The Warriors of Indian Spring, Chapter 7

Written by Sarge AKA Aldric <pietar_the_fearless@yahoo.com>

(C) 2019

This story is based on the story "Kids of Indian Spring" (KOIS) by Jonas Henley. It is still available at the Nifty Archive, in the `Young Friends' section, and creates an imaginary community in semi-rural America. What Jonas Henley created was a culturally rich world populated by realistic teen and preteen boys that lead stimulating and attention-grabbing lives. Unfortunately, the series was never completed. Charles Well took on the task to add to the story and tried to continue it under the original name, but Nifty would not allow him to do that, so his title is based on the name of the main character in his story, Sandy Jacobs (SJ).

List of Characters added in this Chapter

Elijah Mackey (52 years): The bitter and twisted patriarch of the very deep Mackey clan. Since the disappearance of his gold, Elijah Mackey now spends his days planning the destruction and downfall of his enemies and getting back at those that, he perceived, betrayed him. He is a very minor character in this chapter.

The Waterpark

With Kelly, Ethan, and Dennis all gone, Nate and Jason knew they had the room to themselves without the likelihood of interruption and decided to make the most of it.

They took their suits off and jumped onto the bed naked. Nate smiled and kissed Jason first on the lips, then left a trail of wet marks as he made his way down to the throat, chest, and belly. He moved back up to the nipples while at the same time using his left hand to massage the tight sack holding his friend's balls.

Jason moaned as he ran his fingers down Nate's back, tickling him and making him giggle through the kisses. Then he gently pushed downward.

Nate took the hint and moved on to the beautiful five-inch long circumcised cock. To Jason's dismay, instead of taking it into his mouth, he placed small kisses from the purple crown to the very base. He looked up and saw that Jason's eyes were closed.

The boy's dick was twitching wildly in anticipation of what was to come, and Nate didn't make it wait any longer. He closed his lips around the shaft just below the glans and let his tongue rub across the head, causing Jason to squirm under him.

"Its about time," Jason said softly. "I was starting to wonder if you really knew how to do it."

Nate didn't attempt a verbal reply. Instead, he took all of the dick into his mouth. Jason stiffened. The foreplay had done its job, and it only took a few strokes up and down the shaft before cum flooded over his tongue. He swallowed the first burst and let the second one hit the back of his throat while still running his lips up and down over the shaft. As the bursts of hot cum ended, he held the dick in his mouth until Jason's breathing slowed and his dick began to soften.

"If you want, you can try to fuck me," Jason said. "I've never done that before, but I think I'm ready."

Nate got up and used the Vaseline he had brought with him.

"Are you sure?" he asked.

"Yeah, I think so," Jason said.

Nate lifted his friend's legs over his shoulders and gently pushed his cock against the crack. He went deeper with each push.

"The next push will enter you unless you want me to stop," Nate said, giving every chance for Jason to control what was being done to him.

But instead of speaking, Jason started pushing back on his own. He felt the slippery dick press against his anus, and then it pressed forward and into him.

"Aaahh," he said. "Hold it, I didn't think it would hurt."

"The pain will pass in a second," Nate said. "Tell me if you want me to pull back."

"No, just hold like you are," Jason said. After a few seconds, his muscle relaxed, and nearly all of the pain went away.

"Okay, but go slow," he said.

Nathan's brain didn't want to go slow, it wanted to drive the dick in as fast and hard as possible, but Nate didn't give in to the thought. He slowly pushed in an inch, paused, and then advanced some more. After three more movements, he was in as deep as he could go. He began a slow in and out motion, and after a few strokes he felt Jason riding up and down to match him.

A few minutes later he knew he was ready. "I'm going to cum. Tell me if you want me to pull out first."

"No, do it," Jason said. He grunted as Nate drove in a little harder and he could feel the dick in his ass got a slight bit bigger before he heard his friend moan with the sounds of a boy cumming.

Several minutes later, Nate pulled out as his dick deflated. "Thanks, I probably enjoyed that more than you did," he said.

"Maybe. But later tonight we switch places."

