The High School Years
(Tween to Teen)
By: Kewl Dad

Chapter Thirty Five

Graduation and stuff

The next few months passed quickly, and before we knew it the school year was coming to an end. As promised Johnny helped with the decorations for the Junior-Senior prom, and I volunteered my services as well. Becky turned out to be a really nice girl, and through her we met her boyfriend Anthony, and he seemed pretty nice too.

The theme that year was Island Paradise and with Johnny's help the art department had transformed the gym into just that. With huge potted palms loaned to us from a local nursery, and giant murals depicting the ocean and sand, and grass huts, all the place needed was sand, and they even thought of that. At each end of the gymnasium they had laid down tarps and built a framework of 2x4's and filled them with sand.

Strings of lights from one side of the bleachers to the other hung down, casting a soft glow on the floor below and the soft sounds of the ocean washing up on the beach played over the sound system.

"Oh wow, Johnny, this looks even better than I thought it would," I said as we checked things out.

"Yeah, it did turn out pretty good," he said looking around and beaming.

"Too bad we won't be able to come together," I said sadly.

"Yeah, well...one more year of playing the game then we're off to college and we can be who we really are."

"You think so? Do you really think the kids at college will be more accepting?"

"Yeah, Caleb says there are lots of gays there, and there's even a sort of club on campus. I think by the time kids get to college they begin to think for themselves, and away from the influence of their families they can see things more clearly."

"I hope so, but that doesn't make it any easier to see you with a girl tonight."

"Hey, you're gonna be with a girl too. We agreed we'd do this to take the heat off of us. Are you having second thoughts?"

"Naw, you're right. It's the smart thing to do. My mom and dad have to be wondering why we don't date girls, and maybe this will satisfy them. Not to mention the guys at school."

"Yeah, Shirley is safe for me, and Myra is safe for you," he chuckled, "They just want to be able to go to the prom and have a good time. There's no worries that they will want more than that."

"Yeah, Myra is really neat. I think she might have guessed that you and I are more than just best friends. Remember at that dance at the PYO, she danced with both of us and that made things a lot easier."

"Yeah, and Shirley is a nice girl too, and I think it's sad that no one asked her to the Prom. So what if she's not movie star beautiful and wears glasses? I think she's cute myself."

"Now don't go falling for her," I teased, "Too bad Evelyn is still dating Rodney or one of us could have asked her."

"Rodney is a cool cat," Johnny chuckled, "I still want to dance with Evelyn, think he'll mind?"

"Naw, he's cool with us being friends and all. He doesn't have a jealous bone in his body. Not that he needs to, Evelyn worships the ground that boy walks on."

"Think they've done the deed?"

"Of course," I sniggered, "Evelyn is one very passionate girl. I'm sure she lost her virginity shortly after they started dating regularly."

"Yeah, I think you're right," Johnny said adjusting one of the lights to suit him, "Just think, next year this will be our Senior Prom."

"Yeah, kind of sad thinking about it, but as long as I have you with me, I don't care what happens or where I wind up."

"Thanks, I feel the same way too. Come on, let's get out of here and go back to my house and hang out till it's time to pick up our dates."

We ate a snack at Johnny's, then sat around in his room and talked, but we didn't get physical beyond holding hands and the occasional kiss. I think we were both nervous about tonight and the thought of having dates to deal with. I knew Myra wouldn't put any pressure on me, but it was still weird to think about having a date with a girl.

We wore slacks and starched shirts with ties, and our best black oxfords, and Johnny's mom said we looked like real gentleman and insisted on taking our pictures. I knew my mom would want one too, and I asked Mrs. Williams to be sure to have two sets of prints made.

We grabbed the corsages our mom's had picked out for our dates and headed out to go pick up the girls around 6:30. The prom started at 7, but we knew things wouldn't pick up till around 7:30 or 8, so we were in no hurry.

Shirley lived on the North side in a nice single story house with white siding but Myra lived on a farm just outside of town. We picked Shirley up first, and I gave her my seat up front and climbed into the back.

