The Princess Bride, 1987 You were there -- Part 35 "Luke, Diego," detective Singh spoke with a smile, "I want you to meet someone. This is Jero ..." "Oh, my god!" Luke shouted, cutting him off. "Jerome! You're alive!" Luke lunged at the boy and clenched his arms around him, burying his face in the boy's chest: "You are alive!" "Oh, hey, man," the boy patted Luke's back, looking around with uncertain smile. "Yes, this is Jerome Jenkins," detective Singh finished with a chuckle. "And this is his cousin Nia," he pointed to the young woman next to Jerome. "They live in Boston." "Ah, Luke, why don't you let Jerome go, so that we can talk," Frank suggested with a grin. Luke reluctantly separated from Jerome and looked at him, beaming: "You're alive. I can't believe it ..." "Didn't I tell you," Diego interjected, tugging on Luke's hand. "I knew Jerome was gonna be okay. I knew it." "Yeah, you're very smart," Luke replied. He turned to Jerome again. "Oh, god, you're alive!" Luke repeated, his eyes shining with happiness. Suddenly Luke grabbed Jerome in a hug again. "You'll have to excuse Luke," Diego explained with apologetic smile. "He hugs. Everybody." "Hey, that's okay," Jerome patted Luke's back again and Luke finally released him. "You know, cuz, you were never THIS happy to see me," Jerome remarked to Nia with a mock pout. "Ha, Luke doesn't know you as well as I do," Nia retorted. Frank cleared his throat: "Jerome, Nia, as you might have guessed, this is Luke and that's his ..." "This is my boyfriend Diego!" Luke interrupted, throwing his arm around Diego's neck. Diego blushed and nodded with a shy smile. "Wow. You guys are gay? That's cool," Jerome replied matter-of-factly. "I'm straight. I think. Still working on getting a girlfriend ..." "Boy, you should be working on getting your math grades up," Nia chided him. "A girlfriend can wait." "Oh, she's waiting! Just gotta find her!" Jerome smirked. "All right, all right, everybody," Frank directed, "let's sit dit down and have a good talk, shall we?" Luke and Diego noticed that Frank's office had several extra chairs in front of his desk. Soon everyone was seated, waiting for Jerome expectantly. "So, Jerome, man, come on, you're killing me, tell us what happened!" Luke urged. "Did you run away or what?" "Well," Jerome started, "not sure where to start ... I first noticed you checking me out in that intake line, the day we got to St Anthony's" "Wait, shit, you saw me looking?" Luke blushed and grabbed his head. "Well, yeah," Jerome admitted. "I mean you weren't that subtle. And I've been on the streets long enough by then to pay attention and see what was up 'round me." "See," Nia interjected, "Jerome here, he's still sorta like an owl. Got a 360 degrees vision. Spooky." "More like a rat," Jerome smirked. "Hey, don't you call yourself a rat," Nia smacked the back of his head lightly. "Why not? Rats are real smart!" Jerome retorted. "Ah, Jerome, man," Luke interrupted, "sorry, you see, I thought that you looked cute. Had nice arms. You still do." Luke, realizing what he'd just said, blushed bright red and looked down. "Hey, it's cool," Jerome replied nonchalantly. "Like I said, I was simply paying attention. I also noticed that creep, Brother Peter, giving you a real nasty look just then. Noticed him looking at me too. Knew that that place was real bad news and started thinking how to split from there." "Oh. My. God!" Luke exclaimed with admiration. "Jerome, man, you're a genius!" "Isn't he a genius?" Luke directed himself to Diego. "And don't I have a great taste in guys?!" Luke again wrapped his arm around Diego's neck, drew Diego closer and planted a long kiss on his cheek. "Come on, Luke, you're embarrassing us in front of the guests," Diego complained with a laugh. "I don't care!" Luke finally released Diego. "Sorry, Jerome, go ahead." "You guys are great, he-he!" Jerome remarked. "Anyway, later that night when Brother Tolbert ..." "Who?" Luke interrupted again. "Brother Tolbert," Jerome explained. "That's the monk who came to fetch you. So when he took you away and you didn't come back, I knew some bad shi ... sorry, some bad stuff must have come down." "Wow," Diego remarked appreciatively. "Jerome, you figured all that out already that first evening? That was pretty smart!" Luke gave Diego a frustrated glare. "No biggie," Jerome continued. "So the next morning I ask this fatso Brother Tolbert what happened to you, Luke. And he gives me attitude, says, 'Shut yer dirty sinful mouth, boy, it's none of yer business. He's sick, in the infirmary, stomach troubles, got it?' Somethin' like that. But I see that he's trembling like a leaf, the bloody lying bastard." "Damn," Luke commented. "Of course, I was in the infirmary, he was right about that. Only it wasn't stomach troubles ..." "Yeah, I figured as much," Jerome smirked. "And then a few days later there was this really big commotion. All the bloody monks running 'round the place. I overhead 'em talking that you'd run off. Lots of shouting. Searched all our bunkbeds. Even the lazy Father Gilbert came down to give us a lecture." Jerome paused and scratched his shaved head, remembering. "And that bloody pale vampire, Brother Peter, I saw him looking at me again just then. Brr, those eyes, like cold daggers. Real scary shit. I knew right then that I had to scram outa there and fast." "Oh, my god, did I say you were smart?!" Luke exploded. "Jerome, man, I swear, you've got a brain the size of Jupiter, just like Diego here! So how did you get out?" "The next morning, in a garbage bin," Jerome explained with a wicked grin. "No way!" Luke exclaimed. "I used a laundry basket!" Luke gave Jerome a hi-five. "See, Jerr, don't you get too full of yourself," Nia joked. "Luke here really got out in style. A laundry basket, now that's really clever!" "Hey, hey, wait a moment!" Luke protested. "A garbage bin was pretty smart too!" "The boy's right," detective Singh suddenly spoke up. "I inspected that place, St Anthony's, carefully. It was locked up pretty tight. Would have been real hard to get out and few ways to do it." "So how did you end up in Boston?" Diego inquired. "Well," Jerome explained. "I sorta was tired of being on my own by then. See, my mom, she got into