Chapter Two A Story by Peyton "The kiss without a doubt and a touch of curiosity, you kissed me and I could think of nothing else for days. It was so sensual, so soft and full of emotion. It still gives me goose bumps when I think of it. I don't know if it was because you were the first woman to kiss me like that or because it came from you," Vic stated. "Then you touched my arm and I felt a warm rush flow through me." "Then I guess before we leave tonight we will have to find out. You are my ride home," Jana sweetly said. "We haven't made it dancing but I think under the circumstance we can do without dancing for tonight," Jana smiled touching Vic's arm with her fingertips. They sat there starring into each other's eyes, Jana caressing Vic's arm when the waiter asked if there was anything else he could get them. "Just the check, thank you," Jana finally broke the spell between the two to answer the waiter. Both of them went to pay the bill at the same time. "Let me take care of this. I asked you out and then had to have you come pick me up," Jana reasoned. "What are you going to do for a car tomorrow?" Vic asked. "Rental, that's what my insurance is for. I'll call them tomorrow and have them deliver a car until mine is fixed," Jana replied. The drive home was awkward each anticipating what might happen. Vic drove up in the driveway and stopped the car. "Come in side at least for a nightcap or coffee before you go," Jana told Vic. Once inside Jana had Vic take a seat while she went into the kitchen to fix coffee for the two of them. When Jana came out she asked, "I've been meaning to ask you about your name. How did you get the name Vic?" "My mom wanted the name me Victoria after her grandmother and my dad wanted a boy. So they compromised and mom calls me Vickie and my dad calls me Vic. In time I became Vic but I answer to both," Vic stated. They sat there in silence for what seemed like a half an hour but was only a few moments just looking at each other with their eyes gleaming. "I feel like a teenager sitting in my parent's parlor afraid to get too close so we don't get caught. I would like to kiss you but don't know the proper way to go about it," Jana shyly said. "I know the feeling. My stomach is full of butterflies and I must be three shades of red in anticipation," Vic said. Jana took Vic's hand in hers and moved closer to Vic. She stared into Vic's eyes then glanced down towards Vic's lips seeing them quiver slightly. Jana put her arm around Vic and slowly leaned forward. She stopped for what Vic thought was forever then closed the distance and they kissed. It wasn't an overly passionate kiss but enough for Vic to feel the same feeling she had experienced with the first kiss she received from Jana. She closed her eyes and let out a moan that told Jana she had done the right thing. "Was it the same as the other night?" Jana asked her after releasing her lips. Vic looked as if she was studying Jana's lips then with her fingertips she placed on Jana's jaw, pulled Jana in and kissed her with more passion. "I don't know if I can describe it. It is beyond my comprehension. To say it is the same as last time means the last time had little effect on me. This one was unbelievable," Vic stated. "Does that answer your question?" They kissed again pulling each other in tighter. Jana was the first to pull back both having the need to breathe. "I feel like this is the time to ask you to spend the night but I don't want to rush you or me into something we will regret tomorrow. I feel you are special Vic and anything we do I don't want it rushed so this will develop into something very special," Jana spoke. "I understand. I wasn't prepared to spend the night anyway. I don't want to rush into anything. I think the world of you Jana. This is all new to me so I am at your mercy to guide me at the pace that suits you. I feel I am ready for anything and several weeks ago I would never have thought about the possibility of having sex with a woman. Now I am giddy about the aspects of making love to you," Vic smiled as she said it. They kissed some more and Vic became more comfortable in the arms of Jana. She lay back allowing Jana to half lay on top of her. Her dress had risen up and her panties depending on how they moved were exposed as were Jana's. Jana's hands were on Vic's hair and neck as she kissed Vic with the total passion she was now feeling towards Vic. They each moaned as they kissed looking at each other with their eyes as they glistened with the feelings they were each feeling towards the other. Jana had never felt this way before with a woman. Vic had never had these feeling before with either a man or a woman. Vic's hand had been holding Jana's cheeks but she moved them to Jana's back pausing before she moved them down to her butt. Their breathing had elevated and Jana began to rub her pussy on Vic's leg when she suddenly stopped. "We need to stop before this goes any farther or I won't be able to stop myself. I know you think you want to do everything tonight and I want to too, but believe me tomorrow you will feel different," Jana said as she sat up. "Are you sure it's not me?" Vic asked worried as she pushed her dress down. "Yes it is," Jana said which shocked Vic and for a second then hurt her. "I've never felt this way before about anyone, not even my ex," Jana went on to explain. "It's scary to think I have these feeling towards you after only seeing you two times. I need a day to absorb and digest what is happening." "Take all the time you need. I feel the same way," Vic said. "I would say I want to see you tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that but that is pushing it, so give me a call when we each have had time sort to things out," Vic stated. They kissed again at the door hugging each other tightly not wanting the other to leave. Jana with her fingers on Vic's face kissed Vic on the lips then grabbed Vic's hands as Vic walked to her car. Jana watched the whole time as Vic started her car and drove away. Sleep evaded both as they thought about the other and the kisses they shared. For Vic it was extra special as she had never experienced this feeling she was experiencing before. She didn't bring her toys out as they would have made her feel it was all about sex and that wasn't what she was feeling. It was love, no question about it. She was rapidly falling in love. And Jana White was her name. She couldn't wait for tomorrow's soccer game so she could tell her best friend Faith about what and how she was feeling. The next day at the game on Saturday since Faith had watched Addie the night before, Vic showed up alone. Faith was