Shirley was about an inch shorter than Johnny, with long dark hair and brown eyes. She was a pretty girl, but the glasses she wore sort of took away from her good looks. This was way before contact lenses, so there really wasn't any alternative back then. Her body was curvy in all the right places and her breasts were small, but perky, and I knew a lot of guys would have been turned on by her.

"Thank you so much for asking me," Shirley gushed as we headed out to pick up Myra.

"Thank you for agreeing to go with me," Johnny said smiling, "I'm just glad I got to you before all the other boys did."

"Well, to tell you the truth, I was sort of worried that no one would ask me at all," she said shyly.

"Why? You're a very pretty girl," Johnny said smiling even broader, "and you have a very sweet personality. I've enjoyed having art class with you this year."

"Thanks," she said sounding as if she might be blushing a bit, "I've enjoyed it too."

"I agree with Johnny," I said from behind her, "someone would have asked you if Johnny hadn't beaten them to the punch."

"Oh, you guys..." she laughed, "Thank you for that. So, where does Myra live?"

"It's not far, just outside of town. Her dad has a little farm there."

We chatted about school, and the prom, and our plans for the future, and we learned that Shirley would be going to OSU in Norman when she graduated next spring. She had an aunt who lived there and was going to stay with her while she attended school.

"We're going to NSU," I said proudly, "and share an apartment with our friend Caleb who is already there."

"That's nice," she said turning to smile at me, "You guys are really good friends, aren't you?"

"More like brothers," I said, well brothers that have sex, I thought, "We've known each other forever, and our folks are really close too."

"That's so wonderful. Denise and I are like that, Denise Frasier. I am going to miss her so much when I go off to school."

"Denise is a nice girl," Johnny noted, "Isn't she dating Tommy Fuller?"

"Yes, they'll be there tonight. Originally I was going to go with them...and then, well...Johnny asked me, and I had a date of my own."

"That's neat, that you guys are so close," I added, "best friends are worth the world."

"Yes, you guys have a lot of friends, don't you?"

"Well, I don't know if you'd say we have a lot of friends, but the ones we have are really special. I've known Donnie as long as I've known Johnny, and even though the rest of our friends are pretty new, they're close too."

"I think Gerald is very handsome," she said blushing, and I smiled. So, Shirley liked Gerald. Well, after the prom maybe I could hook them up.

"Gerald is a nice guy. A little rough around the edges, but a really nice guy. I bet you two would hit it off really well," Johnny interjected, "want us to hook you up with him?"

"Oh Johnny," she said blushing and slapping him on the arm, "That wouldn't seem right since I'm your date tonight."

For about two seconds I was worried that maybe Shirley wanted more out of Johnny than a date to the prom, then she added, "But I wouldn't mind meeting him if you think he'd be okay with it."

I smiled with relief, "I think you and Gerald would get along just fine, and yeah...he'd be okay with it."

We arrived at Myra's place then, and I went inside to retrieve my date. She met me at the door, dressed in a pretty lavender dress, and her folks were hanging in the background, I guessed to see what sort of boy was carting their darling daughter away.

The corsage my mom picked out matched Myra's dress perfectly, since my mom had called her mom, and found out what she was wearing in advance. I was too nervous and clumsy to pin it on, but fortunately her mom stepped in and did the deed.

"You kids have a nice time," her mother said as she grabbed her camera, "Let me get a picture of you two. This is a very important time for both of you, the Junior-Senior prom is something you will remember forever."

After posing for a couple of pictures we said our goodbyes, but before we could get away Myra's dad asked if he could have a moment in private with me.

Uh oh, I thought. Here comes the, if you mess with my daughter I'll kill you speech, but it was nothing like that. We stepped out onto the porch and he offered his hand, and I took it reluctantly, wondering if he would try to squeeze it to a pulp.

"Robert, I know your dad, and I know Johnny's dad, and I know you are both fine young men. I know I don't have to tell you to behave, because I know you will. I'm just happy that Myra has found a young man to go to the prom with who will make it a special time for her. If you kids want to go out for a malt or something after the prom that's fine. Just have her home by midnight, okay?"