serious drugs about a year before and OD-ed. It was bad. Never did know who my dad was ..." "Oh, sorry, man," Luke interjected. "We didn't know. We're all sort of in a similar boat here. Pity you couldn't come to this place. It'd have been great having you here." "Yeah, maybe," Jerome mused. "From what I seen, there aren't many places quite like this. Damn, this might be the only one ..." He paused again, looking around pensively. "Anyways," Jerome continued, "I remembered that I had this cool cousin in Boston -- at least then I thought she was cool, he-he -- who hadn't treated me like a complete twerp ..." "Oh, I did think you were a twerp," Nia interjected with a smile, "just an adorable one. You still are!" "Right," Jerome admitted, "so I found Nia. And here we are!" A few moments of silence followed. "Err, Nia, forgive me, but you look pretty young to be raising a teenage kid on your own," Frank remarked gently. "How are you managing?" "Oh, we do okay, don't we, Jerr?" Nia replied giving Jerome an affectionate hug. "I'm 23 and got my associate degree last year. Have an EMT job now which pays pretty good. We've got our own apartment and a car. Might try to go to college next year, we'll see ..." "So it's just you and Jerome?" Frank inquired. "Sorta," Nia confirmed. "Well, until Jerome get a girlfriend, that is," she added jokingly. "Well, my parents, they moved back to South Carolina," she continued in a more serious tone, "but they still visit us from time to time. And I've got an aunty who lives not far from Boston. She helps out as well. So we manage." "Wow!" Luke exclaimed. "You're an EMT?! Ever gave anyone electric shock to the heart, like on TV? Boom, clear!" Luke made an exaggerated sound and a motion with his palms simulating electric shock paddles. "Yes, yes, I have," Nia replied gently. "But you know, Luke, in real life it's not like on TV. In real life when we actually have to do that, the person usually dies. It's pretty sad." "Oh. Sorry, I didn't know," Luke replied, chastened. "It's all right, kid," Nia reassured him. "We save quite a few too. I like my job. And it pays the bills, for me and the twerp here." "Hey, hey, hey!" Jerome protested. "'An adorable twerp', if you please, remember?!" Everybody laughed light-heartedly. "So, detective Singh, how did you find them?" Diego asked when the laughter died down. "Well, Diego, I'm afraid it was nothing particularly glamorous," detective Singh explained, "just basic diligent police work. After my conversation with you boys we started systematically looking for all of Jerome's relatives, on the assumption that if he did run away from St Anthony's, he might look for one of them afterwards. Eventually we came across a second cousin living in Boston. And, as Jerome put it, here we are!" "Detective Singh," Luke spoke earnestly, "I'm glad you disobeyed your parents and didn't become an engineer. I'm glad you've become a cop. Thank you." "Luke, kid," detective Singh chuckled gently. "I believe no-one ever paid me a greater compliment!" "So, Jerome, Nia, are you headed back to Boston right away?" Frank inquired. "Or would you like to stick around for a bit? You are certainly welcome here!" "Well," Nia considered, "I would like to do a bit of shopping here in town ..." "Oh, stop that!" she chided Jerome, noticing him snickering stealthily. "What is it now, close to 4pm, right? Why don't I leave Jerome here for about three hours and come pick him up at seven. How does that sound?" "Sounds like I capital idea!" Frank approved. "Luke, Diego, you can show Jerome around, okay?" "Yeah, of course, Mr Frank, absolutely!" Luke agreed enthusiastically. "Jerome, dude, it's gonna be so cool, I promise!" Luke beamed at Jerome and Jerome nodded with a friendly smile. A few minutes later, after saying goodbye to the adults, the three boys were walking towards the basketball court and the obstacle course area around the back of the clubhouse. "So, dudes, you got Halo 4 here? I'm bitching good if I say so myself!" Jerome inquired with bravado. "And I bet I can whoop your asses at Minecraft!" "Ah, no, sorry," Diego explained. "We've got no video games at Green Oaks." "What?!" Jerome stopped and stared at Diego in disbelief. "Man, you're shitting me, right? No video games at all? Are you guys sure this place isn't a prison?" "No, Jerome, dude, Green Oaks, it's the best, you'll see!" Luke stepped in. "Who needs those stupid video games, they just fucking melt your brain. We've got real games right here!" "No shit!" Jerome shook his head. "You guys are like the Amish or something ... But you do look pretty buff for a white boy!" he gave Luke a playful punch in the shoulder and winked at him. "Okay, let's see who whoops whose ass at hoops then!" The boys spent some time shooting hoops at the basketball court. They kept no score but Jerome was impressed by Luke's and Diego's agility. They also climbed the net and the rope and briefly visited the gym. The boys then headed to the barnyard. Despite his great reluctance, Luke and Diego eventually convinced Jerome to mount Summer. They led him around the yard and Jerome made several slow circles before climbing down. Although the workshop building was closed, Luke used his lock-picking skills to get them inside and show Jerome around. Jerome was duly impressed. The pottering area, with several samples of Luke's work still drying off on the shelves, left Jerome particularly in awe. To everyone's surprise, including his own, Jerome really hit it off with Winston, the old grouchy donkey. Winston gladly allowed Jerome to pet him, and Jerome fed Winston some freshly cut apples. The boys walked by the south edge of the pond and caught up with Devon, Danny and Ritchie who were fishing by the pier there. Danny let Jerome use his fishing rod for a bit and Jerome managed to catch a small yellow perch. Although it was already past 6pm, the air was getting hotter and it was looking to be an unseasonably warm evening. The group packed up their gear and headed back to the clubhouse. "Well, dudes, I gotta hand it to you, this place isn't half bad," Jerome admitted to Luke and Diego as they walked up the hill. "See, what did I tell you!" Luke declared triumphantly. "And you haven't even