy at times.

Besides, the older boy, who looked a lot like Sandy, really interested him. He wanted a closer look.

"Sean, let's go say Hi to the Jacobs gang," suggested Kevin.

"Sure," replied Sean. "I want to find out what Brad's doing tonight."

When the Mackey brothers came over they said hello and Sandy introduced them to Connor and Cole as soon to be new neighbors. Sean asked how old Cole was and nodded when he heard the answer, but the stern look Brad gave him made him drop the subject immediately. Kevin was really taken with Connor and moved next to him. Sean, Brad, and the two younger boys were watching the game and Sandy was watching Kevin chat with Connor. They talked about school, sports, hobbies and Indian Spring. Kevin showed interest in everything Connor said, but what he was really thinking about was how much he wanted to see his new acquaintance naked. What Sandy didn't realize was that Connor was thinking the same thing.

Finally, Sandy decided he'd better rescue his cousin before Kevin grabbed his ass or offered him a blow job. "Hey Kevin, can I talk to you alone a second."

"Sure buddy, what's up?" Kevin asked as he followed Sandy a short distance away from the group.

"You seem to like Connor," Sandy said unable to stop himself from smiling.

"Your cousin is Hot. Does he fuck?" Kevin blurted out excitedly.

Sandy was now laughing out loud. "First off, you need to remember he's not a Mackey. Well, not till he moves here. Second, I don't know if he wants to fuck. I do know that he's horny though."

"Shit," said Kevin. "I almost forgot he's new. I'm ready to risk it though. I want to see that body!"

"Well, you're gonna have to cool your jets for a bit. James is working on how we handle his case. Give it a little time."

"Can I come over tonight?"

"I'll still be with my cousins. They're staying over, but why don't you come over early and we'll play a game or watch a movie or something."

"How about strip poker," suggested Kevin.

Just come over and we'll figure it out. I've got to introduce these guys to more kids so why don't you go home and take a cold shower to calm down," said Sandy.

"Very funny. I'll see you about 7 then. Okay?"

"That'll be good. Invite Sean so Brad has a friend too."

They returned to the group and Kevin and Sean left and went back to mingling with the crowd. At Sandy's suggestion, they walked around the field and bumped into Tolley, Cooper and Tanner. Once again Sandy introduced everyone.

"I don't want to seem rude," said Cooper," But I gotta watch the game a minute. Reeve is up next."

Cole and Connor looked at Sandy questioningly, so Sandy explained. "Reeve is Cooper's best friend and he's an amazing hitter. Let's watch."

Reeve stepped up to the plate. The Coolspring pitcher was very good and he quickly got 2 strikes on the batter. The third pitch however, was followed by a loud CRACK and the ball was over the fence and headed toward Bartlett. Reeve had hit another homerun. The Indian Spring bleachers broke into loud applause and Reeve started his run around the bases as the Coolspring players were kicking sand.

Cooper turned around with a big smile and proclaimed, "He did it again! That boy is amazing." Then he high-fived Brad and Sandy.

Sandy saw Tilton Garvin near the outfield fence and was going to head that way to introduce Cole since they were near the same age, until he spotted Jeff Garvin talking to Tim Hardin just a few feet beyond Tilton. He decided they could meet later. He had no desire to deal with Tim.

The two younger boys were watching the game with Cooper and Conner and Brad were talking with Tolley and Tanner. Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves, but Sandy had to keep them moving if they wanted to be home in time for dinner.

Sandy spoke to Connor. "I have one more cool place I want to show you, so we gotta move or we'll be late for dinner."

"I'm ready," said Connor. He then said good bye to the Mackey boys and tugged at Cooper's collar to get his attention. Brad and Stevie followed as they headed over to the park. Sandy guided the group along the jogging track and then turned onto a smaller path that lead into the woods.

"I know where we're going," exclaimed Stevie.

"Where?" asked Cole.

"We're going to the swimming hole. You'll like it."

"Cool! Do you swim naked there too?" Cole asked with a giggle.

"Everybody does," answered Stevie.

"Are we gonna swim?" wondered Cole. "It's a hot day."