already there as she and the girls had to be there earlier for warm ups. Faith had already texted Vic she had coffee for the two of them. Vic, before she went up to sit next to Faith, went over to the sidelines to tell Addie she was there. "Hey pumpkin," Vic said. "Mom, I told you not to call me that out here. It's embarrassing," Addie scolded her mom. "Sorry pumpkin force of habit. Did you have fun at Marilyn's last night?" Vic asked. "Yes, it was a blast. How was your date last night?" Addie asked. "It was fine, good luck today," Vic added not wanting to tell Addie about her date until they were alone. "My child just scolded me for calling her pumpkin. It's embarrassing she said," Vic laughed after sitting down be Faith. "I told Marilyn I could call her any nickname I wanted. It's a parent's prerogative," Faith stated. Faith and Vic sat there with Faith looking at Vic for a period of time before Vic said anything. "You're staring at me," Vic said. "You want me to drag it out of you don't you?" Faith said half joking and half serious. "Your date last night!" she then exclaimed. Vic looked over at Faith. "You remember me telling you about the kiss?" Faith nodded like she no longer was interested to get back at her friend for having to drag it out of her. "We kissed again. Actually I had to take her home because on the way there her car broke down. We were like kids making out until it got heated and she stopped it. I could have spent the night but she said we might regret it in the morning. She told me she was falling in love with me and didn't want us to do anything we were going to regret until we had time to think about it," Vic told Faith. "And you believed her?" Faith asked. "That sounds like a line if I've ever heard one." "Yes I did. Believe it or not, she could have taken me at any time. I told her so. I was that willing. Her kisses were like heaven and her touch sent shivers through me but she said we should wait. It would mean more to both of us," Vic explained. "Are you going to tell Addie? She spent the whole night talking about the mystery man you went out with and she'd hoped you finally met Mr. Mc Dreamy so you two would have a family again," Faith explained to Vic. "I'll tell her after the game. We left meeting again open. She can't meet but every fourth week. She has to watch her daughter the other times. Vic said now sounding somewhat disappointed once she heard herself say it out loud. "Did you hear yourself?" Faith questioned. "What kind of person who is that interested in someone makes them wait four weeks between dates? Sounds like your lady friend has figured you out and is leading you on." "I can't believe that she would do that. She sounded so sincere. I'll wait and reserve my thoughts until the next time we see each other," Vic responded. Nothing more was said between Faith and Vic though Vic had an idea Faith was against this whole thing of her dating Jana. Her actions didn't sound as though she had trust in Vic to make the right or responsible decision for what was best for her or Addie. She certainly didn't know what she had felt when Jana had kissed her. Only time would tell. After the game Addie asked her mom whether or not it was alright if Marilyn spent the night. "Addie and her mom are going to be busy. They have some things to do," Faith told Marilyn with Addie and Vic listening. "What things?"Addie questioned her mother. "I'll tell you in the car on the way home," Vic told Addie. Once they were in the car Addie, the impatient one, was again asking her mom. "What things do we have to do?" "Well you know that date I went on last night? I believe you told Mrs. Rosewood it was with Mr. Mc Dreamy?" Vic asked laughing. "I can dream can't I," Addie embarrassed her mom knew what she had told Faith. "Yes, you can but your dreams are off. It's Ms. Mc Dreamy not Mr.," Vic told Addie and waited for her brain to absorb what she had told her. "Wait! That would mean you went out with a girl?" Addie questioned her mom. "Yes, is that alright?" Vic answered. "But mom, that would mean you are a dyke?" Addie questioned more. "Addie that's not very nice to be calling someone that. Do you think of me as a dyke? The proper term is a lesbian," Vic explained to her daughter. "But I just started dating her so I can't for sure say what I am yet. Addie I need to know you are alright with this because if you're not, I'll stop seeing her." "Are you happy with her?" Addie asked seriously sounding sincere. "I am extremely happy with her! Would you like to meet her?" Vic proposed. "If you want me to," Addie said hesitantly. "She has a daughter although she is fifteen and a bit of a problem according to her mom. Hopefully you'll be a good influence on her," Vic explained to her daughter. "As long as she hasn't gone all goth, we can find a way to get along. I don't like that look and I don't trust people who dress that way," Addie stated. "Thank you. You don't know how much that means to me to hear you say that," Vic said to Addie. Then she added, "Do you know many girls who dress all goth?" "We have a few older girls who are into that with their black lipstick and eye makeup dressed in all black and spiked hair. They give me the willies," Addie stated. Vic didn't hear from Jana the following week. She thought about Jana almost all of her waking days and dreamt about her as she lay down to go to sleep each night. The next Saturday Vic took Addie to her soccer game. "You don't look your happy cheerful self this morning. Did you have a rough night?" her friend Faith asked her. "I didn't sleep well, that's all," she replied. "Is it about your girlfriend?" Faith asked with a tone that Vic could tell that Faith didn't approve of her seeing Jana. "She's not my girlfriend. She is a woman who I have been out with once. There is no girlfriend," Vic stated irritated at her friend making assumptions. Then there was a pause between the two of them before Vic again said "Why do you talk about her like that? You told me you would support me no matter what. If I recall you said you would be there for me one hundred percent if I chose this way to go with my life," Vic said being a little on the defensive side. "That was before you got serious about her. You still know very little about her and everything you say about her raises more questions than are being answered. I'm trying to look after your best interest here," Faith explained. "You mean my best interest as you would like it to be for yourself, Marilyn and Addie's," Vic replied now irritated about the direction the conversation had turned. "I'm sorry if I've upset you" Faith said almost sounding sincere. "I'm already aware