Toby was curled under Craig's arm. Craig yawned and opened his eyes. The room looked like a scene from a badly made murder film. Dead bodies lay strewn from one wall to the other. It was a biological weave of arms and legs with a few bare butts, and sleeping bags thrown in for colour. Craig laughed to himself as he wished he had a camera. He was quite surprised that Toby was still asleep. He was generally awake before anyone else. It always use to amaze Craig, no matter what time you woke up Toby had always been up an hour or so before. Craig looked down at his pal; he had never seen him so rested so at peace. Craig replayed the events of the previous night over in his head as he looked down on Toby's face. There was nothing left to ask, nothing left to worry about. The game was over and the relationship had begun. Craig managed to pull his arm away from Toby's head without waking him. He reached under the pillow, grabbed his boxer shorts and slipped them on. "Well out of the frying pan and into the fire." Laughed Craig to himself as he tried to visualize as pathway through the debris to the toilet. Craig was doing quite well. He managed to step over Dave and Luke, who had evolved into a cocoon, and slowly foot shimmy past Nick and Alex. Craig stood in the door way and looked back at his accomplishment., "Not bad Craigy boy, a complete crossing and not one eye open." Craig, quite pleased with himself, turned and disappeared behind the closed door of the bathroom. Toby squinted as the sunlight burned at his face. Sitting up he surveyed the same carnage as Craig. "Bloody hell, what an abortion!" Toby pulled the quilt up cover his chest as the cold morning bit at his body. Dave began to stir from in his sleeping bag. " You look comfortable Dave." Whispered Toby. David didn't try to untangle himself from Luke's arms. " I'am Tobs." David went red " we weren't doing anything, Luke was cold so I offered to sleep closer to him so......." Toby knew what was happening to David. He could see by the way they were looking at each other during the night, and they way they sat close and shared a quilt when they restarted to the game. "Its all right Dave, I know." Toby moved closer to the end of the bed "I know David that you have found a sole mate a special partner. I know what it feels like to be close to that person; The feel of their skin on yours, the way your heart beats when you are together and you wished you could lay and hold that person to you died." Toby was looking deep into David and David knew what Toby was saying. " I feel weird Tobs, it all feels kind of wrong but at the same time loving and perfect." David Shocked Toby with is honesty, not to mention that he had managed to be serious for more than 5 minutes. Toby knew how David felt and was reminded of his conversation with Craig the night before. " Just talk to Luke David, tell him how you feel don 't let anything grind away in your heart. Craig and I " Toby almost found it hard to mention Craig and himself in the context of a couple. This is the first time he would mention his relationship outside his diary. " Always tell each other how we feel..no secrets Dave." David's head felt light as he chewed on the realism of his conversation. David couldn't believe he was talking about his Boyfriend to one of his oldest mates, who in turn was discussing his boyfriend. "This is all a bit weird and confusing I'm afraid." David smiled at Toby then snuggled back into Luke's body." But I think I may get used to it." The two boys quietly laughed. "whats funny" said Craig entering the room with two cups of coffee. "David thinks he's gay." Risked Toby. Craig peered down at David, who was only visible by his smile and his mop of blonde hair. "No I think it's the guys he sleeps with." All three boys laughed. "Toby your Mum and Dad are home, Mums making pancakes." Craig sat on the end of the bed , and handed Toby his coffee. Craig looked at Toby over the rim of his cup and waited for him to put his lips to the rim of the cup. "and she wants to know who spilt oil all over the bench." Toby choked on his coffee. Craig began to laugh "I'm only joking Toby Relax." "You bastard! Craig," Toby began to laugh and reached again for his coffee, as the need now for caffeine, was greater than before. ** Secret Diary of Toby Wilson The house was quiet as Toby closed the door on his last guest. He let out a long sigh as he stood with his back against the door. "that was the best night ever." "hey Tobs!" Craig stood with his arms around Toby's waist, Toby fell into his pal pushing his butt into him. "Tobs I'm going home for a bit, I want to go and get changed, have a sleep and stuff." "Ok Craig I'm probably going to grab 40 winks myself." "I'll come back later and help you clean your room." The two boys kissed and Craig left. Toby wasted no time, he was keen to fill in his diary before last night exited from his mind. David felt as if he could fly as he walked down the road towards Luke's house, the two boys laughed and play fought, all the way to Luke's front door. "Well this is my place Dave. I had a great night last night." Both boys went quiet, as if they were lost for something to say. Luke felt uncomfortable as he felt unsure of himself. "I am going to see you again Dave, aren't I?" David was so relieved he was just about to ask Luke the same thing." You bet you will, in fact I may even move in." Luke laughed, he was so full of adrenaline and happiness that he thought his heart was going to give up or explode from the extra work. "That's great Dave. My mum and Dad play squash tonight, come over and hang or something." said Luke with an evil smile. David just didn't want to move, tonight was just too far away. "Ok then Luke I will see you about 7.oo?" "Yeah that will be cool." David began to run down the path but was called back by Luke. "Hey Dude! Don't wear anything too complicated. " Luke laughed but he meant it. "No problem I'll wear my nets." David disappeared; he only lived down the road, about eight houses, and he ran all the way. ***** Steam leaked into the hallway as Toby opened the door of the bathroom. Wrapped in a towel he made his way across to his room. Toby was suprised to find his Mum in there tidying up. "what are you doing Mum?" said Toby feeling uncomfortable; he hated his Mum riffling through his room. " "well, I don't know Toby, perhaps I'm water skiing." "oh Ha HA Mother. Craig and I will do that later." Toby's Mum seemed upset about something. Although she was joking around Toby could tell there was something wrong. "alright Toby. When you have finished here I want to have a word with you." Toby's Mum left the room roughing Toby's hair on her way past. Again something she only did when she was upset with him. Toby felt cold as the door closed behind him. For his life he couldn't think what the problem was. They made sure everything was ship shape before they went to bed. Toby sat at his desk and reached into his draw for his diary; it wasn't there! Toby search the draw twice , three times it still wasn't there. His heart moved to his throat and tears welled in his eyes as he frantically raced through the room pulling out cupboards and lifting books.....still no diary. Toby stood in the middle of his room, the light from the window spotlighting him in his desperation. Toby's mind was a blank; where is it , was it stolen, was it lost......did his Mum have it? The realism of this froze Toby to the spot, his heart began to race and his blood rushed to his feet. He was cold. Toby sat on his bed and began to cry. Pictures raced through his mind as he pondered the forth-coming parental explosion. Thing were now worse. The sound of car door forced Toby to look out of his window. His father was home. Toby's Dad never came home early from work unless it was an emergency. How will he explain his diary to his father. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------ I hope you enjoyed part 10.