"Yes sir," I said smiling with relief, "and thank you for trusting me with your daughter."

"You're welcome son, now...you kids better get on the road," he said laying a hand on my shoulder and leading me back inside.

Myra was grinning, I guess she knew her dad pretty well, and didn't say anything till we got in the Bug Bus."

"Did daddy read you the riot act Robert?"

"No, why? Did he need to?" I said grinning.

"No, of course not, and they both know it. When I told mommy and daddy who was taking me to the prom my dad said, Hallelujah," she laughed.

"Well, I don't know how to take that," I said feigning hurt, "Maybe I should try to be more of a bad boy from now on."

Johnny laughed, "You, a bad boy? Really, that's more my style."

"Not lately," I said, not adding, not since I tamed you, "You're pretty boring too."

"You're not boring, boys," Myra assured us, "you're just nice boys who treat others with respect and that's what's important."

"Yes, I agree," Shirley added.

Soon the two girls were talking each other up about, well the things girls like, and I sort of tuned them out. By the time we arrived at the school I was ready for some punch and snack food.

My mom was a chaperon that year and she had brought three dozen cupcakes and two dozen brownies to add to the mountain of food and snacks that were laid out.

As always, someone tried to spike the punch, but Coach Vanzant caught the culprit and confiscated his bottle, but didn't kick him out. After all he was once a kid himself, and had probably tried the same thing, truth be known.

Everyone was crazy about the decorations, and Johnny and the art club got a lot of compliments. Everyone knew by now that Johnny was very talented and that there were big things ahead for him, but this was something they could understand and appreciate.

After downing some snacks and some punch we led the girls out onto the dance floor and soon a number of other couples joined us, including Becky and her boyfriend Anthony.

We danced a few fast numbers but when the music slowed down we made our way back to the sidelines to let the lovers have the floor. Becky and Anthony stayed, as well as Evelyn and Rodney, and a few other kids we knew were committed couples.

"I wish we'd known Shirley had the hots for Gerald," Johnny said when we excused ourselves to the bathroom, "He could have brought her and I could have found someone else."

"Pretty sure of yourself, aren't you?" I teased, "but yeah, it would have been nice. I feel bad that the rest of our friends aren't here, but I swear they are gonna' be at the prom next year if I have to find them dates on my own."

"Yeah, well...I'm sure they'll feel differently about next year. It will be the final one for us," he sighed.

"I'm having a good time, how bout' you?" I asked as we zipped up and went over to the sinks.

"Yeah, but...you know," he said looking toward the door, "I can't help thinking about what comes later at my house," he said raising his eyebrows.

"Oh god, don't remind me or I'll pop a boner for sure, and Myra will take back all that nice boy stuff," I laughed.

"Naw, I think it's sort of a compliment...when a guy finds a gal hot enough to pitch wood."

"You're crazy.  I bet most girls would take off running."

"Why do you say that? Don't you think girls want sex too?"

"Well...some do I guess, but they're more...I don't know, civilized about it."

"Civilized?" he laughed, "Boy have you got a lot to learn. Come on let's get back before someone steals our dates."

When we got back, sure enough Myra was dancing with Pete Williams, but Shirley was right where we left her.

"Just in time," Johnny said, "one minute later and Shirley would be out there in another boy's arms," he teased, "too bad Robert, looks like you lost your date."

"Oh she'll be back," Shirley giggled, "but Pete is a nice looking boy."

Wow, did Shirley have the hots for half the boys in school? Maybe Johnny was right, maybe girls did want sex as much as boys. Maybe Gerald would get lucky if we introduced the two.

Myra eventually wandered back, and Pete joined some other stag boys at the edge of the gym near the sand piles.

"She's back," I said grabbing her and pretending to hold on for dear life, "no more bathroom breaks for us Johnny," I teased.

"Oh poo, I came with you, I'll leave with you. I just wanted to give some of the boys without dates a chance to show they can dance."

"That's really nice of you," I offered, "I seem to remember you doing that for me and Johnny back at the PYO dance that night."