"I will if you will," said Stevie as he shot a sly glance at his cousin.

When they reached the swimming hole Sandy was amazed that there were no kids there. He guessed it was because the baseball game was still going on. Connor and Cole stared at the clear pool of water and the shady banks. It was a pretty spot.

"Can we go for a swim?" Stevie pleaded. "Just a quick one."

Sandy looked at Connor and asked, "You wanna take a dip?"

As Connor thought about it Brad joined in and said, "Sounds good to me."

Cole looked at his big brother and said," Let's do it Connor."

"Okay, sure," replied Connor.

Brad was already sitting down and taking his shoes off. Stevie started to strip off and Cole, a little nervous but excited, slowly followed him.

Sandy looked at Connor and said, "I guess we're going swimming."

Connor always enjoyed seeing other boys naked and it had been a long time since he'd seen Brad or Sandy's bodies. He was just hoping he didn't get hard.

In a few minutes the five boys were standing naked at the water's edge. All of them were discreetly checking out each other's bodies. Brad and Stevie were both fascinated by Connors pubes. He actually had a big bush but it was so blonde it was almost invisible. Stevie also noted that his penis, while not to fat was pretty long. Cole was staring at Stevie's dick and was happy to see that his cousin was as hairless as he was. He suddenly realized that he might have stared too long because his dick was getting rock hard.

"You guys know it's going to be cold," said Sandy. "This is spring water and it's always cool."

"That might be good. Cole looks like he could use a cold shower," said Brad pointing at his cousin's boner.

"Mine always does that when I get naked. See?" Stevie said, showing his own erection. He didn't want Cole to be embarrassed.

"That's because they're bald eagles and bald eagles always stand proud and tall," Sandy added getting a laugh from everyone. "Let's swim," he said as he waded into the water.

It took only a few moments for them all to get used to the water. What followed was 10 minutes of splashing, diving, dunking and laughing. Stevie watched as Connor put his hands in Cole's armpits and tossed him up in the air. He waded over to Connor requested, "Do that to me." Connor obliged and threw his younger cousin. Next he threw Cole again then Stevie approached for his turn. This time, before Stevie raised his arms he reached for Connors waist and brushed his hand through the older boys pubes. They were just as soft as Stevie had imagined. Connor was startled, but assumed it was accidental and said nothing.

Sandy watched the others playing and enjoyed seeing them all laughing. Cole, who had earlier been in tears was now having fun. Sandy also admired his cousin's body. Even though Connor was a year older he did not have the muscular build Sandy did. He had a more boyish build and, as Kevin had said before, he looked hot.

A distant clap of thunder made it easy for Sandy to declare swim time over and the group quickly dressed and headed for the house. Connor found himself thinking about the naked bodies he had just seen. Sandy was really built. He had muscles everywhere and a nice-looking dick. Brad was also good looking for a kid only 13-years-old. Connor noted he and Brad shared a physical characteristic. They both had a long thin dick. Must be something in the Jacobs genes he thought.

When they got home, Sandy's parents were putting the finishing touches on a meal that the boys considered to be a feast. There was fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and mac and cheese. Once everyone was seated and served Sam asked the visitors about their day.

"It was great," Cole said. "I met a lot of kids and got to see a boy hit a home run at the ballgame."

Connor joined the conversation. "I really liked the park. There's trails everywhere to explore and I learned where the swimming hole is."

"Sounds like you all had a good day then. Do you have any special plans for tonight?" Karla Jacobs asked.

"Not really," said Sandy. "Kevin and Sean are gonna drop by and we might play a game or something."

"I'll have warm brownies and ice cream for a snack later so let me know when you're ready," Sandy's mom added.

After the meal the boys helped clear the table. Sandy, Connor and Brad decided to sit out back and Cole and Stevie went up to Stevie's bedroom.

Out in the yard the boys kicked back in the lawn chairs. "Did you enjoy my little tour of town?" Sandy asked Connor.

"Yes, I did. I think I'm gonna like it here. There's lots to do and all the guys seemed cool. I am a little worried about Cole and this choosing thing though. My brother gets stressed out pretty easy."

