This story is about sex between boys and is therefore a total fantasy. It was written by an adult for the entertainment of other adults. No children or animals were either involved or harmed in the writing of this story. Please leave now if you are not supposed to be here.

Writing the continuing saga of the Kids of Indian Spring has become a real community effort. My original intention was to conclude the Sandy Jacobs Story after Chapter 10. But my primary co-author and invaluable assistant, Pietar, convinced me that the many loose ends left open by the original author, Jonas Henley, needed to be resolved. As a result, he became the principal author of Chapters 11, 12, and 13. Thank you Pietar for your original ideas, brilliant writing and your continued dedication and commitment to this project. Now a third author, Nick, has volunteered to take on the role of crafting the future long-term direction of the story. You may recall that Nick was first involved in Chapter 12C. Please ensure you make Nick welcome by dropping him a line.

Saturday June 28th – Henry Mackey's House

Carl was on his way home from a morning of fishing. As was his habit, he stopped by to see Henry and the two of them were sitting on the front porch watching the kids coming and going from the park. Henry always got horny when Carl was around and he was hoping to lure his friend to his bedroom for some fun.

"So do you have to get home for anything special?" Henry asked.

"No. I'm just hot and sweaty and hungry."

"I bet I could take your mind off being hungry."

When Carl realized what his friend meant he looked over at him and was greeted by a sly grin. "You're something else Henry. Do you talk to everybody like this?"

"Nope, just you."

Their conversation was interrupted by Rory Mackey. "Hey guys, how's it going?" asked the boy as he ran up to the porch. He flipped a switch on the recorder he had on his waist and pulled his headphones off.

"Don't you ever get tired of running?" Henry asked jokingly.

"No, I like to stay in shape. It's kind of a personal challenge thing. I do push-ups and sit-ups too."

Carl was busy studying the 12-year-olds body when Henry asked him, "Why don't you work out like that?"

"I'm too busy fishing," replied Carl. He liked the silky running shorts Rory was wearing. They were red just like his hair. The material was so thin you could almost see through it, but they were the kind with a liner that hid the best parts. The liner was small and smooth and to Carl it made it look like he was wearing girls panties. He'd only caught glimpses of panties a few times but that's what they looked like. He was wondering if the kid had red pubes or if he even had pubes when Henry kicked him.

"What are you thinking about? You look like your mind is far away."

"Oh, nothing. I was just wondering what I was gonna do this weekend."

"Well stop thinking and talk to me and Rory," his friend scolded.

"I'm gonna be swimming and hanging out with Chase and Ethan," the red-haired runner said.

"Are you going to the sleepover at the Jacobs place next weekend?" Henry wanted to know.

"Oh yeah. I'm kind of looking forward to it. Chase said I'd learn all about the Choosing there."

"Yes, you will. We'll tell you everything you need to know and probably some stuff you don't want to know."

"Are you gonna be there Henry?" asked Rory.

"Yes. I'll be helping out."

"Cool! Well guys it was good to see you, but I gotta finish my run. I'll see you both later."

"Go get 'em tiger," called Henry as Rory took off. "He's a really nice kid. I hope he does okay at the Choosing."

"Yeah he is nice," Carl agreed. He was really looking forward to seeing Rory bent over at the Choosing and the thought made him hard. "You still want to mess around before I go home?"

"I'm always ready to mess around with you. Let's go to the bedroom."

A short distance away Rory was listening to the conversation he had recorded. He liked Henry's voice. If he could get through the Choosing he'd have privileges and he could visit Henry for more than just talk. It was exciting to think about.

Tuesday July 1st – Merrick Mackey's House

Twelve-year-old Merrick and his 16-year-old brother Brandon were sitting on the old picnic table beside the garage. Brando was trying to help his little brother deal with the Choosing stress.

"You might as well accept it Merrick. There is no way you're gonna get out of it. It happens every year and this year it's your turn."

"Yeah, well I think it sucks. I don't see why I should have to get naked and let a lot of pervy guys feel me up and look at my ass."

"Now you're really talking bullshit. You were there last year and I saw you checking out asses. You even told your brother that you hoped you'd get to fuck him. So who is pervy now? You were talking big then but now that you're on the line it's a different story, huh!"

Merrick hesitated a moment and then looked at his brother with teary eyes. "I guess you're right. I'm just not sure if I can take it and I sure as hell don't want to be a bottom."

"Nobody does. But you gotta take your chances with the rest of the kids. It's part of being a Mackey. Alex felt just like you do last year and he made it through. If your brother can do it, you can too."

"I hope so. I still think the whole thing sucks and it's a stupid tradition."

"It's an important part of our community and maybe after you get through it you'll understand better."

"Right now all I understand is that I hate this stupid tradition."

Mr. Trey Mackey the boy's father, had been standing around the corner of the garage listening to his son's conversation and decided it was time to say his piece. He stepped around the corner and announced, "Hi guys. Your Momma is putting dinner on the table. Time to come in."

"Okay Daddy," replied Brandon as he got up from the table and headed to the house. He knew better than to keep his father waiting. Merrick started to follow, but his dad put his hand on his shoulder and stopped him.

