The Boy from the Boat- Part 3 "Joey, get up, and start getting ready for school," my mom yelled towards my room. "Okay mom, I'm awake," I yelled back with a frustrated tone. "Okay son, I'm off to work, make sure you don't miss the bus," my mom said, walking out the front door. I sat up, and got out of bed, and turned the light on. I still had an hour before I had to be at the bus stop. I laid back down in bed, and started thinking about yesterday. I was remembering our trip on the canal, and when we were playing video games. I was mainly remembering how he looked, also when he told me that he noticed me having a good time, and winked at me. I couldn't stop thinking about it. Was I just reading too much into it, or did he notice me checking him out? If he did, that was a good sign, right? I snapped myself out of that thought, sure that I was probably reading too much into it. I got out of bed, got dressed and proceeded to go into the kitchen to get me some breakfast, just some pop-tarts and orange juice. The breakfast of kings, I know, but my dad was already at work, and my mom had just left for work. So I didn't feel like making a full English breakfast, or anything that required more use than a toaster. I sat down and ate my breakfast and as soon as I was finished, I headed back to my room. After I got dressed, I checked to make sure everything I needed was in my backpack. I was almost ready to head to the bus stop, when I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door, and there was Colten. "Hey, I was wondering if you would like a ride to school?" He asked with a hopeful smile. "That would be great Colten, let me grab my backpack." I said. This is a good sign, right? I know he could only be asking out of kindness, but I would like to think there is more to it. I know we just met yesterday, but I would like to think we have some sort of connection. What do I know? I have the world's worst "gay-dar", I can't tell if someone's gay or straight. Hell, there could be a guy, running down the street, in short shorts, sucking a dick like a lollipop, and I would not think about his sexuality. I'm not saying I wouldn't laugh, or giggle at the sight, but I would not look at him and think he was gay. Now that I think of that sight in my head, it would be logical to think he is gay. Another thing, why should sexuality be a big deal? Why does someone care if I like dick, or not. It's none of anyones business. For fuck sakes, it's 2014, why should a boy like me still be afraid of coming out, and worry about all this backlash. Okay, I'm done ranting now, if I don't stop myself now, I will be late for school. I turn back towards the front door, with my back pack, and head out. What I saw amazed me. I thought Colten's family was well off, but I was not expecting what I saw. A fucking Rolls Royce, pardon my French, but a Rolls Royce is not something I see every day. "Is that yours?" I asked with my mouth wide open. "Yah, well it's my Mom's", he said opening the back door for me to slide in. It turns out that Colten's parents are loaded, his mom works at a major advertising agency, and his father is a senior partner at a major law firm. His father also has a big trust fund from his father, who made his fortune working in the oil business. All I could think was wow, you lucky dog. My parents work full time jobs so we can live comfortably, and his work for a hobby. Well I assume for a hobby, who works at a law firm for fun? "So, Colten, this is the new boyfriend you were talking about?" his mother asked. I swear Colten's face went blood red, I don't know if from embarrassment, or rage. I was not sure how to take what his mother said. Is he gay, or was she being a typical mother trying to embarrass her son? Now again my mind is wondering how to take what she said. See this is why I don't make friends easily, I overthink every little thing that's said. Although this might be justified to over think, I mean his mother did say boyfriend after all, and he was talking about me. My mind started to wonder again, and then I heard: "This is my FRIEND, Joey, we hung out yesterday", he said with his face still boiling red. "Thanks for the ride Ma'am, I appreciate it", I chimed in. "Call me Susan, and it's no problem Joey, it is nice seeing Colten with his little friends", she said, trying to embarrass her son some more. After that, the rest of the ride to school was silent. Colten glanced my way a few times, and his face was still red from embarrassment. But the best part was when our bare legs touched each other, and our eyes met. He has the most beautiful blue eyes. Finally then the car came to a stop. "Alright boys, we are at school", she said. "Thanks again for the ride, Susan", I said sincerely. "No problem, I will be here to pick both of you up after school" she said with a smile. We got out the car, and headed towards the school. We still had 20 minutes before we had to be at home room, so we hung out in the lunch room. We also decided which table to meet each other at lunch. "I'm sorry about my mom", Colten said, his face still a little red from before. "It's okay dude, thanks again for the ride", I said sincerely. "No problem, I thought it would give us a chance to get to know each other better. I wasn't