Nate hummed happily in agreement.

The Tucker Wood

They travelled without talking, and Ian was the first to recognize a problem.

"Hey, snap out of it," he said to his friends. "She said a warrior doesn't go into battle without being sure he was going to win. We're doing everything we can, so be positive and this time she won't surprise us."

"Easy for you to say," Jack said. "You're not the one who has to fight her. You just need to move rocks."

"Ian's right," David agreed. "You need to believe in yourself; in us. She'll be fighting to stop us, not you. You need to keep her from hurting us so much that we can't finish the job."

Jack knew they were right. But he still doubted that he could do anything to prevent her from stopping them. And once they no longer were a threat to her, she'd come for him.

The Tucker House

Ashton could smell the Banshee and knew she was close by. He knew his fever was getting worse. Then he heard the front door open.

"Mom," he called out, but his voice was too weak to be heard. A moment later he heard noise from the other bedroom.

"Kelly," he tried.

"Did you hear something?" Ethan asked.

"No," his brother answered.

"Sounded like Ashton," Ethan said. He went to the hall and turned left towards the room he shared with Ashton. Kelly was right behind him.

"Oh my god," Ethan said the moment he saw the kid. He turned and ran for the steps. "Mom, Ashton is in bed and he looks real sick."

In the moment before his mom came, Ashton found the strength to tell Kelly two things. "Monster, waiting for me to die. Other boys dying at Elijah's new place, north of here." Then he passed out.

Kelly had never once doubted his brother's ability to know things. He knew his dad had sold land to the evil old Mackey, and if that man was attacking Ian and Jack, he was going to stop it. Without a word to his mom as he passed her in the hall, he was on his way.

Elijah Mackey Property

They had thought it would be a long search, but in fact it had been ridiculously easy to find the grave. The boundary of Elijah's new property was marked off with a two-rail fence that had signs saying, "Private Property, Keep Out." They saw where one of the fence posts crossed a soft spot in the dirt, and a pile of rocks had been tossed off the spot and outside the fence. They started by kicking off the rails on each side of the post. Since a post-hole digger had been used recently to put in the post and the ground was still soft, it was fairly easy to pull it out.

"Elijah Mackey is going to kill us," Ian said as they worked. "We'll have to convince him somehow to move the fence around this spot."

With the fence now out of the way, they took a quick break before starting to move the rocks back over what they hoped was the grave.

"Are you ready?" David asked once they'd had a brief rest. "Remember, we're not kids anymore. We're warriors, we believe in ourselves and each other, and we are going to win this battle."

Jack wasn't sure how to be ready, but he faced back to the south as David and Ian both picked up a rock.

"Here we go," David said.

The Tucker House

Ethan was torn. He and Ashton didn't get along as well as he and Kelly did. But he was still his brother. He'd come home hating the world for how it had treated him, and hating Dennis Brewer even more. But then he saw Ashton and his own problems seemed miles away.

"He's got a fever of a hundred and three and red marks on his cheeks that look infected," Silvie Tucker said to her husband over the phone. "And he wet himself. Ethan is with him."

There was a pause, and then she said, "Kelly ran out of the house without saying a word. It's just me and Ethan here with him, and Ashton is too weak to talk."

Ethan stopped listening to his mother. Ashton was trying to say something.

"We're warriors," the boy whispered. "You'll get over Dennis, and I'll get over this. Believe in yourself and fight for what you want, just like Kelly did."

"Where did Kelly go?" he asked, but his brother's eyes were closed again. He wasn't surprised that the kid already knew about Dennis Brewer. Ashton saw things. He knew who was at the door, or what mom would make for supper before she even knew. But what was this about being a warrior? Where the hell did the kid get that from?"

"Help me get him to the car," his mom said as she came back into the room. "We're taking him to the hospital. Your dad will meet us there."

***

Soge knew the boy only had hours to live. His mother was home, but there was nothing she could do to stop the illness from taking her victim. Only it wouldn't kill him. She would get there first, moments before he died, and thus she would keep him in torment forever; dead to the rest of the world, but unable to pass on. Just as she had been. Until the stones had been moved.