"Hold on a minute son. I overheard some of your talk here and I don't ever want to hear anything like that coming out of your mouth ever again. If I do I'll be taking my belt off and you will be one very sorry 12-year-old. Do you understand me?"

Merrick knew better than to argue. "Yes sir," he replied.

"This Friday is the 4th of July and your uncles and your cousins are all coming over here for a cookout. I'd better not hear you telling anybody that you think our tradition sucks or I'll skin you alive. All the men in our family have gone through a Choosing and we're better men for it. You should be proud that you're a part of it. It's alright to be scared because everybody is, but I want you to be brave also. I hope you're listening because you won't get a second warning. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes sir."

"Oh, and Saturday is that sleepover thing. I don't want to hear any bad reports from there either. Got it?"

"Yes sir."

Mr. Mackey put his arm over his son's shoulder and said, "Good, let's go eat then."

Saturday July 5th - The Jacobs House

Sandy was putting the final touches on the basement set-up for his presentation to the boys on this year's list. Kevin Mackey, Judge, Connor and Bert were giving him a hand. Brad, Sean and Stevie were keeping the attendees busy outside until everything was ready.

In the front of the room the bench Sam Jacobs had made was set up. A homemade podium sat off to one side and a table with all Sandy's notes was pushed up against the wall. There were 6 folding chairs leaning against the wall behind the podium that were reserved for the speakers. All around the rest of the room were sleeping bags and backpacks belonging to the 12-year-olds. Sandy surveyed the situation and decided he was happy with the set-up. He asked Judge and Bert if they were ready and they nodded their heads. The kids would be coming down the steps in 15 minutes.

Realizing he had a few spare minutes before the activities began, Sandy walked over and joined Kevin and Connor who were sitting by the podium. "Hey Kevin, can I ask you a favor?"

"Sure, what's up?"

"Chase is looking for a sponsor for Rory Mackey and I was wondering if you would do it."

"You're too late. Stevie and Chase asked me a couple of days ago and I said yes. I don't know the kid real well but it seemed really important to your little brother."

Sandy was surprised and disappointed. Chase had said he'd get somebody else to help him, but he didn't think he really would. He was disappointed because he had blown a chance to help his little brother and be a hero. "Okay cool. Thanks for helping out. I guess it is important to Chase."

"I'm the back-up if anything goes wrong," added Connor. "That was Stevie's idea. I'm not sure if he didn't want me to feel left out or if he's just that thorough."

"Oh Stevie covers all the bases," replied Sandy. "I gotta go guys. Five minutes till showtime."

Sandy had seen Henry, Trevor and Carter coming down the steps and he wanted to give them their assignment.

"Hey Sandy," the three boys greeted him.

"Hi guys. Glad to see you all made it. You guys have a very important role tonight. I want all three of you to be moving around talking to all the 12-year-olds and listening to what they have to say. I want you to be on the lookout for any kid who's super scared or way to uptight. Sometimes you have to spend a little time with them to get them to talk so don't rush. Hang out with different groups. If any kid says he's thinking of running away or jumping off a bridge, I want to know about it right away."

"Aren't you exaggerating a little?" asked Carter.

"Maybe, but you know what I mean. After the tornado and what happened to Cal Brewer, I think they've all been under more stress than usual. Some guys don't have a big brother or a dad they can talk to. I want to find those kids and see if we can help them get through this. Maybe they're all fine, but let's try to be sure."

"Got it Boss," replied Henry as he saluted and smiled. Just then the door at the top of the steps opened and Brad asked if they were ready.

"We are ready. Send everybody down," answered Sandy.

It took almost 10 minutes for all the boys to file down the steps into the basement, find their spots and get settled down. All 17 boys on the list were present plus a couple of older brothers who were there for support. When Sandy felt they were settled enough he moved to the front of the room. Using his serious big brother voice he called for order.

"Alright everybody. Let's quiet down now. You've been running around having fun for the past 3 hours but it's time to get down to business. We are here tonight to help get you prepared for this year's Choosing. We're going to go over the procedures and the rules. We believe that the more you know the easier it will be to get through it." The room was quiet now and Sandy noticed Jason Mackey coming down the stairs carrying some poster boards with him. He was curious what the Council President had planned, but he had to get the show moving right now, so he continued.

"The Choosing is only 10 days away. Thanks to the hard work of a lot of you guys, and others in our community, Old Knot has been cleaned up and is ready for this year's event. The only thing we have left to do is get you guys ready and that's what we're here for tonight. Most of you know each other but there might be some kids here that you don't know that well. Take a minute tonight and get to know them better. Say hi and introduce yourself. I think you'll find that you'll will have a special kind of bond with the guys you go through your Choosing with. So start now getting to know one another better."

Sandy then waved to the bottoms who lined up at the front of the room. "I bet you all know these guys, don't you? Well these are our Community Bottoms. Just like all of you they went to their Choosing hoping they wouldn't get picked, but they did. If you want to know how they felt and how they handled it ask them. They're gonna be here all night and they'd be happy to talk to you and answer questions. Actually, they're going to be running a lot of the presentation tonight so I think I'd better get out of the way and let them talk." Sandy then gestured to Judge who moved to the center of the room.