seen our forest yet. And man, you should have been here when we had Fidget ..." "Who?" Jerome queried with a chuckle. "Fidget," Diego explained. "An orphan bear cub who stayed with us for a few days." "A bear cub?!" Jerome repeated incredulously. "Man, now I know you're shitting me!" "No, we're not!" Luke countered indignantly. As they did earlier with Chris and Noah, Luke and Diego showed Jerome some pictures of Fidget on their phones. "Well, fuck me!" Jerome exclaimed as he looked at the pictures. "A bear cub! In your room! Sorry I didn't believe you, guys. It just that ... Man, this is some heavy weird shit ..." He scratched his head and gave Luke and Diego a penetrating glance followed by a bright grin: "Luke, Diego, you two are pretty weird dudes, you know that, right?" "Yeah, we've heard that before," Luke replied nonchalantly. "That's how we like it!" "Yeah, I like it too!" Jerome chuckled. When they got to Frank's office, Nia was already waiting for them there. "Hey, cuz, looky, you're on time!" Jerome ribbed her with a cheeky grin. "Don't you start with me now, boy!" Nia frowned and punched his shoulder playfully. "Luke, Diego, I actually got you something," she turned to the boys. "A present? Really?" Diego's eyes lit up. "Yeah," NiÄ... confirmed. "You might be getting a little old for this but the box said 'ages 8 to 14'. And then there are other kids here too ..." She rummaged in one of her shopping bags and pulled out a large cardboard box. "Here," she handed Luke the box. "A kite. Eagle shaped. 74 inches wing span. Assembly required. Seems like that would be your kind of thing, Luke." "Wow!" Luke accepted the box gratefully. "An eagle! Thanks, Nia!" Luke looked at the box for a moment. It had a realistic picture of a golden eagle with its wings outstretched on the cover. "Seems like your kinda thing, Diego," he said with a wink and handed the kite to Diego. Diego stared at the box silently. He felt Luke giving his hand a gentle squeeze. The boys said their goodbyes to Nia and Jerome. "Jerome, man, thanks for being so smart!!" Luke grabbed Jerome in a huge hug. "You really are a genius!" "Thanks, man, thanks," Jerome patted Luke's back. "Glad there are some who appreciate me!" He gave Nia a sly glance and she rolled her eyes. "Later, gators!" Jerome waved to Luke and Diego. "Come visit us if you're ever in Boston. I still wanna whoop your butts at Minecraft!" "Ah, Jerome, text me if you ever need help with the math homework, okay?" Diego volunteered. Jerome flashed another bright toothy grin. "Hey, Nia," Luke called just as Jerome and Nia were exiting the room. "Thanks for taking care of Jerome! And for doing that EMT stuff!" Nia turned around, smiled warmly and waved back. After Nia and Jerome left the room, Luke and Diego turned towards Frank. "Well, Luke, kid," Frank cleared his throat, "I'm real happy for you, this really is a ..." "Yeah, yeah, thanks, Mr Frank," Luke suddenly interrupted, "we'll talk later. But now you really gotta do something for us!" "Eh, what?" Frank replied, perplexed. "You gotta let me and Diego camp in the forest tonight. Y'now, by the big old willow. We'll take the row-boat!" Luke rapid-fired breathlessly. "Oh, I don't know, Luke," Frank hesitated. "It's late. We haven't even had dinner yet. And the boat? I don't want you boys to tip over in the dark ..." "Oh, come on, Mr Frank," Luke spoke persuasively. "There's still lotsa light, especially if we skip dinner and go right now. We've got plenty of food in our fridge and can eat something once we get there. And when did you ever know me tip the boat over, he-he?" "Well, you might be right about that," Frank admitted. "But the nights are getting chilly already. You guys won't get cold?" "We'll take our sleeping bags," Luke countered. "And this evening has been getting freakish hot already. Tell him, Diego!" "It's true, Mr Frank," Diego confirmed. "It got much warmer when were getting back from the pond with Jerome." He opened his phone and scrolled through a couple of screens. "It's 82 degrees now and will only drop to 72 during the night." "Come on, Mr Frank, be a guy!" Luke pleaded. "You know what today means, right?!" "Well ...," Frank considered, "I suppose ..." "Thanks, Mr Frank, thanks!" Luke shouted. "You're the best!" "But text me when you get to the boat and again when you get to the other side!" Frank demanded. "Or I'm sending a search party!" "Sure, Mr Frank, will do! Don't worry about us!" Luke grabbed Diego's hand and pulled him towards the door. "Come on, Diego!" "Hey, Diego, don't forget the kite!" Frank reminded with a chuckle and Diego backtracked to pick up the box. Frank shook his head in bemusement, as door closed behind the boys, and started dialing the phone. "Ah, Luke, you know we've got bupkis in the fridge after yesterday's trip, right?" Diego quipped as they run towards their cabin. "Details, baby, details! Food ain't everything!" Luke retorted. "Besides, I can think of some other delicious source of nutrition for tonight, can't you?" He winked at Diego conspiratorially. "Oh, you're so bad!" Diego laughed, blushing. "Don't you know it?!" Luke laughed back as he punched Diego's shoulder. Once in their room, the boys started frantically packing for their night in the forest. They took two sleeping bags, a couple of sweatshirts in case the weather did get colder, several flashlights, and plenty of water. Diego also still had several oatmeal bars that he packed for the White Mountains trip but had not used then. In no time they were stumbling down the stairs of their cottage on the way out. At the bottom of the stairs they saw Margie who appeared to be quite out of breath. "Luke, Diego, sweethearts, wait, hold on a second," she stopped the boys. "Here, I got you some food for your camping trip." She handed Luke a large paper bag. "Frank told me you were sneaking out without dinner. That just won't do!" "Oh, my god, wow, Ms Margie, thank you!" Luke accepted the bag gratefully. "I can't believe you put it together so fast!" "Yeah, thanks, Ms Margie, you're a savior!" Diego echoed him. Margie hugged each of the boys warmly and waved them goodbye. "See, now we're saved and I'm not gonna have to eat you!" Diego joked as they walked down the