you don't approve but no one has asked me what I want. Addie says she doesn't mind and besides, her opinion is paramount. I would like my friend who I love and adore to at least give me the same appreciation and her stamp of approval. Can you do that for me, please?" Vic asked almost pleading. "I don't know if I can. I'll try but dating a woman goes against everything I was brought up to believe in," Faith apologized. "Well at least you're being honest with me," Vic said defeated she did not have her best friends approval. "I'm not asking you to date her. Just give her a chance. You haven't even met her yet." It was at this time Vic heard her name being called and she had to refocus to see who it was. Vic looked down and saw a familiar face waving to her. "Who's that?" Faith whispered to Vic. "It's Chris, the lady who bought our coffee for us the other day." Vic waived back as Chris climbed up the bleachers to where Vic was sitting. "Hi Chris, are we playing you this week?" Vic asked. "It looks that way. Mind if I sit?" Chris asked. "No not at all. Chris this is my best friend Faith. Her daughter Marilyn is number seven. My Addie is number five. What number is your daughter?" Vic said making the introductions. "Brooke is number five too. So we have daughters who are wearing matching numbers," Chris commented and smiled. "So it seems we do," Vic replied. "Feel free to cheer for Addie's team if you want to. You won't offend me. I only cheer for Brooke anyway. The coach and the rest of her team I could care less about," Chris said. "You sound like you don't like them," Faith said. "It's not that I don't like them but it's the snide remarks and the way they treat Brooke I could do without. I wish she was on another team but most of these girls are her classmates," Chris stated. "Now you have our interest. What sort of remarks?" Vic curiously asked. "Let's just say once I find a different place to live they are going to lose one of their best offensive players and leave it at that," Chris replied. The ladies were silent after that and watched the rest of the game not saying much to each other only commenting on a player or her efforts. After the game they got up to leave. "It was nice seeing you again Vic and nice meeting you Faith. Hope to see you again sometime," Chris said to Vic and Faith. "Nice to chat with you Chris. Take care," Vic responded to Chris. After Chris was out of earshot Faith spoke, "What do you suppose that was all about?" "I haven't the foggiest," Vic replied. "Whatever it is, it's obvious Chris doesn't care for the team or Brooke's coach." "I hope she is able to work it out as teams are usually organized by the school the players attend and I sort of like her," Faith told Vic. "I do too. She is sweet and kind not to mention pretty," Vic commented. "Look at you. Dating one woman and all of a sudden you're paying attention to other women who are friendly towards you. You're becoming a real lesbian on me," Faith laughed. "No, just saying what I see. She is a real looker," Vic said as she gazed at Chris as she walked away. Addie and Marilyn walked up arms around each other. "If it wasn't for that number five we could have held them scoreless. She scored two goals on us," Addie said to her mom. "Her name is Brooke, "Vic said. "You're friends with her mom? Consorting with the enemy, mom? I thought I have raised you better than that. Well she is good but we still won three to two," Addie said. Both Faith and Vic had to laugh at the choice of words used by Addie. "She must have learned it at school this week," Faith replied. "We just met her. I don't know if would call her friends and we weren't consorting. We were just being friendly. But I do like her," Vic commented to Addie as Faith looked at her to see what she could make of the comment Vic made. Vic waited to call Jana until mid-week not wanting to sound desperate but in reality it was difficult not to dial Jana's number each day. She waited until she was able to talk more normal so she waited until she was in bed and reading a book in her pajamas, "Hi, did you get your car squared away?" "Yes, insurance set me up with a rental which is newer and nicer than my car. I'm not in any hurry for them to fix my car. This one is much nicer than mine," Jana laughed. "I was thinking. I told Addie about you and Ava. She is anxious to meet both of you," Vic stated sounding meek and somewhat afraid. "I've been thinking about you too. I know I told you I needed time but I can't wait until we are together again. This last week and a half has been excruciating because I didn't want you to think I was overreacting yet I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you and had no interest in you," Jana told Vic. If Jana could have seen have seen the smile on Vic's face when Jana said what she said to her, she would have smiled too. "I was thinking we could get together for lunch on Saturday after the game and the girls could meet each other," Vic thought out loud. "I can't wait that long. I'll talk to my mom and see if she will make an exception and watch Ava on Friday night so we can see each other then. Then Saturday I could come to the game before we go out to lunch with the girls," Jana suggested sounding overjoyed. "I may be late to the game though. If my mom watches Ava on Friday, I'll have to have breakfast with my mom when I pick Ava up on Saturday. She likes to hear about the women I date. Not details but to ease her mind I'm not dating someone who will kill me." "I'm already liking your mom. She sounds like a caring mom and protective of her daughter and granddaughter," Vic said. "What did you have in mind for Friday night?" Vic now asked feeling excited. "Let me talk to my mom first, because if she won't help me out then I have to wait until Saturday before we can get together," Jana stated. "Let's hope she is in a helping mood. You know if she isn't you and Ava could come over here or the four of us could go to the movies as long as you don't mind seeing a PG-thirteen. I won't let Addie into anything with a higher rating," Vic told Jana. "You let her in to PG-thirteen's? I would think PG is the most you would allow," Jana said. "I prefer PG but she is old enough and besides most PG-thirteen's these days only have language issues and she has heard enough of that from me it doesn't affect her anymore. Nudity and sex are more for the R rated movies," Vic explained. "Let me talk to my mom first. I would rather Friday be about you and me. I'll call her tomorrow. It's too late tonight. I'll give you a call tomorrow and let you know," Jana explained. "That will be fine. I look forward to hearing from