counting on my Mom embarrassing me like that" he said while rolling his cute blue eyes. I just giggled, I don't know why, but the whole thing was funny to me. Plus his eye roll was too cute. "What are you giggling about?" Colten asked. Okay so I don't really have an answer here. I can't just say, oh I love the way you roll your eyes, without sounding like I'm hitting on him. I'm too awkward to be around the general public, just lock me up and put me in the mental hospital. On second thought, let's not, I wouldn't be able to see Colten, and that would be a crime. Even if I'm too much of a wimp to tell him how I feel. I know what you are thinking, I'm only 13, and I just met this boy. But the more I get to know him, and just be around him, the more I know I like him. "The way you roll your eyes is funny", I replied. That's all I could think of. It technically is the truth. I just left out the part about how much I love it when he rolls his eyes. "I got to get going, my first class is on the other side of school", he said grabbing his back pack, and headed for the door. Before leaving he turned, and looked at me, and gave me a big smile, and rolled his eyes. I do love the way he totally confuses me. Is he being friendly, or just subtly hitting on me? I know it's not a gay bashing area, but still, being a gay male in middle school can be torture. I read all the time of kids being bullied so badly they take their lives. It's sad, but it happens I would never think of doing that, but I know I couldn't handle the stress of a bully. I know I don't want Colten to be bullied, especially for just being friends with me, or more than friends. I just would like a sign, whether or not he likes me like that. The bell rang, and it snapped me out of my thoughts. I started making my way to homeroom, and noticed a group of girls behind me. I turned around, and they all just started giggling. Sort of annoying really, nothing like Colten's giggle. The worst part about it, the group of girls all have home room with me. So a chance to be annoyed got even greater. I sat in my seat, wondering what the girls were giggling about. The only things I know about these three girls are their names. The one that seemed to be the leader of the group is named Marisa, and her two cronies, Kaitlin, and Jacky. Every time I looked up, I saw them staring at me, then they looked at each other, and started whispering. Thankfully the bell rang, time for first period. Hooray, I love school. Just in case you didn't notice, that was sarcasm. The next few classes went by fast and finally it was lunch time. I'm more excited than I have been before to get to the lunch room. As I walked towards the lunch room, guess who was behind me? Marisa, Kaitlin, and Jacky, I think they were following me. We all do have the same lunch, but with what went on in home room, I would not be shocked if they were following. I just want to know what they are talking about, since it obviously involves me. I started to panic a little bit, thinking about what they might be saying. Do they know I'm gay? How did they find out? Was I flirting with Colten, was it obvious that I liked him. My heart started racing, next thing I knew, Kaitlin, and Jacky were right next to me. "Jacky has a question for you", Kaitlin said snapping me out of my thoughts. "What?" I asked in a panic tone. "Do you have a girlfriend?" Jacky asked boldly. "Oh, uh, no, I don't", I said with a sigh of relief. Wait, I know where this is going. Not to be vain, but since I don't have a sticker on my back that says `gay boy', some girl was bound to like me. All three girls are cute, but nowhere near cute as Colten. Any straight boy would like to have this conversation with any of these three girls. But how should I respond? I obviously can't date any of these girls. I can't refuse without drawing suspicion to me. These three girls were popular, and are used to boys bending over backwards for them. "Marisa has a crush on you", Kaitlin said into my ear softly. "That's, uh, nice", I replied meekly. Something came over me, and I just ran off. Once I got to the lunch room, and got my lunch, I found Colten sitting at the table we picked out. Out of breath from running, I sat down directly across from him, and panted a few times. "From the panting I hear, someone was afraid they were going to run out of food", Colten said chuckling. "Well, that's not it", I said softly. "What's got into you Joey?" He asked sincerely. "Well, um, Kaitlin told me, Marisa has crush on me." I replied, diverting my eyes to my food. "She is nice, and pretty, but I don't like her like that. I like someone else, and can't get the courage to say anything." I blurted out quickly. I don't know why I said that last part. I have put my foot in my mouth, yet again. "That's a first, most the boys here would kill for her to say that to them." He said back to me. "So, who is it you like then?" Colten questioned me. My heart at this point is going a million miles per hour. If I was hooked up to the machines in the hospital, I would have a dozen nurses, and doctors running to me frantically thinking I was having a heart attack, or something. What should I say? The whole, "The truth shall set you free", sounds great in theory, but not in my reality. Colten