"What! No applause!" joked Judge as he held out his hands and acted shocked. The kids all laughed and then applauded loudly. Even Bert, who was usually fairly serious, laughed as he stood by Judge's side. Henry, Carter and Trevor moved out into the audience and sat down and Gordon and Finney sat off to the side with Kevin and Sandy.

"Okay that's more like it. Now I think you guys know my friend and partner Bert here. We are going to walk you through what the Choosing will be like from beginning to end. We want you to ask questions, but please raise your hand. You can use any words you want so don't be afraid to say fuck or asshole or whatever else you might want to say. You won't get in trouble for it here. We will take a break after a while so you can all stretch or go to the bathroom or come up and ask for my autograph if you want."

As the boys all laughed Judge gave Bert the signal that it was time to start. Judge was getting almost as good as Kevin Mackey at getting kids relaxed and in a good mood. As the two boys started a question and answer game with the 12-year-olds Sandy sat down with Jason and asked about the poster boards he brought.

"I'm glad you asked," the older boy replied as he pulled his attention away from the game the bottoms were leading. "I'd like to have about 5 minutes before you break to do a little presentation of my own if you don't mind."

"Sure. What are you doing?" asked Sandy out of curiosity.

"Just some Choosing facts and history. No big deal."

"Okay, we'll slide you in right before the break." As the two Council members talked business the three bottoms Sandy had mingling with the crowd were doing their work.

Henry was moving along one side of the room and Carter was mingling on the other. Trevor sat on the back wall with Chase, Rory and Scooter. As Judge and Bert were answering questions from the front of the room the two new boys were all ears. The topics ranged from starting time to earning checkmarks and proper positioning on the rail. Trevor decided this group was interested in the presentation so he didn't attempt to talk to them at the moment.

Henry sat down next to Merrick and Vince Mackey. Both of these boys attended last year's Choosing so they knew most of the information but were listening to the questions other boys asked.

"You guys learning anything?" Henry asked.

"I know most of this stuff," whispered Vincent.

"So you think you're ready for the big day."

"Oh yeah. I'm as ready as I'll ever be."

"How about you Merrick? You ready?"

The 12-year-old scowled. "I'll never be ready for this."

Henry made a mental note. Merrick is angry.

Across the room Carter joined Joey Sanders and Tilton Garvin. The two were cutting up and giggling and expected Carter to tell them to be quiet.

"You two seem to be having fun. Are you ready for your Choosing?"

"I guess I am. I just wanna get it over with," answered Tilton.

"I'm ready too," said Joey. "I just hope nobody tries to fuck me or I might have to pound them." Then he punched his fist into his open palm 3 times fast.

"I know you are just kidding, but talk like that could get you in big trouble. Especially now, right before the Choosing," Carter cautioned the boy. "If one of the Council members heard you say that, you could get bottomed real fast."

Realizing he had overstepped the bounds, Joey quickly apologized. "I was just joking. I didn't mean nothing by it. Please don't tell anybody Carter. I'm sorry."

"I won't say a word but you need to watch your mouth or it'll get you in trouble. I gotta move on. Remember what I said."

Both boys nodded as Carter went to the next group. Tilton turned to his friend and told him," You know he's right. You can't talk like that."

At the front of the room Judge and Bert had just finished running through the Choosing itinerary to give everyone an idea how the day would go. Sandy came over and whispered something to Bert who then turned and addressed the crowd. "Okay. Since your probably tired of hearing us talk we're gonna turn this over to Jason Mackey, our Council President, so he can say a few words. Then we'll take a short pee break because I see a lot of you guys wiggling around out there like you gotta go. When we come back we will talk about lubing up and," he paused here and reached behind the podium and pulled out the paddle, "I'll tell you about Mr. Manners here." Bert had an evil and intimidating grin when he wanted and he flashed it as he held up the punishment implement.

Jason took center stage and welcomed all the boys. He had both an authoritarian and a friendly voice he could use interchangeably. Tonight he was using his friendly version.

"I'm very happy to see all of you participating in the sleepover this year. I think it's a great opportunity for you guys to learn what to expect come the 15th. This year there are 179 eligible voters who are going to be selecting 5 of you to be the next bottoms. 179! That's a lot of votes. Anyway, I wanted to give you a few history facts about our tradition that I think are important. Does anybody here know what year the first Choosing was held?"

Tim Mackey slowly raised his hand.

"Go ahead Tim."

"1853." the boy said hesitantly.

"You are correct. Very good Tim," said Jason as he pulled a marker from his pocket and wrote in large letters on the poster boards he brought, FIRST CHOOSING 1853. Then he handed it along with a roll of masking tape to Judge. "Would you hang that up on the wall somewhere please?" Judge took the poster and taped it up on the side wall.