you," Vic said and hung the phone up. She was super stoked as she hung up and sat starring at her phone smiling. She anxiously waited for the phone to ring again but Jana had told her it would be tomorrow because it was too late to call her tonight. Vic hesitated to go in to tell Addie the news as she knew Addie would be getting ready for bed and she figured this type of news would keep her awake with the excitement she had been feeling, so she opted to wait until the next day to tell her. Instead she thought of Jana in a sexual way with her one hand going to her pajama bottoms and slipping inside where she could feel the excitement had already awaken her. Her finger was gently stroking her clit as her other hand opened the top to her pajamas and she rolled the nipple of her breast as she let out a mew. The feelings were overwhelming to her. She gasped a few times then she came unexpectedly on her finger. She lay down satisfied with the vision of Jana soothing her mind until she fell asleep. The next day at work she received a call from Jana. "Hi, how are you? Did you get a goodnights rest?" Jana asked Vic. "I slept great, how about you?" Vic asked softly which Jana interpreted as she had probably done a similar thing as she had done after they had hung up. "I have some bad news about Friday," Jana offered. "I guess your talk with your mom didn't go so well?" Vic asked. "Not exactly. I mean she was okay with watching Ava but she had already made plans to help a friend of hers who recently lost her husband. How could I make her change her plans so I could go out?" Jana stated. "No you can't. And I wouldn't let you. We can go out anytime. We are still on for Saturday aren't we?" Vic questioned. "Yes, of course. I'm real sorry about Friday. I really wanted to see you," Jana apologized again. "Listen, family comes first and as much as your mother helps you, it's the least you can do for her," Vic responded. "I let Ava make plans with her friends for Friday night. She said she would be back no later than ten or ten-thirty at the latest so it wouldn't give us much time anyway. Now I can see you earlier on Saturday," Jana said softly and sweetly. "Call me when you get to the game and I'll tell you what field we are on. See you on Saturday," Vic replied just as soft and sweet as Jana had said. That Saturday Vic was excited and it showed. She was up early and made Addie eggs and toast while she flitted around the house. Addie looked at her as if she had lost her mind but the game today had her distracted as it was against the team that had beat them earlier in the season so she was too distracted to ask her mom what was up with her. They even arrived at the game early having to wait for the coach to arrive before they started their warm ups. When Faith and Marilyn arrived Faith gave her friend a strange look as if to say "What brings you here so early?" Faith climbed the steps to where they always sat and sat next to her friend. "You are here early. Did you get the time wrong or couldn't you sleep?" Faith quizzed Vic. "Neither, I ah, we ah," Vic hesitated and was silent for a minute then took a deep breath before she answered. "Jana and Ava are coming to Addie's game today," Vic stumbled to say knowing Faith wouldn't be thrilled about it. Faith was silent for a while then she turned to Vic, "Does Addie know?" she asked Vic. "No I didn't want her too nervous before the game," Vic stated. Nothing more was said by either until Vic received a message about halfway through the first half, "We're here. Where do I go? This place is huge. There must be ten fields?" "We're on field six today. As you face the fields come to your right and we are on the second field down on your left. I'll be waiting for you," Vic texted back. Vic turned to Faith, "They're here. Not that I don't expect you to be, but please be nice." "I'm always nice. Will I like her? I can't guarantee you that, but I'll be nice for you," Faith replied. A few minutes later, Vic saw Jana and her daughter walking her way looking for Vic. She waved catching Jana's attention who then waved back. Vic was up and down the steps before Jana could get close to her. They hugged a normal hug so as to not draw too much attention, then Vic took her hand and gave it a squeeze. "Vic, I'd like you to meet my daughter Ava. Ava this is Mrs. Langley," Jana introduced them. "Oh I can see your mother in you. Nice to meet you Ava," Vic said and smiled at Ava taking her hand in hers. Come on up I'll introduce you to my friend Faith." Vic led Ava by her hand with Jana following them up to where Faith was sitting. "Ava, I'd like you to meet a good friend of mine Mrs. Rosewood. Faith this is Ava. And this is her mother, Jana," Vic said proudly. "Nice to meet you Ava," Faith said. "And I've heard so much about you Jana. It's nice to finally get to meet you," Faith said and looked both of them over especially Jana. Ava sat next to her mom who was next to Vic who was next to Faith. It didn't go unnoticed to Faith that Vic held Jana's hand after they sat down. "Which one is Addie?" Jana asked right away. "She's number five back here and Marilyn, Faith's daughter is number seven." Faith touched Vic's shoulder who had turned to see what it was that Faith wanted. Faith mouthed "Both are very pretty" to Vic who mouthed back, "I told you they were. No short hair or masculine looks either." As Vic was facing Faith and mouthing to her about Jana and Ava, Ava was whispering to her mom, "She's beautiful," to which her mom whispered back to her and smiled, "I told you she was." "Ava, do you play soccer?" Vic asked. "Not anymore. I quit two years ago," Ava answered Vic. "Do you miss it?" Vic trying to keep Ava engaged in the conversation so she didn't feel left out. "Actually I do. Maybe I should get back into it," Ava told her much to her own mother's surprise as she hadn't heard Ava voice any interest in sports since she had discovered boys. The rest of the game proceeded with Addie's team winning thanks to a blocked shot by Addie that she sent the ball all the way down the field ending the game. Addie came rushing over after the game to ask her mom if she saw her win the game. "Did you see me block that kick that helped us win the game?" she exclaimed excitedly. "Yes, you played a great game. I'm very proud of you," Vic said giving Addie a hug with her arm. "Addie, this is Ms. White and her daughter Ava," Vic making the introductions. "Nice to meet you Mrs. White and nice to meet you too Ava. This is my friend Marilyn," Addie said back to both Jana and Ava. "Why thank you Addie. You are quite a good soccer player and so is your friend too. The two of you