is my first real friend since moving here, and I don't want to scare him away. But if he isn't gay, and is a true friend, he would accept me for who I am, right? This was the point where two angels would appear on my shoulders. They would be Colten of course, one in red on the right, and one in white on the left. Both yelling at me, one saying, lie, the other saying, tell him the truth. At this point, I was sweating like crazy, and started to tremble slightly. Colten reached out his hand, and placed his on top of my left hand and said, "Don't worry, I won't think of you any less, whom ever it is you like, you will still be my friend." "You", I said with the shaky voice. Colten froze, and didn't say anything, but didn't take his hand off mine. Not till Marisa, Kaitlin, and Jacky sat down at our table. Once they sat down, I stood up and ran out the lunch room. I ran down the hall way, and opened the door to the side of the school, and got a breath of air. I was having trouble breathing, I was so scared, and somewhat relieved. I finally told someone, not just anyone, but Colten. I put my hands on my head and paced back and forth for a while, trying to get the strength to return to the lunch room. I knew I had to talk to him, but his reaction didn't seem very good. I finally walked back into the lunch room, but Colten was not there. I looked at Marisa and asked, "Where did Colten go?" "Looking for you, he seemed worried about you. What happened?" Marisa asked. "Which way did he go?" I asked ignoring her question. She pointed her hand towards the direction I ran off in earlier. It wasn't long till I checked the bathroom down the hallway I took off into. I opened the door, and saw Colten just staring at me. He was sitting against the wall, with his knees up to his chest, and his arms around his legs. "Colten, can we talk?" I asked. He just nodded his head. I sat down right next to him on the wall, and then turned to look at him. Colten leaned up against me putting his head on my shoulder. Finally Colten spoke. "I've been having these feelings for a while, and I wasn't sure why I felt them. I try to hide them the best I can. I thought I had them all under control, but then I met you. It's something I'm struggling with, and I'm scared to even say it to myself. But, Joey, I think I'm gay." he said, with a tear coming down his face. I placed my arm around him, pulling him into a hug. Colten embraced my hug and started to cry. "You, "I said into his ear, "That was the hardest word for me to say." "We can get through this together Colten, I'm scared to say it too, and the thought of telling others horrifies me," I said. Colten leaned towards me, and gave me a hug. "Thanks Joey. We'd better get back to the lunch room before they send the hounds in for us." He said with a chuckle, clearing the tears from his face. Once we were back to the lunch room, we found our table, and Marisa, Kaitlin and Jacky were gone. They were probably looking for us. It wasn't long after we sat down that the bell rang. We gave each other smiles and agreed to meet out front after school. As much as I wanted to kiss him, I couldn't, as neither of us were ready to be publicly out. I was already scared of what Marisa and her friends thought of me, and hopefully they didn't hear any of my and Colten's conversation at lunch. If they did, it wouldn't be long till the whole school knew there were two gay boys there. The rest of the school day seemed like it took forever to pass, and it's only Thursday. I still have one more day to get through till the weekend. Finally the bell rang, and school was out for the day. I ran to my locker and grabbed my backpack, and the books I would need for homework, and darted for the school's front door. I looked around for Colten, and couldn't find him. I was starting to worry that he had had second thoughts. Then his voice from behind me reassured me. "Hey," Colten said walking towards me, "I got a note that my mom is running a little late, and it will be 15 minutes before she gets here." "An extra 15 minutes won't kill us," I replied. "So, you want to hang out at my place?" I asked biting my lower lip. "Of course I do, I do like how nervous you get still," he said giving me a wink. We sat right next to each other on the grass waiting for his mom to arrive. So close to each other that we could feel the each other's bare skin. It was nice, but it was all we could do, so we wouldn't arouse any un-needed attention. "Over there," a voice from behind us yelled, "Marisa, he's right there!" I thought to myself, "Oh Shit." I am not prepared to deal with them right now. After the day Colten and I had, I wasn't sure how to react to them. I'm not ashamed of him, but we both agreed not to tell others about us. What's the worst that would happen? Oh yeah everyone finds out, and my parents over react, forcing Colten and I to never see each other, and I get shipped off to a pray the gay away camp. I don't think my parents would ever do that, but I did say "worst that would happened." I know the more these girls talk to me, the harder it will be to keep our secret. "Hey Joey, are you okay? "Marisa asked. "Yah, I'm fine, my stomach is just a little upset." I replied. Not a complete lie, I did feel my stomach go