Date: Sun, 26 Mar 2023 19:15:30 +0000 From: ChristyDancer Subject: Christy's Diary -- Chapter 13 Tuesday, September 24 Today sucked, in oh so many ways. First, spoiler alert -- Ms. Weston and my mom talked, and Ms. Weston wanted one more day to work out details. Details? What? I switch from pants to a skirt and wear shirts that button the other way (which I can grab in the school store on the way home). Second, though, the sister wives were outraged and wanted to hold a school-wide protest. Something like "Free Christy" or something like that. Brie was particularly outraged, but she's been into female empowerment since like the 4th grade, so there's that. Mainly, the Emmas wanted to practice their Barbie Dress-up skills on me, and Madison, sweet, deer-in-the-headlights Madison, still didn't quite understand what all the fuss was about. Someday soon, I was destined to become the sister wives' dress up Barbie, but no one knew when. Oh... just so I don't forget. Old joke. Does Barbie come with Ken? No. Barbie dates. Ken. Barbie comes with GI Joe. Anyway.... Spanish text sucked. I think I got an A, but it still sucked. English test sucked more. I think I got a B. I'm still trying to understand why I got a B in a language I've been speaking for 14 year or so, but an A in a language I only vaguely use to chat with our housekeeper, Conchita, and the unnamed guys (I really should learn their names) on the yard crew. At least I think they speak Spanish. I've been practicing on them, and they smile. I'm going to be really embarrassed if it turns out they all have names like Dimitri. Sigh.... anyway... Just because I need to write something before I go to bed, here are the contents of my one and only purse. (Note to self -- need to buy a new purse if I actually go to the dance in that cute peach dress Saturday.) 1. A wallet with exactly $18.46, my county library card, and my school ID card. It longingly awaits, in the not too distant future, a drivers license and (becalm my fluttering heart) a Visa card. 2. One cherry chapstick 3. One IPhone (when I'm in `girl mode', otherwise in my `boy mode' pants pocket) 4. One emergency iPhone charger 5. One tube of Maybelline Pink Sand lipstick 6. A dental pick 7. Hand sanitizer 8. Hand lotion 9. My ear buds (again, in my pocket in `boy mode') 10. Tissues 11. A brush 12. A hair tie I should carry some mints or chewing gum (except at school, which forbids gum) but Madison, bless her dumb soul, always has some. I feel like I'm missing something. Oh well.... Otherwise, a boringly, normal day. Standard casserole for dinner (Mom seems to love casseroles -- this one was ham and noodles and something) and the infinite amount of homework, and bed.