"Next question. Does anybody know the name of the first bottom picked?" The room was silent. "Good, I'm teaching you something you don't know. His name was David Mackey." Jason then wrote another poster saying FIRST BOTTOM – DAVID MACKEY. He again passed it to Judge who hung it on another wall.

"Next question. How did they vote in the first Choosing?" This question was also met with silence. "Alright I'll tell you. If you wanted to vote for someone you slapped him on his butt." This drew some laughs from the group. "Just think if we did that today with 179 voters. If you were popular you could have a really sore ass," said Jason as he wrote another poster and handed it to Judge. The boys were all laughing now. "Okay, listen up. Last question and I bet nobody gets this one. What year did we start using checkmarks?"

Once again Tim raised his hand. "1938" he answered when Jason pointed at him.

"Man, I am surprised. You're right. How do you know all these dates?"

"My Dad is real big on Mackey history."

"I think that's excellent. The next time I see him I'm going to tell him you know your stuff," said Jason as he finished up the last poster and handed it off. "That's all I wanted to say guys. I want you all to look over my posters and remember this stuff. It might help you get through your Choosing. Good luck to you all."

As Jason left Bert announced, "10-minute pee break." Some kids headed upstairs to the bathroom or out to the backyard. Chase, Rory and Scooter got up and stretched a bit but none of them had to go so they sat back down. Trevor Havers came over and sat with them. He wanted to see how the new-comers were doing.

"Are you guys doing alright?"

"Oh yeah, Chase is taking good care of us," said Scooter.

"There sure is a lot to learn," added Rory.

"It is kind of complicated sometimes. There are a lot of rules but that's what keeps it fair. Nobody gets away with cheating," replied the older boy.

Rory got a serious look on his face as he turned and looked at Trevor. "Can I ask you something personal?"

"Sure."

"How did you feel when you got bottomed?"

"I guess at first I was in shock. I couldn't believe it happened to me. But, at the same time I was mad and I think hurt too. I was pissed off at the kids that made smart ass comments when they voted for me and I was hurt because some of them were my friends. I was also scared shitless."

All the boys were silent as they reflected on his comments. "How did you handle it?" Scooter wanted to know.

"Well, you don't really have a choice in the matter. You know you agree to abide by the results when you check-in. You gave your word so you can't back out. I didn't do much but lay there and let it happen. You're feeling all this stuff but before you can think about it too much their telling you who's going to be fucking you. It kind of happens fast or at least it feels that way. I remember thinking I just wanted them to get done so I could go home. I wanted to get away from everybody."

The three 12-year-olds were silent as they thought about his very honest answer. Then Rory asked another question. "Do you like being a bottom?"

"You know, that's a tough question. I can't say I like it. Sometimes I have to deal with guys I don't like a whole lot and it does take up a lot of your time when you could be out having fun. It is work. But, I don't hate it like I thought I would in the beginning. I've made friends with a lot of guys I didn't know real well before. I got to meet kids that live kind of far away from me, and even though I saw them in school I didn't know them till they came over to uh, you know, visit me. The other bottoms are really good guys too. They're some of my best friends now and I think they'd do anything for me. I guess you could say I'm okay with it, but it was hard to get used to."

"Thanks," said Scooter. "You explained that good. I was wondering how it felt."

"Yeah, I think I understand a little better now too," added Rory.

"I'm glad to see you guys are thinking about this stuff. Your Choosing really is a big deal and you'll feel that after it's over. No matter what happens, it changes you. I want to get a drink before they start up again so I'm gonna run. I'll talk with you later." Trevor then left the boys to think about what he had said. That was his toughest question of the night and he thought he gave them a good answer.

"So what's next?" asked Rory.

"They're gonna tell us about taking licks with the paddle to get rid of checkmarks and lubing up," answered Chase.

"You mean lubing up your hole?" asked Scooter.

"Yep."

"Who gets lubed up?" he wanted to know.

"All of us. Everybody on the line gets lubed up. They'll tell you all about it in a minute."

Scooter wasn't thrilled at the idea of getting his asshole lubed up but he didn't say anymore. Rory was thinking about Carl trying to stick his finger in his butt. This was something he didn't want to think about right now.

Sandy was having a little conference with Bert, Judge and Kevin Mackey in the front corner of the room. He complimented the two bottoms on their handling of the first presentation and asked if they would introduce the new procedures next. He wanted Kevin to handle the part on lubing up because there seemed to be a lot of nervous questions on the subject when it was briefly mentioned during the day's itinerary earlier. He picked Kevin to handle that part because he had a gift for being very honest, yet he put the kids at ease. Although he was no longer a bottom, he was an unofficial adviser to Sandy and a very close friend. He was respected by all the kids in the community. When the time was up, Sandy yelled for everyone to sit back down so they could continue. The room quickly grew quiet.

Bert started things off by holding up the paddle labeled Mr. Manners. Throughout the room soft comments could be heard.

"Holy shit."

"Who are they gonna use that on?"

"That's bigger than my dad's."

"This is Mr. Manners," Bert began. "This will be the first Choosing he's gonna be used in and some of you might get to meet him up close and personal. But you will only feel him if you want to."