work very well together," Jana said. "Addie her name is Ms. White not Mrs. She isn't married," Vic corrected Addie. Jana put her arm around Addie and said, "You can call me Mrs. if you want or better yet, Jana if it is easier for you to remember. That is if your mom will let you," Jana smiled at Addie. "We have to run by the house and Addie needs to take a shower and change before we go out. Where are you parked?' Vic asked Jana. "I'm afraid I'm at the far end because I was so late in arriving," Jana stated. "No problem. I arrived early and I'm right outside the gate. I'll give you a ride to your car and you can then follow us back to the house," Vic said. She gave Jana and Ava a ride to their car then Jana followed them to Vic's house. They arrived at Vic's home a short time later. Once inside Jana commented, "Your place is gorgeous. Your taste in design is evident." Ava and Jana sat in the living room while Addie went upstairs to take her shower and change. Vic made herself busy by going into the bedroom and cleaning up. She didn't quite know why she was cleaning her bedroom other than in the back of her mind she hoped her and Jana would end up there. After a few minutes she came out to join Ava and Jana in the living room. A few minutes later they heard the hairdryer going indicating Addie was out of the shower and almost ready. "Where do you want to have lunch?" Vic asked Ava. "Oh it doesn't matter to me. Let's wait for Addie and let her decide," Ava said being polite. "If we let her decide we are going somewhere where they have pancakes. That seems to be her favorite food of late," Vic responded. "I like pancakes too so that would be agreeable to me," Ava said. "As long as they have something else besides pancakes, I'm good," Jana piped in. It wasn't long before Addie came bouncing down the steps wearing a short flutter sleeve top that didn't cover all of her abdomen and shorts which looked quite adorable on her. They all got in Jana's rental car and drove to where Addie and Ava could get pancakes and Jana and Vic could get a sandwich. "Addie, Ava played soccer up until two years ago," Vic told her daughter. "Really? What position did you play?" Addie asked Ava. "I played mostly as midfielder but I could play wingback too," Ava replied which started Ava and Addie to converse in their own world pretty much leaving Vic and Jana to talk between themselves. Vic and Addie said their goodbyes to Ava and Jana after lunch as Jana had errands to run. Vic and Addie went into the house where Addie turned to her mom. "Mom, I like both Ava and Ms. White. I don't mind you dating her. Ava says her mom is really cool and if she is okay with it, I can be too," Addie said which Vic was overjoyed at hearing. The next week Vic didn't hear from Jana until midweek of the following week. "Are you coming to the game on Saturday?" Vic asked. "No I don't believe I can make it until later in the day. But we can go to a late lunch if you are available?" Jana replied. "I can get someone to watch Addie and we can have some alone time?" Vic suggested. "Are you suggesting what I think you are? You don't think we are moving too fast do you?" Jana asked. "Now you are sounding like my best friend," Vic commented. "Well she has a point. Let's play it by ear. We might find after being together the better half of the day we don't like each other and just want to see each other occasionally," Jana suggested. "I don't see that happening at least from my perspective and no, I wasn't suggesting anything. I merely thought we could use the time without the distraction of our girls," Vic responded. "I don't see it happening either," Jana softly replied. Then Vic added, "We could use the time to tell each other all the juicy dark secrets we haven't discussed about each other yet." "Oh no. I'm trying my best to not scare you away before we have a chance with each other," Jana said and laughed. 'Whatever you're doing it's working. You had me the first night when you snuck in that kiss of yours," Vic stated softly. They talked another hour on the phone before they hung up. Vic was over the top after she hung up and it showed as Addie gave her funny looks when she kissed her goodnight. Saturday couldn't get here soon enough for either Vic or Jana. Both their daughters must have thought their mothers had lost their minds as each seemed to be in an extra good mood for the rest of that week. Saturday Jana picked Vic up after Addie had gone over to her Grandma's house because Faith suddenly was unable to watch Addie that day and night. Vic thought it strange Faith was unable to watch Addie because the day before she mentioned Scott and she weren't doing anything and she knew Faith was home doing housework. When Jana picked up Vic they discussed the situation about Faith. "I don't think my friend likes that I'm seeing you," Vic explained to Jana. "Why? Does she have something against me personally? I barely know her or does she have concerns about two women dating?" Jana asked. "I'm not sure. She told me she would support me one-hundred percent but that was before we actually went out. I don't think she has anything against you personally. I believe it is more about me dating a woman. It goes against how she was raised," Vic continued to explain to Jana. "Give her time and see. You know it is not easy for some to accept this sort of thing. Don't expect all of your friends to accept this. You will find some you'll lose as friends and you'll gain others who you don't know," Jana told her. Vic and Jana discussed going to a movie they both wanted to see so they decided to do that instead of going shopping. Inside they held hands only letting them go when they got up to leave. Not sure how much of the movie they actually watched as they couldn't take their eyes off of each other nor could they take their eyes off their hands as they held and caressed them. "Is it too soon to ask you over to my place?" Jana asked Vic as they made their way to Jana's car. "Would you rather come over to my place?" Vic asked Jana. "I would love to come over to your place," Jana smiled back as she said caressing Vic's cheek with her hand. "I'll come over on one condition." "And what would that condition be," Vic sweetly inquired. "Our clothes stay on and I leave by nine," Jana said. "That's two conditions," Vic said smiling at Jana. "You can't have both. Either your clothes come off or you stay later than nine and why that hour?" "You're making this hard for me because you know how much I want you," Jana replied then after a short pause continued, "I picked that hour because by that time I will have been around you long enough that if