"I know," said Sandy. "I watched Brad here suffer the stress last year and it's hard to deal with when you care about your brother. I can't get Cole out of this, but I do have some influence. He might have to give a blow job or two, but I don't think he'll be picked for a bottom. You never know what's going to happen at The Choosing, but I think I can arrange a little protection for him."

"What about me?" Connor asked quietly.

"It's like I told you before. They don't know yet. Whatever they decide, I'll make sure it's fair. I promise."

Sandy could see that Connor did not look at all reassured. As he was thinking of something to add, he saw Sean and Kevin coming around the side of the house. "Let's finish this discussion later," he said to Connor.

"Come on in guys," shouted Brad. "We're just hanging out after a big meal."

"Make yourself comfortable," said Sandy.

"Okay," said Kevin as he sat in Connor's lap, startling the visitor.

"That's not what I meant," Sandy muttered.

"This is real comfortable for me," said Kevin as he wiggled his butt in Connor's lap. Connor was smiling, but looked uncomfortable. If Kevin kept this up, he was afraid he was going to get hard.

Finally, Sandy pleaded, "Come on Kevin. Give the guy a break."

"All right," replied Kevin. "Can't a guy have a little fun around here?" he said as he got off Connor's lap and sat next to him. Sean and Bradley were trying not to laugh at Connor's blushing.

The group spent the next hour talking about everything under the sun. Their plans for the summer. The second homerun that Reeve hit after the Jacobs boys left, and the fact that Chris Corbin made the Olympic team. There was no more mention of The Choosing. Up in Stevie's bedroom however that was the main topic.

"So, do you think you'll be in The Choosing with me this year?" Stevie wanted to know.

"I don't know," answered Cole. "I really don't want to be in it any year, I hate being told I have to do something, especially something so embarrassing. I won't know any of the other kids, except you, and I have to be naked and let kids touch my butt. It really sounds horrible."

"Oh, they'll touch more than your butt," said Stevie. "They tickle your balls and your dick too. It is embarrassing but it's mostly in fun. They try to scare you, but Sandy and the other big guys make sure nothing goes too far. The worst that will happen to you is you might have to give some blow jobs."

"I've never done that with anybody but you and Ethan."

"Well you might be doing it with some new people this year," giggled Stevie.

"I don't think so," said Cole. "It's just too scary for me. There's rules I don't know about and kids I won't know and what if I get picked? I don't want to let kids fuck me. Maybe by next year I'll know enough about it and be a little braver."

Stevie realized he may have pushed too hard. He really wanted his cousin to join him this year.

"Listen," Stevie suggested. "You'll learn all the rules and meet the kids that are on the list this year at the sleepover. You can ask questions and you'll hear what the other guys are thinking. They explain to you what the whole day is going to be like and they tell you what to do and what not to do. Why don't you wait till then to decide."

"What's the sleepover?" asked Cole.

"Every year right before The Choosing, Sandy and the guys have a sleepover here for all the kids on the list. They explain everything about it. I think you should come. I'm sure Sandy will let you."

"I guess I'd like that if it's okay with Sandy," said Cole.

"Don't worry. I'll take care of that part, it'll be okay. One thing I was happy to see was you don't have any hair yet either. If you come with me I won't be the only bald eagle there," said Stevie with a laugh.

"I may not have any hair, but I'm still bigger than you," replied Cole with a sly grin.

"Bull," said Stevie. "We're the same size."

"Prove it," dared Cole.

Realizing that his cousin wanted to play, Stevie was more than happy to oblige. He stood up and dropped his pants to his knees and started to jerk his dick. "If you want to see who's bigger you gotta get yours out too," prompted Stevie. Cole stopped staring at the other boy's penis and pulled his own pants down.

"Let's jerk each other," suggested Stevie. Cole agreed and the fun began.

After a bit of mutual jerking, they decided to give blowjobs. Both boys enjoyed a great orgasm and Stevie was surprised when Cole swallowed his thin spurts of cum. They had barely recovered when they heard Stevie's Mom calling them for dessert.

As they pulled their pants up Steve declared, "When you move here, we can do that all the time and if you go through the Choosing we can use the bottoms together."