hill. "Aww-w, damn, I was really looking forward to that," Luke pouted with a wicked snicker. "Oh, you!" Diego shook his head, laughing. When they reached the pier and loaded their stuff in one of the row-boats, Diego expected Luke to take the oars, as usual. However, Luke gestured to Diego towards the front seat: "You're in the driver seat today, elfy!" "Err, why?" Diego wondered as he took the oars. "First off," Luke started explaining as they cast off, "'cause you look damn sexy doing it, he-he. I mean, Diego, dude, those arm muscles, they've really been coming along! Ms Margie's cooking definitely agrees with you, babe!" Luke grinned at Diego brightly, and Diego blushed crimson red. "Second, I really got stuff to celebrate tonight, right?!" Luke expanded giddily. "I think I deserve a pony ride, don't you?" "I guess that's right," Diego admitted with an affectionate smile. "Of course I'm right!" Luke exclaimed. "Think of it, man. You talked to your folks and they told you that I'm freaking awesome! And that it's cool for us to be together. I mean, how great is that?!" "Well, yeah, of course it's amazing," Diego agreed. "Although ... they did say something 'bout you needing a new haircut ...," he added slyly. "Don't get smart with me, you pointy-eared gargoyle!" Luke waved at him dismissively. "To continue ... And then ... Jerome showed up! He's alive! And totally okay!! Diego, babe, do you get what this means?!!" "Yes, Luke, of course, I do ...," Diego started replying. "It means that it's finally over! I'm free!!" Luke stood up in the boat and hollered triumphantly at the top of his lungs. "Whoop-whoop!!! Yeah!!!" Several birds flew off from the shore nearby. "Come one, Luke, you're scaring the birds!" Diego laughed merrily. A large snapping turtle dove out of the water and back in next to the boat with a loud splash. "And the turtles!" "I don't care!" Luke declared, nevertheless sitting down. "Besides, you're an elf, you'll apologize to them for me!" "Yeah, right," Diego chuckled. Luke continued to stare at Diego, grinning widely, like a Cheshire Cat. Diego smiled back warmly as he rowed. "What?" he finally asked after a few minutes. "Have I got something on my face?" "I so wanna jump your bones right now!" Luke admitted with a giggle. "Oh, yeah," Diego rowed harder. "What's stopping you?" "I promised Mr Frank we wouldn't tip the boat over!" Luke confessed. They both burst into happy laughter. The rest of the boat ride went mostly in silence. Diego got a real kick of watching Luke being so exuberantly happy. The bright shining light from Luke's eyes, one could almost see it reflected in the still mirror surface of the pond. It was wonderful! Diego also unexpectedly enjoyed the feeling of rowing and having his arm muscles steadily stretch and contract. Perhaps Luke did have a point there ... The still air around them was very warm but not muggy, comfortable, like a nice soft feather blanket. "Strange," Diego thought, "it really should be cooler by now ..." The pond and the forest felt more quiet than usual, the sounds and even the smells more subdued, more delicate, slightly more hushed. The air was almost still, with only a slight breeze. Diego took a long deep breath. Yes, he could still feel the lulling peace of the forest around them. Sweet fragrance of the flowers and the trees, mixed with the damp dewy scent of the grass and forest floor. Soothing rustling of the trees and the shrubs in the forest. Frogs and crickets gently chirping in the distance. Diego inhaled the air again and smiled. They were welcome here. The boat docked at the far side of the pond and the boys quickly disembarked. As promised, Luke texted Frank, and they continued inside the forest on foot. By now the sun had set but the sky was clear and a bright almost full moon was looming large above. At first Luke got out a flashlight but he quickly put it away, as they could still see quite well without it. Diego and Luke moved quickly through the eerie twilight of the tranquil forest around them. Even Luke has piped down and was walking quietly, holding Diego's hand. Before they knew it, the boys reached old willow's meadow. "Home, sweet home!" Luke declared as they put their backpacks on the grass about twenty feet away from the old willow. "Wow," Diego exclaimed looking around, "this place, it looks so strange now. Almost like being on another planet ..." They surveyed the grassy field lit by the brilliant light of the giant silver moon above their heads. "Yeah, Mr Starman," Luke quipped, "before we launch your rocket ship, help me zip up these two sleeping bags together, will you?" Luke and Diego got out the two sleeping bags and zipped them along one side to create a large spread-type blanket that they stretched on the grass. "All right, Diego, babe, let's see what Ms Margie made for us," Luke suggested. "I'm feeling kinda hungry!" They opened the bag that Margie gave Luke. The bag turned out to contain some meatball sandwiches, a few pieces of grilled chicken, a cut cucumber, some apples, fresh peaches and a jar of milk. "Oh my god, Diego," Luke commented giddily as he bit into a juicy peach, "I think we're saved! You can put away those oatmeal bars, he-he." "I can't believe Ms Margie managed to put this bag together so quickly," Diego replied pensively. "We really should thank her ..." Diego put away the sandwich he was eating and got out his phone: "I am sending her a text." "Good thinking, elf-kid!" Luke exclaimed approvingly. After they finished their meal, Luke and Diego put away the rest of the food and snuggled next to each other on the spread. "You know, Diego," Luke suggested playfully. "It's far too early for bed yet. But there's other fun stuff we can do to celebrate ..." Luke nuzzled Diego's neck and Diego giggled softly. "Oh, yeah, like what?" Diego asked with feigned innocence. "Well, I could show you," Luke winked conspiratorially. "But you're way too overdressed for that. I think being naked is a requirement." Luke snickered wickedly and tugged on Diego's t-shirt with his teeth. "Well ...," Diego prolonged the suspense, "if it's a requirement ..." Giggling loudly, they both started shacking off their clothes frantically and were soon both naked. Diego lay on