Chapter 19 Pt. 2

Nika: “Alright guys, goodnight Sash.”

Sasha: “Yah-yah, whatever. I got the best room!”

Nika: “See you a bit later than Cody, I'll be passed out by then though.”

Cody: “That's ok,” as Cody leaned down and kissed me hard on the lips, and he slipped his tongue into my mouth and we shared a long, and long overdue kiss. It felt like something lost was found again, and I couldn't wait for more. Even if I didn't know when that “more” would be, and even though we just totaly disgusted my little brother, as he pinched his nose with his fingers, with a disgusted look on his face, and said, “YUK, that's nasty you two!”

Anyway, they both left the room, as I drifted back off to sleep with Tanner, along with his future, firmly wrapped in my arms!

I awoke the next morning on my back, with Cody passed out cold. His head was on my chest as he was snoring and drooling again....right onto my left nipple. I turned the other way, and Tanner was still cuddled up on the other side of me with his hand gently stroking my cheek. He said, “Morning Nika.”

I replied, “Good morning Tanner, what time is it?”

Tanner: “It's bout 7:30 or so.”

Nika: “How you feeling this mornin Barbie?”

Tanner: Awesome Nika! You should be too, we slept a hella-long time.”

Nika: “Yah we did, what time did drool-boy show up?”

Tanner: “Bout one I guess.”

Nika: “They made it all the way to one....huh?”

Tanner: “Yah, I heard them all coming up the stairs. They woke me up, but it's probably cause I hadta pee anyway.”

Nika: “Shit, I didn't hear a thing.”

Tanner: “I'm surprised, they were pretty buzzed.”

Nika: “Buzzed, are you sure?”

Tanner: “Oh yah, they were all drinking beer downstairs and watching some movies or somethin. They kept yelling “Cochise! Whatever the fuck that is?”

Nika: “It's an Apache War-Chief. They're watchin High Chaparral again with Buck.”

Nika: “Did you talk to them?”

Tanner: “Naw, just Cody for a minute. He was laughing and getting undressed after everyone else went to bed. So I got up to go pee, and we spoke for a minute before I went out to the bathroom.”

Nika: “What did you guys talk about?”

Tanner: “Haha, well, we were both naked, so he turned and saw me and was surprised. So I said hi. Then he said hi, as he wobbled a little. So I told him he had a big one, haha. And he told me my little blond hairs looked cute. That was about it.”

Nika: “What then?”

Tanner: “I said I was going to the bathroom, and would be right back, and he said he'd wait for me.....although I don't exactly know why.”

Nika: “Did he?”

Tanner: “I guess not, he was sound asleep laying with his head on your chest when I got back. So I slipped under the covers right where I was before, on the other side of you, and went back to sleep.”

Nika: “How do you know he was asleep?”

Tanner: “Cause of the humming sound he was making when he was breathing. It was almost like a wheeze. Oh, and he had his hand on your dick.”

Nika: “How do you know that?”

Tanner: “Haha, cause I went to put my hand on it, and his was already there.”

Nika: “Interesting night to say the least. I assume he'll be out for quite a long time.”

Tanner: “Nika?”

Nika: “Yah Tanner, what's on your mind?”

Tanner: “Fear, is it always gonna be like this?”

Nika: “What Tanner, you mean being scared of things?”

Tanner: “Not things. But us Nika! You, me and Cody I mean. How we are, you know what I'm talking about.”

Nika: “Your talking about us, and being gay Tanner?”

Tanner: “Yah Nika, about us, and making it in the world. And people accepting us? Will it always be like this?”

Nika: “No, not forever Tanner. Maybe for us, but not for everyone, not forever.”

Tanner: “What do you mean not for us Nika?”

Nika: “I mean, maybe not in our lifetime Tanner. But it's a movement that's already grown and come too far to stop, so it's inevitable someday.”

Tanner: “How sad, is it really gonna take that long? Maybe it'll happen real fast? Or maybe it won't happen at all? I mean if it's just a movement. What we need is a revolution Nika.”

Nika: “Things happen in stages Tanner. The world is slow to change, people fear it. Some of them even fear us.”

Tanner: “But why? I mean I can't speak for myself, but you and Cody are beautiful Nika.”

Nika: “Ohhh, you're beautiful Tanner.”

Tanner: “Yah, I'm an overflowing caldron filled with the very cream of human kindness Nika....hahaha!”

Nika: “No Tanner, you're full a shit.......but you're beautiful!”

Tanner: “Fer real?”

Nika: “Make no doubt about it.....you're beautiful alright! And that's why it'll happen someday. For I have seen it in my thoughts and visions.....it's going to happen. Time heals all wounds, and time heals all wrongs Tanner.”

