Since homosexuality among children is a taboo subject in our society, I have to issue all the usual warnings and disclaimers . If you're not 18, or if it is not legal for you to read something like this etc., then please leave this website immediately. This story is complete fiction and any resemblence to actual events or persons is coincidental. Now, on with the show... prologue The rain poured down in sheets as the car pulled up to the front of Louie Mack's Steakhouse. After parking in one of the spaces near the front, a man and a woman emerged with umbrellas in hand. They then ran to the front entrance through the torrential Florida rain, They plunged through the main entrance and into the immaculate lobby of the restaurant. The couple then hung up their coats and umbrellas on the coat rack and went to the maitre' d who sat behind the small station at the restaurant entrance. " Hello Sir and Madam. How may I assist you this evening?" "We have a reservation for two." The man said. "Your name please?" "Fitzgerald." He replied. "Ah yes, reservation for two. Please come this way." The Maitre 'd grabbed two menus and the couple followed him to a table in the back of the restaurant. Their table was in an elevated area right next to several large windows that looked out on a small lake. The rain battered against the window and the lightning illuminated the water. The Maitre'd gave the couple their menus, announced their waiter would be with them shortly, and retreated. "This is really nice, Don." Said Grace Simmons. "Thanks for asking me out to here." "I like this place a lot. I've been coming here for years." Don Fitzgerald replied. "I haven't really been able to see a lot of places since we moved here. I'm usually either at work or at home." She said. "Lakeland is a nice city. I've been living here for almost twenty years now." He said. "Where are you from originally again?" Grace asked. "Medina Ohio." He said. "I've never been to Ohio." She said. "You haven't missed anything." He said. A table runner came by and put a basket of warm bread on the table and quickly retreated. Don reached in and took out one of the rolls. "You're from Towson Maryland, right?" Don asked. "Yes. We moved here last August." Grace replied. Just then the waiter showed up and introduced himself. Don ordered a bottle of Merlot. "So what brought you to our little slice of paradise here?" Don asked as the waiter went to get the wine . "I'm here because one day, Professor Bill Welleham decided to shack up with one of his young and pretty graduate students. One day I'm carrying groceries into the house and Bill tells me he's having an affair and he's leaving and that our 16 year marriage is ending. Just like that. No warning, no big fight, no counseling, just over." "He's a professor at Towson University, right?" Don asked as he buttered his roll. "Right." She replied. "He teaches Russian History." The waiter came with the bottle of Merlot and two glasses. He uncorked the bottle and poured half a glass of wine for each. "Are you ready to order?" The waiter asked. "We'll have the Prime Rib Au Jus." Replied Don to the waiter. "It's the best anywhere." He said to Grace. The waiter took the menus and Don and Grace clinked their glasses in a toast. "Here's to new beginnings." He said. Grace took a sip of her wine. "So Don, what happened with your marriage, if I may ask?" Don took another sip off of his glass. "Sherry and I split because she wanted to live a rich, cushy, Republican life, and I just wanted to make enough of a living to be comfortable and raise our family and have a few beers and play my guitar. I opened up my print shop and I thought I was doing well, but she just wanted more and more and more. We started fighting all the time, even in front of the kids. It was awful. I couldn't make her understand that we just didn't need two BMW's and a boat. We had no debts, the print shop was making steady money, we were saving up for the kids college, we had a house, but none of that was good enough for her. Finally one night I just left. I had nothing but my clothes, my guitars, my car, and a hot plate. " "So it was over money." Grace said. "Money and general attitude towards life and priorities." Don replied as he drained his glass. "Now she's with this Gerald guy. He has all the money that she wants and she can now live in a big house and go out on a boat every weekend and so on and so on. Just like she always wanted. He doesn't care a lick about my kids though, which really bothers me, and he's something like twenty years older than her. It's a pitiful situation if you ask me." He then refilled his glass and refreshed Grace's. "When Bill left me, I really thought my life was over." She said. "I didn't think I could survive without him. I was so depressed and furious that I thought about killing myself, it was awful. I then thought about it, though, and one day I had this epiphany. I realized that he had never been about the marriage at all. He was always in school, or working, or immersed in his hobbies. He was never around. I practically raised my son by myself. He had all these annoying and inconsiderate habits that I had to deal with. I finally realized that I had no reason to beat myself up about anything and that it was pointless to dwell on the failure of a lousy marriage. So one day I applied for a transfer at work, went and grabbed Byron, and here we are." She raised her glass and took another big sip of wine. "And here you are." Said Don. "I could have either transfered to here or to Phoenix, but I chose here so that it would be easier for Byron to visit his dad once in awhile." "Well