his back with his head turned towards Luke, smiling sweetly. Luke was on his belly, next to Diego, watching him intently. "Oh, my god, Diego, babe!" Luke buried his face in the nape of Diego's neck, and Diego gently caressed his ears and cheeks. "I don't know if it's this moonlight or what," Luke lifted his face, "but you just look impossibly beautiful tonight!" Diego smiled at Luke silently and Luke pulled himself up, his face hovering right above Diego's. Luke peered right into Diego's wide open eyes, their faces almost touching, the light shining in their glances reflecting back and forth. "Ah, Luke, what are you doing?" Diego whispered with a soft chuckle. "I really wanna see what's behind those," Luke whispered back. "Come on, elfy, someday you're gonna let me in on your secret magic!" "If ever figure it out myself," Diego quipped. "Oh, I can wait," Luke sighed and rolled on his side next to Diego, facing him. Luke placed his hand on Diego's smooth chest and stroked it gently. Diego exhaled audibly. Luke's hand slowly travelled down Diego's tummy and reached his groin, closing around Diego's semi-hard delicate brown dick. "Oh, god, Diego, you got no idea how lovely this feels!" Luke breathed out as he gently caressed and squeezed Diego's boy member. Diego opened his mouth, moaned softly and buckled his hips up slightly. Luke could feel Diego's silky dick slowly pulse and breathe in his loving hand. Luke leaned and kissed Diego's large taut nipple: "Oh, my god, elf-boy, I'm never letting you go. Ever." Luke gripped Diego's dick a little tighter. "Ah, Luke," Diego whispered with a sudden embarrassment in his voice. "I think you're gonna have to. I really have to go." "What?" Luke looked up, perplexed. "I mean I have to 'go'," Diego explained with a guilty smile. "I mean I really need to pee. So ..." "So ...," a wily light blazed in Luke's green eyes. "If you gotta 'go', you gotta 'go'. But I'm still not letting you go!" "Ah, Luke, come on, give me a break," Diego started protesting. "No breaks, elf-boy," Luke interrupted. "You just will have to learn to pee with me holding you." "What??!" Diego exclaimed in disbelief. "Okay, get up," Luke directed with determination, still holding on to Diego's dick. They both got up, somewhat awkwardly. "Now what?" Diego chuckled. "Now we walk towards those trees over there," Luke explained. "Move it, buster." Moving in a weird tandem and giggling manically, the boys made it to the edge of the meadow in the direction that Luke pointed. "Okay," Diego uttered as they stood in front of a large cedar, "what next?" "Next," Luke smirked wickedly, "next, Diego, babe, you do your thing. You still need to 'go', right? So 'go'!" "I don't know if I can!" Diego shuddered, laughing. "First off, Luke, you might have noticed that you got me hard. Second, I gotta stop laughing first." "Well," Luke was nonplussed, "think of something sad and non-sexy. Oh, I know. Breanna's breasts! No, Ritchie trying to go for Breanna's breasts!" "Okay, Luke, please stop, stop!" Diego begged, convulsing in laughter. "You're really not helping! Okay, okay just give me a moment ... Just don't hold me so tight ..." Luke loosened his grip on Diego's member a bit. Diego concentrated on slowing his breathing. In a little while his bladder let loose and they heard a steady stream hit the forest floor. "Wow," Luke commented quietly, looking down. "Diego, dude, that is beautiful." "Luke, come on," Diego complained. "If I lose my concentration, I'll start laughing again." "No, Diego, I'm serious," Luke pressed. "You said it yourself before: 'Nothing that comes off you is gross'. Well, elf-boy, that goes double for you! And peeing, well, it's just a part of life, man!" "All right, all right, Mr Socrates," Diego interrupted, "I'm all done." Luke noticed that indeed Diego's stream had ceased. "Well, what do you think?" Luke inquired, giving Diego's member a nice shake. "I think," Diego replied slowly, "that I'm really glad we did this after I talked to my parents and not before." The quiet tranquility of the forest was again disturbed by an explosion of laughter from the boys. "Ah, Luke, look over there," Diego pointed as they were calming down. "A screech owl!" "What? Where?" Luke queried, losing his concentration and releasing his grip on Diego. With a loud giggle, Diego turned around and took off across the meadow. "Oh, I'm gonna get you for this, elf-sneak! I'm gonna get you!" Luke shouted out as he run after Diego. The two naked forms streaked rapidly along the grassy field. Diego made several evasive maneuvers but Luke was quickly gaining on him. Diego shrieked as once or twice Luke's hand grazed him. Finally Luke caught Diego's foot and crashed onto him, both of them laughing hysterically. Diego turned around and Luke pinned him down, pushing Diego's hands above his head. "I got you!" Luke declared triumphantly as he kissed Diego's lips. "I got you!" Diego replied, as he wrapped his arms around Luke's torso and returned a long tender kiss. Luke stared at Diego with a happy playful smile as Diego caressed Luke's face. "Oi!" Diego whelped suddenly. "What? What is it?" Luke recoiled. "I've got a twig in my butt," Diego explained with an embarrassed giggle. "Oh, a twig in your butt, eh? Well, let's see if we can replace it with something more interesting, he-he!" Luke snickered wickedly. He got up and scooped up Diego holding him below the knees with one hand and around the shoulders with another. "Come on, Luke, put me down!" Diego squealed, kicking his feet but holding on to Luke's neck. "No chance, elf-kid, tonight you're mine!" Luke retorted as he cradled Diego tighter and carried him towards the rolled out spread of sleeping bags. The boys collapsed on the spread in uproarious laughter. "Still need help with that twig?" Luke squeezed out, while lying on his back and breathing heavily. "No, fell out," Diego replied as he rolled next to Luke and caressed Luke's chest. "Pity," Luke quipped. "I really wanted to help you with that!" They both tried to catch their breath. "You know, Luke," Diego added tracing a gentle circle with his finger around Luke's nipple, "I really, really love your body!" "Oh, yeah?" Luke inquired slyly, rising up on his elbows. "What