we get intimate it will be time for me to go. Our clothes stay on but I'll agree to stay while we talk and talking is all we are going to do. Understand?" Jana stated. "You drive a hard bargain Jana White," Vic said with a chuckle as she grabbed Jana's hands and pulled her to her kissing her on the lips. After they got back from the movie, Jana followed Vic to her house and instantly as they entered Vic's home they were hugging and kissing. After brief kiss Jana broke the kiss pushing Vic away. "Vic, I know you're going to think I'm crazy but I just want to talk. We will have plenty of time to make love and believe me it will be worth the wait. You are very special to me and the last thing I want to do is rush into things and our relationship. If we do, it becomes all about the sex. Once the novelty of the sex wears off we won't have anything left but to go to bed and fuck. Our love won't mean anything," Jana said almost pleading to Vic with her hand on Vic's cheek. "I want so much more than that." Vic leaned into Jana's hand on her cheek closing her eyes. "I know. No one has treated me the way you have," Vic moaned a loving moan. Vic made them coffee so they could talk. "I really had a good time tonight," Vic commented to Jana. "I know I agreed to wait but I feel the need to kiss you." Jana smiled at Vic reaching over to kiss her across the table. "I know, I feel the same way. That's why we are keeping this table between us," Jana stated. "You know if we are both feeling the same way then we won't have regrets tomorrow," Vic said to Jana. "I will and you will too. A month from now when the sex becomes stale and believe me it will, we both will be looking back on this day and say that's where we went wrong," Jana spoke with confidence. "You sound like you are speaking from experience?" Vic added. "I guess I am," Jana sadly said. "A few years back I thought I had fallen in love again. After a wild week of romance, sex, and a lot of I love you's, she told me it was great while it lasted but she didn't love me like I deserved to be loved. She was looking for a partner she could fuck for a while then move to the next one and when she tired of them come back to me or find someone else. I told her if that is what she wanted she was looking in the wrong bedroom. She didn't come home the next night so I figured she had found what she was looking for. She did leave a note for me which I found after I had come home. It read "You deserve much more than I can give to you. I hope one day you will find it." "I'm sorry. I hope you think more of me than that woman did of you?" Vic told Jana sounding sincere. "I do. That's the reason I am being cautious. Not because I want to protect myself from a similar situation, I do, but because of how strong my feelings are for you, I want this to be the right thing for both of us. You being new to dating women, you deserve to be loved and not have your first experience with a woman to end up with her fucking you then bailing on you," Jana told Vic. They talked a little more over the coffee before Jana told Vic she needed to go. As much as Vic wanted Jana to stay she did not protest in the least as Jana got up to leave. They kissed and hugged at the door as Vic watched Jana drive away promising to see each other at Addie's next soccer game on Saturday. The following Saturday day Vic was at the soccer game earlier than usual but then she had reason to do so. Her friend Faith arrived shortly thereafter and was surprised to see Vic there this early so she suspected Vic was meeting Jana there again. "So, how did your date go last night?" she asked Vic. Vic smiled starring out towards the field. "Are you sure you really want to know?" Vic asked. "Well only if you want to tell me. I am your best friend," Faith reminded Vic. "Of late I haven't been so sure. Last time we talked you made it sound as if I wasn't capable of deciding what was best for me or Addie," Vic stated. "I'm sorry. I meant no disrespect. I sometimes voice my opinion without thinking how hurtful I can be. You know you are my best friend and I love you and will always respect your decision," Faith said to Vic with sincerity. Vic smiled at Faith and told her, "It was great. If you want to know details there are none to tell you. After the movie we went to my place and over coffee sat at the kitchen table. We talked for a bit and then she went home. Sorry to disappoint you but there was no intimacy to tell you about," Vic said much to Faith's disappointment. A short time later Vic's cell rang. "Hey, something has come up and we can't make it to the game or to lunch afterwards. I'm really sorry," Jana said. "No that is okay. Do what you have to do. Are we still on for tomorrow?" Vic inquired. There was hesitation on the other end and Vic was about to say hello again when Jana spoke, "I don't think so. I'll have to call you later. I'm sorry." Then there was silence as Jana ended the call. "I think she hung up on me," Vic said looking at her phone with disappointment. "What did she say?" Faith asked. "She couldn't make it. It sounded as if she was breaking up with me before we ever got started," Vic commented absent of any emotion. "I'm sorry," Faith said and grabbed Vic's hand. Faith looked over to notice Vic looking out over the field with tears beginning to run down her cheek. It was at that moment Faith realized how strong Vic's feelings were for Jana. At that time someone called out to Vic and was coming up the steps towards her. Vic looked towards the person and recognized her as Chris, the lady who bought coffee for her and Faith the other day and then sat with her a few Saturdays ago when they played Chris's daughters team. Vic quickly wiped her tears away, "Oh hi Chris, how are you? Vic asked. "Better than you are, I see. Did I catch you at the wrong time?" Chris asked as she sat next to Vic. "No not at all. Please sit. I just received some news I wasn't expecting and it caught me off guard that's all but I'm better now," Vic said trying to change the discussion. Chris sat down and noticed Faith holding Vic's hand in hers so she knew it was more than what Vic had let on to be. "Hi, Faith," Chris said to Faith. Chris nodded her head at Faith and leaned back as she mouthed to her, "Is she alright?" Vic starred out over the field not paying any attention to either side. Faith nodded no to Chris but wasn't ready to say any more to Chris since she didn't really know her. "You know I could get use to sitting next to you two and watching our daughters take on the league. They look to be the best on either of the two teams, your two on defense and my daughter on offense," Chris said