Soon she'd have his blood, and then she could deal with that damned Lanham kid. She had seen that Scain had left a part of his blackness in the three boys he had possessed. It was buried deep within them, but she knew it was there, and she could draw on that hidden mark. The three boys were no threat to her.

But then she felt the first stone land. She hadn't given thought to where the other boys might be. She didn't want to lose the Tucker boy. But now she knew she had to leave.

Elijah Mackey's Property

The howling wind announced her arrival. With it came the mists. She was about to attack the Mackey boy, who was lifting the larger rocks, when she found herself frozen in place. With each rock that landed on her grave she grew weaker, but so far there were only a few of the stones in place.

That damn Lanham kid was getting stronger. She had to use all of her power to break free of him. Her first attack opened a six-inch-long gash in the arm of the boy with the big rock, causing him to drop it. Then she turned to the Cormack. With her face inches from his, she got him to stare into her eyes and drew out the bit of evil that Scain had left in him.

Now under her control, he started throwing the rocks the other way, away from the grave. She turned back to David, only to have a rock hit her in the back of the head. Normal objects wouldn't harm her, but this was a gravestone, and it hurt.

The Lanham boy had broken her hold on the Cormack and had directed him to use the rocks on her. Another rock hit her.

She kicked out at David's balls and he dropped to the ground screaming in pain. Then she grabbed Ian and threw him twenty feet back, where he bounced off a tree. He'd hit his head hard, and she could see he was dazed. Now it was time for the Lanham boy.

***

Kelly ran as fast as he ever had before. When he got close to Elijah's property, he saw a horrid scene. The creature, without her disguise. Dark skinned, dressed in a black shroud, she threw Ian into a tree with magic alone. Ian had been trying to move stones from the woods onto a pile just inside the fence. And now the monster had turned her attention to Jack.

***

Soge was relieved. The foolish kid had used his power to make his cousin attack her, rather than have him do what he should be doing, which was moving rocks to her grave. With the two other boys out of action, now there was only the Lanham boy left to deal with.

Thanks to Scain, the boy still carried the resentment of his cousin buried deep in his mind. She slowly drew it out from the hidden recesses of his memory. It worked. His hold over his cousin was broken. The kid was dazed, but the next rock was directed at the grave and not at her.

She took a second to assess the situation. The Mackey boy was out of action, his balls wracked in pain and ice. The Cormack kid was adding rocks, but slowly, and only the smaller ones. He was too weak to lift the larger boulders. The small rocks would hardly matter, and she could make him move them off the grave once she was done with the one called Jack.

She started to systematically break through his defenses. His power was surprisingly strong, but not even close to her capacity for dominance, not even after the stones that had been added had weakened her. And now she saw his biggest fear. The boy was afraid of being afraid. She was going to show him fear that he never thought was possible. He was already powerless to stop her.

But then a large rock landed on the grave, followed by another. She turned, ready to attack the Mackey boy again, but there was a new child there.

She screamed at him, using all the power she could muster. It should have left him bloodied, head-to-foot, but nothing happened. He picked up another rock and tossed it into place. Her power was fading, and this delay was allowing the Lanham boy time to slowly recover.

This new boy might be immune to her magic, but not to her physical power. She fainted a kick and instead attacked with a claw, but before it connected, the kid sidestepped and it missed him. And then she saw him for what he really was. She'd been afraid of the older Cormack boy who had defeated Scain, but this boy was an even worse opponent. He might be the most dangerous human she'd ever faced. He was completely immune to her power. Not just hers, but any power. And he could see her for what she truly was.

This time she didn't try to trick him. She attacked with all the physical strength she could muster, and hit him three times, drawing blood. She took a moment to lick some off a claw, giving her some degree of mastery over his abilities. He was now expending all of his effort defending himself, and she no longer had to worry about him adding rocks to her grave. But now the small rocks being added by the one called Ian were starting to become significant.