do you like 'bout it? Tell me!" "I'll tell you," Diego offered with a wily giggle. "But you gotta promise not to interfere. Your body, it's mine, okay?" "U-u-u, I like it already!" Luke stretched his legs and wiggled his ties. "Okay!" "Well," Diego began, "I like how strong you are. And how many muscles you've got. Everywhere." Diego's hand travelled around Luke's taut stomach and the flanks of his torso, caressing it gently. Luke hissed and trembled under Diego's touch, breathing in through his mouth. "Really, we've gotta look up what all of these muscles are even called," Diego chuckled as he leaned down and softly kissed Luke's tummy. Luke cooed appreciatively. "I like how warm you are. Always. Any time." Diego pressed his cheek against Luke's peck. "I like how good you smell," Diego stuck his nose under Luke's armpit and inhaled deeply. "Amazing!" Luke giggled loudly. "And I like how good you taste!" Diego clamped his lips around Luke's small erect nipple and flickered his tongue along it, causing Luke to whelp and jump up noticeably. "And I love that you let me touch you. Everywhere," Diego whispered with a soft chuckled as both his hands roamed freely all over Luke's naked torso. "Oh, that tickles!" Luke mock protested, wiggling his pelvis. "Tough luck!" Diego carried on his caresses without mercy. "Ah!" Luke exhaled huskily. "And then," Diego continued in a low voice, "we have this special beautiful muscle over here ..." He gently grabbed Luke's dick which by now was fully erect, proudly pointing upward. "Hey, now you're just not playing fair!" Luke lost all composure and rolled forward, laughing hysterically. Luke's face now was by Diego's feet, and he turned around, on his side, still laughing: "Diego, you're one vicious little dude! And that haircut only made you worse!" "Maybe," Diego caught Luke's foot. "But you deserve it!" The two naked boys looked at each other, grinning. Suddenly both seemed to have been struck with the same idea. Luke reached for Diego's dick, and Diego for Luke's. They shifted closer to each other and almost simultaneously clamped their mouths around each other's young penises. Diego used his fingers to gently massage Luke's moist pink balls. Luke moaned and almost slipped Diego's dick out of his mouth. He then concentrated and returned the favor by caressing Diego's velvety delicate brown pouch. Both boys suckled harder and harder, savoring each other's delicious nectar, curling tighter and tighter into a ball of trembling limbs, like a pair of twins in a womb. They didn't last long. Soon a sweet explosion came, followed by a burst of merry laughter. Luke turned around and crawled up, facing Diego. Reaching his face, Luke rubbed noses with Diego and giggled gently: "Wow! That was new. And delicious!" He reached out and caressed Diego's ear. "It was amazing," Diego sighed softly, putting his arm around Luke's torso. The boys stared in each other's eyes, smiling happily. Diego's hand traveled down along Luke's tummy, reaching his now sensitive dick and caressed it lightly. "But you know, Luke," Diego whispered shyly, looking down, "I still want this ... want you inside me ... Think you can do that? Please?" Diego lifted his glance and looked Luke in the eyes again with a bashful smile. Even in the twilight of the summer evening Luke could see a light blush cover Diego's face. "Damn, Diego, you know I can't say 'no' when you ask me like THAT," Luke chuckled as he returned Diego's smile. "Just give me a moment, okay, babe?" Luke touched his forehead against Diego's as they rested for a few minutes, caressing each other softly. "All right, Diego, I think Mister Fantastic is ready to go," Luke whispered, breaking the silence. "Mister Fantastic, eh?" Diego whispered back as he gave Luke's dick a gentle pull. "This was the guy who could stretch his body like rubber for like a hundred feet, right? Maybe we should test it?" Diego again pulled Luke's hardened dick with a wicked giggle. "Damn, Diego, you really are a vicious little dude!" Luke leaned in and kissed Diego's lips. "What do you say we do it doggy style this time? We haven't tried it before. Could be fun ..." "Okay," Diego whispered back softly. Diego turned around and stood on all fours, placing his body weight on the elbows in front of him and spreading apart his knees to give Luke better access. He felt Luke jostle behind him and get in position. Luke's hand gently rested on Diego's back. "Ready, babe?" Luke's voice whispered from above. "Yeah," Diego replied, keeping his head down, "go ahead." He felt Luke starting to enter him. "Wait, Luke, wait," Diego raised his head. "What?" Luke froze. "Am I hurting you, Diego, babe?!" "No, it's not that ...," Diego hesitated. "It's just ... I can't see you ... Doesn't feel right." "Oh." Luke quickly withdrew. He pulled Diego up, turned him around and took him in a warm embrace, both boys standing on their knees, facing each other. "Sorry, Luke, I just ... " Diego stumbled, looking down. "Hey, hey, hey, nothing to be sorry about!" Luke lifted Diego's chin with his finger and looked into his eyes with a tender smile. "We just try something else. Hey, I've got an idea!" Luke lay down on his back, spreading his legs slightly and gestured Diego towards his pelvis. Diego hesitated at first but quickly understood what Luke had in mind. Diego turned to face Luke, straddled his hips and slowly crouched himself above Luke's still fully erect dick. Diego exhaled as the slick head touched the soft delicate cheeks of his buttocks. Luke rubbed Diego's thigh in encouragement. Diego reached below, aimed for the entrance and very slowly lowered himself onto Luke's waiting member. He winced slightly and sucked in the air. "Diego, babe, you okay?" Luke asked anxiously. "Do you wanna stop?" "Good, I'm good," Luke reassured. "Just give me a sec ..." Diego continued working himself onto Luke's dick until Luke was completely in and almost the full weight of Diego's body rested on Luke's pelvis. "Is that better?" Luke inquired softly. "Uh-huh," Diego finally looked up and smiled: "Now I see you!" Luke reach up and touched Diego's chest with his right hand. Cool creamy fluid skin. Heart beating, right under his fingers. Bo-boom-bo-boom. Diego's