"Who's gonna want that?" somebody in the audience asked.

"If you don't mind your manners and you get a checkmark, you will be given a choice. You can just leave the checkmark and pay for it with a blowjob, or you can take 2 licks from Mr. Manners here and the checkmark gets erased. This will only be offered for your first checkmark. Does everybody understand that?"

"How hard are you gonna hit us?" Joey Sanders asked.

"Oh it will hurt. It is a punishment so you're not supposed to like it," replied Bert.

"Yeah, but how hard," called out Cameron Mackey.

"It's hard to tell you how hard, but I'll be happy to show you if you want. Just come on up here," answered Bert with a big smile. "Anybody?" No one in the group volunteered. "Okay then, you all know about this now and can think about it until the big day. Now Judge is going to tell you about another little change."

Judge told the boys about the option of surrendering. If they wanted to surrender they would announce it when they are introduced and would automatically be bottomed for 1 year. They could sit out the rest of the Choosing and would not get any checkmarks or be in any games. They would still be part of the public fucking. Most of the group were shaking their heads and saying, "no way." Chase was thinking about the deal he had made with Gordon. When Judge was done Kevin took over.

Kevin and Bert carried the bench to the middle of the room and positioned it over the 2-foot markers on the floor. Then he gave an exaggerated bow which earned him applause and laughter. "Now first thing, I need a volunteer." When no one in the basement moved or spoke, he pleaded. "Come on. You don't have to get naked and I'm not gonna hurt you. I just need somebody bend over the rail here. Tom Mackey," he called pointing at the boy. "Come on up here. Don't be a coward like the rest of these guys." As everyone laughed at his comment Tom came forward and stood by the bench.

Tom liked Kevin and couldn't say no to his request. He was blushing a bit and was a little nervous about this because Kevin could be pretty outrageous at times.

"Let's have a big hand for my volunteer here," Kevin continued. The boys in the room obliged with applause. "Alright buddy. I want you to bend over the bench just like it's Choosing Day." Tom laid over the bench as instructed. "Now, look at those marks on the floor. They are 2 feet apart and that's where your feet should be." Tom adjusted his feet. "Good! Now on the new stage at Old Knot there is a rope along the rail for you to hold on to but we don't have one here so just pretend."

Tom reached down and grabbed hold of an imaginary rope and all the boys laughed.

"See, I knew you'd be a good volunteer." Kevin joked. "Okay, pretend it's time to be lubed up. I'm gonna come up behind you and tell you it's time and I'm gonna push a slippery finger in your butt. I want you to try and put a hand back to stop me."

Tom tried to put his hand back but couldn't get it over the rail without sliding back and almost standing up. "Good," said Kevin. "Now bend back over again. Did everybody see that? He couldn't block me without getting up and what happens if you get up?"

"Checkmark!" came the answer from the audience.

"Correct! Now I could have stopped him from getting up by holding him down with my hand or arm but that would have meant he was resisting," added Kevin as he pretended to struggle with the boy and hold him down. Everybody in the room was laughing except Rory Mackey. Seeing Kevin hold Tom down reminded him of his experience with Carl and he saw a glimpse of Carl's bloody face. This was not good. The rage inside was trying to take over. He sat quietly staring as Kevin went on about submitting and putting up with a little discomfort. Just when he thought he would have to get up and leave, Kevin stopped talking.

Carter and Henry were carrying in plates of cookies, provided by several moms, and setting them on the table up front. Kevin told everybody to take a snack break before the final question and answer period. Chase and Scooter stood up and stretched. Rory was trying to get control of his breathing.

"You guys go ahead and grab some cookies. I'm gonna run upstairs a minute," said Chase.

"Cool. I'm hungry," replied Scooter as he headed to the front of the room.

Chase realized Rory look really strange. "You okay?" he asked.

"Yes, I'm fine. Just a little nervous I guess. Where are you going?"

"I'm gonna ask my dad if we can sleep in the tent out back. You, me, Scooter, Ethan, Ben and Oak could all fit and we could have some fun. I gotta get permission though."

"Okay, don't take too long. I feel better with you here."

Chase thought his friend was acting a little odd but he'd figure it out when he got back. He was really horny and they could have a great time if they could sleep in the tent. He took off for the living room where his dad was hanging out with some other parents.

As Chase bolted up the steps Rory scanned the room. Scooter was standing near the foot of the stairs talking with Stevie and Cole. Only about 10 feet away from him, Oak, Koby and Ricky Mackey were munching on cookies and goofing around.

"You wanna go out back for a minute?" asked Koby.

"No, I think I wanna get Koby lubed up. Come on. Help me," said Oak as he pounced on Koby and started tickling him. Ricky joined in and all three boys were laughing. "We gotta turn him over," Oak said as he flipped his friend onto his stomach. "Now you hold him down and I'll lube him up," Ricky quickly placed both hands on Koby's back to hold him down.

"Come on you guys. Let me up." the victim pleaded halfheartedly.

Oak then poked his finger into the skinny kids butt and tickled him at the same time.