Byron is a great kid." Don replied. "We loved having him over last month." "Yes and Adam is such a good friend to him. Byron took the divorce really hard and he was an angry, lonely kid when we moved here. Adam took care of that pretty quickly after they met." "Adam's a really nice kid. I don't understand what his motivations are sometimes, but he has a good heart. Hopefully he got that from me." Don replied. "Well I hope he did too." Replied Grace as she took another sip of wine and gazed into his eyes... "Two Boys: A Love Story" Part II As I sat at my computer in my room I was startled by yet another blast of thunder. It had been six months since Mom and I had moved to Florida and I still couldn't believe how bad the storms were here. I returned to my screen and there was still no reply to my IM, so I sent out another one. BW482: Hey Madman, r u there? I waited a couple of minutes and then got up and went to the kitchen. I trudged to the refrigerator in my boxers and tshirt and got one of Mom's Diet Cokes out and returned to my room. When I returned I saw the reply on my screen that I had been hoping for. JCT6842: Hey Buyer. what r u doing up so late u naughty boy. BW482: i cant sleep with this godam storm! where have u been? JCT6842: i was watching a movie with the family. it sucked. BW482: hey can u call me? i know its late but my moms out on a date with some guy so its cool to call over here now. JCT6842: sorry cant do it. Geritol is running around and he would want to know why i wanted to use the phone and hes a bitch and i hate him and ARGHHHHHHHH!!! i wish that i lived with u. BW482: me 2. your still sleeping over tommorow, right? JCT6842: u bet! u know i wouldnt miss one of our sleepovers ;) BW482: what time r u going to be here? JCT6842: as early as i can get my mom to drop me off, hopefully by eleven or so. did u like the picture i drew for you? Adam would often give me drawings that he would do. Earlier that day in school he had given me a drawing of a sunrise over a forest. He had done it all in orange and green. He's actually a really good artist. One night when he was staying over he had gotten up to use the bathroom and when he came back, he did a pencil sketch of me while I was sleeping, using the computer monitor for light. I wondered why he wasn't in a school for gifted students. I saved all the drawings and doodles that he did for me and kept them all on a large bulletin board I had over my desk. After I get some money for my birthday in a couple months I'm planning on buying him a portfolio to keep all his art stuff in. BW482: i sure do. im looking at it on the bulletin board right now. JCT6842: where did u put it? BW482: on the bottom center. JCT6842: that sounds like a good place for it. i'll make sure tomorrow while i'm there. ;) BW482: i love u adam. JCT6842: i love u too. i'm crying now :( I teared up because I knew he really was. Ever since Adam and I had started, we had decided to keep our "thing", as we called it, a secret. When we were in school we acted like we were just a regular pair of school friends. We would eat lunch together and hang out at recess and we sat next to each other in class. We would take great pains to not show any kind of affection to each other, and it was very stressful for both of us. When I would see Adam in the morning I would get this joyful, giddy feeling that would last all day, then when we would leave in the afternoon I would get a sinking, depressed feeling. It took all of our self control not to hold hands or kiss each other in class. We tried to get together away from school as much as possible, but Adam had soccer and swimming and other friends. He also had to spend every other weekend with his dad. I got to stay over with him at his dad's one weekend. His dad was cool because he let us stay up super late and watch R rated movies on satellite. He also plays guitar and he showed me some chords while I was there. Nonetheless, the seperations were very painful for both of us. I sometimes got to see one of his soccer games on Saturdays, and we had baseball starting up next week, so at least we would see each other then. BW482: i just hope we get on the same baseball team. JCT6842:we probably won't, but it would be nice if we did. BW482: your bringing your bike with u tommorow, right? JCT6842: sure. we can go out on the swamp paths. As I was about to type a reply I heard the door opening and Mom coming in from the rain. BW482: SHIT GOTTA GO MOM JUST CAME IN SEE U TOMMOROW! JCT6842: OK SEE U BYE, MR.CAPS! I shut the computer off just as Adam's reply came through. I turned the monitor off and dove into bed just as Mom came in. "Byron William Welleham! Are you still up? It's after eleven!" She scolded from the doorway. "What about you ? Why are you home so late, this was just supposed to just be dinner with this guy, right?" I grinned. "Never you mind that." She said as she came in and sat on the edge of my bed. "So I guess you were talking to your friend Adam on the computer all night?" She said as she tucked me in. "Just a little." I said. "Well look, I want this place to be nice and presentable for him when he gets here tomorrow, ok?" She said. "You mean it's not now?" I asked. "No, it's not. " She said. "I want this room and the bathroom straightened up and I want your things out of the living room and put away, ok?" "Ok, geez..." I whined with a grin. Mom gave me a kiss, wished me good night, and closed my door behind her. I turned over and soon fell asleep. I got up early the next morning and did all the chores that Mom requested. I sat at my computer for a while to kill time before Adam