This story is about sex between boys and is therefore a total fantasy. It was written by an adult for the entertainment of other adults. No children or animals were either involved or harmed in the writing of this story. Please leave now if you are not supposed to be here.

Writing the continuing saga of the Kids of Indian Spring has become a real community effort. My original intention was to conclude the Sandy Jacobs Story after Chapter 10. But my primary co-author and invaluable assistant, Pietar, convinced me that the many loose ends left open by the original author, Jonas Henley, needed to be resolved. As a result, he became the principal author of Chapters 11, 12, and 13. Thank you Pietar for your original ideas, brilliant writing and your continued dedication and commitment to this project. Now a third author, Nick, has volunteered to take on the role of crafting the future long-term direction of the story. You may recall that Nick was first involved in Chapter 12C. Please ensure you make Nick welcome by dropping him a line.

Monday January 6th, 1997 – Suzanne Mackey's House

Jill Hagen, Scooter's mom, pulled her shiny black Mustang into the driveway and parked. She and Suzanne were having lunch together so Jill could fill her in on the Choosing. Suzanne had mentioned her visitor from the Council when they were at the Tuckers New Year event. She started asking questions but Jill told her it wasn't a good time or place for two women to be discussing the subject. There were too many people around so they made plans to meet and have lunch as soon as the kids returned to school.

Suzanne saw the car pull in and greeted her guest at the door. The two were as different as night and day but they liked each other since the first time they met. Jill was an Indian Spring native who had never ventured out of the state of Ohio. She had drunk moonshine since she was 15 and avidly followed college football. She never went to college but she could rebuild an engine or weld an exhaust system as good as any man around. On the other hand, Suzanne was an international traveler who enjoyed fine wine and gourmet dining. She had an MBA and was highly respected in the fashion industry. Despite their differences they had one thing in common. They were both totally devoted to their sons.

The first time they met was when their boys had been suspended from school for fighting. Jill came out to the house to meet the mother of the boy who had stood up for her son. She felt extremely uncomfortable that first visit. Suzanne's world was so different from hers, but the more they talked the more they liked each other. Today Jill was just visiting her best friend.

Lunch was a simple soup and sandwich fare. When they finished their meal they moved to the comfort of the living room. Suzanne brought a bottle of wine and 2 glasses which she poured before sitting down. "Now," she said as she raised her glass, "tell me about the boys becoming members of the Mackey brotherhood."

"What you've were told by your visitor from the Council is pretty much all true. If you plan on raising your boy here he really should become a member. If he doesn't, he'll always be an outsider. Did Vincent tell you the real purpose of the Choosing?"

"I don't think he ever used those words, but he made it sound like a sort of an initiation. He said they might get their butts whacked and they apparently have to strip."

"He didn't say anything about voting or bottoms?" Jill asked.

"No, he never used those words either. Come on Jill, I want to know what this is all about and you know, so please tell me."

"Okay, but you'd better fill your glass again. You might need it." Jill then told her friend the history and purpose of the Choosing. She was honest and blunt. She covered checkmarks and Mackey rules. She even told her about the public fucking. When she was done she looked at Suzanne and asked, "Any questions?"

"Holy Shit!" Suzanne muttered. "I can't put my son through something like that. It could scar him for life," she said fearfully.

Jill burst out laughing. "I don't mean to be rude but I never heard you swear before. Look don't freak out on me girl. You've met the Tucker kids and the Jacobs boys. Well they've either been through it or are going to be. How about Jonathan Brewer. You know his boys? They're real nice kids and their part of it. Do any of them look scarred to you?"

Suzanne thought for a minute and had to agree that they all seemed like pretty normal boys to her.

"I know this sounds really strange to you but you gotta relax and accept it. Everybody around here grew up with it so it's no big deal. It's new to you but you have to try and adjust to the local customs if you want to stay here and be part of the community. It's just the way it is here."

"You mean to tell me that right now, there are boys in this town that will bend over for anybody that asks and let them use their butt?"

"Well not for anybody. It has to be a Mackey who has gone through a Choosing. There are rules on the age limits too."

