Someone had just moved into the house down the street from us. Mr. Hawthorn owned the house, but he rented it out and this year it was to a military family. The base was just a few miles away and there were always military families in town. This time I was more than happy to see a new family, because they had a daughter, and she was the same age as me. Billie Taylor was her name. She didn't dress like other girls, she wore jeans, tennis shoes, sweat shirts and her short dark hair was usually messed up. I was at the local park, they had several tennis courts. I was hitting the tennis ball against the wooden wall, when Bobby Johnson and Timmy Baker came by. "Hey, Lori you look good in that tennis skirt." I turned to look at him. "You're such a creep, Bobby." They both laughed. Bobby came over. "You still like girls? I got something no girl has." "Get away from me you pervert." Tommy laughed. "What you gonna do? You're here all by yourself." "No she's not!" Came a voice from the end of the court. It was the new girl, the one that just moved in. Bobby turned. "Who the hell are you. I ain't never seen you around before." She walked up to where I was standing. "You don't leave her alone, you won't be able to see anything for a long while." Bobby was not about to let that go. It happened so fast, Bobby grabbed for her, she turned shoved him hard to the ground. It literally knocked the wind out of him. She quickly turned to Tommy. "Better get your friend and get the fuck outta here!" That was the first day I met Billie. She picked up the tennis ball and walked around the net. "I'll throw it at you and you hit back to me. See how good your aim is." I did, and she caught everyone of those balls with her bare hands. I had more fun that day than I ever had. Billie liked basketball and baseball. She was always in a game with the boys at the park. Usually she was in a fight at the park, but she never lost. Her father had taught her how to defend herself and the unskilled boys were no match for her. She was rough and tumble and all the other kids started calling her, Billie The Kid. I had a girls Schwinn bike and Billie had the strangest bike I had ever seen. Her father bought it for her they were in Germany and it actually folded up in half. We go on long rides around the town and even out to the military base. We would stand outside the fence and look in. We took a shortcut through the woods on our way back home. I hit a large fallen tree branch and fell off my bike. Billie jumped off her bike and quickly came to me. "Lori! Are you alright? You didn't break anything, did you?" I looked down at my knee, which was bleeding. "I'm fine, just a little cut." She held me in her arms and propped me up against the tree trunk. She took a rag from her pocket and wiped my knee. She turned to look at me and I noticed how big and beautiful her Hazel eyes were. I didn't say anything, and she didn't either. She just leaned in and kissed me full on the lips. It sent a shiver through my body when we kissed. We stopped to look at each other, then I pulled her in and kissed her again and again. I suppose she knew I was gay, but she never let on. I thought maybe she was, but I was not sure until that moment. Billie stood up and picked my bike up. "Didn't hurt your bike. Scuffed it up a little is all." I stood up and took the bike. "Thanks. I like you, you're a good friend." She smiled and tapped me on the shoulder. "Yeah, you too Lori. Let's let's get home." I loved women ever since I was little and I knew it would never change. I always had a crush on many of my female school teachers. All of it was just fantasy, because I knew nothing would ever come of it. With Billie, I felt something different. I thought about her all the time. I would go to the park and watch her play baseball. She could pitch over hand as good as any boy. Andy Miller was our the local jock, and he always picked Billie for his team. He was also a good pitcher, he and Billie would take turns pitching. Billie was even better at Basketball. She was not as tall and slender and very quick on her feet. Her accuracy was as better than most the boys. I knew when the new school year started, Billie would be in all the sports. Of course, I was no good at anything but volleyball. Four of us girls played the boys several times that summer. Billie taught me how to set the ball up for her to slam it over the net. Slam it she did! One time she hit Bobby in the head and almost knocked him out. When it came to spiking the ball, she was the best. That was why I loved Billie so much. She was, rambunctious, wild, unruly and always in trouble over something. She was a true teenage outlaw and the first tomboy I ever knew. She was everything that I could never be. I remember the first sleep over we ever had. It was in our back yard, in the first week of August. Billie and I pitched a tent her father had given her. We had a BBQ that evening and Billie fixed the chain on my bike. I never told my dad, but she fixed it better than he ever did. We laid our sleeping bags out in the tent and hung up the lantern. Mom and dad wished us a good night and went inside. We sat around talking about the coming school year and I told her who all the good kids were and who all the bad kids were. Which teachers were really good and the ones that were not so much. In mid sentence, Billie leaned over and kissed me on the lips again. "Did you know Lori, your drop dead gorgeous?" I stared into her eyes and shook my head. "No. My mom always says I'm pretty, but moms always say that about their girls." Billie kissed me again. "Do you think I'm pretty?" I slowly nodded. "Yes, I do. Your so different and I love that about you. I'm envious, because I could never be like you." Billie pulled me down on the sleeping bag. "Have you ever made love with a girl?" I had to swallow. "No." She kissed me again. "Would you like to?" I kissed her back and nodded. "Yes, I would." I had no idea what that would lead to that night in the tent. Billie knew exactly what to do and how to do it. We both stripped off our clothes and climbed into one sleeping bag together. Our naked bodies felt so wonderful together, soft and warm. She played with my little nipples and it drove me insane. I wanted to hold and kiss her forever. I tried to reciprocate, but she held me down. "Lay back, Lori. Let me take control and just relax." It was too hot in the sleeping bag, we laid naked on top of them. Billie parting my legs and she sent me into oblivion. I never knew it was possible to feel so many things all at once. I rolled over and looked at the small clock, it was 12:40. It was still warm out, and we were both damp from perspiration. I loved her so much, I stroked her hair and kissed her lips. "I want to make you feel what I felt." She opened her legs. "My pussy is really wet. You made it that way." I felt her pussy with my hand, and she was wet. I kissed her again. "I don't care. I just want to make you cum over and over again." To say it was the most wonderful night I had ever experienced in my young life, would have been an understatement. That summer of 1962, me and Billie the kid spent many days and nights together. I believe my mom knew even though she never said. Lesbians and gays were not quite acceptable at the time. I think she was happy I wasn't spending all my time with boys. Our Jr. High school only had two sports for girls. Basketball and Volleyball. Of course Billie excelled at both. Whereas Andy was the male jock in school, Billie the kid was the female jock. All the girls in school wanted to be with Andy, and all the boys wanted to be with Billie. I am happy to say, Billie spend her free time with me that school year. June came around, and her father was going to be stationed in Okinawa. She would not be returning for the next year. I spent one whole day crying my eyes out. I couldn't understand why this was happening to me. Billie and I spent one last night together, a night that I cried half way through. We made love for one last time. I hung onto her and didn't want to let go. I said goodbye to her that night. We wrote to each other back and forth for over a month. Then one day, the letters stopped and I never heard from her again. END.