arrived. Over the last six months I had gotten to know Adam very well, and I had decided that he was the nicest, funniest, smartest, coolest kid ever. He was extremely sensitive and emotional and he seemed almost like a mind reader sometimes. He is three months younger than me but is way more advanced in terms of knowledge of sex. He apparently had familiarized himself with the stash of porno dvd's and tapes his dad kept hidden. He also got away with watching Cinemax at both his house and at his dad's. We were once at the mall and Adam said he wanted to go to the bookstore. When we were in there he slipped off to the side and into the human sexuality section. there was a sex manual with illustrations that he looked through. He then slipped into the photography section and was looking through a book with pictures of naked men and boys in it. He told me afterwords that he did that every time he went to the mall. He had also told me that he had been sexual towards other kids since he was five and that he had "messed around" with at least three boys from every class he had been in since first grade. He also said that he was currently "fucking" another boy in our class. I asked him who it was and he said he doesn't tell names (although I'm pretty sure it's Chris Richards, who's a hyper spazz in our class that Adam is friends with). His sister Maddie once told me she saw him get into bed with three other boys at a third grade sleepover. Adam had told me that at summer camp one year he had been with every other boy in his cabin, all nine of them, singley and in pairs. One day I was at his soccer game at the junior high school. I saw Adam and a slightly younger boy from one of the other teams sneak off right after the game and slip under a grove of magnolia trees on the side of the building. I walked over and peeked in. they both had their shirts up and pants and underwear down to their ankles and were checking each other out. Adam wasn't limited to boys either. He had had a girlfriend from his fifth grade class the previous year and he had gone over to her house several times where they "fucked for real", until her parents found out he had been going over there and told their daughter they didn't want her bringing boys over when no one was home. He had also been with one of his sister Maddie's boyfriends. He once told me that Maddie herself would often show up in his room at night and get into bed with him. Our relationship was not based on any kind of monogamy so it didn't bother me that he was with other people, I just wanted to be with him myself as much as I could. Adam was also fearless about nudity, which was fun because I really liked seeing him naked. He was absolutely immodest and he didn't care who saw him. When I stayed over at his house he would go into his room and take all his clothes off. He would often go naked around his house or just wear a pair of boxers. We would both sleep nude in his double bed and wake up in each others arms. I loved Adam so much. Finally at around 10:30 am the phone rang. My Mom answered it, and then came to my room and informed me that Adam was on his way. A half hour later I heard a car crunching into the driveway. I looked outside and saw Adam pop out of the front passenger seat with his baseball cap and backpack and my heart fluttered in my chest. He went to the trunk and got his bike out. He gave his mom a big hug and began wheeling the bike to the door while our mom's chatted in the driveway. I ran to the front door just as he got there and opened it up. "Hey Madman." I said. "Hey Billiam" He replied as we fist bumped. He had so many names for me. Adam's mom began backing up out of the driveway as my mom returned to the front door. We all waved to her as she backed out onto the street and took off. "Adam and I are going to go play Halo for a bit in my room, is that ok?" I said. "It sure is. I'll call you when lunch is ready." She replied as we stampeded to my room. We got into my room and I closed the door, and we immediatly fell into each others arms in a long embrace. Adam had his arms around my back and I had mine around his waste since he still had his backpack on. I took his hat off and began stroking his wiry crewcut. He had recently gotten his bowl cut chopped down due to his ultra-conservative grandparents visiting. I liked it because his hair felt really soft and wiry now. Adam took my face in his hands and began kissing me on the mouth. We kissed for about a minute and then fell back into our embrace. "I'm so glad you're here, Adam. I love seeing you." I said. "I am too. All I ever think about is you." Adam said. He took of his backpack off and put his arm around my shoulders. I put mine around his and we walked over to the bulletin board with all his drawings on it. "You're going to run out of space soon." Adam said. "I'll just get another bulletin board when I do." I said. Adam then sat down on the edge of my bed with a troubled look on his face. I sat down next to him. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing..." Adam paused for a few seconds. "...I'm gay." He finally said. "Yeah, so? That's ok if you are. I kinda figured out that you were anyway." I said with a laugh. "No it's not , it's disgusting!" He said. "Not if it isn't to you." I said. "I don't want to be gay." He said. He was really worried about this. "Well maybe you're not. You're only eleven. You haven't even hit puberty yet." "Well I am." He said as he turned to me. "I've decided to tell my Aunt Linda." He said. "The one who's the lesbian?" I asked. "Yeah. I'm going to tell her. We've already kind of talked about it and she said if I was gay and ready to admit it then I should go to her first since she knows what it's like and everything." "Wow." I said. "That's a pretty big step, I mean, has an eleven year old ever even admitted to that?" "I don't know but I can't keep it a secret anymore. I mean, everyone pretty much knows it anyway. Maddie always teases me about it right in front of Mom and Dad and Gerald. Everyone in school probably knows I am." He said. "So you're going to tell everybody?" I said, more than a little worried. "No, are you crazy?" He said as he turned to me. "I'm just going to tell Linda. I won't mention you so don't worry." I felt immediatly torn. I wanted to help him through this but at the same time I thought it was a mistake for him to tell anyone that he was gay. I myself wasn't sure if I was or not, so I wasn't prepared to make that declaration like he was. I was also worried that our relationship would be unable to continue as it is if he blurts out to someone that he's gay. "I think you should wait. Wait until you're at least in Junior High. If you tell people now your mom is going to put you back in therapy." I replied. Adam's mom had put him in therapy when he was in third grade for his sexual behavior. "You think I should wait?" He said to me with a plaintive look. "Yes I do." I said . "I don't want to lose you, Adam. I need you..." We held each other on the bed for a few minutes. Our relationship was such an intense and wonderful and painful and confusing thing. I had once told Adam that to me it was like staring into the sun, and I now realized what that drawing that he gave me was all about. We got our composure back just in time for Mom to announce lunch. We went to the kitchen and devoured our deviled ham and honey mustard sandwiches and potato chips as though it were a feast. After lunch we got on our bikes and headed off to the Swamp Trail. The Swamp Trail was actually a series of connecting trails that circled Lakeland and followed the Kissimmee River. It was a nice walk with lots of birds, alligators, toads, and lizards to gawk at. It was early March so the gators weren't quite out in force yet. We rode our bikes into the trail entrance that was at the end of a cul de sac about a mile from my house. We meandered down the muddy and sundappled trail for a bit, and saw a couple of turtles and a big black snake. Adam was going on with stories about his soccer team and his sister while we rode. He could tell a story about taking the trash out and make it interesting. We got to a fork in the trail, the left fork continued to follow the river and the right fork veered off into the welands area. I saw several strange looking little yellow birds in a grove and I slowed down to look at them. Adam hit the right fork and I sped up to catch up with him. As I sped up to the fork I saw that I was about to hit a small rock that was on the trail. I swerved to the left while putting on the brakes, and lost control of the bike. I crashed in the mud right on the embankment and tumbled violently down to the river bank. I landed by the water and my bike landed right on top of me. I felt a deep searing pain and then a cold numbness in my right leg. I was lucky I had my helmet on because my head slammed right into a large rock. I could feel cuts and bruises all over me. I lay there for a few seconds and then I heard Adam come peddling up. I looked up the bank and saw him come to a stop with an alarmed look on his face. "Oh my God!" Adam exclaimed as he jumped down the bank and crouched down next to me. "Byron, can you hear me?" "Of course I can hear you." I moaned. "I'm not dead." "We got to get you to a doctor. Can you stand?" We moved the bike off of me and Adam tossed it back up the bank. I put my arm around his shoulder and Adam helped lift me. As soon as I put weight on my broken right leg a burst of the most intense pain I have ever experienced exploded all around it, and I crumpled back down to the ground with a yell. Adam began to panic and cry as he looked out at the water. I turned around and saw a pair of goggly, reptillian eyes looking at me from out of the water. To my horror I saw that the river was full of alligators. A small island a short distance from the shore was covered with them. At least two of them appeared to be swimming towards where we were. "Do you...have a phone with you?" I grunted. "No my mom doesn't let me carry one!" Adam frantically exclaimed in a high pitched anguished whine. "Help me...up the bank..." I puffed as I got up and held onto a branch to steady myself. "What do you want me to do?" Adam sobbed. "Go to the top of the bank and help me up." I grunted. I then grabbed hold of some tree roots and hoisted myself up the four foot bank, my right leg dangling from under me. I got to the top of the bank and Adam pulled me over the side. As he did my leg swung and hit the edge and another searing blast of pain tore through me. I growled in pain and started tearing up as I lay on the ground in agony. "Byron, let's try getting you on the bike so that I can push you out of here." Adam said. He then helped me up and walked me over to a tree. so that I could hold myself up. I was in so much pain that I felt nauseous. Adam then wheeled the bike over and steadied it by holding the back wheel between his knees. He lowered the frame towards me so that I could position myself over it. Adam then pushed me upwards so that I took the bike with me. I put my hands on the handle bars and Adam told me to just sit and that he would push me. He then steadied me with one hand on my back and the other on the handle bars and began walking the bike back down the