"This is just so crazy to me. When he said it involves a little sex play I pictured a bunch of 12-year-olds having a circle jerk. I never imagined anything like this. How will I explain this to Rory?"

"I don't think you'll have to. In another 2 or 3 months the older boys are gonna start teasing the 12-year-olds and Rory is gonna hear. His friends will probably tell him about it better than you can. He might come to you with questions and you just gotta be honest. If he asks things you can't answer you just call me. I'll help you anytime. You can also talk to Karla Jacobs or Silvie Tucker. They've already had boys go through it and I'm sure they'd be happy to help."

"You want another glass?" asked Suzanne holding up the empty wine bottle.

"Sure, then I gotta go. The kids will be getting out of school soon."

Suzanne grabbed another bottle of wine and poured two more glasses. There was really nothing wrong but she felt on the verge of panic. Her brain was having trouble processing everything she had just learned. She had to get a grip. She glanced over at Jill who was sipping her wine and gave her a half-hearted smile.

"Listen Suzanne, if I moved to California I'd think the way folks live out there was pretty crazy, but I'd get used to it," Jill said. "That's the way you gotta look at this. You'll get used to it." Then they both laughed.

Suzanne walked Jill to her car and watched as her friend drove away. She was cold and a little bit drunk. She looked up at the sky and said, "Nolan Mackey, your family has some really strange customs. I wonder if being part of this brotherhood helped make you the man you were? If it did, maybe Rory should follow in your footsteps." She stared at the clouds for a moment and then headed back to the warmth of the house.

Friday January 24th – The Clubhouse

This month's meeting had been almost boring. Jason would have canceled it but their charter called for a monthly meeting. They quickly ran through the routine items like the Treasurers report and a follow up on old business. The only new item on the agenda was the list of eligible voters for the upcoming election and the Choosing. Paul Hardin was assigned the task of reviewing and updating it as necessary. Even though the election was months away Jason wanted to have everything ready. When the meeting was adjourned most of the boys left. Hayden hung around and straightened up the room as Jason put his notes in order and took them to his office. Sandy waited until he returned.

"Were you waiting on me Mr. Jacobs?" asked Jason when he returned.

"Yes. I wanted to tell you that I've been thinking about what we talked about at the Tuckers and I made up my mind. I'm gonna run for President."

The news made Jason smile. "I'm very happy to hear that. I know it's a big decision but I think you'd make an excellent one."

"To be honest, I'm kind of scared, but I want to give it a try."

From the back of the room another voice joined the conversation. "Did I hear that right?" Hayden asked. "You gonna run for President Sandy?"

"Yes. I may be crazy but I'm gonna run."

"That's not crazy at all. I think you'd make a great President. If you win we can keep this Council moving in the right direction."

"Does that mean you'll support me Hayden?"

"You bet I will. I'll work for you back in my part of the woods. You'd better get working soon though. Joshua is already talking to kids back in the deep sections. I heard he's gonna be at Tim Hardin's bonfire tomorrow night."

"You mean 16-year-old Joshua, Tony Mackey's kid? Jeremy's younger brother?" asked a concerned Sandy.

"Yep, him. You don't see him much in town, but he's popular with a lot of the deep families," Hayden responded.

"But the campaign doesn't begin until March 15th," Sandy complained.

"That's the official date," said Jason. "But there is no rule that says you can't talk to folks ahead of time."

"I guess I better start getting organized then. I had a great team when I ran for Council last year and I think the same boys will help me again. Do you know if anyone else is running?"

Not that I've heard of, but candidates have until March 1st to register. I think it's going to be between you and Joshua. It will be a tough fight too, so don't hesitate to use all the resources you've got.

"What do you mean?" asked Sandy.

"Remember the bottoms are a great communications network," said Jason. "From what I've seen you have a lot of friends there so don't hesitate to use them."

"I think I know what you stand for already, but if you have any special points or ideas you want me to talk about just let me know," said Hayden.

"I'll do that buddy. I really appreciate the help," replied Sandy.