"I had my reasons," she said mysteriously, and I was pretty sure I knew what they were.

"Shirley, feel free to dance with any boy you want," Johnny said suddenly, "What Myra said makes sense, and if you want to help the wallflowers out, that's fine by me."

"Wallflowers?" I laughed, "Next you'll be calling them old maids or something."

"They're just boys, who for whatever reason couldn't get up the nerve to ask a girl to the dance, but I'll bet you most girls would have said yes," Myra offered.

"I would have," Shirley said, then blushed, "but I got the best boy after all."

"Thank you ma'am," Johnny said in a hillbilly accent, "care to cut the rug with me again?" he said offering his arm.

When they were gone, Myra asked me to get her some punch and on my way back I ran into Evelyn and Rodney.

"Hi guys, having fun?" I asked grinning, "Have you found a dark place to sneak away and neck yet?"

"The teacher's lounge is unlocked," Rodney said grinning, "Where's Johnny?"

"Out on the floor with Shirley. I'm fetching Myra some punch," I said holding up two paper cups of the watery stuff.

"Come on let's go say hi," Evelyn said grabbing Rodney's arm and leading both of us back to Myra.

The girls immediately zoned us out and began talking girl talk, and so Rodney and I were left to our own awkward conversation. Rodney was a nice guy, but I really didn't know him as well as I did my other friends. We'd played together as kids, all of us had, but we'd drifted apart for whatever reason, and only since he and Evelyn had become a couple had we reconnected.

"So, are you going to college when you graduate next year?" I asked after a while.

"Naw, I guess I'll go to work at the plant where my dad works. It pays good, and my dad says it's easy work."

"Nothing wrong with that," I said, "Are you two planning on getting married or anything?" I added grinning.

"We're still pretty young, and we're just taking it one day at a time. I'm not ruling it out, I think Evy is really sweet, but marriage is a big step."

"Yeah, you've got plenty of time to figure things out. Is Evelyn going to college?" I asked, realizing I'd never talked with her concerning her plans after high school.

"She wants to, but it depends on whether her grandparents want to pay for it."

Evelyn and Chrissy lived with their grandparents for some reason that had never been discussed with us, although I knew both girls had moms that they sometimes visited. Their grandpa had been a barber at one time, but was retired now, as was their grandmother who had been a nurse.

I nodded, "Well, I guess Johnny and I are pretty lucky that our folks can afford for us to go. We're going to go to NSU and share an apartment with Caleb."

"Oh, yeah? That's neat, I remember him. He's from California, right?"

"Yeah, and he lived with his grandma and grandpa. His grandpa died a while back and his grandmother and him moved to Pryor over by the big park."

"He's older, right?"

"Yeah, he started school there last fall. He really likes it. He says the town is neat too, and the people are really cool."

"That's good. So I guess Johnny is going to study art there?"

"We're both going to get our teaching degree as a fall back, but yeah...Johnny wants to continue to paint and I want to write."

"Wow, a writer and an artist. That's so cool, but then you guys have always been cool. I remember when we used to hang out with the girls," he said smiling, "when Johnny lived over there by the school."

"Yeah, seems like a million years ago," I sighed, "time sure has passed by fast."

"Yeah, one more year and it's time to join the real world."

"Yeah, sometimes I wish I was 12 again," I confessed.

"Yeah, me too, but being 17 ain't so bad either."

Shirley and Johnny returned about then, and with them was Shirley's friend Denise and her boyfriend Tommy. Tommy had been on the football team with Johnny, and though they weren't close, they got along just fine.

We raided the food table again and chatted up my mom, danced with our dates for awhile, then while Shirley and Myra danced with some of the single boys, Johnny and I decided to do the same with the girls.

It was worth it seeing the smiles on the girls' faces as they sashayed across the floor and got the opportunity to show off their formals. As we rejoined our dates by the food table I had a warm feeling inside, knowing we had made a difference in those girls lives and helped them make some memories to last a lifetime.

As the evening wound down the king and queen were named and they danced the first slow dance, then everyone joined in. Holding Myra was nice, but I couldn't help but wish it was Johnny I was holding as we swayed to the music.