path towards the park entrance. It was slow and excruciating. We were going slower than walking pace and every bump sent a wave of pain through me. I looked down at my leg and it was bent and swollen and horrible looking. Fortunately it wasn't long before a jogger with a cellphone came along and called 911. He said the worse thing we could be doing then was moving me. He and Adam helped me to the ground. As I lay down my leg shifted and sent out a blast of dark blue pain and I passed out. I woke up briefly as I was being carried in a stretcher down the path with paramedics on all sides of me. I passed out again and woke up in the ambulance as it was pulling away from the cul de sac. I felt sweaty and ill. "Adam...?" I said as I lifted up my head. "Your friend is with your mom in the car." Said the EMS technician as she guided my head back down to the pillow. "They're behind us right now. Don't worry, you're going to be ok." I then slipped back into unconsciousness as the morphine I.V she had given me took effect. I got to the hospital and drifted in and out of consciousness as my leg was put in a cast. I also had an assortment of cuts and bruises that needed to be attended to and cleaned up. Before long I was in a hospital room with my right leg hanging over me in traction. I was informed as I was being moved into the bed that I would have to stay overnight at the hospital since it turns out that it was a compound fracture I had and they wanted to make sure I didn't start bleeding into my leg or whatever. I was so goofy on all the pain medicine that I couldn't understand what I was being told half the time. Shortly after I was put in bed Mom and Adam showed up with a nurse. Mom ran over and began hugging me and telling me how thankful she was that I wasn't hurt worse. Adam came over to the bed with a grave and worried look. His eyes were red like he had been crying. I was half asleep from all the medication and I had a drip going of even more of the stuff. "My...my bike..." I whispered. "Your bike is fine, Honey." Mom said as she kissed my forehead. I then turned to Adam. "Hey you." I said. "Hey." He said. "Thanks for saving me from the gators." I said with a grin. Adam grinned back. "They wouldn't have eaten you anyway. You're too stringy." He said. A nurse came in after a few minutes and said that visiting hours were over. Mom said she was going to stay overnight in the hospital in a room for relatives that they had available and that she would be giving Adam a ride home. "No, let him stay." I whispered. "Please Miss Grace, can I stay?" Said Adam, who had on his best puppy dog look. "I want him to stay." I whispered again. "Byron, you were very badly hurt today. You need your rest." Mom said. "I want Adam to stay. I'll still get my rest and I'll sleep better if he's here, please?" "There's a bed over there that no one is using, or I can sleep in this chair or on the floor, please?" Adam said. "Please Mom?" I whispered, trying to sound as pathetic as I could, which wasn't hard.. Mom sighed. "Well it's ok with me I guess but I don't think the hospital will allow it." "Can you ask them, please?" I begged. Just then a doctor and a nurse came in. The nurse put a thermometer in my mouth and the doctor checked my cast. He then put my x-rays up on the viewer and I could see the nasty break just over the ankle. He said I was looking at probably ten weeks in a cast. Bye bye baseball, I thought. "Doctor, I hate to ask this of you, but Byron wants to know if his friend here can stay with him in the room here tonight?" Mom said. "Well, I certainly don't see why not." the doctor said. " We have to keep that bed open in case another patient comes in tonight." He turned to Adam. "Are you ok sleeping on the chair, son?" "Yes that's fine, thank you!" Adam said unable to hide his delight. I was smiling too. The nurse took the thermometer out of my mouth and noted the results. "I'll get him a blanket." She said as the doctor left. She then turned to Adam. "Don't touch anything and don't mess anything up." She grumbled at him. Adam swallowed and nodded and she went to a closet and took out a blanket and a pillow that she then put on the chair. The nurse then told Mom that the exception to visiting hours could only be granted to one person so either she or Adam would have to leave. Mom didn't want to leave either. I felt bad for her, but Adam would be more fun to have around, and I was going to be stuck with her at home anyway. She kissed me a few more times, let me know where her room was and left the room phone number. She said she would call Adam's mom to let him know he was staying over, and went out the door back into the busy hospital corridor. Adam came over to the side of the bed and stood next to me with his hands on the railing.. "Really, Madman, thanks for helping me get out of there today." I whispered. Adam starting crying. "I was so scared!" He sobbed."I didn't know what to do!" "You did fine. You helped me get off the bank and it was your idea to use the bicycle." I said. "Everyone said that was wrong to do that." Adam said as he sniffled and wiped his eyes with his sleeve. "At least you tried something." I said. "I'm just glad that guy with the cellphone came along." "And I'm glad it wasn't Jeffrey Dahmer Gacy." He said and we both laughed at that. My leg started aching so I hit the little button to increase my morphine dose, which dulled the pain but also made me sleepy. Adam began rubbing his hand through my hair. I reached out and we held hands while he stroked my head. I was just about to fall asleep when I felt a breeze between my legs. I opened my eyes and saw