***

Elijah Mackey had been completing the finishing touches to his still. It would soon be ready to make its first batch of shine. But as he shut off the welder's torch he'd been using to solder copper pipe, he heard shouting. It sounded like kids. And the last thing he wanted hanging around his new property were any kids.

He saw them over by where he had finished the fence a few days before. But what he also saw shook him to the bone. He'd heard tales, and recognized it immediately. A banshee! She looked exactly as the old tales had described. And she was battling boys and winning. If kids ended up dead here, his still would be found for sure during the ensuing investigation. Besides, he was hardly keen on the idea of a banshee haunting his new property. Hoping he wasn't too old to still deliver knock-out punches, he ran over to reluctantly lend assistance.

***

She should run, try and return home before her grave was covered. But she could see it was already too late. The small boy was tossing rocks without error. Even the Lanham boy had stopped fighting her and was gathering rocks. It was over. She was about to be bound in the ground again. But she was going to take the Cormack boy with her. She lunged for Ian.

And instead found another person blocking her path. It was an old man, and she could see the evil and meanness in his aura. He had no power except hatred for those who did have power. And he tried to hit her! He was pathetic and not worth her time.

"No Mr. Mackey," Kelly called. "The rocks, cover her grave."

Elijah had no love for any Tucker, but he saw the boy was right. He turned and grabbed at one of the biggest rocks and rolled if over the soft spot where the fence post used to be. The howling wind went away, and along with it the form of an ugly old woman slowly faded to nothing.

"You brought a banshee to my property!" Elijah yelled as soon as the battle was done.

"No," Jack said. "She was killed and buried here, centuries ago I think. You allowed her freedom when you moved the rocks."

Elijah looked at the pile of rocks he'd spent a full day moving. From what he knew of the old legends, the boy was right. He looked at Kelly.

"Your father sold me tainted land," he said. "I'll be seeing him about getting some of it back, and moving the boundary. This evil site will be on his land, not mine. And you will work for free to move the fence to the new edge of MY property."

"Talk to my father," Kelly said. "If he agrees to any of that, fine, even if I have to move the fence. But not until he tells me." Ignoring the round of curses coming from the old man, he went to Ian and helped him up.

"You okay?" he asked David and Jack. "We need to get Ian home. His family will know what to do."

"I'll make it," David said. "But you need to go home. Ashton's real sick, dying I think."

"He's with my mom and Ethan. They can do anything I could do. Let's get you guys to the Cormack house."

Aftermath

The doctors at the hospital could not explain the source of the infection, nor how Ashton recovered so quickly. They kept him overnight for observation just in case.

He shared a room with Ian, who had a concussion and dozens of bruises. Kelly, with help on the details from David, had told Ian's parents that the boys had fought a banshee. But as far as the hospital knew, he had fallen out of a tree.

David and Jack had wanted to stay with them, but the hospital had a policy for no visitors outside of the proper hours.

Kelly was treated for some deep cuts that he said he got when a tree he was chopping down fell the wrong way and he got hit by some branches. The cuts didn't require stitches, and he was quickly released. Once home with Ethan, he explained, as best he could understand from what David and Jack had told him, that there had been more than one monster, one he hadn't known about. But he was able to assure Ethan that it was gone forever and there was not a third one.

"Tomorrow, you need to go see Cal Brewer," he said. "He needs to know about his cousin. You can stay with him if you want. He won't mind."

Ethan nodded. In his heart, he was still broken and would never have a boyfriend like Dennis again. But in his head, the idea of doing something fun with Cal seemed like a good idea. And maybe Sean Mackey too. He knew that Sean had been spending a lot of time with Cal recently.

The next morning, their father had agreed to move Elijah Mackey's boarder 25 feet, and he offered Kelly to help move the fence, but only if he got paid. Elijah argued, but Hal stood his ground, and the old man didn't want to spend another day doing manual labor. Besides, if there was anyone in Indian Spring who would stay away from the new still and not tell anyone where it was if he saw it, it was the oldest Tucker boy. They agreed on a price.