Tanner: “Yah, but so many suffer while we wait for it to happen. That's not right, we should be able to enjoy the world right now. Just like you say someone else will in the future, because they get to be around when the change occurs. It's like were getting cheated Nika! It's not fair. It's like we're alone.”

Nika: “We are all, alone Tanner. And life isn't fair. Is it fair that we enjoy more liberties and acceptance than those who lived in the time before ours? Is it fair that the people that live ahead of us, and will enjoy more than we do, will still enjoy less than those that come along after them? You're getting philosophical on me Tanner, do you understand enough to wanna go there right now?”

Tanner: “Yah, I think so, and if I don't, than you can go slow and explain it then!”

Nika: “Ok Tanner, one of us said it's a movement. I mean our way of life, our freedoms, and our rights. You understand that don't you?”

Tanner: “Yah, I guess so. But other movements happen, like our revolution with the British, and that happened fast, like a war, and then it was over and we had a country, and we we're all free of them......right?”

Nika: “Well, sorta Tanner. But it's not that simple.”

Tanner: “Why not, why isn't us being gay or bi, and wanting to be seen the same by everybody else as being equal and loved the same? And why can't it happen that fast like that war did?”

Nika: “Because a movement is not a war Tanner. And I'm afraid your confusing the two.” As Tanner looked off in the distance confused, hurting, and longing for an answer as to why he's different, and not seen as an equal in the eye's of the world. “Look Tanner, pay attention. It's not all bad news buddy. First, a movement is just that, a movement. It gains momentum, it gains steam, moves a little ways, and then stops. It's like a delay for the people behind the movement to catch their breath, before they rally everyone together again. And it's also a breather for the public, or world, or whomever that particular movement is aimed at, to take it all in. To maybe accept it, that it's arrived, here to stay. And it's somehow come, and to just accept the rational that maybe it's a good thing, and it's not gonna go away.”

Tanner: “Kinda give em a break, and time to accept what's happened so far?”

Nika: “Yah Tanner, so as not to force feed them too much at once, and turn them off to the whole idea.

Tanner: “But the war was militant Nika, and people died?”

Nika: “Yah Tanner, but your confusing a movement and a war. They are two completely different things altogether.”

Tanner: “So how do you distinguish which is which?”

Nika: “Oh boy, here we go. I knew this was gonna get complicated.”

Tanner: “Please Nika?”

Nika: “Ok Tanner. Any change in a society has to start with a difference in opinion. And once that occurs, hence you have a disagreement, or an argument. And when that happens you generally come to a compromise in most cases.”

Tanner: “Like me and the Sheriffs?”

Nika: “Don't go there Tanner!”

Tanner: “Ok, I guess not then.”

Nika: “Some arguments or disagreements cannot be resolved because the differences in the ideology are just too vast....too much of a delta.”

Tanner: “A what?”

Nika: “Never mind, just that the differences in opinions are too far apart Tanner.”

Tanner: “So, what then Nika?”

Nika: “Then, if your on the side feeling oppressed, and seeking the change, you do a lot of soul-searching. And decide if the fight ahead is just, and worth the effort involved in taking it on your shoulders.”

Tanner: “And if you think it is?”

Nika: “Then that's the beginning of a movement Tanner. That's when you start to spread your message and gather support from like minded people who understand and support your point of view. Or just relate, and maybe understand it, and are maybe sympathetic to your cause.”

Tanner: “What's the difference Nika?”

Nika: “Big difference Tanner. You didn't like those Sheriffs much.....did you?”

Tanner: “Not really, no.”

Nika: “Why?”

Tanner: “Because they never gave me much of a chance, or even payed attention, or listened to me.”

Nika: “Sooo, then you felt like you were being silenced?”

Tanner: “Yah, yah I guess so.”

Nika: “But you don't wanna get rid of the Sheriffs altogether....do you?”

Tanner: “No, no we need them. They protect people and do a good job for the most part I guess.”

Nika: “So then, you don't completely agree with everything they do, but your sympathetic towards their situation and understand they have a hard job and walk a fine line sometimes? In other words, you may disagree with them sometimes, but overall you recognize the need for them?”

Tanner: “Yah, I do. I get it now, even though the gay or bi movement is for gay's and bi's, you still seek the support of others that aren't, but understand or accept our right to be who we are, and our right to be heard?”

Nika: “Yah Tanner, just like every other movement out there. Weather it's abortion, gun control, immigration, or anything else. You seek out the support of those who think like you do. That's how you gain support, gain momentum, and get the movement rolling again.”
Tanner: “You have any example's of something your not involved with, but you support Nika?”

Nika: “No, not really. But I really wasn't prepared for this discussion anyway.”

Tanner: “To bad, just when it was getting fun, and I was starting to understand.”