inside-out after I told Colten how I felt. "Joey, did you ever find Colten?" she asked. "Yup," I replied to her with a nod, "I am sitting right next to him." I added sarcastically. "Okay, I was wondering if you had any plans for Saturday?" Marisa asked. "Well, I, uh, no." I stammered. "Great, meet me here, and we will hang out", she said handing me a folded piece of paper, and then ran back to her friends. Great, I was hoping to spend the weekend with Colten. Not Marisa, she is the last person I want to spend a Saturday with. I mean, what if she wants to try something, even a kiss is not appealing to me. That wouldn't help matters, how would I explain that I don't want to do anything? Any straight guy here would kill for an opportunity like this. I unfolded her note, and all that was written down was what I assume was her address, and "My parents will be out of the house." That's not a good sign. I am not sure what to do, I can't show up and say "Hey, I'm gay!" I definitely won't try anything with her. I looked over at Colten, and his head was buried in his knees. "What's wrong?" I asked him. "If you would rather spend time with her I understand," Colten said, "but now I feel weird for everything I said in the bathroom." "I would much rather spend all weekend with you," I said, "I will find a way out of this, I promise!" I said putting my arm around his shoulder. I didn't care if it looked "gay", I was comforting him. Since we were opening up to each other, it only seemed appropriate, right? Anyway, with him saying how he felt, it only shows he has feelings for me, and that makes me feel invincible. I don't know if this is love, but it sure feels like what they say love is. It seems he feels the same way. I looked around the parking lot, noticing that it was mostly empty, and no one was looking out way, and quickly gave Colten a kiss on the cheek. Before Colten could respond, his mom pulled up. We both got in the back seat of her car. His mom just looked back at us and smiled. "How was your day boys?" she asked. "Good," Colten and I replied at the same time. "Mom, can I hang out with Joey at his place?" Colten asked. "Sure sweetie, as long as it's okay with Joey's parents," she said. "My parents won't mind, as long as we don't tear up the house," I replied. "Man, I should call the strippers, and hundreds of people and tell them not to come then," Colten said sarcastically. We all chuckled at his comment. It wasn't long after that we pulled up to my place. We both got out of his mom's car, and walked towards my door. Then from behind us his mom said, "You boys behave." "We will," Colten replied to her. I unlocked my front door, and continued inside. We made our way to my room, of course. I shut my door, and as I turned around, Colten gave me a big kiss. We continue kissing making our way to my bed, and we lay down on the bed. Colten got on top of me, while we continued our kiss. I could feel his tongue probing my lips, and I eagerly accepted it, returning the favor with mine. My hands started to move up and down his back, as he wrapped his around my neck. Then he broke the kiss, and placed his hands on both sides of my head so he could prop himself up on top of me. So he could say, "I wanted to do that all day." "I hope it was okay, I don't want to do anything you don't want to." Colten added. "I've seen enough porn to know what I want to try" I said in a post kiss haze. "Did I just say that out loud?" I asked, as my face turned red. Colten just laughed, and said, "You dirty boy," with a sly look on his face. "What ever will you do with me?" I asked with a sly grin. "This," Colten said, leaning down and starting to kiss me again. I could feel his hand work its way under my shirt. His hand wandered up and down my chest. He put his fingers in the waist band of my shorts, and hooked into my briefs and pulled up on them, and let go snapping my stomach. I let out a slight moan, and he took that as a signal to do it again. My hands started to wander too. Since he was on top of me, my hand found a comfortable spot on his perky bubble butt. We broke our kiss, and just looked into each other's eyes for a moment. I broke the silence "That was incredible." "I know, I was there," Colten said with a smile. He stood up and sat on my groin, which is obviously harder than a rock, and he took his shirt off, and I did the same, tossing them across the room. "I knew you liked me, but now I know how much," he said with a grin rocking back and forth on my groin. All I could do was let out a groan, and as I did his face met mine. We started making out, rolling around a bit switching who was on top. It was at the point where I was on top, and we were going at it like some horny teenagers. Before I could react, my door opened, and I heard, "Joey I'm home, my boss let me off early!" End of Part 3 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope formating the beging of each sentance helps readers. It helped me when writing the story, sadly when I turned it into a txt file I lost all my formating. So I just spent 20 minutes, looking for the begining of a paragraph and hitting tab. I hope if helps. Sorry for the cliff hangeragain. The more I write, the more I like using them. It helps me creativly, gives me options :).