trying to change the subject. "Yes they do," added Faith trying to further distract Vic. They spent the rest of the time discussing the game to keep Vic occupied. When the game was over Chris rose but stood so Vic couldn't get past her. "You know I have a secondary degree in counseling so if you feel like you need to talk to someone, I can be there for you if you want to talk," Chris told her. "Thank you but I am okay, really, but I appreciate the offer," Vic replied. It was two weeks before Vic heard from Jana again and then only because she called Jana. "Are you avoiding me? Did I say or do something that has you upset with me?" Vic started the conversation with Jana. "Oh no nothing like that. I was meaning to call you to let you know what's been happening. I was trying to avoid the subject but I guess now is the best time to tell you. You remember me telling you about the girlfriend I was involved with a few years back?" Jana started telling Vic. "Yes, you mean the one who disappeared on you after she told you that you weren't what she was looking for?" Vic replied concerned. "That's the one. Well she was on my doorstep waiting for me Friday after I left your house. She has been here ever since. She has been trying to convince me she has changed her ways and begging me to take her back," Jana said and Vic could tell she was torn. "Are you?" Vic asked no really worried. "You don't understand how much I loved her," Jana said apologetically to Vic. "So she comes back after all these years and you believe her and are willing to give her a second chance at breaking your heart?" Vic stated with some hurt in her feelings. "Yes and no. I'll admit at first I forgave her and accepted her on her word. As much as I was going to hate doing this to you, our relationship was still new and I was hoping you would understand. I still didn't trust her. Even Ava warned me not to trust her and she told me think what I was throwing away with you and Addie. Little Addie has really made an impression on my Ava. She adores her and is relishing having a little sister" Jana told Vic. "Is it because of Ava who adores Addie you are torn between me and her? Because if it is, let's end this relationship right now. While Addie's opinion weighs in on my decision, in the end, it is my decision and not hers or Ava's as to whom I date," Vic said now showing her anger. "No, I didn't mean for it to come out like it sounded," Jana stuttered to say. "I don't know why I said that. I just wanted you to know... I really don't know," Jana stated and it sounded to Vic like Jana was crying. "Did you make love to her?" Vic asked now with tears running down her cheeks. There was silence on the phone for about a minute before Jana responded. "We had sex twice. Then I refused anymore of her advances. I felt so guilty and then what Ava said to me hit home, "think what you are throwing away." Oh, Vic, I am so sorry. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't want to see me again. Ava was right. I would be throwing my feelings for you away. It was because of you I was feeling so guilt ridden and it was because of you I turned her away after that. Please forgive me!" Jana sighed and Vic could tell Jana was really crying now. There was silence on Vic's end of the phone as she contemplated what Jana had just told her. Her mind was a mix of anger and sorrow. She had anger with Jana and her girlfriend and sorrow for herself for getting into this mess. Her first thought was for Addie because she said she liked both Jana and Ava and then towards Faith as she would never hear the end of it. "Is she still there?" Vic asked. "I told her she's to be out by the end of the week. I am really sorry. I never intended to hurt you," Jana pleaded with Vic. "It's too late for that. I'm already hurt and very angry. I have to go," Vic stated and hung up on Jana. After that she cried some more until Addie came in to her room to see what her mom was crying about. "Mom, are you okay?" she asked. "No sweetie I'm not. Come here," Vic responded. Addie went to her mom and lay beside her. Vic placed her arm around Addie and hugged her tight. Addie knew her mom was upset but she knew better than to pry. It was best if Vic wanted her to know, she would tell her when and if she was ready. So Addie lay beside her mom and let her hug her while her mother cried. Vic's phone rang again and Addie could see Jana's name on the caller ID. She then saw her mom turn the phone off so Addie knew it had to be a problem with Jana. That was how they stayed until they fell asleep. The next day Vic woke up not feeling any better and she didn't tell Addie what had transpired the night before. Vic didn't hear from Jana the next few days or over the weekend. Addie had a soccer game which both Vic and Addie went to. Half way through curiosity got the best of her friend Faith. "You haven't mentioned your friend Jana in a while. Did you ever hear from her why she canceled on your outing the other day?" Faith asked. "I heard from her," was Vic's reply. "Would you like to share with me what she said?" Faith inquired. "No," was all the response Vic offered. After that Faith let it drop. She knew something happened and obviously it was not good so they sat in silence the rest of the game except for small talk unrelated to Jana. Two more weeks went by and Jana was over her crying but not over Vic yet. She had tried numerous times to call her and all she got was hung up on before she could say a word. Finally Ava came to both of theirs rescue or this might have gone on forever. "I told you you were throwing a good thing away. Why did you take Sara back anyway?" Ava asked her mom. "I don't need a fifteen year old to tell me I messed up. I appreciate your advice but this is beyond your age," Jana said not trying to be critical to Ava. "Besides she won't answer my calls so I can't apologize and beg her forgiveness. "Apparently you do need a fifteen year old to tell you how you have, and pardon my language, fucked up a good thing," Ava told her. "I'll be in my room if you want to know how to possibly make amends and get Mrs. Langley to possibly talk to you," Ava said to her mom turning to walk away. After twenty minutes Jana walked into Ava's room. "I'm sorry, but don't think for one minute I won't restrict you to this room if you ever use that tone or cuss at me again," Jana said then she smiled at Ava to let her know she wasn't mad at her. "Now how do I get Mrs. Langley to listen to me?" "When we went to brunch that one time, Addie and I swapped phone numbers. If you want I can see if Addie can get her mom to talk to you without knowing it's you on the other