"I think you made a smart choice," said Jason. "It's gonna be a tough campaign though."

"I know it, but I think I'm ready. It's important to me. I want a chance to do more for the kids here."

"I believe you can do it too," said Jason. "Now let's go home."

Saturday February 22nd – Suzanne Mackey's House

A winter storm had blanketed Indian Spring with over a foot of snow. School was closed on Friday. The temperature never got above 20 and the wind was strong so most of the kids stayed indoors. Their boredom made them creative and they organized a sledding party for Saturday when the weatherman said it would be nicer. Rory Mackey's place was selected as the location for the get together because of the great hill in his front yard. A bonfire was suggested but Rory's mom said no to a fire unless there was an adult to supervise it. Stevie Tucker talked to his dad who volunteered for fire duty and Ben Brewer got his dad to agree also. The Brewer's had a 55-gallon barrel that had been cut in half that would be perfect for a fireplace as the ground was too hard to dig a pit. Scooter Hagen told his dad about the party and he offered to ferry kids and sleds up to Rory's with his 4-wheel drive truck. Once the groundwork was done kids spent the rest of the day calling friends to make sure they knew about the event.

Suzanne had been up early and assembled what she felt would add to the fun. She dug out her 3-gallon Thermos jug for hot chocolate. She baked 3 dozen cookies from frozen cookie dough she had purchased from a school fundraiser and she laid out extra mats by the front door anticipating the traffic from cold, wet boys coming in to use the bathroom. She also dug out a couple of Rory's extra ski jackets as she had seen some local boys outside with coats that she felt were inadequate for winter.

Jonathan Brewer arrived before noon with Cal and Ben and the fire barrel. He also brought firewood. As the boys picked the spot for the barrel, Mr. Brewer unloaded the wood.

Mike Hagen's big dual cab pick-up pulled in carrying Scooter, Chase and Stevie Jacobs, Ethan Tucker and Henry Mackey. The party was in full swing and Rory loved having so much company.

By mid-afternoon there were over 30 kids sledding on the hill and having fun. Suzanne was making more cookies and was grateful Jill Hagen had arrived to help. Hal Tucker and Jonathan Brewer were tending the fire and alternating short breaks to step inside and have a few sips of some warm rum concoction Suzanne had made. The ladies made periodic trips outside to replenish the refreshments and watch the kids playing. Suzanne would look over the youngsters and order any kid who looked cold to her to go inside and warm up a few minutes. As she was looking over the boys Jill gave a tug on her jacket sleeve and said, "I know what you're doing."

"What do you mean?" asked Suzanne.

"You're looking over these boys trying to figure out who the bottoms are."

"I'm not. Well maybe I was a little. I just still wonder about how these kids handle it."

"Well, none of them look twisted or scarred to me. I bet you couldn't pick any out either."

"No, I couldn't. They all just look like kids playing."

"That's because that's what they are," said Jill. "You know boys this age would be doing this stuff anyway. Face it, they get real horny as they hit puberty. Here it's organized and there are rules to protect the kids while they play. What you end up with is this. Kids having fun."

Suzanne smiled. "I guess I'm starting to accept it. It just seems a little crazy to me."

"Speaking of a little crazy, why don't we go in and have a glass of wine."

"Sounds good to me. I'm cold anyway," replied Suzanne as they headed to the house.

Friday March 21st – The Clubhouse

The meeting wouldn't start for 2 more hours, but that was fine with Sandy because he needed some time alone to think. Carter Mackey had come to him and asked for help with a problem. It seems his cousin Michael was getting a little out of hand with teasing and now was indulging in what Sandy considered harassment. He had always used Carter as a bottom and poked fun at him. They had been inseparable before the Choosing and Carter was the leader. After Carter was bottomed there was a sort of role reversal and it appeared to Sandy that being on top was going to Michael's head.

Michael's antics had gone from name calling and comments on Carter's sexuality to intentional humiliation. Last week he brought two 11-year-olds to watch as he fucked his cousin. Carter put up with it but made up his mind he would get Sandy involved.