That afternoon, shortly before lunch time, there was a knock at the door. Ashton wasn't home from the hospital yet, so Kelly had to get up to see who it was.

Kathy Noble was dressed more like typical girls from Indian Spring. She used her hand to brush her brown hair out of her face as he answered the door.

"I hope I'm not interrupting your lunch," she said. "I wanted to apologize to your mother. And to you too. After you left my room, I went looking for you, but Kurt said you'd gone home."

"My mom is at the hospital with my youngest brother. He got real sick, that's why I had to hurry home." He paused. Ethan was at Cal's, so it was just him home. He wondered how she would react if his mom came home and found him alone in the house with a girl. He decided to take his chances and invited her in.

"Look, I've had time to think over what happened, and I think I understand it a bit better now. Andrea's not a nice person, and she is absolutely positive that her brother and I are gay. You were caught in the middle of that."

"Funny you should mention her. When Casey told his parents what she had made Kurt and me do, they decided that she shouldn't have to worry about what she believed about her brother's sexual preference. She's being sent to St. Oliver's up in Bingham. It's a private boarding school. She isn't too happy about being sent there."

Kelly recognized the name. It was where Casey had gone for a few months last fall.

Kathy explained that she couldn't stay, and they said goodbyes on a high note. She promised she'd come by again to apologize to his mother.

***

It was the last day of winter break. Ashton was home, sleeping in his own bed. He had been declared cured and was to be allowed to see his friends that day. Ethan got up quietly so as not to wake Kelly. His brother would probably complain or try to stop him if he knew what was about to happen.

Ashton woke suddenly to a pleasurable alarm. It was Jack, sucking his dick. Or maybe Ian again. He opened his eyes and looked down and had the biggest surprise of his life. It was his middle brother.

Ethan realized Ashton was awake, and looked up at the boy. Releasing the small dick from his mouth, he said, "Morning. And just so you know, you can wake me this way. One time, never again after that." Then he went back to the kid's twitching dick and finished the job.

Kelly chose to use the day to move Elijah Mackey's fence, and Ashton, Ian, Jack, and David came along to help. Digging the holes for the posts by hand was hard work, and only David was strong enough to provide much help. It had been a warm winter and there was no frost in the ground, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

While Kelly and David dug the new post holes, the three younger boys looked for any rocks they could find and added them to the Banshee's grave.

By noon, all the holes had been dug, and by then it was a much easier job to put the poles in and fill in around them. The younger boys were able to help with that, as well as nailing the rails to the posts.

They were about to leave, but Jack wanted to show them something he had found.

"This isn't a rock, I think it's a bone," he said as he showed what he had found earlier. "Do you think it was part of her?" he asked as he pointed at the cairn that marked the Banshee's grave.

Ashton walked over and sniffed it. "No, it isn't evil," he said. "But it does have magic in it."

That made Kelly recall the old tale of how the Crazy Indian had been formed. An Indian woman had been wounded, and left behind as her husband went off to battle. She cried for his return, but he never did. Over the years, her tears formed the Indian Spring Pond, which overflowed, forming the stream that later became known as the Crazy Indian.

He didn't believe it really happened that way. The pond was filled from a spring deeper down in the earth. But he had met the Indian girl. And Ashton had told him that he and his friends had also met her.

"What if this is a bone from the Brave Who Did Not Return?" he asked. "We should take it to the pond."

The boys immediately agreed. They picked up their tools and headed south. They stopped at the Tucker house to drop off the tools, and then continued to the pond.

"Do we just toss it in, or should we do some kind of ceremony?" Kelly asked.

"Orenda wants us to bring it to her," Ashton said. He saw the confused look on his brother's face. "The Weeping Squaw," he said. "Don't you remember her? You looked really cool dressed like an Indian."

Kelly had never told Ashton about his time in the pond with the Indian girl, but he knew the boy must have seen it using his powers. In his meeting, he'd been dressed in nothing but a loin cloth.

Ashton began undressing.

"Hey, Ashton, the water will be freezing cold," Kelly said. "We can't ..." He paused as he saw that Ian, Jack, and David were undressing too.