end," Ava told her mom. "I don't see how it would hurt. She is not talking to me anyway," Jana said. Ava sat in to her room and made the call with Jana sitting there and listening. "Hey Addie, it's Ava White. Has your mom been acting depressed or sad lately?" "Yes, she has been sad for a long time. Why, what happened between yours and my mom?" Addie asked sounding concerned. "Well it's a long story that I'm not sure of all the details but she has been trying to talk to your mom for sometime but your mom won't talk to mine. Can you do me a favor and take your phone down to her and without revealing it's my mom on the other end, tell her she has a call?" Ava asked. "Do you think this will work?" Addie asked. "I hope so. If it does I owe you a big hug and I'll treat you to a sundry next time we are together," Ava threw that last part in as incentive. "And you owe me an explanation as to what is going on," Addie added. "Deal, now go get your mom," Ava said and handed her phone to her mom, then left her mom alone in the bedroom so she could talk in private. Addie walked down the stairs finding her mom in the kitchen. "Mom, there's some lady on the phone asking for Victoria Langley," Addie told her. "Who is it?" Vic asked giving Addie a puzzled look. Addie shrugged her shoulders handing her cell phone to her mom and walked out of the room not giving her mom a chance to hang up or give her phone back to Addie. "Hello, this is Ms. Langley," she said into the phone. "Don't hang up on me please. It seems both of our daughters are trying to get us to talk. Vic, I screwed up big time and I don't blame you for not wanting to talk to me. I knew it was a mistake when I let Sara in the door. Ava told me so and questioned my intellect asking me did I know what I was throwing away in our relationship. It took me about a week to actually realize what I had done and then it took another week to get Sara to leave," Jana explained not giving Vic a chance to say anything. "But you made love to her," Vic quietly stated. "Yes I did and that was the biggest mistake of all. In my defense the whole time we were in bed I envisioned it was you I was making love to. I know I have hurt you and I know you no longer trust me. Can we please remain friends? I would like for us to get together face to face so you could see how much you mean to me and how sorry I am," Jana begged Vic. Vic hesitated because she didn't want Jana to know her true feelings but in reality she missed Jana and was willing to forgive and forget the past. It wasn't a stranger but Jana's former girlfriend whom Jana obviously had feelings for. The hardest part was forgetting Jana had made love to this girl but Vic knew once she saw Jana she would forget about that too. "Okay," Vic said still not letting her guard down or revealing how she really felt about Jana. "Thank you. I would like to see you tomorrow if that okay with you? The sooner we can put this behind us the better. Would you like to come over here or me come over there seeing as it is a school night?" Jana asked sounding relieved. "We'll come over there," Vic replied knowing if she went there she would have a way to leave if she needed to. "That would be great. See the two of you at seven?" Jana said. The next evening Vic and Addie went over to Jana's. Almost immediately Addie and Ava went up to Ava's room. Once inside the bedroom they high-fived as if to celebrate a job well done. "Now tell me what's going on," Addie asked Ava. "My mom's ex-girlfriend showed up here a few weeks ago and my mother had pity on her and took her back. I know she regretted making that choice and I talked to her about it. Since then my mom has been trying to get rid of her. Your mom called while Sara was here and my mom couldn't lie to her and told her about Sara which I suppose from your mom's reaction she wasn't too happy with my mom. You can see the results and now you're here," Ava said filling Addie in with what she knew. "Let's hope they are able to work it out. I really like your mom. I don't want to lose you as a friend because I like you too," Addie smiled. "I like you too and have missed you these past few weeks," Ava replied. Down stairs Vic and Jana were working through their differences. After an hour they seemed to have settled their problems and were talking normal. Before they left they were able to hug and kiss. "I never thought I would taste those lips again," Jana softly said to Vic. "You almost didn't. But I couldn't go through with it. Your lips and taste are too tempting," Vic whispered back. "Come on Addie. We have to be going or someone won't get up for school in the morning," she called out to Addie. Addie hugged Ava again and ran down the stairs to her waiting mom. "Would you like to go out tomorrow night?" Jana asked Vic as Addie came down the stairs. "I'd love to. Pick me up at eight," Vic replied now sounding more assured of herself. "Would you like to go to Addie's game on Saturday?" she added. "I'd like that," Jana replied. Vic and Addie had no sooner left than Ava was downstairs asking, "Well how did it go?" "I need you to call your grandma and see if you can spend the night with her," Jana said smiling at Ava. Vic and Addie pulled out of Jana's driveway with Addie asking the same questions to her mom. "I need you to stay at Marilyn's or your grandma's tomorrow night," she said smiling at Addie. Jana picked Vic up at eight the next night and the two went out dancing at a club Jana knew where no one would stare at the two of them while they danced and cuddled together. They danced for a while then sat and talked some more before Vic said, "I'm tired. Would you mind if we went back to my place and finish our drinking there?" Vic asked Jana. "No not at all. Is everything okay?" Jana asked worried she had said or done something else to hurt Vic or Vic was having second thoughts about them. Jana sat on the sofa while Vic made them a drink. They each took a few sips before they moved together and kissed. The drinks were forgotten after that as they hugged and kissed. This time Vic with her new found confidence ended up on top of Jana. She moved so her legs were in between Jana's eliciting a small moan from both of them as their mounds pressed together. "Would you be more comfortable if we moved into the bedroom," Vic softly suggested to Jana. "I didn't want to be presumptuous considering everything I have put you through, but that would be nice," Jana said. Vic took Jana by the hand and led her to the bedroom. They stood at the edge of the bed kissing, "Are you ready for this? I'm not rushing you am I?" Jana asked with her hands on Vic's waist. To Be Continued.....