Sandy had never banned anyone yet but he was thinking about it. He didn't want to go to Jason for advice. If he wanted to project himself as strong enough to be the Council President he should deal with this on his own. He knew Carter was no angel and had pulled some dirty tricks of his own, but he believed the kid was changed and deserved some help here. He wasn't sure of Michael's reasons for treating a bottom this way but he assumed it was payback for some past behavior. His first step would be a chat with Michael.

An hour passed very quickly as he thought about his problem. His thoughts were interrupted when Jason arrived.

"Greetings my friend. You're here early."

"It's quieter here than at my house. With 3 brothers and their friends running around I need to escape to find a little peace sometimes. What's on the agenda for tonight?" asked Sandy.

"I'd like to start a preliminary review of this year's Choosing list. I know it's early but I want to see if we have anyone on there who's going to need a closer look. I don't want any delays later."

"Cool. It's nice to be ahead a little bit."

"Do you have your campaign team up and running?" Jason asked.

"I do. Kevin's my main man in town and Hayden's covering the deeper territory. I told the guys at the bottom's meeting last week and all the old-timers offered to help. I was surprised that some of the new guys also jumped in. Trevor Havers and Henry Mackey were almost excited to have a project to work on. Even Finney and Carter volunteered."

"I'm surprised that Carter offered to help," said Jason. "Considering that it wasn't too long ago when you had to beat his ass."

"Carter has changed since then. The guys were all pissed off at him and he didn't like being left out. He knew he fucked up and he has really tried to change since then. He's even attempted to patch things up with Carl, but I don't think that's worked out yet."

"I'm glad to hear that. Carter is a bright boy and he'll work it out. How about Gordon? Is he on board?"

"Gordon didn't offer to help."

"Attitude problem?" Jason asked.

"No, I don't think so. Gordon is cool and he carries his weight. There are some things going on right now that I'm aware of and working on, but the problem is not Gordon."

"Do you need my help?" asked Jason.

"No, I've got it covered," answered Sandy. He really didn't want to ask the Council President to help him deal with his own little brother.

As they talked, other members of the Council started drifting in. Sandy didn't want to discuss his campaign in front of the whole group, so he changed the subject and Jason took the hint. Joe, Ernie, Bert and Paul filed in and took their seats. Paul sat next to Sandy and greeted him with a nod and a smile.

"So you're running for President," Paul stated.

"Yes. I decided to give it a shot," replied Sandy. He got a little nervous whenever Paul Hardin was being nice to him. Past experiences with the guy told him to keep his guard up.

"Joshua Mackey is gonna be hard to beat. He's got a lot of friends. You think you have a chance to win?"

"I'll never know if I don't try," said Sandy.

"That's just like you Jacobs. You don't shy away from a fight."

"The worst that could happen is I lose, and if I do, I'll still be here as the Special Rep."

Paul stared at him for a moment and then said, "I gotta admit, you got spunk. Sometimes I think I could almost get to like you."

Just then Jason interrupted the small talk and asked everyone to take a seat.

"Okay guys, let's get our business done then we can be on Spring Break like everybody else. The first item I have is the voter registration list. Paul, how is that coming?"

"I've cleared off all the boys who turned 18 and added the kids from last year's Choosing now all I have to do is type it up. We've grown a bit. We have almost 20 new voters."

"Excellent. When can I have a copy of the new list?"

"Give me 2 weeks. I'm not the best typist."

"I'll type it up if you want," volunteered Sandy.

"I appreciate the offer but no declared candidate for office is going to touch the list until I make it official," said Jason.

"Sorry," said Sandy. "I didn't think of that."

"Next order of business is this year's Choosing List. I want to start on it now and release it on June 1. We have several candidates that I want checked out so let's start on that and assign some of you guys to do a little investigating." Before Jason could continue someone came in the door and slammed it behind them. It was an adult. As he approached the meeting and came into the light everyone was surprised to see it was Sammy Hardin, Paul's father. His presence made everyone at the table nervous including his son.