"You two are more than friends, aren't you?" Myra whispered into my ear.

I was alarmed at first, but when I pulled back and saw the look in her eyes I knew it was okay. After all, I'd suspected that she knew and had for a while.

I simply nodded, not admitting anything, but accepting that she knew and was cool with it.

"That's why I danced with you both at PYO that night," she said softly looking into my eyes.

"Are we that obvious?" I worried.

"No, but a girl sees things that a boy doesn't. I can see the love in your eyes and in the way you treat each other. I know some people think that's bad, but really, how can love be bad? I know you had to keep your secret here in this small town, but I hope someday you can be open about your love and that people will accept that."

"Our friend Caleb says it's different at college, that there is even a gay group on campus."

"I've heard that, after all it's the 70's, it's about time people came out of the dark ages," she chuckled.

Little did she know that the sexual revolution was on the horizon, and though it would take almost two decades to make any real strides, the seeds were being planted on college campuses and gay bars around the country.

Finally the prom came to an end and as people began to filter off, some on their way to after prom parties, and others to lover's lane, we said our goodbyes to our friends, teachers, and of course my mom, then headed to the Bug Bus.

"I had a wonderful time," Shirley gushed, "thank you so much for asking me to the prom Johnny."

"I had a great time too, thank you for accepting."

"Yes, thank you too Robert, I will never forget tonight," she said smiling and taking my hand. Then winking she squeezed it tight before letting it go.

We chatted excitedly about the evening and the fun we'd had as we headed to Shirley's house, and when we got there Johnny walked her to the door, then while Myra and I watched with smiles on our faces, Shirley kissed Johnny on the cheek then rushed inside.

"That was really nice of Johnny to invite Shirley. She is floating on cloud nine now."

"Yeah, but she really wants to get to know Gerald," I chuckled, "We're going to hook them up and see how that goes when we get a chance."

"That's wonderful. You boys are so sweet and you deserve each other. I'm glad I've gotten to know you these last few years. It has helped to open my eyes to things around me."

"OH, uh, what do you mean?"

She chuckled, "I know more than you think I do. I know Johnny and you aren't the only boys who like boys."

"OH man," I groaned.

Johnny returned then and I just couldn't help but rib him about the kiss.

"Well, how was it?"

"What?" he asked playing dumb.

"The kiss," I grinned.

"Oh, that," he said blushing, "It was nice. Shirley is a nice girl."

"And if you didn't already have someone you might go for her?" I joked.

"Robert!" Johnny warned.

"It's cool Johnny, Myra knows."

"What? How? When?" Johnny sputtered.

"Relax Johnny, your secret is safe with me. I just happen to be more observant than most kids I guess. Plus I have a cousin who is gay. He lives in New York and things are more open there, but only his closest friends and family know."

"And what do your folks think about that?" I wondered.

"Oh, it took some getting used to, but they've known Kenny forever and it's hard not to love him. To see him you'd never know...sort of like you guys, but when he's with his boyfriend Jerry his eyes light up and he's so different."

"Is that why you figured us out, cause you noticed how your cousin acted?" Johnny wondered.

"That was part of it. I knew what to look for, but there were other signs...like the fact that you boys never seemed to be girl crazy like the rest of the boys at school. In fact except for Johnny dating Evelyn, I can't remember either of you showing any interest in a girl."

"Damn," Johnny swore as we headed out Highway 20 toward Myra's farm, "Maybe we should start dating more. We don't have to date just one girl, we could play the field and throw everyone off balance."

"You think any girls would be interested in us?" I asked grinning.

"Oh, I can answer that one," Myra giggled, "lots of them think you two are about the two nicest boys in school, and anyone of them would gladly go out with you."

"But I don't want to risk hurting some girl just to protect our secret," I said frowning, "It wouldn't be fair to them."

"That's why you don't date the same girl twice," Johnny said, as if he knew all about such things.

"Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt. We could maybe go to a few dances at the PYO or the movies, maybe even double date like tonight."