"Yeah, so we'll appreciate having dry clothes to put on afterwards," David said. "You're coming in with us."

Kelly gave in to popular opinion. The five underwear-clad boys stepped into the pond. To Kelly's total surprise, it was warm. The moment they entered the water, the Indian girl appeared in the center of the pond.

"At long last Nootau has returned to me," she said. "Give me the bone."

Kelly handed it over. Once again, he saw that he was wearing just a loin cloth. He looked around and saw that David was clad the same as him, but the younger boys were naked.

As Orenda took the bone, it became a human. Not quite a man yet, but not a boy, he turned to face Kelly and the others.

"I am Nootau. Very long ago, I died fighting the beast that claimed my wife, but lived long enough to bury it under rocks as my wife had once instructed me." He took Orenda's hand. "I can see the resemblance," he said, looking at Ashton. "A Tucker named Donal did his best to care for her, and to teach our son. I can see that you and he," he pointed at Kelly, "are descended from him."

He looked next at David. "You are the complete image of Otetiani, our son. He was a hunter and tracker; none was better than him. He married into the white man's world. But memories of his mother's death plagued him, and affected all of his offspring, including you. But now my family will be united in the afterworld. You will no longer be cursed with his troubled mind."

"There is a piece of the Madoc left in you, you, and you," he said, pointing in turn to Jack, Ian, and David. "Orenda could not remove it, but I can. This gift I will give you if you want. But it comes at a cost. You will no longer share the thoughts of each other. Do you want me to remove it?"

"Will keeping it harm us?" David asked. "Is it dangerous?"

"Should you ever meet another of what you call the Banshee, then yes, it could use that black spot inside to harm you, or make you harm others. Other than that, no, it will not cause you harm."

It only took a moment for the three boys to decide to keep it, and David told the warrior their decision.

"The tears of my wife will no longer feed the river. It will continue to flow, but her magic, which flowed with her tears, will no longer affect those who play in its waters. Thank you for all you have done."

With that, hand-in-hand, Orenda and Nootau began to sink into the pond.

Remembering the last time, David said, "Hurry, get out before they are under water." The five boys managed to get to where it was only knee deep before the water turned cold again.

"Me, then dad, then Grandpa Calvin, then Kelty, Ben, Seamus, and finally Donal," Ashton said, remembering the names and lines on the paper he had seen in his dad's office. "That's who he said I looked like." His pride showed through his words. "And Donal was born to Liam Tucker and Cara O'Shaunessy, and Jack said that's important."

"You remember all that?" Kelly asked, amazed. He too had seen the family tree, but couldn't remember any of the names.

"Well, duh," Ashton replied. He turned his attention to David.

"And you," he said. "You're from an Indian family. You sure looked cool standing there in the pond. He said you look just like his kid."

For the first time in his young life, David felt free from all the troubled things in his memory. The things he had done, the way his brother and cousins had treated him, all of it was washed away in the pond. He was now just David Mackey. Well, more than that. He had chosen to remain joined to Jack and Ian. He knew what they knew, and vise-versa. But overall, it was the best he could ever remember feeling.

"I can still smell the monster smell on you guys, but I guess now I don't need to be afraid of it," Ashton said after taking in a deep breath.

"A bit cold for a swim, isn't it?" came a female voice from behind them. None of the boys had dressed yet. They turned and saw Kathy Noble.

There was a mad scramble for clothing as she stood there with a smile on her face. Once they were dressed again, she came closer.

"I guess we're even now," she said to Kelly. "I was on my way to your house to apologize to your mom. And to see you. But is this some kind of ritual I walked into? Diving into the cold waters of the pond every winter?"

"Go talk to her, and be yourself," Ashton whispered to his brother. "You're going to be spending a lot of time with her." To the other boys, he said out loud, "Come on guys, let's go find something to do."

Left alone with Kathy, Kelly didn't know what to say. But Ashton was never wrong.

"My house is this way," he said, inviting her to it for the first time. They walked side-by-side to the house.

The End