"Really?" exclaimed Cole. "You mean we can fuck them?"

"Yep! Once we go through The Choosing we have full privileges. We can fuck different boys all week."

"Let's go have dessert," said Cole. Stevie could tell by his expression that he was thinking about the idea however.

Downstairs the older boys were already at the table. They enjoyed their brownies and ice cream and then decided it was time to hit the sack. Kevin and Sean left for home and the Jacobs cousins went down to the cellar and set up their sleeping bags. Stevie got a moment alone with Sandy and asked about Cole coming to the sleepover.

"Sure," replied Sandy. "I'll go invite him now."

"No don't," said Stevie. "Let me tell him. I think he's had enough talk about it for now. I'll tell him in the morning."

"If you say so," said Sandy. He was impressed with his brother's compassion for his cousin. I guess Stevie's growing up, he thought.

Sunday June 9, 1996 – The Jacobs House

The boys had no sooner finished breakfast when Carlton and Susan arrived. Connor and Cole were sent to the basement to gather their things and Sandy's dad and his Uncle Carlton pulled him into the kitchen. "Did you make any progress explaining things to your cousins?" Sam asked his son.

"Yeah Dad, I think we did. We started off the weekend with Cole in tears and saying he didn't want to move here and now he might come to the sleepover," said Sandy.

"What's the sleepover?" asked Carlton.

"It's an event right before The Choosing for all the boys involved. They are told what to expect and how to behave. They also get to meet one another and share their feelings," answered Sandy. "I think it will really help him."

"Well good," said Carlton. "All I got was tears. You did good Sandy. Thanks."

"Stevie told Cole he'll call him when we have a date for the sleepover. He really wants Cole to be in this year's Choosing along with him. It might be a good idea, but it's Cole's choice." said Sandy.

The boys packed their gear in the car and everyone said good bye. As they pulled away, Sandy asked Brad, "What are you gonna do today?"

"I'm heading over to Cal's," said Brad. "I already missed my Saturday visit."

Sandy laughed and shook his head. He had made some progress helping Cole get over his fears, but what about Connor. He needed time to think.

Jason stared at the list after he posted it on the bulletin board. He actually had it memorized. Just about all of his free time for the last 2 weeks had been spent working on it. He double checked the spelling and he reconfirmed the birthdays and parental support. It was ready. He picked up the extra copies he had made for the Council Members and prepared to leave. Hank had Clubhouse Duty today and shortly after he opened the doors at 9 AM word would get out that The List was posted. Every Mackey 12-year-old would have their worst fears confirmed. Now he could move on to The Choosing itself.

Saturday June 15, 1996 – 9PM

As the night arrived along the ridges and in the hollows of the Mackey territory a lot of 12-year-old boys were having serious heart to heart discussions with their dads about the upcoming Choosing. The List had only been out for one day, but the word spread like wildfire. Everyone knew who was on it.

Reed Mackey's House

Reed had waited to have this discussion with his son Reeve as long as he could. Now that the list was out he couldn't put it off any longer. He gave his son a brief description of the rite and tried to make the boy see the purpose of it all. Since Reeve didn't have a lot of interest in sex, it wasn't going very well.

"I don't understand why I have to be naked and let everyone see my butt," declared Reeve.

"Son, I know you don't care a lot about sex yet but, trust me, you will soon. A lot of boys find butts fun to look at. It kinda, well, gets them excited. They feel good and it makes them happy."

"Can't they just look in a mirror at their own butts?"

"No, it's not the same thing. They are gonna look at you and some of them are going to touch you. You've got to let them. It's part of the ceremony. By the time it's over, you might be feeling some of those excited feelings yourself. It's okay to feel them. It's part of growing up. Even if you don't understand it all, I want you to trust me and remember this. The Choosing is the first step a Mackey boy takes toward becoming a Mackey man. I went through it and I want you to also. Will you do it for me?"

"I'll do it for you. If you think it's important, I'll do it."

"Remember that Cooper will be with you and he'll help you any way he can. I know you'll make me proud."