As Rory watched his friend being held down and poked in the ass the memories of Carl came back full force. He saw the bloody face and he knew he had to get out. He had to run as fast as he could because the rage was coming and he couldn't stop it. He stood up, grabbed his backpack and headed for the stairs. As he passed Stevie, Cole and Scooter they all looked at him but he ignored them and started up the steps.

"Where's Rory going?" Stevie asked Scooter.

"I don't know."

"I'll get him," said Stevie as he pushed past his friends and bounded up the stairs. He caught up with him at the top of the steps and grabbed the backpack pulling Rory sideways so they were facing each other with the pack between them.

"Where are you going buddy? I thought you were sleeping over."

"I gotta go Stevie," Rory answered. He was breathing rapidly through his mouth and on the verge of losing control.

"Look, I know this all sounds pretty scary but you have a lot of friends here that are going to help you get through it. Come on back down and we'll talk about it," offered Stevie as he tugged on the backpack to try and turn the kid back toward the stairs. Then Rory exploded.

"You want it, then take the fucking thing you little faggot," he shouted as he shoved Stevie and the backpack backward. He hit the wall so hard his butt broke through the drywall leaving a good size hole. Stevie fell to the floor trying to figure out what had happened. Rory ran out the back door just as Sam Jacobs burst into the kitchen followed by Chase.

"What the heck is going on here," asked the man.

"I don't know," answered Stevie who was a bit stunned.

"What do you mean you don't know. There's a hole in the wall and your sitting on the floor and you don't know what happened. Who just ran out the door?"

"Rory."

Sandy had now arrived at the top of the steps to see what the commotion was. "Who's yelling up here," he asked.

"It was Rory. He shoved me through the wall and then he ran out."

"That's crazy. What did you do? I know you did something. Why do you have his backpack?" Chase asked loudly. He didn't like his friend being accused of doing this.

"Alright. That's enough out of you Chase. Go and find your friend and bring him back here. I want to hear his side of the story," Mr. Jacobs ordered. "Stevie you go back downstairs and stay out of trouble."

The teen followed his older brother down the steps. When they were in the basement Sandy led him to a quiet corner. "What happened up there?"

"I really don't know. Rory freaked out, shoved me into the wall and ran out the door. Dad's mad at me. Chase thinks I did something to his best friend and the kitchen wall is busted up. This really sucks."

Sandy was concerned. The whole thing didn't make sense. He had to finish the presentations right now, but they'd get to the bottom of this afterward. Sandy told the bottoms to start the question and answer period while he sat with Stevie who was pretty upset by everything.

Outside Chase found Brad and Luke sitting in the backyard.

"Have you guys seen Rory?"

"Yes, he came out of the house and ran toward the street. What's going on?" asked Brad. Chase didn't answer. He ran out to the street looking for his friend.

Rory was passing through the park. He wasn't jogging, he was flat out running as fast as he could. The anger and associated adrenalin rush inside him was still growing and he knew the only way to control it was to exhaust himself physically, so he ran as fast and as hard as he could. He was heading for home where he felt he might be safe.

After searching the neighborhood for five minutes, Chase gave up and returned to the house. He told his dad he couldn't find the missing boy anywhere.

"Shit!" muttered Sam Jacobs. The remark added to Chase's concern because his dad rarely ever swore. This was a serious situation.

"What should I do Dad?" he asked.

"Go ahead and get in the car. We've got to find him."

The two drove around for 10 minutes and saw no one. Chase suggested they go to Rory's house and see if he had gone home. Sam agreed. They had just pulled into the drive when Suzanne Mackey opened the front door and looked out. Chase ran from the car and his dad followed.

"Is Rory here?" Chase asked. His voice echoed the deep concern he felt.

"Yes Chase. He's up in his room." Instead of gesturing for him to go in as she usually did, Rory's mom reached behind her and pulled the door shut.

"Can I see him?"

"He doesn't want to see anybody right now dear. I think it would be best to let him have some privacy."

Chase was very confused. Sam Jacobs spoke up. "Is he okay?"

"Yes, he's alright. He just needs some time alone."

"I don't mean to be pushy Suzanne but something happened at my house. The sleepover was disrupted, I've got a hole in my kitchen wall and your son and one of my boys were involved. I'd like to ask him what happened."

"I understand how you feel Sam and I'm sure that your son had nothing to do with it. I'll pay for any damages to the wall, but I want to let Rory have some space at the moment. Chase would you wait in the car while I talk to your dad please?"

The boy looked at his father, who nodded, and then turned to do as he was told. He looked up at Rory's bedroom window as he passed. The light was on but there was no sign of his friend. Even though they found him and he was safe, Chase still had no clue what had happened.

He watched as his dad and Mrs. Mackey talked and then his father returned to the car. Rory's mom went back in the house.

"What's going on Dad?" he asked as the car started.

"I'm not really sure son. There are some things here I don't understand. Suzanne promised to call me tomorrow and try and explain more. Here's the important part. Your friend is okay and his mom is positive that Stevie had nothing to do with whatever happened. So, I guess we'll have to wait till tomorrow to learn more. I think you should apologize to Stevie when we get home. You accused him of doing something wrong."