"So we can keep an eye on each other," Johnny chuckled.

"Yeah, that too," I admitted, "What do you think Myra?"

"I think you should do whatever feels right for you and don't let what others think influence you. There's nothing wrong with dating just for fun. Most girls our age aren't ready to get serious anyway, but if it's uncomfortable then it will show, and it might take away from the fun for both of you."

"Being with you tonight was fun," I admitted, "but maybe it's because I didn't feel any pressure to...you know, do more than dance or talk," I said blushing.

Myra laughed, "Well, most girls I know wouldn't pressure you into anything, but they might want to kiss. We girls love kissing."

"So do we," Johnny said softly, and Myra laughed.

"I never thought about that, with you two, I mean. I bet it's just as sweet," she sighed, "When you love someone, kissing is very special."

"I agree," I said, "Well, Johnny I guess we have the whole summer to decide what to do."

"Yeah, anyway next year we'll be seniors and at the top of the totem pole, no one is gonna say too much to us if we're not dating regularly."

We arrived at Myra's then and as Johnny had done with Shirley, I walked her to the door.

"Thanks for a great time and for understanding," I said feeling shy and awkward all of a sudden.

"You are so welcome Robert. You're a sweet boy and I had a good time, and in a way it's nice that there are no expectations for anything more than what we shared."

"Yes, but I wonder if there wasn't someone, some other boy, that you might have liked to, ummm...get closer to."

"No, not really. I'm content to date occasionally and just hang out with my family and friends. This was perfect for me. Now, next year may be different. I do have my eye on someone, but so far we've only talked a few times."

"Well, if I can help, just let me know. Well, I guess I should let you get inside, it's getting close to midnight and I don't want your dad coming after me..." I laughed.

"Yes, well...goodnight," she said, then suddenly she was in my arms and kissing me on the lips.

I was shocked, but not repulsed. In fact kissing Myra was very nice, and a little arousing. When she pulled away I must've looked surprised, but I had a goofy grin on my face too.

"That was for being such a gentleman and for showing a girl a wonderful time. I hope Johnny won't be mad," she chuckled, "Goodnight, and tell Johnny I think he is one lucky guy."

"With that she turned and went inside. I stood on the porch for a moment thinking about how weird life was sometimes. I had gone on my first real date with a girl, but most of the night had been thinking about being with Johnny later, now I had received my first real kiss from a girl, and I found out it wasn't as bad as I'd feared.

Smiling, I made my way back to the Bug and climbed in front by Johnny.

"That was no peck on the cheek," Johnny chuckled, "I better watch her," he teased.

"Naw, it was just a friendly kiss, but I have to admit...it was nice."

"Oh, is she a better kisser than I am?" He said turning the Bug around, but stopping at the end of the drive leading out onto the road.

"No, of course not. It was nice, but there was no...you know? Love involved, just friendship."

"Okay, but maybe I should remind you of what a real kiss is like," he said leaning over and planting his lips on mine.

All thoughts of Myra's kiss flew out the window as our lips met and our tongues dueled in each others mouths. I went hard instantly, and at the moment I realized that this was what I wanted, no needed, craved even, the love and affection of the boy I loved.

When we finally broke the kiss I pushed my erection down, and with a flushed face I said, "Hurry, let's get to your house and into bed. I am going to show you just how much I love you."

"Mmm...sounds good," he said grinning, and as he dropped the Bug into gear he reached over and gave my erection a little squeeze, "Oh, is that for me."

"Only for you babe, only for you."

*********************************************

School was finally out and we had the whole summer ahead of us. As in years past we planned on making this year special, and I had come up with what I thought was the perfect idea for doing just that.

Tony had inspired me when he had said that someday he wanted to drive to the ocean, and I immediately began to work on my plan. Pulling out the big road Atlas my dad kept in the living room, I began to calculate the distance and the feasibility of my plan. I knew the Bug Bus was reliable, that it got great gas mileage, and best of all, it could easily accommodate all of us on the long trip.