Reeve hugged his Dad and was reassured by his confidence. Reed had decided not to tell his son that he himself was bottomed at his Choosing.

Henry Finney's House

Henry Finney, known as just Finney to his friends, was a bully. He liked to be in charge and didn't like kids who questioned his superiority. He was good looking with dark hair and brown eyes and he was a natural leader. He was also sneaky and conniving. Since he learned, earlier in the day, that he was on The List, he had been whining and fuming about it. Although there was no reason to expect he wouldn't be on The List, he had worked himself into a foul mood by the time his dad arrived home. His dad hadn't been in the house more than 5 minutes when Finney started complaining.

"Did you hear that they put me on the stupid Choosing List?" the boy asked his dad.

"Well why wouldn't you be on it. You're 12, aren't you?"

"Course I'm 12, but they don't need me on it. There's lots of boys that want to do that stuff. I'm not one of them kind and I'm not going to the stupid Choosing," the boy announced angrily.

"Come here boy," his father beckoned.

Finney slowly approached his dad. As soon as he was standing in front of him the man put his hand around the back of the boy's neck and propelled him to the dining room table where he forcefully bent him over so that his face was pressed against the tabletop. He kept his hand on Henry's neck and asked him, "Do you like being in this position son?"

Finney realized now that he had gone too far and gave the only answer he knew would be acceptable.

"No Sir."

"Then I suggest you remember a few things. In this house we not only respect our Mackey traditions, we honor them. If I hear you call the Choosing stupid, or say you're not going one more time, you are going to find yourself in this position again. Only the next time it will be out in the garage and you'll be bent over my workbench with your britches down around your ankles and my strap dancing on your little bare ass. Am I making myself clear to you boy?"

"Yes sir."

"Well good. I'm only gonna say this once so you listen up. You will be at The Choosing. You will conduct yourself properly and if you are chosen you will serve your term. If I hear of any carrying on or if you embarrass our family in any way you will have a meeting with my strap." He then released his grip on the boy's neck and stepped back. "Now loose the attitude and let me enjoy a peaceful evening.

"Yes sir," Finney answered. He went up to his room and sat on his bed. He realized that he had no way out. He was going to be in The Choosing, like it or not. Then he cried.

The Hardin House

Anyone from Indian Spring could tell you that Sammy Hardin was not a man to take lightly. He always had a gun nearby, if not on him, and he had a quick temper. He trusted very few people and there were stories about men who had crossed him disappearing. He had been making a living selling moonshine all his life and had recently branched out into the marijuana business. He was known as a cold, hard ruthless man, but to Tyler he was just Daddy.

Sammy knew his son would be in The Choosing so he had planned on having a little talk with the boy once The List came out. He arranged to have Tim and Paul working at the family still, so he could be alone with his youngest son. After dinner he gathered his thoughts, rolled himself a cigarette and asked Tyler to step out on the porch with him.

Sammy sat down on the steps and Tyler nervously followed him. Usually getting called out for a private talk meant a dressing down for some misdeed. Sammy recognized the look on the boy's face and decided to set the kid at ease. "Relax son. You ain't in trouble. I heard The List came out today and you're on it."

"Yes sir. I knew I would be."

"Well that's what I wanted to talk about. My daddy, me, and both your brothers went through The Choosing and now your carrying on the family tradition. It kinda makes me feel old," he chuckled.

Tyler patted his father's shoulder and said, "You ain't old Daddy."

"I'm glad you think so son. I am old enough to know that you'll be becoming a man soon and I think you'll be a fine man. I want you to know that I'm proud of you taking your place on the line. It's an important part of being a Mackey."

"I know Daddy. I promise I'll make you proud no matter what happens."

"I can't tell your brothers how to vote, but I will remind them what it means to watch out for one another. I'm gonna ask Paul to keep an eye on you and make sure your treated fair. He's got a lot of influence on The Council you know."

"Yes sir, I do."

"Okay then," said Sammy as he rose from the steps. "You're a good boy Tyler. Now come here and give your old man a hug."

Tyler stood up and gave his dad a tight hug. He knew he was sharing a very special moment with his father and he relished every second.

To be continued...