Sammy Hardin was a very intimidating man. He was about 6 ft. tall, lean and muscular. His face was drawn and weathered and he rarely smiled. He was one of the established and successful moonshiners in the area but you'd better not mention his business if you know what's good for you. It was rumored that he carried a gun and even the deepest Mackeys treated Sammy with respect. Jason had no idea why he was here but he knew it couldn't be good news.

"Evening boys," Mr. Mackey began. "I know I wasn't invited but I heard from Paul that you were gonna be starting on the Choosing List for this year and I got a few things to say about that." Jason had talked to Paul about the agenda the day before and informed him of what he planned to discuss.

"This isn't a closed meeting so go ahead sir," said Jason very respectfully. It was extremely unusual for an adult to get involved in this process except for directives from the Sr. Council. Still, Jason wasn't going to challenge Sammy Mackey.

"I want to talk about the Hagen kid. You know who I mean?"

Sandy's thoughts were racing. This man was going to tell them they'd better not put the boy on the list because he didn't want them to be part of the Brotherhood. How many of his fellow Council members would side with him? How was this going to affect Jason's desire to make a fair decision on the new comers? As he thought the man continued.

"I know you all heard the stories about his daddy. I don't know the boy real well, but I did know his daddy so I'll talk about him. The first time I met Mike Hagen he was no more than 12 or 13 years old. I drove an old '46 Ford pick-up then. It had a flathead V-8 engine and it could move when it wanted. Trouble was, it wasn't real reliable. You all know what I do for a living and you can understand if you're in my business you don't want to be broke down on the side of the road. That was the situation I was in when we first met. Luckily, I was still in our woods, but I was dead on the side of the road with a full load of whiskey in the truck. I was pissed off and hot and I heard a noise coming up the road. I was hoping it wasn't the law, and thanked the lord when I saw it wasn't. It was a skinny little kid on a motorbike. He stopped and asked if I needed help. I wasn't in the mood to deal with a kid so I told him that unless he could get this truck running he'd better hightail it outta there before I put my boot up his ass. He surprised me. Instead of leaving he set his bike down and climbed up on the bumper and started fiddling with the engine. I was surprised that he didn't run so let him go a couple of minutes. Just about when I was gonna tell him to leave he told me to try starting it. Damned if it didn't start right up. He told me what was wrong and that I would have to fix it or it would happen again. He offered to do the work if I'd buy the parts and I took him up on it. A week later my truck was fixed and it didn't leave me sitting anymore. When I asked how much I owed him he said, "nothing." He just loved working on machines. You should have seen his face when I insisted he take 5 dollars. You would have thought he won the lottery."

"Anyway, over time, I got to know the kid. I liked him because he didn't talk too much. He never asked questions either. He wasn't a Mackey but he played with all our boys. His souped up little motor scooter was the envy of every kid in town. Every now and then I'd see one of our bottoms riding it around back on the lumber roads where I worked and I knew how that boy paid for the ride. Mike never really had privileges, but I think everybody turned their heads at times. That's how tight he was with the Mackeys. The older boys were always using him to work on their cars. He knew how to get more horsepower out of any engine. He got the nickname "Hot Rod." Nobody called him Mike after a while. It was Hot Rod Hagen."

As Sammy Mackey told his story Sandy noticed the look around the table had changed from fear to interest. Even Paul looked a little more relaxed. Sandy himself was puzzled. Where was this leading to?

"When Hot Rod turned 15 he started dating Jill Mackey and as far as I know neither one of them ever looked at anybody else. They were one of those couples that were just meant to be. When he turned 16 I started using him as a driver. He was real trustworthy. He was never late and I never had any complaints about loads being short. I know he was driving for a couple of other guys too, but we never talked about that. In our trade you mind your own business and Hot Rod did that. Everything was going great for the kid until he turned 18 and had that accident. That's where all the stories you've heard come from." Sammy Mackey paused and looked around the table. This was the most important part of his visit and he wanted to be sure he had everyone's attention.