Where to stay was a concern, since we were too young to rent motel rooms, but we had our tents, and if it rained we could always sleep in the Bug Bus, even though it might be a bit uncomfortable. There were camp grounds all along the way, and Johnny and I had enough money saved to pay for gas and food, and enough to take care of any of our friends who didn't.

First, I had to get Johnny to agree, which was no big problem, but I wasn't so sure about our parents. After all, the round trip would be over a thousand miles and we had never really gone farther than Tulsa since Johnny had gotten his license and the Bug Bus.

I was hoping that our folks would be impressed with all the planning we had done, and that they would consider us mature enough at 17 to make the trip alone.

One night at Johnny's I brought up my plan.

"Remember how Tony said he wanted to drive to Texas and see the ocean someday?"

"Yeah, I think that would be fun," he said as he lay beside me rubbing my belly and causing me to shiver a little.

"Well, ever since then I've been thinking..."

"Oh," he said, giving me his full attention.

"Yeah, you know every summer we do something special. Well, what if we all got in the Bus and drove to Galveston?"

Before he could reply I went on to tell him my plan and jumped up to retrieve the Atlas and show him the route I'd mapped out.

"I thought we could stop over in Tulsa and then spend the night at Lake Keystone, then camp out the next night at this campground in the Dallas-Fort Worth area," I said pointing at the map. Then the next morning we can drive straight through to Galveston and be there in plenty of time to see the ocean and look around. There are campgrounds there too, and all it will cost us is a small camping fee."

"Well, I see you've given this a lot of thought and work," he chuckled, but it's not me you need to convince. You know I'd do anything and go anywhere with you. It's our folks you need to convince, and maybe our friends' folks. Not to mention the people at Whitaker. I'm not sure they'll let Tony go."

"I got that covered too. I don't want you to think I been sneaking around behind your back, but...I talked to Caleb about this first and we worked out a little deal with Caleb's granny."

"What did you work out?" Johnny said, looking amused.

"Well, since Caleb is away at school his granny has been sort of lonely and..."

"What? No way, she's going to adopt Tony?" Johnny said looking excited.

"Well, not exactly, but she has offered to let him stay there. Since he's 17 he is free to leave the home by just having someone sign some papers saying they will help him till he gets on his feet."

"Wow. Wait, Tony is black, won't some folks have a fit over that?"

"We thought of that too. Caleb's granny says if folks don't like that they can move."

Johnny laughed, "Yeah, that sounds like her. So when does he move in with her?"

"In a week or so. Caleb is home now, and he's going to help him get settled and stuff."

"Wow, so Tony will be free to join us whenever he wants."

"Well, he still has to follow the rules Caleb's granny puts down, but you know how easy she has been with Caleb."

"Yeah, so now it seems like the only real problem is my folks, and your folks. I'm pretty sure the rest of the gang won't have any problem convincing their folks if ours approve the trip."

"That's what I think too. So, you like the idea then?"

"Like it? I love it. Come here baby," he said pulling me to him, "I think it's a great idea. Just think of all that hot nasty sex we can have in our tents."

"Oh God, you're getting me horny," I said tugging at my undies to relieve some of the pressure building there.

"Well, let me help you with that," he said reaching down to help me free my erection.

"Oh, it looks tasty," he said moving down to remove my underwear completely.

"Oh, shit, turn around, I want yours too," I said.

When he had moved into position, I took his cock in my mouth and felt up his ass as he began licking my balls. As many times as we'd had sex, each time just seemed better and better. I could only believe that it was because our love grew stronger with each passing day. One thing was sure, I wanted Johnny in my life forever, and I knew he felt the same.

With that in mind, we brought each other to a mind blowing orgasm, rested, and then made slow gentle love to each other way into the night.

                        End of Chapter 35

The Junior Senior Prom was a great success in many ways and the boys learned they have an ally in Myra. They have discussed occasionally dating to keep the heat off their romance, but neither is sure they want to go that route, and have decided to see what the new school year holds for them. In the meantime Robert has whipped up a plan to not only make the summer memorable, but to help Tony find a home, and fulfill one of his dreams. Now all that is left is convincing the parents.

Next, the trip.