Adam lifting up my hospital gown and looking underneath it. "What are you doing?" I giggled. "I wanted to see if you had on any underwear and clearly you don't." He smiled. "No, all I have on is this gown and this cast." I said. Adam looked under my gown again, made an approving little noise, and then returned to my side by the bed. Just then the nurse came back in. "You upped your dose, are you allright?" She said. "I'm ok. My leg was starting to hurt." I said. "Well don't let this boy keep you up all night!" She said as she left the room. She really didn't like Adam being there. "She's mean." Adam said as he sat on the chair with a notepad and started drawing with a pen that was in the room. "Most nurses are. I hate hospitals." I said. Adam ripped out the piece of paper he was drawing on and gave it to me. It was a caricature of the nurse that he had drawn, and he had rendered her absolutely grotesque. I burst into laughter and could hardly contain myself. "Oh my God, that's classic!" I said as I wiped tears away. Adam was smiling as he started on a new drawing. "That's going on the board for sure when I get home." I guffawed. "Well don't let her see it. She'll take it from you and then give you tetanus shots and jello until your butt falls off." He said. This made me howl with laughter even more. Adam tried to shush me since I was being loud but instead he burst into laughter himself. This made me laugh even harder because when he tried to shush he accidently made a flatulent noise with his lips. Adam continued to sketch even while he was laughing. Our laughter stopped cold as the door opened and the big angry face of the nurse peered in. Adam and I both exploded into laughter at the sight. She told us in no uncertain terms that we were being too loud and that we were disturbing other patients and to calm down. We stiffled our giggles after she left and eventually we did calm down. Adam stopped sketching and put his pad down."I'm going to take a shower. Is that ok, Buyer?" He said. "It's ok with me, it's in that room right there." I said. "I know, I used the bathroom when we were up here earlier." He said as he took his shirt off. "Who was up here earlier?" I asked. "Your mom and me." He said as he took his pants off. " You were up here earlier?" I asked. "Yeah, you were all passed out. We've been here all day." Adam then slipped off his underwear and was naked with his penis bobbing around. He picked his clothes up and put them on the chair. He then walked over next to me. I began rubbing my left hand up and down his chest. "So beautiful..." I said. Adam grinned broadly as I touched his shoulders and his chest, and then reached down and held his penis and twirled it in my fingers. "It tickles when you do that." He breathily giggled, although he didn't move. I could feel his boner pop up in my hand and he put his arm around me. "Hey Adam, grab your underwear and close this curtain so that we can have some privacy. If the nurse comes in we'll just tell her you were changing behind here." I said. "Ok." He said. He then grabbed the privacy curtain and moved it along it's ceiling track until it surrounded my bed. Adam then returned to his spot next to the bed. I kissed him on the mouth, wrapped my hand around his penis, and jerked him off until he came with a big shudder and buckling knees. He then kissed me on my head, withdrew the curtain, and went to take his shower. Before he went into the bathroom he tore the page out of the notepad he had been sketching on and gave it to me. It was a sketch of the hospital room from where he had been sitting. While he was in the shower I studied it. He captured every detail, right down to the vase of flowers on the table and the ruffles in the curtains. Absolutely amazing. Adam came back in after a few minutes and began telling me about some kind of trouble his sister got into as he put his clothes back on. He sat down on the big comfortable chair next to my bed and I drifted off to sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night I woke up having to use the bathroom. Adam was curled up on the chair under the blanket with his pillow, his rhythmic breathing that I loved to hear was filling the room. He had shut off the lights so it was dark. I rang the nurse and she helped me with my bed pan. I fell back asleep as soon as she left. The next morning when I awoke I saw Adam sitting up on the chair with the tv remote in his hand. He had the tv on with really low volume and was flipping around some cartoons he found. "What are you watching, Adam?" I inquired drowsily. Adam turned the volume up slightly when he saw I was awake. "Just some cartoons. I couldn't find anything else but we can put something else on if you like." He said as he offered me the remote. "No this is ok." I said. Adam had found an old "Hey Arnold" cartoon so we watched that. I had to go to the bathroom so I rang the nurse. "How come you're ringing the nurse?" Adam asked. "I have to go to the bathroom." I said. "Ooooo that's right, you have to go in the bed right there!" He said as he got up and walked over. A different nurse from the night before came in. She was much younger and friendlier than the other one. She had a bed pan and some other towels and wash cloths and things with her. "Good morning, Byron, I'm Nurse Wendy. Did you sleep well ?" She asked. She was also much prettier than the one last night. "Yes, thank you." I said. She turned to Adam. "Please step to the other side of the room so that Byron can have some privacy." She then began drawing the curtain around the bed. "No he can stay in here, it's ok." I said. "Yeah we're best best