"I'm here to tell you that all those stories are Bull Shit! I know that for a fact because I started at least half of them."

Sandy and Jason were both stunned at this announcement. This was not what they expected at all. They exchanged confused looks.

"The night of the accident it was raining," Sammy continued. "The girl in the car was just a friend he was taking for a ride. They weren't secret lovers like some folks say. Hot Rod did something that that every one of you in this room has either done or will do sometime. He was showing off and he drove too fast. Unfortunately a girl died because of it and that made it a crime. At first everybody around here just thought about it as a tragedy. Then after he got sent to prison some guys in suits showed up around town asking questions about Hot Rod. They wanted to know what kind of boy he was. Was he honest? Was he trustworthy? All that kind of stuff. Well, that made a lot of moonshiners nervous because Hot Rod knew a lot about us. He knew where stills were. He knew where stuff was stored. He knew our routes, customers and the vehicles we used. Everybody was real nervous thinking that maybe he was gonna trade information for a reduced sentence. The final straw was when one of the guys lost a shipment. The load left here and never made it to its destination. Then about a week later the State Police came around asking questions about the vehicle. It was registered to a non-existent Mackey so they didn't find anything out, but it sort of told us that what we feared was true. Hot Rod must have talked and they grabbed one shipment to test his information. That's when I started the first rumors about the kid."

"You can't afford to lose a shipment, so everybody stopped running for a bit. Some guys moved their stills which is a shit load of work. With deliveries on hold money was getting tight and everybody was pissed off. One night in the bar I said that even though the boy passed the alcohol test I thought he was taking pills that they didn't test for. I was amazed when a couple of days later I heard that story at another place only it wasn't a story it was fact. In a small town like this a rumor spreads fast and you'd be surprised how many people believe it. Suddenly Hot Rod was becoming a bad guy. We were hoping that if the State boys heard some of these rumors they'd pay less attention to what the kid told them. The stories were spreading like wildfire. Some of them were downright crazy but people believed them. I heard that the girl was pregnant and he crashed on purpose to kill the baby. Some even said he had joined some devil worshiping cult up north of here and he was taking the girl there to be sacrificed. It was nuts. We figured it worked though because no more shipments got lost and no more guys in suits came around asking questions. But, a few months later I learned the truth about some things. The guys in suits were from a lawyer Hot Rod's parents had hired. They were looking to see if they could get his sentence reduced. The load of shine that disappeared was abandoned by the driver after he had a little too much to drink and drove off the road into a ditch. He didn't come back here 'cause he knew his boss would shoot him. Last I heard he moved in with kin over Akron way. We had started all them stories for nothing. The worst part was it didn't stop. About a year after the boy got sent away his parents left town. All their friends had stopped talking to them and they got dirty looks just driving down the street. They couldn't sell their house back then so they had to start all over again. They were nice folks too."

Jason was fascinated and amazed at what he was hearing. He never would have figured out the truth if he had 20 years to do it. Sandy was also caught up in the story and found himself thinking about the power of lies and the harm they could do. Paul Hardin had shaken off the feeling of dread he felt when his dad walked in and was now kind of proud of his old man for clearing the air. Ernie and Bert were feeling conflicted. They thrived on enemies and anger and Mr. Mackey was taking some of that away from them.

"I've made my peace with Hot Rod. I said I was sorry for what happened and that's something I don't often do. I asked him why he came back here. He told me he loved growing up here and he wanted his boy to have the same experience. Now that you boys know the truth I hope you make the right decision. That kid is a Mackey and there ain't no good reason to deny him the right to join the Brotherhood." Sammy paused here and made eye contact with everyone at the table, one at a time.

"One last thing before I go, what I told you tonight was meant for your ears, not the whole town. I gave you the truth so you could make a smart decision. There are some old-timers around here that would rather forget the past and I don't need them hearing that Sam Mackey brought it up. If I hear that my name is being thrown around I'll have to come and have a talk with whoever is doing it. You understand?" The entire group nodded in unison. Sammy Mackey then turned and left.

Jason looked at Paul and asked, "Did you know he was coming?"