heart. Oh, god! Luke's muscular stomach contracted. He almost couldn't breathe, and his eyes watered. Luke's hand moved down. Diego's dick. Smooth silk. So precious. So alive. My sweet nightingale. Ah! Ah! Being inside him. Sweet fire. It just can't be! Ah! Ah! No, need to get closer! Luke sat up and embraced Diego, during his face in Diego's chest, sobbing wordlessly, holding Diego's delicate shoulder blades, caressing the small of his back. Diego continued to move up and down and run his fingers through Luke's wavy hair and along Luke's strong sweat drenched spine. Luke felt as if he was floating. He no longer knew where his body ended and Diego's began. He was lost. Lost in the wave of sweet liquid fire enveloping his loins. Pulsing, breathing, moving like a lake of hot lava, setting all of his nerve endings alight with exquisite pleasure and joy. Lost in Diego's bright shining eyes, the slim, lithe, streaming, flowing shape of his body. A beautiful boy sprite in his arms. Sweet heady lavender smell. Fresh taste of summer honey. Soft silky skin, cool and hot at the same time. Glowing under the moonlight. So lovely. Such grace. So-o-o sweet. Lavender smell! Mmm-mhph. Ah-h. Ah. Ah. Love you. Keep you safe. Ah. Ah. Ah! So precious! So! Beautiful! Kisses. Kisses. Kisses. Mmm-mhph!!! Stars!! Stars!!! A-a-a-a-a-a-a-h!! When Luke came to, he was lying on his back, with Diego on top of him, their lips still locked in a passionate kiss. Blood was throbbing in Luke's ears, his heart was pounding and his was breathing heavily. Diego slowly lifted his face, while continuing to hold on to Luke's shoulders, and smiled with a light playful chuckle. "Wha ... What just happened?" Luke finally squeezed out catching his breath. "I think," Diego whispered softly, "we've just been to the stars and back. Maybe to our supernova. Or at least to the moon." Diego turned his head and motioned upward towards the moon shining brightly above them. He then leaned in and gave Luke a soft tender kiss. "Wow," Luke started stirring his body, "yeah, it sure feels like it ..." "Wait, Luke, please, wait," Diego gently pushed Luke's chest down. "I want you to stay in me a bit longer. Please?" "I'm still inside you?" Luke wondered as his eyes opened wider. "Sorry, babe, I didn't ...," he trailed off. "Yes, Mister Fantastic, you are!" Diego confirmed with a gentle giggle. "And I still want you there ..." Diego again lay on Luke's chest clutching his arms around him. Luke gently stroked Diego's back, now also covered in fresh delicious sweat and Diego cooed softly. With his left hand Luke reached down for his balls and felt the point of entry. "Just checkin'," he joked in a low whisper as he kissed the top of Diego's head. Diego sighed deeply and rolled off from Luke, finally detaching them. He nestled next to Luke, staring at the clear evening sky above them. Luke turned on his side to face Diego and realized that Diego's chest was covered with more than just sweat. He dipped his finger in the gooey liquid and put the finger in his mouth: "Mmmm, elf-boy, I see you left me a nice evening snack!" "What?!" Diego raised his face in surprise. "Relax, Diego, babe, relax," Luke giggled wickedly. "You're just getting a night bath!" With that Luke buried his face in Diego's stomach and started lapping it clean with rapid hot licks. Diego squealed and laughed raucously, grabbing Luke's head by the ears: "Stop, Luke, stop!" "No," Luke replied mercilessly without lifting his head, "not till a certain stinky elf-boy is all good and clean for the night!" Luke's warm tongue moved up Diego's smooth chest and neck, reaching his face. "Looks like you got yourself on the chin too, babe," Luke declared slyly as he gave Diego's chin a long wet lick. "Oh, shut up!" Diego mock pouted as he tweaked a stubborn lock of Luke's brown hair. "Now, all better!" Luke declared with a wily grin as he rolled on his side next to Diego. "Now we're all done!" "No, we're not!" Diego countered with a laugh. He rapidly slid down Luke's body and grabbed his sensitive deflated dick. "Wait, Diego, dude, you don't have to ... Ah!" Luke started protesting but was quickly interrupted by the slurping sound of Diego's mouth closing around the head of Luke's penis, still slick with cum and love juice. "Ah!" Luke repeated as he felt Diego's fingers gently squeeze the head and his tongue delicately clean under the loose foreskin. A few moments later Diego climbed back up next to him, grinning broadly: "NOW we are all done!" Diego's eyes twinkled and shone with warm playful light. Both boys chuckled and touched their foreheads. "Ah, come here, my little horny froglet!" Luke pulled Diego on top of him and wrapped his arms around Diego's back. Diego splashed onto Luke's muscular frame and glued his ear to Luke's warm peck. "Mmmm, nice!" he breathed as he tickled Luke's other peck gently. "You could say that again!" Luke held Diego tighter and wiggled his pelvis slightly. "But we should really zip up the bags soon, it's getting kinda chilly ..." "It can wait a bit," Diego quipped cheekily in response. "I still got this super warm pillow under me, he-he!" He pressed into Luke harder. "Oh, you!" Luke laughed gently. He lifted Diego's head and kissed him on the nose. Diego beamed at Luke silently for a few moments. "Luke, do you think we're crazy?" he asked softly. "What?" Luke was bewildered. "I mean ... That we're so happy," Diego explained. "That's gotta be crazy, right?" "Wait, babe, what's wrong with being happy?" Luke retorted. "Didn't we talk 'bout it already?" "Well, I mean ... Here we are, two orphans. We've got nothing, no families, no homes, no stuff, no money, no video games, nothing. All we've got is each other." Diego smiled kissed Luke sweetly. "And yet I've never ever been so happy as I'm now, being with you, Luke. Never. That has got to be crazy, right?" "Oh, Diego, babe, of course, we're crazy, he-he!" Luke replied emphatically. "But so what?!" "But ...," Diego protested. "No butts!" Luke snickered. "Don't you sell love short, Diego! Of course, I'm happy! I've got you! How many other kids out there have gotten a beautiful super-sweet sexy elf for a boyfriend, eh?" Luke hugged Diego tighter and stroked his back tenderly. "That