friends." Adam said. "Are you sure about that, Byron?" She asked. " I'm also going to give you your sponge bath while I'm here." "Yeah, I'm sure." I said. "Please, I want to see this." Adam said. Nurse Wendy shook her head with a puzzled expression on her face. "Ok...I guess.." She finally said. She then lifted my gown and positioned the bedpan under me. Adam positioned himself on the opposite side of the foot of the bed so that he had a clear look at what was happening. He watched wide eyed as I evacuated my bowels into the bowl. "Wow, how does none of it spill out?" He said to Wendy. I then started peeing and he leaned forward a little to get a better view. "Unfortunately sometimes it does." Wendy said. "That won't happen now though, I promise." Adam smiled and waved his hand in front of his nose a couple times. "Phew!" He said in a high pitched squeak. "Do you like that, Adam?" I laughed. "It's just like when you smelled up my bathroom really bad that one time." He smiled. "Well I wanted to give you an early birthday present." I said. Adam burst into laughter and I did too, which caused Wendy to have to steady my bedpan. Wendy then removed the bedpan. Adam insisted on having a close up look at the contents. She let him look into the pan with that puzzled expression on her face again. Adam leaned over and said "Ewwww!" and quickly withdrew. We both then started laughing as Wendy left to empty the pan after wiping me down with a wet washcloth. She must have thought that we were the weirdest kids ever. She then came back in with some sponges, a towel, a basin, and some handsoap. "Have you ever had a spongebath, Byron?" She asked. "Spongebath Squarepants!" Adam sang out in a mock operatic voice. "No I haven't, Nurse Wendy." I said after I stopped laughing at Adam. "He's never had a bath at all, actually." Adam laughed. "Shut up, Adam! You know my mom puts on the lawn sprinkler for me every morning!" I said. Adam then did his impression of a lawn sprinkler and showered both Wendy and me with spit spray in the process. Wendy then began sponging my left foot and worked her way up the leg. Adam went silent as he watched. She lifted up my gown and sponged my groin, belly, and chest. Adam had one hand on the bedrail and the other down the front of his pants as he watched. She then did my chest, arms, and neck and the whole thing took two minutes. I have to admit that I kind of enjoyed Wendy sponging me down and I was glad that it was her and not that other nurse who did it. After my bath Wendy opened up the privacy curtain, emptied the basin into the sink that was in the room, and gathered up her things." I'll leave you two clowns alone now and I'll be bringing you your breakfast soon, Byron. Push the button if you need me." She said as she left. "Wow, that sponge bath looked like it felt nice." Adam said. He still had his hand in his pants. "It kind of was." I said. "Come over here and I'll do that for you." I said, pointing at his hand in his pants. Adam took his hand out and came over next to me. I rubbed his hair and the back of his neck a little. I then put my hand down his pants and began rubbing his boner. Adam had his hands on the bed railing and a look of pleasure on his face. "This feels really good this way." He said. "Do you like it better when I do it in your pants?" I asked. "Yeah, it's really nice like this. I like that you're rubbing my dick against my underwear while you're doing it." He panted. I liked it too because I could feel all the fabric and his body heat while I rubbed his hard dick. Adam reached over and put his hand up my hospital robe. He began jerking and feeling my dick. Like he said, the sensation of my dick rubbing against the fabric while he felt me was really pleasant. "I still like the way we usually do this cause I like seeing your dick, but we can do it this way too." I said. Just then the door opened and Nurse Wendy and my Mom both walked in. Adam and I both quickly withdrew and Adam turned around quickly to face the door with his hands behind his back. Wendy was carrying a tray with food on it. "I have your breakfast, Byron." Wendy said. Mom came over and kissed me and asked me if I slept well. I told her that I had. "He was out like a light." Adam said. Wendy mounted the tray on my bed. It was a small bowl of oatmeal, a poached egg, a glass of milk, a glass of orange juice, and a couple pieces of wheat toast. It wasn't exactly a feast but I was hungry so I tucked into it right away. "Come on Adam, we'll go get some breakfast in the cafeteria." Mom said. "Ok. Don't spill anything, Buyer!" Adam said cheerfully as they left. I devoured my breakfast and Wendy came in and got the tray. I watched tv for a while and then Mom and Adam walked back in from the cafeteria. "How was breakfast?" I asked. "It was good." Mom said. "The eggs were runny." Adam said and then stuck his tongue out. "I talked to the doctor and he said they decided you can go home tonight. You're going to be out of school for a week, I'm afraid." Mom said. I looked at Adam and he had an almost panicked look on his face. Oh no, this isn't good at all. "Do I have to be out that long? What about my grades?" I asked. "I'll get your assignments from your teacher." She said. "I can bring them to him!" Adam said. "Actually I called Mrs. Tronik and she said he can do the assignments online. " Mom said. "I'm also going to take a couple of days off this week to stay with you, Byron. I tried to get the whole week off but work wouldn't allow that." She said. "Well I think all of this stinks!" I pouted. I looked over at Adam and he looked unhappy and sad. Mom said she had to