"No, I had no idea. I did mention that we might start on the List but he didn't say anything then. My dad's like that though. He can be cool and calm one minute and then unload on you like a shotgun blast."

"He didn't do anything wrong. Usually we have advance notice if somebody wants to address the Council, but it's okay to express your opinions to us," said Jason.

"I thought we were in trouble for something when he first came in. He looked mad," said Joe.

"Oh he always looks that way," replied Ernie drawing a dirty look from Paul.

"Well what he told us is kind of important. He gave me a lot to think about," said Joe.

"I think he gave us all something to think about, so I'm going to change my plans here," said Jason. "I think we should all take a break and consider this new information. We can go over the candidates next month. Let's adjourn this meeting and enjoy our week off." Everyone at the table nodded their approval and the meeting was adjourned.

As Sandy walked home he was thinking about what he was going to do with a whole week with no school. He could kill 2 birds with one stone if he visited the bottoms and hung around with each one a bit. If they had boys coming by he could do a little campaigning. He hadn't been out Finney and Gordon's way in a while that would be a good place to start. It would give him a chance to talk with Gordon also and find out if anything was wrong. He liked the idea. He'd make this week productive.

Tuesday March 25th – The field

Scooter Hagen and Rory Mackey had just gotten back to the field. They had lunch at Scooter's place so Rory wouldn't have to run home. It was preplanned by their moms. They were just hanging out waiting on Chase and Ethan to return from their lunch break. Scooter had parked his 4-wheeler and they were sitting on the ground when 3 kids came out of the woods. As they crossed the field and approached them Scooter recognized Oak Mackey and his older brother Bryce. He didn't really know the other boy although he had seen him around.

Oak waved but the older boys didn't. Oak liked being invited to hang out with his brother even though Bryce could be a real bully sometimes and had on several occasions forced Oak to give blowjobs to him and his friends. Still, it was cool to be seen with them. Right now they were heading to Oak's house. Bryce had invited 14-year-old Jeff Garvin to come over and smoke a joint.

As soon as they were close enough Bryce said, "Look what we have here, the new girls in town working on their sun tans."

Oak liked Rory and had played with Scooter a couple of times although he had to keep it a secret. He didn't like his brother picking on them so he tried to lighten things up. "Hi guys, I see you got the 4-wheeler out. Are you going riding in the woods?" he asked trying to change the subject.

"No, we're just messing around here," answered Scooter.

"You know, they look like the type who would wanna go back in the woods to be alone," said Jeff deciding to join in the teasing. "Maybe they just came back and that's why they're resting now."

"Yeah, I think you might be right," said Bryce with a laugh. "I gotta ask em. Are you guys just friends or are you lovers like everybody says?"

Scooter's dad had always taught him to stand up to bullies so he did. "That's funny," said Scooter. "We were just gonna ask you two the same thing."

Bryce instantly got pissed off and stepped up to where Scooter was sitting. "Don't get smart kid or you'll be sorry."

"I'm not being smart, I was just curious," replied Scooter. He didn't like Bryce towering over him so he started to get up but Bryce put his foot on top of Scooter's hand and pressed down causing the boy to cry out. "Ow! Get off my hand."

"I'll get off your hand when I feel like it."

As Scooter winced in pain Rory started to get up but Jeff Garvin pushed him down and held him on the ground. Oak couldn't believe this was happening and there was nothing he could do about it. Bryce would kill him if he interfered. All he could do was plead, "Come on guys leave them alone."

As Jeff Garvin pressed Rory to the ground, the 11-year-old was getting furious. It reminded him of how Carl had held him down at the gym in L.A. He saw Carl's bloody face flash before him and he felt the rage rising up inside.

"You know kids your age should be showing more respect for us older guys," continued Bryce. "You don't want to make us mad at you with summer coming now do you?" As he spoke he ground his foot against Scooter's hand.