fucking vampire Brother Peter is locked up. Jerome's alive. It's over! Whoop-whoop!!" Luke rose up slightly and emitted a loud delighted whoop. "Luke, the poor birds have just gone to sleep and you're scaring them again," Diego laughed, covering his ears. "Let them!" Luke sassed. "But Diego, man, don't you sell Green Oaks short either", he continued in a more serious tone. You know I love you to bits but I love Green Oaks too. Think of it, dude. We've gotten this pond and this forest, all to ourselves, how cool is that?" "Yeah, sure ...," Diego agreed. "And we've got the workshop, and the pottering and woodworking, right?" Luke carried on enthusiastically. "And we've got Summer and Gaia and Lady and Amber and Roxie! And the guys! Think of it, man, we've just made love under the moon in the middle of a freaking forest. We've been to the stars and back. And Mr Frank is totally chill with that! Here at Green Oaks even a worthless stupid trailer trash kid like me is having a ball. Shit, Diego, I've seen lotsa places for kids like us before I got here and trust me, Jerome is right: I'seen no other places like Green Oaks, not even close!" Diego slowly slid from Luke and settled next to him, laying on the side, his chin propped on his elbow, listening with a fond smile. "I know you love Green Oaks, Luke," he admitted quietly. "And you're probably right ..." Luke turned towards him and continued animatedly: "Of course I'm right, man! And all those 'normal kids' with 'normal' fucking families, you think their lives aren't crazy? Shit, I've seen lotsa them at school. Most are stuck at home, playing those stupid video games all day. Well, screw that!" Luke's face changed to a disdainful scowl. "And the ones that got some brains, they usually got it even worse. The parents sticking them in ballet, debate club, science club, extra tutoring on top, all that shit. Already planning for college and medical school or law school, whatever. Think these kids are happy? Fuck that! There's a boy at school, in our grade, his name is Derek, you'll meet him. Some sort of a science wiz, physics and stuff." "Hey, physics is cool," Diego offered mildly. "Yeah, Diego, to you, physics is cool." Luke was undeterred. "To Derek, maybe it was cool like two years ago. By now his folks have piled so much fucking shit onto him that the dude has started cutting himself, I swear to god. Think he ever camped for the night in a forest? Shit, no! Now, tell me that's not fucking crazy!" "Wow," Diego reflected wistfully. "First off, Luke, I really love it that you care so much about this stuff. I do! My hunky demigod with the heart the size of Jupiter!" Diego chuckled lightly. "Now you're making fun of me!" Luke pouted. "No, I'm not!" Diego asserted emphatically. "I mean it!" He leaned in and kissed Luke's chest gently. Luke grinned back and stroked Diego's smooth honey-colored shoulder. "I'm also thinking," Diego added, "maybe we should invite Derek here sometime? To spend the night in the forest and watch the stars with us. Think his parents would let him? I mean, it'd also be like a real astronomy project ..." Diego stared at Luke with a sweet smile. "Wow, Diego, babe, see that's why I love you, he-he!" Luke exclaimed with a warm chuckle. "Well, one of the reasons, anyway. Yeah, sure, we can invite Derek. If his 'rents let him. Just don't expect a freaking threesome, he-he, he's not that cute!" "Well, no, I wasn't ...," Diego started explaining awkwardly. "Oh, come on, Diego, babe, I'm kidding!" Luke burst in affectionate laughter. "Man, it's still way too easy to pull your leg!" He wrapped his arm around Diego's slender torso and pulled him closer. "Hey, Luke?" Diego whispered softly. "Yeah, babe?" Luke replied quietly as nuzzled Diego's neck. "I liked most of what you said. Except for one thing," Diego separated from Luke a bit and looked at him earnestly. "What, my fucking salty language, he-he?" Luke asked jokingly. "No, that's fine," Diego shook his head. "It's a part of you, somehow, it's not that." "What, then?" Luke pressed. "It's that you put yourself down. And not just now," Diego frowned. "You might be from a trailer park but you're not worthless. And you're not stupid. You're plenty smart! And those smart kids, planning for college and law school, I bet you're smarter than most of them and can do better than them too." "Oh, come on, Diego, who are kidding?" Luke smirked in disbelief. "I'm not! I'm being totally serious," Diego spoke with conviction. "You said it yourself, I was a city kid, and I've known a lot more of kids like that than you did. Think of all the books you've read. By yourself, because you wanted to, or with me. Take all the books in our room. You think Derek read 'Quentin Durward'? Or 'From the Earth to the Moon'? Or 'The Cap and the Bells'? I doubt it." Diego paused and touched Luke's face, brushing away the messy damp locks of wavy brown hair from Luke's forehead. Luke's green eyes glowed with gentle light. "And think of all the things you can do," Diego continued almost breathlessly. "Pottering. Woodworking. Sketching. Horse riding. Making a cow move. How to tell a loon from a duck. And all the plants and animals you taught me. It's awesome. It's amazing. You're totally amazing!" Diego peered Luke in the eyes the a sincere passionate expression. "And I'm not just saying this 'cause I love you. That woman from the CPS, Ms Jessica, she saw it too, remember? So I just hate it when you call yourself worthless. 'Cause you're not. You're definitely not!" A long silent pause followed as Luke stared back at Diego. Grateful tears welled up in Luke's happy green eyes. "Oh, my god, Diego, did I say that I love you?!" Luke leaned forward and kissed Diego with hungry urgency. "Well, I do! So fucking much!!" Luke let Diego go and grinned at him happily. "Thanks, elf-boy, thanks! You might be right, I donno. I'll have to think it over later. But tonight I just wanna be happy! It's been a day!" "Yeah, it's been a day," Diego agreed as he snuggled closely next to Luke, "it's definitely been a day ..." A bright silvery moon shone down at two young naked figures cuddled together in a grassy meadow on a balmy August evening. The old willow was watching over them. *******************