go use the bathroom. While she was in there Adam leaned over to me. "I'm going to visit you everyday after school, I promise." "What about your swimming and soccer practice?" I said. "Fuck all that. I'll be there every day. I promise." He said. "What about what we talked about?" I said. "What do you mean?" He said. "What we talked about in my room before we went riding, about what you wanted to tell your Aunt..." "I don't know. I still want to tell her but I guess it can wait a little bit." Mom came out of the bathroom and informed us that Adam's dad was coming to pick him up in about twenty minutes. Adam and I both groaned at the news. "Oh come on, can't he stay?" I said. "No Byron. He needs to go home. It was hard enough getting them to let him stay last night. He needs to go home, he's still wearing the same clothes from yesterday. " She said. "I always wear the same clothes from yesterday." Adam protested. "I'm sorry, Adam." Mom said. She then hugged him, leaned over and kissed him on top of his head. "You are such a sweet, sweet little guy and you care so much about my son. Thank you so much for being there for him." She hugged him again and he hugged her back. The doctor then came in and informed me that they would be changing my cast before I left that evening. "I want to sign it I want to sign it!" Adam chirped. "It's going to be changed tonight and changed again in a couple of days. You might want to wait until he's back in school and sign it then." the doctor said. "No, I want to sign every one." He said. "I'll get a marker." Nurse Wendy said. "Can I have a green one and an orange one and a black one, please?" Adam requested. "Sure, I'll be right back." She said as she stepped out into the corridor. She came back with the three Sharpies Adam had requested. He then spent the time before his dad arrived signing my cast. He wrote his name out with the black marker in lettering similar to the Coca-Cola logo. He then traced it with several layers of the orange and green markers. It all took up most of the cast. He finished it with a bright orange sun over his name. Neither of us had noticed that his dad had arrived and was talking to Mom over in the corner of the room. Once he finished he turned around to them. "Hey guys, come look at my drawing on Byron's cast." He said. They came over and looked it over. "That's very nice, Adam." His dad said. He then turned to me. "So what happened to you, Byron?" He asked. "I took a spill on my bike on the Swamp Trail." I said. "Yeah he went over an embankment and smashed into a rock. " Adam said. "Yeeowch." Adam's dad said. "He's not going out without a cellphone anymore." Mom said. "Unfortunately Adam's mother doesn't let him carry one because she doesn't think it's proper for kids to have cellphones. That might have to change, though." Adam's dad said. "So are you about ready to go?" He said to Adam. "Yeah I guess." Said Adam sullenly. "Thanks for coming out to get him, Don." Mom said. "Well I live closer to the hospital than his mother does so...you know..." He said. I couldn't help but notice the sparkle that seemed to pass between them. "Ok I'm ready." Adam said. "Allright sport, let's get going." Don said. "Sorry about your leg, Byron. I hope it gets better soon." "Thanks Mr. Fitzgerald." I said. "Bye Grace, it was nice seeing you again." He said. "Bye Don." She replied. "Bye Miss Grace, bye Buyer." Adam said and waved to me as he and his dad left the room. My heart sank and I felt depressed all of a sudden. Adam then suddenly popped around the corner of the doorframe. "See you next week, Buyer!" He then quickly withdrew. "He's a funny little boy." Mom said. "You don't even know the half of it." I said. "Actually I got to know Adam quite well yesterday." She said as she sat down on the chair. "I didn't want to tell you this while he was here, but he was so upset yesterday that they almost tranquilized him." "Really?" I said. "He was crying hysterically all the way to the hospital and after we got here, he was screaming that he killed you." She said. "Well Adam can be pretty dramatic." I said. "He calmed down after he saw that you were going to be ok, but I don't think I've ever seen anybody that upset. He really loves you." She said. "I know." I said. "While we are on this subject, I have something that I have to tell you. You know that date that I went on last Friday?" She said. "Uh huh..." I said, starting to feel uncomfortable as to where this conversation was headed. Mom paused. "It was with Don." She finally said. "Adam's dad?!" I gasped. I really had no idea. "Yes. We have also been to lunch a couple of times during the week. We wanted to wait until the right time to tell you boys, and we figured that this was the time." "What, now that I'm in the hospital with a broken leg?" I said. "Are you upset about this?" She asked. "What about Shirley?" I asked. Shirley was Adam's dad's girlfriend. "Don has split up with her to be with me." She said. "Does Adam know about all this?" I asked. "Don is telling him right now." She said. "Oh wow." I said . "Please don't be worried about it, we're not going to let it affect your...friendship with Adam." She said. "You do need to know, however, that Don and I are very serious about this relationship. After...after your dad...I really thought I would never love anyone else again. Don makes me so happy, Byron. I really hope you're ok with this." She said. I sat up and gave her a big hug. I really wanted Mom to be happy but at the same time I wondered why it had to be with Adam's dad. This is going to make things even more complicated and confusing, I thought. End of part II