"Okay," replied Chase. He remained quiet for the rest of the trip.

As soon as they got back to the house Chase went to the basement and got Stevie. He asked him to come upstairs and talk. When Sandy saw the boys heading up the steps he signaled to Brad to join him and they followed their younger brothers. At Sandy's suggestion the four of them went to his bedroom. When they all found a place to sit Chase started the conversation. "What happened Stevie? Please tell me everything. Rory's at home and he doesn't want to talk to me. When I left him everything was fine and now it looks like I lost a best friend and I don't know why."

Stevie told him everything he remembered from following Rory up the steps to getting slammed into the wall. He tried to remember the exact words he spoke and what the other boy said. After telling his version of the incident he looked at his little brother. He could tell by the look on his face that it hadn't helped one bit.

"Rory yelled so loud that a lot of the kids in the basement heard him call Stevie a faggot. He owes a big time apology for that," said Sandy.

"I know, I know," said Chase.

"Nobody's ever walked out of the sleepover before. Do you think he'll show for the Choosing?" Brad wondered out loud.

"I don't know. I told you he wouldn't talk to me." He was feeling very uncomfortable defending his absent friend.

"You know, it might be a good idea if you sort of backed off from Rory for a while. When all the boys go home tomorrow the story about him storming out of the sleepover is gonna be all over Indian Spring. If guys think he has a bad attitude about the Choosing that might make them want to vote for him and you don't need to be associated with that. Do you see what I mean?" Sandy asked.

"I am not going to dump a good friend when he's in trouble," replied Chase angrily.

"I know you always take care of your friends and that's a good thing. But, with the 15th coming up fast I think you need to think about yourself a little. You might feel you're under pressure now but as the Choosing gets closer it's gonna get worse. It can be real intense. Trust me, I know," said Sandy.

"No! You don't know. You never went through a Choosing so you don't know how it feels. You never had to count the days until it's here. You want to tell me how to act and what to do just because you're older. You have no idea how it feels. Forget it Sandy. I'm not listening."

Sandy was speechless. Chase had really struck a nerve. He really didn't know how it felt because he hadn't experienced it.

As his youngest brother got up and walked out of the bedroom the others were silent. No one knew what to say. Finally Stevie asked, "Should I go after him?"

"No. We're not going to settle anything tonight. I'm just really worried about him. It pisses me off that I can't seem to talk to my own little brother."

"Maybe we should try talking to him one at a time. When we all get together he thinks we're ganging up on him," Brad offered.

"That might be a good idea," Stevie agreed. "But not tonight. I think we're all tired."

"Let's get back to the basement. We're supposed to be the hosts," said Sandy.

Gordon, who was lying with his little brother Sammy, saw Chase come down the steps and head to the back of the room to sit with some buddies. He had planned on telling the kid he didn't have to surrender and maybe have a little one on one talk about consideration of others, but the look on the younger boy's face told him this was not the time to talk. It didn't matter. There was still plenty of time until the Choosing.

When the three Jacobs' brothers returned to the basement, they saw Chase sitting by the back wall with Scooter and Oak. Stevie went over under the pretext of saying goodnight, but he really told him that things were gonna work out and they exchanged one of those brotherly looks that made them both feel better.

After Stevie left, Oak leaned over and asked, "You want a hand job?"

"No thanks. Not tonight," replied Chase.

Oak was really surprised because Chase was always horny and ready to play. He moved over closer so that he was almost on top of his buddy and whispered in his ear, "Maybe you didn't hear me right." I said do you want a hand job?"

Chase had to laugh as he shoved his friend off of him.

"Hey, don't push me away when I'm being nice to you," Oak giggled. "If you don't behave I'm gonna have to crawl into that sleeping bag with you."

Oak's words made Chase think a little. He had been pushed away by a friend today and it didn't feel good. He wasn't going to do the same thing to someone else. Besides, he could use a good hand job right now. He unzipped his sleeping bag and held up the flap. Oak smiled and wiggled his way in. This was how friends should feel.

Tuesday July 8th – Cal Brewer's House

There were two reasons Sandy had decided to hold the bottoms meeting at Cal's house. Number one, there was no clubhouse at the moment. Second, Sandy wanted Cal included in the group and due to his limited mobility, this was the easiest way.

Cal was enjoying seeing everybody again and Sandy noted that the boy really looked better after being home for less than a month. The dark circles under his eyes were gone, he had a tan from hanging out by the pool and he looked far stronger. He was showing off his ability to move around on his new artificial leg tonight and proudly walked among the group without his crutches. He was only allowed to wear the device for 2 hours at a time. But he didn't worry about that. Judge had been following him around like a puppy and keeping an eye on the clock. Cal often joked about his fellow bottom being a party pooper, but he really did appreciate having a friend who watched over him so much.

When the meeting got started Sandy thanked and complimented all the boys for their assistance with the sleepover. There were a couple of questions about what happened with Rory that he could not answer. He told them honestly that he didn't know because he was in the basement when the shouting took place.