As Rory watched his friend's face contort with pain he mustered all his strength and pushed up and to one side and threw the older boy off his back. Jeff was surprised as he fell over. He was sure he had the kid pinned. The rage was overtaking Rory who jumped to his feet and drew back his fist. Just as he was going to punch Jeff in the face, a voice called from across the field. "What's going on guys?" called Stevie Jacobs.

Both Bryce and Jeff looked up and saw a group of boys approaching. Along with Stevie was Ethan Tucker, Chase Jacobs, Tyler Hardin and Ashton Tucker. Bryce immediately moved his foot off of Scooter's hand. Both Jeff and Bryce knew that it wouldn't be smart to do anything that might get the boys older brothers involved. No one wanted Paul Hardin, Kelly Tucker or Sandy Jacobs as enemies.

Rory didn't throw his punch when the older boys stopped, but he still had the rage growing inside him. He had to run or he might lose control in front of his friends. He turned to Scooter and said, "I gotta go." Then he turned and ran toward the park avoiding the group of boys coming toward them.

"We gotta get going too," Bryce said to Jeff and Oak.

"You go ahead. I'll catch up," said Oak.

"You gonna hang out with these pussies?" asked Bryce rather surprised.

"Just for a little while," answered Oak.

"Do what you want," muttered Bryce as he and Jeff left.

"What's going on?" asked Stevie sensing the tension in the air.

"Why did Rory run off?" asked Chase.

"Oh, my brother was just being a butt," answered Oak.

"You okay Scooter?" asked Stevie.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I think Bryce was just showing off in front of his friend," he said as he rubbed the hand the older boy had stepped on.

"I'm sorry guys. I didn't know they were gonna act like that," said Oak.

"It's not your fault. Don't worry about it," said Chase. "I wish I knew why Rory took off. Did they hurt him?"

"No!" said Oak quickly. "He just looked really mad."

"Well, if everybody's ready let's have another race," Tyler suggested as he picked his bike up off the ground. He thought it was a good time to change the subject.

"I'm ready," said Ashton, who had his new bike and was ready to ride.

Stevie moved next to Chase and said, "You can call Rory later and make sure everything's okay."

"Yeah, I will," replied Chase.

"I ain't got my bike so I'll be the starter," said Oak who wanted to join the group for a little fun.

As the races got underway Rory was almost home running full speed and breathing rapidly. When the house came into view he slowed a bit. The rage was leaving him. He had beat it. He considered going back but decided he'd better not. What if the feeling returned? He was going to go home and rest. He wouldn't tell his mom about this episode. She'd make a big deal about it and he just wanted to forget it. After all, he had beat it even if he had to run away. He stayed in control.

Bryce Mackey's house

Jeff took the joint that Bryce handed him and lit it up. He took a deep puff and handed it back to his friend. "You think we'll get in trouble for messing with them?" he asked

"Naahh," replied Bryce as he exhaled a puff of smoke. "We were just playin."

"I know, but I don't want them to go crying to their brothers that we were picking on them."

"I don't think they will. Those two are both gay, you know," said Bryce.

"Really?" said Jeff.

"Yeah, the rich kid invites boys up to his house to play with his fancy toys and then gives em money to fuck him and let him suck their dicks."

"No shit!" replied Jeff.

"Yeah. I heard he squeals like a little girl when you fuck him."

"Damn. maybe I should have been nicer to him. I bet that little ass of his is tight," mused Jeff who was getting high and horny and believing what his friend said.

"The Hagen kid just moans and asks you to fuck him harder. They'll probably both get bottomed at this years Choosing so you'll be able to see for yourself. It'll be a great public fucking."

"Well shit," said Jeff. "Why didn't you say something before? We might have had a good fuck."

"I hear they only like 13-year old dicks. They probably wouldn't have let us," answered Bryce who was making things up as he went. He didn't want Jeff to talk to the boys and find out he was bull shitting him.

"Shoot. Now you got me horny and I ain't 13 so how about if we go visit Cal Brewer?"

"Sounds good to me," replied Bryce. "Let's go."

The two boys headed over to Cal's place as Jeff tried to imagine what it would be like to have a kid squeal like a little girl while you fucked him.