"I'm hearing talk that he might not show for the Choosing. Do you think that's true?" asked Finney.

"I haven't heard anything about that. Just because he left the sleepover doesn't mean he's not coming to the Choosing," answered Sandy.

"My little brother tells me he's a pretty nice kid. I hope he knows the penalty for not coming on the 15th. I mean, not only will he get bottomed, but all the kids will really look down on him," added Carter.

"Look guys, he hasn't broken any rules and there are always rumors about somebody who's not gonna show. We can't worry about it until it happens. I'm sure his friends will be talking to him about it." Sandy really wanted to get of this subject so he asked if anybody was having any problems. Henry Mackey raised his hand. "Go ahead Henry."

"I'm worried that you might start getting complaints about me turning boys away. I've been taking care of at least 4 guys a day and I still get more stopping by."

"It's because it's summer. Everybody is hanging out at the swimming hole, or at the ballfield, and you live the closest," Carter explained.

"Maybe I could come and visit you some days," Trevor Havers offered. "I'm not always busy. If you get an extra request I'll take care of them if I can use your room."

"That would be cool. I like company anyway," said Henry.

"If I have a slow day I could do the same," Carter offered.

"Well, I don't have any slow days," Bert chimed in, "But, I could make up a sign like the one at the old Barber Shop in Cool Spring and we'll put it on Henry's porch. It'll say 2 Bottoms – No Waiting."

Everybody cracked up laughing at Bert's idea.

"I gotta say, you guys are amazing. With all you do for the Brotherhood already your looking for ways to improve things. You are all totally awesome," Sandy said. He never held back on compliments because this group really was proud of the job they did and he liked that.

They talked a bit longer until Judge announced that Cal's walking time was up and he had to take the leg off. With all the business completed Sandy closed the meeting. As the boys got ready to leave, Cal said he wanted to make an announcement. When he had everybody's attention, he surprised them all by telling them he was coming to the Choosing.

"How are you gonna walk that trail?" asked Gordon.

"He's right Cal. That's not an easy walk," agreed Bert.

"I can't tell you how because I don't know. Judge is handling the arrangements. My dad has agreed so I'm gonna be there," Cal insisted. Judge just sat back and smiled.

The woods behind Bryce Mackey's House

Michael Mackey and Shawn Sanders followed the narrow trail that led to Bryce's favorite hanging out spot. As they neared the clearing they saw the 15-year-old sitting next to the fire pit.

"Hey guys," he called out.

"Hey Bryce. What are you doing out here all alone?" asked Shawn.

"I'm just relaxing. Care for a sip?" he offered as he picked up a Mason jar from between his feet and held it out.

"Damn, you got shine," blurted out Michael excitedly.

"I always have a little around," Bryce bragged. The truth was Tim Hardin had been by the night before and left the jar.

Shawn accepted the offer and took a sip, then he passed it to Michael who took a bit too much and made himself choke.

"Go easy boy, we don't want to waste that stuff," Bryce said with a laugh.

"Where's Oak?" asked Michael once he got his breath back.

"He's still back at the house," his brother replied.

"We were looking forward to telling him what a sweet looking butt he had and how we were so looking forward to seeing him at the Choosing," remarked Shawn.

"Actually, you're right. His ass does look mighty sweet and I think he's gonna draw some votes. A bunch of my friends asked if I'd be pissed if they voted for my little bro, and I tell em no," said Bryce with a giggle.

"I wanted to hear what happened with that Rory kid at the sleepover. I heard he got scared and ran out. Now some kids are saying he won't show for the Choosing. I hope he doesn't so they bottom him," Michael said. "I really want to fuck that little ass."

"Me and Tim were talking about that last night. Tim thinks that if he doesn't show and they bottom him, his momma will just pack him up and send him back to California. If that happens. you boys won't get to try those sweet cheeks."

"Damn, that sucks. He's probably right though," agreed Shawn.

"If you want some of that your only chance is to get it before the Choosing."

"What do you mean?" asked Michael.

The older boy loved how he could tease the younger ones. He had their complete attention and they were taking this all in. "Well, you know the trails he runs on every day. You just wait for him along there somewhere and have a little chat with him. You already heard he likes to get fucked so give him what he wants. Take your buddy with the muscles with you."

"You mean Andrew?" Shawn asked.

"Yes, Andrew. It'll be three against one and the kid won't resist. Give him a good fucking and make him cum. He won't complain to anybody if he has a good time. You might even convince him to come to the Choosing and then you'll have claiming rights. If not, like Tim said, he'll be heading back to California but at least you got a taste of him."

"You know that does make sense," said Shawn thoughtfully as he took another sip from the jar.

"I like the idea, as long as we don't get in trouble," added Michael. "If he claims we raped him, we'd be well and truly screwed."

"He ain't gonna claim you raped him if you make him cum. Besides, it'll be his word against yours. Who do you think the Council will believe? Some new kid from California or you boys who grew up here?"

Damn, thought Shawn. Bryce does have a real good point. They had to go talk to Andrew.
